Todoroki Family Chronicles
Ivy: How you feeling, baby? *kisses Enji’s forehead, handing him some tea*
Enji: Much better. *sips the tea* Thank you.
Ivy: You’re welcome. I’m glad you feel better, but I hate that you missed your birthday because you were sick.
Enji: It’s fine, honey, really. I’m just more of an old man than I was last year.
Ivy: Doesn’t matter how old you are, you still deserve to be celebrated. The kids wanna take you out to dinner.
Enji: They do?
Ivy: Mhm. They believe you deserve to be celebrated, too. What do you think?
Enji: Well… I-
Fuyumi: *opens the bedroom door* Daddy’s awake! Come on!
Enji: What’s this?
Ivy: I don’t know, let’s see.
Touya: *carrying a cake* Happy birthday, Dad!
Fuyumi: Happy birthday, Dad!
Shoto: Happy birthday, Dad!
Natsuo: Happy birthday, Dad! You’re old.
Enji: *sigh* Thank you, kids. *holding the cake so the kids can climb on the bed* Where did you get this from? Is it a strawberry shortcake?
Fuyumi: Yep! Me and mom made it.
Shoto: I helped!
Natsuo: Hey, me too!
Touya: And me!
Enji: Oh really?
Ivy: Me and Yumi made the cake, the boys licked the utensils and washed dishes.
Enji: Ohhhh. Now that I believe.
Shoto: Light the candles already!
Enji: Alright, alright. *ignites his finger, lighting the four candles on the cake*
Ivy and the kids: Haaaappy biiiiirthdaaaayyyy tooo youuu. Haaaappy biiiiirthdaaaayyyy tooo youuu. Haaaaappy biiiiirthdaaaayyyy dearrrrr Daaaaddyyyyy. Haaaaappy biiiiirthdaaaayyyy tooo youuuuuuu.
Ivy: Make a wish!
Natsuo: Yeah, dad. Make a wish!
Enji: *closes his eyes to make a wish then opening them again and blowing out his candles*
Ivy and the kids: YAAAAAY!!
Enji: Thank you all so much. Group hug!
Ivy: *grabs the cake and sets it aside to hug Enji and the kids*
Kids: *crawl close for the hug*
Enji: I love you all so so so so much.
Fuyumi: We love you, too.
Boys: Yeah!
Ivy: Very very much. *kisses him*
Enji: Thank you, baby. Now, who wants sushi for dinner?
Kids: I do! I do! I do!
Enji: Then go get ready. Baths for all of you cause WHEW! *shooing them away*
Shoto: Hey! I don’t stink!
Enji: You’d be surprised with what comes out of those little armpits. Go bathe.
Shoto: Fiiiiiiiine. *leaving with his siblings*
Ivy: *trying not to laugh* You didn’t have to expose him like that.
Enji: But I can. Cause it’s my birthday. *looking smug*
Ivy: *rolls her eyes* Yeah, yeah. You’re the birthday boy. I love you, sweetie.
Enji: I love you, too, baby. *pulls her in for a kiss*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ENJI!!!! 🎉🎂🥳🎈🎊🎁😘

Anonymous asks
I am perfectly fine with anyone using anonymous asks, I personally use them a lot. However if you use anonymous asks, please put a emoji(s) or a letter(s) as your signature. Just put it at the bottom of your ask and I'll add it to the list
Used Letters:
Used Emojios:
I will write
Different AU's: I can do all diffrent types! Pirate, mafia, hybrid, fantasy, royalty, mermaid, soulmates, mall workers, vampires, ghosts, ect. Or if you have your own AU and would like me to do somthing with it I can tolltally do that to.
Omegaverse: I know not everyone likes this trope but i'm a absaloute sucker for it. I can do Alpha, Beta, or Omega for charecters or Reader. I do write heats but not in a sexual way, i personally write them kinda like a human period but replace the blood with increased body tempetures.
Any Gender: I am personally genderfluid and AFAB so those are the two that I would have the most experience with. However if you want me to do somthing like a trans reader or AMAB reader than I can try my best. Don't be afraid to make it specific to you, everone is diffrent and I understand trying to look for something that fits you more than the stereotypes.
Crossovers: I don't see a lot of creators in any fandom doing crossovers a lot. I see like *Insert charecter* x reader with *insert other character* personality but not really crossovers. So feel free to request a crossover with a diffrent show.
Any skin color: I love having variety in my writing so I will do any skin colors. I can do basic skin colors, from pale peach to dark brown. I can also do exstream versions like skin that is nearly paper white from how pale it is or skin that us nearly space black from how dark it is. I can also do unnatural skin colors, like Mina!
Alterhuman Reader: Ok so I see absaloutly no alterhuman reader fanfics out there so i'm here to change that. I'm not personally a alterhuman but I do have a few freinds that are. If you want me to do a specific one instead of basic I can also do that. Like instead of a dragon kin I can do a dragon kin with space wing and starts eyes with claws that glow in the dark ect.
Body Marks: I personally have stretch marks, moles, freckles, and odd placed birthmarks so I can do any of these or others if you would like. If you are specifically extra self-conscious of your body marks than I can add extra levels of love to specific part if you would like :)
Feel free to requests anything as long as it's not in my will not write list!
I will not write
Abuse: I will not do the character inflicting pain on the reader or the reader inflicting pain on the charecter. I can do mentions of past abuse, such as a charecter or reader flinching at touch or loud noise.
Cheating: character doing it to reader or reader doing it to character is just a big no. I never understood cheating, if you don't love somone just break up with them. If you can't do it for safety reson than find a support system to protect you in dangerous situations.
Misscarage: I have lost three sibling to this and I still cry at night thinking of them, please don't ask me to do anything to do with this subject. If you do I will give you 1 warning and then I'm blocking you.
Abortion: I don't really have a side here but I don't like the though of writing it as it makes me uncomfortable.
Rape/SA: I don't feel comfortable doing this subject. I can not do mentions of it as I have not personally experienced it and don't want to miss somthing or do something wrong.
NSFW: I may be a yandere blog but I do not wish to do anything sexual on this blog, only romantic and platonic here.
Note
Don't worry about being cringe with me! As long as your not hurting anyone than why should I stop you from having fun? Fell free to be your authentic self and request somthing super specific if you want.

“Not everything is fake…”
CC x My OC, Dabi x Snowy, Gay OC, Somewhat Angst, BnHA, Quirkless AU, Fake Death, Boyfriends
This is my first time posting this fanfic tho
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Genkan Shima was supposed to be a police officer just like his father wanted but instead, he didn’t become a police officer because this wasn’t what he wanted.
Touya Todoroki was a police officer because he wanted to impress his father Enji Todoroki but it wasn’t always working the way he wanted.
Genkan and Touya became boyfriends through dating apps but Touya didn’t know his boyfriend was hiding something from him. Something dark.
“I’m home, babe.” A cold voice called out as the door closed. He took his shoes off and then placed them down before heading to the living room. He eventually got no response so his lover must be still on his duty. He shrugged his jacket off and tossed it onto the chair across the couch. He plopped himself on the couch and lazily grabbed the remote from the coffee table. He pushed the button, turning the tv on.
The image of a blurred masked man appeared on the screen of the tv as if he was about to punch the camera. The reporter was beside the image, speaking up.
“It appeared he had escaped. Again. His latest victim had been found dead near the alleyway. His face was currently deformed. He had a single shot to his chest. I advise you to be safe and contact 911 if anything happens.”
The tv was turned off, only to see a pair of piercing electric blue staring back at him. He placed the remote down once he heard the door opening. He barely flinched at the sound of the door slamming shut. The grumbling was all he heard as a figure entered the living room.
“That bastard always slipped through my fingers!” A white-haired man complained, dropping venom in his tone. When he approached the couch where his boyfriend was sitting, he straight up sat on his lap and rested his head on his shoulder.
The cold fingers ran through his hair to ease his anger and another arm snaked around his waist, pulling him closer. “But you are Touya Todoroki. You can catch that bastard, kitty.” Genkan said, looking down at his grumpy lover.
The said man sighed slowly and looked up to meet the usual glare that didn’t bother him. He changed his position so he’d straddle his hips. He pecked his lips and placed his hands around his neck lovingly. “You always know how to wipe my worries, babe.” He whispered against his lips.
The black-haired man stared into his turquoise eyes and traveled his hands to his lover‘s hips. “That’s why you have me.” He whispered back, smirking a bit.
Touya chuckled and nuzzled his nose against his lover’s. He was glad that his boyfriend still encouraged him no matter what.
On the other hand, he didn’t notice Genkan was acting strangely.
As night came out, the shadowy figure stepped out of the shadow and stared at his client. “Good job on hiding your evidence just like you promised. Now I want you to…kill the next target of yours. Touya Todoroki.” The older man spoke, handing the picture of the police officer talking to the citizen. The hitman stayed dead silent after taking good look at the picture. “Well? You better—.”
He got cut off by the gunshot echoed. His eyes widened at his hired assassin as he held the gun in his hand, a smoke emitting from the hole of the gun. The bullet had lodged into his forehead.
The man’s body became numb and fell backward. The hitman glanced down at the lifeless body with a blank expression and lowered his gun. “I’m sorry but I can’t eliminate the love of my life.” He whispered lowly.
Suddenly the doors got kicked open as the police officers burst inside and aimed their guns at the hitman. One of them was Touya Todoroki. “We finally got you, bastard! There is no way out for you. We have S.W.A.T around outside.” He warned, smirking but it dropped when the hitman threw something at them. Turned out to be smoke bombs. The smoke filled in the room, causing everyone to cough. Touya caught a glimpse of black when it dashed past him.
Touya clicked his tongue and then chased after his killer, leaving his partner and others. The hitman seemed to head to the rooftop and slammed the door open. The police jumped onto his back, tackling him to the floor. The gun slipped out of the hitman’s grip and slid away from him. Touya rolled him on his back and grinned. He snatched the mask away.
However, his grin faltered away and his eyes went wider as his heart sank to his stomach. “G-Genkan? No…it can’t be…why…?” He whispered above the breeze.
Genkan calmly stared at his lover’s shocked expression. “I’m sorry that you had to see me like this…congrats. You got me.” He spoke.
After standing up, Touya barely proceeded and held his head. He avoided eye contact with his boyfriend. Genkan was standing on the edge of the rooftop. “He ordered me to kill you…but I killed him instead…if you want me to—.” He stopped when something lodged into his shoulder, forcing him to fall off the rooftop.
“No!!” Touya shouted, running over. He tried to reach out to grab his hand even though their fingers brushed against each other. Touya’s eyes got blurred with tears while Genkan stared at him. The blood spilled out of his wound.
Blacknette fell down from the rooftop and disappeared into the ocean within a big splash. Touya was left on the rooftop, devastated for his boyfriend.
His partner rushed over to him and placed a hand on his back, shouting but Touya couldn’t hear everything due to shock.
A month later
Touya got promoted for higher rank and bowed politely to the audience. He spotted someone familiar from behind the audience when he straightened his back up. He thanked his chief and team before heading to his…boyfriend.
“Congrats, kitty. I’m proud of you.” Genkan spoke in soft tone, pecking his boyfriend’s lips.
“Thanks to your fake death, I learned some moves from you. Since you are now unemployed, I’ll help you find job—.”
Genkan cut him off and said, “I don’t need your help…I can do it myself…”
Touya felt offended in playful manner but he smiled and interlocked their fingers as they walked away.
Sweet As Sugar
Tumblr media
1K Raffle Winner @vixenpen
Prompt: Todoroki Enji met Jada at her work and basically they are on their first date as sugar daddy x sugar baby. They hit it off well.
NOTE: This is NOT canon to my fics Dopamine and Blues In The Night.
Jada hummed to herself as she checked her cell phone, her black stiletto heels clicking against the sidewalk. She has a few minutes late to her first blind date of sorts. Even now, she still couldn’t believe she had actually created a profile on a sugar baby website, much less had gotten a match. Lord knows she could use the money, but could she really get down with some old crusty man?
Walking inside the exclusive restaurant, the ravenette smiled at the hostess, offering up the name she was given for the reservation, “Hi, I’m looking for the Todoroki reservation? He should be here already, I’m running a little late.”
“Oh,” The hostess looked surprised as she quickly typed away her computer behind the podium before not so subtly looking her up and down. “Please follow me.”
Jada rolled her eyes to herself as she followed behind the hostess, sucking her teeth. Well, I guess it’s pretty obvious I’m a sugar baby then. He must be ancient. The women continued to walk towards the back of the restaurant and into the private dining rooms. Wow, he even shelled out for a private dining room? He must be loaded.
The ravenette was brought out of her thoughts when the hostess abruptly stopped outside of a dining room, her arm outstretching towards the door, “Mr. Todoroki is right inside, Miss.”
Opening the sliding door, Jada stepped inside the room. “Hi, I’m Ja...da….” Her voice trailed off as her green eyes settled upon the face before her.
There seated at the table was none other than Todoroki Enji, better known as the Pro Hero: Endeavor. He was dressed in a burgundy suit, tailored perfectly to his muscular body, his turquoise blue eyes peering back at her.
“I’m sorry… I must be in the wrong room…” Jada almost whispered, her eyes still drinking in the sight of him.
“Are you ChocolateDreams87?” the man questioned as he turned toward her in his seat.
“Yes…” She breathed, unconsciously biting her bottom lip. “You’re Playingwith_fire?”
“I am,” Enji nodded. “So you’re in the right place after all. Have a seat.” The hero stood to his feet, walking around the table to pull out his chair for the dark-skinned beauty but she was still frozen in place. “What?” He paused, quirking a red brow. “Are you disappointed?”
“No! God no.” Jada laughed weakly as she snapped herself out of her thoughts. “I’m just surprised is all.”
Enji hummed in response as Jada walked over to him, having a seat before he returned to his chair opposite of her. Pulling out a pair of glasses from his jacket pocket, he placed them on his nose before opening up his menu, nodding toward the ravenette. “Order whatever you like. I’ll be picking up the check.”
Fuck, I really hit the jackpot. Shit he’s sexy. Jada hid a smirk behind her menu as she perused its contents. But still… something’s not right here. “Um, Enji? I can call you Enji, right?”
The hero quickly looked up at her in shock, surprised at how easily she could use his given name. “Y-yes. Yes, you may.”
“Enji… Why would a Pro Hero… a married Pro Hero with children… be on an arrangement website? Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy you’re here, but I am curious.”
A heavy sigh left Endeavor’s lips as he slowly lowered his menu, folding it and laying it down on the table. “Just so you understand, I will never leave my wife. She’s suffered enough.”
Jada quirked a brow, surprised by his answer. “So then why get a sugar baby on the side?”
“I hurt her and our marriage has been effectively over for some time now. That said, I continue to support her because that’s the very least I can do.”
“You still haven’t quite answered my question, Enji”
“Jada, is it?” The hero’s blue eyes locked on hers as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table as he absently stroked the red stubble on his chin, Jada nodding in response. “In case you haven’t noticed, I am a man. A man with certain… needs.” The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as the words fell from his lips, Jada becoming more and more intrigued. “While I will always love and care for my wife, that part of our relationship is over. I need someone who can discreetly fill the void. I was hoping you’d be the right woman for the job.”
Jada smirked from behind her menu before slowly lowering it down onto the table. The hero’s resolve began to subtly melt as she stood from her seat, worried that she was going to walk out, until her long legs began to stride toward him instead of retreating away.
As if she had known him all her life, Jada slowly slipped onto Enji’s lap, his large hands instantly finding a place to rest around the small of her back and her soft thighs. She giggled to herself as she gently removed his glasses from his face, folding the arms of his frames before sensually tucking them into the neckline of her low cut dress. Enji’s eyes followed her movements shamelessly, taking in an eyeful of her ample cleavage.
“Well, Enji…” Jada purred as she draped her arms over his impossibly broad shoulders, taking a moment to run her stiletto acrylic nails through his hair and scalp, causing the massive man to shudder. “I think that’s something I can handle. What do you say we skip right to consummating this deal?”
Endeavor couldn’t fight the smirk that pulled at his lips as he stared at the bold woman in his lap. He knew from their conversions online that she was brash and confident, everything that his wife was not, but it was still a healthy shock to see it in person. He couldn’t wait to see more. With a light chuckle, he gave her thighs a tight squeeze before calling for the waitress. “Let’s get dinner to-go then.”
Mafia Todoroki PT 2
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Todoroki Shoto works with his best friend to retrieve a stolen family heirloom. What better way to take back what belongs to him than to steal it back?
Pt 1, Pt 2, Pt 3, Pt 4, Pt 5
Pairings: Todoroki Shoto X OC [Haruki Yukine]
Warnings: swearing, threats, stealing, murder, violence, gore, weapons, character death, guns, daggers, blood,
Word Count: 5.1K
Yukine stared at the letter in her hands. Its golden cursive calligraphy stood out brilliantly against the pitch-black invitation card. Her eyes glossed over the text: "you have been invited to the Annual Elory Gala. Please arrive at your destination by 6 PM at the earliest. We look forward to your presence."
"We're going?" She asked as she stuffed the letter back into its white envelope. The letter was addressed to Enji, so word about his death hadn't got out yet.
Shoto nodded.
Yukine disappeared again only to reappear inside her own bedroom. She ran a nice hot bath for herself, tonight was going to be a big night she could feel it in her bones. There was no telling what would happen but she deserved to pamper herself before tonight. She may be the greatest assassin but she was still a girl who liked to take care of herself. Yukine would always tell herself: "a well-oiled machine runs smoothly."
She sank down inside the tub, water sloshed around before it stilled around her. Yukine submerged herself in the tub feeling herself go numb under the surface, the water blocked her hearing and sight. It was something she hated, it made her vulnerable and Yukine was always on guard -- even in her sleep.
Even in the tub she had two Chinese ring daggers hanging from the faucet. She broke the surface after some seconds had passed, the growing feeling of unease had brought her back up. There wasn't any threat but being underwater dulled her senses and made her uncomfortable.
Yukine finished with her bath as she usually would. Carrying her daggers with her, Yukine walked out of the bathroom in a towel wrapped around her body. Her wet hair left a trail of water behind her. She switched from a towel to a white comfortable bathrobe just before Shoto threw her bedroom doors open and walked in.
He always had impeccable timing, usually in the best way possible but right now wasn't a good example of that. He wore a classic black suit with a matching black tie around his neck.
"You still haven't told me why we're going." Yukine pulled open her closet doors and began browsing through her formal dresses. She had all sorts of clothes for every sort of event imaginable but sports and tight clothes dominated her closet because they were the best for missions.
She had fewer girly clothes but they were there for times exactly like this one.
"Remember that sapphire necklace mom used to tell us stories about?" He took a seat on the edge of her bed.
"The one stolen thirty years ago?" Yukine tossed a silver dress over her shoulder and onto the floor.
It was a necklace passed down through the Todoroki family for the men to give to the women in their lives as a sign of loyalty and eternal love. The sapphire was crystal blue like the ocean and it was said that it symbolized man's love, deep like the ocean itself. But thirty years ago, before Enji was set to marry Rei, the necklace went missing. It was stolen and Enji's parents said that was the reason their family fell apart. The loss of the necklace placed a curse on the family and it would only be lifted when the necklace was in its rightful owner's possession.
"Yeah. The one thing father could never accomplish. It's going to be there at the museum on display." Yukine turned to Shoto holding up two dresses: a black and a red one. He instantly pointed to the red one.
Yukine shoved the other dress back into her closet. "You know they won't just let us take it back." She shut the closet behind her and slipped back into the bathroom.
"It was stolen from us so naturally; we're going to steal it back. It's our family relic, an heirloom. It belongs to us." Normally they wouldn't resort to petty crimes like stealing but when a family relic was on display, they had to get it back. Shoto wanted to do the one thing his old man could never do. It would prove to him and the rest of his family that he was indeed much better than Enji ever was.
Yukine emerged from the bathroom in a red satin dress that stuck to the sides of her body. It went down her hips smoothly and then dispersed into frills near her feet. A long slit slid up the side of her right leg.
"You'll eliminate the target." Shoto stood behind her. Yukine looked back at him through the mirror of her vanity as she applied a matching red lipstick to her lips.
"Of course. Who is the target?" Shoto handed her a brown paper envelope which she assumed had all the information she needed about the target.
Impatient, Yukine tore open the top of the envelope. A paper fell out along with a headshot of her target. Yamasaki Noboru, a billionaire obsessed with stealing priceless items for his own personal collection. Yukine slipped her feet into a pair of red pumps while her eyes scanned the documents. Shoto was always good at research, his methods involved an extensive deep dive into the person's life-- anything uploaded on the internet was at his fingertips. While Yukine's research involved infield action and stalking.
The one thing Yukine didn't like about fitted dresses like the one she wore at the moment was the fact that there was never enough room to store weapons. Though she could work with the little space she had. Now all she had to do was accessorize and she was already.
The duo left the manor and slipped inside a sleek matte black Mercedes Benz. With black tinted windows that made it impossible to peer inside. Shoto drove off into the night with Yukine in the front seat.
They arrived at a large mansion, according to the invitation there would be a museum inside which would hold all sorts of relics and priceless items. The spotlights rotated on the ground and cast long beams of white into the dark sky. Shoto opened the car door for Yukine and extended his arm out to her. Her hand hooked around his before a valet driver took off with their car.
At the entrance the double white doors had been drawn open as men and women swarmed inside. Butlers stood at the front door bowing as the guests entered the house. A red velvet carpet welcomes them, the whole place felt like a royal's home and could have easily been mistaken for a palace.
The giant chandeliers dangling above their heads dispersed light throughout the room. White statues had been erected, some were full body ones and some finished at the bust but no two statues were the same. Each was more unique and intricately crafted than the last. To match with the stunning statues were giant paintings hung around in the mansion. Beautiful portraits of old villages, men, women and children as well as scenery.
A sleazy looking man approached them; his cheeks tinted a slight shade of pink. He must have gotten a head start with the drinks. He squinted at Shoto, "huh? You're not Todoroki Enji."
Shoto's lips had been pressed into a fine line at the mention of his father's name. "My ol- I mean. My father passed away last week. A shame really, I still had so much to learn from him. I'm Todoroki Shoto by the way." He extended his free hand to the man.
The stranger gave Shoto's hand a firm damp shake. His hand returned to his side and Shoto discreetly wiped off what felt like sweat on the side of his dress pants. The stranger's gaze shifted to Yukine scanning her from head to toe. She maintained a calm expressionless face under his perverse gaze.
"And who is this? What a pretty little thing you are." He grinned showcasing yellow stained teeth.
"This is my date, Haruki Yukine."
"Maybe we could share, hmm?" His hand picked up a long strand of her white hair and twirled it around his finger. Shoto pushed her behind him.
"She's a bit shy." Yukine instantly averted her gaze from the man. Her eyes glued to the red carpet beneath her feet. Yukine has had to play many roles over the years as part of her missions and if Shoto wanted her to play the part of the shy girlfriend then that's what she would do, even though her fingers were itching to slit his throat open in front of everyone. Yukine's arm righted around Shoto's and she tugged on the side of his suit hiding half her body behind his for good measure. It had to be a convincing performance and Yukine was a marvelous actress.
"The best ones always are." He smirked, sending Yukine a not-so-subtle wink before he stumbled away from them.
"I feel gross." She stared at the silver snake bracelet curving around her wrist with red rubies for eyes. The same place that man had brushed her skin with his.
"Let's split up and look for the display. One of us has to find it." Yukine nodded and the pair split up, each walking in different directions. Yukine took the east wing and Shoto took the west.
It took her a couple of minutes to find her way around the house. Guests would interrupt her search, men flirted shamelessly with her and women wanted to chat her up trying to ask about her expensive looking accessories.
In order to avoid unnecessary distractions Yukine ducked inside the nearest room. She shut the door behind her, her heels clicked over black tiles as she found herself inside a bathroom. Not just any bathroom but the men's bathroom. To make matters worse, the sound of a flush alerted her and out of the nearest stall walked the same sleazy looking man who had tried to hit on her. He wiped the corner of his mouth, Yukine suspected he had been emptying his guts with all that alcohol he had drunk.
The man stared at her from the mirror and before Yukine could turn around to leave he had her pressed up against the wall, his disgusting face lowered down to her neck. But she still had to play the role of the shy lost girlfriend to divert attention away from her. "We meet again, doll."
'Doll?' That pissed her off.
"Say, Haruki, was it? Tell me what you want to do with me?" She could hear the amusement in his voice. He was thoroughly enjoying his time with her but enough was enough. Yukine's hand slowly reached under the slit of her dress. This man had caused enough problems tonight.
"Well, if you want to know so badly, I'll tell you." She said barely above a whisper "I want to spill your guts." She drove her dagger home into his chest. It was now her turn to stare at the man with amusement in her eyes.
Yukine stared at her dagger debating if she should take it. "You know what, you keep that. Probably contaminated that shit anyway." She peered outside the bathroom and then snuck off into the other side of the room blending within the crowd.
Soon enough after some more aimless wandering Yukine stumbled upon the display room. She walked past glass cases with red velvet ropes surrounding them. There were so many priceless items on display: books, earrings, rings, necklaces, precious gems but none of them showed what she was looking for. There was no sapphire necklace.
Was it all a lie? Or was there another display room? If so, how many? Did Shoto find one? She wondered if he had better luck than her.
As soon as she turned around a corner a hand grabbed her arm and pulled her away. On instinct, she whipped out the first dagger which happened to be a Chinese ring dagger. She pressed the blade against her assailant's throat.
"Relax. It's just me." It was Shoto. She sighed and sheathed her dagger again.
"Don't grab me like that. Did you find anything?" Shoto shook his head.
"Looks like we're going to have to take matters into our own hands."
"I hope you mean what I think you mean."
"Of course. Let the hunt begin."
They walked back into the room getting lost in the crowd immediately. Yukine being much smaller than Shoto was forced to hang onto him so as to not get swept away in the crowd. Their eyes scanned every face in the crowd looking for their target.
A hearty laugh caught their attention and they pushed through the people until they found their way through. A small crowd had gathered around the grand piano and Shoto could see the head of a man holding a champagne glass and laughing along with his guest.
Shoto grabbed Yukine and pulled him with her towards the crowd. He pushed through however his grip on Yukine only tightened. Finally, they made it to the front, now that they could get a good look at him it was certain that was their target. Yamasaki Noboru.
Yukine took the lead this time. She walked over to Yamasaki's side and whispered in his ear something that made his eyes go wide for a moment. He stood up. "All right, everyone I have some business matters to tend to. Enjoy the rest of the party, I will join you all shortly."
She followed Yamasaki as the crowd began to disperse. Shoto accompanied her to a different room. The door shut itself behind them.
"Now where was this thief you saw earlier?" Yamasaki sat in his chair and turned around just as Shoto pulled out his gun.
"Right in front of me." His finger hovered over the trigger as he cocked the safety off his gun. He pointed it at Yamasaki. What they hadn't accounted for was the two guards in the room. This must be his office. Both his guards pulled out their own handguns and directed them at Shoto
Yukine, ever so prepared for any situation, pulled out two of her own guns. One she'd hidden in her garter and the other which had been wedged inside her clutch-- long discarded. She pointed both guns at each security guard on opposite sides of the room with a straight face.
"Now. Now. Let's be civil. We can have a normal conversation." Yamasaki said with Shoto's gun still pointed at him.
"You must really underestimate the mafia." He pressed his gun against the man's forehead. "If your men try to shoot me, Yuki will kill them before my body can even hit the ground."
He wasn't lying. Yukine still had a firm grip on both guns pointed away from herself. "Put your guns away." Yamasaki demanded.
"You first. I don't think you're in the position to make demands here."
Yamasaki raised one hand and the guards hesitantly lowered their weapons. Yukine eyed them as they slowly put their guns back inside their holders. "Now, you tell your little lap dog to stand down."
Shoto's eyes narrowed at the name but nevertheless he complied. "Yuki."
"Yes, sir." Yukine immediately lowered both guns to her sides. He too lowered his own gun.
"Now. How can I help you?" He gave them his best smile. "I assume you're searching for your necklace. A blue sapphire, like her eyes." He gestured to Yukine.
Yamasaki's hand began to wander down the side of his table. His fingers brushed against the metallic handle on his drawer and he discreetly pulled it open while maintaining eye contact with them.
Yukine always had strong instincts and she trusted her gut no matter what. Especially when it came to danger. Dread clawed at her mind and Yukine saw a tiny shift in Yamasaki's weight, anyone else would have missed it. Yukine abandoned her guns and sprinted towards Shoto.
It seemed like time had slowed down. Yamasaki pulled out his gun just as Yukine knocked Shoto and herself down. Her body pinned his to the ground as Yamasaki fired a single bullet. The bullet soared through the air and hit an unsuspecting guard in his head when he tried to look for his boss.
Yamasaki's jaw tightened as Shoto scrambled to the side. He flipped the nearest table onto its side and pulled Yukine towards him. They hid behind the wooden table as Yamasaki continued missing shot after shot. He may have a hobby collecting priceless items but he clearly had no clue how to use them.
Once the firing stopped, Yukine figured he had run out of bullets and was busy reloading. This was their chance. Yukine's snake bracelet slipped off her wrist and with a solid jerk it converted into a metal staff with the snake's head pointed in the air.
She sprinted out from her hiding place, she swung her staff at the guard and watched him fall. Yukine held him down by her foot. A quick push on the snake's ruby eyes converted its tail into a sharp dagger. The staff rose into the air and she brought the dagger down on the man below her multiple times until blood pooled around her heels.
Unaware of the gun following her, Yukine continued to fight off the other guard. Shoto covered her back, he brought the butt of his gun down on Yamasaki's head and watched him crumple to the ground. He couldn't kill him, not yet. Not until he got what he came here for.
The guard grabbed at her dress. 'Damn dress!' Yukine used her dagger to cut herself free. Although she had to sacrifice a stunning red dress, she was finally free. With the dress gone she was left in a black bustier with black fishnet stockings and a black suspender belt attached to her garters.
Yukine was very confident in her body so being exposed like this did not faze her, she wouldn't let this get in the way of her mission. In fact, she could use it to her advantage seeing as the guard had instantly averted his gaze. Now that her dress was gone, she had much easier access to her personal arsenal.
Shoto had tied up Yamasaki to his chair and waited for him to regain consciousness. By the time he did Yukine had slit his guard's throat open before his eyes. Shoto's hand prevented him from screaming, he then shoved a sock, he pulled off one of the dead guard's feet, in the man's mouth.
"Now. You will tell me what I want to know." Shoto leaned away from the older man. "Where is the necklace? It belongs to us." He saw the man lift a trembling hand and point at the door and then to the left.
Shoto nodded at Yukine telling her to go and retrieve the necklace. Yukine left the room with people gasping at her, the good thing was that she was so fast she didn't have time to listen to them.
She stumbled upon a dark room with a safe embedded in the wall. Yukine pressed her ear against the safe and pulled out her dagger. With the blade wedged in between the lock and the safe's door she focused intently on the sounds of the lock. Her concentration was so strong that she didn't hear someone sneak up behind her.
Yukine returned to the room. "Back so soon?" Shoto asked but he didn't get any response. He turned to see a man had her in a headlock with a feral grin on his face.
Shoto however looked completely unimpressed. "It's like you want me to blow his brains out." He sighed and pressed the gun's nozzle against Yamasaki's temple. Sweat trickled down the side of his face as he shook his head, the gag muffled his pleas.
"I have your lap dog. You can't hurt my boss." Yukine struggled in his hold while the man's grin spread further.
"See that's where you're wrong." Shoto's lips were pressed into a thin unamused line. "You don't have her, she has you. Yuki, you can stop playing with him. Finish him off quickly."
Yukine stopped struggling. "Understood." Yukine lifted her foot and brought the heel down on the man's toes. He let out an ungodly scream as he grabbed his foot hopping about on one leg. Yukine's elbow connected with his face and she heard his nose break with a loud crack.
Blood gushed out of his nose; his hand clamped over the wound. "You little bitch! You fight like a girl."
"Again? You people use the same insults a lot." Yukine unsheathed a dagger from her garter. She kicked the man's chest and watched him fall onto his back. Yukine straddled his legs with her dagger raised above her head. "Maybe if you trained harder you could fight like a girl too."
She buried the dagger in his chest and ripped it out before doing the same to his stomach and both sides of his body. In a few seconds he would bleed to death. Yukine wiped her blood-stained hands on her garter but that only spread the stain, her legs had splotches of blood on them too.
Yukine maneuvered herself through the room and ended up behind the chair with Yamasaki tied to it. She held a black Chinese ring dagger to his neck; its blade pricked his skin and a thin line of blood trickled down his neck. "Tell us where the necklace is."
Shoto held him at gunpoint and Yukine at knifepoint. "I'm losing patience." Shoto glared at the tied-up man. He began to pathetically mumble under the stuffed sock until Shoto removed it.
"Please, don't do this. I'll…." Annoyed with his pathetic begging and pleading, Shoto stuffed the sock back in his mouth. He lowered the gun and turned to Yukine. "Kill him."
Tears flowed freely down his face as Yamasaki shook his head wildly, his eyes begging Yukine to spare him but she didn't know remorse. Yukine picked up her staff along the way and lifted it over her head. Yamasaki turned to Shoto making muffled sounds at him.
"Wait, Yuki." She froze in place. Shoto swiftly removed the gag and Yamasaki spewed out, "I'll take you to it."
Shoto agreed to his proposal but he sensed Yamasaki's ulterior motives. He suspected the man saw him as inexperienced because of how young he was. But Shoto knew what he was thinking. In the meantime, Yukine had taken a liking to a special antique weapon hanging on the wall. She examined its settings and plucked it off the wall.
He hauled Yamasaki to his feet and pulled him along with them. Shoto had the man in a firm headlock with a gun pressed to his head. Yukine led the way with her staff in hand and a weapon in the other. As soon as they entered the main guest room, Shoto extended his hand to the sky and he fired off a gunshot.
The bullet shot through the glass windowed roof and the crowd broke out into gasps and screams as they lowered themselves against the ground. The men hugged their women close, trying to protect them. Their eyes fell upon the bloodied girl and in an instant, they knew she was dangerous.
"Nobody move!" Was all Yukine said, she waved the weapon around in case someone dared to stand up. And someone did, a middle-aged looking man with graying hair stood up to her. Without hesitation Yukine lifted her new weapon, an antique crossbow, aimed at the old man.
The arrow whizzed through the air and pieced the man's shoulder. With a pained groan he clutched his shoulder and fell back down. People surrounding him immediately tried to staunch the bleeding.
Shoto hissed in Yamasaki's ear. "Show us the way." He lifted a trembling finger and Yukine led the way with Shoto closely behind lugging his hostage with him.
Yamasaki led them to a dark room with red laser beams spread across the room. In the center of it all was a large glass case protected by velvet ropes. Shoto left their hostage with Yukine as he went to disable the security system.
Yukine stood with her crossbow pointed at the man. "Make one move and I'll be sure to shoot between your eyes." She spoke robotically.
"Yuki." Shoto pointed at the glass case. She nodded once and sent her staff with its dagger extended flying through the air. It shattered the case as soon as it landed and Shoto was free to extract the necklace.
"Got it." He held the sapphire necklace in his hands. Yukine dropped the crossbow and Yamasaki took this as a sign that he was free. Shoto already knew he was going to run but he was one step ahead of him and Yukine followed Shoto's orders.
She removed a dagger from her garter and flung it at Yamasaki's retreating figure. The poison laced blade dug into his back and he slumped forward. Rule number one of the Todoroki mafia: "leave no witnesses."
Shoto intended to give this back to his mother. They exited the mansion in a hurry but not before Yukine disposed of any butlers who stood in her way. Even the valet driver wasn't spared, he lay on the side of the road bleeding from his neck and stomach. Shoto got inside the car with Yukine and they drove off.
Once they were a safe distance away, Shoto pulled out a black device. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a remote controller and with one push of a button the mansion they had spent the night at was blown to smithereens, its white walls engulfed in flames.
On the drive back Shoto couldn't stop thinking about the words they used for Yukine. Lap dog. It was true that she stayed by his side all the time but she was her own person or so Shoto thought. But then he realized something, Yukine always referred to him as "sir," and always said yes to him. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time she'd ever told him “No."
Shoto had successfully returned the necklace to Rei. She was glad the necklace was back in the family's possession the way it had been years ago. He quickly returned to his bedroom, changing into more comfortable clothes. But all the while he couldn't stop thinking about Yukine.
Did she really have no will? She'd always obeyed his orders? Whatever he wanted she gave it to him? Whether it was a target he wanted eliminated or just someone to spend time with, she never hesitated to fulfill his wishes. And it bothered him. Even when he called for her, she instantly appeared as if she was lurking in the shadows behind him.
It was ironic really. Yukine, an assassin who always lurked in the shadows but also lived in Shoto's shadow while he basked in the power and light. When did it happen? When did they stop acting like best friends and more like boss and assistant? He couldn't remember the last time she ever used his name.
"Yuki?" Shoto called out.
Yukine stood in the door frame leaning against the wood. "You called?"
"Sit." He gestured to the spot next to him on the bed. Yukine soundlessly moved across the room and took a seat. As an assassin the first thing she learned how to do was move with complete silence. Her feet were light and made no sounds. Her body didn't push the bed down, it was like she was a ghost but she was very real.
Shoto had to test his theory. Would Yukine ever say "no" to him? Without warning, his hand sat on top of hers and he leaned in close to her face. His lips brushed hers but Yukine sat perfectly still, she didn't flinch, didn't move away or try to push him away like he thought she would. Like she should have.
He quickly pulled away hoping to see something on her face. He didn't know what he expected to see. Maybe shock? Wide eyes or a bright pink shade dusting her cheeks. But he got none of that, Yukine sat next to him with the same cold neutral look she had perfected. He let out an annoyed sigh.
"You never say "no." Why? Didn't you hear what they were calling you?" Shoto turned to her.
"Yes, sir." There it was again. That stiff boring "yes sir."
"Stop it." Overcome with frustration, Shoto grabbed her shoulders but Yukine's expression still didn't change. "We're supposed to be best friends. We were best friends before we became boss and assassin."
"I exist to serve you. I follow your orders, no matter what they are." Yukine robotically answered.
"No. You're your own person. You can say "no" to me. I'm not my father. It won't kill you." He pulled her into a hug, his arms tightened around her.
Shoto knew it wasn't her fault, it was his bastard of a father's fault. He raised her like this, to be obedient and well a robot. Even though he was dead, Yukine was still under his control and she would never be truly free of that old man until she learned to be human again.
When was the last time she'd been hugged? Yukine couldn't remember. She couldn't remember when she turned into this killing machine. This weapon. Or when she stopped calling Shoto by his name.
"I want you to use my name again." Shoto whispered under his breath. Yukine nodded, her arms slowly traveled up his body. One around his waist and the other in his hair. It was soft, she didn't know it was so soft.
"I'm sorry, sir." Yukine caught her mistake quickly. She'd never broken an order but this wasn't an order. It was a request from one friend to another. "I mean Shoto."
It definitely felt a little weird calling him by his name. "Stay with me tonight." He still didn't let go of her.
"Yes, Shoto." They got under the covers with Yukine pressed against Shoto's body. He thought she'd say no but of course she'd say yes. Well at least she started using his name again. Soon he'd get her to say no occasionally, baby steps.
"You did well." He stroked the top of her head. Enji never praised her, never said she was doing well or even acknowledged her efforts. So, he'd praise her because he wasn't his father. That man was gone and soon he'd free Yukine from his ghost. "Goodnight, Yuki."
"Goodnight, Shoto."
Coffee Mates
Sunny x Endeavor Fanfic
Type: Mainly them meeting/introduction
Fandom: My Hero Academia Characters: Enji Todoroki (Endeavor), Sunny (OC)
word count:  1745 words (it’s about 4 pages in my google doc if that means anything)
Notes: This happens right before All Might retires and the first villain attacks at the school. This piece was mainly an ice breaker to start writing fanfic of these two. I needed to start somewhere. If need to put more information at the top of this please let me know. Also sorry for any type-o’s and poor grammar. I wrote this a 1am in the morning.
I stood quietly in the elevator by myself. In my left hand I held my empty coffee cup. I looked on my right hand at my smartwatch to see the time flip over to 11:31am. I was early for the meeting and had time to waste. I headed up to the break room to grab some much needed coffee.
Ding.
The doors opened. Stepping out of the elevator I could see at the end of the hall the meeting room already had a few people waiting inside the open door. Not enough people to start the meeting with, so I wasn’t worried about being late. Taking a sharp right I entered the breakroom and was blasted with heat. At first I thought the worst had happened, like someone left their fork in the microwave and caused a small fire. Stepping more in the room I got a better look at the source. A tall hulking man was standing over one of the coffee makers. He had fire spewing out of him.
“Is… Is that pro hero Endeavor at the coffee maker????” I thought to myself as I stared at his back. The man was wearing a navy blue suit and black oxford shoes. His mystery man was hunching over the coffee maker and messing around with it. Endeavor was the first pro hero that I could think of in my head who normally has flames coming out of him, but as a fellow fire based hero I know he wasn’t the only one. I didn’t want to assume it was and be wrong, so I got a little closer. He shifted his body to face me and then a step away from me when he realized someone was coming up behind him. I was able to get a better look at his face. With his red hair, flame beard, and piercing eyes I got the confirmation I needed.
“Excuse me. Sorry!” I quietly brusted out as I stood next to him at the counter. I could feel my body quickly getting used to the heat and starting to feel normal again. I turned my head to quickly look at his face and back to face forwarding. He looked a little puzzled by my actions, or maybe by me being next to him? Either way I put my cup downed on the counter and then reached out my hand for a coffee maker. The moment I put my hand on the handle I realized the pot was empty. I then looked over to see the coffee maker next to the one I reached for; Endeavor had a glass pot in hand and was looking at me. The one in his hand was also empty and so was the cup next to him.
“Ooooh!” I softly gasped. “I didn’t realize we were already out of coffee!” I quickly bent down to the cupboard in front of me and opened it.
“.....Uh yeah.” I heard softly come from Endeavor as he took another step from me when I opened the cupboard. It was quiet and I almost missed it. I quickly filled both coffee makers with coffee grounds and water. I stood there watching them go to work. Endeavor stood there next to me.
I looked over to him and said, “Sorry for being out of coffee. Normally we have a rule that whoever takes the last bit of coffee has to refill the pot. The last person probably forgot…” I wasn’t the best at small talk but I felt too awkward to just stand in silence. He looked back at me. I nervously adjusted my sunglasses on my face as I quickly looked away from him. I suddenly felt hot again, but this time it was being shy and nervous. It started to hit me that the number two hero was right next to me, and I was a nobody casually talking to him. I can feel my layback and casual nature backfiring on me at this moment. This is the time to be formal and I feel like I already screwed up. I could still feel his stare on me as we stood there.
The long pause was broken by his voice. “Have I met you before?” I looked back at him, his hand was on his chin as he looked at me. He looked like he was trying to think of where he knows me from.
“Oh me?” I said shockingly.
“Yes you.” He took his hand away from his face as he waited for my answer.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…” I could feel my brain buffer as I nervously went into my brain trying to remember a time we were in the same room together before this. “Yes! Well… No… Well maybe uh deepens on how you see it.”
“What?”
“I have responded to fires and such that you were present for. We’ve been near each other on jobs, but never formally introduced.” I quickly snapped my finger and then pointed at him as I spoked. Trying to gentured I remembered.
“Ah I see…” He turned to face the coffee makers producing coffee. “I didn’t realize…”
“Uh, yeah it’s fine! Don’t worry about it. You see a million faces a day. You can’t always remember them all. Especially faces you’ve never talked to.”
Beep beep.
I brought my arm up to look at my watch. It was a reminder for the meeting in 15 minutes. I tapped my watch screen and pushed the notification away. I could feel Endeavor bending over me a bit and looking at my watch.
“What’s that?” He pointed at my watch.
“Oh? It’s just a smartwatch. It’s handy when I can’t hold my phone or lose my phone.” I said as I pulled out my phone from my back pocket. I looked at my phone and saw a text from my daughter.  I quickly tapped the keypadded to unlock my phone. My background was a photo of my daughter and I smiling. It was her first day of school, so she was wearing her uniform. I opened the text app and started to read the text. It was just a reminder from her that she would be at a friend's house for the weekend.
“Who is that as your background?”  I looked up at him to see he was still bending towards me looking at my phone. I didn’t realize he was still looking at my phone and watching me. “I’m sorry if that was a rude question. I just noticed she was wearing the same uniform my son's school has. I was just got curious.”
“Oh that’s my daughter! She’s a first year at UN. Does your son also go there?” I put my phone back into my pocket. Then reaching for the pot in front me since it was finished pouring. “Also I didn’t know you had kids or a wife or anything… You always seemed like a lone wolf type of guy.” That came out ruder than I wanted it to be….
“Uh yeah… I do have kids. Well anyways I wasn’t sure what the relationship was since I didn’t see much of a family resemblance.” He snapped at me. It was a stab for what I said a moment ago and I deserved it. “She must look like her father then.”
“Oh, you’re right she doesn’t look like me at all. It’s because she’s adopted. Also no father here. I’m single as a pringle.” I stabbed back at him. I normally don’t like telling people my child isn’t my own blood, but I feel like I have entered a passive aggressive fight and I want to win.
“No father? Could you not find anyone to have a child with you? You look so young tho...” I couldn’t tell if he was trying to make me upset or just thinking out loud at this point. Either way he was being nosy.
“Tried! No man could do it for me. Also at that moment of my life I was in my raging lesbian phase, so I don’t think I was ever going to find one. Plus I couldn’t have my own kids due to my body’s abnormal body temp. Either way I was fucked…. Oh sorry excuse my language.”I said quickly and a little too loud. I then picked up my coffee cup and looked at him. His face was bright pink from hearing all of this shoved in his face. I don’t know which part got him flustered, but either way I think I won this conversation.
 “Anyways! See you at the meeting!”I said to him. I turned to face the door and took a sip of my coffee. My face twisted the moment it hit my tongue. I was too busy talking to remember to put sugar and creamer into my drink. I kept walking anyway. I’ll just fix my coffee after the meeting or something. I don’t know, I just want out of this room.
“I um, I’m sorry for being rude.” Endeavor spoke behind me. I turned my body a tiny bit to see him while he spoke to me. He already had a cup of coffee in his hand and was following me now. “I understand why you’re being defensive. I’m also a single parent and I can be…. A little too much when it comes to my kids. If someone said such a thing to me I would be upset too. I should have thought before I spoke. I hope this conversation doesn’t ruin things.”
“Uh its…. It’s fine I guess. You’ll just have to repay me later for your rudeness.” I looked back at my watch; It was only 11:47am. Still 13 minutes before the meeting started. I then tucked my hand into my jacket pocket.
“Sure?” His voice sounded puzzled by what I said.
“For example…” I looked at him as I pulled out my wallet from my jacket. He looked at me confused and still a little bit pink in the face. I opened my wallet and then with a quick snap of my wrist a 2 foot long row of photos poured out of it. “For the next 13 minutes you could listen to me talk about how cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute my baby is!!!!”
Endeavors face squished and eyes closed as a short hardy laugh bursted out of him after watching the photos coming out of my wallet. His face started to go pink once more.
Nailed it.
Teammates (Shouto Todoroki X OC Oneshot)
Well, my Dabi one was received with many likes and even a reblog. So here’s the Shouto one. I had to, considering he was my first love on this show. Then *cough*his big brother*cough* Dabi showed up and stole my heart like the villain he is. I still love Shouto though. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!
        Shouto Todoroki and Mika Tsukiryu were the best of friends as children, even though they were a year apart in age. Their families were next door neighbors, so they got to play together all the time. At least until Shouto’s quirk manifested; then his father Enji, better known as Endeavor, started putting him through rigorous hero training every day. Endeavor wanted Shouto to grow up to be a hero capable of surpassing All Might, so any semblance of a social life and free time got drop kicked right out the window for the poor kid. That didn’t stop Shouto from sneaking out every chance he got to see his best friend though.
      When Mika’s quirk manifested, she was ecstatic. It was called Jagan; a third eye on her forehead that allowed her to force anyone who looked directly into it to hallucinate a world of either their fondest dreams or their worst nightmares. It also allowed her to create and manipulate dark energy. With plenty of experimentation, she eventually learned her quirk’s details and limitations. She could only make the dream/nightmare last for fifteen minutes at most, and the amount of time she chose equaled the cooldown time before she could use it again. In the case of the dark energy she could manipulate it into any form of energy, like dark fire or black lightning, but the amount was dependent on how dark her surroundings were; the darker it was, the more dark energy she could use.
      Shouto was touched when Mika told him that she wanted to be a hero too so they could be a team forever. On the other hand, he was worried when she told him she was training just as hard as he was to master her power. He told her to be careful and not push herself too far. Then he had to physically hold her back from going to kick his father’s butt when he described the brutal regimen he was being forced to follow. He didn’t want her to get hurt, but it did make him happy that she felt so protective of him because he felt the same way about her.
      When Mika told him that her family was moving away due to her father’s new job, Shouto was devastated; it felt like when Enji sucker punched him in the gut. Both of them cried, but promised to write letters to each other to keep in touch. They knew Endeavor would probably just throw away the letters if he saw them, so Mika promised to let Shouto know when to expect the next letter every time she wrote so he could make sure he got to the mail before his father did. As they got older it transitioned to email and texting on their phones, but the communication and their bond never stopped.
      That was eight years ago. Now Todoroki was sixteen, and getting ready to start his second year at UA High. His class was getting the opportunity to watch the entrance exam for the new first years; he didn’t really think much of it, but he almost leaped out of his seat when he saw Mika busting robot heads with dark fire and black lightning. Then he was even more surprised when Tokoyami spoke up.
      “Do you know that girl, Todoroki?” he asked.
      “Yes, we were next door neighbors as children; she was the first friend I ever had.” Todoroki answered.
      “She’s my cousin, you know.” the bird boy stated.
      This raised at least half a dozen questions, the biggest of which being why hadn’t the two of them ever had a conversation about her, but the heterochromatic eyed boy chose not to interrogate his classmate at this very moment. Later though, there would be a discussion.
      “I guess darkness quirks run in your family.” Todoroki sighed.
      “Indeed.” Tokoyami replied.
      Somehow Todoroki managed to track down Mika after the test. She was surprised to see him.
      “Oh, hi Shou-Todoroki; I didn’t expect to see you yet.” she said, catching herself when she almost used his first name.
      “It’s ok; I’ve always been Shouto to you and you’ve always been Mika to me.” he told her.
      “So, was your whole class watching the entrance exam?” she asked.
      “Yeah, they thought we might benefit from seeing how far we’ve come since we were in your place last year.” he explained.
      “Well, that’s a little insulting to the first years, but it does make sense.” she sighed.
      “You’ve got a lot of explaining to do.” he stated, his eyes narrowing.
      “Alright, fire away.” she surrendered.
      “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back, let alone applying to UA? Why am I just now finding out that one of my classmates is your cousin? Why are you wearing a headband that covers your Jagan eye?” he questioned, the last one being something he just noticed.
      “I didn’t tell you because I wanted to surprise you. I would’ve told you I was coming back no matter what, but I didn’t want you to know about UA in case I didn’t get in. I didn’t tell you about Fumikage because you never asked. The headband thing, I’d rather tell you about that somewhere a little more private.” she answered.
      “Can I have your new address so I know where to find you?” he requested.
      “Of course.” she agreed, pulling out her phone and texting it to him.
      “Thank you, and welcome back.” he said, ruffling her hair affectionately and giving her a small smile.
      “I missed you too, Shouto.” she responded, knowing what he really meant as usual.
      When Mika found out she’d been accepted into UA High’s hero course, she invited Shouto over to celebrate. Later that evening, they finally got to have their private talk.
      “So you and Tokoyami are cousins, but how specifically?” Shouto began.
      “I’m surprised that’s your first question. Our mothers are sisters.” Mika explained.
      “Did you not talk about me with any of your family except your parents?” he asked, worried that maybe she was ashamed of their friendship.
      “Shouto, when we were kids my entire family couldn’t get me to shut up about how amazing my best friend was. After we moved, I stopped talking about you because it was too painful. My family must’ve gotten the idea and didn’t ask about you. I didn’t even know you and Fumikage were classmates until I watched the sports festival. He probably didn’t tell me because he thought it would hurt me to know he got to spend almost every day with you while I couldn’t.” she answered.
      “That still doesn’t explain why he didn’t tell me.” he stated.
      “Fumikage is an extremely private person; I’ll bet he hasn’t told any of you about his family or his home life. It’s just the way he is, and honestly I’m exactly the same, except with you. I think it’s a personality side effect of having a darkness quirk; we like to keep things concealed.” she told him.
      “Actually, that fits right in with what little I know of him; the girls had to literally push him out of the way when we were comparing dorm rooms. Speaking of concealing, I want to know why and when you started covering your Jagan eye; you never used to when we were kids.” he questioned.
      “There’s the tough one, and you’re not going to like the answer. Not to mention it’s a bit of a story.” she sighed.
      “Please tell me.” he repeated.
      “Alright, when I got to my new school and my new classmates found out what my quirk is, they basically turned on me. They called my quirk villainous, and said I was crazy to think I could be a hero with powers like nightmares and dark energy; I guess they conveniently forgot that I can do sweet dreams too. For a while I just ignored them, but then they got the idea that they didn’t feel safe around me with my Jagan eye exposed; something about the threat of endless nightmares if they accidentally looked at me the wrong way. I’m fairly certain I explained that it was fifteen minutes tops, but quirk activation at school is forbidden so it didn’t matter anyway. They argued that I might snap and decide to ignore the rules. Eventually my teacher got sick of it and asked me to start wearing a headband. I’ve gotten so used to it that I don’t even remember it’s there most of the time.” she elaborated.
      The next thing Mika knew, she was wrapped in Shouto’s arms and being held like she would break if he let go.
      “I always assumed you were doing fine at your new school because you never said otherwise. Why didn’t you ever say anything?” he asked.
      “I didn’t want you to worry, and it’s not like you could’ve done anything.” she explained, hugging him back.
      “The hell I couldn’t; I would’ve taken the fastest car, train, or plane to get to you. Then I would’ve frozen them all in place so you could give them the fifteen minutes of nightmares they deserved.” he growled.
      “That’s very sweet, but we both know neither one of us would’ve gotten into UA after using our quirks to get revenge on school bullies.” she replied.
      “I’m sure my father could’ve pulled enough strings to get me off the hook, but you probably not. Still, I am so sorry that you had to deal with something like that; I’m so sorry that I wasn’t there to defend you.” he sighed.
      “It’s ok; I didn’t go through it alone. I had my parents and Fumikage to talk to about it. If you think I had it bad, you have no idea what my cousin went through.” she told him.
      “I really don’t think you’ll have that problem at UA, but if you do promise you’ll tell me about it. I won’t do anything, because I won’t have to; a few choice words and an icy death glare will get the job done.” he stated.
      “I promise, but you don’t have to protect me. I’m a big girl now, and I can take care of myself.” she responded.
      “You told me when we were little that you wanted to be a hero so we could be a team forever. I know you were just a kid, but you had a good idea. Let me be your teammate; that way both of us have someone to watch our back.” he pleaded.
      “Alright, best friends and teammates it is.” she consented.
      Over the next few weeks, Todoroki spent more than half of his free time with Mika; he hadn’t realized just how much he missed her until he got her back. Plus he wanted to make sure she hadn’t left out any other major details of her life during their separation. His classmates were starting to suspect that his feelings for her were far from platonic, but no one had the guts to ask him about it. Finally Ashido convinced Kirishima to convince Bakugo, the most unapologetically blunt human being on earth, to find out what was up.
      “Hey Icy Hot! I don’t care, but I’m asking for someone who does; how do you really feel about Goth Bird’s cousin?” he asked tactlessly.
      “I’m not sure what you mean, Captain Rage Issues. She’s my best friend, if that’s what you’re asking.” Todoroki answered, making everyone within earshot laugh.
      “You want to say that again, Icy Hot? I’ll kill you!” Bakugo yelled, before Kirishima dragged him away.
      “Ok, bad idea on my part having Bakugo ask you. Those of us who care get the feeling that you might like Tsukiryu as more than a friend, and we just wanted to know your stance on the matter.” Ashido stated.
      “Like I said, she’s my best friend. I’ve never liked someone as more than a friend, so even if I did I probably wouldn’t know.” Todoroki sighed.
      “Oh, that’s simple enough to figure out. Does your heart beat faster when she’s around, or maybe you get a fluttering feeling in your stomach? Do you ever feel like smiling for no reason when she’s around?” Ashido questioned.
      “I don’t know; I haven’t really noticed any of that. I just know I like being around her, and when she’s happy I’m happy.” Todoroki replied.
      “Alright, imagine her kissing another guy; how does that make you feel?” Ashido continued, determined to get a solid result.
      He thought about it and then thought the ice half of his quirk was activating by itself, but no this was all over his body, running through his veins. His heart squeezed painfully, and he felt like someone sucker punched him in the gut again.
      “That actually physically hurts.” Todoroki said, frowning.
      “I knew it! That means you love her!” Ashido cheered triumphantly.
      “I’m not sure what you expect me to do with this information.” Todoroki responded.
      “That’s the easy part, silly. You’re supposed to tell her.” Ashido coached.
      “Great, I think I need to be alone for a while.” Todoroki stated, retreating to his dorm room.
      Well, this was just fan-tucking-fastic. He valued his friendship with Mika above most things, and romantic feelings have been known to sink friendships. How was he supposed to deal with this? It was either go on feigning blissful ignorance of his feelings and risk Mika falling for someone else, or tell her how he felt, pray she reciprocated, and risk their lifelong bond. Deep down, he knew what he had to do; he needed to tackle this bravely and head on, like a hero. He would just have to hope that if she didn’t feel the same their friendship would be strong enough to survive the hit.
      A few days later, they were having a normal conversation and his tongue slipped.
      “I’ve noticed you only wear your headband as part of your hero costume now; your classmates aren’t afraid of your Jagan eye?” he asked.
      “As a matter of fact, they think my quirk is really cool and super strong. Some of them said I should partner up with Tokoyami; which is sort of funny because I haven’t told them we’re related.” she answered, smiling.
      “Good, I’m glad they appreciate you and your quirk. To be honest, I’ve always considered your Jagan beautiful.” he commented.
      As soon as the words left his mouth, he realized how they sounded and blushed. Unfortunately, he didn’t turn his head fast enough to avoid her seeing the flustered expression he wore.
      “You just called my terrifying, nightmare inducing, power of darkness granting third eye in the middle of my forehead beautiful; that just might be the single greatest compliment anyone has ever given me.” she replied.
      His head snapped back toward her so fast he almost gave himself whiplash, and what he saw nearly stopped his heart. She was looking at him the way he imagined a child would look at a person who’d just promised them their most precious dream come true. Suddenly he wanted nothing more than to kiss her, and he had to bite back a moan of longing. He knew there would never be a better time than right now; so he charged ahead into the confession he’d been dreading since he found out he loved her.
      “I think everything about you is beautiful; your long ice blue hair, all three of your golden eyes, your flawless pale skin, the lithe slender shape of your body, and that’s just the unimportant physical things. I think your personality is beautiful too; the way you carry yourself with quiet confidence, the calm soothing aura you radiate, your impressive intelligence, and your amazing capacity for compassion. I love you, Mika, with all of my cold frozen heart.” he told her, surprised that he’d managed to articulate all that in not a jumbled mess.
      The few moments between his declaration and her answer were the longest of his life. He’d never been more nervous and scared than he was when she finally spoke.
      “Your heart isn’t cold or frozen, not anymore. Maybe it was for a while after I left, but it started thawing out again during the sports festival; I’ll have to remember to thank Midoriya for kick starting the process. I just needed you to know that first. I love you too, Shouto, with all my heart.” she responded.
      He sighed heavily, resting one hand over his furiously beating heart and feeling like the weight of the world had been lifted from his shoulders.
      “Are you sure about that? I’m mentally and emotionally damaged, not to mention physically scarred.” he remarked, only half joking as he covered his left eye with his free hand.
      “Alright, my turn; I love that your hair and your eyes are both heterochromatic because it makes you look awesomely unique. The scar around your left eye only draws attention to what a gorgeous shade of turquoise blue the iris is, and your right eye is a gorgeous shade of silver. I’m sure you’re at least close to being strong enough to bench press my entire body weight if you’re not there already, and I find that very attractive. Regardless, you have just the right amount of muscle for my taste. I admire your courage and character in dealing with your parents more than I can say. I love that you’re soft spoken and level headed. I think that some of the most intelligent people in the world are the quietest, and if that’s true you must be a genius. It might take a significant amount of time for you to open up to someone, but when you do you’re the sweetest and most loyal person I’ve ever met. Is that enough to convince you?” she recited, gently lowering his hand and caressing his burn scar.
      “I think I might literally burst into flames if you don’t let me kiss you right now.” he stated, looking into her eyes with absolute sincerity.
      “Well we can’t have you burning off half your shirt, no matter how much I’d enjoy the view.” she teased.
      “A simple yes would’ve sufficed.” he sighed, blushing.
      Then he kissed her before she had a chance to respond. Considering that this was not just their first kiss with each other but also their first kiss period, he wanted to take it nice and slow. She seemed to sense that, and gently ran her hands through his hair as she kissed him back. Pleasant chills ran down his spine from her touch while he rested one of his own hands on the back of her neck, carefully lacing his fingers into her silky tresses. He decided that there was entirely too much space between them; so he wrapped his free arm around her waist, pulling her close and holding her tight. This move surprised her, but she definitely wasn’t complaining as she sighed contentedly and draped her arms around his neck. When they finally came up for air, he had the most adorable smile on his face; one she couldn’t help mirroring.
      “So, how did I do? Was that a good first kiss?” he questioned, blushing again.
      “It was amazing, Shouto; I couldn’t have asked for a better one.” she answered, blushing as well.
      “That’s a relief; you have no idea how much I agonized over the details.” he commented, his tongue slipping again.
      “What aren’t you telling me? It sounds like you had this all planned out ahead of time.” she remarked, raising an eyebrow.
      “Well, I knew I wanted to tell you how I felt, but the when part being tonight just sort of happened. If by some miracle you actually felt the same, I wasn’t sure how soon you’d want to kiss; so I did some research on techniques to make sure it wouldn’t be some sloppy novice affair, and why are you laughing? I took this very seriously.” he explained, blushing even darker.
      “I’m sorry; I just pictured you scouring the internet for the best way to kiss a girl while taking exhaustive notes, and it’s simultaneously the cutest and funniest thing I’ve ever imagined. I truly appreciate your efforts though; it was very sweet and thoughtful of you.” she told him, after finally suppressing her giggles.
      “Alright, I guess I can let it slide.” he said, grinning.
      “There’s just one thing I’m worried about. Are you sure that a relationship with me isn’t going to get in the way of you becoming a hero?” she asked.
      “Mika, I had to balance my schoolwork with my old man’s brutal training for years; now that school and hero training are rolled into one, I’m sure I can balance it with a relationship. The question is, can you?” he countered.
      “You’re talking to the queen of time management; I’ll be fine.” she retorted.
      “In that case, will you be my girlfriend?” he requested.
      “Yes, as long as you’ll be my boyfriend.” she agreed.
      “I will.” he promised.
Blues In The Night   20. House Of The Rising Sun
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter | Chapter Song
Night had finally fallen upon the Tokyo sky. Outside, the city was eerily still, a blanket of white snow covering the landscape. Shoto stood in his dimly lit office, his heterochromatic eyes dark as he suited up for his mission. Determination radiated off of his body as he pulled on his combat vest, all the while staring at a framed photo of his beloved Aimee perched on his desk. Tonight was the night. He was going to bring her home safe.
After putting on his wrist guards, Shoto turned to grab his utility belt. Turning it in his hands, his fingers rested on a new addition: the bag of homemade gris-gris Aimee had made him for Christmas. A good luck charm to keep him safe. He lifted the small pouch to his lips, giving it a light kiss. I’m coming, my love.
As Shoto clipped the belt around his hips, there as a light knock on the door. “Come in.”
The door opened to reveal his father Enji, fully suited up in his hero gear, complete with his beard of flames. “We’re ready, son.” Shoto nodded, walked past his father and out the door.
The father and son walked down to the agency’s garage in silence. There, all of the missing person task force was waiting in their hero costumes, quietly talking amongst themselves. Endeavor cleared his throat, all eyes turning toward him. “Everyone has already been given their travel groups and should have the coordinates for the warehouse. We’ll all take different routes to avoid suspicion before entering the woods. After that, we’ll travel on foot to avoid detection.”
The heroes nodded, prompting Endeavor to continue. “Our current count of victims is sixteen. Sidekicks, your objective is to remove the victims from the area and transport them to a safe zone. The rest of us will engage Lafayette Dubois and whoever else is in his ranks. I doubt he’ll go down easily. Any questions?” He paused, looking around the room for any takers. “Alright, let’s go get our girl.”
With a few cheers of encouragement, the heroes broke up into teams, getting into separate Jeeps. Shoto shared one with his father as they set out on their journey. Shoto didn’t say a word the whole ride, silently brooding as he fiddled with the gris-gris on his belt.
Endeavor sighed as he stole glances at his son. He knew just now badly he ached for Aimee’s safe return, possibly even scolding himself for letting her kidnapping happen in the first place. Unfortunately, comfort and encouragement was not his forte.
Soon the heroes reached the woods, turning off-road and into the forest. After a short bumpy drive, Endeavor parked the Jeep tucking the keys into the visor. As the pair got out of the car and into the powdery snow to hike the rest of the way, Enji finally spoke up, bringing Shoto out of his thoughts.
“Shoto, when we raid the warehouse if you see Aimee grab her and get her out. Do not engage the enemy. I know we shouldn’t be biased as heroes but fuck that. She’s our top priority.”
Shoto turned to his father, a flicker of warmth flashing in his tired eyes. “I’m glad we’re on the same page.”
_________________________________________________________________________
Fluttering her eyelids, Aimee slowly regained consciousness. Her limbs felt heavy and incredibly weak. Her mind was foggy as she took in her surroundings: cold metal walls, hospital beds, and random machines and tech equipment. When Aimee reached to hold her throbbing head she was met with the bite of handcuffs on her skin, finally remembering the predicament that she was in.
“Oh, look who’s up?” Aimee turned her head slowly to face the voice. There she saw Lafayette sitting beside her bed, chopping up white powder on an aluminum tray with a razor blade on a side table. “You’re not nearly as fun when you’re passed out, but still just as pretty.”
Aimee stared at him blankly as Lafayette lifted the tray to his face, snorting a line of the substance. “WOOO! That’s the good stuff!” He laughed as he wiped his nose before looking back over to Aimee. “Where are my manners? Coke?” He smiled a wicked grin offering up the tray.
Aimee only blinked groggily before shaking her head, “Pepsi.”
A dry chuckle escaped Lafayette’s throat as he placed the tray back on his side table. He licked his lips with a smug look before violently flipping the table over, its contents falling to the floor with a crash. Aimee jumped in her bed, trying her best to turn away from the dangerous man. The villain then grabbed her face roughly, her plump lips forcefully puckered as his he squeezed her cheeks.
“You really are a pistol,” he whispered menacingly.  “I’m going to enjoy making a mess out of you.”
Aimee screwed her eyes shut, bracing herself for the worst when she heard the opening of a door. Lafayette jumped back from her hospital bed, picking up the mess he left on the floor as Aimee’s father, Colonel Faurie walked over.
“How’s she’s doing? I heard a ruckus.”
“Well... she’s awake, Boss. A little feisty though,” Lafayette chuckled. “She knocked over my table and everything.” Aimee growled at the man as her father stood by her bedside.
“Baby girl, if you can’t behave I’ll have to sedate you again,” Colonel Faurie said softly as he stroked Aimee’s soft curls, only for her recoil away from his hand.
“Don’t touch me,” Aimee barely whispered.
The Colonel sighed, dropping his hand, “Lafayette, go get The Doc.”
The man grunted in response before walking out and bringing back the doctor. He checked Aimee’s vitals in silence as her father looked on, Lafayette retreating to the other side of the warehouse.
Aimee took in a shaky breath, willing her voice to be strong despite her wavering body, “What are you doing to me? I have the right to know.”
The Doc looked over to The Colonel, his eyes asking for permission. With his nod of approval, the doctor looked Aimee in the eye with a soft and kind voice, “You’ve been given a serum that forcibly activates your quirk. We’re studying how your cells react and harvesting them to create a drug that can give people certain quirks for a period of time. It takes a long time to render enough samples. That’s why you’re physically exhausted. Your quirk has been activated for hours.”
Hours? No wonder I’m so weak. Aimee’s eyebrows knitted together as she looked over to her father, desperate to understand his involvement. “Why is this so important to you Daddy? So important you’d hold your own daughter captive…”
“I couldn't save her,” Colonel Faurie whispered, his head hung low.
“Couldn’t save who?”
“Your mother.”
Aimee paused, confused by the sudden turn in the conversation. “Mama? There was nothing you could have done for her. You weren’t even there.”
“I was there.” The Colonel took a deep breath, running his large hand down his face, revealing a look of utter sorrow. “We were both in the bank, waiting in line. We had a few errands we had to run before we picked you up from school. In the interest of time, I decided to walk across the street to the pharmacy to pick up your mother’s prescriptions. The next thing I know, I heard this great explosion.” He grimaced as he balled his fists by his side, Aimee listening intently. “I ran out of the pharmacy just in time to see the bank building begin to crumble. I tried to get to her. I moved as much debris as I could, but my quirk was useless. If only I had super strength, or time reversal, telekinesis, ANYTHING! I couldn’t help her. I was useless to my Nettie.”
“Daddy--” Aimee tried to interject, before being cut off.
“If I had this drug then, a drug that would let me use other useful quirks even just a few hours. It would have made all the difference. That’s why when the military was given Overhaul’s research on quirk enhancing and removal, I knew I had to find a way to combine the two. So I recruited my old neighborhood friend Lafayette to get compatible subjects for me and hired the Doc.” Her father sighed as he took her hand in his, his eyes hopeful. “This drug is going to save people. Imagine how effective my soldiers would be with multiple useful quirks.”
Aimee shook her head in disbelief, her large eyes showing only pity for her lost father, “But at what cost?”
“Uh, Boss…” Lafayette’s voice spoke up from the other side of the warehouse. “Something’s up.”
“What do you mean something’s up?” Colonel Faurie turned to see Lafayette over by the security monitors.
“There’s something on the radar. It’s real close.”
“Why the hell are you just now saying something?!” his boss growled.
Lafayette shuffled his feet while he sniffed and rubbed his nose, dusted in a white substance, “I was… busy.”
The next instant there was a deafening crash, dust and debris flying into the warehouse. A flash of green appeared in the giant hole left in the wall. “Nobody move! I am here!” Pro Hero Deku had busted through the wall with a mighty punch. Endeavor and Shoto ran into the building after him, scanning for their missing treasure.
“Aimee?! Where is she?!” Shoto bellowed as he searched the room, other sidekicks flooding the scene as well. Endeavor made quirk work of blocking the targeted exits with his hell flame, ensuring the offenders wouldn’t escape in the chaos.
“Shoto?” Aimee murmured, turning her head toward the commotion.
Before Aimee could locate her love, her father sprung to action, covering her head with a blanket. “Shit! Get the subjects out of here! Doc, save the research!”
Flustered, The Doc did as he was told, scrambling to collect all the charts and vials into his short and stubby arms. After gathering as much as he could carry, he ran for the back exit. Before he could reach the door, the window was broken in, glass flying everywhere. Looking up, the doc saw Eraserhead and Shinsou swinging on the scene with their capture weapons. The duo landed in front of the doctor, locking onto him with tired eyes. Aizawa activated his quirk, his low baritone issuing his threat, “Don’t make this harder than it has to be…”
The doctor knew he was caught and didn’t put up a fight. He lifted his hands in the air, dropping the files and vials to the floor. The Colonel growled low in his throat as he watched the brains behind his plan surrender. He couldn’t let his plan fail. He was growing desperate to see this through, “Damn! Lafayette! Get Rid of them!”
“On it, Boss!” Lafayette activated his quirk, turning his sights on the heroes.
Shoto braced himself for a fight. His blood was boiling. Now there was no doubt that Colonel Faurie was involved.  Before he could launch an attack was pushed aside by his father, “Go find Aimee, we got this!” Shoto nodded, skating off on his ice to search for his love.
As Deku and Endeavor fought against Lafayette and his dark tendrils, the other sidekicks had started to evacuate the victims. Seeing the walls starting to close in, Colonel Faurie knew he had to get out while he could. He quickly released Aimee’s wrists from her handcuffs and lifted her into his strong arms. Aimee moaned weakly, pulling against his shirt, “Daddy stop this… please…”
The Colonel shook his head, running for an exit while cradling his baby girl in his arms. “I have to finish what I started.”
Shoto skated high above the chaos on his ice, searching desperately for his beloved. At last, he caught sight of her dark curls, being carried away by her father. “Aimee!” He yelled, shooting a massive ice wall in front of The Colonel, effectively blocking his path.
Colonel Faurie turned to face the hero, his face resolute as Shoto skidded to a stop in front of them. The duel quirked hero’s lips pressed into a thin line as he took in Aimee’s condition. She had a bandage on her forehead and she looked physically weak. He wanted with every fiber of his body to take her from her monster of a father, but it just wasn’t safe. Who’s to say her father wouldnt hurt her if he got too close? He also couldn’t risk accidentally hitting Aimee with his quirk by attacking the man. He would have to talk to him down. “It’s over Colonel. Hand her over.”
“Shoto…” Aimee called out faintly. It damn near broke his heart.
“Boy, I can’t deal with you right now,” The Colonel’s bushy eyebrows furrowed, growing anxious. “I have to do this. My Nettie…”
“Daddy…” Aimee pleaded, pulling on her father’s shirt. “Mama’s gone. There’s nothing more we can do for her.”
Colonel Faurie knew he was cornered. There was no way he could out battle the hero and he also didn’t want to put his baby girl in any more danger. Still, he stood his ground, unwilling to let his dream go.
“Please, Colonel. Don’t make me hurt you,” Shoto braced himself, settling into a fighting stance.
“Daddy, look at me,” Aimee placed a small hand to her father’s cheek, bringing his brown eyes to hers. “She wouldn’t want this.”
The Colonel looked into his daughter’s eyes, the same large expressive eyes as her late mother. He tightened his grip on his daughter, wrestling with his feelings, until a mysterious warm feeling washed over him, suddenly setting him at ease. “Nettie…” He said, barely a whisper. Tears pooled in his eyes as he nodded slowly, knowing what he must do, “Okay.” Kneeling down, The Colonel gently laid Aimee down on the cool ground before placing his hands on his head in surrender.
Todoroki let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. After quickly looking over Aimee for any wounds, Shoto reached into his utility belt and handcuffed Colonel Faurie. With a heavy sigh, The Colonel called out, “Stand down, Lafayette. It’s over.”
Layfayette looked over to see his boss had surrendered. A man that was supposed to be his meal ticket. His ticket to the good life. His ticket to freedom. His brow furrowed as he shook his head, a long black tendril snaking over across the warehouse to The Doctor, snatching the discarded vials of mysterious elixirs. “Nah, man. I ain’t going back to jail.”
He brought the vials to his lips, drinking them all before hurling the glass bottles at Deku and Endeavor. He let out a deep hearty laugh as his body began to morph and change, his eyes wild with power.
“Ah, fuck.” Endeavor mumbled before he was pelted with stronger and thicker shadow tendrils. They cut his skin like knives as they whipped around him.
Deku jumped and dodged the tendrils as best he could until suddenly his body went numb. He fell harshly to the ground with a groan, his eyes wide with panic. “What the hell is going on?! I can’t move!”
“Deku!” Endeavor lunged at the villain, ready to fire more flames only to watch Lafayette disappear before his eyes. “What is this?!”
“It’s the vials!” The doctor called out, still bound in Aizawa’s capture weapon. “He’s using the subject’s quirks! He could have any one of sixteen new quirks now!”
Shoto’s lips pressed into a thin line as he carefully scooped Aimee into his arms bridal style. “I’m getting you out of here.” He began to run across the warehouse to the exit until he saw a sight that made him hesitate. Enji, grasping at his neck, his lips slowly turning blue. It appeared as if some invisible force was choking him. “Father!” He bellowed, unsure of what to do: get his love to safety or help his father.
Lafayette then reappeared, now a literal giant. He towered over Endeavor, his shadow tendrils now as thick as tree limbs. Even though he was visible again, the invisible force tightening around Endeavor’s neck still remained.  Without sparing a glance, the villain shot a black tendril from his back, lifting a paralyzed Deku high into the air. Lafayette wrapped a tendril tight around the young hero’s neck to match the one around his own.  Just as Aizawa and Shinsou jumped into the fray, they were also easily tangled and subdued by the dark shadow vines.
“Shoto…” Aimee’s frail voice caught his attention as he looked down at her. “He’s using my quirk. Let me help.”
Shoto couldn’t help the utterly confused look that covered his face. “You’re in no condition to help. I have to get you out of here.”
“They need help,” Aimee pleaded, pulling on his hero suit. “Cut me.”
“What?!” Shoto looked down at her in shock.
“Use your ice. They don’t have much time.” Aimee patted her thick thigh with her hand, indicating the perfect spot.
Shoto grimaced but he knew she was right. They had seconds, maybe. Even Endeavor’s flames had gone out, due to his lack of oxygen. Kneeling down, Shoto propped Aimee up against his chest as he activated his quirk, forming a sharp icicle. He lifted it up above her plush thigh, but he was still frozen in place. How could he physically hurt the love of his life? Break her soft chocolate skin? Especially, after he just got her back in his arms?
“Shoto now!” Aimee cried, pulling down his hand with all her strength. She activated her quirk as her eyes locked onto the murderous villain, the cold icicle slicing deep into her flesh.
Lafayette yelled out, instantly dropping the heroes from his grip to grasp his leg. “Not again!” He groaned before turning around, spotting Aimee on the ground, an icicle protruding from her thigh in the same place as his mysterious wound. “You little bitch!” He seethed, charging towards her. Shoto instinctually created a wall of ice to separate them from the villain. Aimee held her breath and screwed her eyes shut, waiting for the blow, however it never came.
“Detroit Smash!” Deku yelled as he punched Lafayette in the side, catching him by surprise. With the villain distracted by Aimee’s assault, he had deactivated all of his borrowed quirks, Deku regaining control of his body.
“Let’s finish this,” Endeavor growled, rubbing his neck. Activating his quirk, Endeavor took aim at Lafayette shooting scorching blue flames. “Flashfire Fist- Jet Burn!”
Lafayette yelled as he tried to block the flames with his tendrils, wincing away from heat. It was then that, Aizawa and Shinsou wrapped their capture weapons around the Villain, Shinsou jumping on his back, “I’m gonna need you to chill, you ugly bastard!”
“What the fuck--” That was all it took, Shinsou had Lafayette under his mind control, the villain going stiff.
Endeavor stopped his attack, seeing that he was finally restrained, giving Shinsou his nod of approval, “Thanks, it would have been nice if you did that sooner.”
Shinsou let out a dry chuckle, “I was a little busy. Anyway, we’re not quite done. Midoriya?” He turned to the green-haired hero. “I don’t want Ugly getting jostled and breaking free of my quirk. Will you do the honors?”
“My pleasure!” Deku flashed a bright smile before throwing a One for All punch into the Villian’s face, effectively knocking him unconscious. “That should do it.”
“Did… did I get him?” Aimee breathed softly.
Shoto chuckled lightly, his eyes on his fellow heroes celebrating their victory, “Yes, my love. You got him.”
The peppermint haired hero looked down and his pleasant look was instantly washed away with one of terror. Aimee’s face had grown pale and she can barely keep her eyes open. “Aimee!” Shoto patted her face to get her attention, his heart racing once again. The ravenette only moaned in response, alarming the man further. Looking down her body, Shoto realized their grave mistake. The wound on Aimee’s leg wasn’t healing, her warm crimson blood staining her dress and pooling onto the floor.
“Damnit, Aimee! You’re past your limit, aren’t you?” Shoto’s eyes were wide with panic as he cradled Aimee to his chest.
“I’m sorry… I had to... do... something…” her voice trailed off despite her best efforts.
“Stop the bleeding and get her out of here now!” Enji urged. “We’ll clean this up until the authorities arrive.”
Shoto ripped the hem of Aimee’s dress to create a tourniquet, tying it tightly around her thigh. As gently as he could, he scooped Aimee back into his arms bridal style before running out of the warehouse and into the snow. The hero ran as fast as he could, trying his best to keep Aimee from being jostled. He had to get her to a hospital and fast.
“Cher… I’m cold,” Aimee’s soft voice whispered as she fought to stay conscious.
“Shh, I’ve got you, my love,” Shoto cooed, trying his best to keep his panic from his voice. “Stay awake for me. I need to see those big beautiful eyes.”
Damn it! Shoto cursed himself in his mind for ever agreeing to her stunt as he activated his quirk, gently warming Aimee in his arms. I just got her back. I’m not going to lose her again. The hero then began to skate on his ice in hopes of making better time to the Jeeps waiting in the forest.
Shoto let out a quick sigh when he finally caught sight of the black car waiting in the snow. Gingerly he placed Aimee in the passenger's seat, buckling her in before jumping into the driver's seat. “Stay with me Aimee,” he pleaded with no response. He drove through the forest with a vengeance until he reached the main road, speeding all the way to the hospital.
He jumped the curb as he pulled into the Emergency Room entrance before exiting the car and pulling an unresponsive Aimee into his strong arms. “Someone help her please!” the hero shouted as he ran into the lobby. “She’s unconscious and has lost a lot of blood!”
Doctors and nurses ran to their aid, quickly putting Aimee onto a gurney. “What happened?”
“She’s been given unknown experimental drugs and has exhausted her quirk and she has a stab wound to her thigh.” Shoto stood by his love, petting her hair with shaking hands as the doctors looked over her vitals and examined her wound.
“It looks deep, we’re going to take her to the O.R. just in case.” Shoto nodded weakly as he stared at Aimee’s unmoving face, hot tears pricking at his eyes. The doctors then wheel her back, Shoto following suit until he was stopped at the O.R. entrance. “We have it from here sir. We can’t let you past this point.”
The hero hesitated, not wanting to be away from Aimee for another second. Leaving a tearful kiss on her forehead, Shoto reluctantly took a step back, knowing he had to let the doctors do their jobs.
Hours go by as Shoto paced the ER waiting room. The other victims had also been admitted to the hospital arriving via ambulance, Endeavor and Deku rushing into the hospital shortly after. Unable to wait another minute, a disheveled Shoto walked up to the receptionist. “Is there any news? Anything at all?”
The receptionist sighed, this was the fifth time he had asked her for information. “I’ll check the system again.” She typed away at her computer, pulling up Aimee’s file. “It looks like she’s out of surgery and has been transferred to the ICU.”
“What’s her room number? I have to see her.”
“Unfortunately Mr. Todoroki I can’t give you that information. I shouldn’t have even told you this much.”
“What do you mean I can’t see her?!” Shoto scoffed, his temper starting to rage. “I filled out all of her information for her paperwork. I brought her here. I’m not a stranger off the street!”
The receptionist sunk down in her seat, her hands tied by policy. “I’m sorry but only family are allowed in the room.”
Family? This poor woman has now lost the last remaining family in her life. Her last blood relative anyway. Shoto had to be there for her. He needed to be in that room. “She’s my fiancé! I’m her family!”
He pounded his fist on the counter before he felt a large hand grip his shoulder. Looking up, he saw his father’s concerned face, Enji’s voice direct and sure as he addressed the receptionist, “We’re her family.”
The displays of raw emotion from the heroes moved the receptionist. She let out a sigh, looking over her shoulders for any other personnel. With the all-clear she leaned forward, whispering to the peppermint haired man, “Room 463.”
Armed with the coveted information, the Todorokis ran to the elevator, taking it up to the fourth floor. Getting out, they searched the halls until they found room 463. Walking in, the men finally laid eyes on Aimee.
The breath was knocked out of Shoto’s chest as he took in her frail form, hooked up to all sorts of tubes, wires, and machines. Taking in a shaky breath, he sat in the chair next to her bed. He gently took her hand in his, kissing her knuckles. “I’m here, Beautiful.” Just then, the doctor walked into the room, Shoto immediately standing, “How is she? Will she be okay?”
The doctor sighed, an apologetic look on his face, “She’s stable but she has lost a lot of blood. Because we don’t know what drugs she was given there was only so much we could do for her or risk making her worse. Unfortunately, now all we can do is wait and hope she comes to.”
All the color drained from Shoto’s face at the thought of Aimee never waking up. Turning away from the doctor, he made his way back to his beloved, kissing her cheek. He didn’t realize he was crying until he saw his teardrops on her face.
“She’ll wake up soon,” Enji said softly, moving to stand beside him. “She’s not the type to keep us waiting. She’s a spitfire after all.”
Days go by, Shoto never leaving Aimee’s side. Fellow heroes as well as former classmates all came by to visit the hospital room periodically. They brought the distraught hero food and well wishes as he waited and willed Aimee to wake up. They also updated him on the conclusion to the missing person cases. Lafayette Dubois and Colonel Faurie were deported to an American Prison, The Doc receiving a lesser charge for testifying against them.
After another long day of waiting, Shoto let himself fall asleep in his chair beside Aimee’s hospital bed. A few hours later, Aimee’s eyes finally began to flutter open. She groaned slightly as she took her in surroundings, finally locking in on Shoto’s sleeping form. “Cher?”
Shoto mumbled as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, awakened by her soft voice, “Aimee?” It wasn’t until his heterochromatic eyes focused on her face that he realized her eyes were finally open again. “Aimee!” The hero jumped out of his chair holding Aimee’s face between his palms, he couldn’t believe his eyes. “You’re awake!” Tears of joy began to stream down his face as he peppered soft kisses across her cheeks. “Thank God you came back to me, Baby…” He whispered, earning a small smile from the ravenette.
“I missed you.”
Shoto chuckled between his quiet sobs, “I missed you too.” Wiping his face, he gave Aimee another sweet kiss to her hand before rushing out to get the Doctor.
Within a few minutes, he returned with the doctor in tow, moving to sit back by her bedside. The Doctor gave the couple a smile before looking over her chart, “You lost a lot of blood so you may be a little weak for a few days. Other than a scar, you should have no permanent damage.”
Scar? Aimee carefully lifted her bedsheets to see a thick bandage on her thigh. She hummed as she carefully touched the tender area, wondering what it must look like.
“I’m so sorry, my love,” Shoto whispered in shame, his head hung low. “I scared your beautiful skin.”
“Stop. I asked you to do it, mon cher,” Aimee squeezed his hand in hers. “Besides, now I can really be part of the Todoroki Clan. I have my very own scar.” She giggled weakly, earning a small smile from the hero.
“You’re a very lucky woman,” the doctor interjected on his way out of the room. “You gave your fiancé here quite a scare. He never left your side.”
Aimee quirked a brow, looking over to her beau as a pink blush began to form across his cheeks. “My fiancé huh? Did I miss something?”
The hero only let out a chuckle as he rose to his feet, leaning over the ravenette with a smirk, “Don’t worry. I intend on asking you properly soon.” With that, Shoto closed the distance between them, placing a deep and passionate kiss to her plump lips, which Aimee happily returned.
