The ocean was cold as Jack dove in, reminding him of the last time he'd jumped into water to save his best friend.  Circumstances were different – Mac wasn't shot, as far as Jack knew – but that didn't matter to Jack's sense memory. 

This time, Mac had been pushed or thrown off a cliff high above the water.  He'd hit hard and at a bad angle.  Jack, who'd been searching the shore for him, hadn't hesitated to plunge into the waves. 

He dragged Mac to shore and was dismayed to find that he wasn't breathing.  Jack's training took over, and he gave Mac a couple of rescue breaths.

"Come on, breathe, breathe," Jack anxiously watched Mac's chest, waiting for his partner to take a breath.  "Don't you dare--"

A choked gurgle interrupted Jack's pleading. 

"Yes!  Yes, that's it."  Jack rolled Mac onto his side and rubbed his back.  "Let it all out, bud."

Mac coughed and spit out the water he'd inhaled.  He was shivering; they both were.  Damn that freezing Pacific ocean. 

Jack had never been happier that Mac hadn't used his cell phone for some thingamabob on this mission.  He pulled it out and made the call to Matty, asking for a medevac and Tac team to their location.

I wanted to say something about the Harry/Brad bullshit fan-tasies doing the rounds.

Brad is H's personal trainer, which may very well involve a whole range of things depending on Brad's skills and qualifications and H's needs, including: planning his exercise regime, supervised gym work, running buddy, dietary advisor, massage therapy, physio, arranging any necessary medical treatments and medication/vitamin-mineral supplements.

Given H's level of fitness and the amount of work he puts his body through during a concert, I can imagine Brad is working with him many hours of each day to help H maintain his body in peak condition. This type of close personal working relationship would require both to have a high level of trust in each other, and I can't see H having someone in such a role that he also didn't like, aka, they're friendly if not friends, and likely H, who shows himself to be close and affectionate with friends, genuinely enjoys his company.

Hope this clears things up for anyone confused by someone doing their job and people having a close and friendly working relationship.

I think one of the biggest tragedies of Laios & Falin and their relationship is how much his actions impact her life. But like. Specifically how much they WOULDN’T impact her life as much if they weren’t both stuck in such a shitty abusive situation.

This part of the Falin-tries-makeup daydream hour comic is what got me thinking about it again because truly it just... it seems like such a like an offhand comment that I'm sure Laios didn't mean to be cruel or anything. That's just like. A little kid not thinking about what they are saying. ESPECIALLY when the kid in question is Laios.

But man they depended on each other SO much as kids. Too much. It really feels like they didn't have any other source of positive reinforcement, or anyone else to share themselves with. So of course an offhand comment like that has a huge impact on Falin.

Or this little bit from one of the flashbacks:

This tears me apart. Do you think it tears him apart to think about? I think it does. I think Laios holds every small failure to care for Falin against himself.

And then there's the Bigger stuff. The way that him coping with his own trauma ended up impacting her.

Like his interest in monsters. Like him going to find a ghost, and accidentally revealing Falin's magic to the whole village in the process.

Like him needing to leave. And leaving her behind.

He shaped her life so much, and he carries so much guilt for it. And again, there should have been other people there to help. The same things that made Laios need to leave home are the things that made his leaving so hard on Falin. She ate alone after that. She shouldn't have had to eat alone just because Laios wasn't there.

She was 9 when he left for school, and he was 11.

Nine. And Laios feels like he failed her because he didn't stand by her through this better. As an eleven year old.

Both of these kids deserved so much better from the world.

Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what

Danny, 15 and thoroughly done with everyone's crap, steals the Crown of Fire and the Skeleton Key and uses the later to find a suitable new High King for the Infinite Realms. The key (also known as Deaths kay) acted like a sort of Infi-map but lacked the limitations of needing a natural portal to spawn in that time/location and could get you past any wards/protections no mater how powerful.

The key spawns him just in front of the form of a sleeping Jason Todd, and Danny decided he wasn't going to question the magical keys judgment and just plops the crown on a bleary and startled Jasons head.

The crown burned for this guy, signaling that it found him worthy and that was more than enough for Danny.

With no context whatsoever, Danny looked Jason in the eye, burning neon green meeting with wide greenish blue, "You're our king now."

Then he vanished.

Jason later finds that the Lazarus entity left behind a handmade pamphlet. It was immensely unhelpful.
