Andrzej Sapkowski: "Personally, I like the Netflix series a lot"
youtube
Minute 8:13-8:17 ("persönlich da habe ich die Netflix Serie sehr gern")
He also says something about the Slavic influence: "When you say that in the Geralt Saga many things and matters are inspired by Slavic mythology, that's true, but not only, not only." (He really emphasises this!) (3:12-3:30)
When he is asked if he was influenced by Tolkien, he says yes, that he is a specialist at fantasy and has read everything and that his goal was to avoid all the cliche/sterotypes that you find in fantasy and to find his own way. ("Mein Ziel war, alle Klischees die im Fantasy sind, zu vermeiden, also finden meinen eigenen Weg." (6:39-6:55)
So, all in all, Netflix not just copying the exclusively white elves from Tolkien's world seems to be compliant with the author of the Witcher books's ideas. Maybe there could have been more Slavic elements, but that the Witcher is pretty much exclusively inspired by Slavic mythology like some people claim on social media is not true, according to the author (he especially mentions the Brothers Grimm as influences, for example). And that every fan of the books must automatically hate the show is definitely bullshit, if even the author himself likes it.
Take that, haters 😉

People in this fandom will really look at The Fool, Patience, Lacey, Carson, Sedric, Hest, Davvie, Lecter, Kennit, Ash/Spark, and yes, even Fitz himself, and still have the gall to call it queer bait.
These characters are explicitly queer, their actions impact the narrative, they are well written, and their identities are treated with respect. That is the best possible queer representation you could ask for in any story.
I've seen people on tumblr basing the likelihood of if they read this series on whether or not it's "actually gay" and I'm here to tell you that it is. There are queer characters. There are queer protagonists. And no matter what you see people in the fandom say, Robin Hobb wrote some amazing queer representation in a genre that rarely sees it at all.
EDIT: and I think it's pertinent to note that, no, characters who are questioning or struggling with their feelings about sexuality instead of knowing 100% does not make something queer bait or "less gay"
TLDR;
Queer bait = disrespectful marketing ploy that exploits queer audiences
Queer bait ≠ "my two favorite characters never have sex"

Quote from Rainbow Rowell's Vanity Fair interview
Bold text is the interviewer*
RAINBOW: "I had a really rough time as a kid, so with Simon I'm always looking at how does that affect your ability to be an adult? When you grow up in an unhealthy place, can you expect yourself to be unhealthy in your adult relationships? If you've been kind of in fight or flight mode for so long. Simon is literally fight or flight.
INTERVIEWER: my god you literally gave him wings.
RAINBOW: All he wants to do is kill something or run from it. Now he has to have a relationship where he can neither kill nor run. What I was kind of trying to get to the truth of is you develop this auto-immune disorder against being hurt. You know how auto-immune disorders work where your body attacks anything it sees as a threat. It can be your own immune system that it's reacting against. You can emotionally get that way when you've been traumatized or when you've been through hard things. Anyone gets close to you, like someone coming to hug, and you have this feeling of get away from me. I can't handle it.
So I think that's where Simon is. I just really wanted to see him try to work through that. He is having so much trouble being present with Baz. And as bad as Baz’s life has been, he has really been loved. He's better able to receive and offer love because he's had that in his life. Simon really hasn't so we just see him panic. I wanted to stay with him during those hard moments. When he wants to run. "
Heres the link to the full interview, It's really great:
I also recommend Rainbow's playlist analysis on her website its fantastic

4. Plush With The Best Name
Tumblr media
This was a hard one, but I think I’d have to award this one to Wee Hen!
Warrior Cats is one of my oldest special interests, and the name “Wee Hen” always stood out to me—even though she was a loner who never actually appeared in a book! And since she’s a Little (Wee) Henry Hound, it felt like a brilliant name for her :)

"Melton author Louise Doughty believed there was “no way” her supernatural thriller would be adapted for TV, but she’s delighted to be proved wrong. Platform 7 is her latest work to hit screens and is set to provide many twists and turns.
"That's where the idea came from: a railway station as a metaphor for purgatory.”.....
Others have deeper emotional bonds to stations and she was keen to show it. That deeper bond is explored by Lisa(Jasmine Jobson) herself who after witnessing the trauma at Platform 7 sees her former lover Matty(Toby Regbo) and her parents come to lay flowers at the scene of her death. Being more than simply just a ghostly witness, she finds she is able to follow them beyond the station and begin to unpick the truth about her demise."

This has nothing to do with wmmap but how did you find Spoon's Youtube channel? I have tried to find the Youtube channel of other artists such as a stepmother's marchen or how to get my husband on my side and I cannot find it, I have even searched for it with its Korean name and I have checked all its social networks (Instagram and twitter ) and I couldn't find anything at all, but you managed to find Spoon's, How did you do that?
Hello Anon! Oh, well, maybe not all of them have YouTube channels in the first place? I think most manhwa artists tend to be private people.
How did I find Spoon's channel... It was such a long time ago that I really can't remember. I guess I either saw it linked on the WMMAP Wiki or @lithi (hi <3) posted about it.
Now, I don't follow other manhwa artists as closely as Spoon, but I remember seeing SAM (Your Throne) doing a video interview, and SUOL (Penelope manhwa) did a Twitch stream. Perhaps the artists you are interested in have done promotional videos like those, even if they don't have a YouTube channel of their own. Those are usually on the YouTube channels of their publishing houses or the korean platforms for their manhwas. But again, it's not the norm for all artists to have a channel, most of them are pretty private (smart decision, to be honest).
