SCOM SIDE STORY FINAL CHAPTER! "And this is my four leaf clover"
Tumblr media
Image commissioned by @skeptical-rainbows
RULERZREACHF4N to hello_willow: WiLlow …
Before considering what to say next, Hunter looked at the time and shook his head. He deleted the message and made another attempt at cleaning, only to hear his own scroll buzz on the table.
hello_willow: Knock knock.
A matching knock tapped on the front door. Raising an eyebrow, Hunter padded quietly to open it, and there, under the light of the Noceda’s porch – bundled in a thick jacket and a woolen hat in the shape of a bee, stood Willow Park. Her breath hung heavy in the air.

Come Away With Me - Anthony Bridgerton x Fem!Reader
Anthony Bridgerton x Fem!Reader
Content : fluff, kissing, slight "argument"
Summary : Anthony cannot sleep after realizing he is in love with you. He asks you on a midnight stroll through the garden, confessing his feelings for you.
Word Count : 1.5K
A/N: hi everyone! I had a lot of fun writing this fluff piece and I hope you enjoy it. if you like it, pls reblog and let me know if you would like to see more <3
Tumblr media
Anthony Bridgerton usually had the quip of “Very well, I thank you for inquiring” with a slick smile when asked the question “How do you sleep at night?”. He was a rake, devilishly handsome, and if he saw a woman he might want, all he had to do was quirk the corner of his mouth to have her falling to pieces over him and his perfectly styled brown hair.
Tonight, however, was different. Anthony wasn’t sleeping well at all. No, Anthony Bridgerton had come to the realization that he was desperately in love with one of his dearest friends. You. And he had to tell you immediately. He pulled himself from his bed and threw on an overcoat. He did not much care how he looked, only that he had to see you immediately. He knew it was risky, court season was a breeding ground for scandal and theatrics. But he couldn’t take it any longer. You only lived next door, and he didn’t care who saw the two of you strolling through your family’s luscious and sprawling garden. What better place to confess his feelings than in the place where the two of you used to frolic as children?
Stealing around the back door, he throws a small stone at your window, hoping that you would wake, or a better circumstance, that you were still awake. He has never felt this way before. It is strange. And scary. He did not like how his heart felt as if it were beating out of his chest every time he thought of you. You, who were sunshine and light and the most beautiful thing he has ever laid eyes on. Anthony had never acted upon these feelings that he knew, deep down, had always been there. He couldn’t bear to face rejection from one of the loveliest people he has ever had the pleasure of knowing.
So there he stood, pacing slightly while waiting for the sight of your face to appear in the small window above him. Finally, you appeared, and he registered the look of shock upon your face.
You pushed the window open slightly, leaning your head out. Your hair was pushed behind your shoulders, the light blue nightgown you wore accentuating your figure nicely, and Anthony swallowed at the amount of your chest he could see from your leaning figure. “Anthony?” you half whisper, concern taking over your features. “Are you alright?”
“I cannot sleep. Come away with me, down to the garden for a stroll?” He replies, attempting to be as friendly and casual as possible. You raise an eyebrow, thinking this is an odd request, simultaneously thinking that he would not be at your window at this hour unless it was something urgent.
“I shall grab a coat and be at your side shortly.” You say, closing the window and disappearing from view. Anthony chastises himself for his heart’s refusal to settle.
You slowly come through the kitchen door that leads into the garden, closing it quietly so as to not wake your slumbering family. You make your way towards Anthony, smiling slightly at the disheveled, messy state he was in. Whenever you were out in public together, he was also so put together, so observant, so…well, so him. Anthony offers his arm to you, and you place your hand in the crook of his elbow, savoring the warmth your fingers find there. You had been infatuated with Anthony since you met him. He had always been confident, intelligent, and daring. But he was rakish, and could be condescending and a know-it-all as well. It was best to protect your heart from hurting by loving him silently from afar.
“What could be on your mind at this hour, Viscount?” You say, nudging into him slightly with your shoulder. In all the years the two of you had known each other, he had never come seeking you so late. You glance at him, trying to gain a read of what he would say next.
“I am having a terrible time falling asleep, I thought I would ask a beautiful lady for a stroll, is all.” He replies softly. He stills seems as if something is bothering him, but you knew that you wouldn’t know until he was ready to tell you. You blush at his compliment, rolling your eyes.
“Well, I suppose that you are lucky that I was up so late reading.”
Anthony nods softly, leading you towards a stone bench near the lovely fountain in the middle of the garden. You sit, watching as he hesitates between sitting next to you and remaining standing. He chooses to sit next to you.
“Y/n.” He says, a much more serious tone overtaking him.
“Anthony.” You say back, mimicking him.
He cracks a smile. “You make it utterly hard to have an important conversation, darling.”
Darling. He had never called you that before. You focus your eyes on him again, wondering what this could all be about. His dark eyes focused on yours, flicking to your lips before settling on the whole of your face. The cold of the stone bench was pressing in to you, and the intensity of Anthony’s gaze had you nervously awaiting whatever it is he wanted to speak to you about.
“Y/n…I cannot deny it anymore. I am in love with you. You are the light that shines on a dull day for me.” Anthony says, releasing a breath that finally stilled his aching heart. And to his dismay, you laughed.
You laughed, and laughed. But when you realize that Anthony’s gorgeously dark eyes had not left you, you stood up quickly. “This is not a funny jest, Anthony.”
He stands up as well, hurt marking his perfect face. “I do not jest you, y/n. I could not. I wish for your hand.”
“My hand?” You ask, voice rising an octave. You look around wildly, the muted colors from the garden swirling in your mind. Shaking your head, you exhale. “All of the women at court, and you wish me to believe that you wish to take my hand?”
“Yes.”
You laughed again, this time a humorless sound. “You have not even looked my way in such a manner since we first came to know each other.”
Anthony’s nostrils flared. This was not going at all how he had planned it to go, and he was offended that you thought he was telling you a lie. “This is not true. You shine brighter than the sun. It is not my fault you have never noticed my gaze following your every move.”
You flushed, looking down at your feet briefly. He had been watching you, and you had never even noticed.
“I find it hard to believe that a lady as beautiful and intelligent as yourself has trouble believing that I could love you.” Anthony says softly. He knew of his reputation. He knew he had gone around with many girls. But he also knew that none of them ever filled the shape of his arms like he knew you were meant to.
“Anthony. You are a rake.” You say bluntly, starting to become frustrated. “You certainly cannot blame me for not falling at your feet and thanking you for your affections, when we both know quite well that I may not hold your interest in a fortnight.” You paused. “Perhaps less than that.”
Anthony’s eyes widen slightly at this outburst and he looks at you, then looks down and away, focusing on a barely budding rosebush across the fountain. When he turns to look at you, his gaze has softened, and you have never seen such a vulnerable look on his face.
“I would go through the very circles of hell to change your opinion of me.”
Your breath left your body. You studied his face, realizing that he was not jesting you. He meant every word he said. Anthony stepped closer to you, towering above you. Looking down into your eyes, he lifts a hand to cradle your cheek. Without even thinking, you lean in to his touch, as if you had been craving it. He leans in, hovering just above your lips.
“Forgive me for taking years to bring you to the garden at this hour.” He whispers.
You felt intoxicated by his proximity. You looked him in the eyes, your own eyes roaming his face. “I am quite sure if you place your lips on mine…”You pause. “That my opinion of you may change greatly."
Anthony smirks, an expression you knew all too well. He closes the gap between you, kissing you softly, deepening it lightly when he wraps an arm around your back. When he finally pulls away, he is smiling broadly.
“What is it, Anthony?” you whisper.
Anthony leans down again, pressing his forehead to yours. “I cannot wait for you to take the name Bridgerton, is all.”
“Oh, so you assume I say yes to your proposal then?” You ask, a joking tone covering your voice, as you gaze into his eyes. You both knew yes was the only answer.
Anthony laughs, shaking his head slightly as he captures your lips in another sweet kiss, the moonlight caressing the two of you as you relish each other’s presence.

Good afternoon! I’m making rounds begging for fluff and kind of cherry picking the prompts with a bit of a giggle.
So if you would try this prompt - "sorry, that was my first kiss." "i could tell." "...." "i'm kidding!"
First I wanted to ask for someone like Tup or Echo. But I think I really kind of need Kix. Yup this prompt with it being Kix’s first.
Have a beautiful afternoon!
Thank you so much for the ask @sunshinesdaydream! I've never written for Kix before, so hopefully this is good.
Kix x Jedi Reader - First Kiss Prompt

SFW, I don't think there are any warnings needed
This drabble starts with Fives being a meddling sibling, there's some hurt/comfort involved, and lots of playful sarcasm and sass.
“You know, Fives, for an ARC Trooper, you’re getting pretty clumsy.” You regard him with a smirk.
Fives rushes towards you, racing down the station corridor at breakneck speed. You narrowly avoid a collision by directing a gentle force push to redirect his trajectory just to the left. He still stumbles a moment before recovering and skipping up to catch up to you.
He mimes offense, placing one hand dramatically over his chest, “Don’t be like that vod’ika! You know I can’t see straight when surrounded by so many pretty people.”
You respond with a flat tone, “You should get that checked out…”
To your surprise, his face lights up at the suggestion, and you feel his hands on your shoulders, attempting to turn you towards the Medbay, “You’re right! I think I need to see Kix!” his eyes focus intently on your face for a moment before his smile widens even more, victory-“You blushed!”
You halt abruptly, hands flying to your cheeks, “--I didn’t!”
“You did! Tup owes me 15 credits!” He laughs victorious and pumps a hand in the air.
You take a half-hearted swing at the back of his head, but Fives swiftly ducks, dodging your hand effortlessly. He laughs, nudging you with his elbow, "Don't be sore, I'm just trying to help out my vode."
"Trying to meddle is more like it…" you raise a suspicious eyebrow at him.
He shrugs, another shit-eating grin plastered on his face, "You say meiloorun, I say meilOHrun–"
You roll your eyes, "Literally nobody says that."
He ignores your sardonic reply, once again placing his hands on your shoulders and turning you slightly towards the Medbay. "Look, will you just go check on him? Kix has been on a rampage today and he's always softer with you."
You find Kix in his small office just off the station Medbay. The lights were low, just the dull navigation lights around the base of the room still illuminated softly. Kix's shadowy form was hunched at his desk, head held in his hands, and he didn’t react to your entrance.
His pleading eyes were so pathetic your resolve was gone in an instant.  You sigh, mostly to hold up the facade that you weren't excited and enticed by the idea, "Fine. I'll check on him."
_
"Kix?" You called softly, careful to keep your steps light as you approached.
He groaned, "I'll be there in a few minutes." His voice sounded pained and tired.
"No you won't. You're taking the night off."
He finally looks up, taking a concerning amount of time to formulate a response. "I'm fine. It's just a headache. I'll live."
"Kix, headache or no, they can go one evening without you. You need to rest."
"You have too much faith in them-Ah!" He nearly doubles over, hands flying to press just above his temples.
"Thank you for proving my point-" You take that as permission and swiftly approach to stand just before where he sat at the desk. "Here, let me help." You reach forward, placing both hands on either side of his head. You begin massaging in soothing circular motions with your fingers, reaching out with the force to concentrate a cooling sensation at your fingertips.
Kix releases a contented sigh and you feel his hands reach up and pull you closer between his legs, gripping the back of your top in tight fists. His forehead rests on your chest and you hear a mumbled, "...meshla."
Your face and body is flushed and hot, but you keep massaging until you feel his body fully relax and his hands release their fists to hold you softly. Maybe it's the darkened privacy of the room, or the physical closeness, or the way Kix seemed to soften and melt in your arms but you were emboldened.
You pulled back, putting a breath of space between you, and Kix angled his face to regard yours. You leaned forward, your lips crashing into his and capturing his pleasant gasp with your tongue. It's a little awkward, and you try to adjust your angle to avoid crushing your nose against his. You feel a chuckle rumble in his chest, and his hands press into your back. He pulls you more fully against him, adjusting his angle to kiss you back more insistently, hungrily.
You break away, your cheeks flushed, and clear your throat, "Sorry, that was my first kiss."
"I could tell." Kix deadpans.
Your eyes widen and the sour feeling of embarrassment pooling in your belly.
He holds your gaze for a beat before laughing, "I'm kidding!" Then captures your lips once more in a deep, knee weakening kiss.
"You know… Maybe I could use some more practice." You whisper. Kix doesn't need a second invitation, and Fives’s collection of credit chits mysteriously increases.

The warmth of the air hit her as she opened the door. Just waking up, her eyes were sensitive to the sun, squinting as she closed her door and starting after Links house. She was running late. Link agreed to give her crossbow lessons, the night before she totally forgot and stayed up later than she should. As she was approaching his house, she immediately got butterflies. Y/n and link have only been dating for two weeks. They’re still in the process of getting the hang of things. “Link!” She called out before approaching his door, but no reply. She opted to wait a few minutes, not wanting to intrude. maybe he was getting ready still. As more and more minutes start to pass she gets worried. She checks to see if the door is unlocked and it is. She felt guilty barging in but her anticipation was getting to her. “Link? Are you home?” She calls out again, still no reply. She takes a look around while putting her bag down by the door. No sign of him doing anything this morning, this was unusual. That was until she went to his bedroom and found him sound asleep. She takes a sigh of relief before slowly walking over to him. “Link.” She whispers before sitting down on his bed next to him. Her hand gently shakes his shoulder. “Hmm?” He groans, turning over and seeing y/n. His eyes immediately widen. “W-what time is it..?” He asks. Y/n giggles, it’s 9am. You were going to teach me crossbow today, remember?” Link sighs and puts his hand over his eyes. “I did not remember. I’m sorry. I’m really tired.” He yawns. Y/n shrugs, “I am too. Maybe we can just .. do it later then?” As she goes to stand up link grabs her wrist. “Stay.” He whispers. She smiles softly at him before kicking her shoes off to lay down next to him. “Let’s cuddle for a bit and we’ll get around to doing that later..” he sleepily smiles at her. She nods as they lock eyes for a moment. She immediately looks away out of nervousness. His hand comes up to her cheek and moves her head towards him again. “You okay?” He asks. “Yes, I’m okay. Are you?” She blushes and snuggles into his warm hand. He nods. Minutes pass as they keep getting closer and closer to each other before they’re finally touching noses. Link leans in and pecks her lips, making her whole face go red. He smiles before she attacks him with another kiss. They hold each other so tight, giggling and blushing like teenagers. After all, they did just share their first kisses.

Stranger Things Master List // The Adults Master List // Series Master List // First Kiss Master List
Tumblr media
The number of people that always came to Eddie’s show, always had me struck. When we would show up the crowds would be yelling and screaming for him and his band to show through the curtains. What was truly funny to me was that I never showed up with Eddie, yeah we showed up at the same time. But Eddie wanted to keep his persona up, so Eddie would kiss me on the cheek before we would leave our apartment. I didn’t have a problem with that at all.
I liked that about Eddie, we weren’t keeping our relationship a secret because Eddie didn’t want anybody to know about us. Instead, he wanted to keep me all to himself. “I know how hard the media can get to ya, so if you don’t want people to know I understand.” Eddie had said on our second date now that it was nearly two years ago when he first started out.
Now that we were two years into his career, I liked the way that I was able to watch him from the background of a relatively well-established bar, or concert hall. I could get a full view of my boyfriend, even though Eddie tried his hardest to keep his long hair out of his face, and his eyes never seemed to work. Especially when Eddie was on stage, the sweat would drip down his face and leave his hair dripping.
All while his face beat red from screaming and singing at full blast for as long as two hours at a time. Tonight’s show would be no different, when we got there I gave him a simple wink as I watched him walk into the back of the concert hall. I made my way toward the back of the concert hall which was more set up like a bar. A large booth was all for me as I waited for the show to start.
Ordering a drink from the waiter that cames over, and when the lights go down I get ready. It’s funny to me that even thought Eddie and his friends are out of highschool they still run together and I bet most of that is because of their connections with this band. The curtains pull back and the crowd roars with happiness, screams can be heard. I just watch as Eddie comes out grabbing onto his guitar and the mic.
While his best friends set up behind him. Gareth, and Jeff are setting up with their respected instruments. The crowd gre louder, and before Eddie was able to get a songor a word out the crowd was shouting for them to get started.
Through the mic, everyone was able to Eddie's voice. Loud and energetic. “Alright, guys calm down. We’ll get started soon enough.” Eddie said, but that did nothing to calm them. So, I continued to watch from afar. Watch as Eddie handled himself and his band onstage, the music grew and that’s when I knew they were ready. Eddie came close to the mic and started to sing as he strummed away on the guitar.
For two hours straight I watched as my boyfriend sang and danced around the stage with his guitar hugged close to his chest while his fingers worked a magic I’d never seen before. As he strummed away on his guitar the crowd danced and sang along with him. He was a glimmering spark of something that I feared no longer existed. I watched like I did every other weekend how the sweat would pour down Eddie’s face, making him shine under the high-beamed lights.
The concert hall was dark all over, but the stage was. Eddie rocked out until the whole crowd was able to hear him grappling to catch his breath through the mic. At the end of each show, he would have the music cut so he would be able to talk with the crowd. “You guys fuckin’ rock! You know that right?” He asked the group tonight.
They screamed back, I watched as the mixture of teenagers who idolized him, the women that no doubt wished they were with him later on, and the men that stood in amazement that they had just watched a two hours show for less than fifty bucks.
I couldn’t help but crack a small smile as I finished my last drink. I waited till Eddie done talking with the crowd. “Guys, we thank you for coming and singing along. We will see you soon.” Then he looked outwards into the further crowd. Winking, at me I presumed, but the crowd gushed over the interaction that was directed towards anyone who would take it.
When the house lights came back up and the crowd of drunks, women, men, and teens fanned out I got up from my booth in the back of the hall. I didn’t wait long already missing seeing Eddie and hearing his voice. Two hours was always able to drag me into wanting him even more.
-
I bobbed and weaved through the large groups of people until I got outside. Eddie and I had a unspoken agreement that I would always come back stage to greet him after one of his shows. It should also take me no longer then a few minutes to get my way through a heavy dense crowd before I was knocking at the backstage door. The sunset that was shining through had been taken hostage by the nights sky. The sky was scattered with stars, in every single shape. I looked up towards the sky for only a moment.
I was distreaced by the sky when  ifelt a rather rough and sticky hand grabb at my wrist. “What’s a girl like you doing here, huh beautiful?” A drunk man asked me. I was shocked, never… not once had a random guy grabbed at me at this concert hall. I cleared my throat, and tired my hardest to wrangle myself out of his sharp and rather disgusting touch. Regardless of how hard I struggled to get out of his hold he would let go. “Please just let me go!” I struggled with his hold and thought… stupid to think that he would let me go.
I wasn’t drunk… well drunk enough to forget about my Eddie, so I struggled further. As other people passed us and didn’t even’t take notice to the uncomfortable way that the man was pushing me further and further into the brick wall. My clothes weren’t even that revealing or should even garner me the attention that this man was willing giving me. “Tell me sweetie, do you think I wouldn’t notice you?” he asked his alcohol drenched breathe fanning into my face.
Again I thought about what I was wearing. It’s true I wasn’t wearing another dark or nearly anything that you’d find someone else wearing here. There was no lace or black mesh. Rather it was the complete opposite of the color spectrum. I had worn a light pink, nearly baby-pink-colored skirt with skin-colored tights underneath and a tight-fitting white shirt that matched my outfit well. A pair of high boots that were also white. “Please just… I need to get going!” I said loudly. Trying to get someone's attention. “Oh of course you’ve got somewhere to get going. Some lame young guy to go fuck!” The man screamed in my face, and I flinched back in a mixture of disgust and fear. “Yeah just here to get your rocks off watching as you teased all these men here.” He said spitting his breath all over my face. His grip on my wrist was getting tighter, and I wouldn’t doubt that a large bruise would be there in the morning.
“Come on sweet little thing. Give me a kiss, that’s the least I deserve.” The drunk man said as he inched closer to me. I closed my eyes, whispering “Please just let me go,”  as I leaned so far into the brick wall that I could feel the imprint of the brick. “Excuse?” I heard, my eyes shot open and I struggled harder than before to get out of the grip of the strange man.
I looked over, and Eddie was standing there. A feral almost demanding look stuck on his face. “She asked you to Let. Her. Go,” Eddie said, he wasn’t yelling, but there was a force behind his words. Punctuation that I had never heard before. The strange man scoffed and rolled his eyes before letting go of my wrist and walking away. I watched and shook with disgust before running into Eddie’s arm.
-
“Shit, babe.” Eddie said smoothing out my hair and kissing my forehead softly. It would have sucked it that drunk strange man had been my first kiss. I shook my head trying to get the whole situation to not be imprinted on my back of my eye lids. “Are you okay, Y/n?” Eddie asked as he pulled me a little out of his hug. I shrugged my shoulders. “I am now.” I answered and leaned back into his chest. Sweaty or not Eddie smelt like heavens and safety. “ I just knew that something was wrong when I didn’t hear your knock.” Eddie said, “How about we get backstage.” Eddie followed up with. I hummed and shook my head in his chest. We walked together my hand slipping into his.
The walk wasn’t far, and we walked in comfortable silence before he popped open the door. Letting me walk in first, he was right behind me. Shutting the door with a loud slam. “Here you go, babe.” He said softly. Handing me an unopened water bottle. I took a bottle swig and let the excellent refreshing water coat my throat and stomach. I wasn’t ready for Eddie to pick me up swiftly in his arms and spin us around a few times.
My legs swung around and Eddie’s grip was firm under my arms. I could smell Eddie all around me as he spun us around me. A mixture of a little bit of beer, a little bit of metal, cool and fresh cigarettes, and of course weed. It wafts into my head and makes me dizzy, nearly sending a shiver up and down my spine.
There was just something about the way that Eddie looked at me as we spun around. There was a bright light behind his hazel eyes. Like I was the only person that he saw, “How’d you like the show tonight babe? Besides that dick head, are you sure? That you’re okay?” Eddie asked, setting me down and letting me answer the three or so questions he had asked in just a few seconds.
-
I patted down my skirt and brushed the few hairs that had fallen out of place, back into place. “I loved the show like I love the show every time Eds,” I said before continuing. “Yes, baby I’m sure. I’m glad you were there to rescue me.” I said fawning over my boyfriend. The tips of his ear were covered in pink tinges. “Like your knight in shining armor?” Eddie asked me.
I giggled at the thought of Eddie. The rock and metal fanatic is my knight in shining armor. “Oh, please say that I can be your knight?” Eddie asked. His hands came into mine as he jumped in front of me like a child asking for their toy back. Happiness was written all over his face, and I smiled. I hadn’t said a word. “Oh you know you wanna say it, baby,” Eddie said coaxing me into saying what we both already knew.
“Eds you can be my knight in shining armor.” I said softly while trying not to smirk. “Fuck Yay! Can your knight ask for someting in return for saving you?” Eddie asked. “Anything you want dearie.” I answered back. The shock and excitement that crossed past Eds face was funny to watch. “Anything, Y/n?” Eddie asked, stretching out the word. Like it was foreign on his tongue. Like nobody had ever said yeah sure you can do or have anything that your dearest heart yearns for. I shook my head, or hands still connected.
Eddie thought for a long moment. His eyes scanning over my face as I wondered and worried about what he was gonna ask for. I know that Eddie would never ask me to do anything dangerous or that I was uncomfortable with. Eddie sighed heavily and closed his eyes before opening them back up and looking deeply into my eyes. “Y/n, baby.” I hummed. “Can I ask for a kiss?” He asked, eyes wide just waiting. Waiting for me to reject him, or for me to let him lean down and cup my chin. Making me reach his lips with just has much yearning.
I licked and bit my lip. Sighing softly. I shook my head, but nothing happened. I looked up at him, the most beautiful smile written on his face. His cheeks shined with deep red blush, and I saw a full smile. “Can you say it though?” He asked me. I smiled softly up at him. “Yes, Eddie, you can kiss me,” I said. Still, I looked up at him. He reached down grabbing my chin softly and making me look up just a little more. He stared deeply into my eyes before he leaned down and caught my lips with mine. Plush and so soft, something that I had never dreamt of. I always thought that his lips would be rough to the touch of mine, but instead, he takes his time. Pressing his lips into mine and I barely feel his tongue swipe past my lips. He’s so gentle and I can’t help but fall into his touch. His other hand came to catch my waist as I fall further into the kiss.
When the kiss broke. I was smiling like a schoolgirl, and let’s be honest so was Eddie. “Thank you, my princess,” Eddie said bowing at the waist. He always kept up with the bit even if it was long over, but as much as I thought I’d never do that, I grabbed my skirt and crusty. “My knight in shining armor. Mr.Munson thank you for saving me.” I said winking at him.
Even though I was shorter than Eddie by only a few inches I reached up and grabbed Eddie by the back of his neck pulling him down with both of my arms. “Can I have another kiss, Mr. Munson?” I asked in a whisper. Smirking he shook his head this time. This time I reached forward hooking my lips onto his. It was his turn to fall into my touch, even if his hands were cupping my back supporting me as much as I was keeping him.
It felt like we were breathing for each other, and as he continued to kiss me I melted. Further in love with Eddie than I had been for the past two years. “Oh come on guys!” I heard someone say off in the distance. I felt Eddie smirk against my lips before pulling away. I looked over at the same time as Eddie.
There was Jeff standing there with a look of fake disgust and anger. “What’s wrong Jeff? I’m just kissing my girlfriend. Which.” Eddie said pointing a finger up. “I’m allowed to do it now!” Eddie said proudly. I cracked a smile, that only grew as we watched Jeff roll his eyes and walk away.
Eddie winked at me, before reaching for me and walking us toward the stage. “It would probably be best to help clean up right?” Eddie asked sarcastically.

If you saw my almost kiss/confession fic for Ace Attorney, here's the follow-up actual confession/first kiss fic!
This fic is around 2000 words, and is technically set Post-Farewell, My Turnabout, which is in the second Ace Attorney Game, Justice for all. I say technically because I am currently in the middle of playing Farewell, My Turnabout, but I didn't want canon to ruin my fic idea. There's not a whole ton of spoilers, but there are slight references to in-game events. Anyway! Without further ado, the summary:
Phoenix is spending Christmas Eve alone when he gets a call from a concerned Gumshoe about Miles Edgeworth. It seems he's headed off to revisit Gourd Lake, and Gumshoe asks Phoenix to go check on him so nothing bad happens to him. Despite the hurt he's felt since Miles disappearance last year, Phoenix agrees, and finds that the key to mending the hurt in his heart was to spend Christmas Eve with Miles Edgeworth. This fic makes a small reference to my previous fic, And After All That... if you want to check that one out first!
Thanks for tolerating me being soooo normal about these gay little lawyers! More definitely normal content to come, as my fic list is ever growing.

What if we kissed in the library? The dust of centuries in our lungs. A poem on your lips, breathed into my mouth like a prayer.

Hello, dears! Here's part 2 to the Vampire Helena AU I'm writing for @loveinthekeyofx! It's a Love and Legends/Havenfall is for Lovers crossover! I do hope some of you will enjoy it ❤️ it is quite lengthy (just under 7k words), so part of it will be under a cut! - Mod Runa
TW: Discussions of insecurities, References to trauma, Body image issues.
You chuckled as yet another tiny spark of fire flew by your head and turned into smoke right before hitting the mirror, making Morgan sigh in frustration as her hand flinched. Smudging an otherwise perfect line of eyeliner.
"Jordan, I swear to everyone that isn't your Father. If you do that ONE more time!"
JD let out the most dramatic groan you had ever heard in your life and slinked a little further off their bed.
"But I'm so booooored. And you won't let me help with anything!"
You could see the reflection of their upside pout in the vanity, which only made you laugh harder. Morgan pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.
"If you recall.. I gave you one very important job to do, JD.. the outfit. You're the one who decided to come up in here with a black leather bodysuit!"
JD smirked. "I stand by my decision. That bodysuit was fucking hot."
Morgan shook her head, turning her focus back to doing your make-up.
"Do you see what I have to put up with, Frances?"
"Pfft! You love me." JD replied with a wide, charismatic grin.
"They've got you there, Morgan." You chuckled.
"Ohh no.. don't you dare feed into them!"
You laughed before giving JD a tiny wink in the mirror. The last few months in Havenfall had probably been your most interesting thus far. Even without Helena coming into your life, finding out that not only were "monsters" real, but that you'd been living amongst them since you'd moved to the small town was almost too much to process at first. You could still remember the look of utter horror on Morgan's face when a slightly buzzed JD let their true identity slip.. and then how it grew when they proceeded to out everyone else inside Havenfall's Finest. At first you were convinced it was all a joke. The idea that the local bowling alley was run by a djinn and the town Sheriff was actually a werewolf seemed all too preposterous to even imagine, but the moment JD released their wings and shot a fireball off over the lake you knew they'd been telling the truth.
"The Jersey Devil? As in the Jersey Devil??" You had exclaimed.
"The one and only." They'd replied with a smirk.
To be honest it felt like just yesterday that you'd found out, but also that a part of you'd already known. The sleepy Midwestern town had always seemed to hum with unseen magic.
And now, you knew why.
"Alright! All done."
Morgan sat back in her chair and smiled, placing the tube of mascara back onto JD's dresser.
"I still say you should have gone with the bodysuit."
"Hush, Jordan. She looks great."
You couldn't argue with her there, the woman had done a damn fine job on your make-up. The subtle gold eyeshadow and flipped cat's eye accentuated the green and black top she had picked out perfectly. And your breasts had never been propped up higher in your life. You looked… good.
"I'm not saying she doesn't! But who wouldn't want to see those curves wrapped in leather!"
"I wouldn't." You answered with a laugh.
"Pfft.. you're both crazy. I'm going downstairs to check out the buffet- .. I mean, see if Razi needs any help."
"Please, do not add any of your crazy concoctions to the mix, JD."
The devil turned, giving their partner a faux look of hurt and betrayal.
"But.. you said you liked my pickle and mustard pie!"
"Jordan, please. Remember what we talked about."
They sighed, rolling their eyes. "Fineeeeee."
You chuckled as they stomped their way down the stairs to the bowling alley - the sounds and smells of Havenfall's Finest getting everything together wafting through the now open door.
"I hope you weren't too hard on them, Morgan. It's just Helena and I."
Although, "just Helena and you" couldn't be further from the truth. There was nothing "just" about the gorgeous blonde that had waltzed into your life only a few months prior. And even though the two of you had had your fair share of … Visits? Hangouts? Whatevers? ... you were far more nervous than you would ever let on.
"Listen.. I love them dearly, you know that, but if JD had it their way, that table would be filled with the most abominable culinary creations either of you have ever seen. And I don't want Helena getting scared away by Jordan's horrendous taste in food before any of us have even had a chance of getting to know her."
You put your hands up in surrender, chuckling even harder. "Alright, alright."
"Still.. we should probably make our way downstairs before they get any ideas…"
You snorted. "Good thinking."
***
The sun had just started to set when Helena walked out of the front doors to her apartment building, washing the vast Indiana sky in warm hues of oranges, reds and pinks - a stark contrast to the crisp bite that came with the late Autumn evening air. A soft ping from the blonde's phone and the hushed sounds of a stealthy stride were all that were to be heard as she walked down the otherwise empty street. A subtle smile coming to Helena's lips when she finally stops to check the notification on her phone.
Frances: Of course it is! Any friend of yours is a friend of mine :)
She breathed in a sigh of relief. Even though she knew Frances would be understanding, she still felt a little bad for inviting Vanessa along. Unfortunately the vampire knew it was the best opportunity for the Huntress to be able to meet everybody. To be able to tell her if anyone within Havenfall's inner circle had had anything to do with the coven that turned her. For one thing, the Sorceress' keen senses gave her the gnawing feeling that pretty much everyone who had connection with that bowling alley was likely not human - that she was almost certain - but as for the specifics, those she was unclear on.
That's where Vanessa Helsing came in. Coming from a long line of vampire hunters, she had been tracking the same coven as Helena for months, eager to take them down - to wipe them out. She was the only person Helena knew who had seen almost every person of importance within Dagon's coven. So, needless to say the two had quite a bit they could gain from one another.
Helena had told the Huntress to meet her at the bowling alley, and there she stood. Cladded in black leather under a dim street light - her dark hair almost rivaling the night sky above.
"Good evening, Vanessa."
"Evening, Helena. You sure you want to do this?"
The blonde nodded.
"Your knowledge has been immeasurable in my progress, Helsing. Even if we find no accord within, your presence is still appreciated. Frances means a great deal to me. I need to make sure she's protected."
Vanessa smiled before nodding. "Alright, then. After you."
***
"Wait.. what do you mean she's bringing someone? Like, a friend?"
You placed your phone face down onto the counter and shrugged.
"Ah.. more like a colleague, I guess? I don't really know much about her, honestly."
Helena had only mentioned Vanessa once before to you, months ago when she named her as the client she'd met with that day at the bowling alley. (Though, according to Morgan, the two of them never even made it there that day.) But other than that, the specifics of their relationship were a complete mystery to you.
"Mhm.. well, I'm going to be keeping an eye on said colleague."
You were about to tell Morgan not to bother when the doors to the bowling alley abruptly opened, a rush of cold air as Helena and who you presumed was Vanessa walked in. You couldn't help your mouth from falling open a little at the sight. Helena, of course, looked breathtaking - radiant. With a deep cerulean low cut shirt covered in a red blazer. The colors a perfect contrast to her moonlit hair. The woman next her to her, though… I guess when you had thought of the word 'colleague', she wasn't quite what you had in mind. Morgan leaned in a bit, nudging you softly before whispering.
"Oh, I am definitely going to be keeping an eye on her."
You chuckled. "She's allowed to have friends, Morgan."
"Not friends who look like that and dress completely in black leather.. and, is that a bull whip connected to her belt??"
"Heh, my kinda friend." You heard JD mutter under their breath from behind you, which only led to Morgan scowling.
You cleared your throat. "Just.. be cool, guys."
You walked away from the pair before they could say anything else. And they weren't wrong. Vanessa was incredibly beautiful. With hair as inky as a night sky and a body that screamed nothing but self discipline and rigorous routine. But the way Helena's eyes lit up and how her smile widened at the sight of you definitely helped stifle some of the intrusive thoughts that were slowly trying to move in.
"My dear Frances, good evening. A pleasure as always." She exclaimed with a low bow. "This is Vanessa. I appreciate you allowing her to join us tonight."
You nodded. "Of course! Nice to meet you, Vanessa."
"Please, call me Van. And it's nice to meet you as well."
You turned just in time to see the rest of Havenfall's Finest coming up behind you. At least three of them with their mouths fully agape. You had to chuckle, fully aware of the effect Helena tended to have on people.
"Helena.. this is Razi, the owner and proprietor of this fine establishment. Mac, the town's Sheriff. Diego, Havenfall's finest doctor. And, last but not least, JD and Morgan, our resident chaos demon and their loyal girlfriend. Everyone, this is Helena."
Razi and Mac both gave the blonde a very exuberant "Hello!", shaking her hand. You even swore you saw tiniest hue of pink rising to the Sheriff's cheeks as Helena responded with "A pleasure." Diego on the other hand, seemed more anxious than anything, his gaze shifting back and forth between the two women. As for JD and Morgan, while both were as friendly as ever, Jordan wouldn't be Jordan if they didn't do their best to lay on the charm.
"So, this is the woman that's been stealing our friend away from us… not that I can blame her."
Helena, of course, chuckled gracefully. "Much apologies."
"Mhm.. I'm sure."
You gave JD a pleading look, hoping they'd take the hint and stop before they said anything else. Which thankfully they did, giving you a playful wink instead.
"And this is my.. colleague, Vanessa."
The group gave the mysterious woman a unified greeting, all except for Diego who only nodded and JD who whistled low.
"If that's a colleague, I really need to get myself into the security business."
Both Vanessa and Morgan glared in their direction, an act that quickly made the enby rub the back of their neck nervously.
"A-anyways, let's get this party started, shall we?!"
"Very smooth, Jordan." Morgan replied, rolling her eyes.
You had to hand it to them all, the bowling alley looked absolutely enchanting. And while you were well aware that Morgan and JD cared greatly for you, the lengths that the rest of Havenfall's Finest went to to make sure the evening went as smooth as possible was, needless to say, incredibly heartwarming.
The ceiling was strewn with more twinkle lights than you had ever seen and the long table in the center of the main room had just about every guilty pleasure food you could possibly think of. You made sure to make a mental note to thank Razi later for not letting JD have any say in the buffet. Though, you had to laugh when you came across a small, yet very suspicious pie at the bottom of the table with the distinct aroma of mustard coming from it. It was almost crazy to think how in just a few short months this hodgepodge group of cryptids had almost become like a second family to you. Even Mac was dressed in something other than her usual sheriff's uniform.
You were just about to walk over to where Helena and Vanessa were standing when Morgan pulled you aside. Her brow slightly furrowed.
"Hey, I didn't want to say anything in front of JD because they'd just go all detective mode on us, but I know I've seen Vanessa somewhere before. And Diego seemed on edge as soon as she walked in."
Your gaze lingered over to where the two women stood talking, obviously in the middle of a rather serious conversation.
"Hm.. wish I could say I knew more about her. Helena isn't very forthcoming about the ins and outs of her job."
"Yeah. Well, if I think of anything, I'll definitely let you know."
You nodded. "Yeah, sure. Thanks."
Morgan gave you a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder before wandering off to find JD. Even with the party finally starting to get under swing, your mind couldn't help but begin to drift off to more unsavory thoughts. Just how often did Vanessa frequent Havenfall if both Diego and Morgan seemed to recognize her? Did that mean Helena was meeting with her more often than she'd let on? Were they closer than just colleagues? I mean, you couldn't blame her for choosing someone who looked like Vanessa over someone who looked like.. well.. you..
She was hot.. fit.. beautiful in a way you could never be.
And you were, well.. you.
You subconsciously pulled at the blouse that just a few moments ago had filled you with such confidence, wondering if there was even a point. How could you compete with that? With.. her? How could you be expected to-
"Frances?"
You were jerked abruptly from your thoughts, Helena's pensive face in front of yours.
"Is something the matter? You looked a thousand miles away."
Immediately filled with embarrassment, you quickly shook your head.
"Oh! Yes, no.. I'm fine.. really, I'm fine!" You answered, chuckling nervously.
The blonde hummed low before linking her arm in yours.
"Well, then.. come and accompany us over by the stage, hm?"
The.. stage??
As you followed Helena past the lanes and towards the back of the arcade room, you found that the blonde was right - there was indeed a small platform back there. One that you were certain hadn’t been there before.
"What in the-"
"Ohhh, just wait! You guys are gonna love this!" JD exclaimed as they practically ran over to the two of you. More excited than you'd ever seen them.
"JD.. what.."
"Fuck! Is Razi ever gonna regret buying this." They laughed, holding up a small microphone.
Karaoke. Razi had actually purchased a karaoke machine. Gods, save us all.
The moment JD slipped on their sunglasses, stepped onto the stage and started dancing around it, Morgan's sigh was all too prevalent in your ear as she came to stand beside you - a low baseline coming through steadily from the speakers. You chuckled before turning to her.
"That bad, huh?"
She sighed again. "Jordan's actual singing voice is really quite nice, but of course they'd never be caught dead using it properly in public."
"Ah, gotcha."
You laughed and shook your head, trying to figure out where you had heard that guitar riff before and why it sounded so familiar. You were fairly certain the song choice was of the Metal genre - which would be on par for JD's taste in music - but the underlying melody reminded you of something else. Of something you'd heard a million times before but couldn't quite put your finger on-
Oh.. oh no
JD smirked as the intro diminished, the first lyric sung boastfully from their lungs.
"We're no strangers to looove…"
Morgan groaned immediately. "Jordan! For fucks sake, no!"
"You know the rules, and so do IIII…"
Helena turned to you, obviously a bit amused at the crowd's reaction.
"I am afraid I do not understand the reference. Why are so many people opposed to this song choice?"
JD sang even louder. You wouldn't get this from, any other enbyyyyy."
You did your best to speak loud enough for the blonde to hear you, giving her a quick background of the song and what it meant to be "Rick Rolled". Helena laughed and nodded before turning back to the entertainment, her foot tapping along with the melody.
"Never gonna give, gonna give.. give you up!"
Much to her dismay, you couldn't help but laugh and cheer every time JD pointed to Morgan during the chorus. An act that only made her groan even louder. And the moment the song ended, you could hear Razi yelling from the back of the room.
"I'm docking your pay for that, Jordan!"
The enby bowed dramatically, giving you a little wink before hopping off the stage.
"Mh.. seems that is my queue, little one." Helena whispered to you, giving you a smirk.
"Wha-?"
You stood, a blush already dusting your cheeks and your mouth agape. She was.. she was going to sing???
You took a deep, steadying breath. Completely unaware that the blonde could even carry a note let alone that you would be graced with whatever celestial sounds were about to part from that delicious mouth of hers. But there she was, basked in a kaleidoscope of colors from the lighting above and looking absolutely ethereal.
"Hold steady, Frances."
You swallowed hard, side-eyeing Morgan. "I'll do my best."
And while you had never heard of the song Helena had chosen before, you knew the moment the first note left her lips that you were done for. A hauntingly beautiful melody - smooth Alto notes sang in a soft (what you assumed was her native tongue) German. Your mouth was still open when JD came to stand next to you, nudging you softly in the ribcage.
"Hear something you like? Hm?"
They wiggled their eyebrows at you but all you could do was stare. Of course she sang like a fucking goddess. Of course she was fucking perfect.
Too perfect.
Too fucking perfect.
And here you were, with your mediocre self, expecting her to feel the same? Pssh.
"Psst.. you know what has to happen now, right?" Morgan whispered, her eyes glued to the stage and the incredible being that was on it.
"No."
"Yes! You'd blow her away and you know it."
"No. Not a chance."
"Yess, you have to."
"Are you even listening to her right now? It's-!"
"Don't you dare tell me it's pointless, Frances. Just because she has a gorgeous voice doesn't mean that yours isn't just as hot!"
For the first time since Helena had started singing you looked away from the stage, staring blankly at your friend. "... y-you think… I'm.. ah-"
"Yes, I think, and so does JD… and Razi.. and everyone else in Havenfall who's heard you sing to yourself. So.. you're going to get up there and you're gonna make that woman breathless!"
You sighed, admitting defeat. "Fine, but I choose the song!"
"Fine! Which?"
You smirked. "Rooms on Fire. Good luck finding it."
Morgan smirked even wider and you immediately swallowed. "Bold of you to assume JD hasn't already programmed Stevie Nicks' entire discography into that thing. They've had a thing for her since forever."
You swallowed again. "... Fuck."
***
Helena's body was all a buzz as she stepped down from the small podium. Electrically charged and tingling from the applause of her soon to be peers. She wasn't even sure what had made her get up and do it. And by the look on Frances' face, she was just as stunned. But there was something about being in the round woman's presence that always gave Helena a boost. That gave her the type of courage that made her feel like she could do just about anything. And in that moment, all she wanted to do was to show that warm, delightfully kind woman one of her gifts.
And hopefully - just hopefully - receive some of hers in return.
So you can imagine the look of surprise that sprung to the vampire's face and feeling of elation that rolled over her when Frances stepped up onto the stage. As the same warm light that had just washed over her casted the woman in a brilliant hue, making her look even more beautiful to the Sorceress than she already did.
A brief lapse of time, a single breath of silence before the song started. And it was that moment, when the first flawless note fell from Frances' lips, that Helena knew. Knew why she'd initially been drawn to her and what had kept her so enthralled since.
After all this time, searching between the two realms in which she had inhabited, she had finally found her. A soul as pure and kind as the woman who had saved her from the darkness many years ago. The woman who bore the same face as the one who had stripped her of everything and gave her a life renewed. She had never once, in all her years since leaving the realm she then called home, came across another person who had shone as bright as that woman did.
But here, in that solitary moment of clarity, as the melodic notes rang out from Frances' body and danced across Helena like a lullaby from some other place - like a spell from some archaic time that sang out into the heavens and carved itself into sky - that's when she knew. That's when it all became clear, that Frances was also a keeper of that light - of that bright soul that soothed over the vampire like a celestial balm.
Helena also knew that from that point she'd no longer be able to ignore her feelings for the woman. That her tendencies to mute her emotions and stifle those desires within that seemed to burn with the heat of a thousand suns would no longer be possible.
And as she watched the music take hold of this incredible creature, with all of Frances' curves swaying to the melody - eyes closed and cheeks a gorgeous hue of rose - she made a silent vow to both herself and the woman in front of her. A promise that she would no longer take the coward's way out when it came to her heart and what it deserved. That she would channel that courage she always felt when Frances was around and finally tell her..
Finally tell her that she was, undoubtedly and without measure, falling for her.
***
You opened your eyes as soon as the last note faded off, the crowd before you standing stunned - in awe - almost in disbelief at what they'd just witnessed. And while you were more than used to people's reaction to your voice, you still smiled proudly to yourself. A subtle blush dusting your cheeks as a resounding applause rang out from some of your favorite people.
"Holy shit, Frances. That was incredible!" JD beamed. "You did our girl Stevie some serious justice."
You chuckled. "Thanks, Jordan."
"They ain't lying, friend, that was the best I've ever heard you sing." Added Morgan as she handed you a tiny piece of cloth for your forehead, which you gratefully took.
"Thank you, one might say I was a little inspired."
"Well, inspiration suits you well, then, little one."
Helena's praise caught you off guard, immediately making you turn and face her.
"I- .. uh.. th-thank you? I mean.. ahem.. yeah.. ah, thanks, Helena." You stammered, rubbing the back of your neck.
Helena only nodded but you could tell the blonde had wanted to say more. A fact that must not have been lost on Morgan either as she quickly cleared her throat and hooked her arm into JD's.
"Well, we'll leave you two to talk."
"We will?? But I was just about to ask Frances if she wanted to-"
JD's words stopped mid-sentence the moment their eyes caught Morgan's.
"Oh.. right.. I mean.. we'll leave you two to .. talk."
The enby's subtle tone and small wink was more than enough to fluster you before they sauntered off, your cheeks heating up ever so slightly.
"That Jordan is a rather peculiar person. They remind me of someone I knew back home."
For some reason the thought of Helena being friends with their own version of JD made you feel incredibly warm inside, almost as if an invisible thread had always connected the two of you.
"Really?" You laughed.
"Mh, indeed. His name was Iseul. Your friend Jordan has a very similar spark of mischief to them." She answered, the deep blues of her eyes seeming to wander off in thought for a moment before she continued. "You remind me of someone I once knew as well, Frances."
Now that.. that..
You took a deep, steadying breath as a wash of warmth spread over you like a freshly drawn bath, re-igniting the desire in you that you had, admittedly, done your best to ignore over the past couple of months.
You felt your cheeks heat up a little more before you spoke. "O-oh? Really?"
The blonde hummed, looking almost sad. "She was, until now, the kindest woman I had even known."
You swallowed hard, not even sure how to respond to that information. In all honesty, there was nothing more you wanted to do than grab onto her, hold her close, and scream out into the heavens how much she meant to you. But you also knew that, of all places, the local bowling alley was not the place to make such affections known.
Nor was it the right time…
Probably.
As you collected your thoughts, you took a moment to scan your surroundings. Razi and Mac had seemingly found themselves in a rather heated game of bowling as Diego watched, sipping silently from the tiny flask that he normally kept on him. As for the arcade area, you couldn’t help but chuckle when your gaze landed on JD and Vanessa going head to head in a very excited round of DDR, the sound of Morgan cheering them heard throughout the entire bowling alley.
You swallowed again before smiling and tentatively took the blonde's hand in yours.
"What do you say we take a walk after all of this? There's a place I'd really like to show you, if that's alright with you?"
Helena smiled in turn, her eyes brightening to almost match the color of her shirt. "I would like that very much, little one."
***
The crisp autumn air met Helena like an old friend as she stepped out onto the curb - the wind softly blowing just cold enough to bite at her cheeks, reddening them. With a large moon above them, the Huntress walked silently beside the Vampire, biding her time until they got to her van.
"I want to thank you again for coming, Vanessa." Helena spoke, breaking the silence.
"No worries at all. I had fun actually."
The blonde chuckled. "As did I."
Vanessa shifted nervously from one foot to the other, smiling in a way that made Helena more anxious than she would've liked. The idea of Frances not being safe when she wasn't around.. well, that was a thought that only made the Sorceress' heart sink.
"Out with it." She said plainly.
Vanessa sighed.
"Well, the good news is that I can confidentially tell you that nobody in Frances' immediate circle is part of Dagon's coven."
Helena nodded. "That is good, at least."
"That being said, I can also tell you that most of the people within that circle.. aren't human. And that at least one of them is a vampire."
Helena's gaze shifted quickly. "Which?"
"Diego."
The blonde hummed in thought.
"What about JD and Morgan?"
"Morgan is human as far as I can tell. JD is.. well, I'm not exactly sure what JD is, but it's an energy I've never encountered before. So, whatever they are, it's something rare."
Helena chuckled to herself, recalling the time when Frances had called JD 'one of a kind'.
"That does not surprise me. In your opinion, though, would you say that Frances is safe?"
Helena asked the question simply, for that was the most important thing. Everything else was secondary. Everything else could be discussed at a later time. On a night when the air wasn't so clear and she didn't have that incredible woman waiting for her.
The Huntress nodded, a curtain of dark hair falling into her face.
"I do. At this point anyways. I still have some digging to do, but I'll contact you if I find anything that makes me feel otherwise."
"You have my gratitude, Helsing. Thank you."
"Anytime. You just leave all the boring stuff to me and enjoy the rest of your night." Vanessa replied with a wink before climbing into her van.
The blonde smirked. "Oh, that I intend to."
***
To be perfectly honest, you'd been planning on taking Helena to the lake ever since the plans for that evening were first made. And when Jordan had found out, the spark of mischief and excitement in their eyes was so bright it almost lit up the whole room. Even before you had left the bowling alley they pulled you aside.
"You're still taking her to the lake, yeah?"
A cheeky wink and subtle smirk was all you got in reply when you answered 'yes', which only made you slightly nervous. You knew deep down that if JD had some sort of surprise in the works, it would only be in your favor. They knew how much Helena had meant to you. And honestly, other than Morgan, they'd been the most supportive through it all.
The sky was littered with thousands of twinkling stars as you pulled up to the lake, all paying homage to the bright moon that hung among them. That casted a brilliant reflection into the still water and made you all the more confident in your decision to bring her there. It was beautiful, just like Helena. Almost so that it almost seemed too luminous to be real…
… Just like Helena.
"I see why you like this place, little one." The blonde said, closing her door.
"Oh?"
"Mh, on a night like tonight, it almost looks like a painting."
You smiled, wanting to say more than a quiet "That, it does." As if any sight could compete with how the moonlight danced upon Helena's rosen cheeks and frolicked throughout her hair. How her eyes sparkled and gleamed, making the stars above only pale in comparison. She was a literal work of art, a masterpiece within herself. A goddess walking on earth. She was-
"Frances?"
Her soft tone caught you off guard, and when her gaze met yours you'd almost forgotten how to speak entirely. She looked at you in a way no other person had, as if you were a lifeline and she were a rope. Tethered and frayed and yet oh so beautiful.
"Ah, sorry.. was I staring?"
"Mh.. a little." She chuckled.
"S-sorry."
When you rubbed the back of your neck subconsciously she took your other hand.
"Do not be."
Her voice was soft but the look in her eyes was even softer. A subtle heat coming to your cheeks as she took your other hand in hers, leaning in ever so slightly.
Did she want to-
Was she going to-
Helena took another step closer and you almost immediately fell back, moving away with such abruptness that you nearly toppled over the hood of your car. But, of course, Helena caught you.
"Fuck. Sorry. I.. ah.. shit."
"It is I who should be sorry, little one. I should not have assumed."
For the first time since you'd met her, the blonde looked embarrassed. Which honestly only made you feel worse. You shook your head vehemently.
"No, no. Please. Fuck. You did nothing wrong, Helena. It's just.. ah.. there's some things about me we should probably talk about before this goes any further."
With that Helena took a step back, looking at you thoughtfully and nodded.
"By all means. I am, as they say, all ears."
Before a single word had even fallen from your lips you could feel the subtle sting of tears - pooling at the corners of your eyes and betraying your emotions. You hated this part. You always had. When the love interest finds out your secret and opts for just being friends instead. Though, admittedly, you had genuinely hoped for just a little more time before having to say goodbye to Helena.
"Frances." She said softly, your hands still in hers. "There is, without doubt, not a single thing you could tell me about yourself that I would not be able to accept."
There was a shadow of something darker that lurked within the blonde's gaze that instantly made you believe her. Her eyes a stormier blue than you'd seen before - heavier, sullen - as if they held an untold story of long ago. You took a deep, calming breath - for you knew that, despite your fears, there was nothing in the world you wanted more than to trust her.
"Alright, well.. you see, I'm.. demisexual."
You could tell by the look on her face that it was a phrase Helena hadn't heard before, her eyes giving you a once over.
"I apologize, Frances. I have not.. is this something similar to a demigod?"
At this you couldn't help but laugh, an act that was honestly much needed and actually made you feel a lot more relaxed.
You snorted. "I wish. I'm afraid the only "super power" it gives me is being somewhat sexually stunted."
Helena moved to stand next to you, leaning back against the front of your car - her gaze looking out thoughtfully onto the water.
"Would it help you to know, little one, that, in my own way, that is something I quite understand."
You turned to face her, fingers still locked in hers and resting on the hood of the car. She looked so open, so attentive to whatever it was that you had to tell her. Her eyes shimmering in a way that almost seemed magical. You took another deep breath and pushed back the tears that still were begging to be released.
"Alright.. here goes nothing.." You let out a heavy sigh and felt Helena squeeze your hand a little tighter. "Being demi.. basically means that without a strong emotional bond with a person, my sexual desire for them will be… lack thereof."
The blonde stood quietly, only listening, so you continued.
"While being demi is a spectrum, and some people may only need a strong friendship connection to feel that, for me… well.. it's usually always taken a very strong.. and albeit long.. romantic connection for me to feel, well, aroused with someone."
Helena nodded. "I understand."
"That being said.. you, Helena.. you've made me feel things that I very rarely ever feel, almost immediately.. and to say that I haven't thought of or wouldn't like to sleep with you already is well.. ah.." You felt your cheeks immediately redden and chuckled, shaking your head. "Here I am just assuming that's something you'd actually want from me."
Helena looked at you silently for a moment before speaking."... You assume correctly, Frances. I find myself very attracted to you."
And now you were blushing even harder.
"O-oh."
Helena chuckled. "You are an incredible woman, Frances."
"I.. well.." You took yet another deep breath, trying to collect your thoughts within the chaos of your mind. As if saying what you had to say wasn't hard enough already. "But see.. that's the thing, Helena.. like, you're so beautiful and kind and intriguing and sexy and to say I haven't thought of us together more than a few times in the last few months is well.. it's different for me and I... ahh-"
The blonde inched herself a little closer to you and hummed. "Breathe, little one."
And you did, deeply. Closing your eyes as you let the crisp Fall air and subtle undertones of juniper that rolled off of Helena wash over you.
"Attraction aside…" You exhaled, ".. with how my sexual desire works.. I have no clue when that would actually happen for us."
Helena nodded again. "I understand."
"And so, this is probably where you leave. And I can't even blame you.. 'cause who wants to wait months or even years before becoming sexually intimate with someone? Other than me, that is, but I'm an outlier and shouldn't be counted."
"My dear Frances, you should always be counted."
"Well, that.."
You grinned all too widely and looked down at your hands that were still interlocked. The subtle pink that dusted your round cheeks swiftly deepening and painting them in a warm crimson.
"And as it was, little one, I have absolutely no intention of leaving you. When I say that I find myself very attracted to you.. it is not solely on a physical level. You see, my soul feels lighter when you are near. My thoughts warm when I think of you and my heart seems to ache when I have not had the pleasure of your company for awhile. I believe that I am, wholey and without doubt, falling for you, Frances."
You stared at her blankly for a moment, no words to be had.
"As for my own shortcomings.. sexual and emotional trauma finds me on a similar acumen as you. So, please, do not feel as if we are far apart on these understandings."
You immediately almost felt angry at the thought of anyone mistreating her. This goddess of a woman who deserved to feel nothing but love and compassion for her rest of her days.
"Fuck, I am.. I'm so sorry to hear that, Helena."
The blonde waved her hand dismissively and closed the last bit of distance between you.
"It is a lifetime ago and a story for another night."
You nodded. "Just know I'm always here to listen whenever you're ready to talk about it."
"I know, dear one." Helena smiled, so openly and warmly that you felt your heart lurch a little. The subtle lines in the corners of her eyes creasing as she leaned in closer to cup your cheek. "May I kiss you?"
You felt your cheeks warm beneath the cool touch of her fingers, soft tears forming in your eyes and a laugh upon your lips. "Yes, Helena. You may."
And as her lips touched yours, fireworks lit up the world around you. Not just metaphorically - but physically. Bright and untamed - fire in the sky - that reached out across the heavens above you.
JD's surprise.
It had to be.
You smiled even wider as your kiss deepened. As sparkling embers rained from the sky and your hands came to frame Helena's face. You kissed her softly - tenderly - wanting nothing more than for her to feel just how absolutely precious she was to you. And when the kiss finally broke, you were both crying. Happy tears of emotions long felt. With bright bursts of reds and blues, of oranges and yellows, reflecting across the still of the water as the two of you embraced.
"I'm so glad you came tonight, Helena."
"Mh.. as am I. It was a lovely evening."
"Heh, that it was."
"And who would have thought, that all this time I was in the presence of such a remarkable vocalist."
Helena smirked, making you blush.
"Psh, speak for yourself! That song you sang was beautiful."
The blonde hummed, smiling. "Thank you, little one. It is named 'Diese kalte Nacht'. It is by the band Faun. I am rather fond of them."
You chuckled to yourself. You knew if JD were there they would have made one of their legendary puns right about now.. "Oh, so you'd say you're... FAUNd of them?"
"Well, I can't say that I understood any of it, but you sang it beautifully."
"As did you, Frances. I do not know of this Stevie Nicks, but I have to wonder if her voice is anywhere near comparable to yours."
You looked at her for a moment, mouth agape.
"Oh, that's it. We are so having a Stevie Nicks night at my place!"
"Mh.. consider it a date."
***
You had just crawled into bed when your phone went off.
Morgan: Yoooo.. you awake?
You: Yep! Just got home, actually lol.
Morgan: Oh? How'd it go??
You: Really, really good. We uh.. we kissed.
Morgan: I knew it! We knew she liked you! Jordan is gonna be fucking ecstatic when I tell them.
You: lol You guys are the best.
Morgan: Well, you deserve it :]
You: Thanks lol
Morgan: Ah.. not to add some unwanted mystery to the evening... but I figured out why Vanessa looked so familiar. Had a little chat with Diego after you left.
You: Oh????
Morgan: Um.. yeah.. she's a fucking vampire hunter.
You: A.. WHAT?!

The night started out like all other nights. Busy.
“Six beers to table three, send two Star Vines to table eight, and please no one serve anymore alcohol to the pair of clones by the door attempting to solicit anyone who comes within a ten foot radius.” I, as usual, was in the middle of it all. “They need to sober up if they’re going to find their way back to the barracks.” I sighed, glancing at the clones in question as Lynn and Jayas nodded in agreement. Another normal night taking orders, making drinks, and mingling with the main clientele of my bar-clones.
Everything considered, I couldn’t complain. Busy was paid bills and a focused mind. No more petty theft just to survive-though Jayas didn’t let that last for too long. No more time lost to memories I buried and locked away deep in my psyche. No, no more problems when I was busy. I was grateful for it, even at the cost of sleep and a sore body. Yes, everything was normal when I was busy.
That was, until a fight broke out by the darts.
The first signs were the unbroken string of swears that rivaled even Jayas’ stubbed toe speech. Then a crowd formed in that semicircle shape that either meant an arm wrestling contest…or a fight. I didn’t think to actually go check until I heard the dull thunk that only armor hitting armor could make.
“Hey!” I yelled as I stomped through the bar floor, weaving through groups of clones unaware of what was going on. By the time I reached the dance floor enough patrons had gathered around the fight that I had to shove my way through them. “Break it up!” I yelled again as I emerged from the line of white armor made purple by the lights above. Jeering mixed with the pounding music from speakers above, drowning all attempts to talk the clones down. So, without a second thought I jumped into the mess of black and white armor.
One was on the ground by that point, on his hands and knees with what I suspected was blood dripping from his mouth. I faced white armor first, thinking the fight over. Instead, I felt a long forgotten spark of force–warning. Electricity spiked through my limbs. It spun me on my toes just in time to see the clone in dark armor come up with his fist aimed to uppercut the other clone. Or would have, if I wasn’t in the way.
Seconds. Pupils shrunk in realization. Less than a second to stop. Anyone normal would lose a tooth or two. I wasn’t. But I was out of practice.
I dodged in time to keep all my teeth in, but not in time to save my shoulder from cracking.
The impact pushed me off stance and I stumbled back into the intended target. Both men dropped their fists, rage forgotten for a heartbeat.
Then the crowd jumped in.
“Get him!”
“Kick him out!”
“Get outta here!”
Clones yelled at the other in dark armor while I blinked back tears threatening from the pain. Now wasn’t the time. Jayas and Fathal had abandoned the bar and were running over to check on me. Lyn watched from across the bar, serving tray clutched against her chest as she gasped. A swarm of angry clones pushed the one in dark armor back till he was trapped against the dartboards, the fight in his eyes undeterred by the numbers growing against him. Blood trailed down his busted lip. Before the one v one could turn into a one v bar, I brought my fingers to my lips and whistled. All eyes landed on me.
“You.” I turned to the clone I had fallen into–he hadn’t moved. His face was pulled into confusion and worry. Though he had sobered up considerably compared to when I jumped into the fight, he was slow to turn his attention back on me. Then, I turned to the sea blocking my path to the other clone. It parted without any orders from me and revealed him. Our eyes met and, even in the dim light, I could see he wasn't like other clones. “You. With me.”
No one, clone, patron, or employee alike stood in my path as I escorted the pair behind me to one of the few private places in the bar–the office. A tiny room that fit two chairs and one square desk, tucked back into a nook made by all the filing cabinets and boxes lining the walls. Bright yellow light hurt my eyes as we stepped inside. Once the door closed behind us, I turned to face the clones. Now that I could properly see them, their injuries were on full display.
So were their differences.
“Take a seat.” I gestured towards the chairs in the tight room. One sat normally. The other spun the chair around and sat facing its back.
I found myself questioning if the man in black (and red) armor was even a clone. He was skinnier and, even though he was sitting, taller than the other clone. At first glance I thought his silver hair was dyed, but then I noticed peach fuzz growing along his jaw–also silver. And then his face–long and sharp thanks to the gaunt look his cheekbones gave him. No one would think this was a clone if they didn’t know better. But I’d seen hundreds of clones. He shared the same deep brown eyes that I’ve looked into hundreds of times before. Maybe there was no other clone like him, but he was a clone.
And a tough one too. My gaze flicked to the trail of dried blood that ran down a busted lip to his chin. I also noticed purple slowly crawling from his left cheek. He’d come back up swinging despite the hits that landed.
Then I turned to the other clone. His armor was decorated in red stripes, the sign of a clone assigned to the Coruscant Guard. Great. Another reason for Commander Fox to hate my establishment. Unlike the silver haired clone, he was much more typical. He had cropped dark hair, brown eyes, and a full face–albeit made swollen by what would be a black eye given time. Otherwise, the only unique feature to him was a large tattoo that snaked around his neck and climbed up his jawbone. I recognized him from a few other visits, all without incident before.
Pain spiked behind my thoughts. The only barrier keeping it from consuming me was the need to sort everything out before I could retreat upstairs to slap bacta onto my shoulder. Somehow. I’d figure out the logistics later. For now, my attention was on the troublemakers.
“What’s your name?” I asked the clone in red stripes.
His brows pulled together and his eyes darted around the small room. Panic ran through his face, though he still answered me. “CT-823-”
“No,” I cut him off. Trooper numbers were for reports and people who wanted to make clones feel lesser. I wasn’t the latter, and I hadn’t yet decided on the former. “Your name.” Between the effort of submitting an official report to the GAR, Commander Fox’s pre-established distaste for anywhere that let clones get a little too “loose,” and knowledge I needed to treat my shoulder, the chances I’d bother were low. The tipping vote depended on what all of this was about.
“Binder, ma’am.”
“Binder, what happened?”
He glanced up to me, then at the other clone.
To his credit, the other clone kept his mouth shut. Not that, I suspected, he needed to use his mouth to say much. His arms draped over the back of the chair and his legs spread out wide to support his posture–rather casual for someone who could get into trouble with his superiors. He kept a Sabacc face, betrayed only by the toothpick that wouldn’t keep still between his lips. (Where did he get a toothpick?)
“He was cheating at darts.” Binder muttered.
I got punched. Over a game of darts? “That’s it?”
Binder shot out of his seat, hearing the disapproval in my words. He pointed at the other clone. “He was! No one can beat my score!”
“I did.” The silver haired clone interjected.
Even his voice was different, more gravel and less pavement.
The taller clone straightened his back, looking up to meet Binder’s flushed face with a shit-eating grin he knowingly used as bait for another fight. Before Binder could take it, I stepped between the pair once again. After swearing under his breath, Binder returned to his seat. The other clone gave me a smirk. I didn’t reciprocate.
It was a clear holo of what led to the night’s events, in the flesh. “So you beat Binder at darts,” The clone kept his lazy grin. “Flaunted more than you ought to, and got punched for it?” His lips dropped, slightly less pleased with himself when I laid it out like that.
“More or less…”
Stars, his voice instantly captivated me. The universe was cruel to drop this man in my lap this way. What would that voice sound like in my ear while he had me pushed against the wall? Would he grunt? Moan? Growl? I took a deep breath.
“How many drinks tonight?” I asked Binder.
Begrudgingly, Binder answered. “Four.” Then he added, “Thermals.”
Four Thermal Detonators. No wonder his temper got the best of him. “Alright, here’s what I’ll do.” I turned around and rummaged through the cabinets with minor difficulty. “I’ll chalk tonight up to more beer than you can handle,” I glanced back at Binder long enough to ensure he knew I was talking about him. Then, I rooted through a collection of various computer parts and some wayward screws until I found what I was looking for. “And someone who doesn't know the rules of my bar.” With the prize in hand I turned back around and looked at the clone in question. Both men met me with confused expressions, one big and curious and the other tight and suspicious.
“Take this before you sleep tonight,” With my left hand, I threw a tiny vial at Binder. He caught it against his chest. “It’ll help you metabolize the alcohol.” A spike of pain in my right arm demanded attention, so I rushed to wrap up. “Hangover prevention, if you will.”
Binder studied the clear liquid within the vial carefully before glancing back up at me. “I’m not going to report either of you.” The clones didn’t move. “You’re free to go.” I gestured to the door with my left hand, acutely aware of the pain surrounding my right.
Binder left first, and it was then I realized I never asked the other clone his name. Pain was gnawing at my thoughts, but I had to ask. “Wait.” I rounded the doorframe in time to see the mystery clone walking down the long hall to the back exit. Binder was already gone. “What’s your name?”
He stopped. I watched as he pulled something out of his mouth–the toothpick–and held it between his fingers like a death stick. “You said so yourself. You aren’t reporting this. I don’t need to tell you my name.” Faux-death stick returned to his lips.
“No, but I’m still asking.”
We stood there. Strides apart. With me leaning against the doorframe of my office trying to ignore the heartbeat caught in my collarbone and him with slack shoulders and a downturned head. The longer the silence went on the harder it was to ignore the pain.
“Why?” He broke the spell and turned around, facing me with narrowed eyes.
A feeble smile spread across my lips. “I’d at least like to know the name of the man who broke my shoulder.”
His jaw clenched and I regretted my teasing. His eyes fell to my shoulder. “You think it’s broken?”
“I think you’ve got one hell of a punch.” My lips curved into a smirk. Pain burst like a hot flame all around my shoulder, up my neck, and down my arm, causing my expression to falter. I took a step off the wall, then two, then four. When I reached him his gaze dropped behind me.
“I wasn’t aiming at you.”
“Trust me, I know.” I looked up into his eyes and realized I’d missed something. Thin black lines made a reticle around his right eye. I had gotten so lost in his differences with other clones, I didn’t even see the difference he chose. Half of a laugh escaped my lips. “You’re lucky I’ve got quick reflexes, or I might need more than a little bacta to fix this up.” I dipped my head towards the door that led to the stairwell just behind him. He followed my gaze. “Which, if you don’t mind,”  I moved past him towards the door. “I’ve put off long enough.”
With a hiss, the automatic door opened and I entered the stairwell. Metal echoed up the high ceiling as I climbed up the steps. It was quiet. So my thoughts were loud.
You felt the force again. I felt the force again. You are a Jedi and yet you hide your power and strength. I’m no Jedi, I’m not powerful, I have no strength. You let him go and now he’ll never come back. I’ll never know his name.
I gripped the railing, feeling a wave of nausea threaten in my throat. My breath turned rapid and the stairs before me started to shake. Just as I thought my grip would slip, I heard the doors open again. Quickly, I straightened up and turned to see Jayas. Except, that wasn’t Jayas.
Instead, there stood the clone with silver hair and a reticle tattoo.
“Hey.” He looked up to me. “You need any help?”
Every inch of my body felt like a live wire. Finding my voice took a moment. “Depends.” I managed. One silver brow raised in question at my answer. “You gonna tell me your name?”
A slight smirk pulled his lips up. He nodded his head once before climbing the stairs to reach my height. Once he was one step below me, he leaned in just enough to make my buzzing heart flutter. “Crosshair.”
I swallowed. “Nice to meet you, Crosshair. My name’s Anya.”

SCOM One Shot Preview
Title:
"But traditions I can trace against the child in your face."
So I've wanted to do a one shot first kiss fic in the SCOM universe for a while -- it was a more drawn out in Stranger Tides, even though there are some thematic similarities.
I wasn't exactly sure how to handle it until Dana's stream gave me a little inspiration.
So ... expect it this week! A little hurt/comfort trauma recovery and sweet fluff.
I'm also re-using a track I used to write one of my favorite Huntlow scenes in Stranger Tides.
I hope to have it out this week sometime and MAYBE commission a drawing for it?

The First Night
I’ve been watching Good Omens again. Have the first night after Armageddiddn’t-happen.
---
There were no clocks in Crowley’s apartment, so Aziraphale had no earthly idea what time they arrived back after the Armageddon-that-couldn’t.In fact, there were hardly any things at all; a single desk sat facing a floor-to-ceiling window, and an adorned chair accompanied it. Beyond the odd painting, everything was gray, gray, gray.
Aziraphale’s first thought as Crowley shut the door behind them was to suggest some bookshelves, and maybe some books. Maybe a few decorative sofas, even.
But as he opened his mouth to speak he remembered what Hell had been like: bodies pushed together, pipes hanging down from the ceiling, dirt smeared on the floor and walls. Crowded. Filthy. The exact opposite of this place. Kind of like Heaven, really.
“I like it,” he said instead, clasping his hands in front of him and plastering a smile to his face. “It’s very you.”
“Well,” Crowley muttered, shoving his hands in the pockets of his black skinny jeans and sauntering over to the desk, knocking his bony hip against it. The movement was fluid. Smooth as a snake’s scales. But only someone who knew him could see his entire body vibrated tension. “It’s no bookshop.”
Book. Shop. Spat like he was chopping it to bits between his teeth. Aziraphale wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d hissed it with a forked tongue. He shifted his weight and took a tentative step forward, just to see how Crowley would react. And he did, coiling like the world’s tightest spring.
“It’s perfectly adequate.” He paused and looked around, fighting the urge to cringe. Heaven’s pristine walls pressed in around him. “It’s actually quite nice.”
Crowley made a face, but didn’t question the obvious lie. “I only have one bed,” he said, seeming to trail off mid-thought as the implications of the statement occurred to him. “But I can sleep just about anywhere, really . . . Listen-” he made some gestures with his hands, his ring glinting under the overhead lights- “Angel-”
Aziraphale fidgeted with his lapels. He knew where this was going. “Crowley-”
“I think we need to talk.” They said at the same time, resulting in a stare-off that to Aziraphale was both frightfully awkward and charged. He took this time to step forward, closing the distance between him and the demon with tempo he usually didn’t possess.
Normally, it would be Crowley who initiated; who coaxed and wheedled and pried the angel out of his self-imposed shell with affection and promises of sweets. It would be Crowley who took the lead, not the other way around. But Crowley was right: there were no sides anymore. And Aziraphale needed to show him that he was ready to meet him where he was, and that no holy water or hellfire was going to hold him back.
So, he kissed him. And no sooner did his lips touch Crowley’s did the demon seize his lapels and crush their mouths together with a strangled whine.
“My,” was all Aziraphale could say when they broke apart seconds later, a mere blip in their endless lives, but eternity to him all the same. He brushed the back of his hand over his mouth, smearing away blood from where Crowley’s sharp teeth had caught on his bottom lip.
“I’ve been waiting forever to do that, Angel.” Crowley hovered close, keeping their faces hardly centimeters apart, almost like he wanted to do it again but wasn’t quite sure.
Aziraphale did it for him, dipping in for another quick kiss. “I know,” he said softly. “I confess I wasn’t ready.”
Crowley nodded. His adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. Outside the window, the nighttime lights of London glittered. “I know.”
He eased his grip on Aziraphale’s lapels, settling for stringing his long, spindly arms over the angel’s shoulders. Aziraphale let him. Even leaned into the touch. Heaven was too cold for such things. If they were to find out…
Crowley must have seen the look on his face, and understood what it meant. He withdrew, as always patient, as always willing to go at Aziraphale’s pace.
“I only have one bed,” he offered, “you can take it if you’d like-”
Aziraphale held up his hands. “You know I don’t sleep very often, my dear-” he hesitated as a flicker of disappointment crossed Crowley’s face, so quick he nearly missed it- “but I’d enjoy it, I believe, with you.”
Crowley smiled. Tight, but true. He held out one hand, and Aziraphale took it. “It’s a pleasure, Angel.”

i hope i'm not too late for the drabble slots! if you have any space left could i suggest kisses to end a first date with matt murdock from this prompt list? (or any other prompt you prefer, it was a tough choice!)
@mindidjarin here we go bby! I loved writing this, the park thing just popped right into my mind as soon as I finished reading your ask. I hope you enjoy it and thank you!

"That was possibly a contender for the best tiramisu I've ever had." you tell him, humming as you savour the last taste of it in your mouth as you stand outside the restaurant.
"That is quite a claim indeed, but yeah, it was pretty damn amazing!" Matt agreed. "So what would you like to do now? Although I'm not sure what I could suggest that would top that tiramisu..."
You laugh and Matt grins. He's been trying his best to keep you making that sound all night, it was so addictive and he wasn't doing too badly at it.
You shrug and then mentally chastise yourself knowing he couldn't see it. "Um, well, usually I might say a movie but..."
Matt smiled, "I'd be more than happy to go to a movie with you if that's what you want, it's no-"
You touch his arm and stopped him. "No it's okay Matt, I have another idea."
He let you lead him, his hand in yours, a few streets away. You rounded a couple of corners. He heard the panting of a dog, kids bouncing a basketball playing two on two, and then the light twitter of birdsong and the gentle rustle of the breeze through the trees. There was a slight groan of creaking metalwork and the loose chink of old chain.
"Okay, sit down." You said.
Matt couldn't stop smiling, chuckling as he sat down on the swing. "Alright.."
"You ready?"
"Yeah I guess so, what about you?"
"Oh, I'll get my turn don't you worry," you smirked as you gave him a firm push and set him off. You shoved him a couple more times and stepped to the side, laughing as he got into it, swinging higher.
"God, I've not done this for so long..." he says, leaning back as he arced up into the air.
"I think it's like flying," you muse, "well, closest thing you can get to it in Hell's Kitchen anyway!"
Matt laughs but he couldn't disagree. There was something so simple but so pure about it.
"I come here sometimes," you said, watching him soar, "if I've had a crappy day or whatever. It just cheers me up, makes me feel free y'know?"
Matt gradually slows down and hops off the swing, holding it for you to take his place. "Hope this hasn't been a crap day?" he asks you, raising a brow.
You sit down and feel his hands gentle but firm on your waist as he pulls you backwards. "No of course not Matt! I'm having such a great time with you, I really am."
Matt smiles contentedly, letting you go and pushing when you swing back. "Well so am I. Think you can go higher than me?" he challenges.
You tense your legs and core and swing yourself up to dizzying heights in no time with ease, then cracking up at how ridiculous this all seemed. "Maybe we should have gone to a movie after all, this is silly, I'm sorry."
You slow down, scuffing your shoes on the ground to stop yourself and Matt comes round in front of you, hands grasping the chain either side of your face. "No, it's not silly at all sweetheart, im so happy that you brought me here." You look up at him, his expression is so warm and honest. You really want to kiss him.
"Matt, I-" you began, but he moves his hand to the side of your face, stroking his thumb over your cheek before you can finish the words.
"I'm gonna kiss you, is that okay?" he asks softly.
You nod and laugh at yourself again because he can't fucking see but somehow he knows, the corner of his mouth lifting up before he swoops in to capture your lips in his.
Your eyes close as you melt against him. He's slow and patient, his soft lips caressing your own so gently as he slides his fingers in your hair, guiding you a little closer to him. He tastes a little of the wine you shared at dinner, a little of the coffee liqueur of the infamous dessert, and something else that's just... him.
He stops but doesn't move away, a sliver of space between you if you did want to stop but to hell with that, you lean forward teasing your tongue the tiniest bit along his bottom lip. He hums and smiles against you and you squeal as he picks you up, turns around and takes your place on the swing seat, guiding you down to sit sideways on his lap.
"Oh okay, yeah this is better than a movie..." you grin as you wrap your arms around him and he kisses you again. This time it's deeper, a little more heat and passion as his tongue slides against your own.
"Mm, yea... much." he muses as you pause for a moment, his fingers entwining with yours. "can we go to the swingpark after every date?" he asks.
You both laugh and he kisses you breathless until the stars come out.

Stronger Together
The staccato notes of her heels slowed in tempo and Lena went quiet as she turned the corner in National City’s Grand Park. Darkness engulfed her pathway, but she knew that trees would give way to a busy street after a half mile and she’d be nearly home. She’d walked this path dozens of time in recent years.
“So, what did you think of their potstickers?” Kara’s voice–a bit tinny over the phone–pulled her back to their conversation as she continued her walk.
“Darling, I had only one thanks to that voracious appetite of yours, but I suppose the one I had was up to my standards.”
Lena could hear Kara scoff. Her lips pulled into a grin she bit back.
“I say this as a friend, Lena: you have subpar standards when it comes to potstickers.”
“If I’m being honest, Kara, my indifference disallows me to have standards when it comes to potstickers.”
“Exactly!”

The tears hadn’t stopped, for hours I had been crying my eyes out. I knew why Jamie had broken up with me but I couldn’t really imagine why it was hitting me so hard. He and I had the talk about the fact that I wasn’t really comfortable with giving up my virginity, or truly anything that stripped my virginity away from me. Espically not when he was drunken mess from the lunch date earlier.
Had I walked all the way to Billy’s house? Yes, I had walked all the way toward Billys. I hadn’t meant to just walk out of my house. Well maybe I had, my mind was clouded and I wasn’t able to think about anything other than needing someone, a shoulder to cry on.
I had only ever been to Billy’s once or twice. Nothing more then to tutor him, a one off exchange between the both of us. I was tutor him once a month and he would help me with othe basic things. If I thought about it he was the one that introduced me to Jamie. I knocked on the front door only once, before i rang the doorbell. I could hear the rock music playing in the house at volumes I doubt his father or stepmother would allow. “What the hell do you…” The door had opened Billy was standing there. In nothing but an old beat up white tank top, and his signature jeans.
“Y/n?” He questioend, he was aware of the tears I had running down my cheeks. Or tears that had stained my cheeks. “Billy I know that I’m here unannouced. I just didn’t know where else to go and Jamie he… well Jamie broke up with me.” I said in a ramble of mixed words. He kept his eyes on me for only a moment before the anger swept through his facial expressions. I had a quick moment of doubt, a moment of realizing my mistakes of trekking down to his house on Cherry Lane. “Billy… I’m sorry I think it will be better if I just leave.” I said hastily. Before I could turn to walk away he was grabbing my arm pulling into the warmth of the house.
“Did you walk all the way here?” he asked his voice a little horse from what I would only guess he was trying to push down the anger. I only shook my head and then he was slamming his bedroom shut. His room smelt of cologne and smokes. Something that always had my head in a twist. “Why would you not just call me? You know I would come and get you?” He asked, to many questions and my own thoughts were cloding my already foggy brain. The bed was softer then I imagined it would be and it bounced as I moved on it.
“Hello Mcfly? Are you there?” Billy asked waving his hand over my face. “Yeah I’m here. I just I’m sorry I need a second?” The words tumbled out of my mouth and the urge to cry was boiling over in the back of my throat. “Goddamn it Y/n.” Billy said throwing a punch into the air. “I’m sorry. Okay I’m sorry.” The tears had started to run again, I’m sure why or why I had even walked my sad ass all the way towards Billy’s.
Billy hadn’t yet looked over at me up until that moment. “Fuck I’m sorry Y/n. I just don’t know how to deal with you know.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. “Of course the crying I forgot.” I said. I looked over at Billy for the first time. Looking at the sharpness of his jawline as he sat down beside me. I brushed the tears from under my eyes, and breathed hard.
We sat in a cold and harass silence for a little to long. The room growing smaller as it more and more uncomfortable. I wondered where his parents where, and where was his witty red headed stepsister. I was dragged out of my thoughts when I heard Billy ask me a question. “So, if you don’t mind telling me what happened?” He asked, as he got up from the spot next to me and grabbed his smokes.
Billy wasn’t always the most emotionally supportive friend or really a good friend at all. I had seen the small arguments that his father and Billy would get into. Things would be thrown, voices would get louder then normal, and punches would go flying normally hitting Billy in the chest, stomach or square in his perfect face.
-
Did I mind telling Billy what had managed to happen. To have me to end up at his door on a random night. No, I honestly didn’t mind that’s why I had walked all the way here, to talk to someone about it. To let it go into the air and away from my over thinking mind, that was currently mualing it over. “I don’t mind Billy. Just promise you won’t go crazy on me?” I asked. I licked my chap lips, and looked over at him. He was ever so sightly taller then me. No matter if we were standing or sitting down.
He sighed heavily, like my requests was a rather hard on to swallow down. “Yeah I promise.” He said exhaling a puff of smoke. So my story from earlier in the day began. “So I guess I should start earlier in the day right.” I said looking down at my hands. My fingers dancing between the fabric of my shirt and messing with my short nails. All I heard was a small hum for me to continue with my story.
“Jamie and I had just gotten back from a lunch with his friends. You know the ones from the basketball team?” I asked, but continued on. “So we had gone and everything was okay. Jamie had picked me and was all gentlemen like. I don’t know how they managed it though, somehow where ever we went with Jamies friends they were able to get some sort of alcoholic drinks. I wasn’t sure of what kind, but I’m not a drinker. I never have been, so instead I watched as the boys and their girlfriends who were to prim and proper to know just how disgusting day drinking was. Drink and drink til their hearts were content.” I said, taking a slow breath, looking at Billy he was still interested in the story.
“But a subject was brought up during lunch today. A topic that you don’t normally talk about in fucking public or with other people who aren;t in your relationship. Jamie had been asked how good of a fuck I was, and if I knew what I was doing.” I said, my words getting caught in the back of my throat. To be honest as I talked about it outloud the words seemed dirtier, and heavier then before.
I shook my head and continued on with my my heart breaking story. “He laughed about it, telling everyone that I was prude, and didn’t ever really staisfed him at all.” I chortled, not that it was funny or a joke at all. Just sounded funnier now that I had time to think about his words and just how stupid of a guy he truly is. “Are you sure this is Jamie that you’re talking about? The same Jamie I know?” Billy asked me raised eyebrows in wonder.
I rolled my eyes. “Yes, and please just let me finish and then I’ll get out of your hair.” I said with a huff before returning to my story. It wasn’t like there was much, beside the argument we had in the drive back to my house, and the argument we had before he broke up with me. There wasn’t much more to tell.
“For the rest of that god for saken lunc hI sat in the uncomfortable silence of his friends girlfriends speaking about me like I wasn’t there and him and his friends laughing about the fact I was still a virgin. I hadn’t even kissed him yet.” I said. “We left not shortly after, and the car ride was horrible. I wasn’t able to hold it in any longer the anger boiling and finally tipping over the edge. I yelled at him as he drove me back to my house. He called me a prude once again and then a bitch for not just  giving him what he wanted.” I said my fingers twitching within my lap. Looking down at the carpeted floor. The stains from whatever Billy brought into his room had seeped into the flooring.
And for the first time in the entire day I smiled. “The fighting didn’t stop, not even when he followed after me half drunk into my house. I tired to push him away but he wasn’y having any of that. So, he grabbed me tightly around the wrist.” I pushed my sleeve up showing the growing bruise that was caused because of his grasps. “I did try and get away Billy. I screamed at him to let me go and pushed him away, until his cold and dark eyes looked back at me and told me that he never not once in out entire relationshoped loved me, and that I was better off alone. The lost and little lamb that I was, was better off alone because nobody would want such a prude like me.”
It was silent for a moment before I started to speak again. “You know the rest Billy.” I said with a shurg of my shoulders. I was tired the crying, and screaming taking a lot of me. I sat there still, before I felt Billy’s rough hand touch over both of mine. “I knew I shouldn’t have shared you with my friends. I heard Billy whisper out, his thumb rubbing a soothing circle into my skin. The touch was intimate for many a reason. But the most obvious one was the simple fact that Billy wasn’t one for touch, or any true sign of emotion.
“Shared me?” I questioned. Shared me what the hell did that even mean? There was no pretending that the crush I had on Billy was ever going to go away. The crush had grown and been growing even through I was dating Jamie. “All of those damn guys are just pricks. Not to mention their dumb, dull girlfriends.” Billy said, his hand still resting into my mine. Thumb still rubbing soothing circles into my hand.
“Yeah I get that, but what do you mean share me?l I was intrigued more about what the implications of his words meant, not by how his words made me wanna melt into his sheet. “Just be honest with me Billy. I’m a big girl and I can handle it.” I just for once tonight wanted the truth.whether it was cold and harsh or  made me feel giddy. I don’t know what was happening all around me. This felt like a hazy dream that I had dreamt a million times over. He deeply stared at me, a few whispys of his golden hair falling infront of his forehead. They were distracting me from another part of his handsome face. Those sky blue eyes that somehow pierce right into your heart.
A heavy sigh left him before he composed himself. “I just mean that… you’re were my friend first ya know. I shouldn’t have let you out for the wolves.” Billy said. He looked like he was trying to hold something back, and the grip he had on my hand was getting stronger. “Billy? Please.” Was all I had left to say. The truth, please just the fucking truth that’s all I had been searching for all day long.
“Fine, you want the truth don’t you. You can’t just leave it at the front door can you? Fuck,” Billy said voice growing deeper by the second. His eyes casted down to my bruised wrist. “I should have just kept you for myself. Treated you better than some asshole who clearly doesn’t doesn’t know who they have in their arms.” It was like pulling teeth with Billy to just get him to talk about the simplest emotions.
I wanted to laugh, but that felt wrong. This must be a true joke right. Billy would never, never fall for the innocent, shy girl that was only his friend because he got something out of it. Right? “Now you’re tight lipped.” Billy commented as I had gone silent. I went to say something but things wer eswirling around in my head. “That’s okay. I get it, big bad Billy can’t help but like the girl that’s to cute for her own good. Who lets people walk all over hee. I should have protected you from an asshole like Jamie, but I thought that you would never. I mean never take a liking to me. I was a dick to… well to everyone. Maybe you alrady knew that, but then you still end up here at my doorstep. So, that must mean something right?” Billy rambled on.
I was in shock for to many reasons at this point. Was he was rambling because he was letting his guard down, the millions of walls that he had built. He was still talking, but I wasn’t paying attention to the endless flow of words that were falling out. I was paying attention to how his tongue jutted out and licked over his lips. A shiny glaze making them glisten in the little light that he had. I didn’t know what was happening, not even after I started moving towards him.
His hand was still on mine, so I leant in. “Billy.” I whispered. “Will you stop talking and just make up for the lost time.” I begged in barely a whisper. That signature smirk crossed over his rambling expressions. He reached me. A hand coming to cup the back of my neck as he leant down and pressed his lips against mine.
The kind of kiss made me feel like the time around us had stopped. It wasn’t a kiss that I would ever be able to explain to my friends. It was like stars had aligned, and everything for just that one moment was perfect. Billy had taken my first kiss, and when we broke away from each other. That signature smirk hadn’t left his face, he was very cheeky. “How was that for a first kiss huh?” He asked. I rolled my eyes, “How about you ask me later. Like I said you have to make up for a lot of lost time.”
I winked at him, before going in for another deep and lustful kiss. This was going wherever it was supposed, without any further pushing on either of our parts. He pushed me down onto the mattress. His free hand roamed down my chest and found a spot on the side of my ribcage. Billy’s other hand stayed on my cheek, holding me closer than before.
