I can answer your question about 2B.
From what I've gathered about the production story, they found out about the cut around the time they were writing Eda's Requiem.
According to the storyboards that have surfaced online, Philip originally searched for a spell called the Song of the Stars instead of the Collector in Elsewhere and Elsewhen.
Amity didn't originally give up the key in Eclipse Lake somehow, as she still has it in storyboards for Clouds on the Horizon.
You can tell when the upped pace kicked in as of Follies at the Coven Day Parade when Belos suddenly announces the DOU is a month away.
Hollow Mind has all the evidence of an intended season finale - a close encounter with Belos, the revelations about helping him find the Collector and him being a witch hunter and Hunter being a grimwalker, Hunter running away on a cliffhanger.
It's been speculated by myself and others that Hollow Mind was supposed to be the s2 finale and the DOU was either the midpoint for s3 or the s3 finale and the show ends there.
The kids don't get trapped in the human realm because the Collector wasn't originally there to cause havoc.
so we could have had more lumity......or no trapperd in human realm, or collector....woudl we have even gotten more info on vee and camila.....
honestly a part of me likes the story we got better, not the shortened season, i will NEVER like that....but i feel like...
WAIT WOULD WE HAVE EVEN GOTTEN TITAN LUZ????

I am still highly distracted by the spoilers and suffering for it but hearing that both Obi Wan is done after ep4 and that the carriage scene is also in ep4, I think a lot of the over the top yelling about Kenebling I saw was a touch dramatic.
(not that I am also not dramatic, I am and will continue to be so)
I haven't read or thought much on Penelope possibly having a dream but if she does...good for us, ha. I know the metadata said a dream in ep2 but in my head (and the way I'd write a fic) it would be near the end of the ep to bookend the brothel scene at the front to contrast both how he acts with her and his feelings for her over the episode. Cue wake up scene and fade to black for a mini cliffhanger before going into the 3rd ep where that garden scene is supposed to be for real. What a ride it's going to be.
Knowing we get some serious yearning, jealousy, horny jail vibes and they pretty much have to be eps 2-4 before the carriage scene that's so much to work in through 3 episodes, Obi Wan feels so much more like a plot device than anything else at this point.
Oh they are so angry about the promo. Every time I open twitter I see a new and offensive bad take on why we're getting promo but they didn't (in 2022, with the pandemic restrictions still going strong no less). It's nasty behavior and says a lot more about them than it does about s3. Truly one season per couple is perfect. No pressure to break them up for drama, no storylines fading and feeling hugely OOC or painful for almost a whole season just to act like the huge conflict never happened because they're moving onto the next one. I will happily let the next couple take the spotlight and all the better if I manage to get invested in them along the way.
20 years? That's so impressive! Adulting and too much of it, I agree, but impressive nonetheless.
I am so distracted and still searching down holes I probably would never go down to find more spoilers LOL! But I need all of them. I did see that we only get Obi Wan in 1, 3 and 4. And I would be good with that. I saw the Carriage spoiler and girl I died. I saw it ends on a cliffhanger and I will say I do have a rule about no cliffhangers because they give me the GREATEST anxiety there is. So as soon as episode ends I will be back down my spoiler hole for episode 5.
I think if you look up the word dramatic in the dictionary (something they definitely had when I was younger) it would have my name listed there. I read something that brothel scene number 1 happens in episode 2 and that brother scene number 2 didn’t come until episode FOUR! FOUR!!! I said. Yes I got dramatic again. I might have dropped to my knees in true Darth Vader style and yelled NOOOOOOO! But then I said Stacy…and Yes I talk to myself a lot…I said Stacy shut the front door, it will be ok. And then I was fine. Because then I remembered that no one knows really anything past episode one and we are all making stuff up in our heads and getting paranoid now.
I think its going to be fun and games and yearning and pining with a pinch of annoying there is this other suitor who likes veggies hanging out in the back for a couple of episodes and then all of a sudden episode 4 there is going to be some serious shit going down. And whatever happens in that one is going to be the ballgame. Because I noticed we only got like 3 screenshots from that episode. Like two of her in her dress dancing with Lord Kenobi at the ball and her serious face as he’s talking to her. And then Colin all angry and serious on the stairs…so what the hell goes down in 4 because damn. That’s where it all goes sideways and they end up literally sideways in a carriage!
I saw more beautiful promo today of Nic and Newts in Australia and it made me just flutter and flurry and not care that everyone was angry about it because it was so sweet and pure that you have to be mad and crazy to be angry about it. The things I have read that they keep saying about them is just trash and not nice. I’m happy it’s one season because if you focus on a couple for too long, writers have a tendency to screw it up by adding in dumb things to keep the story interesting like new love interests or fake drama that no one asked for. I’ve watched too many Ryan Murphy shows to trust writers. I want to see them happy and sexed up next season and running off to find a room. Maybe Colin can throw in a couple lines of “My wife” to make me giggle too.
I was ok with 20 years until my co workers told me it was like 41,600 hours of my life…though I’m pretty sure a lot of those hours were sneaking off to read fanfiction too.

It’s literally canon that Johnny has yet to show any real concern for Robby. Let’s not forget that at the beginning of s3, when Robby had been missing for weeks, Johnny was busy getting drunk and beating up random men in the middle of the street instead of looking for him. Daniel had to be the one to tell Johnny that they should look for Robby, and Johnny bailed right in the middle of the search.
Right after Robby got out of juvie, Johnny let him walk away and didn’t care where he was. He spent the season more interested in impressing his high school ex-girlfriend than trying to do something for his son.
s3 ended with Johnny accidentally slamming Robby into a row of lockers and knocking him unconscious for at least 5 minutes, and yet s4 started with Johnny not mentioning Robby even once. In fact, they don’t see each other until 4x04, and that only happened because Robby went to him. Instead of apologizing, Johnny pretty much told him to fuck off and spent the rest of the season ignoring him.
It also doesn’t help that the two times we see Johnny getting emotional over Robby, it’s when he’s with Miguel. He told Miguel in s2 that not being there for Robby is his biggest regret, and then in s4, he drunkenly mistakes Miguel for Robby and says “I love you.” But why should I believe this?? Because Robby is Johnny’s biological son, so of course he has to love him?? Except we know that biology doesn’t matter, because plenty of parents treat their bio kids like shit.
Even in 4x08, when Johnny gets his ass kicked by Silver and sees how dangerous he is, he goes home to get drunk instead of trying to find Robby.
The fact that one of the cliffhangers of s4 is “will Johnny and Miguel be okay??” is laughable to me, because from the very first episode, Miguel has been used as a means to redeem Johnny. We know things between Miguel and his bio dad will not work out, and that Johnny will burst into the room to save him, because Johnny has no problem flying to another country to look for Miguel, but somehow driving around town to look for Robby was too difficult for him.
And before anyone comes for me, I’m not saying Johnny should ditch Miguel. I fully agree that Johnny did him dirty this season and hurt him... but he’s also been hurting Robby since he was a baby. We saw Johnny fighting for Miguel in s3 and I’m sure s5 will be more of the same. But Robby hasn’t received even a quarter of that concern, and that makes me not want to root for Johnny as a character.
Somehow Johnny can throw multiple tantrums because Daniel is spending time with Miguel and teaching him things, but Robby spends months around a man who abused Johnny as a teenager and tried to kill him twice and Johnny... is okay with it?? How come Johnny spends the entire show talking about how Kreese ruined his life, and yet when his son finds himself in the same position, he does nothing?? Robby had to break down in tears in front of Johnny for him to finally pull him into a hug.
The writers compared the Robby/Kenny dynamic to Johnny/Robby, except that makes no sense because Kenny isn’t Robby’s son and Robby didn’t have any obligations to Kenny when he first met him.
The writers, producers, general audience, critics, and interviewers all love Johnny and don’t see anything wrong with the way he treats Robby. I’ve never seen any of these people call it out.
The problems in the Johnny/Robby dynamic are blamed on Robby. Somehow it was all his fault for being too angry at his dad, for being too bitter. Johnny is absolved by the narrative and the majority of the fanbase of his neglectful behavior and that’s just... bad?? I cut Johnny slack during the first two seasons because the story was starting, but it’s been four seasons now. The writing for him is sloppy, and I do love characters who fuck up and make mistakes, but the problem is that Johnny’s mistakes are always somebody else’s fault (Robby, Daniel, Shannon). That’s not compelling or entertaining.
It’s also very telling that Johnny’s bullying and violence against Daniel somehow got reduced to “well, both were jerks in high school!!” when anyone with braincells who watched the movie knows that Daniel didn’t do anything wrong and that Johnny chose to attack him because he was jealous and entitled.

Hey guys, haven’t made an original post in some time lol. If you guys don’t know, Steve Blackman released the episode names for season three of the Umbrella Academy. I’ve been thinking about what each episode might be about and I have a general idea for each!
Here’s the titles of you haven’t seen already:
Tumblr media
Meet the family: I think this title is a pretty self explanatory one. We’re gonna meet the sparrow academy. We’ll probably see them as kids and we’ll get to see all of their powers. I’m also sure that there is going to be a fight scene between the Sparrow Academy (SA) and the Umbrella Academy (UA).
Worlds biggest ball of twine: I think this episode is going to be the UA figuring out how their actions in the 60s affect their current present. I think Harlan, Sissy, Ray, the people at the asylum (they’re gonna thing Diego had something to do with JFK’s death or something) and the overall damage they’ve done (y’know being wanted world wide) is gonna hit them all hard in this episode.
Pocket full of lightning: Now i’m a bit stumped about this episode. When i think of lightning in a UA sense, I think of powers, which leads me to believe this could be a Five or one of the SA centric episode. We also know from the comics that Luther and Five are twins (and considering it was a big part of book three, I feel like they’re gonna work it in somehow). I feel like this episode could hint at the two of them being twins, but overall idk.
Kugelblitz: During the time when Steve was introducing the titles, he said that we’re going to have to search up what kugelblitz meant. So... i did.
Tumblr media
Because a kugelblitz has to do with energy, I feel as though this episode is going to have something to do with Vanya and her powers. If it’s not about Vanya, I feel like this could be a Reginald episode. We know the third comic is about Hotel Oblivion (which is a hotel in space), so perhaps this has something to do with how Reggie gets to the hotel/how he created it. If not, I definitely feel like this episode will have some power explosion from someone and I think that someone is Vanya.
Kindest Cut: For this episode, I have a few ideas of what it could be about. I feel like it could be about pushing forward the fact that Luther and Five are twins (like how it cuts deep that they’re twins but in some way it’s a good cut y’know. maybe they go to where they were born and find out they’re twins or something). I also feel like this episode could be about Diego. If that is the case, that means we’d get a better look into what Lila has been up to and how the commission is. I think both options are good tbh.
Marigold: This episode is definitely about Reginalds backstory. Marigold is supposed to represent the little energy orbs Reginald released in S1 E10 and the ones Vanya put into Harlan in S2 E4(?). Because of this, I feel like we’re finally going to see more of Reginalds history, as well as a bit of where Harlan is too. He was given the orb things, which leads me to believe that he’s going to have something to do with this episode.
Auf Wiedersehen: Klaus episode! There is no way this isn’t a Klaus centric episode. Klaus, is German, and so is the name of the title. Also, we know from bts photos and videos that the Berlin Wall is going to be featured in episode seven The Berlin Wall was also destroyed in 1989 (i think. not 100% sure on that if someone wants to fact check me lol). The Berlin Wall also happens to be located in Germany. So, what I think is going to happen in this episode is that Klaus is going to go to Germany to find a version of himself that wasn’t taken in by Reginald. He’s going to get upset (obvi) and he’s going to have to say goodbye to a part of him he always wished he had (auf wiedersehen means goodbye in German). I think this of it has something to do with saying goodbye to Dave. Considering Dave was dispatched early into the military, we very well could have a different outcome for him.
Wedding at the End of the World: This title reminds me of S1 E1 - We only see Each Other at Weddings and Funerals. I think this episode is going to have the same vibe as the pilot episode. We all know Allison was once married in her life time (well, she was married twice, but yk what I mean). Because of thugs, I feel that we’re going to see why her and Luther have the connection they have in this episode. I’m not 100% sure if this is true (fact check me again lol), but I think that Allison rumoured Luther into liking her. If that’s the case, I think that’s going to be revealed in this episode. This means that Wedding is a type of metaphor, if that makes sense. I also this this relates to the title of S1 E1 because of the death theme they both hold. The pilot episode references funerals, which was Reggies funeral in the first episode. Now, when you think of the end of the world, you often think of death. What happens when you die? You have a funeral. Because of this, I think Reginald is going to die in this episode, and it’s going to reveal some of his secrets which will lead to the final two episodes.
Six Bells: I feel like this episode is a part one to a two part thing with the final episode. In both S1 and S2, they had episode 9 start at the beginning(ish) of the day, and episode 10 finish the day - leaving us on a cliffhanger. I think this is going to be the same type of vibe with this season. Going off of the last episode (E8), I think Reggie is going to die and his secret is going the be revealed. What is that secret? Hotel Oblivion. I think the six bells are referencing the six Hargreeves siblings (UA) going to Hotel Oblivion, sorta how there’s those bells on the front counter that you ding when you need service. I think it’s a reference to them ‘checking in’ to Hotel Oblivion. Steve also said that the six bells is going to make sense more as we watch the season, so Hotel Oblivion could be referenced earlier on (Kugelblitz type beat?).
Oblivion: Obviously this is referencing Hotel Oblivion, which is what the third comic is about. If this is the case, I feel we’re going to see a major fight scene (bigger than the one at the end of S2), where the UA and the SA have to work together to fight all of the bed guys Reginald locked away (if you don’t know what hotel oblivion is, it’s a hotel that reginald made in space where he kicked all of the things the UA fought throughout their life time). I haven’t ras the third comic yet, but i’m pretty sure (from what i’ve heard) that the SA helps the UA fight something big, and if that’s the case, we’re going to see some teamwork in this episode. I also think this episode is going to end on a cliffhanger, cause we’re almost 100% sure there’s going to be a S4.
Anyways, this took forever to write lol. If you guys have any other ideas about what you think S3 is going to be about, lmk! I love to hear theories about this show!

“Bryan [Fuller] pitched it to me … well, he, described to me in an overview with what he wanted to do with the 4th season, had there been an interest, and it was really fantastic. It was a complete restart, without describing it — because who knows, God knows, maybe some way we may be able to do it in the future — but it took us back to the first season in a very unexpected way, and made total sense of that cliffhanger ending; it seemed justified. It was born out of a part of one of the books so it was still coming out of that universe, but it wasn’t the Clarice / Silence of the Lambs storyline.” (From Hugh’s interview)
Do you have any idea of what S1 plot/concept/idea a possible S4 could draw from? I can’t think of anything? I’m really curious about what Hugh and Bryan are referring to here. Any thoughts? How could a potential S4 remit back to S1?
Cheers :)
Oh, I remember discussing it with my friend extensively! Bryan called his idea an inversion of S1. Since then, a few more interviews were released, so with all the info we have, I honestly have no idea what Bryan is planning... However, here are some thoughts.
1) The first major idea I had was before the whole "Will being out of his mind" stuff. It was a very basic but very logical Murder Husbands' adventures. This plot could be an inversion, going back to S1 in terms of a procedural format with one overarching arc: Will and Hannibal are investigating cases again, but this time, they are killing people; Jack along with Alana and Margot are searching for them and the chase gradually becomes hotter. It makes sense with S3 ending and it echoes the part of Clarice and Hannibal living as a happy and intimidating couple at the end of 'Hannibal' novel, making an old friend flee at the sight.
This is pretty much the only idea I like :D The remaining ones don't seem logical to me, so I can only suggest the basics.
2) Hannibal will be the vulnerable one while Will will be in control. It could be due to injury (Janice once implied that Hannibal might be in the wheelchair), drugging, amnesia, etc., with Will holding Hannibal's reality in his hands and shifting it for whatever reason. It could go back to the injured Hannibal part of the books, but there is nothing specific here. Also, I assume this idea is pretty much refuted by Bryan's later comments.
 3) If Will is "out of his mind" and Bryan wants to bring back the entire cast of all 3 seasons, then perhaps Will is shut down in his MP/hallucinating and reliving all the events that happened in S1?? Maybe the ghosts of people he let down/hurt/killed haunt him or something. This could relate to the brainwashing aspect of 'Hannibal' novel. But it makes no sense and Bryan pretty much covered the brainwashing already by laughing it off via Bedelia's story.
I can come up with a plot for S1 inversion inspired by the books, but it's next to impossible to do that on the basis of all other Bryan's comments. At least I'm out of clear ideas :D

anyway so I've been rewatching sg-1 again, picking up where i left off a few years back. neither of us had a hammond voice ready to hand for that stargate fusion we've been posting, so i rewatched "message in a bottle" (figuring that since it was a bottle show it would have a good modicum of hammond, which it did), and then i was like "i forgot how much i love this show" and started going again. so i have some brief notes / thoughts.
* serpent's song: s2 ep18, the one where apophis dies (mostly). the big plotty goa'uld-y episodes usually bore me, but this one was pretty well done. the apophis actor is really good. (i cannot seem to remember his name, because it's something like peter williams and my brain autofills peter wingfield, whom he is definitely not.)
* one false step: that one with the naked androgynous humanoids in white body paint, with the infrasound stuff and the yodeling. this was one of the very early ones i saw by chance, so i don't actually have much of an opinion on it, other than that sure was an episode of sg-1 that exists.
* show and tell: the one with the reetou, the invisible insectoid race. there are a lot of episodes where some kid bonds with jack, because rda is one of those rare actors who are absolutely delighted to be handed a scene with a kid or a dog in it. these eps usually live or die by the quality of the child actor. this one was no great shakes.
* 1969: a classic episode for a reason and a motherfucking delight. launched a thousand time-travel stories. the actor who plays baby hammond, except for his eyes being brown and him being a little taller i would still swear they actually went back in time and got a young don s davis to play himself. also teal'c in disguise and just everything. except possibly daniel's german accent. i'm not sure if it was specifically regional (my own german accent is heavily austrian, my portugese accent is from sao paulo, it's a thing) or just very bad. but everything else.
* out of mind: sg-1 was commissioned for four seasons at once, so they had the luxury of doing those cliffhanger season endings without getting cancelled on them. this one is mostly a clip show. and it brings back hathor, whom nobody really missed. good cliffhanger though.
* into the fire: s3 opener. much badass, very wow. jack gets goa'ulded, hammond gets to be teal'c's gunner, everything is epic.
* seth: in which sg-1 infiltrates a cult led by stargate's version of set. lots of uncomfortable (for me) thematic stuff about You Should Reconnect With Family. didn't enjoy it.
* fair game: the one where those three goa'uld system lords come to earth for treaty talks with the asgard, and there was that one promo photo that definitely looked like a pitch for a wacky sitcom.
* legacy: fucking ma'chello. even dead, he can't stop causing trouble. this is the one where daniel is Temporarily Schizophrenic Because Of Reasons and we have the evergreen trope of the Psychiatrist You Want To Punch. :P
* learning curve: another one where jack makes friends with an alien kid. felt like it ran way too long and nobody actually asked questions to understand the situation, but the heartwarming ending did stick the landing.
* point of view: the quantum mirror one where we establish that you can't have two of the same person alive in the same parallel reality or the secondary one will start to die of extremely '90s cgi. also one of the ones that really started to push the sam/jack. (i have complicated feelings about sam/jack. some other time.)
* dead man switch: the one where an annoying alien bounty hunter captures sg-1 and tries to make them do things. notable mainly for establishing the phrase "pain in the mik'ta". (Jack: "Neck?" Teal'c: "No.")
* demons: really fucking obnoxious episode that tried to have villagers whose culture came from medieval england believe the sg-1 team were demons. like, i can understand having an axe to grind against christianity, but this was just fucking stage christianity tropes, the fat corrupt churchman with the ring and the skinny good friar in a ratty robe, and a lot of blithering about demons and not even getting the damn St Michael prayer remotely right. Also the writer seemed to think trepanning would always kill the subject, and had *Daniel* of all fucking people be the mouthpiece for that one, when Daniel should know better than anyone that trepanning has been a valid medical procedure for millennia! (Also who the hell tries to treat chicken pox with trepanning I swear to god. This was a bad episode and it should feel bad.)
* rules of engagement: didn't remember this one at all. in which apophis had set up a mock sg team boot camp for his soldiers to practice infiltrating the sgc. no strong feelings.
* forever in a day: the one where sha're dies. actually very well done, but i'm glad i checked the summary or all the out of order stuff would have confused me a lot. sets up the search for the harcesis child, or however you spell that, the captions are not reliable because they appear to believe in the word "asguard" as opposed to "asgard".
* past and present: you know, i wouldn't have said the return of linnea would interest me at all, but it was actually very well done. wrapped up nicely.
* jolinar's memories / the devil you know: a two-parter i definitely didn't remember, in which everybody is good under torture, we seem to have taken care of sokar for the moment, and apophis returns, now with a phantom of the opera mask.
* foothold: never got to see this one before. wanted to. it's good. the sgc gets taken over by aliens impersonating all their people except sam and teal'c. badassery ensues. also maybourne gets to be a halfway decent guy for a flickering second.
and that is as far as i have gotten! season three is being kind of boring. seasons four and five have many more of the episodes I'm looking forward to.

my clown persona is hoping that the writers were writing mike and el like that on purpose and are going to subvert the trope, since both have fallen into a shallow relationship type that does not match their true potential. but then again I see how popular the ship is, a big marketing asset that the show can't pass. and the writers have proven that they take under account the preferences of the general viewers. i hope I am wrong 🤷🏻 my clown persona always overrides any logical side in me lmao
This is... a very interesting thought.
I think that, honestly, if they wanted to subvert the trope they probably wouldn’t have put Mike and El together in the first place. If they break up and stay broken up, it’s not really subverting a trope: it’s just them breaking up. But I do hear what you’re saying. I tend to subscribe to other theories around the use of junk food and pop culture in S3 to illustrate that the shallowness was universal and entirely deliberate. I also think it’s a comment on American consumerist culture and the rise of Reaganite capitalism (case in point: Erica’s speech). It’s about advertising and about artifice. I’m sure I’m not the only viewer who watched Erica applaud capitalism while cynically thinking about American race relations and the decrepit, dangerous nature of capitalism in its current form. The point wasn’t necessarily to show that she’s young, but to show how powerful the concept of capitalism was at that time, and how hugely influential it was in forming American exceptionalism and its fierce tenets of democracy and opportunity. It’s easy to forget that the 80s were a melting pot of technology, politics, and changing international culture. Hawkins is a microcosm: not only is it the place where the show is set, but it’s also illustrative of the small, middle-American town that is familiar to the 80s cinematic setting.
In terms of the marketing asset... another interesting point. I didn’t know that the Duffers outright admitted to listening to fans - the only instance I can think of is keeping Steve and El around. If there are more examples I’d like to hear them! I wonder how strongly Mileven features in the mind of your average viewer. Outside fandom spaces (the ST subreddit is a great example) most viewers don’t think or discuss the relationships on the show. They do consume the story in a very shallow way (not always a bad thing - that’s just my perspective). It’s only in fandom spaces like Tumblr (not really Twitter) that more in-depth conversations around canon relationships takes place. I don’t think that Mileven has that much marketing value. It’s not really marketed as a romantic show. In fact, I’d say that the themes of family and friendship are the pillars of the story, and it’s those that are most memorable to the average viewer. The writers have taken a lot of care in showing the different types of families (both functional and dysfunctional) and the importance of friendship (especially in S3, when puberty proves to be a key factor in unsettling the established friendship dynamic).
That being said, I take your point in that it is the easy way out to keep Mileven as endgame. It’s what everyone would expect. If you do actually go on the sub and search for Mike/Will and read the conversation there, most viewers have no idea as to the queer coding, and outright deny it. I’ve only come across a few comments that indicate some viewers interpreted the S3 fight/rain scene as something to do with Will’s feelings of insecurity around his sexuality (potentially). But I don’t think that even if Will and Mike got together the fanbase would revolt. As I said before, most people watch the show because it’s inventive and interesting, and it plays heavily on the 80s nostalgia card, which is already in vogue. No doubt there would be some homophobic rumblings, but, you know, society isn’t as progressive as it’s presented online. Homophobia and sexism is alive and well. We shouldn’t kid ourselves in thinking that Tumblr is reflective of common opinion, because it’s just not. And I say this as someone who survived Teen Wolf and Sterek, okay. Like, I remember Sterek being pushed at cons. It was a time.
And look, if you have a clown persona then so do I! I really enjoy these discussions and reading meta and devouring theories, because that’s just one way to enjoy the media you consume. I do think a lot about the relationship between canon and fanon and how creative works like fics or art fill that sense of yearning. If it means anything at all, I am hopeful for Byler. In fact, I’m more than cautiously optimistic: I am quite confident it will be canon. I do doubt it’ll play out as popular theories will suggest, and I say that because we’re not the writers, and we don’t know what’s in store. But there is enough in the source material to suggest that at the very least Will is gay and has feelings for Mike. I do think that Mike is gay (not bisexual) and reciprocates those feelings. But as we stand, canonically, at the end of S3, we can only take what’s given to us, and that is a Mileven cliffhanger.
Tl;dr: In a story about friendship and family that plays on 80s nostalgia, I don’t think Mileven is as large a marketing drawcard as you might think. I also don’t think that general viewers - like, your Joe Average viewer - necessarily care about the romantic lives of pre-teens and early teenagers when the pull of the story is the supernatural. But I do agree with you in that Mileven was written deliberately in S3, and it’s meant to be contrasted against the pre-romantic relationship Mike has with Will.

well NOW i need to hear your Thoughts about skaar and hulk finding out things 👀👀
@mistyflame1
Sjsjsjjs w.well....if u say so sir 👉👈😳
Takes place within the end of my s3 ideas
A lot of gamma mutates have been appearing and fighting by now and this is during the point that Betty Ross and a collection of other people have slowly gone missing over the season as well as a bunch of mysterious gamma related attacks
Leader is hesitantly shifting onto their side but isn't quite with them??? Still off on his own and researching and overall very standoffish still since he knows whose related to it all still
Skaar's probably been suffering some odd dreams at this point and I wanna relate them to prophesies since Sakaar was quite connected to them within the comics
Probably something cheesy like uh "when green was torn away we wept. And while you fell as the sun falls from moon, she has cried and she has wept. Face your destiny, Sakaarson, and reignite what was once one." Or smth that's all I got at the top of my head rn
And yeah, Skaar wants to go and has a brief fight over it with Red who thinks it's stupid to go catering off into space just because he dreams of talking rocks
But Hulk points out the fact that they're needed on Earth right now, to figure out what's going on and how to help people, even though humans are disrupting them more and more
And Skaar can see how tired Hulk looks, how he's trying so hard and how even the mention of space settles something on him and Skaar can't make his family go through any of that again. Can't make them ensure that hopelessness of dying in a metal can in a place where most of the world would think they deserved to stay after simply trying to help. Making them all go would just be selfish.
So. I mean. Its not selfish to drag Leader on a trip to Sakaar. Is it?
And yeah this is where it gets a bit blurry cause I imagine Skaar is somehow stuck there for a few days and a lot of cut scenes between him exploring Sakaar culture and Hulk worrying so much and now trying to get to Sakaar.
Its messy for Hulk. Because a part of him fears space now but Skaar is up there. And space and fear is only something you ensure for so long until you reach something grounding and solid again. It'll be worth it if he can get to Skaar again and to help the younger hulk and keep him safe.
Hiro-Kala...I definitely think yeah he's settled as some sort of bad leader and I don't mean as in "he's a shitty person!!" But he's away from Caiera and alone so that makes a lot of his decisions panicked and bad and he can't rely on anyone for help
And now suddenly he has someone with a similar tattoo that isn't fully complete (because yes I use physical symbolism) and now Skaar is putting what he's learned from Hulk to use while searching for the source of the voice that rings out to him across a galaxy.
And I want this to be a thing where it cuts and shows how Hulk worries and becomes rough in his decisions because he only does that when it comes to family! And I want it to show examples of how Skaar has come further now, become someone who could lead and shows examples of what he's learned in comparisons from flashbacks!!
Like...one flashback of Hulk teaching Skaar an important lesson and it cuts to Hulk completely disregarding while Skaar follows it perfectly? It has a good view of how they are and the way their relationship has developed over the past year and a half.
I haven't got all of it but I definitely picture the big moment when Skaar eventually unlocks what's hidden within Sakaar and Hulk and the rest of the Smashers arrive and its absolutely some of that shit that cuts between Leader and Hiro-Kala yelling at Skaar to stop while Hulk rushes to find them before a giant blue and white light cracks between the ground and makes everything go black at a cliffhanger
Tbh I kinda want Caiera to be a villain at first? But more of uh...that scene in Moana where the goddess is angry because she got locked away by the Red King??? Yeah that. And with Cai's emergence, all of these MEMORIES about her come spilling out, a bit like Lup and TAZ
Hulk remembers. Remembers a mission where he got stuck away from the Avengers for a month and a half and how he met this woman who made the Earth move and at the time, had been the only one who matched him in strength that either wasn't his baby cousin or Ben Grimm being a good friend
Remembers the thrill and taste of revolution. The joy of being seen and accepted by someone for bother sides of himself and how Caiera would call him "Holku" with that same smile and eyes that struck his heart and make his stomach clench funny
And its easy and hard to remember the quick vows they made before the king was defeated and Hulk decided to go back. Before the King turned out to have survived and locked Caiera away after she gave birth to the most powerful twins on Sakaar
And the memory is there. The clarity is there. Skaar was his son and Hiro-Kala is his son. One got forced to fight and tortured and mind washed and forced to fight his own family in order to claw for any sense of self while the other had been left to fend for themself and they had to find their way and they hadn't done a good job and that just makes it sting more because Hiro-Kala had tried their best but it just wasn't the good type of best.
Big fight. Just. Big fight. Lots of pain and screaming and both of his parents going out of control before Hiro-Kala calms Caiera down and Skaar calms Hulk down. And tbh hell fucking year im picturing ur art here now where they hug and cry because it fits perfect.
Hulk and Caiera...soft moment with their children before finishing what they started properly and killing the Red king. Well. If it was proper HatAoS they would seal him into the Earth instead of Caiera but I mean. Kill.
And after that there's still a lot to be done and the others need to go back but Caiera and Hiro-Kala take over at royalty with the rest of the Warbound being part of the palace and tbh this is mostly so we can see the relationship develop more over the next season and stretch it out a little more?
Hulk and Caiera agree to pen pal while she fixes Sakaar and he fixes Earth. Maybe a bit of a shippy moment ;) and Skaar... hm. Probably stays on Sakaar for a little bit and I like how it gives him a taste of his home and ultimately would mean that he decides whether or not he wants to be Heir Skaar or Smasher Skaar
And while this happens I'm totally picturing cheesy stuff on Earth where all of the Smashers have a moment of missing Skaar and overall needing a fifth member and the fact that Hulk has growing issues about the fact that he has two sons now and he's...kinda failed them both horribly.
What a time for his daughter to make her first appearance by attacking them and kidnapping Jen eh.

#Bull - Season 5, Episode 4 “The Ex Factor” Episode Review
"TAC BRACES FOR AN UN-JOLLY CHRISTMAS WHEN BULL AND BENNY REPRESENT MARISSA AND HER ESTRANGED HUSBAND IN FEDERAL COURT WHEN THEY’RE CHARGED WITH MONEY LAUNDERING AND FRAUD"  -- Spoiler TV (2020)
Hello and Welcome Longtime followers and Bull Fans; I hope you are well and healthy still during this crazy period, wherever you are located in the world; as this review is going to be the last review for the 2020/2021 tv Season for Bull, I would like to see comments and predictions of what you want to see in 2021 S5 of Bull and so with that let's dive into the final review of 2020 for Bull, Season 5 Ep. 4 of Bull deals and tackles with the “The Ex Factor” – TAC braces for an un-jolly Christmas when Bull and Benny represent Marissa and her estranged husband, Greg (David Furr), in federal court after they’re charged with money laundering and fraud connected to Greg’s restaurant. As Bull and Benny defend the divorcing couple together so the prosecution can’t use them against each other, they search for jurors who will believe Marissa did not know about Greg’s business dealings. Also, as Bull and Izzy prepare to baptize Astrid before the Christmas holiday, they reach an impasse regarding what they want from their renewed relationship (SpolierTv,2020) So let’s dive into the next section of the development of key characters of the episode.
Key Character Development of Episode 4 of Season 5 of Bull This week on Bull, we got to see how they develop the characters overall forward and develop the relationships of certain characters. Let's get into the characters that were a key focus of this episode. 1. Marrisa
So finally, we are getting development in characters that we have not seen since S2 or S3, and this episode highlights what has happened with Marrisa and how she has to fight to get a discovery from her ex-husband and to find out that he has been in a money-laundering scheme with this restaurant, we finally get to see Marrisa in a different light as we are used to having Marisa at TAC watching the screen, it good to see a change in the dynamic of the show
2. Benny
As Bull's Closest friend, we get to see Benny go through the emotions of having him to decide Bull and Issy getting married again and how he was there for Bull, with his truth bombs of wisdom about Issy and his relationship with her before and after the decisive and also get to see more of the context of how Benny and Bull became the close friends that they are today 3. Issy
This week, the Bull writers have finally started to work on Issy. How her feelings are about the divorce and the miscarriage and also what her love for Bull is, and throughout the previous seasons on the show, we get little to no context of information about her character and so this episode for me is one of the best episodes of development for Issy after her introduction episode back in season 1 of the show. I think that she has come a long way from the sort of not relying on Bull to being in a fully committed relationship with him; I will dive into the relationship part further into the review.
4. Bull
In Season 5 of Bull, we have finally got to see MW's soft side, which we have known since the days that he was on NCIS. This episode proves that we need to see more of this side of Bull, as most of his relationships crave this, like with Benny and Issy and his Baby Girl; this episode gives us, bull's side to the story of his feelings was before the divorce, and after the situation happened between the two. I feel that we are going to into a period on the Show of Bull that will be more of a toned-down Bull, that we get to see his emotions, which we will start to seep into the cases that he develops and represents at TAC. The Key Relationship Development That Happen in Episode 4 of S5 of Bull - Bull and Isabella (Issy)
Now with the major cliffhanger of the show, with these two tying the knot again, this episode gave the audience a much-needed glimpse into this relationship as they have been through a lot of ups and downs as a couple. As they are new parents to Baby Bull, we finally get to see some of that love they have for each other again, beginning to rise again. As I have mentioned in my previous reviews of Bull, this relationship needed to be explored more as this couple has been in the past. As through the show's seasons, the writers have eluded to there is more to the story of with these two. P.s. I want to see more of these two together. -Marisa and Her ex-husband
After we get to see the happy couple of the show in Bull and Issy, we show season 5 episode 4 's storyline relationship. We get to see how these two loved each other and placed the trust in each other. Also, we got to see the downfall of the relationship and the lack of communication between them and Marrisa, making sure she has to do everything in her power to make sure that she is protected herself. The resolution of the case was a straightforward point. But I but we see the development of them having Christmas dinner together. To me, which is a little bit of a double edge sword when It comes to their relationship. I hope that the writers start to make sure that Marrisa starts to have more of a relationship with herself and her friends. Bull and Benny
We are back with these two again; in this episode, we get to see Benny dropping the truth bombs of wisdom when it comes to Bull and Issy's relationship as he has been there the whole time from the beginning of the relationship to the breakdown and the reemergence of the relationship, I love FR & MW's scenes together this episode, as it was a bull and Issy focused episode, we finally to get to see the other side of. Benny, as we only get the professional side of Benny in most episodes, and with the changes in Benny's life, I think that we are going to explore more this relationship and Bull, Marrisa, and Benny
This episode was the Christmas episode with a crazy storyline. Still, It had a great development of this relationship and how MW, GC, and FR's performance of this relationship between the characters we are drawn to make sure that they are a brother and sister type of friendship and willing to support her innocence to the end. I hope in S5 part b in 2021, we get to explore these relationships between them, as Benny is getting Ready to move on to a new job soon. Bull and The Tac Team
This episode of Bull gave us a small glimpse of the team in action as the episode was more based on the relationships mentioned above in the review. But I hope in season 5, part B of Bull, and I hope to see more development of the team and the team in action as best it can be achieved in the current world events. The Defence strategy of the case, As this was the last episode of 2020 for S5 of Bull. I was hoping to see a good defense strategy, so we got the following, as the case can be tried as a strong defense with both wife and husband, so there is control of the case's narrative. But I did not see any jury selection for the case. As the team was focused on the case at hand, we got to see a small moment. The best and weird, wacky and worst moments of Season 5 of episode 4 of Bull Best Moments 1. The Production Crew did a great job as always 2. The relationship development of some of the characters that were well needed 3. Benny's Truth Bombs of wisdom 4. The twist at the end of the episode 5. Benny and Bull doing everything to protect Marrisa from the charges
6. GC's performance in the witness box in the courtroom
Weird, Wacky, and Worst Moments of the episode 1. The scene when Benny and Bull are talking about Bull's Christmas present for his sister 2. The scene in the church and Benny is looking awkward 3. The resolution of the court case for the episode 4. I wanted more of TAC in action as we were missing some of the characters as it was a Bull and Issy based episode 5. The scene that I found weird and wacky was the scene before Marrisa testified in court, and they are all in the car together talking Overall thoughts and opinions on Episode 4 of Bull S5 Episode 4 of Bull S5 is a Christmas episode for 2020 as we got to see how the relationship development is going for some of the show's favorite characters. Overall, the episode was full of beautiful and sweet moments and weird, wacky moments that the show is known for. This gave the audience something to be added to the canon of the show, and I like the writers decided to have Issy proposed to Bull as it can be seen as her commitment to the relationship and her love for Bull. I can't wait for S5 part b of Bull to dive into more of these two as I can see them having a long engagement. Also, I loved the juxtaposition of the storylines of relationships on the show, with Marrisa and her ex-husband. It gave the audience some of the struggles that they faced over time. And then eventually the break down of the relationship. Also, in the episode, we got to see Benny dropping his truth bombs of wisdom when it comes to bull and issy, but the one downfall of the episode was that it had limited interaction and the TAC Team's development. I hope that Bull writers in 2021 tackle more of the development there with some of the major characters presented on the show. The Overall Rating for the episode is a 7/10 As this is the last review of 2020 for Bull, as I am writing this review, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New year of 2021. I will be back in 2021 for more recaps on S5 of Bull episodes, but until then, let me know what you like to see in the rest of S5 of Bull in the comments section below. Again Merry Christmas and Have a Safe and Healthy 2021. From the Woman Who Writes TV Reviews

Do you think ABC's late renewals of AOS has worked against its writers? If you watch S4, it's apparent that they had a tighter season because they were given an early renewal during S3 compared to other seasons. That said, I feel like the late renewals started to work against the show after S4 because there was a continuing uncertainty if the show would give S5. In fact, I'm pretty sure there wasn't a plan for S5 and space was a random choice rather than planned out. Thoughts
Adding onto my post about AOS's late renewals. I also think that it worked against the show because actors would take projects without knowing if the show would be renewed that would force the writers to work around them and create obstacles with the story telling. This mainly applies to Iain, and how it affected Fitzsimmons story arc in S5-S7. Their story has literally been reduced to separation arcs without nothing else and I think Iain being demoted to a guest star is the final straw.
Hi Anon,
I think a lot of shows have to deal with renewal roulette and its scary to take the gamble of leaving a massive cliffhanger and then never getting to resolve it.  Lucifer is an example of this, they pulled a major cliffy thinking it would pad their renewal chances and nope Fox pulled the plug, they got lucky that Netflix saved them instead.
The thing with Renewals is the shows have to pitch to the networks what their next season would be as part of the renewal process usually about the time they are writing their finales.  So the writers had to at least have some idea about where they were going. And from what I gather from the interviews with the AOS writers is in these pitches they just started going for broke at the end.
Season 4′s early renewal allowed for a ton of set up in Season 3 with Radcliffe and Mad Science Season 4.   The surprise there was Ghost Rider and the writers working him into it via the pods.
Season 5 they’d pitched space, the writers knew well before the end of Season 4 Iain had been offered Overlord and had the contingency plan in place of “Fitz get’s left behind”, they confirmed in an interview Fitz was always going to be left behind/separated.   Which led to one of my favorite episodes in Rewind so I’m cool.  I also don’t think the network is unhappy with the bottle episodes with all three to date being some of the most acclaimed of the series.    It was in the process of the time loop that the writers realized they could kill Fitz (something they’ve wanted to do but never could) and had now had an out.  This allowed them to go places with Maurader Fitz in his break and then kill him off setting up Season 6.  Which again The Search for Fitz was one of my Fav arcs and gave us Inescapable (cue the choir) I really enjoyed how they had the different arcs going until they literally crashed together mid season.
Season 7 was a surprise for them and ABC came to them mid filming Season 6 because they loved what the writers where doing when they essentially had no “f’s” to give.  And like before Clark, Ming, Chloe, and Iain had other projects lined up.  Thus the writers once again worked around it all.
I’ve noted many times Iain not being a regular anymore is all based on AVAILABILITY not a reflection of how many episodes he’ll actually be in.  Jeff was a regular for Season 6 but wasn’t in 1, 2, 3, or 6.  Joel isn’t a regular for Season 7 but is in IMDB for all but 2 episodes I think.   Iain was not available at certain points of filming Season 7 and its wait and see how that plays out.  I am thankful he and the show worked together to allow him to do both projects nor can we fault any of the actors for accepting work while ABC drug its feet.   But I am holding onto bits like he came back and filmed when he could and there were a number of days they were working multiple scripts.  Not to mention the thing I cling too in that they pulled he and Elizabeth from SDCC to come back and film all day with Jed and Mo...something BIG happened that day and I’ll go down with my ship on that.As for the FItzsimmons separations.  Iain having other projects or no...this was going to happen.  The writers have said many times they like to put obstacles in their way and for Fitzsimmons they use physical separations which I will take over a blasted love triangle any freaking day of the week.
They use these separations to build the story, build the characters, and then build to a big milestone moment for the couple.  This is one of many pieces of Baby Fitzsimmons Perthshire or Bust in the end as that is the next milestone they have in my book.
I accurately predicted the repeated near misses until they finally reunited in Season 6 because it drew out the drama and left us screaming at our TV’s and maybe hurling things at it.  Season 7 I feel the drama will be different be it the secret child theory or just that we know something is wrong with Fitz but the team doesn’t know....Jemma has a sense and that drama keeps building.
While the late renewals were not ideal I think everyone involved wound up making the best of the situations.

Welcome to my ted talk.
So I just watched Catalyst episode(now one of my favs this season whole series) and I just wanted to share my thoughts about it and how this episode foreshadows certain things that might happen in the last episode..
Marinette faces the task of doing a “heroic deed” (even though she is Ladybug) for her classmates during heroes day. She makes promises to them about preparing an “effortful” tasting of different foods for the whole school (something about cakes, pastries, fruits and stuff..I just based it off the subtitles lol)
Tumblr media
Of course the whole class is enticed by her idea especially Adrien (the smol bean really took the time to ask his father if he could go😭)
She tries to convince her parents to help her bake the pastries but their hands are also tied up as well (LB cake for the Mayor) and they couldn’t do anything about it. Marinette doesn’t want to be a disappointment to her class since she has promised them that she will do it.
“I made a big commitment to my class... Now I’m going to disappoint them all.”
Her mom advices her: “There’s still some time to tell them the truth. Your friends will understand.”
Tumblr media
She replies along the lines : “that wouldn’t be heroic though”
But her mom tells her this:
“Having the courage to face your mistakes, that’s heroic.”
Instantly she replies back saying:
That’s right! There’s time for me to make these macaroons myself! (Not listening to what her mom just said, she ends up having burnt macaroons for the class. Yum)
Tumblr media
My point is this:
Throughout the whole show, we’ve seen Ladybug performing the impossible, doing things her own way and never giving in to other’s opinion. There may be times that her actions depends on other people’s opinions especially when she is Marinette.
In certain episodes, Marinette is also naive and indescisve of her own actions. She tries to either ignore, forget or hide her mistakes which shows her being “human” at some point. SHE AVOIDS CONTRONTATION.
Like in Befana, she doesn’t want to disappoint her grandmother so she decides to hide her true feelings about going to the party while being unaware of the consequences of her own actions to her grandmother.
Tumblr media
Or her descision to chicken out last minute when it comes to confessing her feelings to Adrien.
Or her indesciveness when it comes to choosing between Adrien and Luka (you had two hands gurl. CHOOSE BOTH XD. Or just be with Kagami instead XD)
This is contrast to her persona as Ladybug who always seems brave, confident and somewhat decisive in making choices.
Tumblr media
And almost all of the time, as Ladybug, she plans things and does things her own way. Although Chat Noir does help her out (even Carpace, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee), she always in control from planning to capturing the akuma.
Tumblr media
But unknowingly, a storm is brewing.
This is where Catalyst comes in. The episode initiated change. It is not the change itself but the one merely responsible for it.
This episode poses as a sudden threat to not only the mircaulouses but also to that promise that Ladybug made in the first season: “protecting and keeping Paris safe from harm”.
This will be the starting breaking point that will initiate and foreshadow all conflicts in the last episode of the season which I believe is to happen at the “gala” mentioned by Natalie to Gabriel in the latest episode.
Tumblr media
Basing from the current episode, my prediction is that the part 2 “Mayura” episode will begin where it last ended: the heroes may have prepared something for the occassion (of course) in the last scene of Catalyst.
In Mayura, this is where we begin to see Marinette’s shy and indecisive persona mainly emerging from Ladybug as the heroes try to defeat Catalsyt and Hawkmoth.
During S1&2, Ladybug, with Chat noir by her side, had to save and defend Paris from any impeding threat especially Hawkmoth. From a simple task: That’s a heavy burden to carry.
Until now, she faces a much bigger threat and she has all of the heroes by her side (which is awesome since this is the first time we meet them all together in one scene).
Tumblr media
Yes, although there would be more hands to help her defeat Catalyst and Hawkmoth. There is also an increase chance of casualties present within the circle.
ThINK OF It. If ever any of them is captured/seized, one miraculous could become a major point for Hawkmoth’s side. By just seizing one of the heroes, hawkmoth could find a way to rat out the others thus, endangering not only themselves but also their families and even the whole of Paris!
Edit: Chat Noir could be a likely candiate for being one of the casualties in the last episode since he didn’t appear in the S3 poster👀
So just think of the burden and pressure that Ladybug has on her hands. Everything has to be perfectly planned out. A single blip, miss/error could practically ruin their chances of winning the game.
So, in Mayura, we could possibly see Ladybug and her gang following the plan to capture and defeat Hawkmoth. Everything goes perfectly but then-
the plan goes wrong.
A rising confict they didn’t expect, has happened.
Whether it is a reveal between characters/ Mayura being introduced in the episode/Natalie or Hawkmoth taking advantage of the situation
this idea might happen before the gala & the gala might be the cliff hanger for season 3. im calling it but i dont want that to happen
Inevitably, the heroes’ plan fails.
Similar to the incident wherein Marinette promises to make the food-tasting a reality in the catalyst episode.
We also begin to see Ladybug in a state of denial during the Mayura episode. She tries to keep everything under control but the plan goes horribly wrong. She tries to convince the heroes to keep on fighting but they couldn’t do it anymore. Similar to the response that she recieved from her parents, they simply can’t commit to do it. Fighting the akumas and saving Paris has come to a maximum limit.
Then, we begin to see the main breaking point: ladybug conflicted, once again, if she is really upto the task of defeating Hawkmoth & Catalyst.
Like in zombizou, now, the task is entirely upto her to fix the situation.
REMEMBER WHAT HER MOM SAID: “There’s still some time to tell them the truth. [They] will understand.” AND “Having the courage to face [it], that’s heroic.”
This is a long shot but I think her mom’s advice will help her at a crucial moment. Because this time, in order to resolve the problem: defeating Hawkmoth. First, she has to confront him. This is where the leaks of Ladybug with Hawkmoth in the secret basement perfectly fits. The episode will slowly unravel long-awaited truths the fandom has all been dying for since the first season. Ultimately, preparing the journey for season 3.
Ladybug gathers up her remaining her strength. Somehow, she captures Hawkmoth and seizes his Miraculous, but not realizing he and his akumas are just the cherry on top. Now, she has to look for the creme of the crop. The queen behind the King: Natalie Catalyst Mayura
While some of the heroes are looking catalyst (who somehow managed to become Mayura at this point), seeing that they have accomplished so much: uniting against all odds and “finally” defeating evil, they decided at some point to call off the search for the mean time as they decide to celebrate (thru the gala) since this time, they have captured Hawkmoth. (Not knowing her true powers) and besides, it’s heroes’ day!
Once again, Paris is now at peace and thanks to the heroes, everyone is safe from harm.
Or at least it seems to be.
As the gala begins, Mayura makes her debut as she disrupts the event, causing chaos
THEN-
Credits roll-
See you again the NEXT SeAsoN! 🙂🙃
BeCaUsE tHatS hOW THE SHoW WoRKS!
Tumblr media
Sounds depressing right? But seeing the latest episode. Chat Noir uses cataclysm on himself... is this even a kid’s show? I won’t be surprised if they pull of a cliff-hanger that will leave the fandom devasted. (I call dibs on this)
But I hope her pals would step in to help her and use all of their remaining strength and power to stop whatever brewing storm may be in the last episode and everything ends with a happily ever after. i dont want a cliff hanger pls
So basically my theory for the Mayura episode:
The episode will focus more on the heroes’ journey of defeating and discovering Hawkmoth’s true identity while setting up Mayura as the main villain for season 3
Details about the Miraculous, Gabriel’s motif behind the miraculous and Momma Agreste will be further revealed
This might be too early but i still want this to happen There will be a crucial point wherein heroes/villains may reveal their real identities to each other
The gala will either be the next main location in the episode wherein the heroes’ plan will take place or it will be the place wherein Mayura will be revealed after Hawkmoth is initially defeated by the heroes—cliffhanger for the next season
PS if my speculations are wrong, at least this idea could be a potential fanfic or something LOL
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Do you think they stayed true/close to the book? Many peeps say they did but I do not think so! Thoughts?
Who are these people saying they stayed true to the books?
If you look at the plot and the story of what needed to be told: sure, they stayed true. But, the way it was executed failed horribly. The first half of the season was well done imo. I did find fault in the cutting of scenes between Jamie and Claire (on the rocks in favor of Thermo) and there was a real rush once they go to the ridge. How many boring dinner parties must we be subjected to watch?
Drums is about family and for the first time, Jamie and Claire get to settle down and find their groove. I feel like minimal time was actually spent on showing this and thinking back, I might actually be able to re-watch pre 4x07 episodes bc they were closer to the books than later episodes.
The best two episodes were 4x05 “Savages” and 4x09 “The Birds and The Bees”. These two felt most like “Outlander”, even with the addition of bringing Murtagh back, I never felt like in that moment it wasn’t fitting with the source material. With 4x09, it was the best book to screen adaption. There were changes in the timing of conversations (when she called him Da), but it was well done.
Other than that, this season was all about Roger and that makes my stomach hurt. He became their Fronk 2.0 and it’s a damn shame that they traded Young Ian for him after all the searching they did for him in S3. I’ll never forgive the writers for deciding that having Jamie and Claire there for Bree wasn’t important enough. Never. And the dramatic cheesy reunion with Bree and Roger? Puhlease. Don’t get me started. The also dramatic “cliffhanger”  was lame and usually after an Outlander season finale, we are left with a hopeful expectation, but this time I was rolling my eyes. They should have shortened Roger’s rescue time on screen. FFS WE SPENT 3 EPISODES LOOKING FOR HIM AND THEN IN 2 MINUTES THEY MAKE THE JOURNEY BACK TO RIVER RUN!!! This season should have ended at the gathering like the book or back at Fraser’s Ridge to complete the arc of finding a home. This was very long, whoops!

Everything of note that I have to say about Wakfu season 3:
I get that it’s old news at this point, but I finally got around to watching the new season of Wakfu & I really do have a ton to say about it... in list form!
1. It’s very good.
2. SPOILERS... duh...
3. I think I should’ve watched The Search For The Six Eliatrope Dofus first. I think the characters reference what happens in that a few times & whenever they did, I was like “what the fuck are they talking about?”
4. I don’t know why they changed the English voice cast, but it wasn’t a very good idea. It took me a few episodes to get used to them, & though I did get used to it & they did a fine enough job. Just not as good as the original cast.
5. I think this is why half of the words change pronunciation. Iop & Ruel are pronounced like how they’re spelled, which sounds like a good thing, but I always felt like pronouncing them like “Yop” & “Ruul” sounded more realistic. Adding that extra syllable is creating more work for whoever’s saying it & I think in a world that’s supposed to seem like it’s existed for millenniums, those kinds of words would’ve been shortened down to 1 syllable. I wouldn’t be complaining if that’s not how they were pronounced in the first 2 seasons.
6. Adamai is a surprisingly good villain. Of course, I think he’s much better as a protagonist, but as the antagonist; he’s a menacing figure that every member of the Brotherhood Of The Tofu have a history with, & the animation does a great job at showing the struggles he has when fighting them & vice versa.
7. I fucking hate the Dragon Ball Z-esc design for Adamai! It could just be my general disliking of DBZ, but that design really doesn’t do anything for me.
8. I think they made Adamai a bad guy because Oropo isn’t a very interesting main antagonist. Granted, it’s not like this show is known for its great villains (in fact, Oropo is by far my favorite of the them so far), but he ends up being pretty disappointing. Particularly because the framework is there for a great villain: a connection to the heroes, a memorable plot, a great motivation... it just never comes together for a very interesting villain.
9. I think it’s because most of that stuff isn’t really focused on until the last couple of episodes, making him uninteresting for most of the season & when it’s finally focused on, it’s too little too late.
10. Evangelyne & Percedal are great parents! This really is the natural continuation of their relationship after they had their “happily ever after” at the end of season 2. And whenever they’re on screen together, they have so much romantic chemistry it literally kills me.
11. I fucking love they’re kids too! It’d be so easy to make them one-dimensional slabs to motivate Percedal, but they have just as great & interesting personalities as any other member of the Brotherhood. Of course, I prefer Elely mostly because we spend more time with her, but I also just prefer her character type.
12. I don’t like that they have Eva, probably the most badass protagonist, as the “damsel in distress”. I get that they don’t want a pregnant character out in the front lines of battle, but still.
13. Every season has a fake-out death: S1 had Percedal & that lasted for a few episodes into the next season, S2 had a scene & a half of Ruel faking a heart attack, & S3 had Evangelyne almost die. It was kinda ingenious: for a minute, it genuinely had me worried, wondering if they had the balls to kill off a pregnant main character. Good thing they didn’t, probably for the best.
14. Holy shit, they actually had the balls to show a baby’s birth! I’d imagine they’d have an easier time getting that death past Netflix!
15. I haven’t looked up what the consensus is on this, but I’m willing to bet I have a controversial opinion on this: I actually really like the romance between Amalia & Yugo. It feels very genuine & natural; they have a ton of chemistry between them. Unlike with most romances, where it’s pretty obvious they’ll end up together by the end, I honestly didn’t know if that was the route they were going to take because Yugo still looks 10!
16. Keeping Yugo looking 10 was a great way to add more tension & drama to the already dramatic & tension-filled story.
17. Past seasons have had a good mixture of dramatic & comedic elements, but this season pumped up the drama & backed off of the comedy. I guess this is expected since this is the first season made by Netflix & their shows have been significantly more dramatic than most cable TV animated shows, largely because they’re meant to be binge-watched instead of once a week.
18. Netflix also tends to strip down its shows to the bare minimum for the story it’s telling. This is normally a good thing, but I think Wakfu was one of those shows that utilized filler episodes really well to show more of a connection & backstory of the characters. Basically, I wanted more filler episodes.
19. I don’t know why Ruel was in this. I get that he’s one of the main characters & they try to have him seem like he has a point by throwing in his wife for no real reason. He’s getting too old to fight & he doesn’t throughout most of the season. I’d bet he’d end up staying behind to babysit Eva & Dali’s new baby next season (if there is one).
20. Each of the demigods the Brotherhood fight are interesting & unique in their own right, they all feel like they’ve always existed & were merely waiting to be introduced in the show rather than feel like they were invented in a day for their exact episode.
21. The show in the past has always felt like it was aiming for a pretty young audience (like “Baby’s First Engaging World”), but between the focus on more dramatic elements, all of the couples getting together, & Adamai’s new design; I think the new target audience is closer to older children/young teenagers. Those just old enough to be nostalgic over anime like Dragon Ball Z & Naruto but just young enough to embrace the more childish nature moments of past seasons. A natural evolution of this long-running franchise.
22. The world & universe this show has spent the better part of 2 seasons to build is built up even more throughout the entirety of season 3. It really feels livable, like you could just walk right into your TV & right in this world! This is an element that’s really hard to nail (only done well in the most prestigious of franchises with huge fanbases like Star Wars & Harry Potter... & My Little Pony) & it does so perfectly!
23. This is easily my favorite season of the show so far, building upon the incredible blocks already created by the first 2 seasons.
24. I really hope there’s a 4th season! There’s been word from random websites & blogs by so-called writers saying there will be one either 2019 or 2020. I do think it’s inevitable considering the show is at peak popularity & critical praise & this season ended on a cliffhanger. I just want it before I die of old age!
25. I think Wakfu, though more popular than ever before, is still nowhere near as popular as it deserves to be. I always called it, “that show all your animator friends really like,” & that still rings true. If you have any doubts about whether or not to watch it, just do it! It’s a great show that deserves all the praise it’s gotten from fans & critics (& that’s a lot of praise!).

It’s Frahn-ken-shteen... [a Season 3 thought experiment]
As we near the finale of S3, I've been focusing more and more on what the season has done well, and what I've noticed is that they've introduced a lot of really cool and interesting ideas-- they just weren’t executed particularly well.
It’s like they threw all these ideas at the wall of the writers room and just said “okay go”. As ideas, none of them are completely horrendous. With a little more care, they could have been crafted into a really strong season serving Kara's narrative and give it both weight and direction.
So I gave myself a challenge-- if I dissected the season into it’s main story plots, and stitched them back together to create a more coherent narrative, what would the season have looked like?
Here's what I came up with:
(warning: it’s a long one, complete with gifs)
For me, the load-bearing arcs of the season should have been the Kryptonian cult and Argo City. With those two as the stanchions of the main story plot, everything else would work to support them.
Coville’s cult would be the main villain of Season 3a. Instead of the sporadic all or nothing that cropped up here and there, they'd be running in the background the entire front half. They don't have to be the focus for every episode, but we as the audience would know that the DEO knows they're dangerous, and knows they're up to something.
Tumblr media
Rather than being schooled by Coville in her own religion, Kara knows about Worldkillers-- they’re what people on Earth call urban legends. Spooky stories meant to teach Kryptonian children the value of trusting in Rao and obeying his doctrine. They’re ghost stories, and here the human idiot Coville is trying to worship them (and perverting Rao’s word-- let’s not forget that). This flips their dynamic so that Kara is more secure in her knowledge of Krypton than Coville is in his, and also sets the stage for the cult threat to segue into the Reign threat in 3b.
What Coville does do is spark Kara’s search for fragments of Krypton that might have survived and made it to Earth. We could have one bottle episode where she’s traveling the world hunting for another probe, and maybe that’s how she finds the Legion’s ship. She also finds some troubling records/notes in Coville’s cult that leads to some uncharted area of space that should be empty, so why is there a note? That’s how they find Argo (and Alura) for the midseason cliffhanger.
Tumblr media
In 3b, we would take our time exploring Argo and seeing Kara really struggle with all the awesome/awfulness of finding her people again, and being torn between two worlds. She would get a chance to face and address the nasty and complicated emotions that comes with being unbelievably happy her mother is alive but also how could you send me away? Don’t you know I would’ve rather died with you? How could you use me to lure Alura in for arrest? How could you let our planet die??
Tumblr media
And while we spend a few episodes on Argo, we’d spend some time seeing what life is like on Earth without Supergirl. This is where we’d see the really powerful arc of J’onn and M’yrnn, Alex slowly coming to terms with losing Maggie and Kara back to back-- and her slowly looking into the idea of adoption, with lots of hesitation and uncertainty.
We see her feeling like her friends were really just Kara’s friends, and her loneliness just comes crashing down until Lena and Sam come knocking for girl’s night. James runs into his identity reveal crisis, Winn runs into his mom, and we see the final stages of Sam’s transformation.
Kara starts sensing something is wrong when she starts seeing elements of Coville’s cult on Argo (the priestesses have been in direct contact with Coville for some time). Her suspicions are confirmed when she receives a distress call from Alex at the DEO-- there’s a new Kryptonian in town, and her name is Reign.
Tumblr media
Because the nebulous use of “dark magic” to explain anything Worldkiller is anathema to me as a storyteller, the trinity’s origin/purpose would be the biggest actual change I make to this season. The “witches” may still create Reign, but with science rather than magic and it would tie back into the lore because they created her to embody the boogeyman-figure of Kryptonian legend.
Once her premise is firmed up, Reign’s purpose would come out of that-- either she’s judge/jury/executioner for National City’s criminal element, or she’s a planet-killer. Maybe she’s both: if humans refuse to be ruled in fear, they can perish with the rest of their planet. But it’ll be more clearly developed, and not a sporadic “oh she can tunnel through the earth now just because” (also: Julia wouldn’t die. That was a shitty, unnecessary development)
Tumblr media
The season would end with Alura and some choice friends from Argo coming to Earth’s aid alongside Supergirl. Once Reign is defeated, Kara now faces her choice of Argo or Earth. She chooses Earth. It’s her home now. She has family here, and a duty to protect the people who gave her a planet to call home. Alura wishes she too could choose to remain, but she has her own duty on Argo. She failed them once-- she can’t do it again. But they can still visit each other, and communicate via hologram: no more programmed “I do not have sufficient data...” responses from Alura. It’ll be the real thing, whevever Kara needs her.
Tumblr media
Now, some addendums:
The Legion of Superheroes -
Tumblr media
As soon as Kara finds them, they’re featured heavily for about 3 episodes in the penultimate climax of the midseason finale, and then they’re sent on their way. Mon-el is happily married and devoted to his wife. Seeing him happy, with serious purpose, is what Kara needs to move on. Yes, it sucks to still lose him, but he’s alive and doing well, and that allows her to start healing.
Sam & Ruby -
Tumblr media
I am 100% okay for Sam’s arc to remain relatively the same. I’ve loved getting to know her and Ruby, and I’m really attached to both of them now. The only thing I’d change is on the back end of stuff-- maybe tailor the promotional material/interviews to keep some of Reign’s development secret. I would have loved to meet Sam without already knowing that she’s going to become Reign.
I would also maybe tone down the whole Alex-Ruby dynamic. It’d still be there, but not quite so in your face. The perfect fix would be Alex and Sam getting involved, but I would be very mindful of the timing so as not to do any discredit to how important Maggie was in Alex’s development and growth as a person.
Morgan Edge -
Tumblr media
Since Morgan Edge didn’t end up affecting Kara’s arc at any point in this season, I would have left him to act as Lena’s foil throughout the entire season. They’re evenly matched in resources and ambition, and I would have loved to see Lena play more against him in their battle of wits.
For me, her battle with Edge would be a more interesting exploration of her Luthorness than the Great Kryptonite Rift. How would the shifting dynamic between her, Supergirl, and Kara have influenced Lena’s strategy against Edge? Would she become more ruthless as Supergirl’s faith in her waned? Would she rise above, and take some sort of high road in Kara’s absence? Not to mention, what would have happened if Lillian came back into her life AFTER Supergirl bites her head off over the Kryptonite?
In summary, I would just reorganize the season to slow the big ideas down and really take the proper time delving into the heart of the characters. Especially with Kara and her search for a connection to Krypton in 3a and dealing with actually finding it in 3b. And then we’d be able to clearly see and understand her personal revelation in the finale: Supergirl is neither wholly Kara Zor-el, nor Kara Danvers.
She’s both, and all the stronger for it.

June 18, 2021
lol I think I might have to factory reset my laptop :D
to be fair, this is what I get for messing around with things I don’t understand.
ugh, it’s just that it’s such a hassle I’d need to completely set up my computer all over again.
luckily, I suppose, it’s the summer and I have an alternate laptop for the time being.
Oh um update, I also wanna learn to play The Glacier House by (guess who~) The Crane Wives.  I already know the majority of the chords anyway,,, so.   At this point I might as well say that I want to just cover their entire discography (...don’t tempt me).
You know, it was only a matter of time before I returned to Western/folksy/country-esque music.  I’ve been listening to songs from the Undeadwood OST almost continuously since I watched the series (...I could’ve sworn that I’d watched it during the summer after my senior year, but it apparently didn’t even air until the fall of my first semester in college??  I tried to search for a mention of it on this blog because I’m sure I must’ve said something about it, but as we all know, the search capabilities are a little lacking on this site, unfortunately), so.
Anyway I saw this summer dating challenge on tiktok and while I don’t intend to go on any dates anytime soon (more on that in a future entry), I actually really liked the idea of it!  So, from what I recall, the challenges are as follows: on a weekly basis, you are to get out of the house four times a week, compliment someone five times a week, and take yourself on a solo date once a week.  Now, with the cicadas out and about, I definitely don’t think I’ll be doing the going out four times a week part, at least not right now, and I think five compliments is a little high for me at this point.  However, I think it could be a cool thing to keep in mind for when the semester starts back up!  I’ve already talked about how much I loved taking myself out to the movies last semester back when I was on campus, so committing to a once weekly or biweekly thing should be fun and manageable for sure!
So, Manifest is being cancelled (found out on r/scifi which is basically a hive mind on what is good vs. bad science fiction entertainment, and they don’t really permit a lot of nuanced opinions there) which like,, I mean on one hand I know in my mind that S3 ended on a cliffhanger, but idk on the other hand, it was just okay.  Like, I, of course, wanted my Lost fanfic theory to be true (even though I knew it wasn’t), but I felt like a lot of the character decisions were just... not good??  I don’t often agree with the folks on r/scifi, but I think I agree and understand how you can tell if a show is story-focused (essentially, has an ending in mind) or drama-focused (essentially, makes the most twists and turns to keep the show running as long as possible): if a character is faced with a decision and they make one that almost exclusively raises the drama, then the show is probably less story-driven and more drama-driven.
Many in the r/scifi thread referred to the show as a “diet Lost,” one of many that have popped up since Lost went off the air.  I basically agree.  Idk, I guess it’ll be interesting to see whether the next show on NBC that my dad and I pick up will star Josh Dallas too lol (we stuck through all the seasons of Once Upon A Time, so).  I sort of just wish that US shows were run more similarly to UK shows: they know from the start how many seasons they want to run.  Spinoffs and such can certainly happen to continue the story, but at least the audience and network know how long it’ll be up for.
Oh!  Apparently Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has also been cancelled, wow!  So I’m running low on all my shows omg.  (Not really.  I have an extensive To Watch list on Netflix.)
Did my ukulele practice today (for two hours)!  I feel almost the exact same way I did after accidental two hour sax sessions: exhausted physically and mentally.  Chord changes are hard!  Strumming patterns are very hard!!  I tried some Crane Wives songs (honestly, that’s what pushed me into the extra hour) which was definitely cool.  I’m on my way to getting almost all of Tongues and Teeth down (at 0.6x speed, without singing, not memorized, still glancing at my fingers for every chord change (especially G), mostly disregarding strumming patterns... but hey!  It’s only day two :P).  I tried the second day in my tutorial series that I’m watching and worked on a single chord change (Am to G) for literally half an hour with a metronome.  It’s definitely something I’ll be returning to tomorrow.
My fingertips hurt.  Sort of like how my jaw and neck/back would be sore after an extra-long sax session.  I think I’m going to have to place a daily practice upper limit of an hour with a lower limit of fifteen minutes.  That feels reasonable.
Alrighty.  Today I’m thankful for... honestly I’m thankful for... I am thankful for~~ for... oh, well, I suppose I’m thankful that I have an extra work laptop that I can use while I fix my own.
K.  I need to get actual sleep tonight, so I’ll catch y’all later!
