MOVIE NIGHT; C. MONAGHAN

WARNINGS: SMUT - this is rushed and boring, but cam posted that pic (yesterday, when i made this) and it’s so hot so i needed to write something even though nothing correlates 😭 pwp!! also, obvi you need a condom or be on the pill but this is a fic so.. go with the flow!!

A/N: i am SO excited for halloween, so it’s (sort of?) set up during October!! - the pic im talking about is the middle one btw!!

SUMMARY: A sweet movie night with Cameron ended in something more

The smell of cinnamon wafted through the small apartment.

The candle was brand new as the flame on top was slowly burning down farther. The scent was relaxing as it overtook the room inside your living space, adding a nice aura to the interior.

Plastic pumpkins were spaced out on different tables, fake spiders were hung up on the walls, and small lights were hung up on the table that supported the tv. Decorating for halloween was always fun since you could go any direction you wanted to. Staying up late and watching horror movies or buying candy and using the excuse that you had trick or treaters at the door.

Tonight, you and your friend Cameron were planning a movie night. Whenever he was free, you both would message back and forth, trying to figure out plans to see each other. Last week, you both came to the agreement to binge scary movies and stay inside. You had been the one to suggest the idea and Cameron immediately accepted, saying that it would be nice to relax because of his work situation.

The both of you had known each other for years. It started as a school friendship when you two were little, occasionally having playdates or hanging out on the playground. Once you both started middle school, you both would hangout at each other’s houses and would walk around the neighborhood to buy some ice cream. Eventually, as more time passed, the both of you grew even closer and kept in touch frequently. Even with his busy schedule for his acting, he managed to sort out his plans and always made sure he had time for you.

You always tried to tell yourself that it was true and it was just a thought in the back of your head that just wanted attention. But as you matured, you dreadfully came to the conclusion that you had feelings for your best friend. You were in denial for so long, that only recently you realized. It was hard to push those thoughts away when you were with him, but he never seemed to notice. At least that’s what you told yourself.

Your phone vibrated against the coffee table as you rushed over to grab it. A smile graces your lips as you see the notification laying on top. Speak of the devil…

Omw! It’s my turn to pick the movie this time Y/N! Don’t think you can persuade me again.. ;)

A laugh bubbles up from your throat as you reread his text. The last time you both had a movie night, it was his turn to pick a movie he liked. When he ended up picking one you weren’t particularly a fan of, you managed to make him switch his decision in promise of you making his favorite food. It was quite easy to make him bend to your will, but you always told yourself that it’s just what friends do for each other. You would’ve done the same thing for him.

As you turn on the tv, it sits on the main menu, waiting for instructions. Setting down the remote, you make your way over towards the candy you had bought earlier that day and poured it into a bowl; resting it on the coffee table so you both could share the snacks while the movie played.

As soon as you reached out to grab your phone, there were two knocks at your door before hearing it open. Your lips curled up automatically at the sound. A glimpse of ginger hair was seen before he walks away from the door, towards you.

“Hey, Y/N.” Cameron smiles wide as he walks to you. He quickly wraps his arms around your shoulders and brings you close to him. The close proximity makes your face feel hot, but you put your arms around his torso in response.

“Hey, Cam.” The smile on your face was heard through your words. You pull away and look up at him as you both take away your arms. His eyes scan around your apartment, taking in all of the decorations.

“Wow, you really went all out this year.” He chuckles, picking up a plastic pumpkin that sat on the small table in front of the couch. It looked almost miniature in his palm, his fingers engulfing the object.

“You know how much I love Halloween, Cam.” You smile and walk around him and towards the couch. Your hands wrapped around the small remote and you hold it out. “It’s your turn.” You hand it to him as you watch his pale digits put down the pumpkin and grab the remote from you.

He gives you a smirk before sitting down on the couch and spreading out his legs. He looked at your apartment like it was his. That was just one thing you liked about him; how comfortable he was with you. It made you feel fuzzy inside; a safe feeling.

Walking over towards the light switch you flick it down as the only light source is the tv and the small orange lights that hung on the small table that was supporting the electronic. Cameron was still scrolling through Netflix, listing off the pro’s and con’s of each one that he didn’t choose. An occasional laugh sounded from your mouth when he would say something bad about one every now and then.

You took a seat next to him on the cushion as your eyes swept across his face. His side profile was just as beautiful as the front; his perfectly shaped nose, his pink lips and his green eyes staring forward. Before he could catch you, your eyes averted away from him and towards the screen.

“This is why I never let you pick. You take forever, Cam.” You tease him, laughing softly. Your back rested on the pillow that was against the arm on the couch, facing the man that sat a couple feet from you. You nudge his thigh with your foot as you smile, holding back a laugh that wanted to leave your throat.

Suddenly, he grabs your foot and moves it away from him. “Watch where you’re putting that thing.” He teases with a smile. He sends you a wink before looking back at the screen, the bright light illuminating his features.

A light stubble graced his jaw and wrapped around his chin, trailing up above his top lip. His sharp jawline was still visible, even with the lights off. As your eyes trailed down his arm, they met with his hand that gripped the remote. Two rings held a finger each, the silver band grasping them tight.

The sound of a movie starting harshly ripped you out of your daydream. He leans forward and sets down the remote on the coffee table and then leans back on the couch, stretching his arm out on the back of it.

“What is this?” You says begrudgingly, but the smile on your face told otherwise. He looks over at you with a smirk.

“Scream, duh.” Before you could open your mouth, he puts a finger up. “C’mon, Y/N. It’s a classic. You can’t not watch Scream when it’s Halloween time.” Cameron teases and pokes your leg. He laughs when you swat at him, retreating his arm to rest on the back of the couch again. It didn’t take much convincing for you to agree, letting the title screen show.

Minutes into the movie, your position grows uncomfortable. Your side started to ache as you lie on it and your legs are started to cramp up as they’re pressed against you. Without your knowledge, Cameron notices your predicament. Startling you, a hand pats your leg gently. “You can stretch out your legs, Y/N.” He assures you, giving you that perfect smile of his. You swore that smile alone could make you melt.

You quickly accept his offer and move onto your back, leaning against the pillow. You straighten out your legs fully, before moving them back into the spot they were before. You were close with Cameron, but you didn’t want to push anything. Especially with the thought in the back of your mind that kept reminding you about your undeniable crush on him.

You hear a quiet sigh before hands grab your legs and stretch them across his lap. It catches you off guard at first, looking away from the tv to see what your friend was doing. You were leaning back on the pillow that rested against the arm of the couch as your body was facing Cameron, your legs now straight and laying on his lap. You couldn’t say you were upset about it.

He doesn’t say anything as he stares forward, watching Stu, Billy, Sydney and Tatum have a conversation. You try and swallow down a smile, looking away from him and back to the screen. A warm hand rested on your shin, a hot feeling running through your body.

Seconds to minutes pass by, his finger slowly starting to move back and forth, rubbing against the fabric of your pants. Maybe it was a subconscious thing, maybe not, but either way, it made you feel giddy. Other movie nights consisted of hugs, talking, sharing food, some times cuddling, but tonight felt different. The mood wasn’t the same, and the intentions didn’t feel familiar.

His other hand came down and rested on the same leg, starting to get higher. It sat on your knee, drawing small circles into the soft fabric with his thumb. Cameron still hasn’t taken one look away from the movie, whether that was on purpose, to add to the teasing, or just because he was too afraid to see your reaction.

The room started to feel warmer as the cinnamon smell of the candle still traveled through the tense air. As Ghostface talked to Sydney on the phone, the sounds of the movie started to get quieter. It felt like everything was changing. You weren’t sure if you were making up this whole situation and Cameron was just making a sweet gesture towards you, but you made it out to be the opposite; that he had the same feelings for you and that he wanted to act on them. At least that’s what you were hoping for.

The warm sensation of his hand gradually moved up, now landing on your thigh. Your eyes never left his face as he finally looked away from the tv and met your gaze. His eyes were as soft as ever, showing no hostility or aggression. He was being sweet, just as you thought earlier.

“Can I?” It came out as a whisper, his pink lips barely moving. Over time, his body grew closer to yours. Responding to him without words, you moved up from your leaning position and became just inches away from his face. You nodded your head fast as your hand gently held his jaw.

“Can I?” You whisper back, staring down at his lips. He nods softly, quickly leaning forward and meeting your lips together. His were soft, a little chapped as you suspected that he was biting them earlier. The pressure of your top lip in between his sent chills down your spine as you maneuvered your body to straddle him. He groaned into the kiss at your new position, resting his hands on the outside of your thighs gently.

Breaking away from the kiss, you both kept yourselves just inches away from each other. Your lips were hot with his breath as you stared into his eyes and vice versa. His pupils were dilated as he looked at you, never once taking his eyes off of yours. The eye contact wasn’t filled with lust, more so a hunger for each other. It was sweet and loving, something that you craved from him.

“Fuck, Y/N..” Cameron’s voice was deeper as he whispered, squeezing his hands on your skin. That was all you needed to pull him in for another kiss. It was heated and messy, tongues meeting and teeth clashing. Your hand traveled to the back of his head, clutching his bright orange hair into your hand. The groan that escaped his mouth could’ve made you cum on the spot.

His hands drifted up and rested on your hips and squeezed. The unexpected pressure made your hips roll forwards against his lap, moans escaping the both of your lips. Both of your hands cupped the sides of his face as you broke apart, keeping close to each other. Silent words were exchanged to the other, wondering what was happening. Neither of you tried to stop it.

“Can I take care of you?” Cameron’s voice was quiet, but you heard it perfectly. The room was quiet to you, the sound of the tv only becoming background noise. It was just the both of you, sitting together, kissing. It felt like a dream.

“Yes. Please.” Your words left your mouth immediately. Giving in to him was an automatic response, something that you would agreed to in an instant. It was like second nature to you.

A soft smile takes over his lips, leaning forward to press them against yours. The kiss was gentle this time, telling you how much he enjoyed this; that he wasn’t taking advantage of it. It was reassuring in a sense that you felt like you could trust him to do anything in that moment. You wouldn’t have to be on cloud nine for that though.

Feeling a hand wound up your back and applying enough pressure against you, he starts to lean forward and moves you onto your back. The kiss never breaks as your positioned back onto the couch with Cameron hovering over you now. Your hand moved up to cup his cheek as you deepen it, gently nipping at his bottom lip before sliding your tongue across it. Almost immediately, he accepts your offer. Your free hand traveled down his side and clutched his shirt tightly, signaling that you wanted it off.

You’ve seen Cameron without a shirt numerous times, whether it was going for a swim, on a show, coming out of the shower, but his perfect stature never failed to leave you staring.

He leaves your lips to bring his hands behind his back and throws his shirt off, absentmindedly tossing it somewhere neither of you cared for at the moment. Your hands raked down his toned torso, a small patch of ginger hair leading into his pants. His v-line was impressive, the sharp edges quickly catching your attention. His abs were flexed as he hovered over you, making sure not to put any of his weight on top of you.

His warm palms glided under your shirt, teetering at the edge of your pants. You lift up your arms, inviting him to take the fabric off of you. He follows through quickly as he takes it off and throws it in the same direction as his. He leans down and scatters kisses on your neck, traveling to your jawline and down. His lips kept getting lower, kissing down your collarbone and sucking on the skin. A soft moan was taken from your throat at the sudden pleasure, your hand returning to his hair and tugging gently. His lips vibrated against your skin, sending a new sensation through your body.

They weren’t anything special, normal underwear you’d get from the store for cheap.

“Cute.” He teases and hooks his finger in the top of them with a quiet laugh. Heat raises on your face as you smack his shoulder lightly, causing a chuckle to leave him. Your hands fumbled with his belt quickly, wanting it gone. He broke away with a chuckle, noticing your urgency. He takes your hands in his to stop you and lets them go before undoing his belt and fly, throwing his pants somewhere across the room.

Catching him off guard this time, you push him back against the couch and move down on the floor. You were kneeling in front of him as your hands met with the soft waistband of his boxer briefs. Cameron’s hand reached forward and rested on the back of your head gently, letting you take your time. You leaned forward and scattered light kisses on the print through the fabric, teasing him when you kiss his tip. His jaw clenched at the feeling and his hand grew tighter in your hair.

As you reached forward to move your hands into his boxers, he lifted up his hips so you could take them off. Setting them off to the side, you took in his naked body before you. It was better than your dreams and imagination. You were convinced he was sculpted by a god.

Wrapping your hand around him, he inhaled sharply at the quick action. Stroking up and down slowly to tease him, you keep eye contact with him. A whisper of a smirk graces the corner of his lips when he realizes what you were doing. You lean forward suddenly and take the tip in your mouth, moving your tongue around him. A guttural moan escapes him, sending a certain kind of heat straight to your core.

You started to move your head up and down, taking as much of him as you could. The hand on the back of your head encouraged you as you took him deeper, stroking what you couldn’t handle. Quiet curses and stutters were said from under his breath, just barely catching your ears. The thought of you causing him this much pleasure was exhilarating, a sense of pride overtaking you.

As you feel his hand get tighter and his body starting to stiffen, it was obvious to you that he was getting close. He pushes you back as his chest heaves up and down. It wasn’t entirely lust driven, it felt intimate and nice to have him so close to you. It was a safe kind of feeling, something you hoped to feel more of.

The sound of skin slapping skin started to get louder as time passed, his short nails digging into the same spot they were earlier. Cameron leans down quickly, smashing your lips together in a desperate kiss. Tongues battle and teeth fight, the both of you chasing your release. Your body started to tighten, the knot inside of you beginning to snap.

“Fuck, you’re squeezing me so tight.” His words were mumbled, so caught up with the pleasure he was feeling. He could tell you were close at the feeling of your walls wrapping tightly around him. It drove him closer to the edge, getting enough energy to thrust harder inside you, hitting that perfect spot that made you cry out.

As soon as your body shook with pleasure and mouth opened, he joined you, his nails piercing your skin and your name leaving his lips like a song. Once the both of you relaxed, his body slumped down on yours, his muscles tense and his body tired. A soft laugh left you and your arms enveloped around his shoulders, one of your hands coming up to brush through his hair softly.

The both of you lied there as seconds turned to minutes, minutes turned to hours until you both ended up falling asleep. You guess tomorrow will be the day you guys figure everything out, but you have a feeling that everything’s gonna be okay.

Your best friend, and your crush, was laying in your arms. And that was all you ever needed.

Hi. Many fans disappointed with new chapter. I see many complaining. I am more pissed because of Bakugo.

I am now sure that in next chapter Izuku will be catched by Ochako or sonehow Shigaraki give Izuku OFA back or his original quirk. Dont know.

How do you think DFO will be revealed then Shigaraki and AFO destroyed? Both spirituality and phisicaly.

Well, its no wonder people are upset after that shitfest of a chapter. That propably was the most anticlimactic final bossfight I have ever seen in a manga and after all the talking how izuku wants to safe tomura, dude just dies and izuku is fine with it. He just failed his attempt to save the person he wanted to save the most, but hey I guess the fistbum makes up for it (it does NOT!) Im actually curious how the japanese fanbase reacted to all of that.

I mean, of course hori had to force bakugou in it for a final time. Hes his golden baby boy afterall. Izuku cant do anything without bakugous or other peoples help. He is not allowed to shine on his own in his own fight against the main villain in HIS story. Nope, bakugou needed to help to give the final blow to afo TWICE, because HE is the true VIP of mha! I have actually seen quite a few bakugou fan who were not happy about it. If even his FANS complain about how forced and unnecessary that part was, maybe hori should ask himself if his staning for that one specific character is not going a little bit to far. I mean, seems like we just were all dumb. At the beginning of the story we were told izuku is a useless loser because he cant do anything without the help of others and in the end it turns out it was true. How could we not see that comming? The mc was not allowed to defeat the main villain himself and needs others, espicially his abuser to help him. Wow, what a great message! And the most depressing point is that hori was clearly trying to make that look like a positiv thing. There is one thing I can say for sure. I will never touch any work from hori ever again.

If this was really the conclusion of the final fight, then congratulation hori, you managed to write a more rushed and horrible conclusion for your story, then tite kubo did with bleach (which to be fair was not kubos fault but shonen jumps). Hori did literally EVERY SINGLE character except bakugou dirty and in the end even startet to write against his own established themes in the story.

Regarding dfo: I already mentioned it a few times in the past. Im still positiv dfo is canon BUT I also said I dont think anymore that dfo will end in a satisfying way. Which actually goes against what hori said, that readers wont feel dissapointed when he reveals hisashis true identity. But, right now I dont see how hori plans to manage that even with a twist. Even if lets say the clone theory ends up true (which would be hilarious because I was JOKING when I came up with it), it still would feel like so much wasted potential. And the thing is, while it would make me happy if it turns out true I would still be mad about all the rest hori fucked up which would make it impossible for me to enjoy the dfo reveal. And as much as I love dfo, if it turns out the afo clone theory is true and hisashi is the real afo who gets a happy ending while tomura stays dead and doesnt get one after everything afo did to him and the rest of the lov stay miserable too, I will still give hori the middlefinger. The only way I would be able to enjoy it is if hisashi ends up as the afo clone who choose a different path then his original body. It would still make dfo canon just in a unexpected way and it could be interesting to see in hisashi that afo COULD have been happy if he had choose a similar way.

I dont know, maybe in the end there is really some kind of twist involved. Shonen jump still hasnt announced that mha will end in the next few chapters and normally they do that at least 5-10 chapters before the final chapter. Maybe we are just panicking over nothing and hori has everything planned out perfectly. Maybe there is more to come. We really cant say for sure. There are still some plots who need answers and I cant see how hori wants to conclude everything in just 2 more chapters. On the other side this final arc was horrible rushed, even more horrible written and all in all a big dissapointment and waste of a lot of peoples time.

Who knows maybe thats why there is a break next week. So hori can wait for the reactions of the readers and include whatever twist he may think could work.

Oh boy I'm about to ramble SO HARD

So first of all, her design

^well that's a solid design right there imo

Her shirt with the cute little changing icons before and her doggy ears and skirt and the little shiny bright Wizard of Oz Dorothy shoes.. her design is quite simple but it's great!

So that's it for the design now let's go on with the character per se

So! You know that she woke up on prospit when she was very young, right, so she was used to seeing the future in her dreams, and Dave and Rose were convinced that she was a seer or a witch of some sort, that she could see the future. Turns out she WAS a witch, but that's a different topic

But later, when her dream self died, she couldn't see the future in the clouds so she didn't know what she had to do to avoid a doomed timeline, so she just did whatever felt right, which was for example prototyping her dead dreamself with becsprite, which didn't turn out great at first but later gave her doggy ears and first guardian powers which if I recall correctly were important later!

Shes also SO COOL like, look at this and tell me she's not cool. I dare you

The thing she had to do to enter Sburb was also wild! They covered her eyes and gave her a piñata, so she made what was logical, which is hitting the piñata. But then it EXPLODED and threw her off the window, so she decided to shoot as a last resort. Luckily the bullet would've hit the piñata wherever she shot, because Bec was there to redirect it and she didn't get hurt because bec cushioned the fall by teleporting her to the bed iirc

It's also really sweet how there's isn't a single character who dislikes her

Like, John and Jade are brother and sister, but are also great friends. She didnt talk to rose much, which is a ROBBERY, but you can clearly see theyre good friends and care about each other so much augh <3 and then theres dave who I like to think is her moirail, like a childhood crush to moirail or something, thats how I see it at least.

Then for the trolls.. Aradia and she get along pretty well! To the point that Aradias most iconic line was kind of reused later by jade which is really cute :] there's also Nepeta, who said Jade was her favorite human, and Kanaya who helped Jade with the frog breeding! She didn't really talk to every single troll, no one did, but if she did I think she would get along with everyone, she's just so lovable <3

And this doesn't even START to cover all the good things she has! There nothing in her not to love <3

hoenstly i as a person just really struggle to engage with “angst for the sake of angst” style fan content for most things because it simply makes me more upset. not to say that it’s Bad TM i’m not pissing on the poor here i just personally absorb emotions from things im watching/reading like a sponge and if im unable to tie that whole thing off neatly with a conclusion i spend the rest of my day walking around feeling stuck halfway between real life and the story, emotionally speaking. it’s why i feel compelled to wait for a show to finish before i can start watching it and other such things. like if i started watching a show and the season ended on a really depressing note there’s a good chance that i would be so bummed out i wouldn’t want to wait until the next season starts to see what happens and i’d just give up there. or i just start coming up with my own ideas as to what i think could/should have happened and then i don’t want to actually watch the rest of it because im too attached to the version of events that exists solely in my head. does any of that make sense? whatever. anyway a big reason i quit RPing on my sideblogs (if anyone even remembers those) aside from not having any free time was that i jsut kept getting way too into character and making myself irrationally upset because while the story arcs we kept coming up with were SO tasty from a narrative standpoint they also were just exhausting for me to keep getting deep into the weeds of and i had to tap out . which is sucks because it was loads of fun . i don’t remember where i was originally going with this ill be honest

hmmm... well first of all, i would like to say i personally never was a fan of the whole "collectors are emotionless assholes by default but our colly is ⁂⁕special⁕⁂ so hes different" like THATS SO STUPID!!! AND DEFEATS SO MUCH OF THE PURPOSE OF IT BEING IMPACTFUL HE CHOSE BY HIMSELF TO BE GOOD! i think the collector/archivist species is likely very very complicated and has a very rich history and hierarchy we just will never know abt in canon bc 1. theyre not the focus here and 2. well it kind of. ended. so.

BUT WELL. RIGHT! COLLYS FATE! SO UHM.

well. i have good n i have bad feelings about it.

ill start with the bad: i do wish we had seen more of him in the future timeskip, and that he had gotten a more permanent residence. i thiiink the archives are still intact around the titan skull (dont quote me on it though id need to look again), so, no reason why my future idea couldnt be canon with him living there n repurposing them. i think theres definitely a better solution than just sending him away, he couldve still had his little corner to learn stuff, just closer to the ppl he loves n that DO love him back.

HOWEVER.

heres where the good starts: i think it was actually a good idea for him to not become a noceda or a clawthorne. first of all because there was not enough of a bond between himself n those families to want to adopt him, specially there was a lot of trauma involved that cant be erased with how much he wishes to be good for them now. they still clearly care about each other, but theyre not family, maybe theyll never be, n thats fine. theres also another reason, but going into it would require... me being pretty bold about something thats been nagging on my brain ever since the episode aired, and actually talking about that might devolve into a bigger post in and of itself. i MAY make that post in the future and lose my fear of talking about, but im being cautious for now. all im gonna say about it atm is that if they had made him a noceda or a clawthorne, making him kings sibling, it wouldve made things... very awkward. and bad. so.

i think theres also a pretty fatalistic pessimistic way the fandom seems to be viewing this end: its never stated colly went back to the archivists at all, just "the stars", and its not even immediately after the finale events neither is it permanent- he had to have stayed around at least long enough to make that new portal door, and he visits frequently if king mentioning him being around to do something for luzs bday is any indication (not to mention that book lilith was holding that seemed to be about titans and collectors - i think colly mustve helped with info for that right).

me and the archive house server have actually been discussing this quite a bit, and we have reached the conclusion that the best way to describe this was that they "pulled a snufkin". collector is a space vagabond that travels around once in a while and then eventually always comes back to tell of their spoils to the people he still cares about most. and while that may not be satisfying to people who wanted him to be lovingly adopted into a welcoming family, i think its a good enough fate considering he might not even want a family out of the clawthornes, but rather just to be close to king.

and im sure maybe in the future he might decide to settle again at the isles for a more permanent residence. the future is in OUR hands now! we decide what to do with these characters and their future lives, and ive got a LOT of ideas.

i would just like to SPECIFY and go into a bit of detail about what each thing actually means:

this may not seem so bad, but when i mean they will comment on anything, i mean anything. it doesnt have to be marauder-related. it doesn’t even need to be related to harry potter. i saw a tiktok on a gorilla eating a banana and someone deadass commented “thats cool and stan james potter 😝” and lord FORBID if you include anything with snape in it. want to make an edit of him? backlash. want to talk about how you like him because hes interestingly written? backlash. want to deconstruct his character due to how badly fanon twisted him and actually analyse him? “anyways stan james potter” may be the dominant response to that, just so you know.

“sirius would never say that about mary!” said the marauder fan, heartbroken. “canon sirius would hate himself in atyd!” i respond usually with “canon sirius is a white boy in the 70s, hes not the ‘slay feminist yass 😍’ king you think he is.” this elicits quite a plethora of negative reactions, and i understand why. misogyny is stinky, no one wants their favourite character to be acting like that. so this option doesn't mean "fans who like a characterisation of sirius black that isn't necessarily time period realistic," but rather "fans who deny canon evidence for a fanon conception and then hate on things that expand on the canon evidence provided to them." "they are wizards, which isn't realistic, but you choose the time period misogyny as a hill to die on?" the marauder fan replied to me (and im quite literally quoting on what a creator said to me, this isn't an exaggeration). meanwhile canon sirius black: *harrasses snape for dressing more femininely/more outside gender norms* yeah and you think that boy would be a feminist...

you may think to yourself: when did [insert ship] become a thing? why is this happening? who even is this person? most of the time, it's all in good fun, sometimes, however, ships are created that purely contradict the entire point of said character. snily was criticised for doing exactly this, and now look at where we are.

after reading these points, you may come to the conclusion: holy shit the problem is just marauders fans. in fact, you may take it one more and remember more shit that had occurred due to this sub fandom of the harry potter universe. ever been criticised for not characterising purely fanon (dorcas, marlene etc etc) characters properly? ever been attacked for calling out the hypocritical stanning of barty, evan, regulus and peter whilst piling all blame onto bellatrix or snape? yeah me too babes.

i know we've talked about tiktok a lot, but i raise one more thing: the inescapable hell that is dracotok. this usually consists of those young teenage girls thinking they are very hardcore for participating in death eater practices despite its mirroring of being violent oppressors on a discriminated group so they can impress none other than draco malfoy. this, or they're the badass 'girlboss' that can change him. completely and ironically misunderstanding the point of his character aside, every cringey POV/thirst trap you have EVER seen on tiktok is probably replicated and 10x worse on dracotok.

i swear i haven't heard the term "gryffindork" since 2016, but alas, there has been a comeback. i call hogwarts legacy fans 'baby' hp fans, because i seriously do believe that these people have not interacted with the fandom until now. that would be okay if they weren't regressing everyone to early 2000s discourse. are gryffindors not being invited to ravenclaw, hufflepuff and slytherin raves that deep? no. but those three houses wouldn't be having raves in the first place

we've all seen them, need i explain or go into detail? "b-but harry doesn't have any chemistry with ginny!!" so he does with DRACO of all people? this didn't get on my nerves until i suffered from years and years of randoms going into detail about why slytherin/hufflepuff was the best harry potter house and then getting genuine mad when idgaf. maybe you have experienced this tragedy too. there are grown people getting into genuine online beef with others because they made a joke about slytherin being evil or hufflepuff being useless. makes me think you are just evil and useless (just kidding, but please wake up and realise that slytherin & hufflepuff quite literally do not exist)

i sympathise for people who like snape, i do. i do not sympathise for those who attempt to justify or excuse his actions. this normally comes with a side dish of misogyny, because more often than not they will find a way to blame it on lily. other times, they will blame his trauma. i want to be clear: his trauma explains his actions, it doesn't excuse them. that is the whole point of him ruining his chances with lily (not even as a lover, but as a companion). you are doing your own injustice to his character by trying to make him innocent, please stop

it's understandable why the cursed child is so hated. it's meant to be seen, not read, in my opinion. there's a lot of things in it that i too wish didn't exist. but that doesn't make it "not canon" because it upsets you. and of ALL the things that these types of people would choose to complain about, these are the things they chose: albus potter's namesakes (we've been going on about this for years like can we stop now please), harry being a 'bad dad' (think about his own upbringing a tiny bit more and maybe your brain can make a little more sense of his actions), delphi being voldemort's child (probably the only thing that i agree with these people on), and albus' name again because they REALLY hate it (but then they will counter this by saying "james sirius" is a good name, when it's still mid asf). anyway, it doesn't matter how much you squeeze your eyes shut and writhe around about it, the cursed child is canon. soz lol

Hey! Im a recent anon and I wanted to react to what youve been discussing with the anon who agrees with you. Personally, Ive had phases about what I believe about Rhett and Link and the nature of their relationship. I have found the idea of these two attractive, weird, charismatic, creative men being into each other quite appealing, but I dont think Ive ever truly believed it without the help of fan speculation and overinterpretation of giffed moments. Especially after the reveal about their religious background… Without the fan content to feed the nice fantasy, I go back to the presented reality of their unique, brotherly friendship. You believe something that is extreme, even within a tumblr fandom that fixates on the idea of them as a couple. You do you, I dont even have to tell you that! What I find frustrating, just for me, is that I can’t easily refute your view. But I really do believe, without much doubt, that theres nothing between them, like they’ve repeatedly said, and, moreover, that theyre just not physically attracted to each other, despite the moments that may be interpreted as flirting (or… as mind-in-the-gutter banter, you know!). The one thing that I could concede is that, if there is any kind of sexual tension between them, it’s mostly subconscious or repressed, and they don’t want to explore that and only feel comfortable with their current, deep, but platonic friendship. I think that your interpretations, the ‘signs’ you notice in their videos, while beautifully packed with meaning, are not necessarily there. But once again, I can’t really prove it to you, and I find that frustrating. It’s about what feels like a plausible conclusion, an ‘inference to the best explanation’ as philosophers would say. My current opinion is a conventional one, but certainly not within the tumblr fandom, which is full of people that seem to at least believe that there’s something there even if not acted upon. I just think that their interactions could be what they say they are: two lifelong straight male friends connecting, having fun, learning about each other and the world, performing for an audience, often winding each other up, showing us their strange humor, their fascination with awkwardness and love of silly innuendos. And here we are, chronically misinterpreting it to maintain our delightful fantasy, a fantasy shared by many other fandoms built around two apparently straight men that have good chemistry, by the way. This is what I think is happening, and Im not going to judge, because as I said, the fantasy is really nice. As for the overarching themes and methaphors you have identified in their scripted content… I think alternative interpretations are definitely possible. The digging a hole video, for example, might be about collaborative endeavors in general, about the dramatic structure that is still exciting without normal dramatic content, about the joy of absurdist concepts and doing things just to do them, together… not the specific situation you imagined about them wanting to come out of the closet eventually, and navigating their relationship. I have to say, I was impressed and entertained by your interpretation of their puzzle video. I also think that there’s a lot of basic ‘if our characters did this somewhat suggestive or odd thing this would be funny’ reasons behind their scripted content… and not necessarily the cohesive story about viagra that you believe has happened to them. I think that sadly, they might be more boring or random than what you give them credit for, as far as cleverly hidden messages go. But yeah, I dont know how we could definitely know who’s right about this... If they never come out as you suspect they are planning to, if they stand by their no-homo claims, would you give up on your theory, or do you think there’s a chance that, in your worldview, they might never ‘fully come clean’, rendering both our theories basically impossible to prove or disprove? What do you expect from the TV show they’re going to release, for example (sorry if you already shared that before)?

Hello, thank you for analysing your different perspective in a polite way. I have been having a lot in my mind these days and I delayed answering. I was about to explain why I support some things regarding the videos and the puzzle video but somehow in this crazy world I didn’t answer before the brolinoscopy episode and I feel like R&L answered for me before me in this video!

After 9 years, Rhett brought up the reference by saying “you can even find missing puzzle pieces inside rectums”. It’s not even the first time they suddenly bring up the puzzle video after a silence nearly a decade long. Link as Sandy had a small puzzle tattoo in the Brown Diamond too. But today’s insinuation was so much more straightforward. As you understand, after this development, I am once more convinced I cannot find a more suitable explanation than the one I had in the puzzle post (the viagra thing might be a stretch or made up story by them but I stand by all the main and crucial points I made there). And that reference is generally nothing compared to all the things Rhett (also Link) said (supposedly I guess, but wild if true) incoherently in the brolinoscopy.

However, I do not intend to make an analysis here, neither do I plan to try to convince you, I am kinda over that in general and I don’t want to push something down the throats of people who find it unlikely or uncomfortable. I have figured out some people consider me extreme and… it doesn’t resonate well with me. If I am proven correct, will I have been extreme then all this time? Of course I will definitely keep doing my own thing in my original posts but I don’t want to try to change anyone’s mind anymore. Therefore I am curious - you said it is frustrating that you can’t refute me. Is this about me (I don’t think I matter, I am just an anonymous randomer blabbing potential nonsense) or is it about the possibility of Rhett and Link truly being more than friends? Or is it just because you are so convinced you are right that it would be frustrating to be proven wrong? I would understand that last sentiment (I am often the same way), less so if it’s a case of any of the former two scenarios though.

The only thing I want to stress again is that for me all my ships have started as an observation and then some became a pleasant fantasy. I have never liked a ship because I liked the idea of it first and then tried to force it into my reasoning and conclusions. It has always been the opposite with me - I see cues I consider very clearly there and then I decide whether I like that ship or not. Which is why I never liked fanon ships. Save for the Sherlock fiasco, I have a record of 100% canon ships and 0% fanon or slash. In fact, I almost have a personal aversion to them, idk why. As for Sherlock, the entire fanbase was essentially proven wrong and it wasn’t that we were all wrong but that apparently something happened and bombed this show and they wrapped up one season earlier than intended with enstranged actors . Still, many many fans were sure there was no case the show could end like it did and waited for another season. Not me. I realised the plot and show was bombed for good and I was done with it very quickly. I was proven right. I am saying all this only to explain that this “aw it’s a nice fantasy I am having so now I am misinterpreting gifs” is not representing me accurately. I was perfectly happy with Rhett and Link as platonic friends and I would be very happy with this image in my mind forever. I value deep friendship and, you know, being loyal to your spouse extremely. It’s just that it’s been quite a few years this is not the image I am getting from them at all. Of course I could be wrong but even if I am, it’s not because I try to make my fantasies reality out of nowhere.

I agree many people misinterpret gifs. There are gifs and gifs though. And some leave very little room for misinterpretation.

Regarding your question, I do doubt from time to time that they will get on with it. But then shit like today’s happens. There is always the chance that they will get scared for good before the end. But since November-December, I think something has shifted inside Rhett and he has made his decisions. But who knows. I definitely think there is a possibility they never come out, not even in the show they prepare, and keep hiding forever but I consider it a very very very small possibility. I could also eventually give up on my theory but for this to happen, there’s a shitload of undoing they would have to do first!

Cancel culture is unnecessarily didactic and entitled sometimes.

It's really weird how as an audience, people try to tell others that what they do is wrong, and that they should correct their actions. Because who the fuck has the rights to make the rules of what is wrong and right within society?

I think cancel culture is valid when it's consistent with laws - yk - getting people like child groomers called out and removed from platforms because that's plain fucking illegal. The law system is a great place to base your morals off of (from my limited knowledge of laws), but then again...

If a CC has committed a crime, is just removing their platform the best thing to do?

Sure, alerting their following a person is bad is a great place to start. Yk, reduce their following at their supporting because they're a straight WRONG'UN... but then what? We just let them live their normal ass lives after committing a crime? When the hell does police step in and sort it out?

Cancel culture is good at alerting the audience of a person's wrongdoings if illegal, but at that point, serious investigation and police intervention is probably also worth a shot.

But cancel culture is also really fucking harmful.

Obviously, rate of cancellation is very different online. Certain fandoms have different rates of cancellability, and boundaries with what CCs say. Need it in graphical form? Say less.

(No data backing this up, quite opinion and personal experience based so err... maybe take w a pinch of salt)

But there's places like AMP and Sidemen whereby they do A LOT of more morally gray things (objectify women, mild-casual homo and transphobia...)

And then there's placed like the MC fandom which need to take the fucking chill pill and slow it down. I mean, I remember this from my MCYT days:

"I get lesbians", said TommyInnit, "get" meaning understand (of course) - which didn't seem like a big deal to me. It empathised w women thinking men were a bit ew and unpreferable, and sure, it's a bit demeaning to men in a way whereby there's a bit "men < women" stereotype, but I don't think that's very harmful in an already patriarchal society.

but regardless, the fans were pretty fkn pissed because they interpreted what he said to mean that he... got with lesbians... And when someone explained to them that he meant "get" as in "understand" - you know, he's not a raging misogynist, self-proclaimed lesbian-undoing womanizer - did they back down and admit there was a misinterpretation within communication?

Nope!

Instead they tried to prove that he was still in the wrong because that was a poor word choice and he should've just said "understand" instead, if that's what he really meant.

They literally tried to 'cancel' him, for a lexical choice.

So in times like that, I remember that cancel culture isn't a wonderful thing - and the Charli D'amelio reference you give is just as valid tbh, anon.

Charli's cancellation + hate, I would love to talk about, but considering this is already a stupidly long n waffle-y post, I think I'll save it for next time.

Overall conclusions + take-aways: -Cancel culture is good at taking platforms away from genuinely bad ppl -But who are we to try and push our own morals onto a Content Creator? Ignorance is bad and should be corrected but often-times this didactic role which viewers take on is also just plain entitled -I think it's better to point out flaws and present them to the audience + CC to hear them out, rather than viciously aiming to remove a platform and enforce views onto others -Some places need a lot less cancel culture bc it's just not needed - some places need a lot more maturity to understand why what a CC does isn't morally great -Lots of generalised sweeping statements made here - feel free to argue them j don't come at my neck ab them

this shit with dream. honestly, i got a few thoughts about it. i’ve spent the last day or so reviewing the evidence and checking both sides. this might be a long post bear with me. also read the whole thing, or at least read my conclusion, before commenting.

-initial allegations:

i have decided to respect the alleged victim(s), and as dream’s only statement as of today, October 14, 2022 (MST 19:08), has been a whiney priv twitter thread, i’ve elected to place that dream has not made any real statements regarding the allegations. i will further explore his defense when he gets home and takes this seriously. i’m honestly disgusted by his initial response. if he makes no genuine response, i will assume he doesn’t take these matters seriously and that will be evidence enough for me to quit respecting him.

-faked or inefficient evidence:

i have seen plenty of evidence so far against the provided proof of the first victim, but at the same time i have seen other evidence in support or her proof. for example, her having the same story about this for two years. the bigger problem here is inefficient evidence. dream has not come out yet with any proof whether or not they did have communication. theres too little here for us to know definitively. the next part will continue.

-definition of grooming:

based on the released messages of the original poster, i see no real instances of grooming. i am seeing that he is being cringey with an overuse of heart eyed emojis. there is no coercion, no threats, and no power play going on in the provided proof. that being said, things like this can be one-sided and uncomfortable to experience. i would not define this as grooming, rather, a misreading of boundaries. this is still a problem, for a content creator and fan to have this misunderstanding, but it is not equivalent to grooming. historically, dream has had issues with understanding other people’s boundaries. the “16 is legal in the uk” joke thats going around is proof of that. thats an uncomfortable joke, and tommy obviously didnt like it, but its not solid proof of pedophilia. i’ve always believed, and will continue to believe, that he needs to work on this moving forward.

-racism, antiblackness, and antisemitism

with this being talked about, im seeing a lot of people talk about other things dream has done. i can only really speak on his comments about mexicans, but recognize that hes been in the wrong before by blocking people educating him on antiblackness, collaborating with notch, etc etc. personally i believe it is unfair for him and especially for the victims for this to be turned into a “look at All the shit hes done!” thing. the conversation should be focused on the stories of the victims right now. i encourage these callouts on him, especially with his lacking apologies, but now is not the time. i say this as a victim of sexual assault and grooming.

-“dream in these stories acts out of character”

you do not know him. parasocial relationships, although they are a joke now, are still serious as hell. i’ve watched dream since 2020 and i’ll admit, some of these things don’t add up to what we know about him. the biggest thing, being that he face revealed to this fan. that does not track with what we have seen about him. with that said, *we don’t know this guy*. the only people who will confirm if these actions are out of character are his friends, and that’s it. we cannot do that.

-conclusion

“believe victims always” and “believe victims first” are two different sayings, and neither should be the first thing to come to mind. always take things with a grain of salt. that being said, express empathy and RESPECT to the victims coming forward. to dream stans: do NOT jump to the conclusion now that dream is innocent, and do NOT say shitty things to or about the victims coming out. to antis: stop celebrating this shit. it’s disrespectful as fuck, strays the conversations, and makes it harder to find the evidence if its all buried under your shitty memes about it. i am choosing to not make any conclusions until it is confirmed OR denied by further evidence.

i have no problem unsubbing from dream if this is true— understand that i have basically abandoned his content out of boredom and literally not watched a single stream or video of his since like 2021 (aside from the face reveal). im by no means a dream stan. i watch and engage with dream smp content, and thats the extent to what i do concerning dream. i also don’t hate him. thats why i’m hoping this post is portrayed as neutral as possible.

considering what you have spoken about regarding selina do you also get frustrated with like…i cant quite explain it but sometimes especially in more recent years shes been posed or positioned like some sort of damsel that needs a big strong man to save her and like im not saying she should be portrayed with the “hollywood level feminism” for lack of a better term im just think about how old versions of selina would have hated that. like im just thinking of anytime in the reeves movie where bruce grabs her or forces her mouth shut or even when he didnt allow her to kill falcone and im just thinking she should claw the fuck out of him for that. i just miss a version of selina who wouldnt allow anyone to walk all over her personal autonomy like that

oh absolutely! in fact this is specifically why i can't stand loeb's take on her character lol (and as we both know that was a significant point of reference for the reeves film). it's really jarring to transition from her volume one and two canon to the long halloween / dark victory / when in rome. i think a lot of people tend to latch onto these books because tim sale's art is to die for and it's obv hard not to enjoy a good murder mystery. in that aspect they're still books i can enjoy in isolation. but i find it very difficult to enjoy them as a selina fan specifically because in every single one it's like she's looking for solace and security in a man and i'm not sure why. like what was so bad about her original backstory of having a deadbeat dad (whether you ascribe to the volume one or volume two version of him) and why did she need to go looking for her "real" father in carmine falcone. why did she need to seek out temporary boytoy relief in italy. why did she dream about being saved by bruce. none of it really has a reason other than to create a "lack" in her for the sake of it being there, because she'd never needed a man like that before in her post-crisis narrative. as you mentioned it was quite to the contrary and she was fiercely independent and protective of her own peace, esp from men. when she felt empty or without a connection or lifeline to someone real, it was mostly about people like maggie or holly or arizona. her people

what i think it ultimately comes down to are two things: the first thing is the diminishment of her post-crisis origins. after all, it's convenient to ignore how distrustful selina is of people, and of men with power at their leisure to abuse specifically, when her post-crisis origins are no longer relevant to her personal characterization. although selina's status as a sex worker is more prominent now, it was more or less completely swept under the rug for the bulk of volume two. loeb also refused to engage with it in any capacity. it only really resurfaced with the conclusion to volume two because it drew direct parallels to how we initially found her in volume one, and then brubaker expanded on it once again in his take on the character, which was notably juxtaposed against a pre-existing romance with bruce and brings me to the second thing. i've already waxed about this at length so this may very well be recap but i really don't think selina's lack of control over her personal autonomy can be divorced of the modern portrayal of the romance. when selina looking for security and understanding and comfort in bruce is what drives the romance forward there's not much room to maintain her original values and guarded demeanor, if not her outright defensiveness and hostility. a lot of people look at the extensive trauma selina has experienced and argue that she deserves to be in a relationship with someone who allows her to let those walls down. this isn't incorrect in theory. but it does repeatedly ignore who she is. it's kind of like the point i was making about bruce yesterday. exploring the inherently abusive nature of robin or of bruce's right to his children in light of that fact is interesting to do, but the actual execution has rarely managed to take into account who bruce actually is

for however nice it might be for selina to let her walls down romantically and look for solace in bruce—and i say this mostly for the sake of argument, personally i would argue against its necessity—it's realistically not something she's actually going to do. at least not as willfully as she's been portrayed to. realistically she's going to make it extremely hard, which if anything is precisely the appeal. i love it when selina gives bruce a hard time. i love that it's not supposed to be easy or maybe even a possibility for him to win her over bc there's so much about his own ideological stances that's flawed and in opposition to her own. she doesn't have to be any less unrelenting in her principles and worldview for that romance between them to be compelling bc at the end of the day the entire crux of it is that against all odds bruce cares. for however wrong he thinks she might be in a given moment or in her stance against the government, he knows who she is and how hard she's fought and what she's survived and it makes him sympathetic to her because she's real. she's a wonderful character through which to explore the logical limits of bruce's self-righteousness and categorization of crime, as well as a wonderful mirror to hold up to his face as he starts to ask himself whether what he's doing is really the only means of keeping the city safe. and the novelty of it all is that you don't have to sacrifice her character for any of that to be true. writers have simply deluded themselves into believing that they have to and that's why we are where we are today

#you're so real about the reeves movie btw i think she should have kicked him off of a building personally #outbox #also not something i mentioned above but i think a looooot of people cling to bronze age selina #because it was purportedly her first 'positive' portrayal. personally i would argue against that though #i think her golden age iteration was plenty 'positive' and there was an inherent understanding that although she loved supervillainy #she wasn't necessarily evil in a way comparable to other rogues. she always had an inclination towards mercy and bruce Noticed that #which is what made their relationship really interesting. bc she was committing crimes and in his head he was like #yeaaaah she's wrong. but she's also not hurting anyone per se. and she's so pretty. let me turn a blind eye it's fine #these were more generic ideas that newell subsequently rewrapped in new skin and then further developed along a political lens #but i think a lot of people comparatively prefer bronze age selina bc it fully embraced a romance in the most traditional sense #so at the end of the day a lot of the fan sentiment really comes down to preferring wish fulfillment over good storytelling. at least imo #bronze age selina to me is one of the most boring characters ever. and i also hate that she has to 'prove' she's no longer villainous to br #to bruce. and the fact that he suspects her. like since the 40s it's been word of law by the ogs that bruce Doesn't suspect her #he's the first person to not suspect her while everyone around him is judging him for it #i know writers and perspectives change etc etc but when that's what the original creators of both characters are telling you #i feel like it has to hold some weight #so yeah. bronze age might as well be the shit under my shoe it's so boring and bland and most of all ahistorical #bronze age batkat i mean
