Needless to say i am enjoying the ever loving FUCK out of The Fall of the House of Usher. I went from having a normal day to running around like a rabid dog and shaking my head as i tear apart my favorite chew toy
Checo: It didn’t feel like a goodbye to Seb.
Charles: Sorry?
Checo: It didn’t feel like a goodbye to Seb. I have a feeling he will come back.
Checo: [to Max] Do you?
Charles: I don’t have that feeling.
Max: I don’t know...I mean...
Charles: I don’t think he will come back unfortunately.
an unstoppable force (the comedy gold of the encounter with the syphilis bandits) meets an immovable object (the looming devestation of “take them out, take them out”)
I need s5 byler to be filled with all the most iconic queer tv/film parallels. Give us the close-up shot of their hands almost touching between realms, give us one of them confessing their love before they disintegrate, give us every common, overwrought trope, that 99% of the time ends in death, but this time, do it only for the sole purpose of paying homage to all the queer characters/pairings throughout history that never got their happy ending and subvert it. Let byler have their happy ending.
Here's a fun drinking game: watch A Haunting in Venice and take a shot every time there's a Dutch angle. Wasted in the first 40 minutes or your money back
By the way still haven't recovered from the fact that if you play the Dark Urge, basically everyone's recruitment seems to go exactly the same. Except for Astarion, who you gaze at longingly in a lovestruck daze and then get hit with this line:
I am soooo glad they stuck the landing with this event!! I was afraid it was gonna go out with a whimper like annis 6 and 8 but nope went out with a BANG
Much emotions, but overall happy with how things turned out!!! Got a certain bird to fry on a stick though...
it was a pure BANG that's for sure.
I did worry a lot because part 1 and 2 were solid, but in a very "the part 3 will make it or break it" way. And imo the part 3 made it all good. It remained strong in its storyline and gave proper pay off to most of what it introduced. I was fearing the event would get overstuffed, but in the end they balanced everything pretty nicely.
So it was very good imo. I'm happy with what we got!
but yeah let's fry this phoenix while we're at it--
AU where Lachlan acquires a guitar, and when he tries to play it, weird things start happening. He thinks he has finally drunk himself into hallucinations, but no, the guitar is just haunted by Alice, its previous owner.
