Lockwood and Co. Headcanons: Lockwood Edition
No spoilers until 2nd half of post
He has ADHD and dyslexia
He's in love with Lucy, but like also sometimes I think he could be asexual.
High pain tolerance to physical stuff (stab wounds, burns, electrical chair torture, etc.) but is absolutely a baby when it comes to colds. Has the worst man flu anyone's ever seen
Is kinda vain tbh. If he gets injured the first thing he wants to know is if it will leave a cool scar or not
He knows when people are flirting with him but acts like he is oblivious.
He idolizes his family more than anything. This includes his current family of Lucy and George
Doesn't really have any hobbies that are unghost or unbusiness related, which is not healthy! He used to listen to his parents' research a lot though, and through them he also took an interest in historical weapons. However, since their deaths, it's been too painful for him to pursue those interests.
Related to the no hobbies thing, he'll follow Lucy and George around like a lost puppy when he's bored. George will often tell him to get lost though if he's researching something, so he'll end up following Lucy around more often. He can be a bit of an annoying puppy too, often distracting her from her sketches to get a rise out of her
He cannot cook. Dear lord he cannot cook to save his life. He is banned from the kitchen.
He also claims to be a fully qualified doctor, but he is also terrible at first aid.
He can play a musical instrument of some kind, maybe even multiple. I could see him playing piano or violin. If he plays piano, it's because his parents forced him to take lessons when he was younger. He didn't enjoy the lessons at the time, but after they passed, he found music to be cathartic. He mainly plays classical, moody songs. When George moved in, he stopped playing because he wasn't quite ready to share that vulnerable side of himself yet. He would sneak and play when he was sure both of them were out of the house. Maybe after season 1/The Whispering Skull Lucy or George could coax him to play in front of them. Same sort of thing if he plays violin.
He tells corny dad jokes. I cannot tell you why, but I just know that he does.
He can be pretty moody sometimes and that's when he'll just disappear outside for a few hours. However, he knows he's got this kind of mysterious persona, so if he hasn't disappeared in a while he'll just do it for the aesthetic 💅
He knew George from school he attended when he was younger, but he wasn't friends with him and honestly found him a bit weird. He ran into George right as he was fired from Fittes though, and recognizing his talent (and also the skull he stole) decided to let him stash the skull at his house and offered him a job where he could ask as many questions as he wanted to.
He's around 6ft tall, but he's pretty skinny so he's more agile than strong really.
Lockwood's favorite time of day is sunrise. He often has trouble sleeping, and he also needs blackout curtains to block all of the death glows of London at night. So, sometimes, he watches the sunrise in the morning. Watching the death glows fade to pure light gives him hope, but he'd never tell anyone else something so sentimental.
His friends are the only thing keeping him alive at this point. His worst fear is them dying, and his second worst fear is them leaving him. He would do anything for them.
He needs so much therapy oh my god. More than anyone else in the series
Spoilers for the books below here!!!
From the books we know he knew Flo as a young agent. She was one of the agents he looked up to, especially after she beat him in that fencing competition, but he would never tell her that until it was too late and she'd become a relic woman. They became friends once they related about the losses in their life, and she taught him a few rapier tricks for a few bags or licorice.
He feels really bad for Flo, but understands that there are some things you just can't get over, so he supports her decision to be in an illegal profession even though he thought Relic men were the scum of the earth like Lucy did when he was younger. At one point she started turning to drugs and alcohol unhealthily, so he put his foot down and basically forced her to stop because she was the only person he had in the world at that point and he couldn't stand the thought of losing anyone else.
His parents were gone on research trips a lot, leaving him in the care of Jessica, but he was so young that he still loved them even if he didn't get to see them that much. Jessica resented them some for leaving her alone to take care of Lockwood instead of raising the both of them. She was kind of a sister/mother figure for him and he loved her more than anyone.
Jessica was sweet, but she also got up to a lot of teenagery stuff that Lockwood didn't know about, like drinking and weed and boyfriends. Kipps was one of said boyfriends, and was over a lot to be with Jessica. Lockwood idolized him and complimented him lots, which kind of gave Kipps some of his ego. After Jessica died, Lockwood resented Kipps for not being there and for abandoning him too, while Kipps resented Lockwood for not protecting her. Jessica had some Touch, which allowed her to sort their parents' stuff, but otherwise she had no Sight or Listening or agent training.
He and Jessica used to make flower crowns.
He has no plans for after he loses his talent because he's basically 100% sure he won't make it that far. That is, until he learns the truth behind his parents' deaths and realize that their death wasn't meaningless and that he can live his life to make sure it wasn't. (And also he has his found family to live for)
Lockwood and Holly get along pretty well in a platonic way. Holly is his only friend that appreciates the finer things in life like he does.
I wish we knew more about Gravedigger Skyes but he's literally like. Never expounded upon except that his real name is Nigel. There was so much potential there Stroud come on. Anyways Gravedigger Skyes was a family friend who was like a cool uncle to Lockwood, so when Jess died and he had nowhere left to go Skyes took the boy in. He tried to connect with Lockwood emotionally, but Lockwood just shut him out. So, he did the only thing that made the boy happy: he trained him to kill ghosts.
If we wanted to make Lockwood's backstory super tragic, maybe Gravedigger Skyes died while protecting Lockwood on a case. However, I think it's equally likely Skyes is still alive, and Lockwood left his care when he got Portland Row back and started his own agency. Lockwood is so secretive he wouldn't even tell his friends he'd been stabbed, so I feel like it's in character for Skyes to still be alive and Lockwood just like. Doesn't mention him or invite him over.
After Lucy left in the Hollow Boy, Lockwood played whatever instrument it is that he plays moodily at night for hours on end. George doesn't even tell him to stop because his playing is beautiful and he misses Lucy too.
Ok I'm gonna stop here before this becomes too long, lemme know if you want more because I could probably come up with more for him. I also plan on doing Lucy and George too! These guys are my comfort characters and I just love them. My blorbos

is that RISH SHAH? oh, no, that’s NICO BAJWA, a TWENTY-SIX year old MUSICIAN who uses HE/HIM pronouns. they currently live in QUILIPUÉ, and the character they identify with most is KUZCO FROM THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE. hopefully they find their own little paradise here in el país de los poetas!
BASICS
full name: nico rahul bajwa  hometown: los angeles, ca  sexuality: heterosexual  birthday: august 15  zodiac: leo sun, capricorn moon, taurus rising  height: 5’11”  languages spoken: english, some spanish marital status: single  children: none  traits: creative, confident, charming, dramatic, selfish, pretentious  career claims: lany (discography), danny l. harle (producing and composing)
HISTORY tw brief mention of car accident
born to a business mogul and his socialite wife, nico is an only child (and it's obvious) who was doted on from the moment he was born
he never wanted for anything, was spoiled beyond belief, and was definitely never told no
he was raised primarily by nannies and his mom, time with his dad was precious — he traveled a lot and nico didn't get to see him
time that WAS spent with his dad was usually on a yacht in ibiza or a high rise in dubai (very chill) where nico learned that the world truly was HIS oyster
he started playing around with music in middle school, taking lessons for piano and violin and teaching himself drums and guitar
he quickly became drawn to experimental pop and dance music (thus danny l. harle claim... producer of charli xcx and caroline polachek among others)
he started out composing and producing in high school and working with artists that his dad helped connect him to (nepo baby but IS actually good at what he does, duality)
he also started writing his own stuff and instead of going to college, started to release his own solo music
his music quickly gained popularity and he kept it up AND kept up producing
he got into some trouble last year at a big industry party and had to pay a LOT for property damage (accidentally drove his car into a pool)
so he decided it would be best to drop off the scene for awhile and has been chilling in chile for the past few months; he's still making music and being an idiot, but more In Hidden
PERSONALITY
uhhhhh a narcissist, thinks the sun rises and sets for him, god's gift to earth
he IS talented and good at music, but sometimes hard to see past the fact that he is an asshole fr
party boy, playboy... dumbass boy
very very charming, like you may not initially notice the sheer amount of cockiness because he is laying the charm on thick, but talk to him for too long and you can tell you're being schmoozed
not trustworthy, not a very good friend (unless you like things to be paid for, because that he will do)
feel sorry for any woman that has ever dated him because he may spend money on you, but he will not be putting in any emotional labor
sings a lot of sad boy breakup songs, but mostly because he has a distorted view of WHY and HOW his relationships fell apart — gaslighting himself and others!
if i had to pick a good quality? he IS funny
and he is hot
there, two good qualities

Unprompted answering of random asks from my own ask memes for Kayli:
🌱 What’s their basic information? Name, gender, age, that sort of thing
Full name: Kayli Meyer (surname was originally Radley until she was around 7-ish years old)
Gender: Cis woman
Orientation: Asexual, vaguely sapphic but also definitely not alloromantic (AKA, the exact answer I would have given for myself about a year ago)
Date of birth: 19th February 2275 (so, five months older than Trin at any given time)
Place of residence: Born and raised in California- more specifically in Lost Hills. She had never left California before travelling to West Virginia with Trin and living there for two years (2297 to late '99) and some spare change. Has just left WV and headed back west at the current point in the day-to-day OC timeline in my head
🌎 Do they have a favourite region of the world map (e.g. the Forest, the Ash Heap…)? A least favourite region?
She enjoyed seeing the variety of different environments in Appalachia more than anything else, but she does have a soft spot for the atmosphere (not literally!) of the Ash Heap that Trin doesn't share
As for least favourites, she didn't particularly enjoy embarking out further towards the east side of the map (Mire/Cranberry Bog region), but that's more due to the tougher enemies in that region and potential for Trin to start scorchily losing her shit than the actual geography
📷 How often do they take photos (or alternatively, how often do you use photomode haha)? Any favourite/funny photos of them you’d like to share?
She will sometimes take environmental shots to capture any unusual or striking features in the landscape, but on the whole isn't snap-happy like someone I could mention. Definitely doesn't love being in shot herself (so, not a fan of selfies).
🎻 Do they play musical instruments? How skilled are they at it?
Yesss. I literally added this question to that list specifically for Kayli lol.
She's taken violin lessons since childhood, and kinda knows her way around all string instruments as a result. Also figuring out a little bit of piano, which is more likely self-taught. But the violin will always be her baby.
💰 What is the most expensive thing they own?
The most expensive thing in terms of its overall value that she ever owned, past tense, was probably her first violin. It was in pristine condition with a pearlised blue varnish, which I'd imagine would have been very hard to come by.
It survived its time with her, by the way! She just had to swap for a new refurbished one eventually because it was child-sized.
💬 How many languages do they speak?
She's only fully fluent in English, but knows phrases here and there in plenty of other languages. However, I'm inclined to think that she would count the ability to read and write sheet music as knowing a language, which brings her total per her own judgement to two.
☂️ What’s their favourite type of weather? What type of weather do you associate with them, if any?
She's not a fan of any extremes of weather, but especially not storms or heavy rain. Having grown up a) underground and b) in California, the severe East Coast-style radstorms were an unpleasant novelty to her and she's very wary of them.
🍇 Favourite food? Any dietary restrictions or specific dislikes?
Discovered when she travelled east that she likes fresh seafood- but it absolutely has to be fresh, and that's going to be in much shorter supply where she's now living than it was in Appalachia. Welp. Lakelurk meat, maybe?
Her all-time favourite food is the gulper meat in Rudy's pepperoni rolls!
🤖 Do they believe science or art is more important? How much value do they place on each?
She'd firmly agree with the paraphrased quote 'Science keeps us alive, but art is what we live for'.

hi everyone this is laur (except im changing my alias to august) and i figured i'd do all of my muse announcements in one lil post <3
first of all, you might have noticed that i've k*lled alex. it wasn't a lack of muse so much as i felt that he didn't suit wannabe's premise as much as i'd hoped he'd evolve into. even after his closest friends were getting signed, he had no interest in being an idol so it was kinda a lost cause there... plus, i had wanted to bring yejun back since i dropped him about a year ago, and didn't want to break any rules, so... here we are now!
if u remember yejun you might also remember that i dropped him almost exactly a year ago bc of my terrible seasonal depression. well, i am happy to report that i am doing much better (so far) this year and regularly taking vitamin d makes a huge difference! so now the boy is here to stay.
very little changed about him, but i'll still do a quick recap under the cut!
a lot of this is copied-pasted from my last intro post on yejun... work smarter not harder aksjdhfas
tl;dr of any changes
i changed his history a bit so the last year+ was spent doing his military service; he's only recently returned in time to return to his studies this fall semester.
he's in @bejoomi's band! drummer (which is also a new skill).
tl;dr of his backstory
knew he wanted to pursue music professionally basically since middle school, however his parents are extremely opposed to the idea and would rather see him do something more “respectable” (aka something that he’ll actually make money at lol)
saved up his allowance to buy his own guitar and taught himself to play with the help of youtube because his parents said that if they were going to pay for instrument lessons, he’d have to learn violin or piano or something more “formal”… so as u can see as a child he was (respectfully) defiant and did his own thing anyway (also learned the drums somehow in this time)
he made a deal w his parents that if he could get scouted by an entertainment company by the time he graduated high school, he could pursue music. obviously, he is not a trainee or an idol, so that failed. so his end of the bargain was that he’d go to university for whatever they wanted instead.
he had to retake the exam once bc the first time he took it his scores were so bad so he started a year late and is currently in his sophomore year as an economics major. it’s still a mild disappointment to his parents since he has a brother who is a lawyer and the other is in med school, but it was the best program that yejun could get into.
needless to say. he hates economics. he’s doing his best but his motivation is at an all time low, he constantly feels burned out and tired, and honestly he’s probably depressed but he doesn’t know it bc he doesn’t think he’s “bad enough” to be “actually depressed” but he is just gaslighting himself honestly
interests and personality quirks
since starting economics school he’s slowly lost motivation to do anything that he used to do for fun, which unfortunately includes playing guitar. he hasn’t touched it in about a year… :( he is playing drums again tho
does the bedtime revenge thing where he stays up late when he really shouldn’t… he says it’s bc he doesn’t want to wake up and have to go to class
because he doesn’t sleep much at night he survives on a delicate balance between a caffeine addiction (he loves a good iced americano) and mid-day depression naps.
kinda hard to get him out and about these days… but that said he’s into video games, mostly team-based first person shooters, and is apparently a tank main. i don’t actually play any first person shooters so i have no idea of the details on this but he’s supposedly a decent player (nowhere near pro but able to be somewhat competitive in casual games)… when he’s staying up all night he’s probably playing games with his friends
also plays minecraft when he wants something slower paced… not particularly good at anything in it but he likes building his silly little house
oh by the way! he has an aunt who lives near his parents who visited often… she’d often make remarks about his chubby cheeks, call him fat and ugly, and after growing up hearing that constantly yejun honestly believes her
another fun (and by fun i mean decidedly unfun) tidbit is that he had a gf he was very serious about in his freshman yr of uni… it was a relatively short relationship but he genuinely thought he’d marry her. until she gave him chlamydia right after he came home from the military (he was going to propose too btw). turns out she was cheating! needless to say they broke up, yejun is now healthy after a round of antibiotics, and he doesn’t want to talk about her ever again. he tried a rebound or two to see if they’d cheer him up but they honestly made him feel worse so he ditched that idea pretty quickly… happy to stay single for now (supposedly)
plots & relationships
this boy… needs some friends in his life that’ll deal with his depressive tendencies and maybe push him out of his comfort zone. maybe a friend who keeps trying to set him up w other girls to help him find someone who actually makes him forget about his ex? or a friend who invites him out for coffee at least once a week just to make sure he gets out of the house for something other than classes sometimes… other cute ideas too pls i would like to put so much love into his life he has no choice but to get better
classmates too ofc… i dont expect anyone else to be an economics major but maybe they had some gen eds together? or were in the same freshman orientation and stayed in touch? i didn’t specify where he’s going but it’s not an arts school, so this is open for plotting out the details!
along w classmates… study buddies? they dont have to go to the same school or anything tbh they can just meet up at the same libraries, cafes, etc. and work on their own stuff… just having someone else around helps keep yejun on track a little bit better
high school friends too… he went to sopa thanks to the deal w his parents, so anyone he was close with then would’ve probably known about it and known what became of it… he’s a lot quieter and more subdued than he used to be so i wonder what your muse would think about that 🤔
i also do love some good antagonistic plots so maybe some old rivals who are happy to kick him while he’s down… alternatively rivals who miss his competition and want him back in the music/idol wannabe scene to help push them both
considered the idea of him having been in a band in high school with friends that’s since dissolved… so ex-bandmates might be cool
he's in dead calm but there's no rules that say he can't also play in another band as well! maybe someone should convince him to pick up the guitar again

So fun fact: My au Robin actually knows how to play the drums. And my Harry knows how to play on the electric guitar
Oooh! That’s awesome! My dhmis interpretations know how to play a few instruments- Robin can play a normal guitar fairly well but they are ESPECIALLY skilled with violins! (Bonus, they actually have a decent singing voice too , even with auto tune.. they make it work :3 AND they also used to play the piano too.. but that skill got lost over time for the most part :P) Red can play, again, a normal guitar well BUT he also can play banjos, electric guitars, and a LOT more (idk the names of more guitar-like instruments lmao- but in case u are wondering, he uses his musical skills ONLY to play “all star” on repeat) and then Doi can play the drums but is also currently taking guitar lessons from their dads!!
Bonus: Rodney plays the piano, he learned how to do so from his mom. Also never ask this bird to sing… whether they have auto tune or not… they are an absolutely horrible singer-
BUT YEAH!! Those are rlly cool headcannons tho friend! I’m sorry ehe I couldn’t help but ramble lol- STILL that’s rlly cool!

A Different Chord — Sammy Lawrence x Reader (Part One)
After a short time at Joey Drew Studios, you have an interesting introduction to the music director.
(Formerly titled “Beautiful Music.”)
———————————————————————
Would it be a day at Joey Drew Studios without Wally Franks losing his keys? The poor janitor must’ve misplaced them for the third time this week, and it was only Thursday.
You’d been working at Joey Drew Studios for a month or two now, as part of the animation department. Mr. Drew had jovially told you that you had quite the hand for drawing, and nearly hired you on the spot. When you began working at the studios, you were more than thrilled to learn that your childhood friend, Wally Franks, worked there as well. Unfortunately, you also knew how forgetful he could be.
In his misfortune, he asked you to help him out, lightly tugging your sleeve. You’d been learning a new animation strategy from your colleague, Henry Stein, when Wally sheepishly admitted that his keys had “disappeared.” You smiled knowingly as you excused yourself from Henry’s lesson. Wally was your best friend, so of course you would help him to find the elusive keys.
“Don’t draw too much without me!” You said to Henry before following Wally.
“I won’t, (Y/N)- better find those keys before Sammy does!” Henry called to the two of you, chuckling to himself as he continued to sketch his favorite dancing demon.
——————————————————————
Wally had told you that he was certain he’d misplaced his keys somewhere is the Music Department. You’d never been this deep in the studio- you were surprised Wally could even find his way through the maze your workplace was.
Finally, you both arrived at your destination.
“So, Wally, this is the Music Department?” You asked curiously.
“Sure is. I’m thinkin’ I left my keys somewhere in here… Would ya help me look for ‘em here?” The young janitor asked. “Mr. Lawrence is gonna be real mad if he hears I lost ‘em again,” he added nervously.
“Of course, Wally. We’ll find them, I’m sure,” You answered earnestly. You glanced around the new area.
As the two of you walked in, you noticed a wall with a banner painted on, spelling out “Music Department.” Underneath, in smaller print, you read “Director Sammy Lawrence.” Hanging on the wall were scattered music awards for various songs the studio had produced. There were only a couple, but for some reason you had a feeling the amount would only grow.
Bringing your attention back to your friend, you noticed he had already headed off down the hall. As you trotted up to him, you heard Wally recalling his steps from earlier in the day under his breath. He ended up leading you into a side room, full of instruments and chairs. You concluded it was the recording studio. A projector screen was set up behind where the band would play, though nothing was currently displayed upon it.
Suddenly, Wally stopped to look up at the room. You’d been walking so close behind that you nearly bumped into him. “Uh, Wally?” You asked, watching him take off his cap and scratch his head.
“Yep, I’m sure they’re somewhere in here. I was cleaning up after the band played, must’ve dropped them somewhere…” Wally trailed off, starting to inspect the floor. You followed suit, carefully maneuvering the instruments and chairs placed around the room.
As you continued your search, you briefly got distracted by a banjo in the corner of the room. You gently pick it up, plucking a few of its strings. It carried a different tone than you were used to- usually the piano or violin carried the tunes in the studio’s cartoons. You’d never noticed this instrument’s sound before. As you randomly plucked the strings again, a tune escaped your lips. You hummed happily, strumming an open chord. Playing an instrument had never been something you thought of picking up, working in the animation studio and all, but this was something completely new and exciting-
“Found ‘em!” Wally called, startling you back into reality. Right. Keys. Not exactly the time to discover a new hobby, (Y/N), you thought to yourself. You looked over to him as reached inside a waste basket, pulling out his newly-found set of keys. You smiled and placed the banjo down, sending him a thumbs up.
“Glad you found them, pal,” you grinned. Wally pocketed his keys, placing his hands on his hips. He apologized for dragging you from the Animation Department, and thanked you for your help.
“Thanks again, (Y/N). Now that I’ve got my keys, let’s get outta here-“
Wally’s signature catchphrase was interrupted by a loud thunk followed by an angry yell from down the hall.
“GOD DAMMIT JOEY-“
A tall figure stomped into the doorway, grumbling various curses. Both you and Wally froze to turn to who you assumed must be a fuming, ink-covered Sammy Lawrence.

— DAIKI
“Y/N-chan?” You turned to look at Momoi who approached you. “Do you... have a moment?”
“Sure, Momoi-chan.” You smiled gently and then grabbed her hand to move closer to the window, ‘cause you don’t want to disturb the other students who were walking at the hall. “What happened?”
“I know we’re all busy by final exams right now, but... It’s about Dai-kun...” She started shyly, and you sighed tiredly. “I feel like we’re in first grade once again! Daiki doesn’t come to trainings again. He’s rude to other students and managers. Could you please... Could you please talk to him? We have an important game against Shuutoku soon and we need to train to get it right. If Daiki-kun doesn’t start coming to training, the trainer will get upset on all of us...” She said sadly, and you nodded, understanding the problem.
“Recently we have... quiet days with Daiki.” You sighed and the pink-haired girl looked up at you in shock. “But I’ll talk to him, of course. I’ll do what I can, Momoi.”
“Thank you, really.” She breathed a sigh of relief, then took your hand. “Today we’re training again, so Daiki should be on the roof after classes. Let’s hope he agrees to come. He may even be late, but it’s important that he shows up on gym. It will mean a lot to our team.”
You nodded, smiling warmly at her. You said again that after lessons you would go talk to the ace of the squad, then you said ‘Goodbye’ to her and went to your class for Japanese literature lesson. Of course, you were planning in your head how to ask Aomine to play with the team again.
{ ・゚✧ }
You packed your books to your bag and then left the classroom. One of your close friends asked if you wanted to come back with her, but you refused, saying that you need to talk to your boyfriend.
So, without waiting for anything, you made your way to the roof of Touou High School. Fortunately, the weather was nice and there was no wind, so you smiled a little as you felt the pleasant rays of the sun on your face. But then you quickly reached the ladder to climb onto the next, much smaller roof. This is where Daiki usually slept; no matter if he should be in class or training.
And, of course, he slept there, safe and sound, immensely content and as if not worried about the consequence. You coughed softly, grabbing the attention of the basketball player.
“Oi. Y/N.” He said, then closed his eyes again. “Satsuki sent you to me?”
“So mean.” You grunted as you put your hand on your hip. “Why don’t you go to training again? What happened?”
“Nothing’s wrong. I just don’t want. I’m bored there.” He replied lowly, yawning.
“And yet, when you have free time, you play alone on the basketball court in the park and you won’t even write to me, asking if I would like to go out with you. You can’t fool me, do you know that? You still love basketball, you just don’t have a good opponent once again. And that’s funny because you’re going to be playing another match soon. Interestingly, supposedly this will be the Midorima-kun’s team. Without training, I don’t think you can handle his and Takao-kun’s three-point shoots.”
“I can handle it. I always win.” He muttered, and you chuckled under your breath, shaking your head in disbelief.
“I don’t think so, but fine. What do I have to do to get you to training. You worry your friend and the rest of the team.” You took a deep breath as you looked at the orange-yellow sun. “I just want you to spend more time with people who like and love you.”
“I don’t know Y/N. Maybe if you gave me a blowjob I would go, but now let me sleep. I’m so fucking tired.” He still had his eyes closed, so he didn’t see your disgusted expression, but after a while you clicked your tongue.
‘I promised Momoi. I promised Momoi. I promised Momoi. I’m doing it for Momoi-chan. Only for Momoi-chan.’ You kept repeating in your head, taking off the panties that were hidden under your navy blue skirt. You quickly put them in the school bag, which you placed gently on the ground. And then you walked towards Aomine, almost on stiff legs, begging no one to climb onto the roof.
Then you sat on your boyfriend’s thighs and immediately took off his pants. Your movements woke Aomine who opened one eye.
“I can’t believe you want to do this.”
“I’m not giving you a blowjob, you disgusting bastard.” You grunted as you finally removed his pants and boxers. You quickly grabbed his huge dick in your hand. “After that you go to training, do you understand?” You snarled as you moved forward. You guided the head of his thicc cock at your entrance, then slowly fell down, moaning. You closed your mouth quickly with one hand. Daiki, on the other hand, smiled as he caught your hips.
“If you do it right, I can go to training.”
“You little bitch.” You grunted as you tugged on his tie. “You have to go to training and to the match with team.”
“Only if you’ll ride my cock well, doll. Show me how much you care about it, then I’ll think about it.” He smiled disgustingly as he allowed himself to unbutton your uniform shirt. “Oi, oi. Is it for me?” He asked, running a finger over the white, delicate lace. “Cute.”
You jumped on the boy’s thighs, riding him calmly. “Why haven’t you been writing to me in the last few days?” You asked softly while purring at the pleasant touch of your boyfriend’s hand on your chest.
“I don’t know, I’ve been busy.”
“Busy with playing on court with your own stupid ass, basketball lover?” You were teasing.
“Shut up.” He growled as he tucked his fingers under your bra. After a while you felt his fingers squeeze both of your tits. You rested your own forehead on his shoulder, still rolling your hips. After a while, however, your moves became faster, almost desperate, and your boobs jumped in his hands, bringing a smile to his tanned face.
A second later, a warm tongue wrapped around one of the hard nipple, and your walls tightened on the basketball player’s cock, making him grow throaty.
“Basketball lover likes it when his girlfriend rides his cock, huh?” You laughed, tugging at his hair and causing his face to look straight at yours. “If you will be a polite, big boy and you don’t let me down, I’ll do that more often.”
“Stop teasing me.”
“Why?” You pulled on him even tighter, still jumping on his narrow hips. “Don’t you like when I glorify your basketball skills? When I admire you in your Touou basketball outfit? You don’t even know how I like the shorts you wear at matches. My dream is to be fucked by the number 5 basketball player in his jersey.”
A few simple sentences and you immediately felt the warmth spreading inside you. I don’t think you ever got Aomine to come so fast. You smiled triumphantly.
“Och. Are you out of shape because we haven’t seen each other for such a long time?” You laughed.
“Shut the fuck up. Second round.” He grabbed your hand, but you just kissed him on the thin lips and stood up.
“After training. Of course, if you show up there, basketball lover.”
“I’ll go! Shit, okay, I’ll go!” He growled loudly, wiping the sweat off his forehead and neck. “You’d better be prepared for this jersey fuck.”

— SEIJUUROU
Akashi has always had a lot stuff to do; family matters, student council, school and his passions, including basketball, shogi, piano and violin. That’s why there are times when both of you didn’t talk for two or three days. You fully understood him and often between lessons, before the breakfast break, you would leave a bento on his desk with a small piece of paper on which you would write that he ‘should take care of himself and not skip meals’. Seijuurou always appreciated it, but he couldn’t say it out loud. However, you didn’t blame him.
This time, however, your boyfriend didn’t talk to you for more than three days. He hadn’t said a single word in your direction all week, nor did he write a message, which was strange to him, because he always thanked you for the breakfast you brought him. But not this time.
You felt a bit bad about that fact. In addition, you knew that the next Winter Cup games were coming; you wanted to support your man in this, but maybe... he didn’t want to? You sighed softly as you bit your pen.
You have decided that when you finish your homework, you will visit him at his residence.
{ ・゚✧ }
Half an hour ago you said ‘Goodbye’ to your mom and said you’ll be back tonight or tomorrow after dinner (because is Friday right now so you have a weekend for yourself). Your parents liked Akashi very much, so they didn’t worry about how much time will you spend with him, by the way. They trusted him; the more that he always drove you to your home after all your dates.
So now you were standing in front of the big house. You rang the bell and greeted the housekeeper on the other side, saying your name and the reason for coming. Everyone in the residence knew you well and the old lady gladly let you in and then offered you some white tea. Of course you thanked but also saying that you came to see Seijuurou ‘cause you were worried about him. The woman nodded, saying that she wouldn't come upstairs to not disturb you two. You bowed and started walking towards the huge chestnut stairs that led up.
And then you knocked on a well-known door and walked in as soon as you heard ‘Come in’.
“Sei.” You smiled gently as you locked the door. “I’m don’t bother you?”
“Y/N. What are you doing here? It’s late.” He got up from his chair and put down the book he was reading, then walked towards you.
“It’s fine. I just wanted to see if everything was okay. We haven’t spoken recently... You understand.”
The pink-haired boy nodded and sighed delicately as he grabbed your hand. After a while he kissed your knuckles.
“I’m sorry, love. Due to the Winter Cup and trainings, I have no time or desire for anything else. I’ll try to be better. Maybe you want some tea? We’ll talk and then I’ll drive you to home back.” He replied honestly, and you just stroked his cheek and shook your head, surprising him. “So what do you want to do?”
“Can we hug? I missed you so much.” You asked softly, at which he smiled fondly and nodded once again. After a while you pulled him onto his bed and nestled against his chest, breathing calmly.
You spent a few longer seconds this way until you tilted your head back and kissed the basketball player on the lips. He kissed you back, of course, and you quickly lifted your body to sit on his thighs. You embraced the eighteen-year-old’s neck gently, and he placed his hands on your hips. You pressed your crotch a little harder on him, making a soft hiss.
After a while you directed your mouth to Akashi’s sharp jaw and warm, pale neck. You stroked his hair and neck without rushing, and kissed him at the same time. From time to time you were coming back to his tasty mouth, purring with pleasure. At one point, you felt a pleasant shiver as Akashi ran his hands over your thighs, squeezing the soft skin.
You moved away a little and then lay on your stomach, right in front of your boyfriend’s pants. The basketball player looked at you in surprise.
“Y/N?”
“Hm?” You smiled as you slide down his tracksuits and then his underwear as well. “Let me take care of you. You deserve it after all this hard work.” You said softly, looking down. “Anyway, I can’t leave you now.” You added teasingly, grabbing his half-hard dick with your hand.
At first you turned him on with your hand; your slow, steady moves made Akashi close his eyes while stroking your fluffy hair. You took your time, knowing that you both didn’t like it. Only after a long moment did you lean in, kissing his head; then you opened your mouth, sucking hard the tip of his cock.
You ate him like a pro, sometimes helping yourself with your both hands, because let’s face it, your boyfriend is big. He may be the lowest in his basket team, but he definitely has a lot to offer. That’s why you used to have serious problems with satisfying him because you were choking before. Luckily it was fine now, so from time to time you looked up at your very satisfied boyfriend’s face. His eyes were closed, and his hand moved to your ruddy cheek. You smiled as you kissed his head once more, then stepped back, still working your hand.
“Such a good boy. You’re wonderful and beautiful, baby.” You praised him by squeezing his thigh lightly. “You can definitely handle training and matches, I believe it, Sei. There is nobody better than you.”
“Y/N...” His cheeks flushed slightly which was a rare sight. Whenever you praised him, Akashi felt like he had a third personality who likes to be submissive.
“My lovely boy is so brave. I’ll show you how much you mean to me and how much I missed you. Never leave me alone for so long again, okay?” You grunted as you folded another kiss and then put his wet cock in your mouth again.

Music Opens A Person's Heart
I must warn you of the events that happen in this story. It is not a salt story even if there are mentions of Lila and Chloe in it. But I give the warning for how this story contains homophobic actions and talk of suicide. But this is still a story that I hope people will enjoy as it focuses on Adrien and Kagami learning more about their friends Lyon and Vallia.
Thank you and I hope you like the story.
*****
Adrien was in the locker room just finishing up all he needed to do after he finished fencing practice. He was just glad he was able to get through it without an akuma interrupting it like they usually interrupt his piano lessons and regular classes in school.
Plus, fencing was his time to hang out with Kagami without the pressure of being on a date. A date where tabloid reporters or paparazzi could harass them. He really liked Kagami, but both of them liked their privacy and hated having to deal with the constant flashing cameras, the never-ending questions about their relationship, and the speculation about the answers that they do not give.
Currently, he was going to be heading out with Kagami. His friends Lyon and Vallia invited them over for a home-cooked Greek meal. Since the twins were from Greece and both could cook quite well, they wanted to share this part of their culture with them. Kagami had been talking with Adrien about getting to know them more since they had known Adrien longer than his other friends. Other than Chloe, anyway. She was curious. Especially since they were from another country just like her.
It also helped that they also had his father's approval because of how their family is rich, very charitable, and incredibly well-connected.
Adrien soon met Kagami outside of the locker room. She was looking forward to dinner. Not only did she want to learn more about her boyfriend's friends, but she also had never tried Greek food before. She knew the names of some dishes but didn't know much more than that.
"Ready, Kagami," Adrien smiled at her and took her hand.
"I always am, Adrien," Kagami smiled back.
They were on their way out of Dupont when they heard something. It was music coming from somewhere else in the school. The sounds of a violin.
"You hear that too, right," Adrien asked his girlfriend.
"I believe I do," Kagami says. "Whoever is playing is really quite talented."
The two were very curious, so they followed the music. The music room did not get much use at Dupont. All the musicians that attended the school mostly preferred private practice or just performing for their friends like with Kitty Section. Kagami was still confused by their choice of a band name. She just didn't understand why such a silly and odd name was their choice. And if he was being honest with himself, Adrien didn't understand either. But they both mostly just shrugged it off.
Walking toward the music room, the two could hear the violin music more clearly. It was a beautiful soft tune that also had some type of musical feeling to it. Like they could tell that it belonged in a Disney movie or a Broadway show.
They opened the door and walked in. They were shocked by what they saw.
Inside the music room was Lyon Garden, the Ice Prince himself. He was playing the violin was as much grace and elegance as someone that had probably been playing it for years. His eyes seemed to be closed and his back was to the door, so he had no idea that they had come inside. There was no sign of his Flower Princess twin sister, Vallia Garden.
He continued to play until the song ended. Adrien and Kagami were both really impressed by the Greek's skill on the violin. He had never revealed much about what he liked to do other than archery. And most really only knew about his skills with a bow because when anyone annoyed him or made him mad, he would threaten to shoot them with an arrow. And considering that he was as skilled in archery as Adrien and Kagami were at fencing, odds are that he would not miss if he did shoot at someone.
When he stopped playing, Adrien and Kagami could not help but start clapping, applauding the amazing performance. Lyon immediately shot around, his eyes now fully open as he saw that he had gained an audience of two people. He did look relieved when he saw that it was just Adrien and Kagami. If it was anyone else, he might have been reaching for his bow.
"You two are lucky that I am holding my violin instead of my bow," he said, returning to his Ice Prince persona. "I don't do well with people sneaking up on me."
"You and Kagami will get along great, then," Adrien chuckled.
The fencing prodigy lightly punched him, Adrien bringing out her playful side the more they spent time with each other.
"You are really talented, Lyon," Kagami complimented the archer.
"I have been practicing the violin for years," Lyon says. "I find it to be an elegant instrument with a lovely sound. Unless you play it wrong and then it sounds like a dying cat."
That made the two fencers laughed at his comparison. Lyon then checked the time on his phone.
"I guess I was playing longer than I thought that I was," he said. "Can't have you two coming over and not even be in my own house to greet you two."
He packed up his violin and then walked over to the fencers with his bag and violin case. They both smiled at him as they all left together.
"I take it that Vallia is already at your house," Adrien guessed.
"Yeah," Lyon nodded. "She is probably gathering all the herbs that we need from our greenhouse as we speak."
"Is it a coincidence that you guys have a rooftop greenhouse or did you specifically choose that house," Adrien asked.
Lyon and Vallia live with their father in a manor/mansion almost as big as Agreste Mansion. It is just on the next street from Adrien's place. The Garden family now owned it and made it a family vacation home where they were currently living while they were in Paris. They even turned a side room on the bottom floor into a flower shop so that their father had a job even while their family sanctuary would keep them rich for generations to come.
"It was unused when we moved in," Lyon says. "We had to fix it up, add new windows, and install a sprinkling system for when we can not do the watering ourselves."
They started walking to the Garden vacation home. Thankfully it was a slow day and not even Hawkmoth was active. The last thing that the secret Cat Noir and White Wolf needed was to have their dinner ruined by an akuma attack.
"I have seen this place on the market for years," Adrien says as they approach the manor. "It's been so long that I never thought that it would be bought."
"I think that the saying is 'never say never,' Adrien," Kagami tells her boyfriend.
"Well, I certainly have learned my lesson now," Adrien chuckled.
He placed his arm around her as they got closer to the house. When they got to the door, he opened it for her and Kagami let out the closest thing to a giggle that she could let out and then went inside.
"You two are sickly sweet," Lyon playfully rolled his eyes. "My sweet tooth hurts, now."
"Don't get used to it," Adrien smirked. "Once Kagami gets a sword into her hand, sweet is probably the last word that you would ever use to describe her."
"You are lucky that I do not have my sword with me right now, Agreste," Kagami slapped him on the shoulder again.
"You two are fencers, my sister is a master at the bo-staff, I've seen Marinette and her mom both use martial arts very well," Lyon rolled his eyes. "I have surrounded myself with violent people and I did not even know it."
"Just lucky, I guess," Adrien chuckled.
"Plus, there had also been Mason..." Lyon froze after he said that name, completely freezing.
"Uh... Lyon," Kagami waved her hand in front of her new friend's face.
She shared a look with Adrien. They had never seen Lyon freeze like this before. He could make you feel like you had a case of frostbite with his icy attitude sometimes, but this was something new to them.
"Paris to Lyon," Adrien shook his shoulder.
It took a minute, but Lyon eventually snapped out of whatever trance he had been put in.
"My apologies," he said. "I do not know what happened."
"Let's... Let's just go upstairs," Adrien says.
Lyon nodded. He led them up the stairs. Sharing another look, the couple followed him. They did not know much about what had happened, but there was something familiar about it to them. To Adrien, it was like when he first tried to talk about his mom after she went missing. To Kagami, it was like after her father had first died. Lyon was feeling grief and froze when he mentioned the person he was grieving over.
It was a very quiet walk up the stairs. Lyon had a tendency to go icy a lot, but that was more because he generally liked to be quiet and cold in crowds. He uses it as a way to filter out those that are trustworthy or not. To see which ones are brave enough to see if there is a heart beyond the icy persona.
As they entered the main area of the house, upstairs, the French boy and Japanese girl felt like they had been teleported to Greece. The walls were all completely white but were lined at the bottom with a beautiful ocean wave-like painting at the bottom, where the wall met the floor. The floor was also mostly ocean-themed tile with some silver and blue carpets dotted here and there. There were also multiple pictures on the walls with either their family, their family sanctuary, the animals in the sanctuary, or just pictures of the Greece scenery.
The furniture was also mostly typical chairs made out of strong strands of wood that were woven together as a basket would be. Some were regular tan wood while others were white. But they all had cushions to make them more comfortable. There were two couches in the living room with the chairs. One was a regular white leather couch while the other was a bench-like couch that was hanging from the ceiling by strong but thin white ropes.
The manor was divided by floors, so it was very different on the inside to Agreste Mansion.
Soon after they got into the room, Vallia came walking down another set of stairs. In her arms was a Little Red Riding Hood-type basket that was filled with a lot of herbs.
"Welcome to Garden Manor," she smiled at the two of them.
"Thank you for the invite," Adrien smiled back.
"It's a pleasure meeting you," Kagami says.
Vallia puts the basket down and then shakes Kagami's offered hand. She eyed her brother, who had seemed to have gone into his icy persona, which was unusual since he was around her and their friends.
"I'll be right back to help with dinner, Vallia," Lyon tells her. "I... I just need something in my room."
"Oh... Okay," was all Vallia managed to say before Lyon almost seems to run out of the room.
"I don't think I have ever seen him act like that before," Adrien says. "Yes, he is the Ice Prince to those like Lila and Chloe, but this is different from that."
"Did something happen on your way over," Vallia asked as she took the basket of herbs into their very large kitchen.
"Well, would it matter that we found Lyon playing the violin before we came here," Kagami said. "Would that be relevant?"
Vallia sadly nodded. "He mention anyone?"
"Well, we were having a nice talk on our way here," Adrien tells her. "He was joking about being around so many violent people."
"Then he mentioned someone by the name of Mason," Kagami says. "That was when he froze up."
Vallia sighed again. "Yeah, that would pretty much do it."
"Who is Mason," Adrien asked. "But you do not have to tell us if you don't want to."
Vallia looked at them, thinking what she could say. The twins have always been private people, one of the reasons why they don't like Alya and her need to film so many things, but did not mean that they could not open up just like everyone else.
"You two might want to sit down for this," Vallia says, sitting in a chair herself.
Adrien and Kagami took a seat on the hanging couch, which was the closet piece of furniture to the gardener.
"Is everything okay," Kagami asked her.
"We'll be fine," Vallia says. "Lyon just needs some time. He cared about Mason more than almost everyone in the family."
"Who is he," Adrien asked.
"Mason is... Mason was... our older brother," Vallia started, shocking the couple. "He was older than Lyon and I, but younger than our brother Apollo. The violin you saw Lyon play used to belong to him. He plays it to always have a part of Mason with him since he had been a violin prodigy."
"What happened to him," Kagami asked.
"Well, you two know fully well that Lyon is gay," Vallia says.
The couple nodded. Lyon was very out about who he chose to love. And the fact that he and Luka never really hid when they were making-out certainly made it loud and clear which way that they swung. Adrien always snickered when he would see the very obvious twitch of annoyance in Lila's eyes when she was around and saw them. Adrien knew that it was because now there was another rich and handsome guy that she could not lie her way into a relationship with. Especially when he, himself, started publically referring to Kagami as his girlfriend.
"I think there isn't anyone in Paris that doesn't know that," Adrien chuckled even with the tense atmosphere.
"He is very open with his relationship with Couffaine," Kagami says. "I once caught them making out after practice."
"I don't think a single person in school hasn't caught them," Adrien chuckled again. "I once saw Lyon chasing after Aurore and threatening to shoot her with an arrow because she had apparently taken a few pictures of him and Luka. She was laughing the whole time, so I don't think she knew how serious Lyon was about shooting her."
"He only shoots poachers, animal abusers, and animal traffickers, if I remember correctly," Kagami said.
"Yes, but we are getting off track," Vallia got their attention again. "The point is, Mason was also gay. He came out of us when he was twelve. We accepted him, of course, but not everyone was like us."
"God," Adrien gasped since as a model, he knew how much the world of fashion was very open to the LGBT community, so homophobia was horrific to him.
"Mason was very popular, especially once he got to high school," Vallia continued. "His friends knew he was gay, but Mason was also very private. So he was not really out in the open as Lyon is. So he was also very popular with the girls since they did not know better. But one girl was not going to take 'no' for an answer once she saw a handsome and rich guy like Mason."
"I guess that is why Lyon hates Lila so much," Adrien said. "He sees her constantly hanging on my arm no matter how much I tell her to let go."
"Do I need to threaten her with my sword... again," Kagami reached for the blade that was in her fencing bag.
"Later, Kagami," Adrien put his hand on her girlfriend's.
"Her name had been Cleo Sora," Vallia says. "She was basically like the worst versions of Chloe and Lila out into one person. The Queen Bee of the school that did anything to keep her power and always seem like the most important person around. She saw Mason and thought that he would be the perfect King Bee, even when that is not a thing. He turned her down... a lot. No matter what she did, how she dressed, or how much she tried to drape herself over him, he always made it clear that he would never be interested in her. It came to the point that his friends were basically a protection squad to keep her away from him."
"Sounds like what Nino and Kim have become to protect Marinette from Lila," Adrien said.
"The problem was that since Cleo was very popular, and that she had powerful tv hosts as parents, she always had people listening to her," Vallia says. "The more Mason rejected her, the angrier that she got. She saw herself as perfect and as basically more perfect than even Aphrodite, the literal goddess of beauty. That was when she eavesdropped on Mason and his friends and found out he was gay. She didn't like that."
"Oh my," Kagami gasped, not liking where the story was going.
"She started vicious rumors about Mason," Vallia looked to be fighting tears. "Saying that he only had friends because he slept with them all, that hit any girl that approached him in private, that he abused the animals that he took care of at the sanctuary. More and more people turned their backs on Mason no matter how many times he and his friends denied everything. Not even pointing out that there was never any proof to the rumors helped them."
"This girl really is like Lila and Chloe," Adrien said. "Only worse. Not even Lila has lied about Marinette sleeping with anyone. And Chloe only ruins days, not lives."
"Mason might have been six years older than us, but Lyon and I saw how much it was hurting him," Vallia could not stop the tears that flowed down her face. "Mason became more distant by the day. He started to stop coming to dinner and barely showed up at the sanctuary anymore. He was strong, but even the strongest wall gets knocked down if you hit it enough. Cleo managed to find him in private and threatened that if did not give up his 'f*****t way of life' and date her, she would scream rape to everyone within hearing distance."
"God," Adrien gasped.
"Lyon was the one that found him," Vallia was barely keeping it together. "Mason was hanging by the ceiling fan in his room. Lyon freaked and basically lost it. Mason couldn't take it any longer. His resistance broke and could not take the shame that such a rumor would bring to our family. That was also the day that the 'Ice Prince' was born. None of us were ever the same, but Lyon was especially hit. Mason was a hero to Lyon, probably the one person Lyon would ever see as perfect. Mason killing himself basically froze Lyon's heart for a long time."
Kagami might have been known as the Ice Queen around Dupont, but she looked to be fighting her own tears as she heard the story. Adrien was looking down the hall where Lyon had disappeared down. He had no idea that his friend held so much pain inside of him.
"We had no idea," Adrien said.
"Lyon doesn't like talking about him," Vallia says. "He wants to keep it under lock and key as long as possible."
"I get it," Kagami says. "I know more than others how much easier it is to hide our real emotions behind a mask of ice."
"If I was in Lyon's place, I probably would have done the same thing," Adrien admitted.
"Lyon can be very open when he wants to be, but he will always have a wall up," Vallia said. "Playing the violin, Mason's violin,  helps him remember without breaking down."
"Music soothes the savage beasts," Adrien remembered from one of the trips their class had taken to the zoo.
Vallia nodded. "If there is one thing that Lyon knows, it's that music has power."
Adrien and Kagami had both known pain and loss. They were not going to push Lyon, but they knew that they were going to be there for him. After all, Adrien was a musician as well. So he knew the healing power that music had as well.

summary: You know, when Min Yoongi's face isn't screwed into an accusatory scowl, he looks exactly like the kind of guy you'd have no trouble falling in love with. Or, the conservatory au where Yoongi helps you get over your stage fright. In more ways than one.
a/n: I’ve been reading fanfics for years and finally bit the bullet! I’m currently working on the other chapters and will have them up soon... and I promise there will be significantly more action in them ;) This is also crossposted to ao3, so you can check it out there too!
You know, when Min Yoongi’s face isn’t screwed into an accusatory scowl, he looks exactly like the kind of guy you’d have no trouble falling in love with. Even the back of his head is enticing as you stare at him in the middle of your Beethoven lecture. You struggle to focus to take notes on Beethoven’s genius deviations from sonata form, as Yoongi leans back and stretches his arms above his head. You wish you could see him from the front, see what his expression looks like when he’s not telling you to get the fuck out of his practice room. Instead, you settle for watching him bounce his leg up and down, now hunched over his notes.
Fuck, it’s been a long time since you’ve felt that uneasiness in the pit of your stomach. The butterflies start to bubble up every time you see him, even in passing. You’ve never been able to escape his presence on campus, seeing him everywhere but never actually speaking.
Any time you’ve seen him on campus, he’s always with Taehyung - Taehyung being the other violinist in the tiny music department. You see them often on campus, walking together between the cafe and the music building. You see Yoongi when he’s alone in the cafe, nursing a coffee and brooding over some orchestral score, or in passing when you’re run-walking between classes to reserve your favorite practice room before anyone else can. And since both of you are music majors in the same year, you’ve shared a majority of the music classes that you’ve taken up until now.
You wonder if he can see the longing written all over your face when you see him in classes, but he never spares you more than a second glance. If that. The most likely scenario is that he doesn’t know you even exist.
Whenever you see him though, all you can do is bite down the nervousness and replay the last (and also first) time that you spoke to him. The hard look in his eye, the way that he slammed the door in your face.
The first time that you talked to Min Yoongi, you could barely look him in the eye. And it’s not because he’s maddeningly gorgeous and even more intimidating. Well, a little bit.
The lack of eye contact had more to do with the fact the headache that had been plaguing you was starting to threaten your ability to stand up straight. Even through your blurry vision and the disapproving pout on his face, he was still so. Fucking. Hot. How was any of this fair?
The exchange you shared with Yoongi was just another incident in the long string of unfortunate mishappenings that one Tuesday morning.
That morning, you weren’t sure if it was your alarm or your throbbing head that woke you up. If the alarm was bothering your roommate, she didn’t stir from her side of the room. You had tried to will yourself awake, making out patterns in the ceiling tile, vision blurring.
You remembered weighing your options, like you did every single morning. You could drag your ass out of bed, and pick up some coffee before rushing to reserve your favorite practice room in the music building. You could take the time to run through some drills for your lesson this week, a little extra practice to escape the scrutiny of your violin teacher.
Or, you could go back to sleep for another couple of hours and just tell your teacher that you’re sick. You groan, knowing what the answer is supposed to be.
The air was cold when you pushed the covers off your body. Even in the dead middle of a long and difficult winter, your university was still too cheap to enable the central heating in your building. You didn’t need to look outside to know that it had been snowing, your room awash in a white glow that you were all too familiar with. Your roommate was still sound asleep, and you had felt the fleeting spark of jealousy at how peaceful she had looked. You still tiptoed around the room trying to get dressed quickly. You just knew you didn’t get enough sleep last night when it started to feel like you were fighting gravity just trying to put pants on. Everything moved in slow motion, shifting like sand.
When you finally started walking, no, trudging , to the music building, you were disappointed to learn that you were right and that it had been snowing. The wind bit at the soft skin underneath your collar, seeping through the fabric of your jeans. The arrival of your every breath was announced by a plume of white vapor. You fucking hate the cold.
Call it intuition, but you could already tell from the start that today wasn’t going to be a good day. The coffee that you had ordered did nothing to soothe the cold that was beginning to ache from the inside out. It left a waxy taste in your mouth when you knocked back some ibuprofen. As you continued the trek to the music building, coffee kept dribbling out from under the lid and into the sleeve of your jacket. Several times you slipped on the melting ice, only catching yourself at the last moment.
Your hands were numb through and through by the time you got inside, struggling to open the locker that kept your violin safe. Shivering and clutching your violin case in your stiff hands, you made your way inside the hall. The inside of the music building of your university was hardly any refuge compared to the conditions outside. You braced yourself, knowing the ordeal you were inevitably going to go through tuning your violin.
Your violin was a fickle mistress. Be it cold, warm, humid, too humid, not humid enough, or even just bad vibes, your violin would go out of tune. The winter weather had not been easy on your instrument, going sharp at even the drop of a hat.
At that early in the morning, you had (foolishly) hoped your favorite practice room was unoccupied. Well, it’s everyone’s favorite practice room. It’s the only one that isn’t completely gross inside, but it’s really just the better of two evils. It has the newest piano of all the other ones in the building, and also the only room without a draft in it, so you won’t go completely flat after twenty minutes of practice.
With your case in one hand and a coffee in the other, there wasn’t a whole lot of grip you can use to open the door to the practice room. You settled for forcing the crook of your elbow into the doorknob and leveraging your body weight against the door. It took a couple tries, when but you got it open, it wasn’t the empty silence you were expecting.
In the dim light of the doorway, all you saw was the shadow of someone hunched over the piano pressed up against the wall, facing away from you. He was so immersed in his playing that he hadn’t noticed you at first. His sheet music was laid out before him in a neat row, and even from your distance you saw the meticulous markings over the music. It looked like a scene out of a movie, the way it took over his whole body, the way he moved over the keys. You saw it in the way that he moved with the phrases, dipping and swelling. He looked like he had always been there, and he’ll always be there.
The figure stopped playing, back still turned to you. He turned around, looking you in the eye.
Of course. Of all the music students to interrupt, it just had to be Yoongi. Fuck, you hate walking in on people practicing. It’s already like competing in the Hunger Games trying to find a suitable practice room. And half the time the rooms stink of dampness or dining hall food or the tears of the hopeless, so imagine adding salt to the wound by interrupting a practice session.
Your genius first reaction was to jump out of the doorway and let the door slam shut, startled.
Even now, sitting two rows behind him in lecture, weeks later, you still cringe at what you had done. You grip your pen a little tighter, trying to keep up with the rest of the class. But you still can’t help yourself from reliving the memory.
~
You had stood outside, frozen in shame.
Before you had the chance to flee, one Min Yoongi appeared at the door. His face was twisted not into a grimace, but it definitely wasn’t a smile, either.
“What do you want,” He huffed out, “I was in the middle of something.”
“Sorry, I-I thought this room was empty.” The words get caught in your throat. You mentally kicked yourself for starting to blush.
“It’s not.” He gestured at his backpack on the ground, various method books littered at his feet. You two stared back at each other, at an impasse.
You remember his tired sigh. “Do you need anything else?” You couldn’t read anything in his expression, taken aback at how curt he had been.
“Uh, no.” You tightened your grip on the handle of your case, and felt the warmth of the coffee seeping into your palm. At that point, there wasn’t a lot left tethering you right now. The heartbeat in your head was beginning to become tangible.
“Okay then. I’m sure there are other practice rooms you can use.” He shut the door, returning to whatever he was practicing, leaving you in stunned silence. If Yoongi was playing right now, you couldn’t hear it.
So there you were, standing in the hall of the music building in the early morning, two hours left until your lesson. Coffee was still dripping down your sleeve, Min Yoongi just slammed a door in your face, and your head feels like it’s going to fucking explode.
Damn you, you had thought to yourself, cursing him through the door. Damn you and your arrogance, and your trendy wire-rimmed glasses, and your long delicate fingers. You stormed off (more like stumbled, given the state of your head) to the adjacent practice room, cheeks hot with embarrassment.
Okay, maybe you were being a little overdramatic. He didn’t exactly slam the door in your face. And you didn’t knock. If you didn’t know any better, you would have assumed that he was just being cold. But you’ve been the person in the practice room and you’ve never been thrilled to find that someone had walked in on you after fighting tooth and nail for a practice room.
In a way, it was also about power. You walked in on him in a compromised position, like he was in a state of undress. Well, he kind of was. In your own experience you hate to have anyone hear what you haven’t chosen to show, anything you haven’t perfected to show the outside world. You hate being walked in on, but maybe it’s just you.
Maybe Yoongi was pissed that you had heard him working on a piece that he was struggling with. Maybe he hated your guts. Maybe he was so overwhelmed by your powerful sexual presence that he had no choice but to close the door in your face. You would ponder his intentions more, but class was over. You’d have to wait until Friday to see him again.
~
Johann Sebastian Bach is not a bad person. He’s never done you wrong. In fact, you have never even met him. He’s dead, for god’s sake.
But it really does feel something like vengeance from beyond the grave when it’s two a.m. in the morning, slogging through his music and feeling your shoulder burn under the weight of your violin and the unending pressure of never feeling good enough for anybody.
It’s not like you’re playing Bach’s music for your own selfish enjoyment. His piece, the one you’ve been working on, is your one way ticket to a spot in the annual Bach Festival next month. The festival is the pride and joy of the music program, pulling in big performers and big crowds. Any classical musician has a soft spot for Bach, even just a little. Even you do too, but it wouldn’t be fair to say that right now. Not after you’ve spent the better part of an hour trying not to rip your hair out over the same section. Even without the music of the festival, it’s always a good excuse for the performing music majors to get together afterward and get trashy drunk.
Last year at the afterparty, Taehyung had drunkenly told you that he was jealous of your vibrato while Yoongi stood by, watching in abject embarrassment. Even then, Yoongi didn’t offer you any words.
And it’s not like you are playing in the Bach festival out of your own free will. After some gentle coercion (read: the cold, hard eyes of the music department head, Dr. Yang, boring into the depths of your puny musician soul) you found yourself with a whole new piece to add to this semester’s repertoire and only a month to bring it some musical justice and to commit it to memory.
Don’t ever let Dr. Yang ever hear this, but you’ve never liked this partita this much anyway. Fighting the cold dead ghost of J.S. Bach and his charming partitas is the last thing that you want to do every evening when you really could just be doing anything else.
It’s most definitely not like you’re any stranger to performing and you really want this opportunity, truly. But blending into the gentle melody of the rest of your string quartet or the roar of the orchestra is worlds away from being alone on stage. There’s a comfort in the safety that comes from numbers. It’s easy enough to play for your teacher. The space that the both of you exist in is just right: you see her once a week, and she’s paid to deliver you with honest criticism. It’s straightforward, a mutual agreement.
But performing is different. It’s easy enough to be vulnerable like that in front of someone that just wants you to do better. Someone that you pay to make you get better. Someone that’s been doing it for the better part of their life and will understand the craft better than you ever will. But an open concert hall with anyone? That’s too much.
You’ve tried everything short of hard drugs to remedy the stage fright. Deep breathing exercises, imagining everyone before you is naked (which really, really makes it worse), carbo-loading. At this point, your body rejects performing. The fear is all-consuming and overwhelming. And the worst part is you know it’s all in your head.
What could you possibly be afraid of? You know you’ve paid your dues, prepared months in advance for these performances and yet your head swims, your heart plays pinball in your insides, your hands tremble at the prospect. There is still something profoundly vulnerable about stepping out on stage alone, the click of your heels echoing through the concert hall, a prelude of what’s to come. It makes the hairs on the back of your neck raise knowing that every eye in the room is trained on you.
You really don’t have a choice in the matter. Your role in the Bach festival was long decided before you ever stepped foot on campus this semester. The music department has been planning this since the beginning of the academic year, and it’s not surprising that your name might have come up during the meetings that decided who would be on the program.
Even so, these kinds of late nights are not new.
The pressure of this semester took you off guard. The coursework is more than you’re used to, stretched too thin between violin lessons, quartet rehearsals, orchestra rehearsals. Neverending rehearsals.  And then there’s the matter of your actual classes. You cringe at the thought of the philosophy paper due next week, the calculus problem set (which, by the way, why the hell did your advisor make you take this class?) due two days from now, the growing number of readings that you always mean to do. (But never do until the night before the midterm.)
After running through the same sections over and over with little progress, maybe, you decide, it’s time for a little break. Eyes bleary, you stifle a yawn as you place your violin back into its case. You gently sweep the rosin off the strings and the varnished exterior with a soft cloth, with the kind of love that a mother has for a newborn baby. You elect to leave your backpack and violin case in the practice room, promising yourself to come back and work on it some more before you leave for the night.
The only thought on your mind is the comfort of the broken-in couch that lives in the hallway of the second floor of the music building. It’s been there longer than you have, longer than anyone at this school has been. The couch is shaped like a lopsided smile, creaking underneath your weight when you lay down on it.
This is the only relief you’re going to get today, aside from when you finally go back to your dorm room to sleep. Just a couple minutes out here to rest, and you should be able to go inside and maybe run through the piece a couple more times.
When you finally relax, your joints ache and the pricking pain comes back to your fingertips. Blood wells up in the calluses on your left hand, but it’s nothing new. Maybe you have been overworking yourself a little, but all of that pales in comparison to the deadlines looming over your head for the next couple months. A couple sleepless nights mulling over pieces in the practice room are likely necessary to be able to meet your goals. Well, it's been more than a couple sleepless nights, actually. The past three weeks were all spent here. Anyone in the music building in the evening, any evening, could hear the warble of your violin if they strained their ears enough.
The couch feels too much like the lumpy mattress sitting in your dorm room. Better, actually. A couple minutes of quiet contemplation pass, fidgeting with the hem of your sweatshirt. Your eyelids keep closing not of your own volition, and it’s becoming more and more difficult to open them each time. You drift off into a restless sleep, murky dreams shadowed by all the work that you have cut out for you for the rest of this week.
~
“Hey, hey, y/n.” Something, or someone, rouses you from your sleep. A gentle hand on your shoulder, a soft voice in the distance. You’re too stunned and groggy to do much of anything than bring a hand to cover the lights overhead.
Min Yoongi stands before you, coffee in hand. He’s making that face that he’s always making, lips drawn in a tight line and brow furrowed in what looks a lot like disdain.
Before you get the chance to say anything, memories of the last time you spoke flood you.
“It is y/n, right? Your name is y/n?” You realize your compromised position, prone and folded up on the sagging couch.
“Um, yeah.” You sit up, running a hand through your hair, trying not to make your embarrassment apparent. He doesn’t say anything else, just looking at you, evaluating your mess of a person.
“Sorry,” you say, sounding sheepish despite yourself. You can only hope that you weren’t sleeping with your mouth open.
“Sorry for what? The only thing you’re doing wrong is sleeping on that damned couch. Do you know how many people have fucked on that thing?”
You stutter, lost for words. Laughter comes out at the seams. It’s the second time that you’ve spoken to him and that’s the first thing that comes out of his mouth, but what else would you expect? Most of your interactions with him to date involve you trying not stare in the middle of your species counterpoint lecture. But who cares about writing perfectly structured harmony when you can stare at his perfectly structured hands?
It’s unfair how good he looks right now, at the witching hour on a weeknight. The aloof, barely present, I-could-totally-be-anywhere-else thing works for him. It works for you, at least.
But none of it matters now, both of you are talking now. It’s past midnight in the creaky music building, anything can happen.
“It’s Yoongi, right?” You question, the grogginess leaving and something else settling in. It’s all for show. Of course you know his name.
He nods in affirmation.
“Why did you have to wake me up in the first place? You didn’t have to do that.”
“It’s getting late, you know. I didn’t want you to wake up and realize you’ve been locked inside the music building.” Min Yoongi adjusts his glasses, genuine concern in his eyes when he continues, “I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay.”
You relax a little, softening at the edges, leaning more into the sinking couch and away from his imposing gaze. The butterflies return again, and your mind blanks thinking of a response to his concern. You must be really fucked if simple eye contact reduces you to a dysfunctional mess.
“I-I’m fine, just working on this stupid piece. And I can say the same for you. Why are you here so late?” You stutter over your words. Get yourself together. This is your chance to finally talk to him. Just don’t fuck it up now.
Yoongi bristles where he stands. “Same as you. Why else would I be in the practice rooms so late?” He returns your knowing smile.
“I mean, it’s a college campus. They’re private, soundproof practice rooms. He was a boy, she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious?” Your eyes crinkle at the corners when you smile up at him.
“You’re overestimating me.” He chuckles low and it goes straight to the pit of your stomach.
“Are you playing at the Bach festival?” Yoongi says, moving to sit down next to you, The couch sinks ever lower under his weight. Yoongi was right: people really are fucking on the couch after hours.
“Hoping to, at least. This partita will be the end of me.” You put your head in your hands, groaning. The memory of your previous practice session returns, reminded of all the hours left that you’ll spend chipping away at all the notes. It feels like a weight has returned to your shoulders. Even the thrill of getting to talk to Yoongi isn’t enough to distract you from all the stress of the Bach festival.
“I’m sure it’s fine. You’re here all time, hogging the nice practice rooms. You can’t be practicing this much and have it sound bad.”
“That’s because you’ve never heard me play,” you jab. This conversation isn’t going anywhere, maybe you read it all wrong.
“Well,” he quips, “Maybe you should let me hear you.” When he meets your eye again, there’s something else in his expression.
You weigh your options. This might be one of the only times that you ever speak to Min Yoongi again for the rest of the semester.
Pros: You get to talk to him for longer than three seconds. You get a second, outside opinion from someone who doesn’t play violin.
Cons: You have to actually show him what you’ve been working on.
“If you’re up for it, maybe you could hear me now. I could really use a second opinion on this piece before my lesson next week.” Ugh, fuck it.
You can feel it bubbling up now, the same anxiety in the pit of your stomach. You’ve felt it in the sweltering heat of the backstage behind a velvet curtain, and now you’re feeling it in the stagnant air of the second floor of the music building. But if it gives you a chance to talk to Min Yoongi, you might as well take it.
You watch him consider your words. A silence falls between you both, widening into a maw. Were you too forward? Maybe this was all a mistake. You’ve offered something that he doesn’t want, and this is all going to fall apart, and he’s going to think you’re weird for propositioning him.
You can see it now, two days from now when you see him in your Beethoven lecture. He’ll avoid your gaze as you walk into the classroom, and he’ll have forgotten your name by next semester.
Before you can berate yourself further, Yoongi smiles. He looks surprised, like you’re doing him a favor. “You’d really let me hear you play?”
Relief colors your smile.
“Of course. The best pianist in the whole department, all to myself?” Flattery makes Min Yoongi blush, you discover.
“It’s nice to have someone finally admit it,” Yoongi trails off. “So, are you going to let me hear you play? Sitting on this couch is nice, but you know what this couch is really for.”
“Ha, ha. Sure.” Both of you shuffle to your practice room, Yoongi holding the door open for you. When you brush past him, you can smell the lingering coffee on his breath and whatever laundry detergent he’s using. It’s dizzying.
You begin to take your things out of your case, taking extra care to rosin your bow even though you did it earlier. You take the extra time to wipe the varnished wood of your violin, sweeping at rosin marks that aren’t there just to stretch the time out more.
“So,” you begin, “What were you working on in the other room?”
“I was actually just working on some drills, nothing in particular.” In the meantime, Yoongi takes a seat at the piano bench and it looks like he’s always been there. Like he belongs there, just like that morning in the practice rooms.
Yoongi can tell that you love what you do in the careful, practiced way that you open your case and delicately tighten your bow. He’s never seen you in your element before, not like this, not in this proximity. Yoongi straightens himself in his chair when he realizes that his eyes have trailed from your shoulder rest to your ass.
“Hm, yeah. I should work more on technique practice too… I’ve just been working on repertoire lately. To be honest, I don’t run through my scales as often as I should.”
“You know, it might sound familiar to you. The etude I was working on, I mean. It was the one I was working on when you so rudely barged in on me that one time.” He says, all arrogance. Smugness all over his smile. You hate him for it.
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry about that!” You cringe at the memory, “I can’t believe you remember that.” Your efforts at setting up your shoulder rest are twice renewed.
“Of course I do. How can I forget something like that?” Yoongi crosses his arms, leaning back. “Now you’re just making it even.”
You’re too flustered to tell if he’s genuinely flirting, but whatever it is, it does nothing to calm your nervousness.
“Um, before I start, I should probably tell you that it’s kind of rough. Like, I started on it recently, and I’m still not that happy with it…” You trail off, looking unsure. Your violin begins to droop from where it’s resting on your shoulder. The pit of your stomach feels light again, but it’s not arousal or attraction this time, just the same stage fright that’s tormenting you since forever. Yoongi is worried you’ll give into it, put your violin back in the case and pretend this never happened.
“Hey, I really don’t know that much about violin and I don’t even know what your piece is. I just want to hear you play,” Yoongi’s soft tone surprises you. He pauses, slowly meeting your eye, “Please?”
You would do anything to hear that again. To see and hear Min Yoongi sitting before you with those asking eyes, saying please just one more time. Maybe it’s the late hour or lingering delirium from your fevered sleep, but you get the feeling that he doesn’t usually show that to just anyone.
You pretend to consider his words, but you were bought the second that he asked you “please.” You drag out the act as long as you can muster.
He’s still looking at you, asking with his eyes.
“Hmm, okay,” You dig your toe through some invisible spot on the carpet, now too shy to meet his gaze. You move your sheet music on the stand, not that you need to, realizing that your hands are trembling. Performance anxiety bubbles up within you, shaking your heart and hands the same. You tamp it down.
“I’ll show you. But it’s only for you, okay?” This is a low risk situation, he doesn’t know what it sounds like, and if it all goes to shit, just skip sections, you tell yourself, stilling the frantic breath in your lungs. You shut your eyes, blinking, placing your hand in the correct position and the bow resting lightly on the string. One more deep breath and you start to count off in your head, reeling up to play. It’s okay. It’s fine, everything is going to be okay. You ignore his gaze, on you and only you. There’s nothing else to look at but you, anyway. There is only the soundproof padding and the panel mirror mounted to the wall, the piano that sits pressed up against the wall in this cramped up room. You work your way through the scale patterns and the rolled chords that Bach laid out centuries ago, easy going so far. You shut your eyes again.
Yoongi can tell that you’re nervous. Really nervous. He can see the tension in the way you stand, in the way that you tremble when you lift your bow. It doesn’t sit right with him that his simple presence in the practice room unnerves you so much. But it’s not like he’s completely unaware of what he does to you. Yoongi remembers that morning in the practice rooms, vividly. He remembers your doe-eyed expression, silently begging for forgiveness. He also remembers all those furtive glances you take in lecture together, like you didn’t think he’d notice. He thinks it’s cute. Endearing, almost.
It’s unfair how nervous you seem when he knows how good you are. God knows there have been enough hazy Saturday nights when he’s tipsy, Taehyung’s tipsy, everyone’s tipsy - and Taehyung is complaining about the cute violinist girl with impeccable vibrato and is always hogging the best practice room.
He can see you starting to relax, the passion alight in your eyes, so awake and alive even in the dead of night. You sway on your feet, like this is somewhere glamorous and not a dingy fluorescent practice room. He blushes when the tempo picks up, something else in your expression now, and he notices how dexterous your hands are. What’s even more attractive is the way you seem so removed from everything. He watches the way that the world around you fades away. It’s just you and your music, nothing else that matters in the world.
How could he have ever strained his ears for your muffled playing outside the practice rooms, if this was what was inside?
It’s easier to focus on the sound when you’re not looking at him looking at you. The muscle memory comes back and your mind goes elsewhere, anywhere away from Min Yoongi. You can only hope you’re not pulling an ugly smile, and that your shoulder rest isn’t giving you a double chin. You try to put your focus on the right amount of vibrato, your bow control, the dynamics. Like always, the music sucks you up and pulls you in (even if it is an overplayed Bach partita), pausing only briefly to turn the page on your music. It’s not until the thirty-second note runs until you begin to stutter. Your fingers trip over themselves as you struggle to play them on tempo and that’s when you stop, finally meeting Yoongi’s eyes for the first time after.
“And that’s about as far as I got. I’ll spare you from what the rest sounds like so far. I’d rather show you what I have on tempo first.” You are breathless, but so is Yoongi, but he’d never tell you that. His eyes are dilated, lips parted, cheeks pink. But at this distance you don’t notice, too self-conscious about your performance to focus on anything else. Yoongi hasn’t said anything, just looking at you intently, looking lost in thought. The silence is heavy.
“So… what did you think?” You look less confident than before, more wry and unsure of yourself.
“It was, wow, they weren’t wrong. You sound really good. You are really good.” Yoongi rubs his hands up and down his thighs, hands clammy. He rambles on, “That was great. Thank you, thank you, um, for showing me.”
“What do you mean?” You laugh a little, just to clear the suddenly serious atmosphere. “Who is they?”
“Well, everyone thinks that you’re an amazing violinist. Taehyung has said a lot about you, and some of my other friends have too.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that I had a reputation.” You take the shoulder rest off your violin and put it back into its rightful place, the tiredness settling in deeper into your bones. It’s truly late now.
“Of course you have a reputation, have you heard yourself?” Yoongi sounds incredulous.
“I mean, I thought I was just okay,” You nervously run a hand through your hair. You wipe your violin down again, just to give your hands something to do. You shut the book on the music stand and stow it away in your case.
“You’re more than okay. It sucks to see you doubt yourself. I hope that’s okay for me to say.” Yoongi follows the movement of your hands as you close the clasps on your case, everything packed away. Is it really time to go already?
“I haven’t met a single musician that doesn’t feel that way about their own playing.” You sit next to him on the piano bench. The conversation is more heavy than you would like, too late at night to be introspective, and you just want to get that disappointed expression off his face.
“But yeah, it sucks.”
Yoongi sucks his lower lip between his teeth, sucking in breath. There is mirth in his eyes. “Well, I never get nervous about playing.” He places his hands on the keyboard, taking a sharp breath again. “You’ve probably heard it before, but the trick is to pretend like you know exactly what you’re doing. You just really have to believe in it. And that everyone in the room is naked.” You don’t notice the way that his eyes travel down your body when he says “naked.”
He makes a big show of playing Chopsticks, but he can’t hide his laughter. Neither can you. By the time he’s finished, you are collapsed over the keys, doubled over in laughter. Yoongi stands from the bench and takes a bow. If you weren’t still so nervous, you might have noticed the flush on his cheeks, creeping down into his collar.
“Thank you, thank you.” He pouts. “Where’s my applause?”
You clap your hands for him, greatly exaggerating the motion. “Bravo, bravo,” wiping fake tears from your eyes.
When the laughter fades away, and your heart has calmed down, the silence settles in again. You want to flee, worried that you’ll end up saying the wrong thing. You get up from the bench, stretching your legs a little, not missing how tired your body is. You pick up your case.
Yoongi can’t hide the disappointed expression on his face. “Oh, are you leaving?” He checks the time on his wristwatch. “It is pretty late after all…”
You check the time as well, shocked at the hour. You must have slept longer than you thought, or maybe spending time with Yoongi flew by. “I should be getting back to the dorm, I have early classes tomorrow.”
“Do you live on campus?” Yoongi gets up as well, putting his hands in his pockets, “I could walk you back, it’s not really safe to be walking alone at this hour…”
“Yeah, I live on campus.” You sling your backpack over your shoulder and hug your case to your chest. At this proximity, Yoongi seems a lot taller than you had previously thought. “And that would be really nice. Do you live on campus? I don’t want to make you walk too far.”
“I live in an apartment close to campus, walking distance. It’s really not too much.” Both of you head for the door, exiting the music building into the harsh winter chill. You hug your case a little closer to you, shivering in your thin sweatshirt.
The walk back to your dorm is shorter than you would like, and you are back before you know it. Yoongi distracts you from the bitter chill with his voice on the way back, regaling you with tales of how he discovered what Taehyung was doing with Jungkook, the resident bassoonist, on the couch that you were sleeping on just hours ago.
“Ugh, gross. I’ll never be able to look at the couch the same.” You wrinkle your face in disgust.
You turn around to face him at the staircase in front of your dorm. “So, um, thanks for walking me back.”
You really don’t know what to say to him, so you settle for, “That was fun.”
So that’s all there was. It’d be a lie to say that you weren’t a little disappointed that you couldn’t talk to him more, turn this into something more. But you got what you wanted, didn’t you? You got to talk to him for longer than three seconds, and now the night is over. It seems like he’s forgotten your previous practice room blunder. You turn around again, key in hand. You wonder what else you might have been able to say to him, if maybe you were just a bit braver.
“Bye,” you say, but it comes out as a tired whisper.
“Wait.” His hand closes over the slope of your shoulder, so gentle and featherlight, but your tired body stumbles back anyway.
“Could I-could I maybe… get your number? You should… you should let me return the favor sometime. You can hear me play, if you want to.” When you turn around again, the same pleading, asking expression is back. You follow the movement that his hand makes when he runs his hand through his hair, settling on the nape of his neck. He looks unsure. Like before, you would give anything to see that expression on his face again.
“Silly goose, I’ve already heard you play,” You play coy, but both you and Yoongi can see through it.
“Ha. Ha. I mean really, you should hear me play something a little more difficult. You should see what these hands can really do.” He waggles his fingers, and there’s relief in his eyes when he hears your answering laugh.
“That sounds good. Sure, you can have my number.” Yoongi hands you his phone and you type your number in.
“Goodnight, Yoongi.”
“Goodnight, y/n.”

&   if   there’s   one   thing   hyejin   learned   it’s   that   practice   makes   perfect.   by   the   age   of   11   she   managed   to   become   an   extremely   valuable   asset   for   her   school’s   yearly   musicals   as   she   composed   about   60%   of   the   songs   performed   <33
she   went   viral   on   social   media   a   few   times   as   well,   her   youtube   channel   accumulating   about   1.6M   views   by   her   4th   upload.   she   would   frequently   get   interviewed   around   that   time   as   well,   with   professionals   often   commenting   on   hyejin’s   bright   future

her   brother   getting   injured   on   tv   was   a   catalyst   of   change.   hyejin   convinced   her   parents   to   let   her   move   to   new   york   in   order   to   take   care   of   him,   being   well   aware   her   life   had   considerably   dulled   the   moment   he   decided   to   leave   a   few   years   prior
the   move   went   smoothly,   &   with   opportunities   lining   up   in   front   of   her,   she   decided   to   get   a   bachelor’s   degree   in   music   composition,   her   accomplishments   allowing   her   to   attend   one   of   the   most   prestige   universities   in   the   city
it’s   there   where   she   fell   in   love   with   a   guy   who   she   deemed   to   be   a   mentor   of   sorts  ;  always   pushing   her   to   do   better   &   achieve   unattainable   perfection.   it   had   been   so   easy   for   hyejin   to   trust   him   with   her   work,   with   him   appearing   to   be   the   more   experienced   &   wiser   of   the   two.   he   was   a   child   of   a   famous   musician   after   all,   mastering   the   arts   of   sweet   talking   unassuming   girls   with   a   whole   lot   of   empty   promises
so   when   their   uni   announced   a   proposal   of   a   student   being   able   to   apply   for   an   internship   that   would   skyrocket   their   careers   right   into   stardom,   hyejin   was   well   aware   this   was   an   opportunity   that   couldn’t   be   missed.   her   boyfriend   mentioned   how   he   wouldn’t   apply,   seeing   his   father   could   offer   him   a   job  easily,   but   mentioned   how   she   should   send   her   work   to   him   so   he   could   look   it   over   &  help   her   out
😬
“  hey   babe,   i’m   sorry   to   tell   you   this   but   the   piece   you   sent   me   just   isn’t   that   good…   i   can’t   quite   put   my   finger   on   it,   but   the   composition   is   just   wrong.   it’s   okay,   though,   you’re   only   a   freshman   &   still   have   a   lot   to   learn,   we’ll   work   on   it   together.   but   maybe   forget   about   the   internship   for   now   ?   i’m   sure   with   some   improvement   my   father   will   manage   to   get   you   an   even   better   job…   anyways,   love   you,   talk   to   you   soon   ”
crestfallen   &   humiliated,   hyejin   accepted   the   fact   that   it   would   be   simply   too   embarrassing   to   submit   the   sheets   of   music   she’d   written.   it   was   two   weeks   later   that   her   boyfriend   abruptly   ghosted   her,   only   for   her   to   find   out   he’d   gotten   the   internship   by   applying   with   the   composed   music   she   sent   him.   he   denied   any   claims   of   stealing,   &   when   hyejin   told   her   professor   about   the   situation   he   basically   wrote   it   off   as   well

(Chapter 6)
Chapter 7: Sebastian, New Keepsake
It wasn’t rare to see Sam so worked up. He was always energetic and rarely ever kept his energy in check. Entering his friend’s room, Sebastian noticed he was practically vibrating from excitement. He just wouldn’t stop fidgeting with his guitar, his leg bouncing almost rhythmically.
“Hey, Sam.” Sebastian greeted his friend nonchalantly from his bedroom door.
“Seb!” Sam exclaimed, putting his guitar on his bed and excitedly ran toward his friend. He almost reminded Sebastian of an overly excited puppy. “You’ll never guess what happened!”
Sebastian pretended to ponder, eyes wandering the room for nothing in particular. “You finally asked out Penny?” He finally said, his voice laced in amusement.
Sam looked slightly taken aback, “Wha—no! Not that!” He punched his friend in the arm before continuing, “I got us a gig!”
Now it was Sebastian’s turn to look stunned. He wasn’t expecting that. He was used to Sam making plans but never really committing to them. He’d say he was going to do something one day, then completely change his plans the next. It was an endless cycle. So, when his friend said he’d try to book them a music gig almost a month ago, Sebastian didn’t think much of it. He was willing to admit that he underestimated Sam. But then again…
“That’s great.” Sebastian said, though his words didn’t match his skeptical tone, “But—”
“No!” Sam coved his ears, shaking his head, “You’re not allowed to be a killjoy about this one!”
Sebastian rolled his eyes at his friend’s antics. “I was going to say,” He gave Sam a pointed look, “That’s great, but we don’t have any finished songs—”
Sam groaned at that, plopping face-first into his bed. “Please don’t remind me!” His muffled voice said in annoyance.
“And,” Sebastian ignored him, “We still don’t have a drummer.”
Sam was silent, body unmoving. He was still for so long, Sebastian wondered if perhaps his friend had suffocated himself and passed out. The only thing that gave away that his friend were conscious was the slight twitch of his finger.
“You know,” Sebastian had made his way over to his friend’s bed, sitting on the edge, “Abigail plays drums. We could always just ask her.”
Sam groaned again, face never leaving his mattress. How was he even breathing?
“Abby’s always busy with school.” Sam’s muffled voice said, “She rarely has time for practice.”
Sebastian hummed, “Isn’t summer break coming up for her?”
Sam didn’t answer, only peeking one eye from where he was laying.
“She should have plenty of time for practice over the summer.” Said Sebastian, not really waiting for Sam’s response. For a fraction of a second, he thought about asking Sam if he knew about Abigail’s new friendship with Maru but decided to keep that to himself. That’s just something he’d have to ask Abigail himself. He also didn’t want to know if Sam knew more about it than he did. The idea of Sam and Abigail keeping secrets from him just didn’t sit right with him. He’d rather be blissfully unaware if that were the case.
“Fiiiiiine.” Sam gave an over-exaggerated groan before flipping over on his bed, “I’ll ask Abby. And then maybe we could work on finishing a few songs.”
Before Sebastian could come up with a response, the sound of someone knocking on Sam’s bedroom door caught everyone’s attention.
      "Come in!” Sam called out.
At first, Sebastian was expecting it to be Jodi or Vincent—Sam’s mother and younger brother— but he was surprised to see a familiar mop of tight brown curls and shimmering green eyes.
“Luna!?” Sam sounded just as surprised, “What are you doing here?”
She looked a little sheepish as she shot them a soft smile. “I’m sorry,” She looked genuinely apologetic, “I was making a delivery, and your mom sent me. She wants to talk to you.”
Sam nodded in understanding, jumping to his feet with a stretch. He made his way over to the door, giving Luna a bright smile, “Alright, I’ll be right there.” He gave her a pat on the shoulder, perhaps to calm her nerves, before leaving the room. Reassuring others and making them feel more welcomed was like a special talent to Sam, Sebastian noticed. He always seemed to know all the right ways to calm someone without making them uncomfortable. It was a talent Sebastian wished he had at this very moment because now he was alone with Luna once again. He didn’t dislike being alone with her. He just felt like he couldn’t get a read on her. Sometimes she seemed timid and a little shy. But then at other moments she seemed downright playful. Perhaps she was still warming up to him.
“I wasn’t excepting to see you here too.” It was Luna who broke the silence. She was standing by the door, eyeing him curiously.
“Yeah.” Sebastian shrugged, “Me and Sam usually meet up here for band practice.”
Her eyes, if possible, grew brighter, “You’re in a band?”
“Um,” Sebastian rubbed the nape of his neck, gaze finally meeting hers, “Sort of. It’s just the two of us.”
She smiled at that, “I see.”
He didn’t know what to say to that. He wreaked his brain for anything to say, but he was drawing a blank.
      “So, what do you play?”
He was so grateful that she was the one reviving the conversation. “The keyboard,” He answered as smoothly as he could muster.
That seemed to have caught her attention, “Really? Are you self-taught?”
“Kind of…” He answered unsure, causing Luna to tilt her head in confusion. “I mean, I had piano lessons in middle school.” He clarified, “Dropped them around high school. Decided to teach myself the rest since then.”
She nodded in understanding. “I get that. I took violin since elementary school.” She stated, “I wanted to drop it around high school too, but my mom never allowed it.” She shook her head with a light chuckle, but Sebastian could see, if only for a split second, that there was no mirth behind her eyes. Just as quickly as it came, it disappeared and was replaced with a half-smile, “Perhaps we could collab some time.”
He couldn’t help but snicker at that, “Didn’t realize we had a professional musician here.”
“Well…” The playful glint in her eyes grew brighter as a small smirk graced her face, “Don’t want to brag or anything, but I did win third place in my school talent show. So, I am kind of a big deal.”
Sebastian whistled, “Third place? Impressive. Don’t tell Sam, or he’ll never stop bothering you to join our band.”
Luna laughed at that, “Sorry, but I’m retired from music. And I don’t know how well an acoustic violin would sound in a band.”
Before Sebastian could make a comment, the door opened, and Sam entered the room. “Sorry ‘bout that!” He exclaimed, “But now we can get back to practice!”
Luna nodded in Sam’s direction before giving Sebastian a smile, “Well, I’ll be seeing you boys later than. Wouldn’t want to be a distraction.” She waved goodbye and made her way out the door.
Sam looked to the door, then to Sebastian. His easy-going smile morphed into something smug, “So, you and Luna gettin’ along now?”
He didn’t know why that comment made him feel self-conscious. He just decided to shrug Sam off and fiddled with his pockets, “I guess…” He tried to sound casual about it. It’s not like he and Luna were fighting before or anything. They just had… unfortunate first impressions. But before Sam could get the chance to question him further about it, he seemed to suddenly remember the reason they’re in his room in the first place. Perhaps Sam’s mind was jumping to the next subject lined up in his brain of cue cards at light speed. Sam tended to do that a lot. Ever since the two were kids, Sam would bounce from subject to subject, not really caring about carrying on a one-sided conversation. Currently, he was on a ramble about the songs they needed to work on and get finished.
Letting his mind wander, Sebastian started playing on his keyboard mindlessly. His mind brought him back to when Luna was talking about playing the violin. Something about her voice sounded bitter, and he wondered why.
                                                              ...
The lake always felt so peaceful at night. It was a full moon that night, and the way the lunar light sparkled on the ripples of the waters was mesmerizing. The sounds of night echoed through Sebastian’s ears, setting his mind at ease. He was taking a smoke break by the lake that was next to his house. Working close to a deadline was always a stressful event, and it didn’t help that his current client was starting to become anxious. Which, in turn, also put Sebastian on edge. This would be the last time he lets Sam talk him out of work.
Empty promises, a voice in the back of his head nagged. He was pretty sure he had uttered those same words before. Perhaps he’ll just stop answering his phone when he was too busy. But that probably wouldn’t stop his blond friend from bursting through his door for an unannounced visit. Just the very thought made Sebastian already feel exasperated.
He was brought out of his train of thought by the sound of a tree branch snapping. Sebastian’s eyes snapped up to the source of the sound, a small bit of panic rushing over him. He calmed down when he saw where—or rather who—the sound was coming from. Farmer Luna had made her way out of the mines that were close to his house. She had a pickaxe in hand, a sword at her hip, and a backpack full of… rocks? She was dressed in her typical overalls and heavy looking mountain boots. Her wild curls were kept in place in her usual ponytail. As she stepped into the glow of the moonlight, he noticed she was covered in dirt and her overalls were stained with slim. Despite that, she still managed to smile when their eyes met.
“Oh hey!” She greeted him as she picked up the pace to meet him. He stayed in his spot, nodding in her direction. He was in a sour mood and didn’t trust his words enough to speak.
“I was just thinking about you.” She said, almost too casually.
“Huh?” He eyed her; a bit taken aback by her statement.
She seemed to have realized what she’d just said, her features melting into a slight panic, “Oh, I meant, uh…” She averted her gaze, eyes focused on the lake. Her hands fished through her pockets. Her face relaxed when she found whatever she was looking for. She finally met his gaze, almost sheepishly. “I saw this, and I just… thought of you?” She held something in her closed hand, holding it closer to him. He stared at it for a fraction of a second, his brain not exactly catching up with the current situation. The sound of a nearby frog croaking brought him out of his stupor. He opened his hand and allowed her to place whatever she was holding into his open palm. Whatever it was, it was light and cool to the touch. Taking a closer look, he realized it was a quartz. It shimmered in an array of colors under the dazzling moonlight.
“Huh. I really like this.” He said simply, still in awe from receiving the small token, “Thanks.”
That statement seemed to make her smile, and instantly Sebastian felt his sour mood melt right off him. Her smile was almost blinding. He looked to the lake to distract himself. Clearing his throat, he asked, “What about this made you think about me?” He had to admit; he was curious. Looking at the quartz, there was nothing about it that would fit his outward aesthetic. He did like to collect gems from the mines on days he was feeling bored, but surly Luna didn’t know that.
She looked surprised by his question, eyes avoiding his gaze. The gesture looked almost timed. Finally, she looked up at him, the previous shyness had washed over and was replaced with a teasing look of defiance, “That’s a secret.” She whispered, so low he almost didn’t hear her. But he did. And he couldn’t help it, but he allowed a tiny chuckle to escape his lips. “Alright.” He surrendered, “Keep your secrets. I’ll find out eventually.”
The tips of Luna’s lips twitched into a smirk, “We’ll see about that.” The two stood side by side, the sounds of the lake soothing their senses. For the first time since the two had been alone together, the silence wasn’t awkward. No, it was comfortable. Calming. A sweet blanket of peace washed over them. It was nice. They stood there, in their peaceful silence, with only each other and the moon’s light as company. All good things must eventually come to an end, of course. Sebastian knew that. But he couldn’t help but feel just a little disappointed when she said, “It’s getting late. I should go.”
He didn’t look at her. He simply put his cigarette to his lips and shrugged, “Yeah…”
With that, she left. Walking down the path that leads to her farm, she didn’t hesitate to turn around and give him a small wave goodbye. He gave her a wave of his own and that seemed to satisfy her. As he watched her disappear, it was like a magic spell had been lifted. He suddenly remembered why he was outside in the first place. That’s right, he was procrastinating. He groaned when he remembered his long night of work that was ahead of him. He looked to the cool quartz he still held in his hand. Perhaps it could bring back that calming peace he enjoyed but only a few seconds ago.

TUA music/instrument headcanon
Okay so vanya is a violin protegee but also what if all the kids had to have music lessons of some sort. Reginald wanted them to be cultured and teach them discipline and also not embarrass him in high society (all of which failed)
Luther - he tried a bunch of different instruments but was never very good. he was too strong and usually ended up breaking whatever he was playing. he always wanted to be a really good guitar player but the strings always break. When he gets older he mostly just likes listening to records and (very gently) practicing on a little ukulele in his room. he takes it to the moon with him and actually gets pretty good at it, but he’s too shy to show anyone. (can you guys imagine tom hopper in his big muscle suit playing a tiny ukulele like grace vanderwaal? my heart)
Diego - absolutely doesn’t have the patience or desire to learn the an instrument. he once filed down the reed of a clarinet and threw it at someone. but during music lessons he gets really into the rhythm and starts dancing. he copies moves he’s seen on fresh prince and gets really good. he sometimes sneaks out to go to break dancing contests downtown. he also learns how to beat-box there. he doesn’t want reginald to know but he does show Mom. She smiles and claps every time he does a cool move. Diego only pretends that it embarrasses him.
Allison - is a naturally gifted singer and wants to be on Broadway when she’s older. at lessons she’s only allowed to sing classic musical theater and show tunes, but when she’s just hanging out with her siblings she sings everything on the current top 40. She’s also really into the spice girls and tries to get Diego to do the dances with her. as an adult she does a couple local musicals before getting picked up for blockbuster action movies. she kinda misses singing on stage.
Klaus - has the worst time trying to focus during music lessons. mostly he just bangs around on the piano until he gets distracted. but while his other siblings play music he starts writing in his journal (the one he supposed to write about ghosts in). anyway, theyre just random thoughts he has set to a melody, but after a couple months they start to come together into songs. he fills up his journal (Reginald: “number four, what is all this nonsense?”) and then starts writing everywhere, in the margins of books, his bedroom walls, on his arms, etc. he never sings them but he likes the way they sound in his head.
Five - actually enjoys music class because he gets to hang out with vanya. he gets pretty good at the clarinet and they do weird jazz riff duets. then diego uses his clarinet as a weapon and Five holds a grudge about it for 40 years. Also while in the apocalypses he finds a clarinet in the rubble of a middle school. it’s dented and off-key, but Delores says it sounds nice so he plays it sometimes.
Ben - also enjoys music class but only when he gets to practice alone. he likes playing soft, calming songs on the piano. he’s not the best at it but he really likes being able to relax and focus on the music. he doesn’t use his tentacles as extra hands to play even though everyone tells him he should. after he dies he sits at the piano sometimes and asks Klaus to play certain notes. When klaus isn’t too high to function he tries, but it never sounds as good as when Ben would play it. Ben appreciates it anyway.
Vanya - plays her violin but also assists the music teachers (they get a new one every couple weeks because they keep quitting). She has a really good ear for pitch, so she cringes everytime something sounds bad. Mostly the other kids don’t listen to her, but sometimes she helps luther relax his tense grip on the guitar, or helps Allison get on key for high notes, or distracts the teacher so diego can practice dancing in the dining room and klaus can sit in the corner to write, and then she sits with ben and Five and they practice together.
Bonus!
Sissy: can play like 3 songs on a dime-store harmonica. Vanya and Harlan sit at her feet and listen like it’s a concert. Vanya stares at her with heart eyes.
Dave: In Vietnam he mentions that he kinda knows how to play the guitar (learned in high school). when Klaus hears that he starts writing yearning ballads that would sound good with an acoustic guitar (like the entire folklore album, because i am a dork).
Ray: Sang in the local church choir as a kid. When allison voice fully heals they sing 50′s songs acapella and dance in the kitchen at night
Lila: Surprisingly really good flautist. Diego beatboxxes and she plays the flute while they jam out to bad 90′s hip-hop
Delores: can carry a tune, according to Five

To play again - Luka Appreciation Week Day 1
So I’ve kinda given up on ML, just in terms in how they treat their charaecters and such, but I still love Luka and I thought I should at least write something for him for @lukacouffaineappreciation event. I was trying to think of an idea and I’m not fully familar with the story for the Ballet AU where Luka plays violin, so I went a different direction, Shugo Chara and Ikuto. Black Diamond is one of my fav songs from the show and I thought it fit with Kitty Section, if it being a softer version compared to their hardcore stuff. I’ll admit, halfway through I remembered the song Inviciable by Escape the Fate with Lindsey Stirling which fit them better but I still wanted to do this one, even though we don’t actually see them sing it in this fic. Anyway, I did find a French version of Black Diamon, though it’s more rock and doesn’t have the violin. Someone had taken the cover and dropped it on top of the actual song and it didn’t sound right, but just so you can get an idea of it. This is the French cover and just so you know what the actual song sounds like, check this out. Violin
Luka didn’t know how the knowledge about him playing violin suddenly making him an ok person for Adrien to associate with, at least according to the model’s father. But here he was, instead of having to wait until Adrien was essentially alone or sneak out of his lessons to come hang out with his friends, he was currently being led to Adrien’s room by his father’s assistant.
Nathalie knocked on the door, “Adrien?”
“Come in!”
She opened the door and Luka followed. He spotted Adrien sitting at his computer watching something.
“I thought you were supposed to be practising?” she asked.
“Luka?” Adrien answered instead, noticing the rocker in his room.
“Yes, M. Couffaine was asked by your father to practise your latest song with you. he said it sounded better with a violin and M. Couffaine attends an illustrious music school so he was perfect. You two will start immediately.”
“Does this mean, he can come to my place to practise? My mom knows Jagged Stone if getting a classical piano is an issue.” Luka asked.
“We shall see. If you’ll excuse me.”
When the door closed behind Nathalie, Adrien got up from his desk.
“Happy to see me?” Luka asked.
“Always. But what are you doing here? What was she talking about, illustrious music school? Aren’t you home schooled?”
Luka shrugged. “I am, but it’s through the same school. They’re the ones who grade my exams and such. I did attend it but during one of my exams, I happened to start playing one of the proctor’s heart song and then turned it into jam session when it occurred to me at that moment how much happier I felt playing that one heart song compared to the massively long piece I’d practised and slaved over for weeks. Mom decided it’d be better for everyone if I was home schooled. Thankfully the school offered to still treat me like a student, since I worked so hard to get in and was one of the best students.”
Adrien raised an eyebrow, taking Luka in. it was hard to imagine the guy with dyed hair, piercings and a pretty literal pirate for a mom attending a ridged music school. But if being away from it made him happier, and also allowed the two to meet, he couldn’t complain.
“Well here’s hoping my dad doesn’t find out. This is gonna make piano lessons so much more fun.”
“Well, it’s more like, have time to practise with you for Kitty Section. Even though you are a part time member, you’re still a member. We’re doing a mini concert for your class and anyone else who’s interested. Would you like to join us?”
Adrien brightened at the thought of playing with his friends. “Absolutely! What are we gonna play?”
“Can I borrow your computer? I sent the piano music sheets to myself and we have a small playlist on Spotify since Rose has been having a bit of trouble writing songs, we’re doing a lot of covers.”
“Sure.” Adrien let Luka sit in his computer chair and watched as he opened an incognito tab, not commenting on the anime he’d been watching when Nathalie came in. his eyes drifted to the violin case, sitting on the desk. Like his guitar, Luka’s case was covered in stickers.
Adrien loved all musical instruments, though the piano held a special place in his heart. The violin though, seemed so cool. Granted he still had trouble figuring out what was the difference between a violin and a viola, other than don’t ask if you don’t know cause the owners get annoyed about it. He watched Lindsey Stirling jump around her stage playing it, violin covers always sounded cool, especially on electric violins. Then there was the guy he’d admit he tried to emulate as Chat. Ikuto Tsukiyomi from Shugo Chara.
“Here we go.” Luka said, bring Adrien back, “Here’s the playlist. It’s a bit all over the place at the moment, we can’t decide what we want to go for since Rose really wants to have at least one of our songs on it. If you have any suggestions, by all means.”
“Do you play your violin often?” Adrien asked.
“Um, not totally. I mean, I do to still keep in practise, but not like in an orchestra or anything. Very rarely do I play it when the family is jamming.”
“Would you be opposed to playing it in Kitty Section?”
Luka was curious were this was going. “Why?”
Adrien leaned over, taking the mouse from the older boy. “Well, you don’t have to say yes and it would be work to switch the language over, which I can do by myself if need be, but I thought this song would be kinda cool to try this.”
He pulled up Black Diamond from the Shugo Chara anime. He could have also tried Tsukiyo no Marionette, but he felt like this one fit better with the band. He watched Luka listen, no doubt not fully understanding since it was in Japanese but he was tapping his finger on the table so Adrien had hope.
“This actually sounds good. It’s from one of your animes isn’t it?” the rocker slightly teased.
“Yeah, Shugo Chara. You should ask Rose about it. I introduced it to her and she loved it. Do you think the others would go for it? Would you even want to play it?”
Luka listened more, listening how the violin blended with guitars and drums, not out of place. It reminded him of how he wanted his music to feel back when he attended school. Maybe it was because of life with his mom, but when he got into that school, he thought he’d be able to play the way he wanted. Instead, they were trying to shot out numerous copies of this type A, perfect musician who only played classical. As much as he loved his guitar, and the chances to try out his harp skill on his lyre as Viperion, he really missed playing his violin.
“There’s also Invincible by Escape the Fate, Lindsey Stirling is featured on there. It’s more Kitty Sections style.” Adrien said, when Luka hadn’t said anything.
“I know of the song. It’s not in Rose’s key and it doesn’t feature keys and we want you there. But we’ll definitely add it to the list in case we decide to do it. I’ll run this song by the others and see what they think. How quick do you think you could transpose this?”
“Anything to get me away from playing classics for the next 2 hours.”
                                              ____________________
Juleka listened to the music that sounded vaguely familiar from when she’d watched the show with her girlfriend, but she was paying more attention to Luka. because their mom thrived on music and noise, from a very young age, both she and her older brother were taught many instruments. Luka took to them way more, a near prodigy at stringed instruments but she remembered guitar and violin battling for his favourite. After he left that school, he’d put his violin back in its box and shoved it away, only ever checking it to make sure it was still in tune and the bow didn’t need to be replaced. So watching him change the strings like he did after days of practise.
“You know, not that I’m mad about it, but I’m surprised you agreed to this. Playing your violin in the band.” Juleka said, as Luka plucked at each string to see if it was finally in tune. He’d forgotten how much he hated restringing his violin.
“I know. I’m a bit surprised to, but.” Luka shrugged, pulling out the shoulder rest. “The song just works with it and it fits with what I wanted to do before I went to that school. I mean, I’m doing whatever I want in terms of music now, why does the violin have to be exempt from that?”
Juleka flashed a small smile to her brother. “I’m glad. I missed you playing around the house. As long as it’s not classics 24/7 again, play to your hearts content. Though, now I really think we should do Invincible.”
“See if you can get Adrien to help you transpose it in a lower key for Rose and you’ve got a deal.”
“Fine. But we wear outfits like the band in the show does.”
Luka furrowed his face. He hated the late-night sunglasses look. The thing he did so he could play violin, it never stopped, just evolved. Expect now he didn’t mind this one.

Ohshc Au Idea
- Ohshc Au where they all go to art school (both performing and drawing and stuff y’know (is it called visual??))
- Sort of like the same vibe as that show on Netflix called Backstage
- The school would be one of those super prestigious art schools like the Juilliard of their universe
- Tamaki would obviously be there to study piano
- he’d spend hours in the practice rooms and all of the other pianists hate him because he’s got some sort of superhuman power when it comes to booking practice rooms before anyone else
- Kyoya would be vocal performance with a minor in Broadway type acting (help I don’t know the actual terms)
- here I go again rambling about my Kyoya can sing headcanon that I will go down with
-Babey boy would probably be known as one of those people who can sing anything throughout the school
- Everyone from school can tell his voice apart from everyone else’s
- like if they walk past a practice room and hear him singing inside they can tell instantly that it’s him
- like picture this: a senior is giving a freshman a tour of the college and they walk past the practice rooms and inside practice room 3 the Freshman can hear someone singing in the best voice that they have ever heard. The freshman says to the senior with starstruck eyes “Who’s that??” “Ahh” the senior says “That’s Kyoya Ootori, he’s kind of a legend around here”
- Hikaru would be a Shakespearean type actor
- Like he has whole ass monologues on the tip of his tongue at any given moment
- He’s a super good actor however he can’t sing for shit so he could never be in a musical
- He’s secretly jealous because Kyoya can sing so well
- They’re secretly jealous of each other
-Kyoya wishes he could act as well as Hikaru and Hikaru wishes he could sing as well as Kyoya
- Kaoru would be the one to take over their mother’s business and would study fashion and clothing design
- Even though Hikaru is the eldest he had no interest in the family business and decided to pursue acting instead
- Luckily for the Hitachiin family Kaoru took to clothing design from a very early age
- He makes clothes for the rest of the hosts on a regular basis
-He makes all of the clothes that the hosts wear for their performances and art galleries and whatnot
- The drama department loves him because he makes all of their costumes
- Mori would be a sketch artist, a painter, and a sculptor
- He’d basically do everything in the art department from drawing to welding metal figures
- he doesn’t talk much so he communicates through his art as cheesy as that sounds
- He constantly has either paint on his clothes, clay under his nails, or both at the same time
- People in the general public are slightly concerned when he opens his bag and they see a blowtorch inside
- His metal sculptures are littered all across campus
- Some of these sculptures include but are not limited to: A giant replica of Mary Poppins, Patti Lupone (Kyoya legit cried when he saw this one), and a giant metal spider that the students have so aptly named Kenneth
- Kenneth lives on top of the Art building
- Despite the fact that he’s an art student he really loves showtunes and gets really excited to see/hear Kyoya sing them
- Honey is a culinary arts student
- His specialty is (obviously) desserts
- He makes the prettiest cakes and the most delicious meals
- He has to stand on a step ladder to make those giant wedding type cakes
- He constantly smells like a bakery... like constantly
- Haruhi is a violinist
- she treats her violin like a baby. She even keeps it in the child seat part of the cart when she goes to the grocery store
- She goes to the school on a violin scholarship
- She plays a cheap violin she got from a small music store when she was ten with her birthday/Christmas money that she had been saving for years
- The way she plays that cheap little violin you’d think it was a super nice expensive one
- She’s mostly self taught
- When she was young she couldn’t afford lessons so she taught herself to play
- She only began to take lessons when she got to high school
- I imagine when she isn’t playing classical for school her playing sounds a lot like Ada Pasternak
- Ada Pasternak Video: https://youtu.be/YQSzk44hBmk
undefined
youtube
- when they don’t live in the dorms they rent a fairly large house that they all live in together (like that house that Sam Golbach, Colby Brock, Corey Scherer, Aaron Doh, Devyn Lundy, Jake Webber, and Elton Castee lived in together)
- Tamaki has a whole ass grand piano in his room
- Nobody’s really sure how he got it in there
- He also has a keyboard that he brings around the house for jam sessions with the other hosts
- They have jam sessions in the living room
- Tamaki brings down his keyboard or he plays the little theatre piano that sits in their living room
- Haruhi brings down her little violin that she loves with all of her heart Kyoya would sing with them
- They’d do stuff like that Ada Pasternak video I put earlier in this post except instead of Haruhi singing it would be Kyoya
- Mori’s room legitimately would not be a bedroom
- It would be an art studio with a Mori sized bed in the corner and a theatre style clothing rack next to it
- he has like four easels all around the room and a desk covered in drawing pads, pencils, ink markers, colored pencils, oil paint, and random multicolored stains
- In the middle of the room he has a raised platform with whatever sculpture he’s currently working on sitting on top of it
- He has a shelf with all sorts of supplies in it
- He has like three different blowtorches, a huge array of paint brushes, different sharp things for his clay sculptures, hammers, a bunch of books on the history of art, and a dirty paint and clay covered apron with random burn holes in it
- Kyoya has like a whole arsenal of throat coat teas and herbal things in his room as well as a kettle and a hot plate
- In the corner he built a small room that only has room for one average sized person to go inside and coated the inside with sound proof padding and that’s where he practices belting and other different vocal techniques
- Kyoya absolutely loves their giant bathroom
- The acoustic qualities make him really excited he loves to sing in there
- Kyoya, Tamaki, and Haruhi sometimes jam in their fantastically acoustic bathroom because they are attracted to good acoustics the same way a moth is attracted to a bright light
- Hikaru has a whole library of scripts in his room
- like his bookshelves are just overflowing with scripts from all the plays he’s been in
- Some books on Shakespeare and the ins and outs of acting are scattered around the bookshelf too but it’s mostly scripts
- On his desk he keeps the script from the show that he’s currently in right in the middle of his desk with a pencil cup in the corner full of pens and highlighters
- He has a huge bulletin board in his room filled with pictures from different shows and different print outs of his favorite monologues and whatnot
- Kaoru’s room is similar to Mori’s in the sense that it’s barely a bedroom at all
- He has a small bed and a small dresser and the rest of the space is filled with his work
- He has a huge desk that is covered in scraps of fabric, scissors, and measuring tape
- He has a HUGE pin cushion in the corner that would be an absolute hazard if it fell to the ground
- Above his desk is a giant bulletin board similar to Hikaru’s except his is less of a collage and more of an idea board
- It’s full of sketches for new designs and has the occasional magazine clipping or inspirational quote
- Honey basically lives in the kitchen
- His room only has a bed and a dresser and a few ginormous bookshelves
- on these bookshelves are countless numbers of cookbooks
- 90% of what’s on these bookshelves is actually just regular notebooks and journal type things full of recipes that Honey has come up with himself
- The kitchen is HIS domain none of the other hosts ever use it other than to get the occasional glass of water or snack here and there
- They basically eat gourmet every night
- He cooks all of their meals and uses them as his guinea pigs
- Luckily for them 99% of the time his food is absolutely delicious
- Their house is full of just bits and pieces of what they do
- Mori’s artwork decorates the entire place
- The centerpiece for their table is a bouquet of metal flowers that Mori made
- His paintings decorate the walls and some of his sculptures sit as decorations in some of the different rooms
- There is sheet music literally all over the house
- nobody bats an eye when hey find the crescendo piece of a classical violin song on the kitchen table
- or when they find the lyrics to a classical opera song jammed in between the couch cushions
- Kaoru will often use Haruhi as his model for his dresses
- he’ll have her put on a tank top and bike shorts and literally build a dress onto her body and by the end she’s walking around the house in a whole ass Victorian style ballgown
- God help their house if Kyoya gets sick before a performance
- The amount of throat coat tea he consumes is absolutely unreal
- He has a little table with shelves behind it in his room with a tea kettle and a hot plate on it
- on the shelves behind it are boxes upon boxes of throat coat and herbal tea and a whole arsenal of mugs
- The house always smells like cooking food because Honey lives in the kitchen and is always cooking something or other
-When it doesn’t smell like food it smells like burning metal because Mori is always working on some sort of metal sculpture with one of his countless blowtorches
- This boy legit keeps a fire extinguisher in his bedroom in case he sets something on fire with said blowtorch
- Christmas season is absolutely wonderful in their house
- Tamaki and Haruhi are playing Christmas songs
- Kyoya is singing them
- Honey is making all sorts of festive dishes (You should see him on Thanksgiving he goes absolutely ham (pun intended))
- Kaoru is making festive outfits
- Mori makes each and every one of their Christmas decorations
- and Hikaru is practicing his lines for the production of A Christmas Carol that he’s in every year (This is his fourth time playing Scrooge!)
- But all in all this is a house where creativity flourishes and they all boost each other’s creativity to the max
- and of course they all graduate and become extremely successful and stay close knit forever
BONUS:
- Renge is also a vocalist she performs with Kyoya very often
- Kasanoda is a ballet student
- People are surprised he does something so graceful and elegant because he looks scary but when you really think about it it fits his personality
- Nekozawa is a poet (Edgar Allan Poe 2.0)
