Damian takes a glance at you, eyebrow raised in confusion “Who’s Perla?” He questions.

And just as you were about to answer a soft squeak comes from his shoulder, and a white small mouse stands still. Your other hand is brought up and a finger rubs against the white fur.

okok it's that time of the week time to air my grievances about fandom!!

the obsession with making the al ghuls comically abusive towards damian so bruce or dick can feel angsty and sad about it and then give a tonguelashing to talia is so prevalent and annoying and racist.

I just want Damian to have a good relationship with his parents. I want Bruce to be a good father to Damian (and preferably admit his mistakes and apologize, but it's Bruce we're talking about), I want him to have a mother-son bonding with Talia, I want him to carry out Al Ghul legacy to make world a better place for animals and plants and all other living beings. I want him to go on adventures with Jon (and be husbands 😌) and I want him to reunite with Maya and Suren and Colin.

I don't want to see him in a scenario where he gets beat up, "humbled down", "thought a lesson" or whatever. Even though I absolutely love magical Damian, I just want him to see solve crimes and bond with his parents and friends, as Robin, the mantle he never got to carry freely.

Catlad!Tim makes Ra'sTim better

First of all, we go from a mere "Ra's is in love with the adoptive son of the ex boyfriend of his daughter" to "this son also dresses as the new wife of Talia's ex boyfriend" passing by "Tim is Damian's adoptive siblings and he dresses like their stepmom."

It's wonderful.

And like, in my mind this scenario in particular is a post Red Robin scenario, where Tim has an intense fight with the bats and decides to take a different path, becoming Selina's teammate and expressing his queerness openly with someone who understands him (plus Selina admits she has maternal feelings for Tim). Eventually Tim sort of fixed his relationship with the bats but stayed as Catlad/Stray anyway, living in his own penthouse surrounded by the cats Selina had to leave when marrying Bruce.

And this is when things with Ra's get spicy; sure, Ra's knew that Timothy had left the Red Robin mantle behind and taken a new one, following the steps of Catwoman. However, Ra's had never faced Tim in the field again, and the first time they see each other after these 2~3 years... Man, is Ra's discovering things about himself and his sexuality.

It's not news that Ra's likes Timothy, but now? Now Ra's is whipped, mind taken over by the image of Tim in that tight leather suit with high heels and makeup and cat ears and - Wait, what does this tell about Ra's? Is he weird for liking the cat ears?

Hers dresses up as a bat at night). But in general the whole core of this idea I have is just Ra's freezing at the unforgettable and enticing view of Tim as Catlad/Stray.

Tim is the only one who can manage to steal the heart of the demon's head and live to tell it.

the inciting idea was "If Lady Shiva was Tim's biological mother, who would be the funniest dad option? Well what about Richard Dragon, fellow martial artist (with an oddly fitting surname for this idea), but Tim just… didn't inherit any martial arts skills from either parent."

and then I kept getting ideas.

So he finds out he was adopted whilst his dad is still in his coma, but looking for his biological parents is how the last Robin died and Jason was Cringe so tim decides he is fine with not knowing his birth parents.

notable changes during his Robin run include: him pulling the "You aren't my real dad either" card on Jack drake exactly once, and then feeling awful about it; revealing to steph he was an adoptee to try and make her feel better about choosing adoption for her daughter; actually very little of the Eddie Drake scenario changes, Tim is still a freak who doesn't want to be adopted twice.

After Kon dies (and thus after steph/jack drake/the population of Bludhaven all die within a very small timespan), instead of going on a cruise with Dick and Bruce for the One Year Later timeskip, he decides to go follow up on some Ominous Comments shiva made about his birth parentage when he first trained with her… three years ago. 

surprising nobody, her ominous comments about his parentage were because She Is his parent. she recognised him as Robin bc she used to come to observe his martial arts tournaments. ~the stalking is genetic~.

they go on a vigilante Road Trip together so he can Fix Her/find out Who's The Dad, and she can make him worse/try to recruit him as her protégé again. ultimately it ends up a Complete Disaster and Tim decides he was An Idiot who made Bad Decisions and needs to get back to batman. 

he joins them midway through the cruise and immediately has to defuse tension between Bruce and Dick but its okay, he likes to feel like he's helping.

cass doesn't get a villain arc but she does fight Tim over how badly he handles the "they're siblings" situation. specifically, by not telling her about it because instead of trying trying clone kon he is undergoing a "I must push everybody away emotionally :(" arc. she's justified in being mad at him

he spills about going after shiva and finding out who his birth parents were to Bruce and dick, and considers quitting being Robin, but instead gets the bat equivalent of a heartfelt message of love and support by Bruce reaffirming that Robin is his and he can keep working with them. I mean it happens bc he passed another of Bruce's Secret Morality Tests but like Tim we must look on the bright side of this situation 

also Bruce dna tested him when they found out he was adopted and knew his birth parents the entire time and just didn't tell anybody. God fuckjg  dam it Bruce.

things happen, he goes to seek out Richard Dragon for training and because he should probably tell him, "surprise you had a kid with lady shiva and I am that kid". he remains Just Okay at fighting.

on his way home he gets hit with an amnesia stick, whilst back in gotham damian gets dropped off by talia and then Bruce 'dies'. this is dick's nightmare scenario. cass becomes convinced Bruce is still alive and goes to hunt down proof, ruining the day of the council of spiders and ras Al ghul in the process. dick is still in his nightmare scenario

meanwhile on the other side of the world Tim has no idea who he is, is being mentored by Lady shiva, deduced that he's a nonlethal fighter and that this must have been important to him for some reason, hangs out with cultists, wins an underground death match fighting tournament by exploiting rule loopholes, and also has just figured out he is bisexual. 

when he regains his memories and meets kon again he is going to finally puts those pieces together and lose his mind.

when he finallly undoes the Amnesia and returns to gotham he is Not Happy to find out he got 'replaced' as Robin and dick seemingly never looked for him. but then Jason gives him an unhinged "be my robin" speech and he realises that just bc he isn't Batman's Robin doesn't mean he can't do good in the world. he is going to Robin the hell out of this cringe villain loser, be a sober companion for doing murder, and get Jason Todd back onto the right path by the time Bruce comes home from TimeHell

I do actually like reverse robins! I read one fic where Damian was the eldest and had become the next Head, they were calling him Ra’s but I can’t find it :// he moved back to Gotham for Dickie. I really liked that they went that direction, because I’m fascinated with Damian in relation to his position as an al Ghul. A lot of time people go full on abuse, but this boy is a prince. He can be abused, and was, but I feel like discounting all the interesting dysfunctional family dynamics is lackluster

FINE, I WILL BE THE PARTY POOPER.

Can fandom and some of Jason fans please realize that Jason Todd is probably amnesiac and under the control of Ra’s and maybe even Talia in Young Justice?

I understand that you guys are like a bottomless pit of “batfam fluff” but you need to understand that being under someone’s control is not a fluffy thing or “Jason being protective of Talia and Damian”.

Jason is more than likely there against his will, he is a hostage of Ra’s and the League of Assassins.

This picture of “big loving bro of Damian” and “eldest son of Talia” should not exist because you are erasing/avoiding the fact that Jason has been taken by those people for years and he has no autonomy.

For once, take your pink stained glasses off and realise that your fluffy fantasy is not what is going on and Jason is probably suffering like a mad man.

Because while you all like to make up scenarios based on seconds of Jason and Damian content, no one really paid attention to the fact that in last season it was DICK in full Nightwing gear, the one that snapped some of Jason’s memories back.

Jason didn’t remember shit but he remembered Dick’s last name, and Jason saying Gray…son was what made Ra’s aware that Jason was able to talk and/or remember his past.

This is what happens in season three:

“…The reveal still relies on some comic book knowledge to catch, once Ra's al Ghul arrives to put an end to the fighting, and explain that he can't help them find the missing Markov. Having apparently left behind the evil secret society known as The Light, Ra's is following his own plans, and allows the heroes to depart. As he does, the masked and hooded fighter finally speaks, saying only "Gray...Son." The name of Nightwing isn't impossible for him to know, but the response from Ra's is what seals it: "Ahh, your memories are returning... Excellent."”

It really doesn’t look like Jason is there on his own free will, in fact, he most likely wasn’t. Jason has always been picked up by Talia when he was most vulnerable, he was either physically or mentally unresponsive when she was taking care of him, he wasn’t even fully in control of his situation when he was pushed to the Lazarus Pit.

So, knowing that, we can estimate that he wasn’t fully in control of himself when he was resurrected AND in Young Justice’s case Ra’s still has him under his roof, which is the difference with comics.

Let me remind everyone that Ra’s never wanted to save Jason and when Talia helped him recover, Ra’s threatened with killing him if she didn’t get rid of him first. So, having Ra’s (an absolute piece of shit) acting like he could control (and later on, manipulate) Jason in season three, never made me feel like we could have “Jason being fluffy with Damian” because Jason is a hostage of Ra’s and the League.

Also, something that repeats itself in both seasons is the fact that we cannot see Jason’s face, he has his eyes completely covered and so is his nose and mouth. That whole look suggests that whoever dressed him like that doesn’t want anyone recognising Jason.

Jason is a victim in this story and I am sick and tired of people avoiding that BIG FACT over fluffy ideas! Young Justice is a dark as fuck take on the DC universe, so you better start understanding that Jason is not having the time of his life. He is trapped.

AND let’s not forget that Jason is not a fan of people like Ra’s and assassins that do shady stuff. The Jason that appeared in season four looks programmed, he wasn’t “protecting” Talia or Damian, he jumped into action when Jade (Cheshire) ran away from Sensei. And Jason only stopped because Sensei commanded him to stop.

HE WAS COMMANDED TO STOP!

Sensei treated him like a dog, he is trained dog for the league. So, please understand the story that is being told for what it is. Jason is being held hostage and Ra’s has been actively hiding him from both Batman and Nightwing.

I hope that from now on people are more focused of writing scenarios where Dick finds out that it is Jason under the Red Hood and saves him from Ra’s. Or maybe, Talia will listen to what Jade said about protecting their children from that life, and she will also give Damian to someone that can take him away from the League and Ra’s shadow.

Maybe then we will see Jason get away from them, but I don’t believe he will do it on his own free will, he will do it because he was commanded to do that.

I know, that fluffy content is all that some of you guys want, but erasing the true story or the not so fluffy story that might be going on isn’t the way to go with this. Yes, these are fictional characters but it is good to recognise situations for what they really are.

It is lovely to see the beautiful fanart and headcanons, but everyone seems to be missing the actual story, and in the end, it sends the wrong message. Young Justice is a well written, mature cartoon that works with a variety of situations, and when we have content like that, we should respect it.

Comic’s canon might be a little bit blurry with its “batfam” content so yeah go ahead twist it even more, it probably will look better but with Young Justice? It isn’t necessary, mostly when the “fluffy batfam” content is freely available to you as a web comic. Not everything has to be soft/happy times/loving family, and if you paint it all that way then how are we supposed to enjoy these new stories and takes?

You visit the Jason Todd and Young Justice tag and you are plagues from things that don’t fit the narrative of the show. Not everyone is able to see the show now, so they only see what is on the tags, and what is on the tags is not what is really happening.

Jason is not the family bodyguard that sees Talia as his mom and Damian as his little brother.

Jason is the victim of Ra’s and the League who has no autonomy.

Once again got all intense about how annoying Ra'sTim haters are. I'm remembering that time on Twitter not long ago when they were calling Ra'sTim i*cest... Yeah I know, Twitter is hell, but come on! 😭

I think it's particularly funny because Ra's is a man who reduces his family to his blood ties and even then he is picky. He *will* disown his children (not hurt them! Do not confuse it!) if he considers he has been betrayed so the proposition that he would see Tim as family... And that Tim would see Ra's as family! It's just so funny to me. Tell me you don't read comics without telling me you don't read comics.

I believe Tim and Ra's (before properly interacting) used to see each other as villain and hero. Period. Tim studies Batman's villains and cases so for him Ra's is synonym of bad guy, extremely dangerous, probably best if avoided. Ra's keeps an eye in all the bats, so Tim (still Robin) is a threat too: awfully loyal to the Batman, highly trained, more likely will provoke lots of damage and won't die. And that's mostly it, until Ra's is forced to meet the bats more frequently due to Damian going to live with Bruce. Ra's is more aware of Tim's abilities, and Tim is more aware of the danger Ra's represents, which I think explains why their meetings go as they do.

I don't think Ra's labels Tim as Damian's brother, but he might label Tim as Bruce's son. Which doesn't mean that makes Ra's *feel* like he's related to Tim, and similarly, Tim labels Ra's as Damian's grandfather, but nothing to him. There's no familiar tie between them, nor is their dynamic close to that, so I do wonder why people look at Ra's saying he wants a heir with Tim's blood and think that's familiar and not low-key homoerotic.

I get it if people dislike Ra'sTim due to the "dark" elements (tho I consider them very tame if compared to ships as Hannigram for example) but there's nothing on them that makes it "i*cest" so I do get mad when people accuse them of so. Particularly when it's the fans of certain Ra's' child and her ship who do so, as if Ra'sTim fandom doesn't actually treat her better than gen fans. Hell, Ra'sTim fics always lean in portraying her nicely, erasing the awkward comic canon and allowing her to have her classical bond with Damian. I have even seen certain tendency to ship her with Bruce (tho yes I admit most fandom goes with BatCat, myself included). So the fact that they have this need of hating Ra'sTim is annoying, because Ra'sTim is NOT the fandom treating their fav poorly nor doing anything wrong.

It's awful that we aren't allowed to like Ra's as his own character, that we aren't allowed to speak freely of the interesting elements of shipping him with MEN. Exploring a queer, individual Ra's al Ghul has taught me a lot about storytelling. Exploring an scenario where he falls in love with someone who contrasts with him the way Tim does has made me realize that fanfiction can be more than "I disliked the ending" and that you can write your own opinions on characters that sometimes other people share. It has been amazing and I adore it.

So what I'm trying to say is... People should stop being these loud, violent haters. There's no need for this. Why can't people let others enjoy themselves?

What do you think would happen if Tim fell to his death in rr 12?? Would he consider reviving him via Lazarus pit?

anon you have left me with a pronoun where I need a proper noun. But I think the only likely candidates here are "Ra's" or "Dick," so let's just do both!

I don't think Ra's would. It's a very fun hypothetical to imagine. You only need to nudge things a little bit, and then you get to figure out what that would look like. How would Ra's use this for some convoluted master plan of manipulation? How upset would Tim be about it?

But if we're going canon, I find it unlikely. Red Robin ultimately reveals the whole thing functioned as a test from Ra's to prove if Tim was worthy of making a new heir for him. (In the same way he once wanted an heir from Bruce and Damian; and so presumably this also means "an heir he can later body snatch" more than "an heir to take over the league.")

But I don't think Ra's is the type to give any leeway on that sort of test. If he's not giving his all, how can he truly know Tim is good enough? And imo Tim dying would be judged as a failure, even if he succeeded in the rest. That's not to mention that Tim just proved that he's not nearly as isolated as Ra's thought, and still has friends and family he can rely on, which I imagine makes him a less compelling target for Ra's' manipulations anyway.

So, yeah, I think it would be more: ah, such a pity, wasted this test on someone who lost; ah, well, moving onto the next person I can manipulate!

If we're talking about Dick...

My instinctual answer is still no--Dick laid out very clearly that he thinks using the pit to resurrect people is an objectively terrible decision in Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul when he talked Tim down from it. And Dick has lost people before, people he was close to, people he had absolutely awful reactions to losing, but he doesn't have any pattern of trying to subvert death. (Like--Donna's death absolutely devastated him and hung over his head for a long time, but even as he was reacting unhealthily, he wasn't trying to deny it or get her back. Very unlike Tim's history.)

...Except. There does happen to be that one story in Batman and Robin (not long before RR#12!) where Dick decides to throw Bruce's body in a Lazarus Pit.

And I don't like this story. I think it's absolutely stupid coming so soon after Resurrection, completely contradictory to what we just established. But that (imo) incredibly OOC feeling is absolutely compounded by (a) the fact that Resurrection isn't even brought up at all for him address, (b) the overall lack of emotion in this story to justify where Dick's head is at, (c) Morrison's typical complete disregard for contemporary continuity making me give them zero leeway.

I could maybe be convinced to imagine the version of the story that is, essentially, "Dick gets to be a little hypocritical sometimes." Yes, he just said himself this kind of thing was a horrible idea, and yes he still knows that deep down. But he's stressed, and drowning, and really fucking upset about losing his dad. And just this once, he wants someone back.

I mean, eh, I still don't like it much. But it is canon, and I can nudge it to dislike it less.

So there is precedent for Dick breaking principle to try to put a loved one in the pit regardless. And this scenario would absolutely be one rife with irrational emotion--Tim is his beloved little brother of many years, who's been missing for months, who he just almost got back, who fell to his death, and possibly did so in front of Dick if we're just pushing him to be a few seconds late. You could argue this would be just the kind of extreme circumstance to make him do something stupid, like put Tim in the pit.

On the other hand, the context of B&R may actually lead to Dick not doing this, specifically because it sets precedent. Because that incident went very poorly: the "Bruce" was not really Bruce, and not-Bruce escaped and nearly killed a fair few people Dick cares about. And the whole thing was blatantly A Huge Mistake. A very very recent Huge Mistake, that is very applicable to the question of "should I try to resurrect Tim."

So my conclusion here is no, I don't think Dick would do it.

...BUT you could justify it if you really want to see the au. And I would also still be interested in said AU.

Marinette sighs, running her fingers through Damian's hair as he takes a nap with his head in her lap. Ever since the incident with the Joker, all of the boys had been very attached to her, and Bruce had been treating her like a porcelain doll. Which, she got, really she did. She still felt bad about it though.

"Marinette." Tikki says worriedly, zooming in front of her face. Marinette blinks in surprise. She hadn't even realized Tikki was in the room. While she left the earrings out so that Tikki could roam around the manor, she hardly ever had them on. The two were still mending the relationship that had cracked under the pressure of fighting a supervillain for fifteen years.

"What's wrong?" She asks, running a million scenarios in her head, none of them good.

"It's the Al Ghuls. They're coming." They say, their eyes wide with fear. Not even taking time to think, Marinette shifts Damian into her arms and leaps off the couch.

"Maman?" He says sleepily, glancing around with eyes that are way too alert for someone so little.

"You have to hide, and you cannot come out, not until your father or I come to you, do you understand Damian?" She asks using his name so he knows she's serious. He nods rapidly and she throws open a linen closet, quickly opening the cedar chest and moving the false bottom out of the chest.

“Maman, what’s wrong?” He asks, but she just shakes her head. She doesn’t have time to explain. Not when she still needs to make sure she’s away from his hiding spot. She can’t let Talia find him.

"Okay, baby, I know it's gonna be a tight fit, but I need you to trust me, okay?" Marinette asks, trying not to cry as Damian nods, his tiny face scrunched in worry. She leans down and kisses his forehead before putting the oxygen mask over his face and setting the false bottom of the chest back on top of him. Hands shaking, she readjusts the blankets before shutting the chest and running out of the closet. She closes the door gently, not sure what the ETA was.

"They're coming through the cave." Tikki says, dropping a familiar pair of earrings in her hand before darting into her pocket. Slipping the earrings in, she rushes down to the kitchen and pulls out different baking supplies and utensils. She had to look like she was busy. She didn't want to risk letting them know that she knew they were there. Pulling out her phone, she sends a quick text to Bruce. SOS @manor. Letting out one last shaky breath, she sticks her phone in her pocket, ignoring the constant buzz coming from it. Instead, she starts dumping ingredients into a bowl, eyeballing the measurements with the careful ease of someone who’s done it for years.

“I didn’t realize my beloved had a new bitch.” Talia practically spits, stalking into the kitchen like she owns the place. Marinette frowns, hoping her acting isn’t as bad as it was when she was a teenager.

“I’m sorry, who the hell are you? And why are you in my house?” She asks, tensing as the other woman pulls a sword out of a sheath on her back.

“Your house?” Talia scoffs, glaring at her. “Last I checked, this house belongs to Bruce Wayne, not you. Now where is he?” She asks, pointing the sword at Marinette’s chest.

“He’s at work, of course.” Marinette says, trying not to wince as the woman’s sword presses into the cut from the Joker.

“Funny.” Talia says, glaring. “I hate funny.” She says, pushing the sword harder.

“Enough, daughter.” A deep voice says, stepping out of the shadows. Marinette tries not to react as the leader of the League of Assassins walks into the kitchen like he’s done it a million times before. “You have a ring on. Is it from Bruce?” Ra’s asks, quirking an eyebrow up. Marinette nods.

“Yes.” She says, extremely aware of the sword resting on her collarbone.

“Interesting. You are not his usual conquest.” The man remarks. Marinette bites her tongue to keep from saying something that’ll get her killed. She can’t let them find Damian. “No matter, I am certain you know we are not here for Bruce.” He adds with a wicked smile.

“Well, Alfred isn’t home either-” Marinette starts, immediately stopping as the sword is tilted and pressed into her throat. Ra’s shakes his head, tutting in disapproval.

“Your insistence that you use humorous quips is going to lead to injuries.” He says. She opens her mouth, but the sound of the front door slamming open makes her freeze as her eyes widen in horror.

“Someone’s home.” Talia smirks.

“Hey Ma? You home?” Jason yells and Marinette swears under her breath. Why the hell didn’t Bruce tell Alfred that there was an emergency? Why did he let them come home?

“Answer him.” Ra’s says. Marinette shakes her head, wincing in pain as Talia presses the sword hard enough to draw blood. “I said, answer him.” Ra’s demands.

“Just baking, minou.” She calls, hoping that he’ll understand. Hoping that using Damian’s nickname instead of his own will clue him in that something is wrong. He doesn’t say anything else, but she hears him drop something just outside the kitchen- probably his backpack- before pushing the door open. He freezes, looking at her with wide eyes. “Hey baby, it’s okay.” She says, trying to step towards him but stopped by the damn sword.

“I don’t think so.” Talia hisses. Marinette finally lets go and glares at the woman, putting as much venom and hate as she can into the look. After all, this is the woman that gave her baby nightmares. This is the woman who was going to turn Jason into a killing machine, the one who made him doubt his place in the family. Talia Al Ghul had the privilege of being tied with the Joker for people Marinette would break her fiancé’s rule for.

“What the hell is your problem? What do you want from us?” She demands, knowing exactly what the other woman wants, but also knowing there’s no way in hell she’ll let her have him.

“I want my son. And seeing as this one is here, I’m certain you have Damian as well.” Talia sneers. A small black blob floating up and glaring at Talia catches Marinette’s attention, and she doesn’t know whether to cheer or groan. On the one hand, Plagg was as protective of Damian as she was and there was no way he would let Talia take him. On the other hand, the last time Plagg tried to be destructive without a wielder, he caused an actual avalanche.

“You aren’t taking the boy.” Plagg declares, revealing himself. Marinette sets her face in a nonchalant expression, despite the way she screams on the inside. What was Plagg doing?

“He is under our protection.” Tikki adds, flying out and floating next to Plagg. Ra’s’ eyes widen as he looks between her and the kwamis.

“How- how did this happen?” He asks. Marinette lets out a huff, deciding to play into Tikki and Plagg’s little display, even though they hadn’t talked to her about it. And it definitely wasn’t part of her original plan. But if there was one thing she was still good at from her years of being Ladybug, it was making new plans on the fly.

“I am the Chosen wielder of the Ladybug Miraculous, and the Guardian of the Chinese Miracle Box. The kwami have chosen to place this family under their protection, so unless you want to invoke the wrath of nineteen gods, I suggest you leave.” Marinette says, her voice strong despite the panic coursing through her veins. Talia lowers the sword, but keeps a firm grip on it as she glares at her.

“Father, I am not going to leave without-”

“What goes around comes around, Talia Al Ghul. You have created misery and hardship for countless people. I would hate to let Plagg release your negative karma suddenly. All of that leftover energy from the Pits.” Tikki draws out, their eyes narrowing at the woman. Talia pales slightly, glancing at her father.

“Father-”

“Enough, daughter. We will take our leave now.” Ra’s says, a haunted look in his eyes that tells Marinette he knows exactly what Plagg is capable of.

“And you will not return.” Marinette adds, ignoring Talia’s scowl. Ra’s nods.

“Very well.” He says, anger tinging his voice before he and Talia walk out of the kitchen. Marinette stands still, her entire body tense until she hears a yelp. Rushing out of the kitchen, she manages to stop just before falling into the portal in the floor. She glances in, stifling a snort at the shocked look on the Al Ghul’s faces. Glancing up at Kaalki, she grins at the kwami as they close the portal.

“Really?” She asks, raising an eyebrow. Kaalki grins.

“They deserved it. At least I dropped them near their home base. I could’ve dropped them in the middle of the ocean like Plagg suggested.” They say. Marinette shakes her head with a relieved smile.

“It’s over.” She whispers, rushing back to the linen closet.

“Ma!” Jason yells, rushing after her. She pauses and pulls him into a tight hug.

“I’m okay, mon chou.” She says softly. “But I’ve gotta get Dames out, okay?” Jason nods, pulling back and frowning.

“When Alfred said there was a situation at the manor and you were here, I thought I was gonna lose you.” He says as she opens the closet and the cedar chest.

“Jason Peter Todd Wayne, if you know there is a situation, you can’t just run in because I’m there.” She chastises him. “But thank you, sweetheart, really.” She says, pulling the false bottom out of the chest. Damian blinks up at her, and she frowns at the tears on his face. Tugging the oxygen mask off, she ignores Jason’s quiet:

“Shit, Ma, you weren’t messing around.” Pulling Damian out of the chest, she tugs him close, letting her tears finally fall as she cuddles him close to her.

“You’re okay now, baby. We’re okay.” She says, reaching out and pulling Jason into the hug as well.

“Marinette!” Bruce’s voice calls out and she sniffles slightly, frustrated that it took him so long, but thankful for the kwamis. She’d have to give them some special thank you treats later.

“In here!” She calls. She gives him a tense smile as he walks in, frantically looking around.

“Where-”

“They came for him. But the kwamis took care of it.” She says vaguely. Bruce’s eyes narrow, but he nods. She’d explain later, but for now she just wanted to hold her sons whose lives had nearly been ruined by the Al Ghuls. Never again. She would never let them near her boys again.
