My entries for the FFXIV hair design contest. They were not picked as I misunderstood the template as a base but, practicing turnaround and thinking of potential 3D problems was fun. I tried to be as through

I thought this would look quite unique for M models, but it looks one finalist with an f base has a similar bun up and hair down in the back idea so I understand why this didn't get picked.

This one was mostly a simple bonus. I wanted a hairstyle that felt closer to how I picture drawing my personal private characters, which mixes two base hairstyles, but I guess it wasn't distinct enough even if I stuck to the base.

If anyone has any thoughts about these designs, I'd love to know!

Another absolute amazing Danny design by @zillychu ! I was immediately obessed with it and I couldn't help myself to try to model it in 3d!

My pc power supply died in the middle of modeling , but I managed to get a spare part quickly and no data was lost so everything is fine again.

I’ve decided to post all of the progress here as well, not just on instagram. Some people have asked to be tagged once I post some progress, but I can’t remember who they were. So if you wanna see future progress, let me know and I’ll tag you!

This one may not look too different from the previous one, but nothing really turned out the way I intended to.

The colors, the textures, the focus, the sounds, the camera, everything just seems so off, and oh boy the animation… this is the result of rushing and not knowing what I’m doing, just inserting keyframes, tweaking the graph editor and hoping for the best. So maybe signing up for this project wasn’t a great idea after all lol. Plus the datapad’s not even fully textured, you can literally see where I started adding details on the front, then for some reason I just left off lol

One thing I’ll definitely work on in the future is the menu itself, because if this project is for a graphic design thesis, then I might as well try to make the only thing that has something to do with it look more presentable. I’ll definitely be changing up the fonts, and I have some other ideas for the background as well.

But for now, I’ll move on to the remaining 5 character menu animations. Originally there were gonna be 5, not 7. At first I was randomly picking out the characters I wanted to make one for, then I realized, it’d probably be best, if each squad got one animation. The 501st gets Rex, the 212th gets Cody, the CG gets Fox, the 104th gets Wolffe, and the 241st gets Tukk. CF99 got Hunter but I really wanted to make one for Tech as well, since modeling and texturing him took the longest 💀

Once all of that’s done, I can finally move on to animating the trailer video. Which I’m terrified of, but oh well lol

“Goliath” (temporary name until I come up with a new one) - a fantasy creature resembling a mix of a vaeraf (my main original species), a hyena and a bear. I saw them in a dream about two years ago and decided to make them part of my world (most of my beings and stories come from my dreams in one way or another), and also I made a base model. In the past, I already had ideas about hyena-like creatures and I still like this idea!

They are large (about like bears), have a long neck with a mane, short tail and long legs with huge paws.

Now that classic Mickey is getting more attention, i think it's about time to talk about one very annoying design misunderstanding

Has anyone noticed how Mickey Mouse eyes are COMPLETELY misinterpreted in coloured version? 👀

He has a mono eye like Sonic, which was changed into two small eyes inside his pupils

Also for example, notice the placement of Minnie's eyelashes that went from her eyelids to the top of her pupils

Yet Goofy retained normal eyes for some reason

Does anyone know why it's the case? 🤔

I did this random test in 3D to understand the head of my character Roberto/Rocky, a great hammerhead shark. It didn't work out very well, but that's okay. I need to make a better model.

I haven't felt like drawing lately and I don't even know why, so doodling this made me happy.✨

Meh, I think for now this works to help me draw this silly guy from different angles.

A reminder to myself to never draw Roberto sideways, it's very confusing dskfjgdf
