hi! i've been kinda gardening, in the ground and all for a couple years now but i'm still pretty stupid and learning, i know you're supposed to use potting or seed mix bc the perlite + peat combo makes the container bearable for the little seedlings roots and makes the watering consistent.... but the question is how can we grow things before they're meant to be put in the ground, as a headstart? without spending money that fuels a practice that is extremely insane and greedy, since perlite + vermiculite as well as peat moss are not exactly renewable resources. i have a lot of old crumpled leaves here but they're not exactly composted leaf mold so i'm wondering if i just mix that with native soil if i can make something idk airy and nice i guess for the seeds?

If you can get some soil from a forest, from under a rotten or dead tree, that would do well in a container! (once you clean it from all of the leaves.) You can see how I prepare the soil from forest-soil and sand here.

Other than that, I've seen many methods. Plant lady will sometimes take soil that has been worked on by moles, mix it with some moss and plant in it, and it works sometimes. I'm convinced that if you don't have horrible clay as your soil, you could mix it with fine sand and it would work in a container. You don't need perlite or whatever they're selling, you'll always be able to find some fine and airy soil in the nature, or if you make compost yourself, you could mix your compost with sand and it would also make a good potting soil.

If your compost is still having whole pieces of leaf, don't use them for little starts. Organic matter that is still in the middle of composting takes up nitrogen, and you don't want your plants to have nitrogen taken away. Usually when people construct garden beds, they'll only use organic matter very deep in the no-dig garden, or on the surface, as mulch.

Try to see if there's some fine sand in the river, or in the nearest forest or lake that you can bring home and use to make your soil airy! You can try several things and one of them will eventually work out. Just don't use pure clay or heavy soil, as your tiny plants won't be able to push out of it.

Also if you're worried about watering, just use bottom-watering method and water consistently, we don't need a special type of soil to keep the soil damp, just some attention and dedication.

What I love most about Gandalf big naturals is how much it eases my chest dysphoria. I can sleep without a shirt on now because of Gandalf Big Naturals. Knowing that the artist made the original image while recovering from top surgery and said the image was like a final parting gift from their boobs makes me feel even better about the image's effect on me. Men with big naturals makes me feel much more good about my body than those old posts on here that were like "trans men! Some men have pecs!!! So don't feel dysphoric <3". It's much more meaningful to see a hairy, bearded man with a huge H cup rack not letting his tits get in the way of his masculinity.

Most of all, Gandalf Big Naturals helped me love my body the way it is instead of hating something that's a part of me. Of course I still want top surgery but the fact that I can live with my own big naturals until then without wanting to guillotine them off is really important.

I think it's so adorable that early humans took wild gourds - a tiny fruit that hollows out as it dries, making it float - and decided to make something out of it

they thought the tiny fruit was so good that they bred it for thousands of years, making it larger to form into bowls and cups, and different shapes to become bottles and spoons

and musical instruments

And then, people took the hollow gourds they farmed, and they turned them into houses for birds. We adapted them into the perfect houses for birds, and now there are specific breeds of birdhouse gourd just for making into birdhouses

And humans dedicated gardening space and time and thousands of years of breeding to make the gourds so absolutely perfect for birds, that there is a species of bird that lives almost exclusively in them

I was determined to use the drawing tablet to finally draw something, so i doodled this last night:-

hahaha.. I can't help but think that their fight is a liiiittle bit similar to that one concept in Naruto where Naruto and Sasuke attempt to understand eachother's feelings through their fists, hence Gojo was able to recognize Sukuna's loneliness and inability to understand love, and tried his best to convey his own emotions to Sukuna through the fight.

But on a more comedic note, Gojo has a thing for people who are able to kill him, and Sukuna's out here irritated, annoyed, and quite frankly, a little confused with the recent trend of people's obsession with trynna teach him about love. (Maybe he has made a mistake incarnating into this timeline????)

FFS the man is currently trapped within Yuta's ""True Mutual Love ❤"" Domain atm, its February and i think the next chapter's physical copy is releasing on Valentine's Day, whats with all of this symbolism!!!?!!
