"Who would've thought I'd see you like this again." that same familiar voice tone, made you look back only to see a not so familiar face. He looked older and by the looks of it the man standing behind you had these empty eyes, smoking cigarettes like there's no tomorrow, he shrugs and takes a step closer to you. "You, have I met you somewhere?" he raises your chin to take a good look, to the left and to the right then he sees something familiar with a birth mark, shaped almost like a flower. He racks his brain, trying so hard to remember who is this human nor devil in front of him. But you didn't speak, too speechless to even say a word, now that you had a closer look at him as well you knew him by his scent and by those pesky cigarettes of him. (Kishibe, it's been a long time...I'm sorry I had to erase your memories back then.) Kishibe doesn't remember a thing, he doesn't remember his first partner before Quanxi came along, it's because that partner of his died the first week in the job. And the catch is that, ever since then he doesn't remember even having a partner or the small tiny moments they had, just like a bubble, popped and disappeared into thin air. And that bubble was you. You made a contract with the Dream Devil, and for the last time you implanted that the day you died is nothing but just a mere dream for him, so that he could forget. (Kishibe, it's really good to see you again like this...) giving a smile, Kishibe furrowed his eyebrows perplexed as to why this shadow figure in front of him seemed familiar a while ago and then turned into this. "A fiend. Why did you seem familiar to me? Do you perhaps know me?"taking a stance, he grabs a knife from his coat and points it towards you. "You may not know me but I know you, nothing about me seems interesting at all. But you, you are interesting, Kishibe.) covering more of yourself with the shadows of darkness the more you feel alive and strong, but of course you expected to be killed by this. Before you could've explained something you were slain without hesitations. On your last breath you removed the curse from Kishibe, it took a toll on him to remember it all, but he does now. And even more, because he had slain you. Cemetery, yes, the place where he mostly goes. Now looking down at the grave, he remembered why he would always stand on this peculiar grave he knew nothing of, it was because this was the grave of his first partner that had died. You didn't want to burden him, you didn't want to blame himself to what had happened to you, so your last resort was to make him forget and it did work. He forgot. "You, you are a complete fool. When you became my partner I told you not to break easily, and within a week you died. And the worst thing is for you to be cursing me for years now, I underestimated you. You are strong even the dead couldn't stop the curse...did you only come back to lift this stupid curse, from an old man? If so, thank you..." leaving a bouquet of flowers on the grave stone, he walks like the wind swiftly away from the grave. "I see you now..." he utters as the wind carries away those words to the horizon.

I deleted Reddit a while ago cuz it stopped being cool after i developed some brain cells but the one subreddit I kinda miss is gamingcirclejerk. Like the whole schtick was that everyone on there would pretend to be a capital G Gamer (aka an idiot) and post screenshots of actual capital G Gamers saying stupid shit like “fallout isn’t a political game” or “there are too many women in this game and it’s unrealistic” or even “politics aren’t important in media” and everyone would pretend to agree with them like “yeah man fallout is the most apolitical game I’ve ever played in my life” but sometimes someone would post a screenshot of a take that was so fucking insane that everyone would be like “hey uh breaking the gimmick for a sec, what the fuck is this guy talking about” and it was great. I hate Reddit but I miss you GCJ 💜

Chinese regulations require that approved map service providers in China use a specific coordinate system, called GCJ-02 (colloquially Mars Coordinates). Baidu Maps uses yet another coordinate system - BD-09, which seems to be based on GCJ-02.

GCJ-02 (officially Chinese: 地形图非线性保密处理算法; lit. 'Topographic map non-linear confidentiality algorithm') is a geodetic datum used by the Chinese State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (Chinese: 国测局; pinyin: guó-cè-jú), and based on WGS-84. It uses an obfuscation algorithm which adds apparently random offsets to both the latitude and longitude, with the alleged goal of improving national security.

So about that new Hogwarts Legacy game…

It was a warm summer afternoon in 2013 when I got my first personal computer, at the age of 8. The very first video game I played on this computer was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Even as an 8 year old idiot who’d only played 3 other games before on his cousin’s console, I could tell that Half-Blood Prince wasn’t exactly the cream of the crop when it came to games. But being the huge “Potterhead” I was, I couldn’t care less. It was a fun time.

Since then I have continued to play and enjoy many more games. My favorite video games tend to be RPGs and in 2019, I randomly got a strong urge to see an RPG set in the world of the Harry Potter books. Fast forward to 2023, and as it would appear, my wishes have been granted. Hogwarts Legacy, developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. should be exactly what I was hoping for, but as we all know, it isn’t. Due to the actions and beliefs of its author, JK Rowling, since 2020, the Harry Potter IP has been tainted.

For those unaware, JK Rowling is a vitriolic transphobe who may refer to herself as a feminist but we all know that isn’t actually true. Since then she has rightfully received well-deserved criticism from many trans folks who grew up reading her books, identifying with the metaphor of Harry getting to escape the closet under the stairs. She is a disappointment and a pathetic hateful woman and there is no defending her. Many trans people are advocating to boycott her and I am fully in support of it.

Which brings us to the issue at hand: leading up to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, trans people on Twitter and Reddit (r/GCJ primarily) have attempted a disorganized boycott of the game by urging people around them and in their internet communities to not buy it. Unfortunately, as the mind-melting sales of the game show, this boycott has demonstrably been a failure. In fact, even if this may be upsetting to hear to some people, the boycott has provably made more people buy the game than not. Reactionary right-wingers who have no history with the series are buying the game just to, in their words, “own the libs”.

But I say instead of feeling powerless in this situation we should try to learn from our mistakes and be better. Why did this attempt fail? Well there are 3 reasons I see, all of them super depressing:

The average Joe is incredibly bigoted towards trans people and would never do an act of solidarity towards them.

The boycott was incredibly disorganized and mostly just consisted of trans people on Twitter calling anyone interested in the game transphobic which is obviously never gonna change anyone’s mind.

Trans people, especially trans women, have no political influence at all. This movement did barely anything other than serving as content for reactionary youtubers.

Here’s what we have to understand, anyone who wasn’t gonna buy this game had already made up their mind even before the game came out. I knew the moment I learned about Rowling’s beliefs that I would in no way financially support her ever. But the people who know about her and still don’t care cannot be persuaded unless there is a larger cultural shift in the discourse surrounding trans rights, and that is what we should be focusing on. Arguing with no-life chuds on social media is doing nothing but wasting our own time. We need to take a page out of 4chan’s book and learn to better organize our movements. Unified we may be able to create actual change instead of just inviting debate perverts who want to dehumanize LGBT people.

Also to the people wanting to play the game but not support JK Rowling, simply pirate it. That’s more ethical than giving money to corporations like WB and evil hags like Joanne.

There are days when you feel that you are at your lowest, that you are not good enough that whatever you do is just not enough to give satisfaction to others. You're fed up with all these, having to feel so low, witnessing yourself get weaker by the minute and caring about what others start to think of you. You were fed up. "I want to give up. I'm tired of it all, I just want to give up..." tearing up as you mumbled those words out of your mouth, you felt even weaker the more you admit it the more you surrender. You just wanted it all to end. Crying in your room doesn't help at all, but for you to bring all this pain and tears out it helps in some other way. You heard knocks on your door, you already knew who it was but you had no intentions of letting them in. After the knocking, you heard them talking asking you to come eat and that the weather outside is great, but you didn't care one bit. "Hey, you know that I am here ready to listen right?" he said behind the door, though you cannot see him you felt how sincere they were and it ached your heart to hear such words, those words were the last thing you would've heard from someone but when it comes to him, it's different. Bokuto Koutarou, your childhood best friend who regularly comes to your apartment to check on you and it just so happens that he visits you more than ever now that he knows you are going through something, but you didn't want to bother him at all. "I know that things are tough right now, but I know that you'd get through this. I believe in you, and I believe that you'd be able to face it all again when you're ready. Let it all out, cry it all out. And when you're done come down and have lunch with me." as he said those words, you hear his footsteps receding in the hallway. And you burst out into tears, you hated how much he understands you, and you hate yourself for pushing him away, pushing the only person who is willing to hear you out. Deciding to come out to your room wasn't an easy choice for you, upon opening the door you immediately get to be greeted by Bokuto himself. He didn't leave. "Glad you decided to come out." he utters while showing a big friendly grin, he placed his hand over your cheek slowly caressing. "Your eyes are puffy and red, you sure took your time crying in there." he let out a chuckle and tried the excess tears from your eyes, his warm hand sent you comfort. "I'm always here for you, I'm here when you need me too. You can lean on me the next time you cry, I can listen to you until you stop."
