Underrated Haikyuu Teams on a Road Trip

Tsubakihara: All of them, closeted or not, are swifties. They blast Taylor Swift most of ride and scream the lyrics. At some point, Maruyama and Teradomari start arguing about Star Wars or Star Trek being the better franchise, but nobody listens. Kakugawa: Everyone gets hungry 10 minutes into the drive, and Komaki, the one in the driver's seat, is screaming at Asamushi for spilling Miso Soup in his car, while also screaming at other drivers because his road rage is bad when he's stressed. Ohgiminami: Oyasu and Towada are arguing over shotgun when Towada obviously called it, Akimiya's stressing out because he's driving while trying to keep things from going to hell in his car, Tazawa and Moritake are brawling over the aux cord, Natsuse is ugly crying for some unknown reason, Yokote started some beef with a trucker in another lane and is trying to jump out of the window, and Karamatsu is holding him back. Shinzen: Ōtaki decides to drive because she knows good and well that they'd end up in a ditch if she didn't, Ogano spots Ubugawa out the window and is screaming at Gōra from across the road, Shimafu is trying to pull Ogano away from the window, Naguri is screaming at Kodama for no reason, Kodama is crying because he doesn't like being yelled at, Chigaya is calling his boyfriend, who's team is screaming to Taylor Swift, and Akatani and Yoshikawa are controlling the aux cord and playing the Arctic Monkey's Humbug album, which Naguri is also screaming about. Ubugawa: Gōra nearly rear-ends a car in front of them while screaming at Ogano from across the road, Miyanoshita is climbing over everyone to wave at Ōtaki, Yukawa and Nanasawa are playing Nicki Minaj on the aux, Nakagawa is trying to calm Gōra down from the back seat, Ashiya and Isehara are sharing snacks, and Sengoku is listening to calming music through his headphones and ignoring everyone. Wakutani: Matsushima, who just got his driver's liscense, has taken the wheel and is freaking out, Hanayama is being a backseat driver, Nakashima is trying to keep Kawatabi from playing shitty rap on the aux, Naruko is badgering Nakashima about stopping to eat, Shiroishi is getting car sick and about to vomit all over Hanayama's new clothes, and Akiu is sleeping through the yelling and reckless driving.

Haikyuu Band AU: Additional Hiakyuu Boys

AU where all the Haikyuu dorks go to the same high school and are in the Concernt + Marching Band together. 

Sakusa (Itachiyama) - Percussion, Snare/Pit (Marching)

Forced to join with Komori

Was very grossed out when the trumpet leaked on him when he tried it and swore off wind instruments

He likes percussion instruments, the players on the other hand...

His wrists are bendy, very useful, 32nd notes, no problem and perfect playing playing posture/ergonomics

Teams up with Osamu in getting the band to eat healthier, it’s an on going battle

Helps Kita out a lot on cleaning up the band room together

For some reason Atsumu latches onto him like a leach and he can’t think of anything he did to deserve it

Komori (Itachiyama) - Percussion, Quads (Marching)

Joined a youth orchestra in elementary school cause he’s adventurous and was bored over summer

Learned how to play twinkle-twinkle on a xylophone and went ‘yup, this is my thing’

Is very flexible personality wise and gets along with everyone

Enjoys being on quads with Bokuto because it is never ever boring playing with him

One of the good kids who loves band, enjoys trips and competitions, keeps the positive energy flowing

Daishou Suguru - French Horn, Mellophone (Marching)

Actively sought out band after seeing a parade when a tiny-tike; the sounds were, well music to his ears

Gets into a youth orchestra and demands to be handed the hardest instrument to master

Postures a lot on being ‘I’m too good for band, they don’t deserve me’ when in actuality he is among the biggest band nerds of the band

He’s enrolled in the music history/theory classes, and composes his own music sometimes, and gets a part time job at a music store over summer breaks and volunteers to teach mini music lessons at day-cares

You talk shit to him about band don’t be surprised when he one ups you in your passion of choice

Kiryuu Wakatsu (Mujinazaka) - Percussion, Snare (Marching)

Was told to join band in middle school by his parents and was reluctant to do so, not because he didn’t want to do band but because it’s loud and noisy and messes with his anxiety

Joins percussion cause it’s in the back and you can only see him if you look really hard

People always think he’s part of the crazy scary band kids when in actuality he overthinks everything and under thinks himself

Gets to high school and it changes his perspective on band, life and himself because the environment is so friendly and supportive and fun and lively

He still frequently doubts himself but will eventually learn to silence the negative voice with the help of everyone else being so positive and supportive of him and his belief and confidence in his bandmates

Usuri Michiru (Mujinazaka) - Tenor Sax

Joins band in middle school because why the hell not and gets very attached to it very quickly

Jazz music is cool and he wants to do that so tenor sax was a no brainer

Likes to trash talk other bands before/after competitions with Daishou

Revels in the faces of despair and disappointment of the other bands when they learn his band beats them in any competitions (this is just how he shows his passion for the thing he loves)

Even though he has an ugly personality to those outside his band, to his own band members he is among the most supportive (he’s the one to most effectively get Kiryuu on his own side)

Joins Oikawa in playing jazz music at the mall and they have mini live jazz concerts with just the two of them (Iwazumi gives up at this point)

Himekawa Aoi (Tsubakihara Pinch Server) - Bassoon, Flute (Marching)

Super sweet  heart and so cute and adorable and seeing him walk around with the bassoon is mystifying

Is really good at playing but gets severe stage fright so most people think he’s terrible

Switched to flute for marching because joining the trombones was a bit too intimidating, sorry Nishinoya

Instant friendship with Shibayama and Inuoka during the whole band first year introduction circle, the three are the cutest together with their pure innocence

Part of the Calm Squad and another kid who all the old people give their money to during fundraisers

Chigaya Eikichi (Brocoli #2, Shinzen) - Clarinet/Bass Clarinet

Played around on his older siblings’ old recorder, and then joined a youth orchestra in elementary school on clarinet

Switched to bass clarinet in middle school and stuck with it in high school

Nobody believes him when he claims to have attended the same youth orchestra as Kageyama (including Kageyama until he went home and found a group picture of the youth orchestra with both of them in it)

Is the designated map holder and navigator when visiting amusement parks with the band, or at their performance location (he also has an innate sense of which way north is at all times, which helps, but if you know what time of day it is and where the sun is it isn’t hard to figure out)

Gets along well with Akagi and Riseiki in enjoying band by watching the others make active fools of themselves, it’s highly entertaining
