... anyway, I got given ideas. Guess this is what happens when I go several months without drawing anything.
First art of 2023, first art post of 2023, and full of the energy I hope to carry into the year. This is the way, and all that.

Sitting in the passenger seat, your leg bouncing from the excitement of visiting Disneyland. It has been your dream since you were a child, but your parents were so busy arguing your whole childhood, that they never took you there.
Your childhood wasn’t bad, but neither was good. Your weekends were spent in your room, as you played with your toys, or you were out with your friends.
Now sitting here, twenty-one years old, with your hot ass boyfriend driving you to the Disneyland in Anaheim. His hand resting on your tight, the other one gripping the steering wheel as he hums in the rhythm of the song playing on the radio. You look over at him, a loving smile forming on your lips as you place your hand on his, squeezing it.
“Thank you, Dawson,” you whisper not wanting to interrupt the pleasant silence. Dawson looks over to you, a small smile on his full lips.
“Every time, babes. You deserve the word. And I’ll do everything to give you one.” He brings your entwined hands to his mouth and kisses your every knuckle. Your cheeks redden at his words and action a quiet giggle escaping your lips. “We’re here baby.” He points towards the areal, your eyes catch the sleeping beauty castle. Your eyes light up with excitement as you bounce on the seat slightly, Dawson laughing at your excitement.
He parks the car in the empty parking space killing the engine. Before you can open your doors, he’s holding them open, helping you to get out.
“Here you go, princess.” He bows in front of you with a laugh.
“Idiot.” You giggle, closing the doors behind you. Dawson cages you between the car and his warm hard body.
“But yours baby,” he nuzzles his nose in your neck inhaling deeply. He loves how you smell. The sweet smell of your perfume and your body scent. “Only yours.” His eyes meet yours, his head bending down to connect your lips.
“Okay, let's go! I want to see everything.” You push him away after a while, almost running to buy a ticket. To your surprise, there are not many people waiting in line, so after ten minutes of waiting you and Dawson finally get your chance to buy the tickets. When the lady tells you the price, you pull your card out to pay for it only to be met with Dawson’s mobile on the payment terminal. You pour your lips, frowning at him, but you don’t say anything. With a smile and goodbye, you take the tickets finally walking towards the entrance.
You don’t what to look at first when you get in. There are so many things you want to see, but you know, you don’t have the time to see everything. You intertwine your hand with Dawson’s tugging him to the first thing you want to see. The Sleeping Beauty castle.
After an hour of walking around Disneyland, you’re having a small break to get some food and drink. You’re sitting on a bench in front of Critter Country, waiting for you to get on another attraction the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh. You’re holding a milkshake in your right hand with the left hand, you’re going through your bag to get some napkins out for you two. You look over at Dawson, who’s holding two big hotdogs in his hand, one halfway done as he chews on his bite. You took your hotdog from him, taking a bite by yourself, groaning at the taste.
“Uh, stop it!” Dawson says immediately, looking around. “That sound is only for my ears, love.” He says so seriously.
“I’m sorry, babe.” You giggle swallowing your bite.
“S’Okay, but hurry up, so we get in the house as soon as possible, okay?” Dawson stands up, and stands in front of you, shielding you from the sun. You look up at him your eyes are squinted from the light.
“Thank you.” Your words are muffled by the food in your mouth. Dawson nods his eyes, sipping from his drink.
When you’re done with your food and milkshake, you finally make your way inside the section. You’re currently walking over the human Winnie the Pooh when Dawson lets go of your hand. Not caring you keep looking around you in awe. But when you turn around after a few minutes, Winnie is in front of you, down on one knee, and in one of his hands is a black box. Confused you look around looking for Dawson. Of course when you hear his laugh, from the costume, tears sprung in your eyes.
Dawson takes off the head, a wide smile on his lips as he’s looking up at you, sparkle in his eyes.
“Y/n we’ve been together for five years and not once I doubt your love and mine. I knew the first time I saw you dancing in that bar I knew you would somehow change my life, but I didn’t expect you to change it so much. The night I met you, my life turned from black and white into a spectrum of colors and I’m so glad for it. You taught me how to love myself, and how to be grateful for every win and loss because losing makes me stronger and wiser. Y/N I LOVE YOU MUCH. And as Leo vowed to Paige, ‘I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once-in-a-lifetime love,’.” He stops for a while to take in breath before he finally says the four words. You are already crying like a baby from that speech. Because fuck…you know how much he hates this film even though you love it, and he remembers the phrase. “Will you marry me?” his voice is now shaky, his hands opening the box revealing a silver ring with ruby in the middle of it.
You start nodding your head not trusting your voice. But when he stands up you let out a sob with a laugh. “Yes, yes, yes. I’ll marry you.” You hug him around his neck, pulling as close as it’s possible. Applause interrupts around you, making you two pull away. You laugh at the people watching you, some even filming this. You look at Dawson again, kissing him so passionately he stumbles backward laugh escaping his slips.
“I love you so much,” he whispers on your lips, hugging you tightly in himself. “Wanna try the ring on?” he whispers in your ear pulling away from you slightly.
“Yeah.” You nod your head wiping the tears away. Dawson takes the ring in his hand sliding it on your ring finger, your eyes welling up with tears over again. “I love you, Dawson, so much.” You choke on your sob.
“And I love you, baby. So fucking much!” he dips his head down, kissing you softly with a smile on his lips. “Let’s go enjoy the rest of the trip.” He pulls away looking over to a guy who was probably in the costume before him. He strips from it handing it to the guy thanking him.
The rest of the day, you couldn’t keep your eyes from the ring sitting on your finger, feeling so happy for the man who placed it on.

(A little prompt idea and I got some help from @sarahmadisonxoxo ! Also I’ll write the other prompts when I have time!)
-
It was only a matter of time before the party decided that they were going to go on a Disneyland trip, it just made sense that eventually they’d do a huge group trip like this and it’s safe to say that they were all excited. The adults, the older teens, and the younger teens came together for this trip. Saving up everything they had to make it possible and a fun experience. All of them drove in separate cars to get everyone in one pace at the same time and once they did that’s when the shenanigans began. The adults parted ways and went ahead to get some drinks for themselves leaving majority of the kids together. Jonathan, Nancy and Argyle were walking around with Mike, Will, and Lucas exploring the different rides that seemed like the craziest ones. Robin and Vickie took Eleven and Max to the nearest store to do some shopping. They looked at all the cute Disney headbands and figurines that were just too adorable to not buy. Robin bought some Mickey ears for the girls, herself, and Vickie. She smirked to herself when she saw a pair of ears that had a rainbow on it and she thought they would fit Steve perfectly, she also thought it would be funnier to give them to him without telling him what they meant.
After their shopping trip they met up with group in passing. They bumped into Steve and Dustin who were jumping all over the place with excitement. So far they’ve been getting on several rides, eating loads of snacks, and running around like little kids. The girls laughed at how all over the place they were, their sugar rushes being more apparent as the day went on.
“You two look like idiots.” Max joked. The girls laughed at the goofy grins on their faces as they rolled their eyes.
“Sadly that’s not a new discovery.” Robin sighed as she put her hand in her hip. She figured since Steve was older he would at least consider acting like an adult once just for today.
“You’re just jealous because we finished ten churros in one sitting!” Dustin bragged he turned to Steve and gave him a high five. The girls weren’t impressed in the slightest but they couldn’t help but smile at the silliness in front of them.
“You really ate ten churros?” Eleven asked still skeptical of the amount that Dustin had told them. Both of them nodded their head.
“Ten.” Steve repeated with a wide smile feeling proud. All of them laughed in unison at the situation. As crazy as it sounded all of them knew that this wasn’t too far fetched for the crazy duo to do.
“I mean that sounds fun but don’t you think that’s a little pricey.” Vickie questioned while directing it mostly towards Steve. He only shrugged in response.
“Nothing is pricey when you’re having fun.” Steve said happily and patted Dustin’s shoulder. The girls smiled at the cute moment between them. It was truly amazing to see their friendship going strong after so many years. Robin took a quick look at her watch and it was getting close to the time that they all agreed on to meet back at the car.
“Alright, it’s getting close to the time that we promised Hopper to meet back up. We’re going to wander a little bit more before then, make sure to be back on time.” Robin warned Steve as she longed her finger at him.
“Sure thing.” Steve nodded his head and both parties parted ways. Before they could get far Robin grabbed his arm stopping him in his tracks. Steve looked at her with confusion.
“I almost forgot,” She took the Mickey ears she bought before and put them on Steve’s head. The rainbow bow sparkled in the sunlight because of the glitter, as silly as Steve looked with them on no one could deny how cute he looked in them especially with his confused expression. Robin laughed when she took a step back to look at Steve’s new look. “Sweet, they suit you.” She teased before walking away.
“That was weird.” Steve mumbled to himself, he never really understood anything Robin did but that worked because she could say the same for him. Despite being confused he kept the ears on, hey he might as well embrace them.
Him and Dustin continued to explore the park a little more before it was time for them to leave. After a few minutes of just walking around and nothing was really jumping out to them. Dustin’s eyes widen when he saw a short line for a roller coaster ride, with a wide grin he turned to Steve and pointed at the ride.
“Let’s get on that one!” Dustin yelled before he started running toward the ride. Steve didn’t expect to blink and see Dustin already ahead of him. He shook his head then took off running right after him.
Dustin was running so fast that he couldn’t even hear Steve calling out for him to slow down. In a flash Dustin was colliding with another person making both of them hit the ground hard. Steve witnessed the entire thing and his face started to heat up from embarrassment. Once he made it to both of them he took in the entire sight, laying beside Dustin was a guy in a Captain Hook costume and his curly hair was sprawled hot while he laid on the ground groaning. Steve felt obligated to reach his hand out and help him up since he already made the guy’s day a mess. As he reached his hand out Dustin reached for it at the same time, with a quick swat Steve moved his hand away.
“Not for you I told you to slow down. I’m so sorry about that.” Steve said when he turned his attention towards the man. He hesitated at first as he looked at Steve then his hand before taking it and lifting himself up. He stood up to dust his clothes off, the look of embarrassment and anger was in his as he looked around to see if anybody saw. Confirming that no one did he looked directly at Dustin and Steve with an intense gaze.
“There’s no running allowed around the park. Someone can get seriously hurt like that and I advise you to take note of that rule.” The man was direct and focused mostly on Steve when he said it.
“It won’t happen again I promise.” Steve said softly. He slapped Dustin’s shoulder hard earning an “ow” from him and that made the man laugh slightly. “Are you sure you’re ok? You don’t need to see anyone right?”
“Ah don’t worry about it man, I’ve had my fair share of bruises so that was nothing really.” He playfully dusted off his shoulder as if to say he was perfectly untouched. Both of them laughed at the joke while Dustin stood there awkwardly wanting this to end before the line started to get long.
“Still I’m genuinely sorry… Eddie?” Steve said unsure as he read Eddie’s name tag. Eddie chuckled then nodded his head.
“Like I said before I told you you’re good man stop stressing over it. It’s just another day on the job for me.” Eddie reassured Steve with a smile. Both of them blushed as they stood in silence looking at each other and trying to avoid eye contact. Eddie was the one to speak up again after a few seconds. “Nice ears.”
“Oh! Well thanks. My friend put these on me and I think I look kind of dumb with them.” Steve touched the Mickey ears on his head almost forgetting that they were there. Eddie immediately noticed the rainbow on them and felt a little bit bold, those were the pride ears that they were starting to sell. He genuinely liked them and so many people were able to express themselves at the park. Which lead Eddie to believe that Steve was doing the same thing, Eddie took a chance once he saw it presented to him.
“You don’t look dumb with them on in the slightest if anything they add to your cuteness in my opinion.” Eddie said casually. Steve’s face turned into a darker shade of red at the unexpected compliment from Eddie. Dustin rubbed his forehead as he listens to the entire thing.
“Think so? You don’t think they’ll scare anybody away.” Steve said jokingly. Eddie shook his head as he smiled.
“I’m still standing here aren’t I?” Eddie’s voice lowered a bit as he asked the question. Steve had to fight the urge to look away and blush like an idiot. The attention Eddie was giving was coming at him so fast that he didn’t know how to react.
“I’ve heard enough can we get on the ride now?” Dustin said annoyed with the both of them. That made Steve blush harder sone he realized Dustin heard everything. Eddie scratched the back of his neck feeling slightly embarrassed.
“Right. I should let you two be in your way, I’ll be right here all day if you guys need anything.” Eddie smiled at the both of them. He hated that he couldn’t give his phone number to Steve due to policy but he hoped Steve took the hint.
“Sure thing.” Steve smiled back before him and Dustin started to walk away. They got a few steps away from Eddie when the conversation about what just happened was brought up.
“God you two were gross back there.” Dustin fake gagged while holding his stomach. Steve raised a brow not understanding what he meant.
“What are you talking about?” Steve asked. He had no idea what Dustin was going on about.
“Come on Steve, it was obvious he was hitting on you.” Dustin explained. Steve blushed when he thought back on the previous conversation and it did seem like that was the case. He shook his head trying to get rid of those thoughts.
“I highly doubt that besides why would he?” Steve couldn’t grasp all of this at once because nothing was making sense. Dustin rolled his eye and eventually they were going to get stuck one day.
“You’re literally wearing the pride Mickey Mouse ears.” Dustin points at the ears on top of Steve’s head, the rainbow boy still sparkling from the sunlight shining on them. Steve’s fell open in shock.
“Robin!” Steve whisper yelled. Dustin started to laugh at Steve’s scrunched you face. They both made it to the ride and luckily the line wasn’t too long so they could easily slip onto the ride. Steve took a quick glance behind him and saw Eddie in the distance talking to a little boy and waving his plastic hook in the kids face making him laugh. The interaction made Steve smile immediately because it was the cutest thing. He got on the ride feeling giddy about talking to Eddie and he couldn’t deny that he was kind of interested even though he would yell at Robin later for it, he’d also thank her as well.

So this may be specifically funny to me but the main difference in my experience of reading @mangobaii-daily last year and reading it again this year is that now I like. Actually Know people who work in Disneyland California. specifically as performers and I know for a fact that they only got in because they've been taking dance lessons since childhood and had years of highschool musical theater experience. and even then theyre not character/mascot actors (which i imagine would have even higher standards considering you're performing in a sweaty suit and representing a character of a corporation that has Standards and a Reputation to uphold) so actually how the Fuck did mb!dream land that job as goofy. like that isnt some fucking chuck e cheese fast food mascot that the manager of the store wears for birthdays like that shit is fucking DISNEYLAND and requires at Least an audition and resume. so what I'm saying is does mb!dream actually have an insane background in performing arts. did he suck the casting director's dick for that job. was there nepotism involved. was mb!george's insane ramblings actually correct and mb!dream is actually the physical manifestation of Goofy in a human being and whoever oversaw his audition was so blown away they immediately knew he was perfect for the role??? like actually how the FUCK did mb!dream get casted as beloved popular disney character GOOFY???

so I've finally caved to peer pressure and started reading Red, White & Royal Blue (it was all the it's so Merthur coded! posts which finally did it :P)
Four chapters in I at long last understand all the baffling Young Royals fic and fandom quirks and phrases and seeming references which always confused the shit out of me, so I guess that's something lol
On a random and completely unrelated side note, I hate when AO3 is down and if it isn't back within the next ten minutes you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the next chapter of The Prince and the Barista.

Mickey Ears
Written for @hinnymicrofic, 11 July prompt: Disney
Tumblr media
Ginny sipped from the sweet hot chocolate as she sat across from Harry in the little parlour. She looked outside as the rain started pouring over the most magical land she had ever visited, Disneyland Paris.
Harry looked worried this was going to dampen her mood but decked out with Mickey ears, a new backpack and a fake wand, the rain was not affecting her much. It would clear up again soon enough.
“Do you want to taste?” she asked as she held up her chocolate.
Harry eyed his milkshake and shook his head. “I’m good. Thanks.” He smiled. “Are you having fun?”
She nodded. “Are you sure Mr Disney wasn’t a wizard?” She lowered her voice. “It’s hard to believe none of this isn’t true magic.”
Harry smiled. “There are rumours...”
“Aha! I knew it!” she said so loudly the family beside them looked up. Her mouth snapped shut and she offered them an apologetic smile — She didn’t know how to apologise in French.
“Are you going to show me what you bought for me?” Harry pointed to the shopping bag.
“Yes, I must. You have to wear it the rest of the day.” She dug in the bag and showed him Mickey ears of his own. “They’re Gryffindor coloured!”
Harry sighed but held out his hand. She pushed his hand aside, reached across the table and plopped the ears on his head.
“How do I look?” he asked her.
She smiled brightly. “Absolutely adorable. Like I could just wrap you up and—”
“I am two heads taller than you,” he interjected, cocking his head at her with a slight smirk.
She pouted slightly and took another, rather indignant sip from her hot chocolate. “That won’t stop me.”
His mask drops and a smile breaks out. “Yes, I know.”

Lost Boys Life
Hi friends! This is my dave five contribution to @steddie-week! The prompts I used were together and established relationship. I hope you see both of those reflected in this little beauty. You can read it down below or head over to AO3! Let me know what you think, I'm loving all the freedom of these prompts.
For their twentieth anniversary, Steve takes Eddie to Disneyland.
Of course, Steve wraps up the idea in their 10 year old daughter who is both young enough to be terribly excited yet already treading the line of being too cool to hangout with her fathers for shits and grins much longer. For that reason alone, Steve believes the idea is perfect. There is no better time to spend with Charlie than now. Every passing second is fleeting and Steve isn’t ready to lose his little girl quite yet.
Unsurprisingly, both Eddie and their rambunctious daughter are on board without any necessary convincing. The excitement written across both of their faces makes Steve grateful he listened to Robin and chose to make a family continue to work with Eddie each and every single day. Charlie takes after her surrogate mother so much it’s hard to truly parent her, though. She’s the best pieces of both personalities Steve loves the most.
After getting everyone on board, the plan is pretty perfect from start to finish, if Steve says so himself. He invites Robin and Nancy and their two children. Darren and Laura are thankfully old enough to hold their own and will make for a perfect distraction for Charlie. Of course, Robin is in on the plan, ready and armed to take the group of hooligans in exchange for endless date nights when they get back to their Flagstaff homes.
See, disguised in the child focused trip is Steve’s true gift to Eddie.
More than two decades before becoming who they are now, Steve found out a secret of Eddie’s that changed Steve’s opinion of him forever.
Back in the days when Steve’s entire focus is his popularity, Eddie is just a face in the crowd. He’s Steve’s dealer who makes him come out to the trailer park at the most inconvenient times. To Steve in that moment, Eddie is a scatterbrain who forgets who’s sitting across from him waiting to make a deal. It takes Steve a long time to realize that perspective changes things, that Eddie will one day make a world of difference. That wisdom is yet to come.
Instead, Steve sits impatiently, eager and ready to get the fuck out of there. He’s on a couch that looks twice his age, alone in a place he’s never been. Though Steve gives off confidence in droves, his anxiety spikes in such a foreign environment. Nervously, his hands reach for something to occupy themselves.
Lucky for the both of them, Steve scoops up a well loved copy of Peter Pan. There’s a nice bookmark halfway through the novel; it’s obvious to Steve that though the book is old, the person reading it is interested in taking care of its pages. For some reason, the idea of Eddie in Steve’s head changes then. He’s not just a drug dealer but a person with a little more depth than Steve thought him to have before. Though he’s sure Eddie wouldn’t be a fan of Steve knowing his secret appreciation, Steve is happy for the knowledge.
It’s the memory of that moment that takes Steve’s breathe away as Eddie pushes him up against the wall of a rundown boat house a few months later. He forgets the broken bottle at his throat and is instead taken by the fact that the man before him is just like Peter himself, lost and forcefully bitter from the narrative being written about him. It’s both absurd and changing, Steve thinks in the tense moments later when his heart throbs with want instead of fear for Eddie and his perilous situation.
Thankfully, Eddie doesn’t take after Peter in the sense that he never grows up. They get to him just in time and after months in and out of hospitals and courtrooms, Eddie gets his freedom; the ability to actually live his life the way Eddie wants. With that new ability, Eddie walks straight into Steve’s arms, bringing with him magic and adventure in ways Steve’s never known.
After making it out of the Upside Down alive, Steve’s well aware that’s saying something. They’re lucky to be breathing, let alone have each other.
Throughout the years, Steve learns that Lost Boys never truly grow up – the time simply passes them by, instead. It’s easy to see that Steve himself doesn’t really change. He’s not the most successful guy with a career that makes him known by the masses. After college, Steve thinks getting by from day to day is quite the achievement. He still likes his summer vacations and time away from perpetual babysitting duty. Instead of growing into mean, bitter people like his parents after so many years together, Steve and Eddie twist and mold around each other in a relationship that’s perfect for two people just happy to have someone to share a life with.
Soon, ten years passes them by measured in fights fought and romantic moments both men happened to luck into. It’s years of finding what works best for them and trying to blend in without breaking themselves or each other apart. They move out of Indiana and then the east coast completely. Robin comes with them and Wayne eventually joins them, too. When they settle in Arizona, the world changes again.
The Lost Boys, it seems, are going to be dads.
Steve almost walks out the first time Eddie mentions it, the idea of parenting. He’s happy as a clam just the two of them. The mere thought of adding someone else to the mix makes Steve’s skin crawl. He deals with kids every day. One in their house, getting between them, causing waves – Steve can’t even pretend to be interested.
As it turns out, Robin is in on that plan, too. She explains Eddie’s motivations and the desperate plea he made to her to finally make his family complete. Robin tells Steve of Eddie’s vision of the two of them happily creating a beautiful human society is lucky to have and made better because of, together and united all the way. It’s nice and totally tangible, but still Steve balks. He’s not ready for them to grow up, for their world to change so drastically.
Robin says she’s already said yes, that she’s willing and happy to play a small part in Steve’s never ending happiness. Though, she’s clear when she tells him that she’s not going to sit by and let him ruin the best years to come. She’s a manipulative little shit, clinging to logic like that, but she’s right. Steve can’t deny her or the best thing to happen to him nine months later.
Unlike his worst fears, parenting is just another Lost Boys’ adventure. They exchange their freedom for diapers and late night feedings and the type of joy that’s unprecedented. Eddie’s Peter Pan book resurfaces and quickly becomes part of a routine that Steve is happy to be a part of. Like her father, Charlie wants to be Peter Pan and never grow up while she flys free and unhindered amongst the joys of Neverland.
As it turns out, taking part in the successful growth of a daughter is much more fun than either could fathom. Charlie is a handful, the perfect mix of Eddie’s curiosity with Steve’s ability to play it cool. And though she looks like Robin, Charlie is her fathers’ daughter. Her mannerisms read Steve while her love of fantasy and all things mystical play to Eddie’s side of the table. Reading books is a common occurrence that luckily doesn’t change as Charlie gets older. D&D reference handbooks replace picture books sooner rather than later but Peter Pan always stays. Neither Charlie nor her dads are ready for that story to hit the shelves.
Long story short, this trip with Eddie and their girl is long overdue.
Steve chooses Disneyland because it’s easiest to convince Robin to stuff her family into the car for a six hour drive instead of a torturous flight to Florida at the airport. Robin went to college in LA, so the turf is well known to her and is always an easy bartering chip for Steve to use.
Never mind the fact that the coastal state is progressive to boot. Steve and Eddie spent enough time in Los Angeles and it’s surrounding cities to know the limits to push. It’s been such a long time since Steve got to simply hold Eddie’s hand in public, even for a brief second. He’s looking forward to the small amount of wiggle room the liberal seeming place always affords. Parents like them won’t be one in a million. Their love won’t be, either.
Splurging on all the good stuff is the right decision, everyone knows that right away. Steve’s teacher salary isn’t nearly enough to live on and luckily, Eddie makes great money with more than enough manuscripts to go around. The times that Steve can contribute meaningfully are far between but exciting and heart warming when they do happen. This time around, the whole trip is on Steve and it’s the best feeling ever. Smiles are abundant all around.
They’re at the resort where every breakfast is filled with yummy food and so many characters that even the adults’ heads spin. Steve is enamored by the looks of pure joy on Eddie and Charlie’s faces. All that happiness makes the grueling heat and resultant complaining worth it. Thankfully, Charlie is just tall enough to ride everything and more brave than anyone can give her credit for. She rides all the coasters and little kids’ rides… anything Charlie can get her hands on, she’s ready to step up to without batting an eye. Aside from the inevitable sunstroke and impatient fit Steve’s forever trying to stop, the benefits far outweigh the cons.
Especially the morning that Steve’s been waiting for. The whole trip is planned around the short encounter that he knows is going to be worth all the time, effort, and heartache putting this trip together actually was.
Robin exclaims that it’s a pool day long before Steve needs to convince Charlie to go hangout with her cousins. It’s so easy to dress her up in her Belle swimsuit and send her on her way. They don’t even need to con her. Eddie looks a little tired but is happy to see her go. They share a sigh of relief and lean an extra minute against each other in celebration.
Though forty isn’t old and withered like Steve always thought, the years are catching up.
Not fast enough to ruin his plans, however. Steve perks up when the alarm he sets goes off. His smile is so wide that Eddie squints at him in visible confusion. It takes a lot of effort not to question the situation, Steve sees that as Eddie gets up off the bed they tumbled onto and slips into the third all black Disney getup he insisted on. While Steve’s wearing a pair of traditional Mickey ears, Eddie’s are black and leather, dark and thick like all things Eddie stands for. It’s unusual and perfectly imperfect for the man who rocks leather 300 days out of the year. They’re all celebrating in their own way.
Steve keeps it together until they enter the small theater his surprise is taking place in. It takes a walk through Main Street that never fails to ramp up the excitement of anything about to happen in the park. Knowing what he does, Steve has to bite his lip to stop himself from spilling all the beans. He refuses to let his own excitement be this surprise’s downfall.
At the door, Steve gives their names as the Harrington-Munson’s. Neither of them can take the name legally, but all of Steve’s life is wrapped up in that silly little hyphen. It doesn’t hurt either that Eddie does this giddy little wiggle every time Steve uses it. Now is no exception, especially because an excited Eddie is extra affectionate. His hand slides into Steve’s for a brief second, squeezing their fingers together tightly. It’s gone sooner than either want but both men revel in the happiness of such a simple gesture.
They are early and first in line, which turns out to be the best thing. Steve isn’t distracted by Eddie’s listlessness as the crowd gets bigger. They are front and center for the main attraction’s arrival. Steve gets to see it all and Eddie’s reaction is worth memorizing.
Eddie’s eyes widen as a small actor in green tights enters the room. It’s easy to get lost in the spell of fantasy as Wendy joins Peter on the small stage. The backdrop is that of the bedroom where Peter and the kids first meet. The whole thing feels like a direct interpretation of the scene Steve now knows by heart. Eddie and Charlie both love the magic of Peter’s first moments.
A gasp follows Eddie’s hand sinking back into Steve’s. Eddie clings to him, vibrating there against Steve’s side like a spring ready to slap back and bounce off the walls. Eddie’s lips are moving but no sound leaves them. Overwhelm sits in his expression, though excitement thankfully trumps Eddie’s usual social anxiety. In that moment, Steve thanks his lucky stars – Eddie will be able to enjoy this to its full capacity.
And man does he. Steve watches the love of his life fanboy during their brief moments with the characters. Each actor brings a small part of their favorite story to life. Eddie is star struck and the kids playing Peter and Wendy are kind about it. They get him talking after a minute and Eddie finally unfurls from his shell enough to truly open up. Soon, the young man and woman playing out this fantasy know about Steve and Charlie and their trip to the happiest place on earth. Steve does his best to stay to the side so Eddie can thoroughly enjoy, but he’s not immune to Eddie’s contagious charisma that oozes from him.
A smile graces Steve’s lips each time Eddie gestures affectionately in his direction. By the end of the interaction, no one is immune to that level of happiness.
When the time to take pictures comes around, Steve tries to stay where he’s been, lingering off to the side, but neither Eddie nor Peter and Wendy are having it. He’s being called over and Steve is helpless to do anything but listen to Eddie’s gentle prodding. The words “we do this together” ring in Steve’s ears as the flash goes off over and over. With each click, Eddie holds him closer.
“I can’t believe that just happened,” Eddie says as they’re herded back towards the exit a minute or two later. Steve holds the prints of their interaction in his hand, each prepaid dollar absolutely worth it. The tone of Eddie’s voice says he too agrees with that assessment. So does the happily uttered “to Neverland, indeed.”
Smiling at the perfect opening, Steve stops them just outside the bulk of the crowd.
“Speaking of,” Steve mutters, his voice dipping as he digs in his pocket. The small box is easy to fish out, fitting in Steve’s palm nicely. “I gave Charlie her’s last night.” He opens the box then, showing off two rings on chains, intimately nestled together. “Life with you and our girl is a trip to Neverland every moment of every day, Eddie. You two bring magic to life just by existing but I got us these reminders, just in case. I’ll always adventure anywhere with you.”
Eddie’s fingers shake as he pulls at one of the rings. He traces the edge of it before turning it the way Steve’s been waiting for him to do. The inscription “to Neverland, always” takes up the circumference of white gold and will sit nicely over both their hearts. Steve can’t help but laugh at the perfect way it fits around Eddie’s neck.
Steve isn’t prepared for the awestruck look in Eddie’s eyes as he wraps Steve’s necklace around his neck, too. Eddie takes his time doing up the clasp, his fingertips brushing teasingly along Steve’s skin. When Eddie pulls back, he looks satisfied by the gooseflesh overtaking all of the tanned flesh making up Steve’s neck and shoulder. That’s probably why he doesn’t even blink an eye in surprise when Eddie leans in close, when his usually shy significant other presses their lips together. Steve’s expecting it, for once happy to be on the other end receiving it, too.
The kiss is quick but the intimacy of the moment remains. Eddie rests their foreheads together, their breaths shared. It’s kind of perfect.
“I love you,” Eddie says, like the words are easy now, twenty years and one child later. Maybe they are. Or maybe they’re a little different. Their love most certainly is.
Steve smiles at the thought and returns the words, the truth of them lingering.

Seven Sentence Sunday
just becasue I've actually managed to get some writing done today, have a section of what was supposed to be a short fic to get me back into writing mode for my time travel AU but instead has become a monster in its own right 😂😭
Eddie and Buck take Christopher to Disneyland at the start fo the school holidays and Chris is practically vibrating with excitement in his seat the entire car journey there, chatting away at a million miles an hour about all the things he wants to do and where he wants to eat.
A couple of weeks ago, they had sat down with Chris for a video call with one of the Disney cast members to go through the DAS advance program and Buck had downloaded the genie app to his phone in readiness.
The evening prior to their trip had the three of them sat around the table in the Diaz dining room planning which rides they wanted to go on.
Christopher writing a list and numbering them in order of preference.
Once he had gone to bed, Eddie and Buck settled onto the sofa, Buck nestled between Eddies legs, with a beer each and the tv on in the background.
Buck had set about planning a route around the park and how to make the most of their day so they could achieve as much as possible while Eddie sat and watched him with the fondest smile on his face, running his fingers through Bucks hair.
Buck had mentioned wanting to ride splash mountain before it was closed for its transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure “So they could go back in a couple of years and compare the upgraded technology and animatronics with what the ride was currently using.”

There Are Monsters Nearby [Chapter 6]
🏜 Pairing: Grian/Scar
🧟‍♂️ Tags: zombie AU, zombie apocalypse, lovers to exes, slow burn, eventual reconciliation
📖 Summary: The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
Chatper 6 - Walking through the wasteland that is Anaheim, Grian allows Scar to talk him into taking a detour to the happiest place on earth.
📝 Words: 7,523
🔗 Link: Read Chapter 6 on AO3
“Cub told me the parks had shut down. We didn’t know why at the time, of course, but… they’ve been closed. I doubt there was anyone there other than a handful of maintenance staffers when things went sideways, and they weren’t going to stay at their post and go down with the ship… I don’t think going there will be any more or less dangerous than us being out here in the open, wandering down the middle of the freeway.”
Grian doesn’t respond, taking Scar’s words in and trying desperately to see the sense in them.
He breathes out through his nose, calming his racing pulse as best he can.
“I just want to look,” Scar adds, a gentler bargain than Grian deserves. “See the castle from a distance, take a peek at the front gates… we’re heading in that direction anyway.”
Grian chews at the inside of his mouth, struggling against the tide of petulance that rises up to battle the despair within him; the dismal sense that he’s already lost. That he lost the moment Scar saw the road sign in the first place.
It’s not that he doesn’t feel Scar has earned this. Before things had all gone wrong he liked to imagine that he’d always been happy to indulge the easy passions in Scar’s life.
It’s simply the reality of their current situation- the persistent pressure of his anxiety, placed like a heel against his throat- that rankles him, causing him to twist in on himself with a defensive pettiness he knows is unfair.
“We look at it as we walk by,” he manages after a silence that stretches on too long, offering the words like a magnanimous compromise—like he hadn’t been thoroughly shaken by Scar’s threat to leave. “We don’t get carried away.”
When he looks up, Scar is beaming at him.
We're back with another chapter of our zombie au! This one was really fun for us to write- I've always been a sucker for the history of the Disney parks, so I loved having a chance to ramble about my favourite parts of them.
You can read the whole story thus-far linked below!

I’m fairly new to the fandom, but I do have a question if you can answer it! Why do people ship Daigo with Aoki / Masato? I tried looking to see if they’ve interacted before, but couldn’t find anything! Sorry for asking I’m just </3 dumb AND I LOVE YOUR ART OF THEM!!! Nerd looking ahhhhhh
hi ! welcome to the community i hope you're having a lovely time so far and ty for enjoyin my stuff :) no need for apologies it's a very fair question to have :]
i cant speak for everyone (all. ten people into masadai anyway) but Personally To Me i just think the idea of them together is very funny. thats quite literally it im afraid..
#snap chats#//twenty page google doc in the background// ignore that. it's mostly for comedic purposes#might also be my fault idk sorry about that. allegedly. idk ive had like three people tell me they started to ship them cause of me 🧍‍♂️#@mementoasts is another person who's drawn masadai and whose stuff i love and am inspod by .. i love their disneyland fic sm ...#there was another artist on twitter who posted a neat drawing of them but i cant remember who they were and i didnt bookmark it //screams//#recently there's been ANOTHER masadai artist ive started following on twitter - @wifekiryu. his account's n/s/f/w fyi before you go looking#he has a tumblr too @foxdies. i say cause i realized as much recently vjeaKLGJALKGJ#oh but I GUESS ill get deeper into why. /i/ personally ship masadai or whatever#first off they're opposing factions yet their character alignments Do Not Match their roles. stereotypically anyway#aoki who leads the 'surface' of society and is meant to be an admirable figure and someone 'just' when really. he sucks LMAO#though that's not atypical of politicians but just from a stereotypical This Is A Respectable Individual perspective of his role#daigo on the other hand leads the 'underbelly' of society- yk comprised of dangerous criminals and outcasts and whatnot#yet as we know him daigo's compassionate and considerate of his men- he doesnt treat them like tools like aoki does#if put in a room with the two daigo would be most people's choice of person to hang out with. probably open a trapdoor on aoki tbh#and i think thats really cool and epic i always love that kinda Subverting Expectations thing#theres also the fact they both started off like. edgy/angsty in the franchise and then brush up down the line#masato does a stronger 180. publicly. obviously but its still really funny they both have to get their act together#if you wanna talk about in-text reasons. there really is none LMAO I TELLS YOU masadai is pure crack#but if i wanted to pull a muscle reaching then there's daigo being on aoki's side while everyone else is on arakawa's during the funeral#im lying of course. mitsu was behind him. rgg tryna make me forget mitsu exist .... put him back in y8 ....#and ofc ichi joins that side to even out the seating but moving on another Goofy Reason is arakawa being like#'the chairman and my son are like p much the same age Surely he knows how he thinks :)'#and then i just think daigo being all smarmy about outsmarting aoki is really goofy and im choosing to interpret that as personal#they both also have issues with their dad. s. dad/s/. anyway.#tbh the google doc tag was a joke but i really could sit here and list every dumb reason why i think theyre funny together#like i started going over the tag limit so uhhhh yeah needless to say i have a lot of. dumb reasons 💀💀💀💀#one day ill use the main text for long rambles like this but todays not that day Point Is my imagination is rampant im afraid#so the short and sweet of it is I Think It's Funny. And They'd Be Terrible Together. Which Is Why It's Funny.#and the unfortunate part is anything i find funny i obsess over for a year so. //gestures to the mountain of bullshit thats my masadai tag/

... so anyway, I'm a lying liar who lies about not drawing for the rest of the month. If I say I'm gonna "doodle something real quick and then write", grab my access to Clip Studio Paint and all my tablets, and run.
One is a sketch/color test based on a scene in the staircase fic and inspired heavily by Eyvind Earle's work for Disney's Sleeping Beauty. The other is me feeling a bit spicy and also letting my brain build up on a sliver of an idea. But it's mostly me feeling a little bit spicy, as a treat.

Pairing: Quill x (GN) Reader
⚠️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️ : THIS FIC IS ABOUT PERIODS. THE READER WILL BE REFERRED TO WITH EXCLUSIVELY THEY/THEM PRONOUNS, BUT THEY DO HAVE THEIR PERIOD IN THIS FIC. WOMEN ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE PERIODS.
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1K
Plot Summary: Y/N gets their period and turns to Peter for help.
Y/N was in despair.
They had entered the bathroom, only to realize it was, once again, that time of the month. Of course, since they were no longer on Terra, they had trouble keeping track of what day it was there. Since the times on the planets they visited with their fellow guardians of the galaxy were completely inconsistent, they were more focused on molding their schedule to fit into the planets they visited than on when their period would show up. When they realized it had come back, all they could think was, “Already?” Then it hit them. All of their period products were in their room. What were they going to do? They couldn't get up to go get them, otherwise their- by some miracle- spotless underwear would be ruined. They could always use toilet paper, but it was never truly effective. The idea hit them like a train on a track (yes, that was on purpose.) “Peter!” they yelled out.
Their best friend in the whole entire galaxy, Peter Quill was the only one they trusted to enter their room. Lucky for them, he just happened to be in the next room over. They waited, rather impatiently, for him to yell in reply, but no reply came. “Peter Jason Quill!!!” they shouted, hoping he'd notice they used his full name. “Don't call me that, Y/N M/N L/N!” he retorted almost instantly.
“Peter, can you do me a favor?”
“That depends on what it is, Y/N.”
“Can you come here?”
“You want me to come into the bathroom with you?”
“NO. Just- come here, man!”
Silence followed Y/N’s command, and footsteps came right after. They heard Peter speak, now at a regular volume. “What's up, asshole?” Y/N hesitated, trying to find the right words to explain the situation. “Well… I can't really get up, but I need something from my room. Can you get it for me? Please?” they pleaded. “Well, that depends on what it is,” he replied. “It's under my bed. In a box. It's wrapped in orange plastic. Don't open it, just hand it to me” Y/N instructed. “Well… alright.” Peter said as he walked away.
Y/N waited. Even though they trusted Peter, they couldn't shake the feeling that he'd mess up somehow. It wasn't that they thought Peter wasn't capable of getting it right, it was… well it was that. They waited anxiously for his return, as what seemed like hours passed. He returned, opened the door, and stuck his hand in, holding the pad. Y/N breathed a sigh of relief, and put it on.
“What is that thing, anyway?” Peter asked Y/N as they left the bathroom. “It's a pad,” they replied casually. Peter gave them a puzzled look. “What the hell is a pad?” he asked. “It protects your clothes when you get your period.” Y/N explained. “OH! I know what those are!” he exclaimed, seeming excited to know what Y/N was talking about for once. “My mom explained them to me!” he clarified, grinning. Then it dawned on him how his mom will would always be in pain when she had them, and how she explained that they were usually very painful. His grin vanished almost instantly.
“Wait- are you okay? Do you need anything?” “Aww, I'm okay, dude,” Y/N reassured him. “It just hurts a little bit. That explains why I was in pain all morning, now doesn't it?” they joked. Peter did not find it funny. He cared deeply about Y/N, and seeing them in pain just about broke his heart. “No. Come on, I'm going to take you to your room.” he deadpanned. “Wait, wh-” Y/N was cut off by Peter, as he grabbed them by their waist and lifted them up before they even realized what happened.
“Okay, do you need anything else?” Peter asked after he had put Y/N in their bed, and gotten them water. “I didn't need anything in the first place, Peter.” Y/N replied coldly. They were still in shock from getting carried by Peter. There was something about it that made them feel like they were going insane. They were blushing the entire time, and Rocket making fun of them while they were on the way didn't exactly help.
“Come on, let me take care of you. Please?” he practically begged. “Well… fine. I don't need anything else, but… can you stay?” Y/N wanted him to stay, more than anything. They liked it when the two of them were together like this. They loved being with all of the guardians, but there was something different about being with Peter. They couldn't explain exactly how, but they knew they liked it. It was the kind of different that would make even those who despised change feel open to it. Even though the guardians are all the same when it comes down to it, he felt different to Y/N somehow. When they asked that question, Peter, who was frowning at the time, smiled. It was nice to feel wanted. “Well, of course!” he answered.
They had been talking for what felt like minutes, but was actually hours. One thing led to another, and eventually they were laying side by side, laughing at each other's jokes. Y/N yawned, and Peter looked at them almost lovingly. “Well,” he sat up, looking down at Y/N. “I should go, you're tired and you need your rest.” he told them. “Noooo…” they whined, their tiredness becoming more prominent by the minute. “Please stay, Pete.” Y/N pleaded. Peter laid back down in defeat, and almost instantly felt Y/N wrap their arms around him. It made him feel warm. The kind of warmth you would feel after coming home to freshly baked cookies. At first the sudden touch made his whole body stiffen, but then it was as if he melted into it.
He had never felt this way about anyone before. Not about any of his friends, not about any of the people he'd slept with. He didn't know what this feeling was. All he knew was that it was new, and he liked it. But, of course it was platonic. Like advanced friendship. Right?
(A/N: don't you just love it when people are oblivious to their own feelings? I don't. But it's fun as hell to write! ☺️)

Prompt for Batfam Fic.
Jason had had enough he needed a vacation. A mindless fun vacation with civies. Come to think about it the entire family needs a vacation. They had 2 separate Alien invasions and 4 Arkham breakouts in the last two weeks alone. They needed a vacation ASAP.
Dick was not looking good He looks like he was getting about as much sleep as Tim. Tim was halfway in the grave with amount of sleep he was getting. Damian, well he was Damian he was a bite more Stabby than normal. Even Cass and Barbara were a little testy.
“That’s it” Jason yelled “we are going to Fucking Disneyland.”
It was the first place Jason could think of that didn’t require a lot or thought. No one in their family would ever say to having a normal childhood and it would be kind of nice.
He would also like to blame Roy as the jerk had one told him that he would be the only person who could go on the Haunted mansion and go on the ride with his death certificate.
Jason smiled he was so going to take it an take a picture with it in front of the mansion.

it is a truth universally acknowledged that i will write entire stories in my head, but then never following through with actually writing them down.
like the urge to have a slow burn enemies to lovers texacali fic with the tropes of it was all a bet, tex fell first and harder, bucket lists of fun dates, forced proximity, there was only one bed, mutual pining, and most importantly, the hand touch ™?
i just have a lot of feelings for it and i cry thinking it’ll never happen.😭

We Are Mandalorians: Our Love Must Be Forged (An AxePaz Fic)—Chapter 7
I’m literally so proud of myself for figuring out how to schedule Chapter 6 last week, so let’s see if I can recreate the magic this week!...Because this delightful Friday I am going to Disneyland, once again sans computer!!! YAY!!! Here’s Chapter 7, read on and enjoy!
“Damnit!”
Axe cursed loudly as a blaster bolt struck him in an unguarded part of his leg. It took all of his strength to not collapse, but his vision was suddenly blurred and he could hardly stand.
Paz hurled Axe’s vibroblade at the Imperial who had shot him; the trooper went down as the blade sunk deep into his neck. Paz took out the trooper’s partner almost as quickly, firing four quick shots that were enough to break through the beskar alloy covering the Imperial’s chest. To be sure, Paz retrieved the vibroblade from the first trooper and stabbed the other.
“Are you alright?” Paz asked. Axe ripped off his helmet, now that it was safe to do so, as the pain made it hard for him to catch his breath.
“Fine,” he said, his voice sharp. “Luck of the draw,” he muttered in the dead Imperial’s direction. “Let’s keep moving.”
Paz watched him limp forward for a moment, then caught up. “We’re both in rough shape, Axe,” he said. Despite the power and roughness of Paz’s voice, at the moment it contained a stunning amount of tenderness. “We should rest.” When Axe started to protest, he cut in. “Think of it this way: we stand a better chance of surviving future skirmishes if we take time to sit now. I have ration bars and water, and you need to get off that leg for as long as possible.”
Axe hated to stop pushing forward, but the reality was that there was nowhere on the planet they would be truly safe. They might as well accept it and have a time-out.
He sat down right where he was, leaning his back against a small mound of rock. Paz chuckled and sat next to him, shoulder to shoulder. “Better?”
“You told me so, is that what you want to hear?” Axe closed his eyes, listening to the dripping of water from the cavern roof to the floor. “Yes, it’s much better.”
Paz dug out his food supplies from the small containers attached to his belt. He handed Axe a canteen first. “We should be able to sanitize puddle water with a blaster shot when we run low,” he said. “At least, I think so.”
“Yeah, it would really bite to be killed by cave water when there are actual people trying to hunt us down.”
Paz actually laughed, a hoarse, deep, rumbling sound that Axe loved from the split-second he heard it. “I’ll take first watch,” he said. “Once you’re asleep I can eat.”
“I have to bandage my leg first. It’s not bleeding, but it needs attention.”
Paz pulled out a tiny container of bacta salve from his belt-of-all-trades. “Let me help. Consider it a start on repaying my debt if you must—”
“Paz, we’re well past that. I need help and I have absolutely no problem accepting it from you.”
“Can you blame me for wondering? You’re so stubborn,” Paz said, some of that laughter still in his tone. He inspected the wound site, gently yet firmly gripping Axe’s upper thigh and knee, one hand on either side of the injury. “I’ve seen worse, but my supplies are limited and there’s no guarantee of help later.” Paz didn’t have to voice the possibility of it getting worse for it to be clear.
“We have bigger concerns if there’s nobody else left,” Axe said. He was adept at putting up a brave front; at distracting himself and anyone around him from his pain. Besides, he was right, wasn’t he? Those older folks had survived on Mandalore since it was destroyed, but he and Paz didn’t know what strategies they used. If there was nobody left, they would probably die of starvation or the elements, or they’d be successfully hunted down by the Imperials eventually. His leg was the least of their worries.
But Paz seemed to worry about it. He shook his head as he rubbed bacta into the damaged flesh, his broad hands so much kinder and more sympathetic than Axe would ever have imagined they could be, even despite the clumsiness still in them from his own wounds. “Drink more,” he urged, pulling out a roll of bandages. “You can’t heal without water.”
“You old softie,” Axe muttered, so quietly he wasn’t even sure Paz heard him. The ache in his leg had created a similar feeling in his stomach, though, and he didn’t have much confidence that he could keep down anything beyond what he had already consumed.
What little confidence he did have vanished instantly when Paz bandaged the area that was directly injured, and a sharp spike of pain induced an even sharper spike of nausea. He leaned forward, his head resting against the knee of his other leg, which was bent to keep him more stably upright.
“Easy,” Paz whispered. He finished tying off the bandage quickly and took Axe by the shoulders. “Here, lean against me. The beskar isn’t the best pillow, I’ll admit, but I think you’ll agree that I’m soft enough.”
Axe closed his eyes, allowing Paz to guide him into a position curled against his side. “So you did hear that,” he muttered, teeth clenched as he spoke.
“Of course I did,” Paz replied. “Battle, silence, it’s all the same—my brain seems hardwired for picking up your voice.”
Before he fell asleep, Axe couldn’t help but laugh a little at the way Paz’s words echoed his own, spoken not too long ago. If we get out of this, he thought, still clinging to some small bit of hope, we will be perfect material for those who craft the heroes’ songs.
