Fun thing I noticed in inscryption
So, when I was in geography we started learning about the 4 main types of industries. And I feel like it fits the four Scrybes PERFECTLY.
Tumblr media
Get ready for my nerd rambling, because I have a lot to say.
So, there are like 4 types of industries. The first type is called primary industries. They are industries where the product is resources taken from the earth. Fishing and mining are good examples. Which is exactly why I think it fits Leshy so well. Literally, the angler if a fisherman, prospector is a miner, and the pelt making man (I forgot his name) collects fur.
The second type of industry takes the resources from the primary industries and shapes them into something new. So basically all manufacturing. The dredger literally takes random trash from the ocean, the melter forms them into different shapes, and the inspector inspects them.
The third type of industry is all things service. So like your doctors, cashiers, customer service, and funeral directors (Cough cough Grimora cough cough). Most jobs people work in are service jobs now, because it usually requires less education and is actually very important. Respect customer service, people! They do so much for us.
Lastly, we have the 4th type industry. This one is actually a type of service, but is so important that it has it's own section. And it's also very new. This industry the collection and sharing of information. So like researching, most lab jobs, and education. Which is exactly why magnificus is the 4th industry, because he shares information on how to work with magic to his poor pupils.
So yeah, that's my random nerd ramble. Honestly, imagine how cool inscryption would be if all four of them just worked together. I mean, literally the way their world works is built off each other in an economic way, too. I doubt Daniel mullens intended on the similarities between the four Scrybes and the four types of industry, but it works like soooo well.

Economic geography economies of scale
economies of scale and scope and agglomeration/dispersion with disposable container industry, in terms of the number of types of disposable container a single firm produces. Is it better to specialize and have a big chain of subcontracters, or is it better to centralize productions

how to study for social studies subjects
I’d like to think that one of my strongest focuses is social studies. I love learning about history, economics, government, e.t.c. and I do well on tests! I thought that most people had it easy when it came to these subjects, but throughout working with peers and friends, I realized that wasn’t true, so here are some tips to get through those subjects:
Memorizing will be your friend: This is one of my biggest tips that I still use for my social studies subjects. Memorize, memorize, memorize! Of course, you should first understand a concept or term before memorizing it, but it helps so much to know words. I use quizlet and knowt.io to help me memorize, but you can use a variety of ways to remember. This is especially helpful for tests, as you can help fill in the blank when reading through questions and other readings.
Trick your brain: One of the reasons I was so good at social studies subjects was because I was interested in politics and government. I’m really interested in the controversial aspect of politics, which helped me understand forms and branches of government, how the economy works, e.t.c. I’ve recently heard this tip on the internet, where people trick their brain into thinking that the subject they are learning is like lore for a tv show or novel, and it worked. Your brain will probably be more likely to learn if you make it enjoyable.
Use a variety of resources: A lot of social studies subjects will have more interesting and engaging resources to use, rather than like physics with a boring textbook and some reference videos. Topics like politics will have a wide variety of books, articles, news reports, movies, and even TV shows covering them. After understanding the concepts and things you may need to know, watching a political TV show can be a form of studying! You can learn to apply, discuss, and critique different forms and resources to apply to the thing you are studying.
Find ways to connect to the modern world: Social studies subjects are one of the easiest to connect to the media and the news; you will often find articles and reporters speaking about the economy, what's going on in the supreme court, and who is voting or pushing for what agenda. If you ever need to find examples to help you learn and study, just watch the news! It’s a great resource, and can help you apply what you are learning to the real world. Oftentimes, test-makers will give a question set in a scenario, where a country is going into a recession and you may have to explain ways to solve or help it e.t.c. so the news is a great resource to see it real time.

page 553 - I breathe again and the mountains have changed.
Imperceptibly but definitely.
Time loses meaning in the darkness down here. But still my brain spins and my heart races and it's good to breathe deeply, to slow down and to attempt a better grasp on things.
The air is murky, but there is no food and water only in drips, so a deep breath is the only thing available to fill me up.

There should be more content on the systemic rivalry of Curtain as a theatre kid and Milligan as a
#The other adults can be there too#Like Mr. B as the bookish kid and Garrison as part of the STEM club#(they impeached her as president because she kept pushing them to do *slightly* illegal activities)#OR#Even better it's like all of them being school teachers of different subjects#Curtain's still theatre and Milligan's PE#But. Like. Fun PE where he makes up adventure scenarios to motivate students and plays fun music and gets them engaged#Mr. B's the librarian#Number Two's the shop teacher and she's scary good at it#Maybe she also helps with lunches I'm not sure#And Miss Perumal's the Home Economics teacher and she's fantastic but also teaches self defense because “It counts as Home Econ”#Wait maybe Curtain's the principle too but nobody listens to him and he just sends out crazed announcements through the PA system#And all the teachers listen politely and then are like “Anyways—”#Maybe Rhonda's the Home Econ teacher actually#And Miss Perumal's the geography/social sciences teacher#Actually that's much better#And she takes the kids on the best field trips#But she Rhonda and Number Two still teach self-defense#Curtain doesn't want them to but Milligan lets them into the gym after school's over and hangs out with them while they do it#Actually I've changed my mind Moocho is in charge of the school kitchen#And sometimes he sneaks Number Two in there and they experiment together#Mr. B is the absolute best librarian and he's just so nice and comforting and supportive#He teaches a course every semester about internet safety and how to properly fact-check things so you know what's true#He makes the library super calm and inviting and it's full of soft green plaid plush chairs#And they're not just in the open spaces either#There's lots of little hidden areas where people can go and sit and read if they don't want to be bothered#He lets kids take naps in there sometimes if they're having a bad day#And gives them tea and talks to them#And then of course his brother shows up and tells him off for letting a student skip class#And he apologises as bunch (But he doesn't stop doing it)
