people think i'm "rude" for being too blunt/too honest but if i took some kind of uncontrollable truth-telling serum i would be actually suicide-inducingly horrible to be around. i'm honest but trust that i take care to be much more polite, fair, and controlled at most times than I want to. you could not take 5 minutes of me blurting out everything that goes on in my brain in gruesome detail, especially pertaining to You specifically. kindness and courtesy are neither a weakness nor proof of some inherent purity. they are a bore of a chore. and while it is an incredibly irritating chore it is required in order to exist (less) hassled by society.
idk. it's truly annoying to spend much effort and energy on all of everything alone. and after accepting no help will come your way, no ackmowledgement or reward for your work comes either. and not only. instead comes punishment. punishment for the grave sin of not being good enough at pretending like i love small talk and not being good enough at kissing ass and not being good enough at neither keeping my head down and doing nothing nor making waves. not being good enough no matter which way you turn, what weight you pull, how much pain you opt to ignore in favour of pushing onward. there is no prize, no safe space, there is only the anger in the meaningless and base fight to survive. hatred, death, despair, the deep wells of agony. and within it all a part of you screams itself hoarse and then quiet to break the dam. at such high capacity, it doesnt matter of its toxic sludge or just water. "just water" kills everything in its path. tsunamis, typhoons, tropical storms, rainstorms, deadly hail... a little bit builds up and in the right place it can be cried out, or redirected, or simply evaporate in the warm, kind, invigorating rays of the sun. but what then if there is no place for that kind of thing. you are the river above a city and you grow and you grow and come the next storm you may just flatten it all to nothing with everyone inside. the dam allows no space to move or grow smaller. you grow so big you don't know if it's even a river anymore. what you are is some strange unnatural body with a riptide so intense it rivals the wildest ocean tides.
i remember the time i almost got swallowed by a storm riptide clearly. it took just a touch of the water and i am being pulled by a force stronger than anything i have felt before or again, something wild and so much bigger. a storm that no longer wants or has any purpose or even one clear cause... without reason, it doesn't *want* to destroy ships and tug people to their crushed deaths. no. it just-- will. it will do that. it has no will but it will kill you. it will destroy everything. what a beautiful terror. but why in me. tugging tugging tugging. sometimes i wish my weak little kid body got seized by the riptide and that i could not break free at all. that would be an epic death.
#rambles#someone promised me a visit to a rage room!!!! they must deliver!!!!!!#i must admit i do look down on the one that rages like a traumatized little bitch-- dog#at every little thing#the one who-- in the real world-- is too angry and stupid even to shut its mouth when it kills itself#here i am with all this anger you put inside me and its enough to genuinely want to wipe our planet dead#and here i am calmly listening to you air your pathetic grievances while i think of smashing your skull in with this hammer#and you. you... like a little baby given power.#and here i fucking am taking it and trying so hard to maintain. as if it wouldnt be such a relief to just let go#as if i havent envied you for your senseless retarded pursuit of being so unapologetically terrible to people#as if i wouldnt do anything to trade our minds and places and be the stupid eternal toddler#people think the things i occasionally say or do are anger. it is not#how many switches will you flip and buttons will you push until you choose the wrongest one yet#how much longer must i withstand this pressure with my hands under me and my teeth pressed firmly together#how many more times do i have to stop in the middle of acting on instinct. instinct to survive and fight#instinct that will destroy indiscriminately.#if its like this for long enough... do you think water can become fire? youve heard of hell freezing over but have you heard of earth#becoming hell?#again i cant sleep. the energy is suffocating. i need to be held tightly and to tussle till my body gives out#no i need to feel bones crack under me.

TG: yo tav.
TG: you there?
TG: you heard from vrissy yet?
TG: she hasn't answered me in a while.
-- thespiansGlamor [TG] is now an idle chum! --
TG: helloooo.
TG: cool!
TG: i'm being snubbed by you too.
TG: i mean you should probably try to message her, she left without telling me where she was going yesterday.
TG: and i don't know if she's up to some kind of trouble or not?
TG: i mean, i'm not gonna make a stink about her going off on her own, she can handle herself.
TG: but she went with vriska?
TG: so thats pretty fucking suspect on its own.
TG: vriska is like this entirely different animal, it's not gonna be your typical charming vrissy shenanigans.
-- thespiansGlamor [TG] is now an idle chum! --
TG: tavvy?
TG: stop leaving me on read, dude. i know you're reading these.
GG: Oh,,, um,, i havent heard from her,,,
TG: then can you try to ping her?
GG: I will message her soon,,, its just that currently i am in a bit of a pickle,,,,,,,,,,,, something rather emotionally fraught,,,,,, and serious,
GG: I could give it a go,,, in a little bit,,,,
TG: god dude, no wonder she can't rely on you for shit.
TG: it's like pulling teeth to get you to do anything.
TG: ...
TG: hello??? are you still there?
GG: Well,,,
GG: Unfortunately,,, its showing that shes offline,
GG: So it follows that even if i did ping her,,, i would see the same amount of responses that you are seeing,,,
GG: Which is to say,,, none,
GG: Unless she is pretending to be offline,,, on account of you texting her way too much,,, again,,,,,
TG: are you fucking serious??
GG: I didnt mean to come across as brash,,, there are just more troubling things for me to attend to,,,
TG: i get that, whatever.
TG: i still don't feel good about this.
TG: don't you wanna know where our girlfriend is???
GG: I do but,,,,
GG: I am sort of occupied with the aforementioned pickle,,, with her mothers and Aunt Jade,,,
TG: oh.
TG: then can you ask them? like the few obvious things you can do here?
GG: Id,,,, rather not,,, miss Maryam seems a bit,,, hot under the collar,,,
TG: yikes.
TG: alright, i get it.
TG: would not wanna be in that room either lmao.
TG: i've seen her tear into vrissy after one of her sneak outs.
TG: shit's straight up terrifying. i don't blame you.
GG: ,,,Seeing as i am actively in the radius of her discomposure right now,,, i wouldnt mind trading places,
TG: hopefully you make it out alive.
TG: try not to get sawed in half, or whatever the legends say.
TG: sooo how bout that message, can you try to reach vrissy?
GG: ,,, Sorry,
GG: ,,, Things are getting a bit,,, fussy,,,
GG: I cant respond adequately,,,
TG: come on tav, really?
GG: ,,, I have to go,
TG: god dammit.
TG: ok!!!! fine.
TG: i'll just do it myself.

Hopeless Romantics
HiHo friends! I mostly wrote this piece for @iaminlovetomhollandmarvel because she's like my one consistent reader. Once again, I'm still fairly new to writing so please be kind, and send in requests for any characters and actors/actresses you want and I'll write for you! I also used writing prompt 707 from @creativepromptsforwriting and its highlighted in bold, there is also a Sylvia Plath poem in here!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey Y/N, what're ya doin?" Arvin asked as he walked up to you as you sat reading on the steps outside of the school.
"Not much, just sittin' here enjoyin the warm weather. What are you doin' Arvin?"
"Well you looked pretty lonely over here, so I was thinkin I could keep you company but I can go if you want."
"I don't mind, come sit down I promise I won't bite."
As he sat down next to you he linked his arm with yours to see how you'd react. When you didn't pull away he scooted closer to you, to the point of being able to see over your shoulder.
"Y/N L/N what on Gods green Earth are you reading?" he laughed at the content you were consuming.
"If you must know, nosey josey its a romance book," your cheeks started turning red with embarrassment as he laughed.
"I don't know much but I do know one thing; people do not talk like that on dates."
"I wouldn't know, I've never been out on a date before," you turned your head away feeling shame. 17 years old, and never been out on a date while some girls in your class were out here getting married.
Arvin felt bad, he did know that you didn't go out much but he figured that the most beautiful girl he's ever seen would've been asked out at some point.
"Thats about to change. C'mon Y/N get up, I'm taking you out on a proper date," he offered his hand to help pull you to your feet.
"Arvin are you insane, what would even do?"
"Anything you want. We could go to dinner, a movie, we could go to the library, I could get a picnic together really fast and go to the lake, we can go skinny dipping," he winked at you.
"Skinny dipping is a third date activity young man, I think you know this," you shot back at him matching his cheeky smile, "I wouldn't mind a picnic by the lake, I just need to stop by my house and tell my momma where I'm goin."
"Your carriage awaits m'lady," he help open the car door for you and helped you in.
"Before we do this I need to know, why are you doing this Arvin?" you asked him, very worried about getting hurt.
"Cause its Friday night and I'd rather spend it with the prettiest girl in school than at Church with Lenora."
An hour later after you dropped your stuff off at home and got a picnic and blanket you and Arvin were sitting by the lake looking out over the water.
"Y/N will you please read your book to me? 'ts just I've heard you read in English and I really like your voice. Please?" he was so kind and quiet that there was no way you could deny him of this.
"I won't read you my book but I'll read you a poem, how's that?" he nodded happy with the trade off. As you pulled your poem book out of the small bag you packed, he laid down in your lap looking up at the sky.
"This one is called Mad Girl's Love Song by Sylvia Plath.
"I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead; I lift my lids and all is born again. (I think I made you up inside my head)
The stars go waltzing out in blue and red, And arbitrary blackness gallops in: I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane. (I think I made you up inside my head.)
God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade: Exit seraphim and Satan's men: I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I fancied you'd return the way you said, But I grow old and I forget your name. (I think I made you up inside my head.)
I should have loved a thunderbird instead; At least when spring comes they roar back again. I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead. (I think I made you up inside my head.)"
Arvin stared at you in awe. He had never felt feelings like this before. In the moments that you were reading to him everything felt right, as if you wrote the poem for him.
"Y/N that was absolutely beautiful," he gushed to you.
"Aww you don't mean that, now c'mon enough with all this gushy stuff. Its hot and i want to cool down with a swim."
"But we dont have our swimsuits and I thought skinny dippin was a third date activity miss," he was getting real cheeky now.
"Thats very true, but I wear undergarments, and those cover the same amount skin that a swimming suit do. Arvin, do you wear undergarments?" you asked as you started to unzip your skirt.
"You sure about this?" he wanted to go swimming with you more than anything but he didn't want you to feel uncomfortable.
"I've never been more sure about anything in my life Arvin." you were completely undressed, except the matching bra and panty set you were wearing. Arvin was awestricken with you. "Hurry up, I want to swim and your taking forever."
In record speed he took off his jeans and shirt, grabbing your hand and running into the water with you. You guys splashed in the water for a long time, well into the night. At some point you guys just floated, side by side holding hands. No one had ever made you feel the way Arvin did, like you mattered.
"Y/N your shivering, let get you dried off," he helped you onto the shore and wrapped a towel around and rubbed your shouders. "Heres the keys to the truck, you can changed in there. 'm gonna go into the woods to give you some privacy." he truly was the sweetest boy.
Once you both got changed and were sitting in the car, he asked you something you never thought he'd ask. "Will you dance with me? I can turn up the radio and we can dance outside." you nodded your head and lept out.
He took your right hand, in his left and wrapped your left arm around his waist. He placed his right hand low on your back yet high enough to still be respectful.
"Arvin, real talk and I want a real answer from you this time. Why did you ask me out tonight?"
"I asked you out because I've been infatuated with you, but i was never sure to liked me back so I started to flirt with you."
"What? We barely even spoke before today, how did you flirt with me?"
"I mean, I looked at you... sometimes you looked back."
"Arvin I don't know what to say, you could've talked to me."
"I wanted to, so badly Y/N its just that... I didn't want people to get the wrong idea about you because you deserve the whole world and I cant give it to you and people say I'm dangerous and I swear I'm not I just don't wan-"
you cut him off with a kiss. An earth shattering, mind blowing kiss. his lips were so soft and molded perfectly to yours, and he could taste the cherry chapstick you always wore. It lasted forever it felt like. When you both eventually pulled apart he rested his head against yours. "Woman if you keep doing that you're gonna kill me."
"I hate to ruin this absolutely perfect first date but, its past my curfew and I have to be home," disappointment clear in your voice. "All good things must come to an end eventually I suppose."
The whole way home, you didn't leave his side. He even walked you to your door and kissed you goodnight. "Can we go out again tomorrow, ya think?" he asked so hopeful you'd say yes.
"I would absolutely love to Mr. Russell but I don't know if my mom will let me after gettin in so late after I was supposed to be home. Give me your number and Ill call you tomorrow if I can."
He gave you his number and you two parted ways. He sat by the phone all weekend waiting for you to call, disappointment shattering his heart when you didn't. He found you by your locker first thing Monday morning at school.
"Hey, I figured that Id come say hi to you. Ya know, just make sure everythings still good between us?" He had never been this nervous in all his life.
"Yes of course everythings good between us why wouldnt it be?"
"Well you never called, and I got really worried. Why didnt you call?"
"My mom said I wasnt allowed to use the phone because I broke curfew. I promise you I would've called Arvin, I had the best time of my life on Friday. I would do it again in a heartbeat."
"Really, you want to go out with me again?"
"Well, yeah. Of course I do. There's still a second date we have to go on, before we get to the third." you winked at him as you shut your locker and turned around and walking in the opposite direction. Leaving him there, wondering what on Earth he just got himself into.

Gone
Barbara stared at the test in her hands ”Crap” she mumbled to herself, she bit her lip. The past couple days she’d been feeling uneasy and then counted up her days and realized she was late. So while her husband was at work she decided to take a test without him knowing.
He always wanted 3 kids
She was comfortable with one.
So they settled on a median of 2, which she was thankful for because she wouldnt trade their daughter for anything.
“Looks like you got your way Boy Wonder.” She sighed leaning back against the bathtub from where she sat on the master bathroom floor.
There was a tiny knock at the door “Mama?” Came the voice of her first born
“I’ll be out in a second sweetie, is your sister awake?” She questioned through the door
He replied a second later “No, she’s sleeping. Mama are you okay?”
Barbara smiled. He was so kind, she couldn’t ask for a sweeter little boy. Next week he would be 3.
Her eyes widened as realization dawned on her.
She had a 3 year old and a 4 month old.
She was pregnant again, how far along she didn’t yet know but she couldn’t imagine she was too far along
How would she ever be Batgirl again? She’d just gotten back into the rhythm of the business after their daughter
Taking a deep breath she stood and hid the test before stepping out
“Mommy!” Her son smiled, his bright blue eyes gleaming up at her
Barbara grinned and scooped up the young boy “Hello sweetness” she kissed his cheek “Wanna go make lunch before the baby wakes up?”
Nathan nodded “Yes mommy” he hugged her neck “I love you mommy.”
Barbara smiled as she carried him to the kitchen. Perhaps having a third Grayson baby wasn’t so bad. After all they did make really cute kids.
A few days later Barbara was prepared to tell Dick the news
That was until Joker took over the city, using mind control turning thousands of people into mind controlled goons.
It was bad. They weren’t just in Gotham. They were in Star City, Central City and now Bludhaven.
A phone call came from Dick- who was currently working as Nightwing.
He called her on her personal phone. Something never done before “Babs, We need you. The goons are everywhere, the family is all out fighting.” She heard a grunt her heart skipping a beat till his voice returned several seconds later “Hide the kids, you’ll never make it to the Manor in time to drop them off with Alfred. They could use your help in Central City”
Barbara bit her lip “But Dick-“
“Babs, I’m in Bludhaven I promise I won’t let them get to our babies. Okay?” He pleaded
She couldn’t tell him now, besides, she’d patrolled with Nathan the first 10 weeks of her pregnancy. Due to not knowing she was pregnant.
One night wouldn’t hurt right?
She could hear sirens in the distance. They lived in a well secured gated community but was it anything against jokers goons?
She looked over at her son, lounging on the couch innocently watching a cartoon. Her daughter in the bouncer kicking her legs. Happy because she had just been fed and her little stomach was full.
She walked into the living room and picked up the bouncer with her daughter still in it, “Nay Nay, follow mommy please.” She instructed, turning off the television set.
Nathan tilted his head but followed her anyways
She lead him into her and Dick’s bedroom. She pulled things out of her large closet “Mommy has to go somewhere.” She informed Setting the bouncer down in the back of the closet. Little Leah smiled up at her. Barbara bent down and smoothed her fuzzy red hair with her fingers
Nathan stepped into the closet “Where you goin?” The almost 3 year old asked
“Mommy has to help daddy and Grampie with something. But I don’t have time to take you to grandfather .” She said running a hand along her sons cheek “You get to stay here with your baby sister. Listen to me.” She held his face to ensure she had his full attention “You and Leah are staying in here. Mommy is going to lock the door. Whatever you hear don’t leave and try not to make any noise. Okay?”
Nathan nodded “I be bwave mama” he whispered
She smiled and kissed his forehead. She picked him up, setting him down againest the back wall and moved the baby bouncer beside him. Barbara leaned down kissing her daughters cheek. Looking her over taking in every inch of her tiny 4 month body. The little fuzzy blush pink sleeper she’d just dressed her in. Her blue eyes that she was sure were beginning to turned green. Dick’s nose and ears. Her red hair and lips.
Then she moved onto her son. Dressed in his Green Arrow pajama’s. His favorite super hero. Little did the boy know in less then 15 minutes his mom would be fighting along side him.
His long raven hair, bright blue eyes. Her nose and ears along with a splash of freckles along his cheekbones . Dick’s lips.
She leaned forward and kissed his cheek. “I love you both so much .” She told him before standing and backing out.
Barbara pushed a wardrobe up against the closet door, barricading the two kids inside while also hiding the door from view . The house had a central sprinkler system so a fire was the least of her worries.
She suited up and then went out. Praying everything would turn out fine
Six hours later Dick rushed into the clinic “Where is she.” He demanded
Leslie and Dinah both ran along side him “She’s lost a lot of blood.” Dinah said
Leslie nodded “She is very weak and drowsy”
He stopped and turned toward the two women “Take me to my wife now.”
The both gulped...Dick had actually admitted a small bit of fear in the two women something hard to do.
Dinah nodded “Come.” She waved
Dick entered the room and swallowed upon seeing the love his life looking so helpless lied up in the hospital bed. She’d been stabbed in her arm and almost bled out. Had it not been for Ollie’s basic medical training that saved her
“Her arm will be fine. It’ll make a full recovery. But...” she paused “The other bleeding ontop of the arm is what added to the substantial blood loss.”
He paused “What other blood loss?”
Dinah then realized he didn’t know “Barbara was pregnant. Not very far along 6 weeks at most....she lost the baby.-we haven’t told her yet.”
Dick’s heart sank. They’d made another baby. Another product of their love. And now just like that it was gone?
“Can we be alone?” He asked looking at his sleeping wife
Dinah nodded and exited the room
Dick approached the bed, sitting in a nearby chair. He was sore and probably had a few injuries he should be getting checked out himself but they could wait
He grabbed her hand in both of his. Bringing it to his lips he placed a soft kiss to the top of her hand.
Slowly Barbara stirred awake
“Hey beautiful.” He whispered
Her eyes were only had open “Dick, you’re okay.” A smile played on her lips. Which were now a pale pink
He nodded
“Kids?” She said, her voice a sleepy rasp
“As soon as we got the mind control turned off I ran to the house. They’re fine. Nate had Leah in his lap and she was sleeping. He told me he was protecting her” Dick grinned down at his childhood best friend as he softly brushed away the hair in her face.
He watched as her left hand slowly inched toward her belly “I’m so sorry Dick.”
Dick furrowed his eyebrows “For what Love?”
She closed her eyes “The baby, it’s gone.”
She knew, of course she knew it was Barbara. Tears were welling her eyes. As much as she didn’t plan for another child the idea of having a third baby with Dick was starting to excite her.
He leaned forward and hugged her to his chest “Barbara it’s okay.” He turned his head and kissed her temple “You did nothing wrong. “
She shook her head in his shoulder “They were beating my abdomen after stabbing my shoulder. Green Arrow came over and stopped them but it was too late. I knew the baby was gone”
He nodded “Its alright Babs. We have two beautiful children at home. They are safe because of your quick thinking.” He kissed her cheek and pulled back to look at her “You’re okay I’m okay. Yes we lost the baby. Yes I’m heartbroken as I know you are but we have each other.”
She smiled “I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have you”
He nodded “Neither do I.

Jon Snow x reader
Pairing: Jon Snow x young reader (platonic)
Summary: reader is a captured wilding and is forced to be Jon's steward. Shes tough and stubborn but one day something happens and her feelings for the crow begin to change.
Warnings: Swearing, violence, attempted assault, mentions of rape. Mentions of blood.
***************************************************
A/n Hello my loves! Just a quick note about this story. Reader is a young teenager, also her relationship with Jon is non romantic. Hes protective of her like a brother. I hope you like it!
***************************************************
"Whats your name girl?" you wanted to roll your eyes but refrained as the new commander of the nights watch, barely a man in your opinion tried to be intimidating in a room full of equally unintimatading men.
As dumb as they looked they still outnumbered you like 100 to 1. So you begrudgingly decided to answer.
"Y/n"
The lord commander, or more commonly known as Jon snow the bastard of winterfell, nodded once, satisfied that he finally gotten a word out of you.
"Well y/n, seeing as your people are gone-"
"Dead you mean" you couldn't help but bite out. "You crows saw to that"
Those damn crows had raided your village and slaughtered everyone save yourself.
"You're lucky we didn't gut you along with the rest of those filthy wildlings" one man spat out stepping forward but was halted by the commander, "Enough!"
"We had no choice, they trespassed and started to cause trouble-"
"Trespassed?! That land has been ours for generations, and just because some rich folk came and decided to put up a wall and cast us out, we're the criminals?!" You felt your anger rise again. "We didnt do anything wrong! We were just trying to survive like everyone else in this stupid godsforsaken world!"
The lord commander sighed with fustration, he tried to have patience, after all she was more or less a child. Well a child with the mouth of a 40 year old sailor.
"I'm sorry y/n, but there are rules, and they broke those rules"
"Rules?" You scoffed, "And who decided on those rules hmm? Certainly not the people who lived here, so tell me Snow, why the hell should any of us listen to rules that were forced on us?! In our eyes you are the enemy. We were just people, trying to not starve and freeze to fucking death and you slaughter us like animals!" You felt the burn behind your eyes as you remembered the screams and smell of blood. But you would die before you cried in front of these heartless butchers.
"I'm sorry that you had to witness it, but you have a choice to make now" he looked into your eyes with seriousness. "You can either be sent back beyond the wall or..." he paused hesitantly, "you can serve as a steward here"
You almost laughed, "Are you drunk Snow?!? Or do you actually think those are fair options?"
"Considering I'm already bending the rules by letting you live, yes I do" he said firmly.
You let out a humorless laugh, "So you think throwing me into the wilderness alone is fair? Or I suppose making me a slave to the nights watch is somehow better?" You glared at the men around you. Half of them fithly pigs who would no doubt use you whenever they got the chance.
"No harm would come to you if you stayed, of this you have my word. And you wouldn't be a slave. You'd be my steward."
But I wouldnt be allowed to leave, so a slave... but it's either that or what's beyond the wall.. I wouldn't last a day alone... after a while of silently debating I looked up into the killer's eyes, and sealed my fate with a nod.
************************************
The first week was hell. All you wanted to do was murder every crow you saw.
If you had poison you would've wasted no time spilling it in the stew you had to carry to commander stupids room every evening.
He acted like he cared, asked about if you had enough to eat and if anyone had been bothering you. But you ignored him. He was just trying to get you to trust him, and then he would turn on you. It was all a sick game, you were sure of it.
Another few weeks passed in a similar manner, he gave up on trying to make conversation which you were ever thankful for.
Not having anyone to talk to was the worst part. Your days were horribly dull. You cleaned, did laundry, prepped meals and repeat. Other than glares no one had messed with you which you were kinda disappointed in to be honest. You would take any excuse to blacken and bruise those ugly mugs of theirs...
Apparently the gods had a sense of humor because the next day you found yourself cornered by two of them.
"You should be on your knees thanking us girl" one of them sneered.
"We coulda left you for dead with those other savages but we didnt. And all you've been is given attitude."
"It ain't right"
"No it ain't" they agreed.
While they yapped you were mentally figuring out how you were gonna fight your way out of this one. Three against one wasnt exactly fair, and it's not like snow let you carry around your weapons. And the fact that you were far away, gathering firewood when they cornered you wasn't ideal.
Ugly man number one tsked when he saw your wandering eyes, "no use screamin girl, no ones gonna hear you"
"What the fuck do you want, the sooner you tell me, the sooner I dont have to look at your ugly faces" you couldn't help but want to anger them.
The bald one shoved your shoulder against the wall, on instinct you swooped your arm over his and brought it down, severing the hold and then you kneed him in the groin...hard.
"You bitch!" He faltered and you took that opportunity to try and get away. Ugly number 2 grabbed the cloth of your shirt and pulled back but you quickly shoved an elbow hard into his face.
While you were distracted, the third man, let's call him horse face, pulled your hair harshly until you were tumbling to the ground with a grunt.
It didnt take long for the other 2 to recover and help horse face pin you down. P
A deep rooted panic spread across your body. "Get the fuck off me!" You tried to hide the fear in your voice as you thrashed.
"Shut up wilding whore!" You heard the sharp smack before you felt the pain blossom against your cheek.
"You got the mouth of a slut, now let's see if you've got the body of one" your eyes widened and you felt a rough hand slide under your tunic.
"S-stop it! I swear I'll kill-" he shut you up with another sharp slap. You could now taste copper in your mouth.
"I swear to God if you say one more word I'll cut out that sharp tongue of yours" he pulled his knife out of its sheath and pressed the cold metal against your cheek. You winced as he pressed in and you knew he had broken skin.
You tried to be strong but you were terrified. These men were going to rape you and you didnt have the strength like you thought you did to stop them.
You closed your eyes praying to whatever gods were out there that this would not happen. But the gods were cruel. They had allowed the crows to wipe out the only people you had to call family. No they weren't yours by blood, but they had taken you in and cared for you. Taught you how to hunt, how to fight, and now this is how your life was going to end.
"That's a good girl" he took your silence as compliance and started to kiss down your neck.
You shivered in disgust and fear, one hand placed firmly on your neck keeping you in place and the other was exploring beneath your shirt.
You didnt want to give up, you wanted to fight. You didnt want to be raped and killed. How would you ever face your family in the after life if you didnt put up a decent fight. Taking a deep breathe , with the risk of losing your tongue looming in your mind, you clenched your fists and let out your last shred of hope,
"GHOOOOOST" you hoped the wolf you had come to befriend could hear through the walls.
"WHAT DID I FUCKING TELL YOU" he clamped a crushing hand over your mouth.
"W-we should g-go, what if that mutt heard?" Horse face looked around nervously.
"Shut up Pud, no way that he can hear all the way in here"
"But-"
"Oh for god sakes, hold her down and be quiet!" He motioned for horse face to clamp my mouth shut instead whilst he began unbuckling his trousers.
"Before I cut that pretty tongue of yours, I'm gonna see how it feels around my c-AHH FUCK" a giant streak of white crossed your vision.
"HELP YOU IDIOTS, DONT JUST STAND THERE, FUCK!" You heard growling and tearing sounds.
The mens hold on you immediately loosened and you took that chance to sit up and see what the hell was going on. And when you saw the familiar white fur and black eyes you almost cried in relief.
Ghost had launched himself at your assailant and was currently biting away at his arm. The other two turned tail quick and made for the door, thinking they could escape, but what they did not expect was a very angry lord commander blocking their way.
"Ghost" he called back his wolf who growled at the men before walking back and standing beside his master.
You couldn't tell whose eyes were more threatening, the wolf, or the bastard wolf..
Before you knew what was happening several crows flooded the room and arrested the bleeding man and his friends.
The commanders attention was now on you. You rolled onto you knees and tried to stand up but found that someone had traded your legs for jelly cakes.
"Y/n" you immediately looked down, not wanting him to see how afraid you were.
You were surprised at how soft the commanders voice was now compared to two seconds ago when he ordered they be taken to the prisons. "Are you alright?" He knelt down in front of you and reached a hand out to your face.
You flinched and he hesitantly pulled back, "Its alright now, your safe, please... let me help you" he said almost pleading.
You don't know what came over you but something was telling you that it was ok to trust him so you nodded.
This time when he reached a hand to lift your face up you didnt pull away.
You met his eyes and found anger and regret in them, "I'm sorry"
You were instantly confused, "For what?" You questioned as he continued to inspect your injuries.
"I said that no harm would come to you, I shouldve kept a closer eye on you" he apologized with a look of deep regret.
You didnt know what to say. Why was he being so nice to you?! It didnt make any sense, weren't the crows supposed to be the bad ones? But he saved you...well ghost did lead them to you so you really should be thanking him but...
You didnt really know how to respond so you just stayed quiet. He moved to help you up, gentle hands supporting you. When it was clear you couldn't stand on your own he asked if you would let him help you to maester aemon.
Reluctantly you nodded and was surprised when he swooped down and gently lifted you up like those dumb princesses you heard about in fairy tales.
You thought he was just gonna help you walk with a slung over arm or something.... if you weren't so exausted you probably would've been way more embarrassed.
Wordlessly he carried you through the halls and into Maester Aemons infirmary. He set you down on the bed with care and said he would be back to check on you later. The maester was already by your side examining your injuries.
You dont know what came over you, but before you knew what was happening your mouth opened and halted the lord commander through the door.
"Thank you snow..." you were glad he was facing the door, you were sure your face was bright red.
But if he had been facing you, you would've seen his smile.
Maybe not all the crows were so bad after all...
********
Ok soo it was kind of short I know, but my idea was for this to be a sort of prologue to a mini series of Jon and the reader. Please let me know if that's something you guys would want! Thanks for reading🥰

Take My Hand (Take My Whole Life Too)-8
Pt 1, Pt 2, Pt 3, Pt 4, Pt 5, Pt 6, Pt 7
Warnings for sexual content, male pregnancy, non-hockey Sid. Sid and Taylor’s ages have been altered to fit the story.
Perpetual credit to my betas, @queen-alia and @icosahedonist as well as the GC and @ljummen.
They meet at a quiet pizza place at Sid’s suggestion.
As soon as Sid sees Geno on the sidewalk he realizes it was a mistake. He already has people stopping him and Sid can see the stress lines around his eyes as he glances up and back to the people around him.
Sid has no idea what the protocol is but he suspects it’s better if he stays out of all of that so he tips his head toward the door of the restaurant and ducks in, grabbing them a table in the corner of the dark, quiet dining room.
It takes another ten minutes before Geno finally ducks into the restaurant looking very harried but at least he’s alone. He immediately spots and heads for Sid, carefully avoiding eye contact with the handful of other patrons. He gets stopped anyhow and politely signs autographs and poses for pictures with a family of four before he finally makes it to the table looking more than a little stressed.
“Sorry, Sid. I was hoping since it Tuesday afternoon would maybe not be such a big problem.”
“No, I’m sorry. I should have known. Next time we’ll figure something else out, okay?”
Geno nods, looking very grateful.
“So…” they both start after an awkward moment and it breaks the tension. Sid gives a quiet laugh and Geno’s face softens.
Sid thinks maybe, finally, they can relax.
Of course that’s when a waiter arrives at their table and starts his welcome spiel before stopping completely and exclaiming, “Whoa! Geno! Hey man!”
“Hello,” Geno says cordially, but Sid can see the lines forming around his eyes again.
The waiter, “Braden,” he informs them as he shakes Geno’s hand and ignores Sid completely, is grinning ear to ear and turns long enough to call in the general direction of the kitchens. “Yo, Frank! You gotta get out here! We got Geno Malkin in the house!”
Sid sees Geno slump in defeat and sits quietly as he politely signs autographs and poses for pictures with what must be every staff member there… and a couple of construction workers who hadn’t bugged him when he came in. As far as get-togethers go, this is a disaster.
Geno finally asks Braden to please give them a minute with the menu and turns to Sid with a pinched expression, talking low and fast. “Sid, okay if we get food to go? I take us somewhere private to eat and talk. Don’t think this going to work.” He says it like he’s asking permission and Sid feels terrible.
“Yeah, of course.”
That’s all it takes for Geno to motion Braden back over.
It takes another twenty five minutes before they’re actually leaving the restaurant with bags of food and a pizza, Geno having left a generous tip.
He pulls his hat down over his eyes and seems to be trying to hunch in on himself even though there was no way someone that big is going to be able to hide. Sid follows quietly and they make it to Geno’s car with only a couple of people stopping him. As soon as Geno slides into the driver’s seat, he drops his head back and lets out a deep breath.
“Really sorry, Sid.”
“It’s not your fault. I’m sorry for suggesting this place.”
“Not be sorry. Let’s just go eat. Hungry.”
“Yeah, me too.”
Geno turns to him with furrowed brows. “You ok? Need to eat and drink now?”
“No, I can wait. I feel okay.”
Geno’s face relaxes a little then and he nods. “Okay.”
He takes them to the arena. It’s the last place Sid expected to find himself but it makes sense. When they go in, no one does anything more than give him a wave. Certainly no one seems concerned that he’s toting a bunch of takeout bags and has a stranger trailing along beside him.
And that’s how Sid finds himself eating pasta and pizza in the Penguins’ team kitchen.
It’s Sid’s turn to be jumpy, glancing nervously at the door every few seconds until Geno explains, “No practice here today. Not expect anyone around or I take us to private conference room.”
Sid breathes out in relief. “Okay.”
“So—” they both start again and Geno laughs.
Maybe this won’t be as bad as Sid feared.
Geno is enthusiastic about any mention of the baby and wants to know all about Sid’s appointments with the ‘baby doctor.’  He listens to every tiny detail—from the baby’s heart rate to Sid’s blood pressure—with rapt attention and asks what seems like a hundred questions.
Sid doesn’t mind. It’s nice to have a conversation about the pregnancy that isn’t revolving around what a crisis it is.
He likes how easy it is to talk once they’re relaxed, that Geno actually takes interest in his life. He isn’t just asking questions to have something to talk about—he genuinely listens to Sid’s answers and asks more questions, seeming to want to know everything he can.
He asks about Sid’s studies at the university and Sid spends several minutes talking about the courses he plans to take and his plan to teach someday. In turn, Sid asks him about hockey and they spend a good half an hour talking about the upcoming season. Geno seems pleasantly surprised at Sid’s interest and knowledge.
From there the conversation turns back to the pregnancy and Geno asks if Sid has talked to his family in the last couple of days. “For a few minutes last night. I told them I told you about the baby.”
Geno fiddles with the edge of his cup. “They know is me?”
“No. I didn’t tell them that much.”
“What they say when you tell them I know?”
Sid shrugs. “Not much. My parents are still hoping I’ll change my mind, I guess. But my sister is happy.”
“Glad you have her, at least. Hope your parents come around.”
“What, um, what about your parents? Did you, um, tell them about…?” Sid glances down at his midsection.
“I not tell them yet, no.”
“Oh. Right.” Sid’s not sure what he expected and he works hard to push back the pang that’s threatening to bubble up inside him
“Going to tell them, Sid.”
“You don’t have to.”
Geno frowns. “Not keep something like this secret from them. Is just hard, try to figure out how to say. Worry how they respond.”
“You think they’ll, ah, be upset?”
Geno sighs and runs a hand through his hair as he leans forward to rest his elbows on the table. “Maybe. Probably.” He takes a deep breath. “Mama, Papa very close to me but they not really know about my private life. Just not sure how they react when they find out, you know.”
“Find out about the baby or…?” Sid feels like it probably doesn’t need to be said.
Geno nods. “In Russia, be with guy very bad. Not safe.”
“Yeah,” Sid swallows hard. For the first time he’s thinking about consequences beyond the scope of Pittsburgh and the NHL and he’s suddenly grateful he’s from Canada.
“Not something I need to tell them before but now…”
“Right. Now I’m pregnant and fucked that up for you.”
Geno looks up and grabs Sid’s wrist. “You not fuck anything up, Sid. Take two people make this happen. Was my choice, too and I’m not regret.”
“Well, I’ll understand if you decide not to tell anyone. I mean, I’d get it.”
“Not going to be that way. Just have to figure out best way. Maybe not be easy but I do because it’s important. Besides, better to tell now than someone here find out and they hear in press.”
Sid looks up, struck again by all the things weighing on Geno with this pregnancy.
“I guess we should probably be more careful around town, too. I mean, if it got out it would be bad.”
Geno sighs and runs a hand through his hair again. “Would be very bad. Here, maybe not as much but Russia… I probably can’t go back.”
“Oh god.  You can’t—” Sid shakes his head. Somewhere in his mind he knew it but hearing it like this brings it into stark contrast. “I can’t be the person responsible for that. I won’t tell anyone, Geno. I promise.”
“Not the kind of thing to keep secret forever. Eventually, baby born and grow. Seem impossible to keep thing like this secret.”
“We’ll do it, we’ll find a way.”
Geno shakes his head. “You really want that? Not so sure I do.”
Sid’s heart sinks. “What do you mean?”
“Even if we could keep total secret, what kind of life that be for our baby? What kind of life that be for us? Maybe not ideal and maybe some hard consequences but still a baby, still going to be child for us to raise. Our baby, Sid.”  To Sid’s surprise, Geno smiles and it fills him warmth.
“Only know for two days and already think about baby growing up. Want to teach him to skate and play hockey, want to take him to family skate and bring him to games.”
Sid realizes he’s smiling too. “Him?”
Geno’s grin brightens. “Have a feeling.”
“What if it’s a girl?”
“Not matter. Do all same thing. All that matter is she our baby, our family.” Geno’s smile stretches across his face. “We gonna get to love our little baby and watch him grow up. Maybe hard, little bit scary now but gonna be worth it, you know?”
And Sid suddenly has to blink back tears because in all the time he’s known about the pregnancy, he’d never felt like he could talk about his future with his baby, that he could look forward to it. It had hurt that everyone saw this as a burden, nothing but a crisis to manage. But now Geno is saying things out loud that Sid has barely felt allowed to even think privately.
“Yeah.” Sid has to swallow. “I do,” he breathes and he means it.
“Wouldn’t trade for anything now that I know, Sid. Don’t care what happen.”
“But what about the team? The NHL, Russia?”
Geno meets his gaze. “We figure it out. Not want you worry about it, okay? Just focus on take care of you and take care of baby. Most important.”
Sid sighs. “I’ll try. I, um, I have a doctor’s appointment in a couple of days.”
Geno’s face lights up and Sid’s glad he told him. “When? Maybe I find way to go?”
“Friday at three.”
Geno frowns. “Have meeting.”
“Oh. Well, I…”
“I’m sorry.”
Sid takes a deep breath and forces himself to look at Geno. “You don’t have to apologize. I know you have responsibilities. Honestly, the fact that you care at all means a lot. So, don’t worry, okay?”
Geno nods, looking a little miserable. “You call me, tell how it goes?”
“For sure.”
“Maybe we get together after?”
Sid smiles because this is just all so much more and so much better than he ever expected. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
Geno drives Sid back to where he’d parked earlier. It’s still crowded and Sid knows they can’t linger with Geno idling in a no parking zone so he pulls the envelope out of his pocket and pushes it into Geno’s hands before he gets out of the car.
“What this?”
“It’s not all of it, not even close but it’s part of what I owe you.”
Geno frowns. “Sid…”
“Not negotiable. See you Friday.” He closes the door before Geno can reply

“Why do you hate me?” - Ben Hardy | part 17
Tumblr media
a/n: one more part left!! feedback is appreciated ❤️
Today is the day.
You were standing in front of the full-length mirror in the hotel room, where you and your bridal party were getting ready in. You were just in your lingerie, your hair and makeup already complete. The pure white garter hugged your thigh perfectly, the sparkling tiara sat atop your styled hair. You looked like a princess. Well, a princess in her under garments. Your dress rested perfectly beside the mirror, waiting for you to step into it and start the best day of your life.
Your bridesmaids, which consisted of your sister, Leila, Katherine, Lucy, Priya, Jessica, and your best friend since you were little, were all frantic, running around the room and the hotel, trying to make sure everything was perfect and ready. You, however, continued to stare into the mirror, wondering why you got so lucky with such an amazing boyfriend, and a group of close friends you love dearly. Everything felt too perfect. The last time things felt this way, you and Ben almost broke up.
“(Y/N)?” You were broken out of your daze by Leila, wondering what the hell you were doing.
“Are you okay?” You sighed and shrugged.
“What if everything goes wrong? What if Ben gets scared, or worse, what happens if our marriage doesn’t last?” Your voice dropped to a whisper, too scared to speak it into existence.
“You have nothing to worry about. Ben loves you so much, and there’s no doubt he isn’t having second thoughts.”
“But what if he is?!” You yelled out. You didn’t mean to sound so rude, you were just stressing out. A lot.
“I’ll go and talk to Ben, okay?” You nodded and thanked her, reaching for your robe that Ben’s mom got you specially made. It said “Mrs. Jones” on the back. You sat on the bed and fiddled with your fingers. You stared up at your dress this time, smiling softly at the fact that in an hour, you were going to be walking down the aisle in it.
Your thoughts were yet again interrupted, this time by a knock on your door. You stood and quickly ran to answer it. You saw Gwilym standing there, in his tux, ready for the ceremony to start.
“Hey Gwil, what’s up?” Your heart started to race as you thought of the different scenarios he was coming to talk to you about. Did Ben want to call off the wedding? Is something wrong?
“I just came to see how you’re doing,” he said. You shut the door and shook your head.
“I’m kinda freaking out. I’m scared Ben is gonna back out, or something is going to happen, or in the future, our marriage won’t last. I don’t know why I feel this way. I love Ben so much,” you poured your heart out to him.
“I actually came here because of Ben. He’s the same way you are right now, freaking out over how you feel about this, wanting to talk to you and see if you’re still on the same page.” You immediately felt relief knowing that nothing serious was wrong.
“Does he still want to marry me?” You asked in a hushed voice.
“He does. I promise you. The minute he woke up, he hasn’t been able to stop mentioning that he’s marrying you today.” You giggled softly at his annoyance of his friend.
“I can’t wait to marry him. He makes me so happy.”
“You make him happy, too. I haven’t seen him this happy in a while. I can guarantee you he’ll be there at the end of the aisle. Actually, he might already be there now,” Gwil poked fun at Ben’s impatience. You laughed loudly and pulled Gwilym into a huge hug.
“Thank you. I wonder how Leila is, she went to see Ben for me.”
“Yeah, I saw her getting off the elevator. She told me you were a mess, I told her Ben was a mess. You two are literally made for each other,” he chuckled, rubbing your back softly.
“Just get past this last hour, okay? And I promise everything with be okay.” You nodded at his words as he left. You went back to staring at your dress, a wide smile gracing your lips as you were no longer scared, but now restless and impatient to walk down the aisle.
Leila returned a couple minutes after Gwilym left, and she pretty much told you everything he told you; Ben was so excited to marry you.
So, in the last hour you had as an engaged woman, you were surrounded by your friends and family, the photographer you hired for the entire wedding continued to snap pictures of you chatting, and eventually starting to get ready.
You finally slipped into your dress, with the help of the others of course. Once it was perfectly fit, tears sprung to your eyes. Even though it was a little simple, you still looked amazing. And who needed a huge dress when you’re getting married in a castle?
The dress consisted of a lace top and sleeves, and the skirt was a simple tulle skirt. You immediately fell in love with it the moment you laid eyes on it, you knew it was the one.
Tumblr media
“(Y/N), you look absolutely gorgeous!” Your mom said, covering her mouth as she stepped into the room. You turned to her, tears still falling, and wrapped your arms around her.
“Your father and the rest of the groomsmen left for the venue. They should be there in about fifteen minutes. So we can leave then.” You nodded at her words and turned back to your bridal party. They all brought you in for a hug, quietly congratulating you and crying with you. This has been a long time coming, and you couldn’t wait until Ben was finally, and hopefully for forever, yours.
“Alright! Time to get married!” Leila yelled loudly as she raised your hand up, celebrating the end of those fifteen minutes. You laughed and slipped your shoes on, delicately picked up your veil, and headed out of the hotel.
The nerves finally set in, this was it. This last stretch of time, and you would finally be walking down the aisle. The entire car ride consisted of the girls trying to get your mind off of your anxious thoughts. So, the driver put on some Queen, the only thing that made sense to play as you two literally met while on set for the Queen biopic.
The limo pulled up in front of the huge, fairy tale-like castle, and you started to shake slightly. Taking a deep breath, Leila helped you step out of the car and helped insert your veil into your hair. Once it was set, you started the small trek to the entrance, where the groomsmen and your father were waiting.
You reached the group and grabbed for your father’s arm. He smiled happily at you, and you could see the tears in his eyes. He rubbed your hand with his as you stood farther away while the groomsmen and bridesmaids took their places. Your aunt opened the door to the entrance and waved for Gwilym and Leila, the best man and maid of honor, to start walking. One by one, each pair disappeared inside.
Your younger cousin, the flower girl, and Ben’s young cousin, the ring bearer, were finally next. She got her basket ready and entered the threshold.
Here goes nothing.
“You ready?” You heard your dad ask from beside you. You grinned widely and nodded as your aunt opened the door for you. She smiled at you and stood to the side. You looked up to see everyone standing, staring at you in complete awe. Your heart was racing as you searched for the one pair of eyes that only mattered to you.
And once you found them, your heart sped up even more. His green eyes were wide with love and shock, glossed over with tears as he held his hand over his mouth.
He couldn’t believe you were to be his.
Tears fell down his cheeks as you stepped closer and closer to the altar. You saw his knees buckle slightly, Gwilym managing to grab his arms to steady him. You let out a light laugh as you saw that moment play out.
Once you were right in front of him, you stopped. Your dad leaned in to press a kiss to your cheek, and handed your hand to Ben. He gladly took it, despite his insecurity of his hand being extremely warm and sweaty.
“Hi,” he whispered, tears still cascading down his cheeks. You reached up and gently wipe some away with your thumb. You felt your own tears pool in your eyes as you tried your best to conceal them. You turned towards the officiant and the ceremony started. You were too caught up in your thoughts about Ben, you could barely pay attention to the man.
“Now, it’s time for the vows the happy couple has prepared.” Ben nodded to you, signaling for you to go first. There was a microphone stand right in the middle of you two, so you didn’t have to worry about speaking loudly.
“Ben, from the day I met you, I knew there was something special about you. Sure, you may have not liked me the first two months of filming, but that didn’t stop me from trying to talk to you, be around you, and even try to get to know you. It took us three months to get past that hurdle, one of which was my fault. But nothing in the past matters because I’m standing here today, with you, getting ready to start another new chapter in our lives. Three years ago, I don’t think I saw myself ever getting married, let alone finding someone who means the world to me. I also didn’t expect you, my on-screen husband, who hated me because I got along with our co-star quickly, to be that guy. But, I wouldn’t trade anything, I wouldn’t want to be standing here with anyone else. Because I love you so much, Ben Hardy. And I’m so thankful that these past three years of extreme ups and downs in our relationship has finally come to a happy ending.” Your voice started to quiver as you finished your vows, tears cascading down your cheeks. You couldn’t conceal them anymore.
“Ben,” the officiant nodded his head towards your soon-to-be husband. Ben took a deep breath, lifting his hand to quickly wipe some tears away before he started.
“I’ve always believed in love at first sight. Although it may seem stupid and unreasonable, I really do believe that when you see someone, you can tell if you are going to love them or be with them in the future. (Y/N), I fell in love with you the second I saw you. Seeing you with Gwilym made me realize that I probably wouldn’t have a chance with you, no matter how much I wanted it, so I pushed you away. And still, to this day, I deeply regret my actions. I regret not talking to you for two months, instead opting out for rude and insensitive comments. I really don’t understand why you gave me a second chance, let alone a third one a little over a year ago. I’m not the best person, I make mistakes, a lot of them, but you still stayed with me. You still waited for me, you managed to forgive me every time I messed up, and I cannot thank you enough. You are the love of my life, and like you said, I really can’t see myself with anyone else. You are perfect for me. You complete me, and I love you so much, darling. I know the three years we’ve known each other haven’t exactly been ideal, so going forward with our lives, I promise to make you so happy to make up for all of the shit and heartbreak I put you through.” He finished and threw the paper behind his shoulder for Gwil to catch, and grabbed your hands, bringing you closer. The officiant smiled and began with the ‘I do’s.’
“I do,” you whispered, staring into Ben’s eyes with every syllable you repeated from the man.
“I do,” Ben repeats. His eyes bore into yours as well. You could see them glistening with tears as the ceremony was coming to a close.
“I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss your bride, Mr. Hardy.” With those words, the man stepped back a few inches and Ben stepped close to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. His lips were immediately pressed against yours, one hand coming up to cup your cheek and keep you close. You pulled back from the semi-heated kiss and smiled lightly.
“Now I can finally call you husband and it actually be true. I love you, Ben Jones.”
“My wife. I love you so much, (Y/N) Jones.”
“Why do you love me?” His smirk softened into a loving grin.
“So many reasons, and I can’t wait to show you tonight,” he whispered in your ear and winked after pulling away. A blush crept up your neck and to your cheeks as he chuckled and kissed your heated skin.
You turned towards all of yours and Ben’s friends and family, smiling widely as he held your embraced hands in the air. Everyone cheered and clapped louder, cries making their way through the crowd as you two walked down the aisle as a married couple.
“Ready for the reception?” Ben asked once you two were outside in the nice weather that London is currently having.
“Do you think we could skip it and go back to the hotel?” You asked suggestively and jokingly. Ben playfully rolled his eyes and pulled you into a hug. The photographer snapped picture after picture of the sweet moment.
“I don’t think our families would be too happy. Plus we have to have our first dance, have a lovely dinner and cake. I think you can wait to do it, love.”
“Don’t know if I’m gonna be able to keep my hands off you all night, though, Jonesy.”
“Well, I have no problem with that, Mrs. Jones.”

Remember Me - Chapter 14
(First Chapter) (Previous Chapter) (Next Chapter)
Word Count: 5,504 (Total Word Count: 57,367) Read on AO3
Story Summary:
It was strange enough for the paladins of Voltron to have found another human this far from home, locked in a Galra prison. But it was stranger still when this human insisted that he knew them, and even that he was the former red paladin of Voltron.
That couldn’t possibly be true, could it? After all, if this Keith was actually a part of the Voltron team, then why does nobody remember him?
Chapter Preview:
“Keith,” Allura snapped. “What do you think you’re doing?!”
“Saving the stupid mission, what’s it look like I’m doing?” Keith shot back.
“You were supposed to stay on the bridge with Coran!”
“Whoops,” Keith said drily. “Guess I forgot. Lance, on your eleven.”
“On my - hey!” Lance yelped, veering Red away as Keith sped by mere inches from her port flank. “Watch where you’re flying!”
“How’re things looking, Pidge?”
“Well, the intel holds true. We’re definitely getting readings in line with the ones the rebels sent us.”
“And you’re sure it’s quintessence?”
“Either that or the most bizarre new form of static cling ever discovered.”
Allura sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose as she frowned up at the screen where imaging from the Green Lion’s viewport was being projected back into the bridge, where the other paladins stood gathered, watching intently. “Pidge,” Allura said, “What have I told you about being sarcastic when reporting to base?”
“Hard to say, princess, I tend to tune you out when we get onto that topic.”
“Pidge,” Shiro said, tone scolding.
“Sorry. In any case, there’s definitely readings of quintessence on this ship, but it’s also definitely… different.”
“Different how?” Allura asked. “Different like the quintessence the Blade’s been trailing?”
“No, see here.” The view on the screen switched to Pidge’s helmet cam, and she pointed to a readout on her dashboard. “There’s no pattern to the energy surges. The quintessence that the Blade found in connection to Lotor had different energy readings than the ones we have on record from that druid lab we found way back when, but they were still regular. This stuff here, though, it’s like - it seems… unstable.”
“Maybe it’s because you’re moving around in Green,” Lance suggested. “Like, you know, you’re getting closer and farther to the ship, so the reading’s weird?”
“No, Lance,” Pidge sighed. “That’s not it.”
“Well, we can’t know that for sure until - ”
“Yes, we can. Distance doesn’t affect how Green picks up quintessential residue. She releases a signal toward a pre-calculated epicenter on the targeted area that remains completely static regardless of - ”
“Never mind,” Lance said. “I just decided you know what you’re doing.”
“Oh, goody, I feel validated.”
“Could whatever’s creating the quintessence energy be being actively altered right now?” Shiro asked. “Perhaps there’s a working lab in that ship?”
“Doubtful,” Coran spoke up. “Not with that make of ship. It’s a cargo ship, for one thing, but beyond that, it looks to be modeled after the Galra’s old Lexell-N-13 ships. Wonderful stability in the engine room, but notoriously terrible at maintaining internal gravity levels. A dreadful place to be doing precision lab work.”
“So, what are we looking at, then?” Allura asked.
“Transporting supplies, no doubt,” Coran answered. “Whatever’s leaving the quintessence traces may be what’s being experimented upon.”
“Not sure if that really gives us the greatest well of answers as to what the druids have been up to,” Keith commented from the back of the group. “Not if we don’t get access to their process in action, I mean.” This was the first he had spoken since Allura had told them about the signal the rebel group had picked up. Amid their wormholing to the coordinates and sending Pidge out in her cloaked Green Lion to scout out the ship the rebels had come across, he had remained quiet, intently focused.
“Perhaps not the greatest,” Coran replied, “But still useful. We can certainly glean information from whatever is being transported, both the cargo itself and inventory logs, and if they’re keeping travel records, we could use those to find out where the ship is coming from and where it’s going - two other locations that would be immense resources to us.”
Shiro nodded. “All right. Princess, your call: are we looking at an infiltration mission here?”
“That would probably be the best course of action,” Allura answered.
Lance lifted his hand in question. “Should we go for hijacking the ship while we’re down there? I’m just thinking, if this stuff important to Witch Lady, probably would be helpful to keep it from getting to checkpoint B, right?”
“Not in this case, no,” said Allura. “If we’re able to get information about the ship’s docking points, we’re going to want to be able to go investigate them afterward. As long as we’re stealthy and don’t impede the ship’s route, they won’t know we’re coming. If we interfere with them though, or if they’re able to send off any communication that something’s gone wrong en route, they’ll have time to clear the evidence. And if that prison was anything to go by, it seems that’s something at which the druids are quite adept.”
“All right,” Shiro said with a brisk nod. “I could join Pidge, and we can go down in Green and try and make our way into the ship.”
“Sounds good,” Allura said. “Lance, be on standby in Red in case they need help making a quick exit. Hunk and I can ready Blue and Yellow in case any shots start firing, and we can regroup once you’re either finished, or if a battle situation erupts.”
“What should I do?” Keith asked as the others started toward their ziplines.
Allura paused mid-step. “What - what should you do?”
Keith nodded. “Yeah. Should I ride down with someone, or do we have any cruisers to spare, or…?”
“Right. Right.” Allura cleared her throat. “Well, actually, er, it - it would probably be very helpful to have an extra set of eyes here on the bridge to, say, keep an eye on - ”
“Uh-huh,” Keith cut her off, and Lance could practically see him physically deflating. “Yeah, I’m sure that’ll be helpful.”
Allura sighed. “Keith, this isn’t a matter of you not being helpful, it’s - ”
“I just figured, you know, this is sort of my mission too, isn’t it?” Keith asked. “I mean, we’re - we’re looking into this ship because it’s a lead on, um, my - my, uh, my whole… deal, with Haggar, and I thought - ”
“Keith - ”
“And like I’ve already told you, I’ve got experience with infiltration missions, so I know what I - ”
“Keith,” Shiro said. He had doubled back toward him from his path toward the zipline, and he set his hand on Keith’s shoulder, turning the smaller man slightly to look him in the face. “I promise you, this isn’t anything personal. I’m sure you’d do just fine on a mission. But right now, we just need to do this quickly and efficiently, and that’s going to be more difficult if there’s an unfamiliar element in the mix, you know? We’re, ah, used to the current Voltron dynamic, we know how to work off of it.”
Keith bit at his lower lip for a moment before dropping his gaze and nodding. “Right, sorry,” he mumbled. “I hadn’t thought of - I’ll, uh, stay here with Coran.” Shiro smiled and patted his shoulder before moving away.
“Oh, I’m honored to have the companionship!” Coran said, brightly and just a little too loudly to be perfectly natural, before throwing his arm around Keith’s shoulder and tugging him toward the mission control screens. “Don’t know how many of these instruments you’re familiar with, so let me give you a quick rundown!”
He began an enthusiastic tutorial of the various monitors and buttons, and the other paladins took the opportunity to start toward the ziplines again. Lance shuffled over to walk beside Shiro. “You know,” he whispered. “You don’t have to do that.”
“Do what?” Shiro asked.
“Like, give Keith a whole speech if he doesn’t like an order? I know you’ve never been big on pulling rank, but, I mean, you and Allura are in charge, right?”
Shiro shrugged. “It doesn’t hurt anything. ‘Specially when he’s still not in the greatest state mentally and all.”
“He’s a lot better on that mark lately. It just doesn’t seem - ”
“Gotta split up here, Lance,” Shiro said, gesturing toward the zipline entrances.
Lance huffed out a breath. “Right,” he grunted, parting ways with Shiro and moving toward his own zipline. He could let the matter drop. It wasn’t as if he actually cared about whether Shiro was coddling Keith too much. It just had seemed worth a mention.
That’s all.
He slid down the zipline and into Red’s waiting cockpit, and from there he flew out of the hangar to wait, and it was easy to put any concerns about how Shiro was handling Keith to the back of his mind. Red had a way of keeping him focused during a mission. Lance wasn’t sure if it was just the thrill that came with being in the pilot seat, or if the Red Lion’s own keenness and confidence were contagious. Probably the latter, if he were to be honest. And it was something he wouldn’t trade away for the world.
He waited for the others to get their places situated; Allura and Hunk were flanking Black on the way down so Shiro could move into Green for the infiltration itself, and keeping the lion covered until Shiro could return to the pilot’s seat. Once Shiro had made his move, he tailed Green along back toward the Galra ship, keeping his distance.
“Found what looks to be a good entry point over beneath this wing,” Pidge said into the comms. “I can keep Green’s cloaking on and dock her. Lance, keep an eye out on the exterior and be ready in case we need to use a different exit point.”
“Roger,” Lance said. He started Red on a wide swingaround to the other side of the Galra ship, keeping his eyes peeled all the while for any activity.
“You got any schematics you can send my way, Coran?”
“Got some for the old Lexell-N-13,” Coran answered. “Not sure it will be precisely the same as this ship, but should give you a good guideline.”
“Pass ‘em over,” Pidge said. “Long as an access point to their security network’s in roughly the same place, I’m good to go.”
Lance kept his position in the air, and the others were quiet over their comms as they waited before Shiro said softly, “Disembarking Green now.”
“Got you on my radar, Shiro,” Lance said, pulling up the thermal imaging scope on Red’s dashboard and focusing onto the entry site Pidge had pointed out earlier, where two bright blurs indicated Shiro and Pidge’s presence. “Think your coast is clear.”
“All right, I’ll make my way toward security,” Pidge said. “Assuming that these schematics are accurate?”
“I’m eighty percent sure that they are,” Coran said.
“Good enough. Okay, Shiro, quintessence reading’s mostly centered farther back along the cargo bay toward the aft fuselage. Start heading that way, I’ll monitor you?”
“Already on it,” Shiro said.
Lance watched as the two blurs from their heat signatures parted and took off, tracking them until they started overlapping with others on the ship in connecting hallways. At that point he minimized the thermal vision on his dashboard and brought Red around to monitor from behind the cover of one of the ship’s elevons.
“At the security bank,” Pidge said after a few doboshes, “How’s everyone holding up?”
“Hunk and I are holding steady out here, Pidge,” Allura replied.
“Same here,” Lance said.
“Think I’m gonna need a hand, actually,” Shiro said. “Door’s not responding to my arm.”
“Shit, hang on, I don’t see any alarm raised or anything, so what did - ”
“It didn’t light up red or sound an alarm, it was just unresponsive. Seems like it’s turned off.”
“All right, hang on, let me get that powered back up for you.” There was quiet for a few moments before Pidge said, “Uh, Shiro, what door are you trying to open?”
“The cargo bay entrance? Why?”
“Well, I’m looking, and I can’t find any entrance to the cargo bay.”
“What?”
“Like, there’s definitely a cargo hold here on the ship, got official schematics here in the security bank, but I can’t… figure out how to get there.”
“Could you send those schematics my way, Pidge?” Coran asked.
“Sure thing.”
“Pidge?” said Shiro. “If this isn’t the entrance to the cargo hold - ”
“Hold on, let me find you on the monitors… yeah, looks like you’re trying to access a liquid hydrogen tank.”
“Then how do I get to the cargo hold?”
“I’m looking…”
“Don’t forget, Pidge,” Coran said. “You’re also looking for access to transport records and inventory logs.” In the background, Lance could hear Keith’s voice softly ask, “Can I look at the schematics?”
“Yeah, yeah, I didn’t forget,” Pidge said. “I’ve got two hands, Coran, I can only type so much at once.”
“So what should I - ” Shiro started.
“Lay low for sec,” Pidge answered. “Look, I’ll - I’ll keep an eye on the cameras while I work my way into their records, Coran can start trying to figure out a way into the cargo hold.”
“I don’t think there is one,” Keith said.
A pause, then, “Come again, Mullet?” Lance asked.
“Well, I mean, there is, technically, but it’s not - look, I recognize these schematics, we infiltrated a ship with this exact same layout once when I was with the Blades, must have been the same model of - ”
“Now, Keith,” Allura sighed, “We have been over this. You were never actually - ”
“No, okay, whatever, I wasn’t actually a Blade, but I swear, I know this ship! And you’re not gonna be able to get to the cargo hold, not from inside.”
“What are you talking about?” Pidge asked.
“It’s an added security measure to ensure that only select people have access to whatever’s being transported. You can’t get to the cargo hold from inside, not unless you go completely smashing through some walls. The only way to get to the cargo is through the exterior bay doors, and they locking mechanisms and key codes aren’t connected to the ship’s internal network, so Pidge won’t be able to hack them from where she is.”
“Aw, isn’t it so sweet how much the Galra all respect and trust each other,” Pidge muttered. “So what, we’re gonna have to go try to get into the cargo bay from the outside?”
“Nothing doing, short stuff,” Lance said. “I’ve got the exterior cargo bay doors in my view. Windows all around, right in the line of a laser turret just off the starboard wing, no place to dock Green… there’s no way in Hell you’d ever be able to get in there without being spotted.”
Keith let out a little grunt of frustration before saying, “Well, then, forget about the stealth, and you can just - ”
“Absolutely not,” Allura said. “Remember, if we give away our activity, we give them the opportunity to clear out evidence wherever the ship is intending to go.”
“But - ”
“Sorry, Keith, but Allura’s right,” Shiro said. “For now, we may just have to forego the cargo and focus on Pidge’s info download.”
“...Fine.”
“Well,” Pidge said. “The good news is, that shouldn’t take much longer. Think I’m just about into their primary drive, so if we - ” A sudden blare sounded into the comms, making Lance wince and put a hand over his ear. “Fuck!” Pidge spat.
“What happened?!” Shiro cried.
“Pidge, did you trigger an alarm?!” Hunk asked.
“No, no way, I - ”
Whatever she said next, Lance didn’t hear. His eyes widened as one of the turrets on the ship rotated toward him. A nudge from Red kept his surprise from freezing him in his tracks, and he had time to grab onto the steering and pull away before a laser blast came shooting his way.
“Crap!” Hunk yelped. “They’re shooting!”
“You don’t say?!” Lance grunted. “Sorry, Pidge, they spotted Red, think that’s what triggered the alarm!”
“Shit,” Pidge muttered. “Woulda been nice for you to wait a few minutes more before making your grand entrance, Lance!”
“Hey, Red is a gigantic robot lion in the sky, there’s only so much I can do to keep her from being noticed!”
“Paladins, please!” Allura said. “This is not the time! Pidge, Shiro, get back to Green! I’ll escort Black around so Shiro can make the transfer. Hunk, you’re on defense, get to Lance and stave off any attacks. Coran, prepare the castle for me to return and make a wormhole for us.”
A chorus of ‘right’s and ‘roger’s sounded through the comms as everyone hastened to comply with the orders. Lance dove out of the way of another blast from the ship before sending one of his own back through Red’s open mouth.
“Hey,” Keith said. “As long as your cover’s been blown - ”
“Not really a good time, Keith!” Lance shouted as he narrowly dodged another blast.
“But we can use whatever’s in the cargo hold!”
“Keith, we don’t have time,” Pidge said. “I don’t know how long it will take to figure out the locking mechanism on the bay doors, and we can’t - ”
“Then forget the locking mechanism, you can get through the doors by force!”
“If we wreck the doors or the cargo bay, we’ll no doubt also destroy the cargo,” said Shiro.
“If you’re careful about where you hit, there will be enough left intact to at least get something! Bring one of the Lions close enough, and - ”
“Even if that is the case, they’ve got weapons mounted right outside the cargo bay,” Lance pointed out. “You try to get into it, you’ll get shot down easy.”
“Not if you’re fast and you dodge!”
“Enough!” Allura said firmly. “We’re cutting our losses now, and that’s that. This is not up for debate.”
Keith let out a growl of frustration, and Lance heard a thump in the comms before Coran said, “Keith, where are you - ?” He paused, then, “Think he left to cool down.”
“Sounds like a good idea,” Shiro said. “We’re at Green, boarding her now. Allura, ETA?”
“Within the dobosh,” she answered.
“On the bright side, least this wasn’t a total wash,” Pidge said. “Managed to get those transport records opened up before the alarm sounded, so I’ve got coordinates on hand now.”
“Those coordinates certainly would have been more helpful if we’d been able to maintain stealth, but I suppose they’re better than nothing,” Allura said. “We’ll have to - ” She stopped as a beeping sounded over the comms, followed by a thoughtful “Hm” from Coran. “Coran?” she asked. “What was that?”
“Erm, nothing, princess,” Coran answered.
“Coran - ”
“Allura, we’ve got visual on you and Black!” Shiro interrupted. “Moving in for transfer now.”
“Right, right,” Allura said.
“Feel free to hurry,” Lance said as Red sent another blast of flame toward the ship, “Sooner we get that wormhole opened, the better.”
“We’re all more than aware of that, Lance,” Allura said.
“Hey, guys? Looks like they have reinforcement coming in,” Hunk said.
“Quiznak, you’re kidding me!” Allura said. “What are we looking at here?”
“Just a small cruiser on my six o’clock, but I don’t know if more are intending to follow.”
“You and Lance hurry and take care of them.”
“On it,” Lance said, moving Red so that Yellow was blocking the ship from her before turning to face the new threat.
Just as he was preparing a beam, though, his comm crackled and Keith’s voice sounded into his ear. “Wait, wait, don’t shoot, that’s me!”
“Keith?!” Lance cried. “You’re their reinforcements?!”
“Wha - no! This is one of the castle’s cruisers!”
“I know what I’m doing, Lance,” Keith growled.
“Like fuck you do,” Lance muttered as he turned to watch Keith speeding straight toward the ship. “Hey dumbass, you do realize that’s where the lasers are coming from, right?!”
“I’m aware,” Keith answered, dodging one even as they spoke, not letting up on his speed for a moment.
“I’m heading back toward the castle, wormhole to follow shortly,” Allura said. “What exactly are you - ?”
“I told you,” Keith said, “You wanna get into that cargo bay, you gotta use force.”
“Keith, you’re gonna get shot down before you get within a mile of that cargo!” Lance shouted.
“No, I’m not!”
“Yes, you - oh, for the love of - ” He hastily turned Red to fire at the turret that had been aiming for Keith’s cruiser. “See?! That thing just almost took you out!”
“But it didn’t!”
“Yeah, and you got me to thank for that! Now would you just - ” A crash echoed over the comms, and Lance’s jaw dropped as Keith rammed diagonally right into the exterior cargo hold door, leaving a massive dent in its wake.
“Keith!” Shiro shouted. “Stop that, you’re going to wind up hurt!”
“I already said I know what I’m doing,” Keith said. He started making a wide turn away from the ship, getting back into position to start careening toward it again.
“I hope you’re aware that the castle’s healing pods aren’t quite as good at healing corpses,” Allura said.
“Noted,” Keith replied, right before another crash, louder still than the one before it, and this time Keith’s cruiser managed to get through the cargo bay door, the tail end of the ship left sticking out of the vaguely cruiser-shaped hole in the metal.
“... Keith?” Shiro said. “Keith, come in! Keith!”
“Oh my God, is Keith dead?!” Hunk squeaked out.
“I’m fine,” Keith groaned. “Just… just a little winded.”
“Keith, are you hurt?” Shiro asked.
“I’m disemarking for a moment.”
“That doesn’t answer my question!”
“Hang on, there’s - shit,” Keith spat. Blasts started coming through the comms, and when Lance squinted, he could see small flashes of light in the edges of the hole not currently blocked by the cruiser. “What the hell’s going on in there?” Lance asked.
“I don’t think the cargo hold likes visitors…” Keith said.
“Then get the fuck out of there!” Pidge shouted. “Guess the locking mechanism’s not the only security on that cargo.”
“I know, I’m going, I’m going,” Keith said, and a few ticks later, the cruiser moved, backing out of the cargo door. A couple of small laser blasts followed him out, narrowly missing the cockpit.
As the cruiser made it out of the ship and started moving away, Lance kept half an eye on it. The vehicle didn’t look to be in the same shape it had been before its crash - only natural, he supposed - and Keith was no longer flying nearly as smoothly as before. The cruiser kept slowing and speeding, and repeatedly lurched to the side before being pulled back onto its course.
“Keith, I don’t think you’re ship’s in a good state to be in battle right now,” Shiro said over the comms before Lance could say anything. Seems he wasn’t the only one who noticed the erratic flying.
“It’s nothing,” Keith replied. “Just some dents.”
“It looks like a hell of a lot more than some dents. If you can’t fly it - ”
“I can fly it just fine, it’s just a little - ” He broke off to let out a small cry as a shot from the Galra ship caught his starboard wing, leaving him spinning out for a few ticks before managing to find equilibrium again.
“Just some dents, huh?” Pidge asked.
Keith was silent for a moment before hesitantly replying, “I, uh… I might need some help.”
“I’ve got him,” Lance said, resisting the urge to tear his eyes away from the battle long enough to roll them. “Hunk, cover me.”
“Roger that,” Hunk said. Yellow made a wide turn to fly between Red and the Galra ship, and Lance sped to where Keith’s little cruiser floated to scoop him up into Red’s mouth.
“Thanks,” Keith grunted.
“Uh-huh,” said Lance. “Now, what have we learned today about crashing ourselves into bigger ships and expecting to fly off unscathed afterward?”
“That you’re too chickenshit to try it?” Keith asked, his tone gratingly innocent. Lance scowled and grabbed a joystick on the dash to make Red shake her head back and forth. “Hey!” Keith yelped. “What are you doing?!”
“Sorry, Red had an itch,” Lance said.
“The lions don’t get itches.”
“And you would know that how, exactly?”
Keith went quiet, and Lance had to grimace to himself a little. Admittedly, that remark had been a bit of a low blow. He opened his mouth with the intent to say as much, but lost his trail of thought when the castle’s wormhole opened up in the sky before him.
“All right team, moving out,” Shiro said, and Black led the way through the wormhole, Red and her catch bringing up the rear.
The universe around Lance went eerily quiet as it always did when they went through a wormhole, that sudden transition away from the noise of battle always leaving a ringing in his ears. The silence was soon relieved by a buzz of conversation on the comms, appraising what they’d gotten from that mission and asking what was to be done next.
“Keith, are you going to need a pod?” Shiro asked as Lance neared Red’s hangar.
“Uh, hard to say,” Keith replied. “Think my ship’s more banged up than me, to be honest.”
“Well, it wouldn’t hurt to check just to make sure. Coran?”
“Right-oh, Number One,” Coran said. “I’ll meet you boys in the hangar!”
“Thanks,” Keith grunted right as Red touched down. Lance lowered Keith’s cruiser to the floor delicately, taking care not to jostle it as a silent apology for knocking him around earlier.
Keith was struggling out of the cruiser as Lance descended from Red’s jaw, and the latter let out a low whistle at the state of the smaller vehicle now that he could get a better look at it. A chunk of the starboard wing had been torn off from that blast it had taken, and the crash had left the forward bulkhead half caved in. “Damn,” Lance said, “If this is what you consider ‘dented’, I’d hate to see your idea of a wreck.”
“It’s… probably mostly cosmetic damage,” Keith said, and Lance turned to him. This was also first time getting a look at Keith, since their communication had been entirely over the comms rather than any video feed, and Lance raised his brow at the other’s appearance. Keith had at some point outfitted himself in a thick, boxy armor and helmet, silvery-white save for pale blue accents on the joints and above the visor, a color scheme Lance recognized as that belonging to the old Altean military uniforms in the castle’s storage. Keith finished exiting the ship fully, pale face grimacing as he planted himself on the metal floor of the hangar. His left arm was tucked into his abdomen, his right arm wrapped around it, and he tilted as he found his footing.
Lance frowned. “Your ability to assess your ship’s damage doesn’t give me much faith in your whole ‘I don’t need a pod’ thing.” Keith just sighed.
The door to Red’s hangar opened then with its electronic whir, and Coran marched in with an authoritative stride. “All right, let’s see what the damage - good gracious!” he said as he approached and got a look at the ship. “That looks like - ”
“Yeah, I know,” Keith said. “I’m sorry. It can be repaired though, right?”
“Nothing’s ever beyond repair,” Coran replied. “But it certainly won’t be a quick job.” He tutted as he stepped in to examine the ship more closely. “You’ve got Hunk and my work cut out for us, haven’t you.”
“Sorry,” Keith said again.
“Well, what’s done is done.” He shook his head before turning back to Keith. “Now, boy, this ship’s not the only thing that took a beating, correct?” He gestured toward Keith’s abdomen. “Come now, let the Coranic have a look.”
Keith slowly moved his arm away, and Lance winced when the left hand came away covered in a splattering of scarlet. Coran pounced immediately, tutting away as he moved Keith’s arms aside and examined the injury himself, so Lance had to step around and crane his neck to see the blood seeping through a seam in the plackart.
“Dear dear,” Coran said. “I assume this was from that little crash?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Keith said. “Kinda wound up thrown into some dented part of the ship’s dashboard. I, uh… there was a little, um, I felt a crack.”
“A rib may have broken through the skin,” Coran remarked. “Let’s see about getting this armor removed, yes?”
“Is everything all right?” a voice called. Lance looked up to see the others at the entrance to the hangar. Shiro was at the front of the group, making his way briskly toward them, and he hadn’t even so much as removed his helmet before coming to check the damage, just having rolled up the visor instead. “Keith, are you okay?”
“I’m okay,” Keith answered as Shiro stepped in to hover over him at Keith’s side. The others, as they joined, hung back, giving Keith some space.
“Okay, my ass,” Shiro said. “You’re bleeding.”
“Well, I’ve had worse,” Keith said. “It’s not like this is the first time I’ve ever crashed a ship.” He squeezed his eyes shut and sucked a breath between his teeth as Shiro carefully peeled the chestplate from him. “And this one wasn’t even so bad. Yeah, I got thrown, but - but normally I hold up better than this, I swear.”
“Where did you get that armor?” Allura asked, frowning at the chestplate.
“Uh, in the armory?”
“Why did you select this armor?”
“It - it looked like it would fit? Why?”
“Because, this is infantry armor,” Allura answered. “It’s no wonder you got hurt. This armor’s not designed to hold against the sort of impact that would come from a full-bodied high-speed collision.” She lifted her gaze from the armor to Keith’s face, eyes narrowed. “You’re awfully lucky you weren’t hurt worse.”
“Good,” Keith muttered. “‘Bout time I got some good luck.” He gasped as Shiro gently probed at the underarmor an inch above the spot where the skin had broken.
“Definitely going to need a pod,” Shiro said grimly. “Keith, honestly, you gave us all a scare with that stunt of yours. If you want to go on missions with the team, you can’t just - ”
“Hey, that stunt got us quintessence, didn’t it?” Keith snapped.
The others paused, all holding still and staring at Keith in silence. “Um… what?” Shiro said.
“The quintessence. Snatched some before whatever security was in the cargo hold started firing on me. It’s in the cockpit.”
Immediately Allura turned and climbed onto the ship, clambering into the cockpit and stretching past the caved-in parts only to soon slide back out. Her eyes were wide as she gazed at the two clear tubes in her hand, each filled nearly to the top with a glowing, pale-yellow liquid.
“Well,” Shiro said softly. “I’ll be damned.”
“You’re welcome,” Keith said flatly.
Allura sighed. “Keith, regardless of whether or not you managed to - ”
“So sorry to interrupt, princess,” Coran said. “I’m in total agreement that Keith’s in need of a nice long lecture, but perhaps it ought to be saved until after he’s had his time in the pod? Shouldn’t be more than a varga or two.”
“Fine,” Allura said. “Get healed up, then we can discuss your… conduct. I’ll take charge of these in the meantime.” She gestured with a tilt of her head toward the vials of quintessence in her arms.
Keith nodded to her as Shiro slid his arm around Keith’s shoulders in preparation to walk him to the med bay. “Coran and I will get that taken care of,” Shiro said. “You three, go ahead and wind down; we can debrief once Keith’s out of the pod.”
The others nodded, and the group made their way out of the hangar. Beyond the door, they separated, Allura off to the bridge, Shiro and Coran balancing Keith between them en route to the med bay, and the rest heading off to the living quarters.
“All right, I’m just gonna say it,” Lance said as soon as Keith was out of earshot. “Anyone else starting to think New Guy is kind of an asshole?”
“Maybe a little bit,” Pidge said with a shrug. “But even you have to admit, he was pretty badass out there today.”
“Badasshole,” Hunk commented, and, at the looks the other two sent him, added, “Sorry, continue.”
“I’m just saying,” Lance said. “Hey, you guys don’t think Allura and Shiro are actually going to let Keith start joining us on missions and stuff, do you? I mean, yeah, he’s all eager for it, and okay, sure, he can pilot, but after that crap he was pulling, can’t imagine he’s much when it comes to, say, following orders and, oh, not almost killing himself.”
“Hard to say,” Pidge replied. They turned the corner into the hallway housing their bedrooms. “Guess it’ll be their call. If nothing else, having him along for missions will definitely make them, um… exciting.”
Lance rolled his eyes as he made his way to his own bedroom. “And isn’t that just what Voltron needs,” he said drily as he opened the door. “More excitement.”

So I'm not writing this here to be a coward
I'm writing this on Tumblr where he knows nothing only because I'm sparing his hurt and salty feelings. This all nearly went to Facebook, where he would know even though I'd never name names.
Two years ago, on July 21 2017, was the last I'd heard from you. That I have marked. I've deleted out text messages. I said "So long" to our past over a year ago. But I still remember your last message. You'd spoken how you were the only one working so hard. disregarding that while I don't have an actual paying job, I do do everything around my house. Including taking care of your old three legged dog for free.
I never asked you for anything. Anything beyond some of your time, to open to me, because....you know that's how a relationship works.
Maybe you don't count it for something but, I've had your dick in my mouth, and I may have gone on to my old blog to sort of flexed how my jaw was sore but I still liked it. Even if you can't take a touch of pain. You think my unhinged jaw was a tight fit but a week later you tried to get your dick into my vegina didn't you? How much pain do you think I'd've been in if you managed to hit the right hole? Trust me, your prep work wasn't that great. "Give as hard as you Take" and all that.
Maybe that's another reason why we never worked those three times we tried dating. You just aren't man enough to handle a being like me. Heh, that's how long it's been. Times in my life where I wasn't comfortable being a gender-fluid person like I am now, that's how far off you are in my rearview.
I admit, I was stupid enough to give you the tool to break my heart, and you didn't even wait days to do so. Just the possibility of my love made you run like a coward with your tail between your legs. Well my girlfriends picked up your mess. And they gave me love I still wouldn't trade for anything. But when I broke again and pushed them away until they HAD to let go or perish with me, then I was alone. Alone with the three major pieces of my heart.
Funny how I thought these three broken pieces were for them and myself. I thought this little fracture of fragment was the part of my heart that was mine. But no, this piece was yours. Your piece of my triheart. These two large pieces of my heart are for the two I loved and continue to love, I do not recent them for protecting themselves from my self distraction. I do however recent you, for doing what you said you wouldnt.
Six month ago I would have given you everything you're asking for. My forgiveness. My friendship. Another chance. Another opportunity to hurt me all over.
No one was there for me when I was free falling. No one came to my rescue when I hit those storming seas of my own poisoned mind. My own demons attacking me, using my past as "proof" why I wasn't worth it. Why I should have just let the waves take me, and bring me under. I was so tired of battling those waves, of taking in air. How peaceful things nearly were.
It wasn't your hand that reached me under that sea. It wasn't even theirs, though I can still feel the ghost of their hands....I can hear their well wishes and nearly taste their tears of bittersweet happiness.
It was ME. I was the one who threw out that life vest. I saved me. With the help of music, but it was me. I looked around at the ship wreck of my life and decided for myself to fucking kick! If my vest going to save me forever? No. Of course not. But it lets me rest my arms while I push my way to the shore. That far off "shore" of sanity and stability. I didn't know it, until you just sent me that message. But
There's someone wait at the water's edge, and they have people scattered on the beach behind them too. But I can finally see who's smiling for me with their arms wide open. These tears I'm shedding writing this aren't for you. It's for that person who's waiting for me. With that perfect hole in their chest.
It's Me. The better me who's waiting for me to get HOME, that me who's loves me. Who's in love with me and all my sharp angles and harsh flames. That hole in their chest is just Waiting for me to come to shore. To fill that empty space they are waiting for.
You aren't the one helping to swim me back to that beach. You were in the water trying to drag me back under. You're just more of a reminder why I'm supposed to be kicking. Push my way back to that new beautiful place that is the message that saved my life
You can't stop me from loving myself
Tl;dr - I don't need to forgive my ex for hurting me because he doesn't matter. I don't need anything but to love me and save myself.

Because I don’t feel like writing a prompt today doesn’t mean I shouldn’t try writing at all. I actually thought of this as I fell asleep. I’m just... relieved I remembered. Going to switch up my On The Spot tags so I’m not spoiling who the fuck I’m writing for, that’s why they’re under the tag in the first place.
“What are you doing, Sergei?” Dot laughed, amused. “I know you’re not an entire mute.”
Sergei Dragunov’s hands moved; she knew them to be rough and callous at the fingertips. They were large enough to cup her entire face in the palm of his hand, but surprisingly warm sometimes. That must be because he always had them in his gloves. He was signing to her and for some reason, refusing to talk. Their mind link was always an option but there was a deliberate reason he was doing what he was doing.
“What’s he saying?” There was no mistaking the annoyance in Bennett’s tone as he lowered his head and nearly growled in Dot’s ear. Bennett Graves was a very big person in everything, it seemed. Personality, height, build, and attitude. He clearly did not like the fact he was kept out of the loop by Sergei’s swift signing. He didn’t know sign language!
The three of them sat together this morning; Bennett was always attached to Dot in some way as the overprotective father and Daddy to three pups and His very special little girl. And since the pups, he’s only seemed to have gotten worse in terms of his jealousies and possessiveness. The youngest of two elder brothers, the one of which is his very own twin, he was the baby. He was used to getting away with a lot because Aiden never really pulled his ass in line when they were younger and why shouldn’t he had? There was no real reason to curb the destructive path all three brothers were bound. At least, not until a few years ago. Now Bennett found it hard to be his “normal” self breaking old and hurtful habits to trade them in for gentler hands, kinder words because he wanted to know how to be with Dot without seriously hurting her in any way. He was getting used to the fact that he’s not the center of everything. Dot was. But that was more than okay with him and Bennett was content to tell every-fucking-body who listened the same thing. She and the pups were his whole world and he stubbornly, protectively, and possessively held on to his whole world with both hands.
“Tell him it’s none of his business.”
Dot laughed again. “He says it’s none of your business.”
Bennett’s golden gaze snapped to cold, uncaring blue ones. “Why the fuck can’t he tell me that himself?”
“Yeah, why can’t you, Sergei?” Dot grinned.
Sergei’s hands paused and Dot thought she imagined his expression getting harder. If that were anymore possible. Finally, he signed, “It’s a conversation between you and I.”
“Well, that’s true.” Dot admitted.
“...What did he say?” Bennett repeated, moments away from spitting the next thing through his razor sharp teeth.
“He said it’s a--” Sergei signed again and the movement caught out of the corner of her eye.
“Don’t tell him a thing.”
“I don’t know how you managed to make that sound demanding through your hands...” Dot muttered before looking hopelessly at Bennett. “Sorry, Daddy. But i can’t tell You anything.”
“That’s bullshit!” Bennett shouted, nearly jostling Dot as he stood to his feet. Bennett was always a step away from a aggressive punch in the face and it looked like Sergei was managing to hit all the right buttons -- all without saying a word.
Somewhat.
“Perhaps he should have picked up the habit of signing. Didn’t he say he was going to learn?”
“...Yeah,” Dot said, turning from Sergei’s hands to Bennett again. “Didn’t You say You were going to learn how to sign from Lu?”
Bennett blinked and almost immediately, the flame was snuffed out as the subject caused him to think for a moment. He sat down as he asked, “Lu? Yeah. I could have asked him. But then he said somethin’ stupid and I got mad. So, we don’t like Lu right now and I’m definitely not learnin’ anything from him.”
While Dot would agree that her brothers were stupid, Bennett was more likely to get pissed off by something Luvon said that happened to be an observation he pointed out and it wouldn’t entirely be off the mark. But she didn’t say anything after that, she only reached over and gave her Daddy a comforting pat on the knee. However, Sergei was a lot more open to the idea.
“I like Luvon.”
Dot laughed. “Yeah, well, you would.”
“He would, what?” Bennett asked, a little prickly.
“He said he liked Lu.”
Bennett snorted, “babygirl is right. You fuckin’ would.”
“I like Benedict, too.”
“Aww,” Dot sighed, placing her hands over her heart, happy to hear about Benedict in any capacity. But then she paused as she thought over that group of selective men. “Yeah. I bet the three of you get along really well.”
“I don’t need to know sign language to know his ass lumped Bene in there, too, huh?”
“Wow, Daddy, you really didn’t!”
“He’s not as dumb as he looks.”
Dot hadn’t meant to laugh. It was just such a blunt statement and it had taken her off-guard.
“...What?” Bennett asked.
“N-Nothing, Daddy. He asked how Benedict was doing.”
“That is not what I asked, little fibbing girl.”
Dot ignored that particular phrased sign. Bennett was already talking which spared her from looking Sergei in the face to see the matching expression.
“How should I know? The three of y’all hang out so much, it’s annoyin’. Shouldn’t you feel him in your dick or something?”
“I take back what I said about him not being as dumb as he looks.”
Dot breathed in deeply through her nose. “No, Daddy, that’s You and Cavon.”
“...Is that what he said?”
“That’s what i’m saying!”
“Oh. Then you’d be right.”
“We exchange messages through our phones like normal people.”
Dot laughed again and Bennett immediately looked suspicious.
“I really don’t like that I can’t fuckin’ understand him.”
“He just said they exchange texts. Like normal people.”
Bennett’s closed fist came down upon the coffee table in front of them. “THAT JUST MAKES ME AND BRO-BRO SPECIAL. SUCK THAT, YA DEAD LOOKIN’ BASTARD!”
“Daddy, that’s not very nice...” Dot scolded gently, turning to look over at Sergei. He wasn’t signing anymore. But his face certainly didn’t look too bothered. He was regarding Bennett the exact way Benedict or Luvon would -- almost with boredom and he’d let Bennett throw his fit, to let him do all the work of making himself look ridiculous, and getting mad all by himself.
And Bennett caught on.
“GODDAMN IT, THEY DO GET ALONG STUPIDLY WELL!” He threw his hands up, standing. Not as a means to throw a punch at Sergei but he was starting to walk out.
“Where are you going?!” Dot laughed.
“I’M NOT TAKING LESSONS FROM LUVON!” Bennett huffed and growled over his shoulder, “I’M GOING TO FIND YOUR GODDAMN APES AND HAVE THEM TEACH ME!”
“Makes sense he would understand an ape better than any of us.”
“DON’T TELL ME WHAT HE SAID!” Bennett shouted, noting that Sergei had been signing again. He paused before he reached the door, pointing at the both of them. “I’m going to learn my own damn self and then kick his ass for talking shit! BECAUSE I KNOW HE’S TALKIN’ SHIT!”
Dot was laughing into her hands, trying her best to compose herself but the image of Bennett sitting in the middle of all that misty jungle, shirt off, trying to learn sign language with the giant apes was something that kept popping in her head. “Daddy, please, come back.”
“I’M ON A MISSION, BABYGIRL!” Bennett shouted, shutting the door behind him. “I”LL COME BACK WHEN I’M READY!” came his muffled reply before his stomping boots faded down the hall.
“I could have taught you myself!” Dot shouted but Bennett was out of earshot and she knew this because his ass would have come running back, sounding like a rhino. Finally settled back in her seat, she turned to Sergei with a hand lifted towards the door. “Look at what you did.”
Sergei turned her face her again from that uninterested gaze he had kept on Bennett to a softened expression only reserved for Dot. The corner of his scarred lip was faintly tugged upwards in a ghost of a smirk. He didn’t say anything after that but the look on his face said it for him.
He was entirely proud of running Bennett away to spend the rest of this quiet time with Dot where he can finally put his hands to good use on something, no, someone else.
And Dot realized this way too late as he scooped her up.

SAMANTHA CALLAGHAN’S CAMPAIGN
Encouraging people to look at the local stores around them before purchasing online or from big chain stores
Look local is a campaign promoting people to shop locally to support their community.
Supporting local businesses
Many businesses have suffered after the coronavirus and lockdown, especially small businesses. My family own a small business in a town so I have seen the effects of this. I’m from a small community and we are close with many of the businesses around us so I also know about a few considering to close, people struggling to pay their employees as well as many having to let go of some of their employees.  It’s hard to tell when a business is struggling from an outsiders view as they don’t see the struggles and what’s going on behind the scene. What I wanted to do for my campaign is to spread awareness on this and encourage people to support and try and shop locally, which I think will help communities get through this tough time, especially small businesses from smaller towns and cities. Online shopping has become so easy nowadays and many people tend to buy online before having a look at what’s around them.
As I work for my parents and help out with the store, shopping locally is something that we have been encouraging people to do. Our community in Cambridge have decided to use a hashtag to help spread and promote this idea. The hashtag that many of our stores in Cambridge use is #TotallyLocallyCambridge.
Benefits of Supporting local businesses:
-       Helping to keeping local businesses open
-       You’re supporting your friends and neighbors.
-       Providing people with jobs/allowing people to keep their jobs.
-       Local businesses are the backbone of our communities, supporting them will help with holding the community together.
-       Keeps the economy flowing around locally.
Research:
I want to interview my parents about how this experience has affected them.

Link also has a video of Jacinda talking about supporting local businesses.
There are resounding economic benefits of spending locally, of keeping the money in the local economy, of creating a resilient marketplace, of building a self-sufficient town, of creating local jobs, of supporting a local business that can then support a local charity, event and sports team, and so the value of the money merry-go-round goes on to support your community.
It is local business that will provide the backbone to supporting and recreating our vibrant communities. These local businesses will allow us to interact, shop and be with friends and strangers. This physical presence cannot be created or replicated online. These local bricks and mortar businesses will be where we go from being socially isolated to being socially appreciative.
We need to support these businesses that create our social fabric, to help keep them trading and to ensure their survival, as these are the businesses that contribute to the individuality of our CBD and the economy of our city.
These are the businesses that are run by our families, our friends and our neighbours, who will reinvest into other businesses the money that we spend in theirs. They will be paying employees wages that enable them to provide for their families, supplier costs and commercial rents that all impact on the economic footprint of the region.
Not only that, these are the businesses that are the front door to our streetscape. They provide the window displays, the retail offerings, the welcoming face and the personality to our central city streets.
It is our small to medium businesses that are our nations top employers and we need to support them to keep operating in order to keep our local economies going. But we also need them for the social relationships they enable. They are the places that allow us to gather, to see our colleagues, friends and family.
They are the businesses that build special and personal relationships with us by delivering us a personalised level of customer service. They are the businesses we want to shape our vibrant city and provide us with a safe haven of human connection, so make a conscious effort to support local, not just for a month or so, but forever.
My thoughts:
I think that this article fits in well with my campaign. I agree with them  saying that our local businesses are the back bones of our communities, because they are. Without them, our towns wouldnt have the livleyhood or the welcomness feels to them, the local shops creates the mood and vibrant feel to the whole community.
Another thing that they said that i would like to point out is the fact that supporting our local communities isn’t something that we should do for a month, but its something that we should be doing for the rest of our lives. And not too long after a grow in support, I beleive that we will start to see some great changes and growths in our communities that will continue to flourish

The symbiotic relationship between small business and community is an important one: both need each other to survive, and each needs to care for the other for mutual benefit.
While I love the vibrant richness of our city CBDs, there is something so very Kiwi and beautifully unique about our small towns that can never be replicated in an urban shopping complex.
Many businesses that inhabit our small, rural communities are locally owned, boutique stores that offer the perfect antidote to the faceless internet marketplace or the sterile chain stores that can be found, with cookie cutter predictability, in the suburbia of our larger city shopping malls.
Reasons to Support stores in NZ article

http://retail.kiwi/advocacy/shoplocal
Assurance if anything goes wrong - the Consumer Guarantees Act ensures that goods and services meet certain standards and set out remedies from retailers and manufacturers if they don't. When buying from offshore websites, customers don't have such assurances.
Getting what we paid for - the Fair Trading Act means that Kiwi shoppers buying from local stores have accurate information about what they're buying and that goods meet safety standards. No dodgy fakes or rip-offs here. And if there is a problem, consumers can make a complaint to the Commerce Commission.
Making sure we get the goods when we need them - no waiting indefinitely for parcels to arrive from the other side of the world.
What if you change your mind? When shopping locally many retailers will allow customers to change their minds and return goods within a certain period if they are in the original condition. Offshore retailers may not do the same, and if they do, shipping costs generally must be met by the consumer.
Face-to-face customer service - from in-store product experts.
But most importantly - #ShopLocal is about supporting our local communities.

Ways you can help your community after Covid-19

10 Ways small businesses benefit the local community
Feb 14, 2020.

https://www.shopkeep.com/blog/10-ways-small-businesses-benefit-the-local-community#step-1
Community Involvement
Small business owners are an important part of the communities in which they live and work. Thus, they tend to recognize how their decisions impact their neighbors. In addition, local small business entrepreneurs tend to be involved in the community. For instance, they may sponsor local Little League teams, donate to the city’s homeless shelter, join the chamber of commerce, participate in community charity events, or contribute to a local non-profit organization. It’s also not unheard of for successful business owners to guest lecture at the local community college, technical institute, or small business center.
Community Health
In addition to contributing to the local community’s unique identity and being involved locally, small business owners help to build a sense of community. Small business owners are more likely to build personal relationships with their customers, knowing many of them by name. When was the last time you walked into a large chain store and were greeted by name?
Many small business owners band together, forming casual or formal relationships, such as a merchant’s association or mentoring. These relationships leverage the expertise of the participants to contribute to the business community’s long-term growth. They are also often a key tool for fostering camaraderie between business owners, so that as foot traffic to one business increases, other nearby smaller businesses benefit through increased exposure and word-of-mouth referrals.
Environmental Benefits
Pedestrian-friendly town centers have their own unique vibe — and demonstrable environmental benefits. For example, small businesses clustered near residential areas may reduce automobile use and traffic congestion, resulting in better air quality and less urban sprawl.
In a research report by the United States Environmental Protection Agency they refer to compact, walkable downtown centers as smart growth places, noting “that business that locate in smart growth places can help protect environmental resources—for example, by reducing air pollution from vehicles by encouraging walking, bicycling, or taking transit; building more compactly to protect ecologically sensitive land; or incorporating natural ways of collecting and filtering stormwater runoff.”
Increasing the Tax Base
When local residents shop at small businesses within their communities, their tax dollars stay within the local economy, helping to improve their community as a result. Likewise, local small businesses tend to buy locally as well, pumping more of the profits from their economic activity back into the community than their chain store counterparts, sparking economic development.
Local Jobs
Small businesses are job creators, and most of those jobs are local jobs. Rather than having to commute to another city, employees work closer to home. Supporting local businesses also helps your fellow community members who work at them. When a community has a vibrant commercial center, it also creates ample opportunities for these workers to shop at other local small businesses. They grab lunch or dinner from local restaurants, run errands on their break, and grab drinks from local bars. This keeps money local and further creates a tight-knit community vibe.
7. Entrepreneurship
Small businesses are the product of the business owner’s entrepreneurial spirit. By starting a small business, the business owner is taking charge of his or her future. Entrepreneurship fuels America’s economic innovation and prosperity and serves as a key means for families to move out of low-wage jobs and into the middle class.
As an effort to further invest in local job creation, some communities have gone so far as to create a small business development center that teaches entrepreneurial skills to the local population. There may even be special arrangements with a community bank set up to provide would-be entrepreneurs with a small business loan to get their operation up and running. The goal with all of these initiatives is to inspire entrepreneurship and encourage continued small business development in the local community.
Innovation and Competition
Small businesses need to stand out from the crowd in order to survive. They must serve a legitimate need in the community and do it better than their competitors. Having multiple small businesses all striving to be unique, innovative, and better can result in a healthy marketplace and well-served customers.
9. Less Infrastructure and Low Maintenance
Compared to shopping malls and chain stores, local shops tend to require fewer public services and less infrastructure. While a new music store owner may require a business license and occupancy permit, the process of opening a shop is much less demanding on the city planning department than building a new department store would be.
Diverse, Locally Made Products and Services
One-of-a-kind and locally made products can attract customers to a community, bolstering tourism and contributing to the local vibe. Locally made goods are also attractive to residents who want to minimize their carbon footprints, support local businesses, and keep their tax dollars close to home.
These are just a few examples that describe the importance of small businesses to our local communities. Supporting small businesses isn’t just about shopping on Small Business Saturday. These establishments benefit our local economy, personal relationships and help build the community. So next time you’re considering heading to a large chain store, remember local matters.

Cheaper isnt always better
I have been around the world of digital graphics for over 20 years. I have been on every side of the fence there could possibly be. I have run my own business twice now. Second time crashed and burned and believe me it wasnt pretty. But I learned. I sold equipment for many years for the graphics industry and I learned a LOT. I met so many great people. So many tremendous influences. Now, I am an executive with a company called Main Attractions, a special event contractor and graphics company.
In my current role, I am back to selling digital graphics on both a large and small scale. I love my job. Its a second chance at greatness. I get to interact with all kinds of customers and companies throughout the tri state area. Wouldnt trade it for anything in the world.
One thing that remains a constant in our world, is that there will always be those who dont see a value in what we do. They look at it as something they could do so easily but “dont have the time” so they are contracting us. Which then leads them to trying to bring down our prices and our value yet still expecting the top quality.
I first hand, have learned that cheaper isnt always better. We all try to save money. Its only natural. However, saving money doesnt always mean cutting the price. I worked with a lot of “cheap vendors” when running my business. In the end it led to cheap work, long delays and worse. However, when it is my name on the door, I have no one to blame but myself. I lost more than I made and I learned many hard lessons along the way.
Sometimes people just want to feel like they are getting the best deal out there. But what REALLY is the BEST deal? Is it price alone? We are conditioned to believe that any company who cannot produce the best quality in the fastest time with the lowest price is the best. However, getting all 3 of those in the same purchase is a rare find and not often reasonable. Even more so, when someone can’t deliver those 3 things on even ONE occasion, they are subject to negative feedback and reviews, but that a tale for a different day.
Pricing is important but consumers often neglect the fact that businesses price their products based off structures and systems they have in place to help them produce quality products in a timely manner to keep their business running smoothly. I have seen customers take an estimate for $3500 and without even reading it, cross it out and write $2500 knocking about a 1/3 off the price. They get the idea in their head that this is a “fair price” for the company to charge. More so, this is based off nothing more than crossing the number out. Not even realizing or caring that they just took away any profit in this deal let alone probably putting a company in a position to take a loss on the job. I am all for negotiating but thats not what that is. That is just immature.
Keep in mind the old expression Quality over Quantity. We justify the impulse to buy 5-6 of a cheaper item as opposed to buying one item that may be a little more expensive but can get the job done right more effectively and last longer. Dont think so? Simplest example: Shaving razors. Think about it.
The point here is this. If you want a job done right, choose quality over price. Everytime. Most will think it’s some ploy to make our company more money. Well, while yes, we are in this business to make money, it is also about reputation. Trust me I understand that better than anyone. Learn to work closely with the company you are doing business with. Understand that their pricing is what it is for are reason. Rather than search out on Google for a way to make it cheaper, suggest a meeting or conversation to discuss the project more thoroughly and work together to get to where you need to be while maintaining a good price structure.
Business is a two way street. It is not about winning or losing. You may think it is but in the end, getting the “best price” and playing the “what’s my price” game will not get you the best quality. It will only give the mentally of “well at least it was cheap” when you have to justify why it collapsed after a short time.
Be smart. Do Good Business. Work Together. Cheaper isnt always better.

“ honestly i dont know what to do anymore i miss u so fucking much its honestly wild but i cant tell u that now can i ? your happy with him he makes you smile i dont know how deeply that thrives in you but it seems special to you so ive been accepting of it cause you may be my ex but you where my best friend first so my first thought has been to make sure your happy haha and ik you want me to be happy to and well im trying hah it isnt working but i am trying for you ya dork haha but well ya let me get on with what im saying is i felt like i was loosing my mind before i met u i had no drive to do anything at all till you came along and when u did god damn did u hit me like a fucking mac truck beautiful funny relaxing charming ( yes girls can be charming ) smart trust me i could go on for hours but to put in simply you where well like me in a way u understood me and i understood u in a sense but in a more proper sense i didnt understand a damn thing about u and maybe thats what brought me to u you where a fantastic puzzle of a person this shell of faked joy and excitement to cover up a more delicate inside that had been hurt one too many times  and i could tell u just wanted a friend someone that wouldnt leave no matter what which from what i had gathered in a short time had been promised to you and broken way too much so i told my self “ john your gonna be her friend no matter what the cost “ and years went by of me helping u and you helping me and sure we had our rough spots im not gonna lie but we got threw it together and in that time well i grew to well i guess youd call it love you and in that moment i relized that ive been going threw this relationship thinking you needed me that u depended on me which may be true im still not sure but well im trying to say i needed you and need you maybe even more then u do me haha youve done more for me then i think u could ever happen to understand
and well ya lets flash forward to about a year and ahalf ago when i felt like the luckiest guy in the entire world thanks to u haha cause i finally gained the confidence to ask the girl i had been crushing over out and surprisingly you said yes ! then proceeded the most interesting 10 months of my life haha also probably some of the happiest cause whether you believe it or not you where the damn best girlfriend i ever did have haha and then well we broke up and well im not gonna lie even though it was for good reasons i sorta felt something inside me creak and snap a very serious internal conflict if u will . cause on one hand u wanted to better your self which im perfectly okay with but on the other hand well we broke up haha and i had no idea how to handle that like at all so l sorta lost it for a bit there alot of anxeity and panick attacks and nights alone crying but then things started looking up honestly it seemed like we might get back together and i was honestly excited shit haha we basically did for a little while and well during the brief time of your little fling i guess youd call it you showed me another part of my self a more confident part of my self that well genuinely ment to protect you but well dominate u at the same time which was a very interesting feeling to have this innocent person give her self to me and to be responsible for her happiness and health and well being and during that time to me you where everything i never knew i needed or wanted i wouldn't trade that experience for the world i swear on that much cause we might be separate but your still my angel and u always will be i promise did u know i refuse to call “her “ angel ? well ya i wont do it its the one name i wont use cause well its yours haha the single name u liked me calling you besides your own name and u best believe i abused the shit out of it  but anyway back on track then that ended you and him got together .. which well it hurt alot like a fuck ton i didn't really know how to react so i just tried to revert back to my original function be happy cause your happy and well it just isnt working anymore so i dont know im just sorta trying anything at this point cause ik you dont like seeing me upset especially when it has something to do with you
so i got a girl friend and i fucking hate it so much haha and if you think this is some thing im trying to to take u from him or something isnt haha you know i wont interfere with your relationship well guess what all of this brings me to what i was actually thinking about
am i stupid or in love or maybe just stupidly in love
? is there a future for us ? cause you only ever tell me maybe haha ?
is .. is he better then me ?
 im sorry for hurting u

BROTHER SAMSON & SISTER DEBBIE’S STORY CONTINUES
Sister Debbie writes on "what are your advices?" 2nd May 2012 As my spiritual son and his fianceé, Miss Shield drove off, I took "mai" lord's hand and arm-in-arm we are heading towards the main entrance of the fast food auditorium as we approached d door, d security @ d door opened d door for us and we walked in talking about his spiritual son."He is such a nice person", I said."Oh, Yea! That is him 4 u...He is a lively person to be with", "mai" lord said."Oh Yea! I can see dat u were much engrossed in your conversation with him", I said"You know it is getting close to a decade dat we parted. When we were 2geda he was such a nice person to me...he followed me everywia,...to d wilderness of prayers...valleys of prayers...mountains of prayers...he is my very good companion those days...when he wanted to leave, the only thing i did not do was crying, bc I knew I will miss his companionship greatly..." Broda Samson said."Uhm Uhm", I said...by now we have moved close to the counter where we will get the foods we have paid for...we bought tandoori, pies, and drinks...as we walked back to a corner designed for lovers...there is another private corner within the premises of the Fast Food Complex...there instant photographers there to put Lovers, and other people who may wish to remember, relive the events experienced at the complex days...years afterwards...so we went to this Lovers corner...there are about two love birds there also enjoying themselves...we also got for ourselves a place...sat down...to relax ourselves...after some days of separation...as he continued 2 talk abt his spiritual son..."I missed him greatly you know, bc he usually assist me when I was just starting my business...he will help me to market some of my goods...Wash some of my clothes and ironed them...go 2 d market to get me soup ingredients...cooked it...at some other times he will sleep @ my house...So, all these activities readily came to my mind when he left...""Unfortunately, I have not come into your life then" Debbie interjected."Oh Yeah! Quite unfortunate. Had I even known you then? Maybe, maybe not", He said."But, I have known you before that time," I said, as I put a meat in my mouth.""Eegun mọni ni, eniyan ni ko mọ eegun"" as he grasped my hand from taking anoda meat to my mouth..."you are even not a good lover"...and he signalled that I shoudl put the meat in his mouth as a sign of love..."Eyin o tile mo wipe e ti ndagba, awa omode loye ki a ma je eran", I said."Are u also believing what those "eyibos" are saying? How many of us ate meat when we were babies, when we were children? Few if there are...this is because, our parents will say, meats are for our parents, but not for children...so leave acedemic researches that is centered for the developed world for the developed world and let us live our life here, and live it to the best within our confines", he said..as he poured the drink into a wine cup...and put the cup into my mouth and said, "...gulp down the juice of love darling..."...I also did di same to him, as he continued his saying after gulping down the juice..."many people know me, but I do not know them then and even till now, some get annoyed when I do not greet them "specially", as such they usually call me to order, telling me where they know me from...and after hearing that, I usually apoligise and re-greet them, attaching some "speciality" to such greetings", he said."You have not greet me specially oh...that is partiality", I said."How special do you want my greetings to you to be again?" he inquired."As special as special can be now...even more than theirs", I said."I have been doing that all along and I will continue to do that", he said."Hun-hun-hun, (shaking my head like a baby) you have not been doing so, you need to start now", i said."Alright." He stood up from where he was, come to my side, embraced me...okay..."how is my parents, my lecturers, my friends...oh, how are the brethren?..."I was by now laughing...pat him by his side..."a ti gbọ sa, gbogbo wa wa lalafia ara"...I said"okay. Good. That is a tips of the iceberg of the greetings...more later", he said."Ẹ se sire! But honestly speaking, many people wouldnt know you considering the number of people you address weekly then, however some may have exchanged some greetings with you once, maybe after d programme and such people may think you have known dem, maybe dat is why dey think you are deliberately ignoring them" I said.said"That is it...That is what I also guessed is happening...but whenever anyone greets me after a programme and I answered, I immediately forget afterwards, how many faces will I commit to my memory? That is why it is not good to presume dat some people deliberately ignored you, sometimes those people may fix their gaze in d direction of d person, but d person may not be seeing d person not bc he is blind but bc the person's mind is elsewhere", he said. "That is true..."I said "That is why one may call d person & greet d person if one sees dat d person ought 2 greet one but d person does not, one should not assume dat d person ought to have seen u as such ought to greet", he said. "Many people have been embittered by dis, many have nursed ill feelings, ill thoughts to d oda person bc of dis which shdnt be", I said. "Yes, such shdnt be. I read an article & d man said, doing un2 odas wat one wants odas 2 do unto him/her includes one calling d person whom one thinks ought to greet 1st & bell the cat by being the 1st person to greet the person", he said. I nodded my head in support of what he said, "it is a good summation", I said. "My love, you have insisted we come here...which we have done, but you are yet 2 tell me what we are "washing"" Broda Samson said...I did not answer him immed8ly, as i kept on looking @ his face.."why are you looking at me like dat?" He asked. "I am appreciating God for sparing you, giving you me, that is why I am looking at you", I replied. "Oh thank God for that..but that has not answered my 1st question, whats up? What is d good news all about? Have you been promoted? Have you seen some of your results?" he inquired. "Nope. None of the above", I said. "Then wat is the goodnews about? A change of job to a beta one? Or have you received reply from baba @ home giving a nod to our relationship?" He asked. "Nope. It is none of what you guessed. But, I know Baba has no other option other than yielding to what I said in the leta. He is a simple man, he just want to be sure I am in safe hands thats all", I said. "Okay wat is it? I dont think I can guess again" He said, as he took my fingers and was playing with them,,."your nails are even dirty, d lecturers ought to be checking the nails of students these days", he said. "Itumo? Se a wa wa ni kindergaten (KG) ni tabi "primary school"?" I said. "Ki wa niyato eleyi ti e wa ati alakobere bayi?" He said. "E o mo iyato tabi? Ma gba ìka mi kuro lowo yin o", I said. ""Emi o ti mo iyato o" bc d nails of KG pupils are usually cleaner..but yours are dirty...Later, ti e ba bimọ, kini e fe ma so fun awon omo nyin ti eekanna won ko ba mọ?" He asked. "Eyin na laba nibe"" she said. "Lona wo o? Gbogbo enia e gba mi o", he said Smile..."" Awon wo ni yio gba nyin"? Where are they? Who dare come and un-nest this lover's birds nest dat we are in? Bi won ba ntan yin e ma tan ara nyin ko si enito le gba nyin kuro lowo mi nibiyi o...mo ti gbe nyin wa sibi oju olomo ko to o" i said. "I thank God my spiritual son knows I am here", he said. "Yes. He knows you are in the right hands"... "And whose hands, if I may ask? Interjectingly asking. "My hands ofcourse, he has sanctioned our being here together", I said smiling. "Then I will appeal to other authorities that I have been kidnapped..." "By?" i interjected. "By a beauty personified...by a star from a special planet...by "eyin-fun ju owo", by "ẹleyinju ege", by "ibadi aran", by spotless faced lady, by..." "Uhm! I think I shd be recording some of your words, it will make a good sales", I said "You want to add business to salary to academics "ni"? Jack of all trade mama", he said. "It is money we want...whatever legal means of getting it is acceptable globally", I said. "Kama fi oro sile soro", I hope u have not prepared anything for me @ home?" he asked. "Why do u ask?" I asked. "I asked bc of these dirty fingernails "ni", bc I wont eat it lest I eat micro-organisms and become infected", he said. "That will be good. We will give it to animals...but, before you talk further my nails got dirty as a result of the cleaning i did @ home", I said. "Has The cleaning said you should not trim your fingernails?" "Okay. "Se ibi ti ẹ nba ọrọ lọ niyẹn"?" I said. ""Ibẹ ni o"" He said. "Nigbati e o fi owo ti a o fi ra abefele ranse na ni a o fi ge ekana wa", I said. ""Laduru gbogbo owo ti a fi nranse yen""? "Photocopies, Lamination, printings, typesettings "ni gbogbo re ba lọ", I said. "Haa! Debbie mi! Wo epo lenu rẹ", he said. "There is no oil on my lips...", i stylishly took my handkerchief to clean my lips.. "No one sees the lips of liars bleeding", he said. "Well, I am not lying. I am just telling you dat my allocation needed to be increased”, I said said"Your prayers on me is not enof "na ni" bc d Gross Personnal Profit(GPP) is yet to be increased", he said "GPP yin ma increase "loruko Jesu"" we said "Amin" together. "Eyin na e je ki adura wa o gba lori yino.."I concluded. "" Iya aladura, adura yin ko ni ni idena lori wa o...so, what are we celebrating here?" he asked again. "You mean to tell me dat nothing crosses your mind as we are here sitted?" I asked. "Nope love. Nothing that I can think of", he said. "You did not remember any past thing that brought you here..", I asked again. "Sincerely, I do not...what do you think or know?" He asked. "Okay. "Mai" lordship sire. What happened to you when you were 44 years old that brought you here?" I asked "That should be few weeks before you came into my life... "Eh", I said interuptingly. ""Pause" me to think it out" "Se" you "don" become DVD player "ni"? I asked "Okay. Have you laid your hand on one of my diaries?" he asked. "Hun-hun", I said. ""O tile" serious. That one belongs to the past and it should be treated as such", he said "But what happened, something must have led you to its documentation", I said. "I wouldnt be too sure if there is any specific occurence that day, but generally speaking, anyone that is undergoing some trials do have a time when the thought of such things shall grip the person's heart beyond measure.. "Ehn-Ehn?" I said surprisingly. "Yes..and I think that was what happened that day, the thought of loneliness, going lonely all these years gripped my heart beyond measure that day to the extent of shedding tears...and after I cleaned my eyes, I decided to come here and relax...taking my heart off the issue generally..." "But can there be stimulus to such occurences?" I asked. "Yes, stimuli usually come via people's utterances...somtimes they may mock the person, sometimes they say it unintentionally, sometimes it is due to the manner of presentation by some other people which wil make the person undergoing the trial to think they are deriding him and thus it will pain the person...and depending on the person's threshold to issues, the person may weep or cry...lose appetite..become unsettled...lose focus etc", he said. "So, when such happens, what do you suggest such a person do?" I asked. "To such a one, I will advice she or he leave the spot...move to another spot where she or he will think less of such incident...try as best as she or he can to eat good food", he said. "Okay", I said. "Is this why you have brought us here?" He asked. "Not really..I just want to tell you that I am here for you forever and that there is no loneliness for you and I again till death do us part... May 3rd write upAfter leaving him, my fiancé, bro Samson, I became morbidly restless on my student bed, as I turned left, I think of him, when I tried 2 sit, I think of him, wat could have been d matter? I left him few hours ago...I could neither do anything substantial nor close my eyes in sleep...so I decide 2 come off d bed n sit down 2 pen down something 4 him...Here is what i wrote:When my heart was failing, I couldnt think straight, Just then some1 entered,The entrance of the person, Into d room I was, Illumine d room,The illumination, drives off darkness, And I could see, though dimly, Everything in d roomThings in d room, Yea, in my immediate n distant vicinity, Were afore unseen by meAs I withing me thank God, And my stars For d illuminer, Then, I also speak 2 God in my mind,What I uttered in my mind, Was not a mono-traffic, as I abinitio thought, Because d person actually comes to where I wasThe touch of d person brings me relief, The odour of his body is like a Nasal decongestant As my breathing returns to normal, The shadow of his presence wipes away Perspiration all over me The over-bearing burden on me, Becomes lighten by the Person's smile The Person's word is not a tingling to my ear, As it sets vibrating d oscicles n labrythyn of my ear, which orientate my disorientations As I began 2 wonder, Then a finger touched my lips, And yet some other fingers were on my foreheadWords that followed were those of love, Such wordings that I have ever longed for, Wordings that I have ever prayed for, Wordings that I have ever hoped for-Igniting words of love. As if by permutations and combinations, The subsequent followings are, Nostrils to nostrils; Breath to Breath, Mouth to mouth... The dying heart has been given a drug, Acetycholine has been infused into d cardiac muscles, Rescurcitation has occured, The collapsing mind is deeply subsumed, In the oceans of care, affection, warmth and Love, The pulse of the mind is nay collapsing anylonger The failing heart fled, The dimmy eyes become lightened, I became well again... Oh, bro Samson my love, Since, I opened the door of my life 4 your entrance, I have always been envied by all What can I do for you my love? What can I give my love? How can I express my love 2 you?
