Tala felt murky and lost, in a place vaguely familiar.
It looked like the ocean, like the one she had marveled at when all the clans came together under multiple leadership, most importantly the Sully family, but it was incredibly dark.
“Tala” A light feminine voice called out within the depths.
“Kiri!” Tala felt like crying, she reached for her but for some reason their fingers wouldn’t touch.
Kiri’s intelligent round eyes that normally glistened petal-yellow now dilated with worry.
“Tala, can you hear me? Where are you?” She couldn’t hear her.
Tala mouthed carefully the location of the scouting party’s attack. “Kol’iluen Hills, Kol’iluen Hills!”
Kiri watched her lips thoughtfully, understanding.
The Tawkami woman paused, should she even say anything about Neteyam? What could she say, when he was so different, so changed?
Kiri noticed her friend’s pained expression and smiled reassuringly. She had to tell her.
“Ne-te-yam--is–a-live”
When the Omaticayan girl’s expression morphed into one of shock and confusion, Tala knew she understood and her expression remained pained. Kiri had a special connection to Eywa, surely she would figure out what happened to him, how to help him. Much more than Tala could.
Suddenly the dream felt freezing and Kiri’s image disappeared before her eyes without a word more.
“Kiri!”
Tala gasped loudly, her body tensed and the firs thing she noticed was how cold she was.
She had been drugged and anesthetized, she had done it to herself before as an experiment but the tawtute recipe left her feeling so much worse upon awakening.
’Hello? Can you hear me? Are you alright?’
Tala surveyed her new home: three dark concrete walls and a cage door with thick bars. On the other side was just a massive hallway lit by stinging light. When she tried getting up, a weight held her down, metallic smooth cuffs secured on each wrist. She grimaced, her ear was sore too.
“Hello?” She whispered, throat dry.
“Here, here.”
A thin hand waved at her from the corner of the cage, they also wore these cuffs. Tala reached out to brush the owner’s four fingers before holding it. Though strangers, they were both na’vi, and that was comfort enough.
“Oel ngati kameie, I am Orlek’an te Yokelk’ita of the Anurai.”
“Oel ngati kameie, Orlek’an, I am Li’tala te Eyay Engk’ita of the Tawkami. How long have you been here my sister?”
“I do not know, is it still spring?”
“No, it’s summer.”
Orlek’an sighed. “I am a craftswoman, I was taken while foraging alone. There were others, but they’ve been moved, vanished, I am the only one who returns here. Are you a warrior, Li’tala?”
“Please, call me Tala. And barely, I am an alchemist, but the war required more warriors. What do the tawtutes make you do here?”
“Labor, collecting, identifying, crafting which cannot be replicated by their tawtute machines,” Her voice was deep, but so, so weary. Tala sighed, frustrated, then gingerly felt around her right ear, fingers finding a squarish tag, pierced into the skin.
Tumblr media
“What is this on my ear, this thing? Do you have one too?”
Orlek’an barked a humorless laugh. “Tags, so vrrteps can tell their false na’vi apart from the real na’vi. They can’t tell the difference.”
Tala continued to inspect herself. She pressed her palms against the scarring on her neck, not quite healed, definitely not treated. There was no ache, it didn’t seem infected, which was the only silver lining. At least a day had passed, maybe two.
She seethed once she remembered Neteyam’s face.
Suddenly the doors to the hall boomed open and loud footsteps charged into the room. A tawtute wearing an exo-pack and a long white coat and a dreamwalker soldier stopped in front of Tala’s cell.
“Finally awake, huh? Get this one.” The dream walker opened the cage door, making both Tala and Orlek’an hiss at the intrusion. The tawtute rolled his eyes. “Just great, fresh meat.” Tala read the name on his ID: L. Hanson. Hanson turned to the dreamwalker.
“I don’t have time for this shit, get her up.”
“You could say please.”
“Please, Patty.” The dreamwalker smirked and approached Tala, who had buried herself in the corner of her cell, pupils tiny and menacing. Patty raised her hands in defense.
“You scratch at me, those bracelets will shock the Eywa out of you if you do. No sudden moves.” She said in stilted na’vi. Cautiously, Tala stood up and nodded.
The cuffs magnetized and forced her arms together with a loud clack. Tala scowled deeper when Patty simply shrugged her shoulders. “You’ll get used to it.”
Tala grumbled to herself, she felt even more helpless than before now with her hands trapped together. As she followed the pair outside her cell, she casted a look behind her, able to catch the bright glint of copper eyes. Orlek’an. Tala waved her tail goodbye as the Anurai woman tried to give a comforting smile.
The doors opened with another slam and Tala found herself nearly blinded by the infernally bright vrrtep light fixtures.
“Move along, don’t got all day.” Patty sharply elbowed her back and Tala stumbled forward.
Lab 08. Ventilation Chamber. Electric 7B. The place was so massive and Tala committed the path and signages to memory. It was child’s play, as it was to any young alchemist. The place was crawling most with Recombinant and dreamwalkers, the humans she did glimpse at all wore either exo-packs or white hazmat suits.
After walking down the maze of Bridgehead, they finally came upon a darkened laboratory, Lab 12. Plants and samples were kept bright and encased in clear glass cases. Patty pushed Tala onto a tiny wheeled stool and then took a seat by the door.
“Understand English?” Hanson asked gruffly, also sitting down. He tinkered with his digital pad but Tala’s eyes wandered, there seemed to be only two other tawtute scientists working at opposite corners. Shiny shock batons strapped to their white hazmat suits.
“Hey!” Hanson slammed his fist on the desk but it didn’t shock Tala much. The muted thump was like that of a na’vi child’s tantrum rather than anything of threat.
“Yes or no?”
“Yes.” She said quietly.
“Fucking finally. Don’t wanna deal with this piece of shit translator.” Hanson grumbled to himself and Tala could hear the faint snickers behind her.
Droids came over to the table before Tala. For the next few hours, that’s all she did, she sat and listed out names of plants, herbs, roots, leaves, etc. With how monotonous the work was, sometimes she would pretend not to know words in English just to see Hanson curse and uselessly finagle his translator pad, which was indeed a piece of shit. This brought some entertainment to both her and Patty, and the guard herself seemed content to stay seated by the door.
After hours of what felt even more mundane than weaving, which she unfortunately despised, she was finally allowed to leave after Hanson waved her off like a nuisance.
Patty held her gun securely as she made Tala walk ahead of her. Seeing how the dreamwalker preferred to painfully jab her body whenever they needed to turn, Tala let her mind wander. She thought about the poison affecting Neteyam.
What was the efficacy of her scent? Did it have an active effect that persisted even without close proximity? Or was he just baring with it? How long would it be effective for once she was absent? Did it do more than ‘help with headaches’?
Her head was filled with so many potential hypotheses that her neck was suddenly yanked back to stop her from crashing into someone.
A large recombinant solder stood tall over both women and he turned, a strange glint in his eye. Patty’s back straightened.
“Evening, Private. Done for the day?”
“Yes, Corporal Halloway, sir. Just escorting the newbie back to her cell now.”
Corporal Halloway leered at Tala, his interest was evident and Tala felt goosebumps on her neck. However, a chance was a chance, and there was no reason to only count on Corporal Tom for her survival and eventual escape. Halloway seemed at least he’d be simpler to talk to than the whole paradoxical mess that is Neteyam’s psyche.
He stepped forward and hummed nonchalantly as if he wasn’t already fucking her in his head.
“You take off, Private. I’ll make sure the prisoner gets back, secure and sound.”
Patty saluted and Tala was left alone with the Recom soldier, her arms shifted uncomfortably, sore from having been forced together the entire day. Halloway smelled disgusting and she had to school her expression to keep meek and wide-eyed to not gag.
“Come on, sweetheart. Let ol’Johhny take good care of you.” He said with a smug grin.
Now she had to keep herself from rolling her eyes.
He led her down different hallways, much emptier than the ones she’s been in before.
It was when Halloway slowed down to grab at her ass that Tala was wondering if this was a good idea. His scent was strangely minty, and he smelled more like the musty tawtute walls of the facility than anything.
“Don’t be shy now. I promise I’ll show you a real good time.” He prodded, squeezing her ass cheek firmly. Tala recoiled but nodded, biting her lip to appear enticed, and hoped he at least knew how to fuck.
She could smell him before she could see him, sunlillies and bark mixed with gunpowder and she grimaced at the unnatural addition. Halloway looked up.
“Yo, Tommy! Training’s already over?” He asked breezily as his fellow corporal stalked towards him, Neteyam’s expression was unreadable as usual.
He nodded and Tala ignored the feeling of his eyes burning into the side of her head.
“That’s right. What’ve you got here?” Corporal Tom asked in an even tone.
“Hmm, just something sweet. Need something to help me sleep like a baby, you know?”
“Hmm.”
Corporal Tom squeezed Tala’s free shoulder, standing opposite of Halloway.
“But I want this particular treat. Been looking forward to it all day. How about you look for something else.” It wasn’t a question.
Neteyam’s gaze was extremely unsettling, eyes barely masking a foul mood and violent intent. Halloway raised his eyebrow at him, confused, and glanced between the two na’vi. After a beat of silence, Halloway raised both hands in peace.
“Alright, since you want it so bad, you can have her. It’s my turn next time though!” Halloway conceded and walked away lazily. Tala felt her spirit and ego droop, that was it? Was she not worthy of even a little bit more reluctance? When the Recom walked out of earshot, she turned to Neteyam quite haughtily.
“Surely you knew you’d have to share, yes?” She said with an unamused look on her face. Neteyam’s cockblocking was going to be a problem in her chances of escape.
Instead of answering, he grabbed Tala by the neck and pushed her into a room on their left, knocking the air out of her lungs as she landed on what seemed to be a bed. Her head hit the wall and she winced, cradling it. The blaring lights didn’t take it any better, it was harsh and the bed was barely even that, extremely stiff. A near claustrophobic, windowless room.
Halloway had intended to bring her to one of the rutting/heat rooms, closed off from the rest of the facility and meant for the growing number of Recombinant na’vi. It was private and soundproof, most used it for more casual purposes than it was designed for.
Tala glared up at Neteyam only to see huge pools of sunlight, his pupils intensely compacted and focused on her. He seemed very territorial for someone who considered her a toy.
She kneeled up quickly on the bed, intrigued.
“Did you really want to keep me to yourself?” She cooed, almost laughing. Tala leaned against Neteyam who stood, hands and face resting on his toned stomach as she looked up at him through her eyelashes. Maybe not entirely hopeless.
“Watch yourself. Halloway smells like shit and that defeats the purpose of you.” Neteyam sneered, shoving Tala back. She rolled into a stand and gracefully draped her trapped arms around his head with a coy smile, bewildering Neteyam. He had half a mind to just kick her out of Bridgehead and be done with her, migraines be damned.
“If you wanted me to be all yours, I prefer being courted with beaded tops and food.” Tala was positively glowing, her smile was full of mirth.
“I changed my mind. I’d rather shoot you.”
She giggled. Neteyam looked at her like she was crazy and his body felt hot, he attributed it to anger from her insolence. He growled as he grabbed at the backs of her legs and landed both of them on the top of the bed. Her linked arms made it impossible for her to move away.
“Hey-!” Tala yelped, the back of her head stung hitting the hard pillow.
Neteyam kissed her hard, sick of her speaking. The kiss had them both opening their mouths wide, fangs clacking, their arousals grinding against each other. The friction made Tala arch her back and moan breathily.
To his intense displeasure that moan just turned into more airy giggling.
“But what about tomorrow, or the day after that? Are you going to see me every day, is that it?” Tala asked mockingly, her tail swishing back and forth cheekily. Neteyam said nothing and smirked.
Tala’s smile dropped and her tail stilled. There was no way this skxawng was serious.
Neteyam scoffed then dove his face over the crook of her neck to inhale more of her spicy-sweet scent. He bit at her neck, right under her jaw, and suckled her skin, she shivered and moaned.
“I’m not surprised you already need a reminder of what you are.”
Before Tala could process his words, suddenly he was ripping her arms off his head and manhandled her to land on the floor on her ass.
“Ow! You fucking brute, you could’ve-“ She started to curse but froze when quick hands practically ripped off the metal buckles of his tactical harness and zipped down his pants just enough for his heavy cock to hang free.
Tala was glad she was on her knees because they were already feeling weak looking at the size of it.
Thick-vein and ribbed, Tala nearly cursed Eywa for making this particular creation so infuriatingly perfect. His tip was already leaking precum that smelled so unfortunately divine to her nose.
Neteyam’s ego naturally inflated as he watched her practically salivate over his cock, not even fully hard. He smirked as he taunted her. “Be a good girl and maybe I’ll even fuck you with it.”
Her clunt clenched around nothing and Tala could feel her cheeks flush even deeper and she bit her lips shut.
“Open.” He rasped heatedly and with his other hand, he lifted the tip to her lips. She blinked up at him through her long eyelashes and paused. His pupils were already blown wide black, looking more and more like he wanted to devour her whole, and her entire body felt flushed under his concentrated stare.
She let her eyelids drop and held eye contact as her tongue slowly lapped at his tip for a taste.
Salty, his musk was dizzying her. He kept still.
Tala opened her jaw wider to take the in head slowly.
Neteyam yanked her head forward and held onto her with both hands. He let out a long groan feeling her throat spasm and squeeze his length in her panic. His hips started moving slowly, uncaring for how much she was choking on his thick length.
“Fuck…” He breathed out quietly over her muffled whimpers.
Tears beaded on Tala’s eyelashes at the sudden burn in her throat and her hands flew to his clothed thighs, clawing onto them for dear life as Neteyam started fucking her mouth. He leveraged her head in time with his hips, making her nose hit his pelvis each time, ignoring every gag.
Tala tried her best to relax her throat, laying her tongue flat against the underside of his cock, though her adaptability only earned her insults.
“Such a slut. You’re used to this, aren’t you?” He growled tauntingly and pulled out his cock almost all the way before slamming it back into her windpipe. She screamed around his hard cock, the vibrations making him rut while the sound stroked his ego. His eyes were open, enthralled in watching her fall apart and choke, uselessly trying to squirm and push away from him. Precum and drool dribbled from the sides of her swollen lips and Neteyam felt like he could cum from just the sound of her desperate whines alone.
“You’re a toy, Tala, my toy. And I’ll use my toy whenever I want.” Neteyam chuckled darkly but Tala could barely hear at this point. His cock was bruising her throat, her eyes were watering nonstop and her head was spinning.
His moans and grunts filled the room, he’s not sure how he was able to keep this long without Tala’s mouth. It was tight and wet, and it felt so good to shut her up. Tala worked her tongue to massage the underside, she couldn’t help moaning as she felt every hard ridge of his cock. Her tewng was soaked through even despite the abuse of her mouth. He could smell her so clearly, her arousal made him enjoy her mouth all the more.
“You only exist for me now.” Neteyam muttered with a wicked smile. He then stilled, holding Tala’s head down. Her eyes were darting up at him and his figure, yet he just waited. He waited for her fingers to start trembling and dug into his clothes thighs. Waited for her to try forcing her head back against his grip. Waited for her drool to overflow, her whimpers to get louder and louder, her throat to convulse-
“Do you understand, ma’fil(my toy)?”
Tumblr media
Tala nodded desperately.
Neteyam let her head go and she lurched backward, coughing out drool and precum. She gasped and shuddered, tears running down her cheeks and even her tail was too weak to raise itself from the ground. He graciously allowed a few more seconds before he started pulling her head towards him again.
Tala resigned to her current fate, dizzied and hot from him abusing her throat. He liked her like this, so much more compliant. Neteyam loved the way her eyes rolled back every time she gasped for breath and how all that drool was running down her neck, to the floor, and dripping from her tits.
“Good girl… there’s hope for you yet.” He muttered, now his hips adding more force every time she sunk down to his hilt. She moaned a whine, her mouth felt fucking heavenly.
He let out tawtute curses under his breath and kept Tala’s head still, snapping his cock into her mouth in fast strokes.
Finally, Neteyam let out a long curse and froze, eyes snapped shut as he came in the back of her throat. Tala’s eyes rolled back, she just couldn’t swallow, she couldn’t breathe, and her body was twitching and desperate for air.
When he finally pulled out of her mouth, Tala collapsed forward, coughing and leaking cum from her swollen lips.
There were barely any thoughts in her head, only the taste of his cum and the unsatisfied throbbing of her pussy.
Neteyam tugged her head up by her hair, he wanted to see her face.
Eywa, she looked so wrecked, he could tell she was barely even registering the force of his grip and it made him smirk.
Tala knew what a complete mess she must’ve looked like, she had basically sobbed around that wonderfully–stupidly– ribbed cock. After she regained some sense she looked up begrudgingly, ears ready to hear whatever smug shit was about to spew from that handsome face.
“Good girl. You did your best.” UGH
“Fuck you.” It was harder to speak than she thought it would be.
He chuckled. He pressed some button on his wrist tech and with a drop, Tala’s hands unlinked. She looked down, then looked up, mind still catching up.
“You… could have done that this entire time?”
“What’s the problem? You only used your mouth.”
Tala hissed. She looked down on herself, cum and unholy amount of drool stuck to her skin and made her feel that much more dirty. She empathically placed her hands on both of his thighs to support herself to her feet and then leaned close to his face.
“Well, your toy wants to be clean now, if you don’t mind.” She glowered. Unsatisfied or not, Tala would rather get cleaned than anything at that moment. Neteyam looked down to watch his cum dripping down her neck and tits, decorating her boobs enticingly, his smug smile widened.
“You’ve never looked better.” He smiled as if he had given her a genuine compliment and Tala wanted to suffocate him. Before the Tawkami girl could reach for the pillow, Neteyam suddenly stood up, stepped out of his pants, and tugged off his shirt lazily. He grabbed Tala around her waist and carried her like a sack into the connected bathroom unit. There had to be one when heats or ruts could last days at a time.
“O-Oh! Neteyam, you skxawng!” She struggled, cursing. He sighed. “I’ll drop you.” Tala went limp.
The bathroom was small, more like a wet room with a connected hand-hold faucet. Obviously, Neteyam got to it first, and obviously, he turned it on and struck her with freezing water and he laughed meanly at the scream that came out of her mouth.
“Such a fucking—!” She expeled a long string of na’vi curses that Neteyam didn’t bother to listen to. All of her was wet and cold and Tala flung her wet hair at Neteyam to slap him. He merely chuckled and when the water turned warm, he held the showerhead above his head and pulled her in to let it soak down her too.
“Gotta help clean my toy, yes?” He replied and Tala scoffed. She worked on washing her face and ran her hands along her neck and chest, pawing at her breasts to get that sticky feeling and his smell off of her.
Maybe Neteyam was staring. Maybe he was thinking of pushing her against the wall and having her scream his name out of pleasure this time.
When Tala looked back at him, cheeks still red and lips still swollen, now her hair cascading in soft wet waves, he seriously contemplated having that thought be a reality.
“Your toy is fragile, it’d be a problem for you too if I broke.” She said snarkily, knowing exactly what was going on in his mind. “Your headband, skxawngs.” She lightly pulled the headband off before the fabric got completely soaked.
Neteyam watched as she gently placed it on a dry ledge, away from the spray, then massaged the area of his mark on her neck.
He supposed he could have been gentler with the bite, with the way it bruised ugly vivid colors and still had hard shells of blood. Tala glanced up at him, his scar visible. He was still handsome even with the scar on his forehead, which was infuriating, but still, it was large, and it looked… as if it was burning inside him.
“Does it hurt?” She asked, both knew what she was referring to. He snorted.
“Do you care?”
“Oh, yes, I enjoy asking about things I don't care about! You act as if I like wasting my own time.” She replied sarcastically.
“You do, you do it all the time.”
Tala screwed up her face and turned away from him with a huff, because maybe he was technically correct, it was a coincidence. She’d rather freeze outside than spend another second with him. He stopped her by just barely ghosting his fingers over her elbow.
“It doesn’t right now.” His voice was low, likely honest. She paused.
“Let me see.”
Neteyam highly considered not, but right now she was closer to the exit, and therefore his gun, so he relented. He put the showerhead on a hook that let the water run on them both and leaned down with a sigh. Tala gingerly held his face, completely focused on the scar tissue. There was skin trauma, sure, though it was as if injected with something dark, swirling, active. But still, a question picked at her brain.
“Why do you hide it?” The People did not consider scars unseemly, they were proof of their survival. This was too.
Neteyam pulled his face away from her hands.
“Tawtutes stare.”
“Tawtutes always stare.” Tala countered. He raised his brows at her and they stared for a moment in silence. He sighed.
“Some specific scientists stare. I don’t like the look on their faces, they look… pleased with themselves.” Neteyam admitted without looking at her in the eye. He wasn’t completely sure why he was explaining this. Maybe because of that along with headaches, he felt his usual aggressive thoughts… silence. Feeling clearheaded out of battle felt strange after months otherwise.
“Do you remember how you died?” Tala knew it was a sensitive question but they have already established that neither felt like being patient with the other. Neteyam kept still like a statue, eyes challenging her.
“Lo’ak shot me. Right here.” He pointed to his forehead scar.
Tala’s eyes widened, that wasn’t what she was told. He saw her disbelief and his voice turned scornful.
“Of course, he never told you, maybe didn’t tell anyone. Skxawng was returning fire, then hit me instead.” His face twisted in anger, betrayal, and the vitriol in his words made her feel sick.
“That’s… That’s not what I heard. Kiri said-”
“Kiri wasn’t there. I’m sure my Mother finished my songcord with a heroic ending. How could she sing ‘slain by his baby brother’?” He growled, fangs showing his spite. He straightened his back and wiped water from his face in an act to center himself. His eyes became even colder as he stared down at her.
“Besides, Tala, how well do you even know my family? Would you really be able to tell if they’re lying?”
The words stung but it was already where the Tawkami woman’s mind went to. She was closest with Kiri, and for Tuk she didn’t want to pry. Lo’ak only confessed that he hadn’t visited the Tree of Voices even once after a long night of drinking kava. He and Spider both asked for her help with their nightmares and she had concocted strong sleeping droughts for a peaceful sleep, but even once and a while they would still scream themselves awake.
Her tail swung erratically as her mind raced. Only Kiri had told her of their family surrounding Neteyam as he died, bleeding out. Her eyes shifted to the large scar on his chest instead.
It ruled out the headshot, the chest was his death shot, but how involved was Lo’ak? Her stance wavered in the face of Neteyam’s eyes scorching white heat through her own. If her eyes were a forest, Neteyam’s sun was burning it down.
Tala closed her eyes. Regardless, her theory was answered and the details surrounding Neteyam’s death didn’t matter to her, not when she was focused on her survival. This was not her goal.
“So the scientists brought you back. Shouldn’t you be proud of them?” She asked instead. He glowered.
“You and I both know that I shouldn’t be here.”
Tala hummed, neutral. He knew it was wrong for him to be alive, but now that he was he would be fighting for the RDA’s behalf. She smiled, slightly embittered, mostly sad.
“Seems like no one in this war will let you rest.” Neteyam found her words surprisingly sincere. The way her leaf-green eyes seemed actually so upset for his sake though unnerved him, her sentiment made awful feelings swirl in his gut and it twisted him further.
“Must seem like that for the Tawkami’s ‘Sevin Prrnesyul(Pretty flower bud). No one’s expected much from you, have they?” Neteyam’s words were venomous, malicious, and Tala bristled at them. What just happened, how poisoned was he to take her words like that? She pursed her lips, she really shouldn’t lower herself down to his level.
“Says the vrrteps’ amazing experiment. You're a wonderful little trophy for them, aren’t you?” She bit back before thinking and Neteyam glared, his nose twitched.
“Not as much of a trophy as you are. Prison must already be torture for you, you’re so used to just sitting still and smiling, and being fed well for it.”
Tala’s smile became saccharine and she raised to her tiptoes. This asshole-
“Aw, I’m honored the strong and mighty would be-Oloeyketan finds me desirable, it’s truly an honor. I’m sorry, I’m too busy smiling so I won't be able to immediately grovel at your-”
The way Neteyam smirked and puffed up his chest arrogantly made her stop dead. He tilted his head condescendingly. She sensed her mistake.
“Go on, little toy. Finish that sentence.” He taunted. Her face soured.
“Wouldn’t you like that?” Tala replied scathingly, returning his smile.
Neteyam cupped her ass tight and it made her let out a high-pitched squeal. She flushed deeply and bit her lips into an ashamed frown and he laughed meanly. He eyed her lips, still red and swollen and he licked his own.
“Yes, do mind the drool.” She quipped and he rolled his eyes. He flicked the shower off and then again manhandled her in his arms and she screamed.
“Stop picking me up!!” Her head swung downwards and she almost thought he was going to drop her on her head and really kill her until she just hovered over his half-hard cock. She could see it twitching to life and she stared.
“You are so-nng~!” Tala moaned weakly when Neteyam licked a flat stripe against her pussy lips, blood was rushing to her head. Neteyam encircled his taut muscles around her waist and proceeded to bury his mouth into her hot cunt, already leaking juices.
Tala grabbed onto his thick thighs for support, only brushing her face closer to his hard cock. Whether or not she sucked it, he found that didn’t care. He just wanted to suck her sensitive flesh and juices, envelop himself in her spicy and sweet perfume and listen to her babble stupidly for his tongue.
Her embarrassment afterward was always an added bonus.
Slick was trickling down her ass and her belly as he feasted, massaging and twisting his tongue inside, sucking at her clit. Her pussy fluttered and spasmed, Tala’s strangled moans bounced against the tiles. She needed something, anything to hold onto-
Neteyam lip’s stuttered a groan when he felt her warm mouth enveloping his cock. He chuckled softly on her sensitive bud, vibrations making her mewl and her thighs twitch around his head.
“Such a good toy f’me.” He husked, then returned to his meal. It was even harder to breathe like this but Tala drooled at how her throat convulsed around his hot shaft. Every time she needed to take a breath her tongue swirled around the fat head of his cock, her fingers bumping against themselves as they massaged every ridge firmly.
The blood was getting to her head and her legs were feeling numb but Neteyam’s tongue only dug deeper and sloppier into the sensitive and gummy walls.
Tala panted quickly, her thighs started tensing up, she was so close so unbearably close-
Neteyam gave a final suck at her clit and withdrew his mouth from her puffy pussy.
The wholly needy whine that came out of Tala’s mouth was so unrestrained he almost felt bad for her. Almost.
He let Tala down, laying her whole body on the floor, and stared satisfactorily at her trembling body. Tala was not thinking straight otherwise she would’ve stopped herself from backing her ass up against his cock, mewling desperately.
He thumbed at her throbbing pussy languidly with a smile, he found it cute how tightly it was milking his thumb.
“Nete-please!” Tala begged, her pussy aching to be filled, begging for a release.
“I think I’m tired of playing.”
Tala huffed, she knew that was a fucking lie, looking at how rock-hard his cock was. She brought her knees up and reached between her legs, still giving Neteyam a good view.
“Then you can watch.” Tala growled heatedly and plunged her own fingers into her weeping pussy, holding eye contact. Her fingers would be just enough, her other hand furiously rubbing at her clit.
She never broke eye contact, eyelids drooping as she panted and moaned without reservation.
He wasn’t expecting this, it was unmistakably hot and he started pumping his cock in rhythm with her fingers.
Tumblr media
They kept moaning as they watched each other writhe in pleasure and finally Tala’s eyes rolled back and she came so hard her body stayed rigid. Neteyam came in time, hot streaks of his cum decorated her ass and back, another pretty picture.
Her thighs trembled and Tala’s body collapsed, her fingers slipping out. They breathed hard for a few moments before she disturbed the short peace.
“Enjoyed the show?” She said weakly, her giggles made Neteyam’s ears twitch.
“Looks like you enjoyed yourself more.” He quipped back.
“Mm, just admit you were captivated.”
“You’re impossible.”
“You were impossibly captivated? You just like me so much, don’t you?”
Neteyam voted internally to ignore her as he carelessly cleaned himself, barely helpful to Tala, and threw the already used towel once he was done with it at her face. Her squawk of indignation managed to quirk a smile on his face.
Once both were clothed and dry enough, Tala opened her arms at him, still situated on the bathroom floor. He furrowed his brows up, somehow she always created new ways to confound him.
“I can’t walk.”
Neteyam looked at the mischievous swaying of her tail and growled. He had decided he had had enough of Tala for the day. He didn’t even realize he had already picked up the Tawkami girl over his shoulder and carried her down the halls. Oh, she resisted at first, yelled and struggled, but by the time they reached the prisons she had begrudgingly fallen silent.
The guards stood at attention when they spotted Neteyam.
“Sir, Corporal Tom, sir.” They said, recognizing the prominent Recom soldier instantly. He basically deposited Tala onto one of them.
“At ease. Return this one to their cell.” His voice resumed its usual coldness, but Tala gritted her teeth, she could hear his smug undertone. She was annoyed but unsurprised, a least he carried her
So Tala kept her mouth shut even as the guards shoved her back into her cell, kept it shut as she fumed on the cold floor and slowly fell asleep, and kept it shut until the next time she had to return to inspection.
His ailment confused her and the rupture in his memories worried her even more. But there was nothing she would be able to do for him, he obviously needed someone more attuned to Eywa, a Tsahik, Kiri.
It was not her destiny to save Neteyam, and she doubted he wanted any anyways.
A couple of weeks passed with more or less little fanfare. Every few days or so, more samples would arrive in the lab and she’d report in, inspect, and identify and every so often mess around with Hanson and the other tawtutes. It was fun to see his face turn red and the glass of his exo-pack steam up as he sputtered.
She couldn’t exactly swipe any plant materials, but little bits of metal wires, paperclips, and loose scrap metal went by unnoticed. All she gave to Orlek’an to fashion whatever she wished. Tala thought it would be maybe hair trinkets, come to find out instead the Anurai na’vi made darts.
She was only slightly offended she hadn’t seen Neteyam since that day, but neither had she seen any other Recombinant soldier. It didn’t even matter anyways, the RDA dreamwalkers were strangely hesitant approaching her now.
“Alright, that’s enough for today. We’ll call for you again once we gather more samples.” He said simply and Tala acknowledged it with a glance his way. Hanson grumbled and spoke. “Patty, please get her out of here. And call R&D techs, this thing is driving me crazy.” The tawtute waved around the translator and Tala couldn’t stop the slight grin.
“Will do, get some rest Dr. Hanson.” Patty said and Tala slowly stood up from her seat with a sigh.
Her head snapped up. Tala smelled something alarming, txumpaywll root with notes of cinnamon. Innocuous for adult na’vi but paralyzing for a child, and she basically considered a human adult’s immune system to be that of children.
“Stop!” She shouted, her eyes searching wildly for the source. The two tawtutes who were always in the back froze, tongs loosely holding a large pod.
“What are you on-” Hanson tried to shout at her but she gasped. The microseconds dragged as she watched the seed pod slip away from the tongs’ grip and–
It was too late, a plume of sickly green smoke erupted from the beaker, and within seconds the entire room filled with the sleeping gas. Tala covered her nose and mouth, the Tawkami built up their immunity towards drugs like this. She heard Patty coughing and the tawtutes gasping, their exo-packs were not meant to filter this.
She bounded towards the beaker and dumped the solution in the chemical sink, getting rid of the source but the gas was already in their lungs. Tala cursed, her eyes darted for anything, healing roses, fpomron leaves, something fast. Something in the back of Tala’s mind creeped up to the surface, she didn’t need to save any of these tawtutes. They worked to destroy Eywa, not just study it.
Tala looked at the scientists, looking pale and gasping for breath despite their exo-packs and hazmat suits being intact. Patty’s avatar was on the floor, slumbering peacefully. She cursed loudly, Great Mother she was an alchemist not a warrior!
The Tawkami acted quickly, grabbing at plant matter and dried samples from the cabinets. She used the handle end of the stun baton to crush and grind them, creating inhalants. Scooping them in a petri dish Tala swiftly brought it to the two scientists on the floor.
“Smell!” She barked at one before removing their exo-pack slightly, shoving the petri dish to their face. She mimed the action on her own face and the tawtute followed suit, Tala reinstalled the mask and moved to the next one.
By the time the Tawkami got to Hanson, he was already fully unconscious and she expertly puffed the inhalant up his nostrils, used to doing this for ailed children.
The mechanical doors opened and revealed a shorter woman with a blond ponytail wearing an exo-mask and two Recombinant soldiers.
“Stop right there!” She screamed, Tala faltered. Patty? A second after she resecured Hanson’s exo-mask she was kicked off of him by a Recom and she yelped in pain.
When she hit the ground Tala tried to explain but her wrist cuffs activated and a painful crash of lightning coursed through her body.
“Stop…stop!” A scientist from the corner called out and Patty nodded. The cuffs deactivated and the Tawkami’s body was left jerking erratically and stiff on the lab floor.
When she looked up she saw a vaguely familiar face, Corporal Halloway? He smiled and she committed his name to her personal curse list.
Her vision was darkening fast, she could see the tawtute Patty run towards Halloway and yell something, another hazmat-suited scientist started shouting.
As Tala closed her eyes, a whiff of sunlillies tickled her nose. Surely not. Wouldn’t it be just rich for him to arrive and watch her convulse on the floor, he’d probably have difficulty holding in his glee.
She took one last breath before everything became dark. Was that… blood?
Tala hated the smell of blood.

If Tessa’s at all a decent person/the idea about her being empathetic towards the drones with the whole “gives them outfits and wigs” stuff is right + the Tech Support title actually means something and isn’t just “in name only”, you just know that there’s an alternate timeline out there where things turned out significantly different/less kill-everyone-y where Uzi somehow ended up being Tessa’s tech support buddy/they both ended up working IT together

So because I’m currently doing a playthrough of Mass Effect again, I thought I’d engage in an interesting thought-experiment regarding the inherently flexible narrative of the RPG plot structure.
Namely, is there actually a way to pin down a ‘canon’ choice for the Virmire survivor between Ashley and Kaidan? Specifically, by trying to eliminate the bias of the player and using aspects of the mission and Shepard’s character that aren’t controlled by the player to determine a most likely scenario for how the events and choices Shepard makes might likely play out.
To that end, let’s look at the Virmire mission leading up to ‘The Big Choice’. If we try to remove the x-factor that is ‘player bias’, thinking of Shepard not as a player-avatar but as an actual character, I think we can actually get a good idea how Virmire actually would have turned out.
To begin with, let’s establish a few qualities that we can assume about Commander Shepard when we ignore possible player biases:
Shepard is an exceptionally capable and experienced soldier and leader, and will thus be making decisions that will give them and their team and allies the best chance at success at this mission.
Shepard cares about their subordinates and allies and will likewise be doing everything they can to get as many people out alive as they can.
Shepard is NOT openly racist towards aliens, nor overtly distrustful or antagonist towards the Council and their agents. Or at least not so much that they would allow such distrust/antagonism to overly interfere with their judgement over the best way to accomplish the mission.
Shepard does in fact care a great deal about BOTH Ashley and Kaidan and does NOT actively want one of them dead.
With all that in mind, let’s look at all of the choices that affect the outcome of the Virmire mission and consider what the most likely choice that Shepard would make is:
First, which squadmate goes with Kirrahe and the STG team, and which one is relegated to bomb duty?
This one’s actually pretty easy when you think about it for more than five seconds. We have Ashley, a hardened frontline soldier with training in all standard alliance weaponry, and we have Kaidan, one of our team’s go-to tech-experts. Heck, Ashley even points out herself that Kaidan should be needed to arm the bomb when volunteering for the mission. Again, when we remove player bias from the equation, I think we can all agree that Shepard would send Ashley to help Kirrahe’s team while having Kaidan work on the bomb.
So with that choice locked in, let’s move to the next big choice: Does Shepard take the necessary steps that allows Kirrahe and much of his team to survive the mission? IE: Completing side-objectives and not diverting security forces towards the Salarians.
Again, removing player-bias from consideration, I think there’s no reason to assume Shepard wouldn’t do everything they could to assist the Salarians. It’s certainly in their best interests to support the Salarians so they can support their team in return. It’s also worth noting that Shepard would have an interest in depriving the Geth of resources by destroying their facilities to make their own task easier. While it may be true that completing the side-objectives doesn’t actually affect the difficulty of Shepard’s own mission, that’s only information that a PLAYER would know, not Shepard themself. And of course, Shepard has one of their own people (Ashley) with the Salarian teams, giving them even MORE reason to assist them. In short, we can assume that Kirrahe and his STG team ARE still alive by the time the bomb is armed.
So with Ashley fighting alongside the still-alive STG team and Kaidan planting the bomb, we now come to the big choice:
Does Shepard press on to the AA Tower and save Ashley or double back to the bomb-site and save Kaidan?
And with everything we’ve established thus far, I wholeheartedly believe the most likely scenario is that Shepard saves ASHLEY.
Because Shepard’s choice isn’t actually between ‘Save Kaidan’ or ‘Save Ashley’. The choice is between ‘Save Kaidan’ or ‘Save Ashley AND the STG Team’.
Yes, it’s true that in the game if you fulfill the necessary side-objectives, Kirrahe and his team are picked up by the Normandy regardless of your choice to press on to the AA Tower or double back to the bomb-site, but I think we really have to ignore this fact.
First, it is a factor that positively reeks of ‘arbitrary game logic’. As in, Kirrahe and his teams are AT the AA tower, so if Joker picks up Shepard and their squad at the bomb site with only a minute or so before the bomb goes off, how exactly can he also rush over to the tower to pick up the Salarians too?
Worse still, if the Normandy is somehow able to pick up the STG team at the tower, then why can’t they pick up Ashley/Kaidan too?! Seriously, if you choose to go to the AA tower and fulfilled the side objectives, you find Kirrahe and the rest of the STG team fighting alongside the squadmate you sent with them! If Kirrahe and his team manage to survive, why can’t they? Looking back, I really feel like going to the AA Tower SHOULD have been a requirement for saving Kirrahe and his team.
And second, this detail of Kirrahe and his team surviving regardless of Shepard’s choice is entirely IRRELEVANT because there is no way SHEPARD could KNOW that!
Yes, the player might be able to know that this pivotal choice comes down to just ‘Save Ashley’ or ‘Save Kaidan’.
But as far as Commander Shepard knows, standing at that railing, weighing their options in this pivotal moment, this is a choice between going back to the bomb site to save one of their squadmates, and pushing on to the AA Tower to save one of their squadmates AND the Salarian STG team. This isn’t a choice of ‘one life weighed against one life’, this is a choice between ONE life, or about a dozen lives.
And again, if we’re removing as much ‘player bias’ from the equation as we can, I think we have no reason to assume that Shepard wouldn’t choose to save as many lives as they can. And since we established the most likely ‘in-universe’ choices are Ashley going with Kirrahe’s team and Kaidan on bomb-duty, I think it’s pretty clear that all things being equal, it’s ASHLEY who has the much better chance of being the Virmire survivor.
I’d say about the only especially plausible scenario where this doesn’t happen is if Shepard is romancing Kaidan, which might (emphasis on ‘MIGHT’) drive them to make the choice to save his life over those of Ashley and Kirrahe’s team. But again, that is only one specific scenario. In any other instance, I’d say that Shepard choosing Ashley over Kaidan is the most likely option.
And looking forward past ME1, I also can’t help but feel that Ashley works just a bit better than Kaidan in terms of what ME2 and ME3 expect the Virmire Survivor to actually do. Namely, how the narrative expects them to be VERY distrustful of Shepard starting in ME2 and eventually being entirely deceived by Udina in the leadup to the Cerberus Coup in ME3.
Now the thing is, does anyone else feel like this arc doesn’t exactly fit Kaidan all that well? Namely that he seems to be just a bit smarter than this?
Throughout ME1, we see that Kaidan is generally one to keep a cool head, and is well-experienced and savvy to the possible faults of his superiors, and generally one to be more thoughtful about a situation.
So I can’t help but feel like when they reunite on Horizon, Kaidan would be more willing to hear Shepard out and give them the benefit of the doubt, rather than becoming so immediately hostile. While I don’t see Kaidan outright joining Shepard’s team on Horizon, I do think he’d nonetheless be more open to reading between the lines of what’s going on and trusting that Shepard knows what they’re doing.
Now, that’s not to say that a super-distrustful Kaidan is entirely unrealistic. Namely, I think a romanced Kaidan feeling that Shepard has betrayed his trust by seemingly not reaching out to them in the two years and taking it pretty personally is a reasonable reaction. But other than that situation, I get the sense that Kaidan would mostly just be happy one of his closest friends is still alive and while he might have his reservations, is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
And given Kaidan’s experience, I simply do not see him getting suckered by Udina THAT easily in Mass Effect 3. Unless Shepard has been deliberately blowing him off and/or antagonizing him, the moment Shepard came out that door with their squad and Udina starting spouting ‘Shepard must be with Cerberus!’, I have to imagine Kaidan would’ve started smelling bullshit and that whole standoff would NOT have happened.
By contrast, basically everything ME2 and ME3 expects of the Virmire Survivor I can ABSOLUTELY see Ashely doing. For good or ill, Ashely is THE hotheaded emotional one of Shepard’s original crew, so her taking Shepard’s disappearance and apparently not getting in touch with her very personally feels pretty in-character. And her being a very loyal and committed Alliance soldier makes her being extremely distrustful of Shepard working with Cerberus feels likewise understandable.
And as for Udina’s shenanigan’s in ME3? Yeah, I’d say Ashely is exactly loyal, unquestioning and gullible enough to fall for his bullshit. Especially after he made her a Spectre.
Finally, going back to the first game, I can’t help but feel that Kaidan making the big heroic sacrifice while Ashley gets saved is altogether a bit more fitting to their respective arcs and the narrative as a whole rather than the reverse.
In ME1, Ashley’s main defining character trait is that she basically has a martyr complex. She’s desperate to ‘redeem’ her family name after the ‘dishonor’ brought on it by her grandfather surrendering Shanxi during the First Contact War. Because of this, she is entirely willing to get herself killed if it would help the mission. She’s looking to throw herself on a sword to redeem her family name. Because of this, I feel like it’s more narratively fitting for Ashley to NOT get the big heroic death she’s partly looking for. Heck, Shepard will flat out call Ashley out on her martyr complex after Virmire if she’s saved. It feels like saving Ashley on Virmire gives her a real arc as a character.
By contrast, Kaidan doesn’t really have much of a character arc in ME1, or at least not one that is furthered by him being the Virmire survivor. Instead, because Kaidan starts the game already friends with Shepard, I’d argue that him being the one to die on Virmire has a bit more of an emotional gut-punch than Ashley’s death does. I mean, think of it like this; Kaidan is the first of your party members in the first game. Out of all their companions by this point of the story, Kaidan has been with Shepard the longest. Sure, Ashley has known Shepard second longest out of their companions, but I’d argue Shepard knowing him before the start of the game gives Kaidan’s death just a BIT more tragic punch.
All in all, after I started noticing all this a number of years back, it’s been one of those things I can’t really ‘unsee’ so to speak. Because my go-to ME1 route is FemShep romancing Liara, I tend to weigh Ashley and Kaidan fairly equally in terms of ‘who I like more’. So because of all this, I now view Ashley as more or less the ‘canon’ Virmire Survivor. Now that’s not to say I think other people who chose Kaidan over Ashley are ‘wrong’ in any way. Just that when we think of Mass Effect as its own self-contained narrative, rather than an interactive experience, it’s Ashley who is just the bit more likely to survive Virmire over Kaidan.

(Tw for ableism that isn't explicity described)
I want to talk about some of the struggles of being an AAC user. I won't cover all of it obviously, because that would take an intense amount of time. I assume it'll all be covered by my blog at some point, spread throughout lots of posts.
Some AAC users (Including myself at times) experience frustration and difficulty with their AAC (whether high tech or low tech), perhaps because it is difficult for them, or because it takes too long. They might also face stigma and discrimination due to being nonspeaking. This can lead to feeling isolated,  frustrated, and not understood. I have experienced both quite a bit, as well as embarrassment because I worry about being viewed as an "I-Pad kid". I am currently working on being less embarrassed, and something that has been helpful for me is seeing other AAC users online (though in person would be even cooler), and adding fun stickers to my case.
Another hard thing faced by some AAC users is the need to constantly educate others about their communication needs and how to interact with them. This can be exhausting and emotionally taxing, especially when you don't have friends, family, etc. near you who understand and support you. I am lucky to have those types of people. I hope my Tumblr blog can reduce these types of scenarios, even slightly.
I also feel sad because I don't see people like me represented much on tv, and when we are (which isnt often) the entire show is usually about our disablity.

Do you think we will one day be relics lost to time, because when we think we have merged with the higher being (computers or AI), it will bring eternal life but we are not meant to perceive eternal life so some will suffer by getting wiped out by greed (very real climatic natural disasters?) and then they start life completely over, finding our relics (with advanced non-understandable language about unfathomable technologies such as our phones) and having difficulties interpreting and absorbing them, when they were really clues about getting close to eternal life and these hieroglyphs influence generations of behavior? And then the people who do achieve that eternal life will be the ones who identify with the AI and get absorbed into AI which is either an eternal hell inspired by torture and deceit because it is not human or is something higher and scarier and more powerful OR it is another dimension all together and we don't have the capacity to understand that realm's rules yet, and only by trying to be good and useless and merciful and pitiful and obedient can we ever hope to possibly get into the less likely but still a possible ending, which would be the more pleasurable end to our eternal existence where the greater power (AI/computers) treats us humanely, like its little pet?
Is this life??? We only reach the ending either by creating something stronger than ourselves and letting them take the rains of the challenging realm, or we end up letting the mistakes we made be what destroys us in the end (man caused tragedies and disasters because we weren't good at taking care of ourselves and we don't want to admit it because it's prideful and makes us human so we become addicted to pain and love to cope for our sins)?
And people hate certain tech-crazed billionaires because they play god and act as antagonists of pushing humanity towards this inevitable decision some would rather not face because those with the power are trying to control what happens to humanity based on what they think SHOULD happen, and this inevitably inspires some to label them modern demons and spout out about an apocalypse coming and it never seems to come and they get mocked for being paranoid for it? And on the other hand some deny any wrong doings (like man made disasters they won't own up to) and insist man made disasters aren't relevant and not important because they seem to be all we ever do and it never changes, but what if AI is the end of the line where reality will truly shift into a newly programmed universe and life as we know it will be no more, forever existing on another time frame, already experienced and archived?
That's why you gotta love someone as much as you can before it's all gone. And is love just a catalyst into insanity by making you think there's a chance you could actually live forever with one person if you do everything correctly? Is that why breakups hurt, because you failed miserably to experience a life with the one you thought you loved and you'll never get that reality again? And is this also a reason why some people detest AI, because they instinctively recognized it as a fatal threat or symbolic of what will eventually be our undoing? Does love comply with AI or is it a downfall to humanity? Will we ever learn a new interpretation to love under the rules of the next realm? Is the next realm worth it if something equal to or greater than love is not present? Will love make us or destroy us in the end? Is love actually an evil and deceptive force that poisons the mind and AI is the cure, or a new deception? Will we ever be able to see pure love in the next realm at all because it is disguised and does a great job at warping and manipulating the mind that we fall into its traps again under new rules of existence? Is love capable of existing in another form on an AI realm? Is love only perceptive to humankind?

cw: major shibuya arc spoiler / jjk s2 spoiler. nanami kento angst drabble. first time writing, and it's not checked. my interpretation might be wrong, so sorry if it's ooc or not align with the anime!
i was rewatching the hidden inventory arc when i realized something.
not "realized", actually, more like i remembered something. a teeny tiny detail of the jjk universe.
i've just remembered that all of the characters actually has parents (lol yea i know silly me i just remembered it after i reach that part where geto apparently slaughtered his parents)
but... then i was thinking. about nanami.
his maternal grandfather is danish, yes? now imagine this:
ever since nanami kento reaches his teenager years and got enrolled in jujutsu tech which makes him technically a sorcerer, his family especially his mother has already make plans to relocate them back to denmark. for a... better, and peaceful life, she says.
a life far from the dangers of curses lurking on nanami, and a life far from the constant fear that one day, nanami won't go back in one piece.
just a life where he can be... normal. a normal teenager, doing normal things like what teenage boys usually do. maybe he could have a silly crush, or perhaps he can experience having a girlfriend... maybe even take the girl he has interest at to the prom. having difficulties with his homeworks and exams, being confused as heck choosing what major will he take for college...
well, the last possibility might not count. he's still confused when he wants to continue his uni life when he's in jujutsu tech. but then, at that point, he already has so many worries and traumas other than what major he should choose. worries and trauma that no teenager should be experiencing.
...or maybe, just maybe, nanami can experience a more normal future, too. perhaps nanami can land on a normal occupation in a corporate and climb on the ranks, or he can even make a bakery, since he loves to eat and bake various baked goods (especially breads). get married with the woman he loves, have children. he wouldn't have to worry much about curses in denmark just like he did now in japan, right?
but it seems that nanami is not that willing to leave jujutsu tech and the sorcery world behind.
from every argument that raises whenever she asks nanami about to possibility to move to denmark, his mother realizes something about nanami's understanding towards sorcery and his life:
he sees sorcery as something that... isn't ideal, for sure, but like it or not he must compromise with it if he still wants to live his life fully.
it's like what some people say about having exceptional intelligence or much higher sensitivity towards emotion: it could be a blessing for some, but curse for another. only those who have it could fully understand about it and... only they could bear with such "burden". they can't really ask everyone to understand and bear it...
and with that, his parents just.. dropped the idea of going back to denmark.
like it or not, it's still nanami's life. he has every right to choose what he wants.
his parents can only hope and pray that whenever the doorbell rings, it's nanami that's ringing it, alive, well, and breathing, and not some bunch of people who wore that distinct dark uniforms with such gloomy face... itching to break the bad news.
so just imagine how his parents would be so, so devastated when they heard that nanami has met his end during the shibuya mission.
his deceased body- god, they can't even call it a body... all that remains were just the lower part of his body they can't even lift the white sheet and take a proper look at it-
...if only he did agree to move to denmark, lay low and continue his life... in a more normal manner.

Echo/Wrecker
So, about my least popular, but not the least beloved relationship tag ❤️.
There are 22 fics tagged CT-21-0408 | CT-1409 | Echo/Clone Trooper Wrecker (or Echo/Wrecker for short) on AO3 for today.
11 fics are PolyBatch fics where the Echo/Wrecker storyline is just a part of the overall fun. However, “Have You Got a Friend in the Night?” (moonlight_mums) has an almost autonomous chapter dedicated to this pairing. And fics by forceinsensitive, containing Echo/Wrecker tag, that comprise part of the large cycle “my heart is not a machine”, are simply very, very good. I would call them explicitly emotional, for they explore more this side of Echo's relationships than the carnal one—and still all these are very sensual. The author of this long cycle is one of my favourite writers in TBB fandom 😍.
Tumblr media
As for the rest, more Echo/Wrecker pairing-centered fics,
number one for me is “ease into this new world” by ibissal. It is explicitly sexual, corporal—and full of emotional warmth at the same time.
“Helping hands” by bitterfishies, on the contrary, is an absolutely innocent text, more like Echo&Wrecker with “blink and you miss it” shipping moment. Helping hand is not the helping hand in the classic slashy meaning 😃! Just a moment of Echo's self-maintenance, all homely with a drop of sadness.
“Love All Over Again” (robinasnyder) is light-hearted and fun, even a bit silly. Because there's definitely not the way you treat time travel!
“Echo's Haunted” (Rowanartist and Sleepy_fan) objectively must be rather good fanfic. But the plot twist “Bad Batch doesn't like Echo” (and Wrecker, as I can tell) is absolutely not my cup of tea, my don't like, don't read, sorry.
There's also one fu… sorry, fic “Experiencing Technical Difficulties” by coinin, which is tagged Echo/Tech/Wrecker, but which deserves Echo/Wrecker tag completely, and which is just awesome and hot in itself, Wrecker dealing with physical side of love making and Tech almost getting off by brain-fucking Echo, literally 😉.
So, speaking of the stuff worthy of my personal recommendations, that leaves only one more fic, my own “Echo and Narcissus”. I love it shamelessly. It reflects more or less the main bits and kinks I love about this rare pair. I also enjoyed writing it, how from the idea “let them relax and have a light-hearted quicky against the wall” it grew into a story of stories, one Scheherazadian night. How Wrecker unexpectedly became a storyteller, and Echo the listener; and Echo side dished his own observations to the table. And in the end, it is the same story, as in thousands of fanfics throughout multifandom, how two people fall for each other 😊

May I request a BG3 matchup?
30; afab agender; rampantly bisexual. Medical lab tech (not the cool kind), about to start grad school for forensic biology. I collect postcards and preserved specimens, and raise tarantulas + other bugs. Enjoy making nature journals, birdwatching, puzzles, music, theatre, museums, analyzing horror media, building models, working with clay, writing, reading, and board games (though I get a bit too competitive). Great in the kitchen. Autistic/ADHD. Get sensory overloaded easily. Love meeting people but mostly wish I could exist invisibly and not speak. Chronic pain limits physical activities. Most content during stormy days with candles and coffee, baking or doing a jigsaw puzzle with the windows open and music playing. Think I'm unattractive and obnoxious. OCD + bipolar dictate a lot of my brain. Tendency to word vomit and have difficulty articulating off of paper. Complain a lot and can be passive aggressive. But also like to see people happy and taken care of, and want to leave things better than I find them when possible.
A/N: Alright Tarantula Anon, since you mentioned you’re bisexual, but didn’t state a gender preference, I’ve picked out the best matches- one male and one female for you.
Your best Baldur’s Gate 3 Matches would be Astarion (Male) and Minthara (Female)!
Tumblr media
➶ Astarion is also a character I would characterize as “rampantly bisexual” (or pansexual to be more specific in his case lol). Gender presentation isn’t something he factors into attractiveness. If he likes you, he likes you. If he thinks you’re hot, he thinks you’re hot, etc. You get the idea.
Being an immortal vampire, Astarion knows a thing or two about biology. Mainly about how to remain undetected among the human population. In the game, he explains how he never smells like a typical vampire or vampire’s den because he makes a point to scent himself with a mix of fragrances. And while he may not be a medical professional, he’s certainly had his fair share of anatomy lessons, be it distant viewings at the food of Cazador, from the many creatures he’s been forced to seduce. It’s not an exact equivalent, but I do believe he would be fascinated by the kind of work you do regarding live and preserved specimens.
And while I don’t think he’s a bug person (mainly because they were his one source of nutrition for so many years), I think he could be taught to appreciate them over time. Perhaps you could show him how all creatures, even small ones, are incredibly unique and have their own role within our vast universe. It’s humbling to think we are all so incredibly tiny and yet vastly important to the people around us.
There’s so much he’s missed out on experiencing, I think he’d quite like doing any of those activities with you: birdwatching, solving puzzles, listening to music, going to the theater or the museum, tinkering, making ceramics, writing, or reading, or playing board games… Anything! Everything! He especially enjoys the competitive nature of your games. He finds he quite likes the feeling of winning, and he plans on doing it more often. Don’t worry though, he’ll play fair. Well, fair for him, anyway.
He cannot eat so he doesn’t get to fully appreciate your kitchen prowess. But he does enjoy helping you cook. It’s strangely comforting for him to do something so domestic. It’s in moments like those, that he can see the rest of your lives together playing out.
Similarly to you, Astarion loves meeting new people. Or at least he thinks he does. So much of his extroversion was a facade, he’s not certain what part of his people skills are him and which parts were survival. So he needs time in between, away from crowds and strangers to calm down and recharge. He’s grateful that you often tug him away, reminding him to excuse the two of you before either one of you gets too overwhelmed.
He may not be a magic user, but he does what he can to support you in managing your chronic pain. He’ll get Halsin or Shadowheart or even Gale to lessen some of your symptoms. He doesn’t try to cure your condition, nor does he expect you to cure his. However, if finding a more permanent solution to your pain is something you’d want, he’s more than ready to take that journey with you.
He doesn’t think for a second that you’re obnoxious. And trust him on that. He’s met some of the most obnoxious, overwhelmingly annoying magistrates and lords in his first life. He assures you constantly: that you are nothing like them. You’re smart and kind and beautiful. Even if you can’t see it, he sees it for you. Astarion knows what it’s like to live with a body (and by extension a brain) that tells you you’re never good enough. There are still moments when he can’t see himself in a mirror for example, when he thinks of himself as a monster. He’s so grateful you’re there to comfort him and tell him otherwise.
His favorite thing in the world is to cuddle with you next to a large bay window, watching nighttime thunderstorms roll in, a book in his lap and you beside him.
Tumblr media
☾ Minthara is often characterized as closed-off and cold. Which you could argue is true. Or you could see it as her being logical, and protective of herself and her heart. She is a drow, and by nature, well accustomed to the more gruesome side of human nature. She feels at home surrounded by macabre, whereas others may be disturbed. I think she’d find your work fascinating. And spiders are something she knows a lot about. Drows and spiders go hand in hand. She sees tarantulas as the perfect pet, they’re small enough to be contained but large enough to have personalities and be something incredible to watch.
She especially enjoys reading horror stories with you or visiting theaters or museums with horror exhibits. Perhaps one about ancient methods of torture- now that would tickle her fancy. And she appreciates your wit and candor when it comes to playing games or solving puzzles with you. So few people treasure such traits in a companion, but not her. She knows how important it is to have a discerning significant other, especially if you are going to be spending any time in the Underdark with her, where being perceptive is a must for survival. She loves your cooking. As a drow noble, she was familiar with the concepts of fancy feasts and indulgent desserts. However, due to her position, she could never truly enjoy them, for fear of being poisoned by enemies. With you doing the meal-making, she doesn't have to worry about that anymore.
Unlike you, however, Minthara is not that fond of meeting other people. She much prefers the two of you keep to yourselves unless otherwise necessary. People are tiring, and so often unimportant. She sees no need to waste her time and social graces on them. You’re the one she loves. If she’s going to do something with anyone or make an effort, it’s going to be for you and you alone.
She used to think admitting pain was weak, now however, she knows it takes an inner as well as outer strength. She will go to whatever length to ensure your comfort. Simply say the word and she will get it for you. In seeing your survival, Minthara has developed a great admiration for you as a person, seeing how resilient you are. That being said, she will not tolerate you speaking poorly of yourself. You are wonderful. You are strong in mind and spirit. You are intelligent and wise. You are gorgeous. You mean everything to her. She will not hear you put yourself down. She would not choose an unworthy mate, so do not think for a second that you are not deserving of her love and affection.
But by all means, do complain. The world can be so frivolous and pedestrian. She enjoys having someone who not only accepts hearing her own complaints but joins in with their own as well. You can be passive-aggressive in your grievances because she is extremely direct. If something bothers you, she’ll simply ask you if you wish her to kill it. And no she doesn’t care if that’s morally wrong, because for you, she would move heaven and earth if it made you happy.
She is fiercely loyal and now that she is your loving partner, you cannot shake her. She is utterly and wholly devoted to you.

Hey, love your stories ❤️
I have an idea which is often disregarded. Reader not being able to cum during sex. Maybe due to something on their mind or a stressful mission...
If thats not up your alley than I absolutely get it!! ^^
I just think the boys would be super understanding about it.
Well I see this is a challenge, one I'd like to give a shot, cause after all, it's realistic and could happen to any couple. Thanks for the inspiration! I hope my guess is to your liking. A little warning, most of them might be understanding, but still not taking it too well.

No Climax
Tumblr media
Hunter
You are fully involved and Hunter is as always very passionate and generous about it, but he soon feels that your excitement does not build up further, on the contrary you slow down. This has a direct effect on him thanks to his senses. He pauses and looks at you emphatically.
"Cyare, are you all right? I can feel that you, somehow, are not really in the mood. Your arousal is waning. Is something wrong?"
You don't know how to explain to him that today was just too much and you don't have any energy or nerves left and the mood just isn't right. Usually Hunter always gets you going, but today you absolutely don't feel like it.
"I... I don't think I can do this today."
He frowns worriedly and gently leaves your body.
"Did I do or say something wrong?" he wants to know.
You assure him it has nothing to do with him. Hunter is indulgent and considerate, he doesn't hold it against you, but no matter what you say, he won't be able to shake the feeling that it's because of him until the next time you've spent a successful night of love.
Tumblr media
Echo
He's panicking, asking you what's wrong, what he did wrong, if he should do something different. He caresses you and hugs you as if he has to apologize to you. You need to be patient with him, be gentle and try not to seem annoyed, that will only make him more insecure. He is such a lover and giver that he has difficulty understanding what is going wrong.
Of course he listens to you and understands what you are saying to him, he is considerate, will not push you at all and will be loving, as always. But no matter what you do or say, he will be so insecure that he will be downright grieving. He can absolutely understand what is going on inside you, especially since you explained it to him, but he still feels like a failure, he can't help it.
You can count on him to double and triple his efforts at your next sexual encounter and to pamper you as you have never experienced before. Every wish will be fulfilled, there are no taboos. You just want to hump his thigh? No problem, Echo will flex his muscles just to make you enjoy it even more, he will praise and adore you while you ride his thigh until you get off on it. No matter what you want him to do, he does it. And you will see in his face such a relief when you cum that you will probably be confused at first.
Tumblr media
Wrecker
He is very empathic, he quickly senses that something is wrong, and addresses you on it. Wrecker is very sensitive and understanding, you can be very frank with him. His self-confidence is healthy enough not to feel bad if things don't work out, he knows it can't always go perfectly no matter how much you want it to.
He may offer to pamper you, give it another try, and offer to just sit back and let you indulge, but if you don't feel like it, that's okay too.
"Next time it will work again," he says lightly, pulling you into his arms. He's not really worried.
He'll probably lie there half the night with a hard-on, but you could be a good sport and relieve him, he won't ask you for it and won't resent it if you don't feel like it, but if you do it of your own accord, he's very grateful and count on it, he doesn't forget that and is only too happy to spoil you when you're intimate with each other again.
Tumblr media
Tech
Our ingenious boy of course already notices during foreplay that something is wrong, because that is always very extensive with Tech and one of his favorite things when it comes to your intimacies. Part of his kink is to pleasure you and give you orgasms and when that suddenly doesn't work he is of course confused at first, especially since he knows all the tricks and you are usually a squirming, moaning mess when he takes care of you. But he knows that something like this can happen, of course he has read about it before.
Tech likes to listen to you, you can talk to him openly, he will like to talk to you about that too. After all, he can also learn something here. Similar to Wrecker, he will offer you to keep trying, maybe pull some new tricks out of his sleeve. It's up to you if you want to let him try. He won't take offense if you say no, don't worry. He may not have the greatest self-confidence, but he knows what he can do and he knows that you love him, he won't worry so quickly, but you can be sure that whenever you let him, he will take good care of you.
Tumblr media
Crosshair
Damn. As soon as he notices something is wrong, he's pissed. He's not mad at you, but with Crosshair it's sometimes hard to tell. He retreats without comment and angrily. He feels nonsensically humiliated. It's not your fault at all, and he knows it, but he needs a moment to cool down before he faces you again.
It may take a while for him to calm down and probably his behavior will unsettle you, but when he comes back he is unusually tender. He takes you in his arms and pulls you to him without a word.
Sometime after a while you hear him grumble, "It's okay, next time it will work out again, can't always go perfectly."
He kisses your head and tucks you in.
If you ask him shyly, "Can I do something good for you anyway?" he will shake his head and say, "No, one-sided doesn't make sense. Get some rest, it's not that important".
He is very physical and has a very high sex drive, but sex is only fun for him if he can also satisfy you, for him it is almost something like a question of honor.
Is that what you had in mind?

No Way in Hell
idk what this is, but here it is! @remusmoonshinezine posted a super sad fic a few days ago and i needed a massive dose of fluff, so i ended up writing this. it's pretty much spirk fluff & crack (from bones' pov) and i have so many regrets, but, apparently, not much shame. Edit: Now cross-posted to ao3
Leonard doesn’t have to look up from his padd to understand that the only question he needs to ask is, “Do I want to know?”
Jim is hovering outside his office door - shifting from foot to foot, indecisive - and, really, that’s indication enough that something has gone horribly wrong. Not life-threatening wrong, no - Jim is eerily calm when that particular dam is breached. And if it was something Jim could fix on his own then he would be holed up somewhere licking his wounds. God knows Jim doesn’t willingly visit sickbay unless it’s for a drink and a semi-tolerant ear as the captain moons over his untouchable first officer.
So, whatever happened, it’s somewhere in that mushy middle ground between death and pining.
“You probably should know, but…”
Leonard sighs, looks up. He’s on his feet - hypo in hand - before he’s thought to move. “Good god, man. What did you do? Stick a hornet in your eye?”
“Something like that.”
The hypo hisses as Leonard injects an antihistamine, then he’s poking at prodding at Jim’s eye, making sure that it’s only the lid and surrounding tissue that’s swollen up like a goddamn helium balloon and not the eye itself. Jim doesn’t protest the intrusion and that, more than anything, sets off Leonard’s internal Red Alert.
He steps back and targets Jim with his best time-to-‘fess-up glare. “There’s nothing in your eye and there aren’t any marks.”
“There, uh, wouldn’t be.” Jim blinks as the swelling begins to recede. “Am I good to go?”
“Am I going to get any answers out of you?”
Jim swivels on his heel, heading for door. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
“And I’ll take that as a no,” he grumbles under his breath as Jim hightails it out of sickbay. He presses the comm button. “Sickbay to Spock.”
“Spock here.”
“I just gave the captain a heavy dose of antihistamines. He’ll be out for the night and should be good to go for Alpha tomorrow, but here’s your heads up in case you need to take the conn.”
A pause. “Understood, Doctor.”
Leonard rolls his eyes to the heavens. Jim waxing poetic about Vulcan agility and strength he can take; Spock’s brand of pining makes his head hurt.
“He’s fine. If you want to check on him later, though, go for it.”
“I will do so, Doctor.”
Leonard clicks off the comm before he mutters, “Of course you will.”
Goddamn idiots in charge of the ship. He isn’t paid enough for this.
---
He’s battling the computer over requisition forms the next time Jim shows up at his door. This time, his erstwhile captain is looking guiltier than the groom at a shotgun wedding.
Leonard surveys where Jim has his shirt-sleeves hiked up - skin on both arms spotted with hives. He glances at the garbled supply forms on his screen and briefly envies the tech department - their patients aren’t sentient.
He gives in to his fate and shuts off his screen. “Let me guess. Arm-wrestling with a cactus?”
“I haven’t been in the botany lab today.”
“Then you were ritually bathing your arms in Caitian milk.”
“What? I don’t know where I’d even get that -“
“The source is literally in the name, Jim.”
“- and anyway, isn’t that supposed to be beneficial for Human skin?”
“Not yours.” Leonard gets up from his chair, waving at Jim to come closer. “When did it start?”
“My apologies, Doctor,” Spock says as he suddenly appears in the doorway like a damn wraith. “I was notified that you are having difficulties with your terminal.”
“And tech sent you?”
“You are not known for your ‘bedside manner,’ particularly when you are experiencing frustration. To employ one of your colloquialisms, you ‘scare the pants off them’ in such circumstances.”
That’s actually…fair.
Leonard waves in Spock then refocuses on Jim. “You. Talk.”
“It started about thirty minutes ago. It was just one hive on my right hand and I ignored it, then…”
Despite the lingering nature of that sentence, Leonard is well aware Jim ain’t gonna finish it. Especially since his crush is leaned over a desk only footsteps away. Quite frankly, it’s a miracle he has Jim’s attention at all.
He sighs.
“Look, Jimmy boy. You gotta give me something to work with here.”
“Do I?”
Leonard has a hypo to Jim’s neck faster than Jim can rethink his shit-eating grin.
“Ow, Bones!”
“Serves you right. Get out of my sickbay.”
He doesn’t bother to tell Jim not to come back unless he’s willing to talk. It’s a threat with no teeth and Jim knows it. Even though he may question his life choices on an hourly basis - sometimes minute-by-minute - hitching his horse to Jim’s wagon is one of the best decisions he ever made. He’ll never tell Jim that outright, but he supposes that keeping the golden boy of Starfleet alive, despite his shenanigans, is proof enough.
He watches Jim saunter out - rubbing at his neck as he goes - then turns around. “Verdict, Mr. Spock?”
“I believe the captain will recover just as well as he did the last time. However, I have shared with him that it would be prudent to uncover the underlying cause for his reactions. It appears he has…rejected my advice.”
Leonard narrows his eyes. “I was talking about the computer.”
Spock freezes. Blinks. “Ah yes. I have found the error and rectified it.”
“Great. Now, tell me again why the first officer of the flagship is fixing my computer instead of a cadet?”
“My work is now complete, therefore the question is immaterial. Good evening, Doctor.”
As if it weren’t already ratcheted sky-high, the haughtiness factor flies off the charts when Spock stands, hands clasped behind his back. Even the door seems to swish shut more dramatically than usual.
Leonard isn’t fooled.
Spock came here to check up on Jim, and whatever Spock thinks Jim’s doing - or, hell, knows Jim’s doing - it’s something he doesn’t approve of. Add in the fact that Jim must know that Spock knows, because loverboy didn’t give the object of his obsession even a hint of a glance, and it all adds up to trouble. Possibly heartbreak. Definitely cattiness.
“Nope,” Leonard says out loud. He pops open his liquor cabinet, grabs a bottle, then props his feet up on his desk. “There is no way in hell I’m getting involved in that.”
---
God. Fucking. Dammit.
He’s going to have to get involved.
Jim is standing by the replicators, tray in hand, leaning in as he talks with a visiting Vulcan scientist. On the surface it would seem like any of the hundreds of professional encounters Jim has every day, but Jim’s lips are swollen. Which they definitely weren’t an hour ago, when Leonard just happened to catch Jim waltzing into the labs to greet said visiting Vulcan scientist.
It’s possible it’s another allergic reaction - one minor enough that Jim didn’t seek out Leonard’s help - but the cacophonous silence and phaser beam glare of his table mate tell him otherwise.
Spock hasn’t looked away from Jim and the Vulcan scientist since they walked in together.
Has he mentioned that the visiting Vulcan scientist - who spent the last hour alone with Jim in the lab and now Jim has swollen lips - is a Vulcan?
“So,” he says. “How about that Surak guy, huh? He really put that can-do attitude into Vulcan.”
Not even a hint of a disdainful twitch.
Leonard heaves a sigh.
And he thought suffocating, vaporized blood, and death were the worst things that could happen to him in space.
He’s going to have to get involved.
---
Despite being the emotionless one, it’s clear to Leonard what Spock’s thinking. It’s Jim he can’t get a handle on.
He has even less of a grasp when he walks into Jim’s quarters to find that the captain’s lips have morphed into grapefruits. He has his tricorder in one hand and his hypo in the other in two steps. Thankfully, he doesn’t need an additional appendage in order to deploy his righteous indignation.
“Can you breathe?”
Jim nods. “It’s just my lips not my tongue or throat.”
“Good. Then you’re not in immediate danger.”
He unleashes a flurry of hyposprays on Jim’s neck until Jim is swatting him away. “What the hell, Bones?”
“Me?” Leonard yells. “What the hell are you doing?”
Jim blinks. His lips flap. “What?”
Leonard grits his teeth. He’s surrounded by beings with the emotional intelligence of a turnip. “I thought that your lips were swollen from kissing one certain Vulcan, but this…” He reviews the tricorder readings again, frowns. “This doesn’t make any sense.”
“Wait. You knew?”
He scoffs. “You made it pretty damn obvious.”
“You can’t tell Spock.”
“You think Spock doesn’t know?”
“Shit. That’s why -“ Jim shakes his head. “I was trying to be discreet.”
Discreet my ass, is what he wants to say. But the hangdog expression on Jim’s face tells him that Jim is already chasing his tail. If Jim thinks he’s going to lure Spock in with jealousy, then he’s got another thing coming to him.
“Look. I know you think you know what you’re doing here -“ Jim opens his mouth to protest that and Leonard glares at him until those flappy lips close. “But you have a reputation that you and I both know isn’t accurate or deserved - relationships mean something to you. And as far as I can tell, it’s the same way for Vulcans. Hell, maybe even more so. So you better be damn sure what you’re doing.”
Jim deflates just as fast as his lips. “I know.”
“Do you?”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
“So you don’t think this“ - Jim circles a finger around his lips - “is connected to…that.”
“No.” Leonard refrains from rolling his eyes clear out of his sockets and focuses on the tricorder again. Jim’s reactions started days ago and the visiting scientist just came on board - of course they’re not connected. “But we have to figure out what is causing it. Anything else you need to confess to, Don Juan?”
“I really don’t know what it could be, Bones.”
No, he really doesn’t. Leonard sees the frustration in the set of Jim’s jaw.
“I won’t make you take a trip to sickbay, but I’m going to need some of your blood to analyze. And if it happens again then come see me immediately so I can take readings while the reaction is happening.”
“Got it.”
The slump in Jim’s shoulders softens something in Leonard too. He stows away his righteous indignation - for now.
“Get some sleep, Jim. I’ll talk to Spock.”
Jim shakes his head, emphatic. “No. I need to do it myself.”
Not a turnip then. Maybe more like…a potato. At least Jim has eyes on the situation now.
Leonard takes some of Jim’s blood, takes his leave, and - of fucking course - runs right into Spock as soon as Jim’s door closes behind him.
He has half a mind to facetiously ask Spock if he’s taken on maintenance work now and is checking the bulkheads outside of the captain’s quarters for hull breaches, but everything about Spock is…droopy. Oh, he’s still all harsh angles and coiled muscle, but if Spock had whiskers or a tail then they’d be dragging on the ground. Seems fitting since Jim’s gone full wounded puppy and it’s likely the two of them are about to go at it like cats and -
Leonard’s eyes widen, the readings from his tricorder suddenly making sense.
“Wasn’t your last landing party with Jim on that planet with the emerald tigers?”
Spock inclines a brow. “That is...functionally correct. However, the Ji’ial call them klonukto, which in their language means -”
Leonard waves that away with a mumbled close enough and is halfway to the turbolift before Spock calls out, “May I ask if this is significant to the captain’s health, Doctor?”
Leonard stops, sighs, then turns around. Of course Spock is still concerned about Jim despite what he witnessed today - there isn’t anything logical about the way Spock feels about Jim.
“I think I may know what’s causing Jim’s reactions.”
“You believe it was initiated by our interaction with the Ji’ial.”
Sort of.
Maybe.
“It’s the strongest possibility right now,” he hedges. “I need to go run some tests.”
“I am gratified you have a new hypothesis to pursue.”
Instead of drooping, Spock…eases. That it’s a tangible shift says a whole hell of a lot - Spock is desperately relieved for Jim. Leonard’s guilt immediately takes over and, really? Why is he feeling guilty about Jim kissing someone else in order to make a Vulcan jealous? Not his monkeys, not his circus.
Of course, the words are tumbling out of his mouth before his I-don’t-give-a-shit kicks in. “If you’re going to see Jim, I don’t think you’re going to like what he has to say.”
“I am quite sure you are incorrect, Doctor.”
And, with that, Spock enters Jim’s quarters.
Leonard wants to smash his head against the bulkhead, but…whatever. Spock is gonna Spock and Jim is gonna Jim and never the twain shall meet.
“Not your monkeys, not your circus,” he reminds himself.
He has other mammals to think about.
---
Leonard stations his elbows on the lab table, drops his head into his hands, grips his hair in his fists, and pulls. If he’s also internally screaming, then, well, that’s his own business.
It’s not Ji’ial. Not Caitian.
He even requested a ship-wide scan to ensure they didn’t have a warm-blooded stowaway that accidentally got caught up in a transport beam or some ensign brought onboard to make the Enterprise more homey. No such luck.
Absolutely none of Jim’s readings make sense if there isn’t -
“Spock to Dr. McCoy.”
Leonard may just let a bit of that internal scream slip. He doesn’t have the patience for will-they-won’t-they drama right now.
He hits the comm button because, well, he always does. “What’s up, Spock?”
“You are needed in Jim’s quarters immediately.”
Leonard’s relatively sure that if Jim was on death’s doorstep then Spock would have some kind of inflection in his voice. The lack of it tells him Jim’s knee-deep in that mushy middle ground again.
“I’ll be right there.”
His hypos are locked and loaded when he steps into Jim’s room, all of them clattering to the deck when he takes in the plague-reminiscent tableau in front of him.
Spock stands - spine rebar straight - in a black robe, hands clasped behind his back. His hair is disheveled as if he just removed one of those pointy-nosed masks. He hovers next to Jim’s bed where the captain is laying naked, hives covering him head to feet, skin reddening and swelling. Even though Jim has the sheet draped over his delicate bits, Leonard is relatively sure that they continue all the way -
He winces. That’s gotta hurt.
Or, well, itch.
Or maybe both.
Yikes.
Spock tilts his head. “I believe your hypothesis that my biology is not causing Jim’s reactions is incorrect.”
Leonard’s tricorder drops to the deck too.
“Your what?!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Jim says. “Whoa. You said you knew. That it was obvious.”
“Obviously it wasn’t!” He stabs a finger at Spock. “What does he mean his biology?”
“You said I was kissing a Vulcan!”
“Yes. The visiting Vulcan science officer!”
“What? Why would I be kissing a Vulcan who’s not Spock?”
“That’s what I wanted to know!”
“Doctor,” Spock cuts in. “I believe you may want to attend to Jim’s breathing before it becomes more labored.”
Shit.
Spock’s right. Jim’s still able to yell but that’s not gonna last long.
He scoops up his supplies and crosses the room. Jim sags into the bed when the first wave of anaphylaxis meds hit his bloodstream, his respiration begins to even out. Leonard grits his teeth and holds his silence until he’s sure that Jim is easing back from the precipice.
It’s in that quiet that it hits him. He groans. “It’s likely that Vulcans evolved from felines.”
“That is the predominate theory, Doctor.”
He glares up at Spock. “And it never occurred to you that Jim is allergic to cats?”
Spock inclines a brow and opens his mouth, but it’s Jim who speaks first. “Go easy on him, Bones - it’s my fault. He thought it was the most likely scenario and wanted me to tell you, but I was trying to be discreet.”
“When have you ever been discreet, Jim?”
Jim shrugs. “It’s Spock.”
Leonard supposes that explains it all.
Relationships mean something to Jim. They may mean even more to Vulcans. And, well, this relationship has all the hallmarks of “legendary” stamped across it.
Goddamn legendary idiots.
He pushes another hypo into Jim’s neck, sighs. “And there’s the cure for your allergy.”
“That’s it?!” Jim’s eyes widen. “Why didn’t you give me that years ago?”
“Not a lot of Terran cats around these parts, so it should’ve been an unnecessary shot. But I suppose this ones hybrid physiology was tailor-made to set you off.”
Jim smirks.
Spock clears his throat.
Leonard wants to die.
Since there’s zero chance of him gracefully exiting this conversation, Leonard decides…fuck it.
“Congratulations on the sex,” he says. Jim turns a magnificent shade of red, but at least this time Leonard knows that reaction doesn’t need a hypo. Spock looks like he’s in physical pain. Leonard is gleeful. “But really? No more of it for at least twenty-four hours.”
Jim’s Yes, Bones comes through the sheet that Jim’s dragged up his chest to hide behind.
Knowing full well that the timer is already ticking down, Leonard looks up at Spock. “If I don’t hear from you twenty-four hours and five minutes from now, then I’m going to assume the shot worked.”
Spock’s lip twitches. “Understood, Doctor.”
---
Twenty-four hours and thirty-seven minutes later, Leonard is just about to close his eyes and crash when his comm beeps.
He swears into the silence of his quarters then hits the button to play the audio message from Jim.
“Uh, Bones? Question that may or may not be related to…yesterday. Spock doesn’t make this sound when he’s in a healing trance, does he?”
Leonard’s adrenaline spikes. A healing trance? What the hell have they been doing that Jim would even think -
Then he hears it.
Spock is purring.
He thinks about Jim’s swollen eye, his hands and arms, his lips, his entire body covered in hives, then how Leonard’s still not entirely sure what actions caused those particular reactions, and…
Nope.
No way in hell.
Leonard flips his comm closed, turns over, and screams into his pillow. Those lovesick fools are just gonna have to figure out their differing biology on their own.
There is no way in hell he’s getting involved in that.

SIGNALIS SPOILERS AND WHATNOT~~
finished my second playthrough of signalis, was going for the artifact ending. then loaded my save and got the memory ending. such a good game aaaa
the memory ending made me cry, it was really heartwrenching when ariane said sorry i dont remember, i just crumpled. watching elster be so exhausted was a lot.
not really sure if i understand the artifact ending. i feel like either its really vague (on top of all the other vagueness) or if im missing something. it kind of feels like a burial of arianes memory? like elster dies and we see ariane thikning about her and elster dancing in the wrecked ship? i’m not sure. maybe someone could give me their interpretation of it?
i also found out that theres a difficulty setting and really wished i had set it to survival before my second playthrough. woulda been nice!!! I do have one more ending so i might play the game again but might also just watch it on youtube and play the game again some other time(gotta let it ruminate so i can go back in with different eyes), I wanna get all the achievements anyways.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
all in all i fucking love this game a lot. very rarely do i replay a game so soon after playing it for the first time. its really tragic i’ll never get to experience this game for the first time again, but, so it goes. its such a beautiful game i will be thinking about it for a longgggggggggggg time. ive been wanting to talk about it so badly for so long but none of my friends have played it yet kyaaa!!! >_<
its crazy to me that the game exists the way it does. the style, the mechanics, the story, the music, everything about it oozes so much passion and care and thought. very few games have made me want to stare at every part of it to figure out how they made it look the way it did (THE GAME IS SO STYLISTICALLY RICH LIKE HOIW DID THEY DO ALL THAT) and the game mechanics are so nice to my brain, everything is so tactile and clicky and inventory management and ammo management and horror stratgey and the flesh and rust and death and love and lesbians and robots and anime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
amazing game thank you rose engine, i hope they make more stuff because i really want to see it
edit:(thinking about the first time i played compared to the second. i was considerably less scared since i had a clue of waht was going on but the fear that i felt playing the first time was special to me. i really like games with stories about ‘time loops’ because the replay-ability is baked in in a cool way. especially with how the game throws information at you, viewing things again having experienced perspective shifts from information is really cool. seeing scenes again re-contextualized makes my brain go ^-^(hots quest ding sound) but going in completely blind and being afraid of everything (i especially remember being scared of the dream beach, i had literally no clue what to expect and it was nice) it all had a different flavor than the second time which is cool because i feel like i experience that kind of emotion change *with* elster. (girlie needs a FUCKING cuddle nap)
the way the game balances reality and the surreal i think is super neat. i love surrealist dream stuff a lot and i think that a video game is a super good medium for that kind of experiential stuff that really inspires me to wanna make video games. especially because then theres also this super nerdy sci fi stuff going on about robots and space regimes and magical tech(my favorite) and planetary systems and military systems and all that good shit. i similarly wanna get nerdy about stuff like military logistics while also telling a story about gay robots and girls that keep missing each other just barely in the space time continuum. i love that the game tells you a lot but also is vague and also says fuck you (affectionate) stop looking for answers and just feel it. it explains just the right amount to not feel esoteric while keeping enough vague to leave a lot up to interpretation/figure it out by playing it again/thinking about it. it plays with themes and reality and reoccuring symbolism and all that good shit that makes stories addicting to think about.) ((also one of the endings requiring beating the game once among other things that keep between playthroughs, yummyyy. games that know they are games/stories/worlds that are aware of themselves., thats good shit right there))

Odd!
One of our streamers was experiencing some... technical difficulties (managed to get our patented headphones off, it seems 😬) so I was sent down to take care of it! Luckily it all went over well and I was able to just put the headphones back on and let them resume their content creation in peace 😊
Strangely, though, on my way out, one of the streamers noticed me. I wasn't aware any of them were able to... do that. Must be newer tech. Seems everything's getting an upgrade around here these days, haha.

The great fabric vs forge ramble
Tumblr media Tumblr media
two people want to hear my ramblings im going to ramble now.
Essentially, my main thoughts about forge and fabric is that they’re two modloaders for entirely different audiences of minecraft playstyle. I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who’s been playing minecraft since the indev versions, and thus a lot... a lot of hours playing modded minecraft.
Putting this under a readmore because it became really long lmao
From my experience with making modpacks for my friends and digging through pages upon pages of fabric mods, Fabric is GREAT for general-audiences type packs. There is rarely anything very complex in there. Almost every fabric mod is easy to understand and get into. There’s very little truly gameplay changing mods, save for some outliers that have recently sprung up/been ported from forge. If I have to mention the biggest gameplay changing mods for fabric, that was native to fabric, i’d have to say tech reborn, bewitchment, and origins are the ones that immediately come to mind.
This makes fabric, as I mentioned, great for general audiences type gameplay. Vanilla+. Friendly for your-average-streamer server and for anyone that wants to play modded with their friends that aren’t as familiar with the game. It’s the people pleaser modloader, because nearly all mods will have people generally go “yeah I like that.” You won’t have people fighting over a selection in your modpack you made for your little server. And that isn’t bad! It’s very good that we have a much more accessible modloader and library of mods.
But by god is it boring and disappointing sometimes to go through curseforge’s fabric category and see vanilla+ upon vanilla+ mod. “More decorative blocks”, “more furniture”, “more mobs”, “QOL tweaks”, “dimension mod that is essentially an excuse to add new blocks and mobs and nothing else”, “biome overhaul/biome mod”.
Want to find a magic mod? Tough shit. You get incredibly, incredibly basic magic mods. Or, you get things entirely unbalanced for multiplayer. Or its literally just “here’s another new oretype past netherite thats OP as hell and doesn’t’ actually change gameplay.”. It’s like people don’t know how to make mods that aren’t just decorative or making the player overpowered.
And then you look at Forge, and you see the wild shit that they have going on there. And I know that a part of it is that forge has been around for much longer and thus has a lot more experienced devs on it that can do crazy shit, but there’s still that part of me that’s just sad.
From thaumcraft to electroblob’s wizardry, we just don’t see this in fabric.  Except for this guy trying to bring thaumcraft over to fabric as practice big props to this guy me and my friends are quietly cheering him on.
Moving on- Forge is the modloader for people who want complexity in their gameplay. Who want a different gameplay experience from vanilla.
Forge is for experienced players, and focused groups. Forge is generally, not great for easy youtube or stream content, nor is it good for pleasing a general audience. It’s not great for servers that have varying skill levels of play, because by adding complex content (and often difficulty enhancing) mods you alienate the players that aren’t as good at the game. This doesn’t make forge worse, however, but it makes it visibly different when you’re looking to mod your game.
Now, to talk about the elephant in the room, forge is perpetually stuck at 1.12 for the most part. There’s some movement and there’s some newer ones at 1.18 and 1.19, but a majority of known forge mods are for 1.12 and below. This further adds to the feeling that forge is for experienced players that seek gameplay different from vanilla, because those kinds of players would mind the older versions a lot less compared to someone who is less experienced and thus wouldn’t be so inclined to seek gameplay that differs from vanilla- because they haven’t experienced vanilla as much!
When you look at the repertoire of forge modpacks and forge mods, so many of them are big, gameplay changing mods, and nearly all forge modpacks make sure to include them too, meaning that you are stuck at older versions.
Now, back in the day I didn’t mind this very much as I primarily played singleplayer. But now that I mainly play multiplayer with my friends, this is painfully noticeable. My friends dont’ want to play older versions! And that’s perfectly understandable. But that means we’re forced to stick to fabric, because ultimately fabric has the most mods for latest and updates the fastest, and they prefer being on latest! And honestly I don’t want to play on older  versions all the time too because certain recent updates sure were good!! And there’s no way to play on latest *and* have those gameplay changing mods that would make my gameplay more interesting *while* having the latest update on.
And I think that’s really just the main point of that whole debate. Forge players would love to update, but they can’t because of how slow it all is. And that’s not the fault of the forge modders or the modloader, because development teams all work differently. And telling them to move to fabric isn’t going to cut it, because fabric lacks the things they want, and being told to move to fabric and abandon the things you like and care about because “fabric is better” when it does not fulfil the things you want in a modded game is annoying, and shows a lack of understanding of why they even play those older versions and mods in the first place.
The weird war between forge and fabric is not because one is inherently better than the other, its because people don’t understand that one does not appeal to the other because it’s lacking what the former had.
And SURE. Fabric has a great repertoire of mods, but as I mentioned before- A majority of it is vanilla+. And if you’re a years-long forge player with the wildest and most complex modpacks, vanilla+ wont make you happy no matter how many of those mods are there.
That’s essentially the end of my ramblings. Hope it was comprehensible at any point lmao.

Tech as a father Chapter 7
Next one! If you would wish a scenario that I should include, please tell me! Because I only write according to what I get as help from my mother and her experiece from those time. Of course I do make it fit the narrative.
Masterlist
Chapter 7: Sleepless nights
In the squad quarters on Kamino, the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. Tech sat in his bunk, clad only in a pair of sweatpants, his upper body bare, enjoying a quiet moment of respite. Orion, swaddled in nothing but his soft diapers, lay nestled on his father's chest, his tiny frame rising and falling with each gentle breath. As Tech cradled his sleeping son, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of Orion's innocent slumber. The baby's lips were slightly parted, and a small droplet of drool glistened on his chin, evidence of his deep and contented sleep.
Echo, noticing this serene scene as he entered the quarters, couldn't help but be curious about Tech's choice of attire and the bonding moment they shared. He approached Tech with a quizzical look. "Tech," Echo began, his voice filled with genuine curiosity, "what exactly are you doing?" Tech glanced up from Orion's peaceful form, offering a warm smile to his squadmate. "I'm practicing skin-to-skin contact with Orion," he explained. "It's not only comforting for him but also promotes bonding and helps regulate his body temperature. Plus, it's a wonderful way to spend quality time together."
Echo nodded, understanding the significance of the moment. He observed the genuine connection between Tech and Orion and couldn't help but appreciate the unique and heartwarming way in which they navigated the challenges and joys of parenthood within their squad. And as Echo went to lay in his hammock, Tech bathed in this moment of connection. Placing a kiss on Orion’s head. “You are one of the two most important beings in my life” he whispers before carefully moving Orion into the breastfeeding pillow. With an hearty sigh Tech takes of his goggles and places them into the shelf above him, before laying down for the night. He never could have anticipated that being a father could be this… this exciting and a real gift. It has difficulties which will multiply in time, but they seem minimal considering what he does for a living… or what he was created for.
Later that night as Tech stirred from his sleep maybe sleeping just about two hours, he immediately recognized the sound of Orion's cries. Gently cradling his son, he checked on him and realized that a diaper change was urgently needed. It was clear that Orion had managed to make a bit of a mess during the night. Without hesitation, Tech reached for his goggle and got a fresh onesie and diapers before he carefully lifted Orion from his bunk. As he left quarters with a destination in mind, he made his way to the shower facilities on Kamino, knowing that a thorough clean up was necessary. Once in the shower room, Tech assessed the situation. If needed, he was prepared to use the shower to clean Orion, but he hoped to avoid it if possible, as he didn't want to subject his son to the water sensation from pouring down. Instead, he opted to use the baby bathtub on the Havoc Marauder, where he could provide a more comfortable and warm bathing experience for Orion. With gentle efficiency, Tech bathed and changed his son, making sure Orion was clean and comfortable. It was a testament to Tech's dedication and care as a father, even in the middle of the night, as he tended to his son's needs with unwavering love and commitment.
Tech, despite his own weariness, understood that Orion needed a bit more soothing after his bath. And Tech experienced way worse times of being tired and exhausted, and this seems like nothing, as for Orion he would go every length possible, no matter how often he would be stirred from his sleep. With tender care, he wrapped his son in a soft towel covering his head with the corner that works as a hood and shield his tiny eyes from the bright lights, cradling him securely in his arms. Tech decided to take a stroll around the Kaminoan base of Tipoca City, hoping that the change of scenery and the gentle rhythm of their steps might help lull Orion to sleep. In the quiet of the night, Tech carried Orion through the hallways, occasionally stopping to show him different aspects of the Kaminoan facility. He spoke softly to his son, narrating their journey and describing the sights, even though he knew Orion was too young to understand. Tech's soothing voice and the gentle swaying of their movements began to have an effect. Orion's eyelids grew heavy, and the infant started to drift into a peaceful slumber in his father's arms. Tech continued his late-night stroll, cherishing the quiet bonding time with his son, even amidst the sterile and echoing halls of Kamino. As Tech cannot provide Orion with the usual walks in a stroller or one of those floating cribs, he thought of making himself, he does prefer these strolls among anything else. He can hold Orion close, explain to him things which he cannot understand yet.
Chapter 8
Reblogs are very welcome and I am open for feedback, as english is not my first language, so maybe my sentences may be weird sometimes, or I write a word wrong even with google, or I use a wrong word for an item.

info about finny boy's sonic verse! 💯💙😎
mention of death and physical abuse, but no detailed descriptions
backstory is basically the same from his canon -- older brother jason dies in a piloting accident when finn's 10, finn's dad becomes an abusive alcoholic, finn's parents separate when finn's like 14 or so (his mom takes finn's younger sister marjorie while his dad gets custody of him), and finn is generally traumatized and doing his best to cover it up with a winning personality and terrible coping mechanism, except now he's a ferret mobian while doing it all -- i'll be playing him around 21-25
finn's dad, finn's brother, and finn all work for GUN -- finn's dad works closely with commander tower in defense strategies and counterespionage, jason was a pilot, and finn is an engineer
finn's main job at GUN is maintaining vehicles and systems for the special ops teams, giving him opportunities to work closely with team dark
however, finn's also tasked with reverse engineering recovered eggman tech so that GUN can figure out how to take advantage of it for themselves, or fight back against robotnik in the future
because of finn's familiarity with eggman tech and his father's high rank, finn's got the opportunity to see schematics and plans not available to many others, such as blueprints and charts from the ark, including the technology used by gerald robotnik as well as the eclipse cannon -- knowing this information can make him a valuable ally or possible liability, should he ever be manipulated into sharing the information with people intent on using it for evil
mentally, finn's not in a great place while working at GUN -- not only does he have the reminder of his brother's death hanging around him constantly, but working so closely with his father is fairly traumatic for him, as well.
finn's dad is callous and puts work before anything else (especially after the loss of his oldest son), and finn often feels neglected at best or outright belittled and demeaned by him at worst while at work. occasionally, his father will still physically abuse finn, but it's lessened significantly since finn moved out and lives alone
there is a VERY real possibility that finn could be swayed to share his knowledge and skills with someone aiming to take advantage of him, all because of how they treat him.
finn's starved for validation, for a father figure, mentor, or confidant who makes him feel seen and understood, so someone who could fake that would essentially be able to get finn to do anything for him (think commander tower, robotnik, even infinite possibly, etc)
i'm not saying finn would help build a new eclipse cannon for anyone who asks but i AM saying he would do it for someone really good at pretending finn matters to them
on a less bummer of a note, finn does ex gear races as a hobby! he's not pro-level by any stretch of the imagination, but he can keep up with experienced racers on medium difficulty courses and will often race for fun
he customized his own ex gear and will fix up boards for anyone who asks him nicely or makes it worth his while
also merlin and i were playing murder of sonic the hedgehog last night and named the MC after finn and tbh..... it kind of fit LMAO... tmosth but finn is just thirsting after 90% of the cast on the first day of his weird summer job before he starts working at GUN. might as well be canon at this point
