So one thing I've always loved about uni/studying/learning new things is when you have different subjects or different tiny dots of knowledge and slowly, as you learn more and more, those tiny splashes of knowledge are becoming less isolated, and you realize that it's all connected and - at least with my subjects being in the humanities - you sort of “unlock” this new perspective on a certain aspect of the human condition. And like, that's fun enough and - if I'm being honest - probably my favorite thing about studying already as it is, BUT NOW, now that I've finally gotten back into writing as a hobby this is just ANOTHER dimension for me to expand that knowledge into and to use that knowledge for. And I am absolutely living for it. So happy to be back on my bullshit and so happy to be at a place in my life where these two passions of mine fit so seamlessly together and one passion benefits from the other and vice versa

Hi, there! :D
I saw the new event once a book and I thought it was interesting, If it's not too much trouble I would like to request:
Fandom: TWST (Silver x Fem reader) Story: Charming Fairytale the Book: A book that has been lovingly re-covered in now sun-faded fabric. <3
If my order does not convince you, you can discard it without problems, but if not, take your time and without pressure. Thank you. The new event made me excited, you are one of my favorite twst writers and I am happy to finally place an order here
Oh my goodness! I’m so touched that you like my writings and I’m thrilled to write a fic for you. In all honesty, the book selection actually serves as the character selection, but since I didn't clearly indicate that int he even, I've written two fics for you. One for Silver and one for the book you chose. The one for Silver is below (which was written and edited while I listened to “Entendez-Vous” by Cécile Corbel, but I’ll make sure to link the other one to you as well! I hope you enjoy your tale(s)!
600 Followers event!

I had to give it to the enchanted book I'd been sucked into; I had been given a very simple role. Find the lost prince and return him to his home so he could save the land from the rule of an evil witch.
It was a pretty basic fairytale plot, and I could only hope that finishing the story would result in me going back to Twisted Wonderland. If it didn’t, I really didn’t know what I could do other than place all of my hopes in Silver.
After all, he had been in the room with me when I’d opened the enchanted book that had, quite literally, pulled me into its story.
I scrambled up onto a rock, glancing around in search of some place that looked even vaguely like where I thought a lost prince might hide or be hidden.
To be honest, I fully suspected that he’d been locked away more so than he had been lost, since that seemed far more in line with what I’d expect from a fairytale about a supposedly lost prince.
But then, this particular fairytale had already surprised me in that there was a dude in distress with a lady savior rather than the usual damsel with a male hero. But then, I quite possibly wasn’t actually the hero of this story like I’d been thinking I was.
But no matter exactly what my role was, I was the one attempting to find the lost royal that the country was counting on to save the day.
I felt my eyebrows lift as I spied a shadowy castle that wasn’t terribly far from where I currently stood and did look almost exactly like what I’d expect from a place where a royal in distress would be kept.
I nodded slightly to myself before setting off, my pace fairly leisurely as I made my way towards the dark castle that looked like it had seen better days.
I almost smiled as I noticed the bats fluttering around the towers that stretched up towards the sky. A nice, almost gothic touch to the overall villainous aesthetic of the castle.
What made the place even better from my point of view was that the massive gate was open, and I had no difficulty getting in. In fact, I quite literally just walked into the place.
I did have to admit, though, that the fact that I’d gotten in so easily did beg the question of why this lost prince hadn’t simply escaped or come home on his own?
There was, of course, the possibility that I’d wholly misunderstood this situation and that I was dealing with a runaway prince rather than a hostage situation.
A runaway prince who was plot-ordained to save the country would make for an interesting tale, though it certainly wouldn’t be that of your typical fairytale.
More of a subversion than anything.
I frowned slightly as I walked around the seemingly abandoned castle that looked like it was steadily crumpling into nothing.
It was the sort of place Malleus would like, but that hardly helped my current dilemma.
Because if this prince was a runaway, he would probably be hiding from me. But if he were instead a hostage, like I’d initially suspected, then the first place I’d look would be in the dungeons or the tallest tower.
I glanced up at the towers, grimacing slightly at the thought of going into the mass of rocks that looked like they were about to collapse the very second a wind blew through.
I paused in my survey of the castle, though, feeling my eyebrows arch as I caught sight of a door that looked far heftier than any of the others. And it wasn’t just that either; that section of the castle also seemed far sturdier than the rest.
I rolled my shoulders and braced my hands on the dark wood before pushing, only for nothing to happen, causing me to frown at the weight of the door.
I inhaled deeply, though, and leaned fully into my shove as I dug in with my heels. I breathed through my motions as I slowly started walking forward, pushing the door open slowly but surely before I stumbled to a stop and looked up into the room beyond.
It was mostly dim, with only a bit of sunlight filtering in through the damaged roof above and spotlighting a single area on the dais. But otherwise, it looked wholly uninhabited, and no one was obviously hiding in it either.
I hesitated, though, frowning as I listened closely to a distant sound that slowly became clearer until I could identify it. Footsteps.
I glanced around, my eyes searching for the person, until a figure became visible as it approached the dais.
I felt my eyes widen as he stepped into the light that made his pale hair shine in perfect opposition to the darkness that was all around.
And he looked like a perfect prince. A dark uniform with silver epaulets and a sword hanging at his side. It was almost like I was looking at a picture out of a storybook, and I blinked up at him, hardly believing my eyes as my words failed me.
At odds with my speechlessness, he spoke in an almost tired tone, “Y/n… I wondered where you were.”
I blinked, almost like I was snapping out of a spell at the sound of his soft voice, and my voice returned to me, “You’re the lost prince??”
I openly gaped up at him, but I couldn’t help but be shocked that all of this time I’d been looking for him. Somehow, it seemed oddly fitting. I had gotten the strange sensation that I’d been searching for him my entire life before, but I’d always shaken it off and refused to ask him if he’d ever had that same sensation.
Despite my surprise, Silver was just like he always was. Utterly stoic and seemingly unbothered as he nodded at me.
I could only assume he’d gotten used to his role in this book just I like had, but I still found myself walking towards him with surprise still rolling through me, “You got sucked into the book too?”
It was another rather obvious question, but if he was bothered, he certainly didn’t show it. Instead, he just nodded before calmly walking down the stairs and meeting me in the middle of the room.
“Have you been in this place the whole time?” I found myself scanning him for injuries or anything else of the sort, but he seemed wholly unharmed.
“Yes, this castle seems to be cursed to keep from leaving,” He explained calmly, turning and walking over to the still open door only to be stopped short of exiting by a wall that shimmered into place.
I had been right. He wasn’t a runaway prince at all. He was being held hostage, no doubt by the witch that was currently ruling the country.
I felt myself frown as he stepped backwards, causing the wall to disappear once more as he turned to look back at me.
On the bright side, I now knew why it had been so easy for me to get into this place. But on the down side, I had no idea how to get him off here if this castle was specifically enchanted to keep him in.
And to make matters worse, if I couldn’t get him out, then we were stuck just in here, but in this story, and since he was in here, no one back in Twisted Wonderland would know where we were.
But then, I also didn’t know if finishing this story would get us out. For all I knew, we might be trapped in an endless rotation of the same story over and over again.
I glanced over at Silver before walking over to join him by the open door, “Do you know if finishing the story will get us out of this book?”
I watched him closely and prayed he knew the answer, only to sigh as he shook his head, a slight frown of his own appearing on his face, “No. I’d heard of enchanted books from Father, but he never mentioned how one got out of such a book.”
I watched him silently for a moment before inhaling and turning my gaze back to the door, “Well, working with the idea that finishing the story will get us out. We have to get you out of this castle first.”
I paused, glancing back his way before I continued, “Do you know anything about the curse on this place that’s keeping you inside?”
Again, I was desperately hoping he did because, despite all of the information I had received the very moment I’d woken up in this tale, none of it had anything about cursed castles.
A smile briefly flickered across Silver’s face as he nodded, shifting slightly to better face me, “Yes, ‘Only through the help of another who truly cares can the lost prince escape his home of old.’”
He spoke like he was reciting something, though I didn’t know. Perhaps a prophecy his character came pre-downloaded with or something.
I felt myself frown as I echoed his words, “‘His home of old’?? Was this the old royal castle or something?”
Silver shook his head, the motion disturbing his hair so that it was laying more like it usually did rather than the way it had been carefully placed beforehand.
I let out a hum, abandoning my questions about this story’s plot in favor of focusing on the rest of what Silver had said.
Only through the help of another who truly cares.
It sounded suspiciously like an explanation for how to break a curse since most fairytales usually include some sort of way to save cursed individuals.
Though, admittedly, that usually involved a kiss. A thought that had me avoiding looking at Silver and instead staring out the open door.
After a brief moment, I glanced back over his way once more. At the very least, I did care about Silver. I had for quite some time now, even if I often did my best to avoid thinking about it in favor of not messing up the friendship we currently had.
But, since I cared, that meant that I should be able to get him out of this castle.
I smiled at him slightly and held out my hand, watching as he glanced down at my palm before he reached over and carefully took my hand in his and looked my way expectantly.
I held up our conjoined hands between us, “Trust me?”
A smile flickered across his face at my light teasing before he nodded, and I grinned, “Alright then….”
I trailed off as I lowered our hands and tightened my grip on his hand as I turned to face the door once more. I inhaled, bracing myself before taking a step forward with Silver at my side, following my motions perfectly and even matching my stride as he stepped forward with me.
And at first, there was a strange sensation of being engulfed. Almost like something was pressing in on us from all sides.
And then, as quickly as breathing, it was over, and we were outside. But we weren’t just outside the room. We were also outside the entire castle, and I found myself glancing behind us in surprise.
“I can’t believe it worked…” My words were barely muttered, but were wholly honest. I really had expected it to be harder to actually get him out of the castle.
I turned to look at Silver, only to feel myself go still as my gaze collided with his, and I saw the way he was smiling at me. With gentle fondness. Just like he had ever since I’d gotten to know him.
And though I’d already thought it, I couldn’t help but wonder at how he really was the perfect choice for a fairytale prince. Almost unfairly so.
“W- Well, I guess now all that’s left is to get you back home,” I managed a smile despite the way my voice wavered.
Something flickered in his gaze that bordered on amusement. Almost like he knew exactly what effect he had on me, but he didn’t say anything about it. Allowing me a small bit of dignity even as he squeezed my hand lightly, causing my eyes to widen as he spoke, “And to get both of us back to Twisted Wonderland.”
I blinked slightly before feeling a genuine smile stretch across my face and I nodded, “Yeah.”
I gazed at him for a brief moment longer, letting myself relax now that I wasn’t alone in this storybook and had him by my side. But then something shifted.
He noticed it at the same time I did, his gaze sharpening before he whirled. Putting me behind him as he reached over and grasped his sword.
I stepped closer to him, glancing around warily, “What's going on?”
He shook his head, his voice solemn and lacking all of the warmth it had just previously held when it had just been the two of us standing together, “I don’t know. Something’s wrong.”
His words were the only warning I was given before the world bled away into white, slowly absorbing everything else into it. The last thing I saw was Silver whirling to look back at me with a determined expression before even he disappeared from sight, and all of the whiteness that threatened to blind me turned black.
I twitched slightly, and then my eyes flew open as I inhaled sharply.
The first thing I really registered was Sebek’s voice bellowing “HUMAN!!” as Lilia leaned over me with an amused smile.
I blinked up at the fae in alarm as he titled his head, his eyes glittering with amusement, “Looks like you both made it home just fine.”
I almost frowned in confusion as my brain fought to slowly catch up to reality before I realized that we were in the school library. I shifted before freezing as I realized something was wrapped around my waist that shifted with me.
I slowly twisted, my eyes widening as I made eye contact with Silver, who smiled at me slightly in an almost apologetic fashion as I realized what, or rather, who, I was sitting on.
“Do you know how this story ends, Malleus? It is a Briar Valley classic, after all,” Lilia’s tone was beyond amused as he spoke from behind me.
I heard Malleus hum in response as I sat, frozen in mortified embarrassment, in Silver’s lap. And somehow, Malleus’s response just made it all the worse, “Of course, how could I not? ‘And so they lived happily ever after.’”

Fic writing questions
tagged by @yuniemaki - thank you for thinking of me!
how many works do you have on ao3?
67
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
344,183
Kind of wild to me, but the VAST majority of those words happened more than five years ago.
3. what fandoms do you write for?
Mostly The Sandman right now, although I'm still a Hannibal person and I think I feel some BG3 coming on eventually. I've meandered my way through various video game fandoms over the years and am likely to return to Pillars of Eternity. Rather less likely for the Bioware stuff, but maybe the upcoming DA game will, in a stunning subversion of my expectations, make me care about Dragon Age again.
I really enjoy the Yuletide fic exchange, so I write for whatever small fandom I get assigned that year (so far I've done Wayward Children, Left Hand of Darkness, and Goncharov), and I'm hoping to get more into exchanges.
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Constellations of the Things We Left Unsaid - multichapter Reaper76 thing I actually finished and was writing when Overwatch was popular
His Pale Steed - early Hannibal fic, I think it was my second
Best of Cruel Intentions - also earlyish Hannibal fic, and the start of my very excellent mutual betaing relationshihp with @tiggymalvern
Let's Try Another Kind of Peace - T_T WIP crawling out of the well to shame authorkind (also Hannibal. Yes, I still do have intent to get back to it.)
Solstice - Actually tickled and delighted this made the list; it's the second fic I ever posted to AO3, and it is Aela/F!Dovahkiin smut from the Skyrim kinkmeme back in the day
5. do you respond to comments?
A majority of the time, yes. Especially if I get a meaty one to actually talk about!
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
....yeah, not really any competition there, it's I Recall, which I wrote for a Pillars of Eternity minibang about my Watcher, Acantha's past-life doomed romance with Iovara.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'm not sure how to answer this one! I'm kinda all over the map in terms of the tone of the fics I write, and I don't know how to really differentiate between different happy endings.
But let's shout out You Sang Me of Some Distant Past (Dragon Age, F!Hawke/Morrigan, which canoe I will paddle until the end times) - this was my first ever big bang entry, and I'm still happy with it a decade later.
8. do you get hate on fics?
I think the closest thing to hate I've ever gotten was someone saying my Labyrinth fic had Sarah using too many big words in her head.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
My AO3's linked all over this post, you can just go look.
But uh, lot of D/s, lot of knifeplay, I think are the two big themes.
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?
I have written one (1) crossover! There's Someone Scratching Softly is a Hannibal/Wayward Children crossover where Jack Wolcott is in therapy with Hannibal. It's the leviathan shadow of a much larger AU Hannibal fic I've done a lot of brainstorming on, and I posted it on a whim one day (I hadn't originally intended to, when I wrote it) and was very pleased with that decision, because a few fans who know both canons came out of the woodwork to gush at me about it.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
No idea, but probably not; I don't write enough plotty epics to make it likely.
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I'm aware of. (A couple of delightful people have podficced some of my short Hannibal fics, though! I was very excited.)
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. Wouldn't completely rule it out as a possibility, but not something I've done date.
14. what's your all time favourite ship?
I don't really do all-time favorites? I do whatever I've got the most brainrot about currently. I don't have a good way of ranking favorite ships relative to one another!
15. what's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Relentless Splinters I Recall is the parent fic, sort of, to I Recall, which I mentioned above. It was a very ambitious idea and I love what's there, but I will be very surprised and impressed with myself if I manage to pick that thread back up at some point. I don't think I'm really cut out to do game novelization fic.
16. what are your writing strengths?
Economy's probably the biggest one; I know very well that I can get a lot done in a relatively small number of words. I also really enjoy writing dialogue and like to think I'm good at it.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
I'm not the kind of person who can spawn wild AUs or plotlines easily, and I often wish that I was. (I don't think I'm bad at plot, but if I'm writing something plotty there is a lot of very deliberate brainstorming and probably workshopping with a friend or two, and it takes a ton of effort.)
Also just, you know, getting words on the page. (It's hard! It's hard! It's really really haaaaard! ~*)
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I think anything from a curse word to a short phrase can have a place, but usually find it obnoxious when writers put in whole exchanges in (usually google translated) Other Language.
There was a post going around at some point discussing how bi/multilingual people do and don't mix languages that was very good and valid.
19. first fandom you wrote for?
Labyrinth (1986)
20. favorite fic you've written?
Oof, that's hard. Something, something, can't pick a favorite child.
However, with the caveat that I have a lot of favorites for a lot of reasons, the Goncharov fic I wrote for Yuletide 2023 still pleases me to an outsize degree. Sometimes I think I'm funny.
Tagging @tiggymalvern @stylishanachronism @firebatvillain @xenosimp @pragnificent @softdedue @the-bees-patella @dsudis and anyone else so inclined <3

☆ enfin, je me réveille masterlist
Tumblr media
☆ enfin, je me réveille: college au feat. eren jaeger x reader.
Tumblr media
☆ setting: modern day, year xx22, paradis city, autumn
☆ starring: eren jaegar, college senior (22) & y/n, college senior (21-22)
☆ feat. cameo appearances from: jean kirschtein, mikasa ackerman, armin arlert, connie springer, reiner braun, historia reiss, annie leonhart, sasha braus, zeke jaeger, & a few others.
☆ summary (of sorts): y/n is a broke college senior in desperate need of tutoring for chemistry and can’t afford to fail another class. eren jaegar is in the top 10% of their class, extremely standoffish, has an absurd amount of wealth to his name, and doesn’t have many that he considers friends. he’s your typical smart, cool, loner type that people inevitably want to befriend due to his magnetic persona, but he keeps them all at arm’s length due to issues from his past (he’s also just an ass in general). he finds himself begrudgingly intrigued by y/n and offers to tutor her in exchange for…certain favors. y/n is reluctant, but will do anything to make sure she passes. unbeknownst to them, there are bigger, more sinister things at play behind the scenes in the seemingly peaceful city of paradis.
☆ word count: currently at 20k.
Tumblr media
☆ contains: black fem reader, nsfw (18+ mdni), profanity, arguing, corrupt politics, blood money, solo masturbation (m & f, separately), alcohol consumption, drug use, blackmail, degradation/humiliation, overstimulation, nipple play, edging, public sex, a shit ton of angst (ur welcome), a gallon of smut (idk what to tell u), oral m. receiving, oral f. receiving, a lot of betrayal, plot twists galore, & violence (not sure how much, it’s all up in the air at this point tbh).
Tumblr media
☆ chapter 01 - conquest - (complete)
☆ chapter 02 - staccato - (complete)
☆ chapter 03 - acrimony - (complete)
☆ chapter 04 - subversive - (in progress)
☆ chapter 05 - lucent - (in progress)
☆ last updated: 08/27/22
Tumblr media
☆ hi hi! ₍⑅ᐢ..ᐢ₎ thanks for stopping by and hopefully you enjoy the story i’m crafting. i’m not sure how long this fic will be, it’s smth ambitious that i’m taking on, but i definitely will try to update it consistently (although, i am a little slow sometimes so bear with me). as i write, i’ll update the warnings list.
☆ if you want to be added to the taglist then you can drop a comment or send me a message and i’ll add you!
☆ as stated before, this is a college au/modern au fic; i try to keep as close to canon as possible with characterizations, and trying to incorporate part of the aot/snk lore into a modern world is a little tricky but i’m making it work i think.
☆ i have an idea of how i want this to end, but i don’t always stick to outlines so we’re all going to be in for a wild ride, u feel me; just know that it’s a dark romance w. a lot of drama, there isn’t going to be a happy ending (not in the traditional sense).
☆ taglist: strawhatsoraya, berriesandcrem, simpbutapimp, littlemochi

Saw the Avatar re-release. That movie is undeniably great and it making a billion dollars is in no way a fluke. Vfx from over a decade ago that still looks better than anything released since. A spectacle that demands you see it on the big screen. The moments of splendor and the giant battle scenes actually work on an emotional level, it doesn’t just blend into grey CGI mush like most superhero movies. Pandora is gorgeous. The robots are badass. James Cameron knows how to film compelling action scenes where the conflict is character-motivated and visually engaging, but also where the stakes feel real, where the geography, setpieces, and plot beats are easy to follow. If you make fun of this movie you’re a coward.
The script is absolutely not reinventing the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. It’s solid. Every time it wants you to feel an emotion, whatever that emotion may be, it succeeds. People who say it was just Pocahontas/Dances With Wolves in space are dumb. First of all, the sci fi elements are genuinely cool and unique. More importantly, James Cameron likes familiar crowd-pleasing stories with easily recognizable tropes BECAUSE they allow him to push the medium forward in other ways. The simplicity of the narrative makes the technological leaps and the visual storytelling more impactful. And do you really want a Hollywood movie about space colonialism to be more dark and nuanced and subversive??? I don’t!! I like that there’s no attempt at any kind of “both sides” bullshit. Colonialism is evil. The military industrial complex is evil. Starship Troopers still exists. If you want something more smug and satirical and enjoy feeling kinda gross afterwards, go watch that. If you just wanna watch space marines getting their shit kicked in, and see the indigenous alien population being framed as straightforwardly heroic and righteous, watch this. Maybe it hasn’t left the cultural footprint we’d expect, but so what? Not every story’s success has to be measured in memes and ao3 fics. The film changed the industry forever. The sequel is gonna slap too bc when Cameron swings, he doesn’t miss. His track record is flawless.
My one critique is that the Na’vi are a liiiittle too human looking. I think u could make them a bit weirder and still have them be sexy. Just dial up the weirdness by like 15%. Also the 3D kinda gave me a headache

speaking of "spite" content, I'm also seeing more and more fans shipping joe and/or nicky with women TOG characters and it reeks of anti-gay spite wrapped in "hehe i'm being quirky and against the grain of what's popular in fandom!" bullshit. what the hell is wrong w people and these weird agendas???
I can't say I have seen that, I haven't been in the TOG tags here or on ao3 in a while, but I see where you're coming from. I think there are some really iffy backlash type trends in fandom (generally, not TOG in particular as I don't know what's going on there) that come into play with a "break up the gay couple to make room for a woman trope":
1. One big fandom complaint is that women are often sidelined. Soooo making a woman a main character at the expense of a canon gay couple is progress, riiiiiight?
2. Literally people just not understanding the word "subversion" like "ooooh i am subverting fandom trends by breaking up the canon gay couple and writing something super heteronormative instead"
And what it reveals underneath is basically just homophobia
At the same time though, I am very hesitant to discount all fics that feature Joe and Nicky in pairings with women.
For me, there is some nuance there that I can see: some people headcanon Joe and/or Nicky as bi (mostly Joe, and we could have a whole convo about the implications of that because IMO it tends to come from an implicit place of "bi men are more masc than gay men and Joe is masc while Nicky is fem-coded in fic therefore if either of them is bi then Joe", which, yikes), in which case I can see ppl shipping them with someone else in a threesome sense or in a "relationships had prior to meeting each other sense" and I have in fact read a lot of great character pieces about the latter
I can also envision things like a super fucked up emotionally dark fic where Joe and Nicky fight over whether to keep searching for Quynh, separate over it for a while, and one of them has a misguided bad idea of a something with Andy, both believing they will never see their lover again. And in this case I actually do think it is a great chance to make good, heartbreaking Andy content, of which this fandom does not have enough
There is of course the argument that I believe Greg Rucka once described them both as gay rather than bi; fandom opinions tend to vary a lot as to whether word of god is canon or not. Personally I go by schroedinger's author and ignore everything I don't like. Based on that I am pretty lenient with how people choose to interpret that kind of statement.
What I am saying in the end i guess is that ppl can write Joe and Nicky with female characters in all sorts of constellations for all sorts of reasons, but it is a tricky thing to do justice and really rarely something I would enjoy as porn for porn's sake BC it would have to walk such a delicate line to be enjoyable and not problematic to me

new anon, feel free to delete if you don't wanna keep talking about this lmao
while i understand the appeal of noncon fics, especially in relationship to darker kinks (essentially allowing you to enjoy it without feeling guilty about being into weirder kinks lmao) I really don't like it with actual canon characters for the reasons you said. So often it's just wildly out of character and edgy for the sake of being edgy lol
i personally feel noncon falls into the category of dark kinks that can be safely explored in fiction, but of course no one has to enjoy it or want to see it
Yah I understand What people get out of it and I do believe that for a lot of people it's cathartic, and ultimately what other people do doesn't affect me and fiction is one of the best, healthiest ways to work thru something like that. However when ur posting something publicly, especially fan content with canon characters, you need to be aware of how other people will react to that and be conscious about how what is cathartic for your trauma is extremely likely to trigger someone else's. I also really do believe, based on experience, that at least a good percentage of "dark" or "taboo" fan content (rape, incest, pedophilia) is made by people who think they're soooo subversive and edgy for it and want attention even if it's negative (for example, I don't think anyone who's into scou/tspy is actually into it bc it's cathartic for their trauma lmao I know those people it's bc they think they're such an edgy boy they're a bit of a twisted psychopath a little too hardcore for ya)
Overall this is a really complicated conversation and definitely not one to be lead by a Team Fortress 2 comedy blogger but I do understand and I'm not trying to unfairly demonize anyone. However I'm going to draw a boundary now - I don't enjoy talking about "noncon", it's not fun for me the way talking about other kinks is, and I am going to ask that no one tries to discuss it with me further. If anything, it is not my place to discuss it

I saw a cool Ask Game and decided to ask myself (and then answer) all the questions as an exercise in brevity for a treat.
What's a trope you want to explore this year?
I don’t think much about tropes unless I’m actively breaking them, but I am considering playing around with the soulmates trope in a yet-to-be-published Jujutsu Kaisen WIP. Maybe because I’m both ace and polyam, I Have Complex Feelings about both of these tropes and seek to explore them through subversion.
Is there a fic you hope to finish this year?
Many of them, hopefully 😅 In 2021, I posted an OPM / My Hero Academia crossover where Garou attends UA (“be the trouble you wish to see in the world.”) I want to publish an additional story where Garou fights Tokoyami at Sports Day, BUT Garou is nearly disqualified for trying to teach Dark Shadow to fetch. I would also like to type up my Les Mis fic (tentatively titled “joly and Combeferre and zombies”) before I lose it, which is always a concern with handwritten drafts.
Is there anything new you want to try with your writing? A new genre? Style of writing?
A TV script! When you apply to write for a television show, you typically submit a fanfic script for a current sitcom (also known as a “spec script”) and a script for your own original pilot. I’ve decided my spec script will be for What We Do in the Shadows. I’m not an active member of the fandom, but I do love the show. silly/spooky has always been my jam 👻
If you write fanfiction, is there a fandom you haven't written for that you want to this year? Are you going to try?
See above! (What we do in the shadows). Also maybe I will get around to publishing some of my Bungo Stray Dogs stuff
Is there a ship you haven't written for that you're going to try to write for this year?
I’d love to try writing more x Reader stuff! But I’m also nervous about it. I’m curious if there are more people like me that enjoy fics with intimacy but not necessarily sex. I had a lot of fun with Trolling for Soup (Jujutsu Kaisen) which was my Gojo Satoru x Reader story—Gojo tries to make soup. That’s it. That’s the plot.
Is there a trope you're going to leave behind?
I don’t think so, because that’s hard for me to answer. I think about the characters and the story first before I consider what trope it might fit into.
Is there a ship you're going to leave behind?
Doubtful! I have some ideas I’m not sure I’ll get to, but it’s very much a “this isn’t goodbye, I’ll see you later” sort of thing.
Is there any projects you're starting this year?
Define “start” 🤣 — most of my ideas marinate for in my head for awhile before I publish.
This year, I decided to apply for writing fellowships and social work programs, and then leave the rest up to God. I have a few derivative works from pieces currently in public domain (The Sun Also Rises, The Monkey’s Paw but make it Zoom calls) and I’d love to get some funding or something to work on those in a more serious / professional way.
Overall id like to be more aware of the resources that exist for aspiring writers
Is there a fandom you won't be writing for anymore?
I don’t think so—if I don’t write for a fandom for a period of time, it’s usually due to time constraints (like I wasn’t able to publish anything for Jujutsu Kaisen or Bungo Stray Dogs this year, even though I made significant progress on drafts). But I’m also challenging myself to write shorter, more imperfect pieces as opposed to laboring over chapters for months or literal years, as I’ve done before
Do you have a goal for this year for your writing? Any word count? A genre you want to mark off?
I’d love to publish one fic per month without it getting in the way of adulting.
What story you think will become your most popular this year?
If I publish the next bit of the Garou / MHA crossover, I anticipate it will be the most popular primarily due to fandom size. If I recall correctly, my hero academia is one of the most popular fandoms on ao3 (it’s certainly one of the most popular anime / mangas right now!).
If you haven't created any, will you create any OCs? Will you create more OCs?
Inevitably, yes! Ocs make the world go ‘round.
Will you participate in any challenges this year?
Do fandom events count? I will almost certainly do wanpanmas again, and whumptober if time. I do not think I will attempt to combine whumptober and flufftober again, though. That damned near killed me. It was a ton of fun though!
Book covers, are you going to try making book covers?
No, although if I manage to finish a longfic I will certainly commission some art as a treat 😆 as much as I’d love to get back to drawing, this is probably not the year for that to happen
Will you be taking any requests this year?
I’m always open to requests, especially if they are gen / platonic. I’d be open to making them spicier if it’s for a rarepair or coming from someone who doesn’t typically see themselves represented in self-inserts, but that would probably be a dialogue.
If someone expresses interest in a current WIP—it can bump an existing idea up the queue, so to speak. But my best and most joyful works are always those I write for other people.
What's a trope you know you're not going to write for this year?
I have characters that tend to get hurt a lot and then refuse to be comforted, so I’m tempted to say H/C, haha.
But who knows. I feel like I have absolutely no say over what my characters do, haha. Never say never! 😉
Any AUs you want to try this year?
Not really, but I’d love to finish everything’s pushing up daisies (flower shop mafia AU, Jujutsu Kaisen fic). this is the story that combined all the flufftober and whumptober prompts and also almost killed me.
Any authors you hope to collab with this year?
The ghost of Herman Melville (jk). But I’ll collaborate with anyone, really! I’m generally happy to work with other people who want to work with me.
What's a struggle in your writing you're going to overcome this year?
Working too long on a piece without taking a step back to understand what’s broken about it. Getting caught in small descriptive details when the issue is the core foundation
Freebie question! {Be sure to ask the question!}
What other fannish things are you working on?
I am hoping to apply to run some panels at AnimeMidwest that will be interactive and least a little performative in nature—ex: Bereavement group for people who have lost characters, support group for reluctant/accidental anime dads, “my blorbo has never done anything wrong, ever.” And if I’m brave, maybe I’ll do another stand-up set!

Deep asks: 16 and 18?
(answered 18 in prev post)
16: Do you re-read old fics? Is there a time in your writing you won’t go back to?
I love reading old fics. I am my own intended audience, and will often go back to read my favorite parts, etc (either in published works or in fics I never completed.) That said, it's been a long time since I re-read bright as the stars are dark. During the year it took me to write it, I was convinced that Finnrey was going to become canon, and writing a "what if the worst versions of them ended up in a toxic relationship" AU felt interesting and subversive, but now it mostly just reminds me of the reasons why I fell out of love with Star Wars. There are still parts of the writing I enjoy, but Finn's character arc was fucked up so badly by the actual writers that reading an AU where I fuck up his character arc for ~angst~ purposes just...doesn't land the same.

do you know of any fics where there’s a pregnancy scare or Draco accidental gets hermione pregnant?
Tumblr media
Dramione Unplanned Pregnancy Fic Recs
Hi Nonnie, Sorry it has taken me soooo long to reply to this ask. To answer your question, yes I have a few (76) “accidental”/unplanned pregnancy Dramione fic recs to offer - because Draco and Hermione seem terrible at planning pregnancies. So I’ve broken this down into ones I’ve read & recommend and ones on my TBR you might want to give a try. I also categorized the fics into Teenage Pregnancies, Wartime Pregnancies, “Adult Draco and Hermione forget contraceptive” Pregnancies, Marriage Law Pregnancies and “Hidden” Pregnancies. So here is the ultimate guide to Dramione Accidental Pregnancy Fics, hopefully there is something on this list that will satisfy your ask. Happy Reading!
Teenage Unplanned Pregnancy:
Recommended Fics
Snow Storm by kblynne
8th year Post-war healing coping, Head Boy and Head Girl, teenage pregnancy.
Always Mine - A Dramione Fanfiction by SamadiW
8th year, Head Boy and Head Girl. The unplanned pregnancy is more of a secondary/later arc. Main arc on development of relationship between Hermione and Draco. Mixes the right amount of angst with the right amount of sexy.
Fics on my TBR that you might want to try:
From Venice with Love by jamieblye
In Private by acro acro
Locked In by goldhorse
His Sweet Dream by Supernerd22
I Didn’t Know by TriDogMom
Of All the Idiot Things by Lady Imara
Unbreakable by cleotheo
What Happened After The Canaries by Silver Lioness
Wartime Unplanned Pregnancy
Recommended Fics
Broken Chains by Leave It At That
Another Dramione, where Harry and Ron escape, but Hermione is left behind. As Draco and Hermione are forced together by a very perverted characterization of Voldemort, they realize they must rely on and trust each other to survive Voldemort’s demands. Forming a tentative trust and rare magical bond, together they set about playing the roles expected of them until they can find escape.
Resistance by GracefulLioness @graceful-lioness
Very well written, 7th year divergent. Instead of spending the war camping with Harry and Ron, Hermione spends it camping with Draco after they escape a battle together.
The Importance of Breeding by Jessiy  @jessiyl
Interesting twist on “what both sides of the war decide to do about the dwindling wizarding population”. Voldemort comes up with a “perfect mate” spell - guess who Draco’s perfect mate is?
Manor of Conception by psiphifan
Harry and Ron, escape without Hermione. As punishment to the Malfoy’s for letting Potter get away, Draco is given Hermione to “breed”, thereby sullying his pure blood line. As dark as the set up is, Draco and Hermione adjust to their predicament quite adeptly. A “wartime subversion” read that hurts a bit … but climaxes a lot).
Fics on my TBR that you might want to try:
The Gift of Joy by biscuitsforpotter @biscuitsforpotter
I Spy by gnrkrystle
The Power of Love by cleotheo
The Edge of the World by phlox
Balaur by two_ff
Tergeo by LadyKenz347 @ladykenz347
Consequences of War by NJ Coffee Queen
The Letter by RN2017
Haeres Genitus: The Begotten Heir by little miss moonlight
“Adults who forgot a contraceptive” - Future fic Unplanned Pregnancies
Recommended Fics
Precious Things by herbeautifullie @herbeautifullies
Beautifully told in a series of vignettes that take place every Christmas over a number of years. The author conveyed and developed Draco’s introspection as he falls in love with a family he never expected or wanted. Well written, emotional character/relationship study.
Liking by Ladyoneill
An adult affair between Draco and Hermione leads to adult conversations (with some input from Narcissa).
Fics on my TBR you might want to try:
A Year and a Day by Mistrus
Best Laid Plans by persephone_stone @persephonestone
Careless by wish123
A Series of Very Bad Decisions by damnedscribblingwoman @fearsometinywit
Unexpected Gifts by cryptaknight

Back to You by NJ Coffee Queen @mnem85
Circle by wanderlustfaery
Freedom’s Consequence, Rapture’s Reward by CelticSass
Marriage Law (but still unplanned) Pregnancy
I read and recommend all three fics in this sub-genre:
Desperate Marriage by x.Chrissy.x
Nice twist on the Marriage Law trope. After breaking up with their current fiancés when they find them cheating (Ron x Astoria), instead of letting the Ministry choose their spouses for them, they choose each other. Note: I don’t want to give spoilers away, but I think it should be noted that though it’s not tagged, be aware that a couple loses a pregnancy in this. As someone who has lost a pregnancy before, I was not put off by how it is handled, but found it emotional and relatable. There is an HEA and there is a happy healthy pregnancy and I did enjoy the fic completely even the emotional part.
Ninety-Five Percent by HufflePuffMommy @hufflepuffmommy
Draco and Hermione are 95% compatible - who would have thought? ;) I really enjoyed this marriage law fic - has courting quality to it, through all the tension and angst (and denial).
An Unconventional Escape by Ariel Riddle @ariel-riddle
Loved this twist on the “marriage law”. Voldemort has won and his wizarding world is facing population problems due to infertility of purebloods. He enacts a new law that purebloods can choose captive muggleborns as spouses. The only muggleborn for Draco is Hermione - and she’s suspicious, but clever enough to figure out his dastardly persona is more pretense for show.
Secret Child/Hidden pregnancy trope: Not only was the pregnancy an accident, it was kept a secret from Draco.
Recommended Fics
Amongst the Mango Trees by ViolaMoon @violamoonfanfic
Post-war, while in a happy affair with Draco, Hermione discovers his family has him engaged to Astoria, hours after she finds out she’s pregnant. She decides to leave and start over in Australia with her parents.
Breathe by RZZMG @rzzmg
In spite of a loving affair with Hermione, Draco feels obligated to see through his engagement with Astoria. But when he runs into a pregnant Hermione months after they break-up, he must dig deep to be his own man and not his father’s.
Seven for a Secret by Musyc @willhavetheirtrinkets
Anonymous sex during Beltane, has Draco putting pieces together when he encounters an 8 year old spitting image of himself.
Unspoken Words by LilithShade @lilithshadefanfic
Post-war, Future fic. Hermione and Draco have a one night stand. Nine months later, Hermione shows up at St. Mungo’s in labor. Draco is the doctor on duty.
Always You by Emerald2402
When there is trouble in paradise between Ron and Hermione, Draco just happens to be in the right place at the right time with a shoulder for her to cry on. A couple years later, the child she brings to St. Mungo’s with a fever, bears a striking resemblance to him.
The Trouble with Love Series by bentnotbroken1 @bentnotbroken1fanfiction
8th year Hogwarts setting. Accidental pregnancy is secondary arc, post-war coping/healing and Dramione affair primary arc. Note that the first in the series: The Pitfall is complete, but the second in the series is still a WIP (as of time of post 11/2020).
Fics on my TBR you might want to try:

[I've just come to this fic, and I know from your other work you write a Loki who is a person. This is what I want to see, not woobified Loki or Loki who can do no wrong. Write him for better, write him for worse, but write him as a person and I am here for it.]
This was a much-needed comment on a WIP I'd abandoned many years ago. There's a lot of drama and frankly, stupidity, surrounding this particular fic, and what ultimately resulted in bullying at the end caused me to nuke almost my entire social media presence and quit fandom as a whole for years.
Recently, I came back to fandom when I realised that some collateral damage from this fic was that another one never got its final chapter posted. The chapter sat completed and edited on my iPad for literal years, but I had forgotten about its existence until I was cleaning out Scrivener files. I uploaded that chapter, and decided the series it belonged to was harmless enough, and never got a lot of flak, so why not continue it?
Then I looked back on my AO3 account, which survived my social media purge only because of the 1,000,000+ words I'd committed to it over nearly two decades of writing fic. I didn't want to lose that, so the account was the only thing that stayed.
And I found this fic. This 80,000 word fic with over 40 chapters, fully outlined and planned out, but abandoned. This is a fic that harkens back to LJ and Yahoo! Groups, where darkfic was a little bit sinister, but taken at face value. In this new era of fandom, I found myself constantly arguing with people in my comments about how honestly, there wasn't any subversion here. The ugly themes and violent content are as they are, meant to be enjoyed in secret at 3am in a dark room. It's not about love, lust, and paradise. But people argued with me over how it was, and how I apparently misunderstood my own fic. It got to be too much, and I just quit everything.
But I love this fic. The goofy shenanigans and hijinks that is all my other fic for this fandom are fun, but this trash novel disaster of an idfic is the one I took some of the most enjoyment from in writing. I didn't want it to sit forever abandoned at 80,000 words, and 2/3 in. So I came back to it, and posted the next chapter five years later today. I hit submit, and for the first time in my entire life, felt anxious and ill over something I'd submitted to the internet. Depravity is my bread and butter, and I've become nervous and skittish over it.
But this comment here. This one right here, in just a few simple yet elegant lines, provided so much validation that I didn't know I'd been craving.
I'm still moderating the hell out of the comments on this one, but it's finally going to get finished. Maybe then it can stop living rent-free in my brain.

My SamBucky Fantasy AU Masterlist
So, I've been thinking about posting a series of masterlists for a while, since I've sort of been accruing a variety of fics lately, so I thought I'd start with my SamBucky Fantasy AUs 🥰
Tumblr media
So, HERE IS THE LIST, BY LENGTH:
Tumblr media
1) Golden is the Sun (M, 41,221) - "Sam has seven days to find a spouse out of hundreds of suitors before he becomes king. He has no clue how he's going to choose a spouse, let alone run a city-state. But at least he's not the biggest mess at this week-long event. That title goes to the very entertaining James Buchanan 'Bucky' Barnes."
Golden is the Sun is the beginning of my "If We Are Celestial Bodies" series and just a really fun story filled with elaborate outfits and sublime forces of nature, all wrapped up in a subversion of the Arranged Marriage AU. Some might even call it a Democracy AU 😂
It's sequel, Vibrant is the Moon, is a touch more serious in tone, but is also great, and the series also has a retelling of one of the folktales I made for it called "The Merman and the Baker" as well as a series of ongoing side stories that didn't fit within the piece called "Orbiting Satellites". It really is a fun universe 🥰
2) His Wingless Angel (M, 21,714) - "Sam Wilson found the most peculiar thing in the forest under his floating city: a wingless man."
His Wingless angel is an expansion of a ficlet I wrote for SamBucky Halloween 2021 called "The Wingless Stranger". It's a blend of retro future ideas and Hayao Miyazaki fantasy that tells the story of 1940s Bucky falling into a different universe rather than being captured by HYDRA and how his relationship with Sam grows as he stays in that world.
It's a sweet, wondrous tale about a man learning how to live in a new land and two people falling in love.
3) Passing Through (M, 1,381) - Mysterious Conjurer Bucky washes up on the shore of Sam's home island of Delacroix. Sam realizes what he's been missing in his life - adventure - and decides to go with Bucky and his ominous friend Steve to face off with dark forces threatening the world.
I'm planning on expanding this one at some point into a full-on piece, possibly calling the expansion "The Alchemist Coast", but Passing Through was originally created for the Samtember 2021 event going on under the prompt "Fireflies".
It's a short ficlet filled with mystery, magic, and slice of life moments.
4) Oh, Siren Song (M, 1,179) - The tale of Siren!Sam encountering Pirate!Bucky.
This one I'm definitely thinking about expanding into something a little longer, maybe just a miniseries, but it was also created for the Samtember 2021 event under the prompt "wings" since older myths involving sirens described them as birdlike and with wings.
It's a fun, little goofy story, that ends on a sweet note 🥰
I'll probably do an updated version of this at some point, but these are all my Fantasy AUs thus far! I hope you enjoy them! 🥰

It just seems really flat? And cliche? Rio feels like he’s falling way back into the Latin criminal stereotype with a resurging hint of Latin Lover~ and i don’t love that. I just feel like it’s weird that he’s narratively punished when he isn’t an active love interest for Beth
You’ve put my exact jumbled thoughts into words. They also barely acknowledge the fact he’s Latinx. Except those 2 words of spanish he spoke in S3. That’s why I love your fics so much. You’re always showing a more layered version of him 💕
Thank you!!! Looking at the character roles is really helpful to me even if it’s hella fatiguing. I was hopeful that by now there would be a better standard of representation for Latinx characters on-screen across film and tv.
A digression on the character stereotypes:
Charles Ramírez Berg published Latino Images in Film: Stereotypes, Subversion and Resistance in 1990 — it’s a foundational text of Latinx-American film theory/critique. In it, he explores his theory that there are six stereotypical roles that any Latinx characters in classic Hollywood and in the 70s and 80s can fit into.
1. The “Bandito”/The Criminal (the criminalized, dangerous, lawless Latino — in Good Girls this is Rio and Mick)
2. The Harlot (the sexualized, ~spicy Latina, think Salma Hayek in any role she’s ever been in)
3 & 4. The Male Buffoon and the Female Clown (Latinx folks characterized as dumb and comedic relief, think Gael Garcia Bernal in his American roles or like anything with George Lopez. For ladies, I feel like it’s usually a Latina who is gorgeous and dumb)
5. The Latin Lover (this specifically refers to the sexualization of Latinx men and the fetishization of the sexual experience they can provide for white women — Rio in Good Girls)
6. The Dark Lady (mysterious, traumatized and/or sad women that are visual foils to white female characters — I would argue Rhea could fall into this stereotype).
I’m not a huge film theory nerd but I do appreciate Ramirez-Berg’s framework. It’s somehow both absurdly salient and also antiquated (it’s literally older than me). More recent Latinx film critique has argued that it’s missing the stereotypes more relevant in film post-90s/post-NAFTA/post-waves of 80s-era immigration:
7. The Immigrant
8. The Servant/The Maid
Rio very easily falls into the stereotype of the Latinx Criminal. As his storyline progressed through the end of Season 1 onwards to Season 2, his character began to occupy a hybrid-role of Criminal/Latin Lover, too.  I would say as of 4x03, he’s at about 95% Criminal,  5% Lover. Hahahah, I guess I don’t need to break it down into percentages but I would say he still occupies a hybrid-stereotype.
I think the word “stereotype” is universally understood as bad. But, just a reminder that stereotypes are redundant, problematic, harmful for lots of different reasons across race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and other identities -- it lands differently depending on what we’re talking about. However, a common consequence of a stereotype is that it perpetuates power dynamics for the sake of saving time or as a placeholder for on-screen characterization. For Latinx representation a common harm is lack of on-screen commitment to a character’s background — it means that Latinx end up reading as racially ambiguous and lack cultural specificity.
Despite falling into stereotypes, Rio’s characterization on Good Girls is still net positive for me. Yes, it’s an old fucking line, but I do love that Rio is a crime boss. I also ~mostly? enjoy his toxic relationship with Beth (idk this is more contentious, but I am obviously a huge a shipper!). I think this is because despite the limitations of what is written in the scripts, Manny Montana does an incredible job of bringing nuance to the character. There are pieces of Rio that just read as so subversive to me -- like that he’s wicked smart and that he’s a good dad (sometimes).
But, at this point in time, having just watched 4x03, I am feeling the fatigue of this ongoing problem of shitty Latinx characterization. Good Girls should do better. I’m holding out hope because there’s the promise that ~soon~ we’re going to meet a whole bunch of Latinx folks on the show??? We’re going to see his family? In this fourth glorious season, we are finally going to build out his character? We will actually learn more about his motivations? WILD.
I just-- y’all— I am holding out judgment until we see it. I feel like 90% of what I like about Rio has been willed into existence through Manny Montana’s personal headcanons and acting choices. I would love for this show to do more to earn my trust.

Plz let Airplane be EVEN MORE Awesome - Fic Rec Part Duo
*Stares at all the notes my last post got* Nice to know we are all just as Thirsty for the good boi as Mobei-Jun is.
So Thus, I have decided to make another! (Smashes the post button) Since there was a lot, I just decided to make another post.
here we go kids, more of that good Airplane love... alongside that good quality Moshang because I am biased~
(Plz share if you find more!)
a cup of vinegar, a spoon of sugar by Shamelesscooper - “Your timing certainly is impeccable, my lord,” Wei Wuxian groans, rubbing his back. “What brings you here for the second time in as many nights…?” “I left my cloak,” Mobei-Jun says, shooting Wei-Wuxian a dirty look as the bird demon shrugs his robe back on.“You certainly did!” Shang Qinghua exclaims, crossing his arms quite crossly. “You can’t just leave your things everywhere, my king!” Mobei-Jun’s hard stare refocuses on Shang Qinghua, and he can’t help but shrink back, hurriedly rummaging around in his qiankun pouch for the offending garment. As soon as Shang Qinghua finds it, Mobei-Jun takes it from his hands and throws it over his shoulders, breathing in a deep sigh as if it relieved him to have it there again. If you miss it so much, why did you even leave it behind?! Shang Qinghua almost wants to say, but he is quite fond of his head, actually, and would rather Mobei-Jun not take it off his shoulders, thankyouverymuch.
--Shang Qinghua is tasked with escorting the leader of the Yiling Carrion Tribe to Gusu, and it'd be fine if only Mobei-Jun would stop poking his (gorgeous, beautiful, drop-dead handsome) head in!
*Evil grin* here we have a delicious rare side of Jealous Mobei, Shang Qinghua doing something that most MDZS fans dream of doing once, and a side of shamelessness from our favorite ‘Lovebirds’ XD Not to mention how steamy it gets~
-
You Will Never Step Lightly In The Dark by Janusoverlord - Shang Qinghua wakes up in the aftermath of Tianlang-Jun's rampage on Cang Qiong Mountain and has to navigate the delicate political situation he now finds himself in. Luo Binghe is building a harem with Shen Qingqiu as his first, and honestly most terrifying, husband. Yet, Luo Binghe seems to be turning his eyes to Shang Qinghua as a possibility as well. Excuse you? What is this? He didn't sign up for this!
Okay, make sure you read the tags kiddies because uhhh, this has some themes to it. It is also part of a series as well, but I read it stand alone and it does good with how it explains things; as it is...
Let me just say, Luo Binghe does not know what he just got into; all mortals will bow to the might of our lord Airplane! I really did like this and I am tentatively on the fence about reading the rest of the series, because the writing is so damn good but we will see how my ship cravings twist.
-
With Ink and Sword by xnemone - Shang Qinghua is appropriately nervous when he passes the Imperial Exams only to be assigned not to the Emperor’s palace, but to the barren lands ruled by a lord known to be as ruthless as he is cold. Although his friend and confidant Shen Qingqiu gives him a sympathetic smile and a mountain of furs before he sets off, Shang Qinghua feels less than reassured. He expects ridicule, a harsh regime, even rejection. What he does not expect is for Mobei-Jun to take one look at him among all the scholars and servants of his palace, and proclaim him his.
Now, this is such a good story, I love it, is makes me feel happy and squishy inside with the good Moshang, and you know what? It has my new favorite thing in the world!
Shang Qinghua calls Cucumber bro out! AND IT IS GLORIOUS!!! (Seriously, why does this not happen more often?)
-
Good Vibrations by Feynite -  In Shang Qinghua’s defense, this whole trope was originally something he’d only ever written in for Sha Hualing, for precisely one scene.
In which I actually feel ashamed for forgetting such a treasure. Like, Feynite is a wonderful wordsmith, invoking so many thoughts and good shit with their words and characters, and by god do I end up just loving them even more then before.
This story passes the Vibe Check! (Luo Binghe also gets a Vibe Check~)
-
From Your Perspective by cozycitywitch - It was nothing more than a curse, probably, and surly the witch doctor could fix it? So what else was Shang Qinghua to do inside Mobei Jun's body until the end of the night? He couldn't be blamed for his curiosity! He was only a man! Or the one where Moshang switch bodies and Shang Qinghua can't help himself.
Now, this is a lovely, spicy lime where while there is no big action or technical awesomeness going on, it does have some wonderful images; Shang Qinghua’s hamster body with the aura of a king, him showing off being intimating which means Shang Qinghua can indeed be scary, it is something that could happen if he has the motivation for it.
Not to mention this is just a hot story all around~ (My kingdom’s for My King’s POV on this~)
-
ham hunt by jets_adjacent - There's a wolf at Shang Qinghua's heels and his only thought is: Northern mating rituals are a pain in the ass.
This is a really, really good A/B/O fic; it also shows just how tricky and sneaky our Shang Qinghua can be, as well as a mischievous side I just love seeing in our favorite Peak Lord. And let’s not forget the spicy goodness of this fic, which is really tasty~ (And can I get a shout out for consent and negotiated kinks!)

In which healthy relationship skills are forcibly brought into Proud Immortal Demon Way by two bros by Rafaela271412421 -  Look, if no one is going to give these people friends and healthy relationships then by GOD, I WILL do it myself! It's about two bros bringing healthy relationships into PIDW both intentionally and not. Gods and deities, accidental and not, will also be included. Also, it's in bullet point format, so you’ve been warned.
ahahahahaahhahahahaahaha! I love this fucking outline/bullet points presentation, it is something I always end up going back to and giggling like an idiot. The is really a healing piece, my crops have been watered, my face is clear, and Airplane and Cucumber Bros go completely feral~ I love it, I want to propose marriage~

trinkets for a king by jets_adjacent - Shang Qinghua gives many extraordinary gifts to his King. His King finally catches on. --aka: Mobei Jun has never been courted by a human before.
So, this is a wonderful subversion of the ‘Mobei-Jun courts/plans his wedding to Shang Qinghua all the while said man is unaware’. like, it is so cute and I love jelly Airplane; it gives me life. Also, one of the few we see Airplane taking full advantage of all his author knowledge and using it for the devious plans~
-
The Southern King and The North Star by Luuplup - A series of meetings between the Southern King and a cultivator. The happy moments, the romantic moments, the sad moments.
Another really cute Role Reversal I find I greatly enjoy, with a very competent, beloved Lord Demon!Airplane :D it makes me happy when I read it, I end up wanting to hug something~ It seems like it will be a slow burn, what with our favorite moronsexuals, but oh is it delicious seeing the buildup~
-
under a wicked star by tagteamme - Caught unaware, Mobei Jun is kidnapped for leverage. On the eighth day, Mobei Jun is broken out of his trance by the sound of something being tossed into his pit. It’s a lot lighter than what they throw food down in. He realizes that today, he is not tied down. When he moves off the bed, he does not need the canopy post to support his weight as he stands up. The object on the floor glints in the firelight, and Mobei Jun crouches to pick it up. His face is immoving; slowly, he turns the An Ding peak lord crown in his hand, looking at the blood-soaked metal through the light.
SQH to the rescue! Alongside some good old fashioned angsty Moshang miscommunication but with Mobei-Jun’s POV this time, and some absolutely good steamy good times for all XD
-
we seal our fate by ketolic (corrose) - All things considered, it really was sort of obvious. Hey! Anyone can be a genius in retrospect. Hindsight is 20/20! Besides, who can blame him! He'd never written about this facet of Mobei Jun's life before! Still...considering all the times he'd gotten his hands on Mobei Jun's sealskin, he's sort of shocked that it took him so long to figure it out.
:D This story makes me giggle uncontrollably, and still finds ways to unexpectedly stab me in the heart. I love it! Not to mention we get to see SQH be awesome! Sure, he flails around as he does it, but busts out the fighting moves and even fits a rescue in there! So good, so in character, I love every watery moment of this fic... good thing I’m so thirsty- (Is shot)
-----
But yeah! These are some more good stories I found, some a bit more- urrrr- thirstier then others~ you can find the first thing of Fic Recs Here! And Plz, share more awesome Airplane whenever you have a chance~

the language of flowers | an akaashi x gn!reader fic
Tumblr media
hey dino!! could i request a short fluffy fic about someone having a crush on akaashi and works part time in a flower shop? they start leaving him flowers with meanings behind them and a letter anonymously on his desk in school. eventually, they get caught and confesses to him?? im a sucker for flower shop aus and i'd love to see what kind of flowers you would use!!  ٩(●˙▿˙●)۶…⋆ฺ -🍙
-- ahhh this request was so fun to write !! i planned it a while ago and just wrote it all down in one sitting hehe. i hope you like this !!
pairing: akaashi keiji x gn!reader
word count: 2k words
contains: fluff !!, lots of flowers and their meanings, hints at a mystery novel night, high school au
summary: akaashi keiji has been receiving flowers from a ‘mystery florist’ (aka, you) for quite a whole. except, he might be crushing on someone else.
a/n: requested by the amazing onigiri-anon !! i really wanted this to be more of a full-length fic because of how cute it is so i hope you guys enjoy it !!
the first flowers akaashi had received from you were twin alstroemerias: one in orange and one in white. he actually had no idea what the flowers’ names were because he had never seen any quite like it. both of the flowers had three main petals and three smaller petals closer to the center that had dark little stripes on them. the white one had a slight touches of pink and yellow in the very center.
akaashi saw the two flowers, wrapped in a pink satin ribbon, on his desk one day after class had ended. it was a few days after finals had ended and he was still feeling bitter loss that hit the volleyball team. but, the sight of the flowers: bright and fresh and sunny, put a little smile on his face.
when he was at home, he decided to look up what the flowers were. it took a great deal of searching through ‘flower pictures’ on google images for him to actually find the name: alstroemeria, also known as peruvian lily. and, because he was curious as to why there would be flowers on his desk, he looked up whether there was a meaning behind the flower.
white alstroemerias meant ‘concern for a loved one who isn’t feeling well’ and orange ones were ‘working towards ones goals.’ akaashi smiled and placed the flowers in a jar full of water on his desk. he didn’t know who it was, but there was someone out there looking out for him.
...
“afternoon, akaashi.”
“afternoon, y/n,” akaashi greeted, sitting down on the table next to you. as usual, you were the first two people in the clubroom. that was mostly because your other members of the literature club were freshmen who volunteered for a ton of other clubs but akaashi didn’t exactly mind. he liked your company.
“another gerbera?” you asked, pointing at the flower in his hand.
“yeah,” akaashi smiled. “it was on my desk this morning.” he had already looked up what the meaning behind that flower after he got it for the first time and saw that it meant ‘cheer up.’ “it came at pretty nice timing too,” he added. it was a pretty stressful week for akaashi with cram school every day and having to study for entrance exams. the flowers were always tied with a pink, satin ribbon.
“are you still on the lookout for who your mystery florist is?” you teased, looking up over the book you were reading.
“i still haven’t stopped my search,” akaashi said, lightly running his hands through the silky flower petals. “well, i do kind of like that they’re this mystery person. i never thought that receiving flowers would be this, well, nice.”
“good for you,” you smiled and returned to your book, sneaking glances once in a while at akaashi as he admired the flower. unbeknownst to him, you were the mystery florist who had been crushing on akaashi ever since freshman year. it had started out as a way to cheer him up a bit after fukurodani wasn’t able to enter nationals. the day after you left the alstroemerias on his desk, akaashi had entered the clubroom with a smile on his face, talking about how someone was nice and enough to give him flowers.
and from then on, you decided to leave him flowers whenever you knew he was feeling down. most of them were gerberas, since there were always one or two left over at the flowershop you worked part-time at. but sometimes, you carefully sneaked out one of the fresh white poppies from the new flower deliveries. akaashi wasn’t really the type to celebrate things like perfect test scores or successful practice matches so you liked sending him a white poppy once in a while to remind him to be happy for himself.
the sight of akaashi walking into the clubroom with a slight sparkle in his eye, a spring in his step, and a fresh flower in his hand became one of your favorite things. and even though you could never convince yourself to actually confess to him, just seeing that was more than enough.
...
‘oh, another flower,’ akaashi smiled as he saw one on his desk as soon as he entered the classroom. it had been a good few weeks since he last received another flower and even though he knew his mystery florist shouldn’t really be obligated to give him flowers in the first place, akaashi still missed seeing fresh blooms on the makeshift jar on his desk.
as he neared his desk though, he found that the flower wasn’t the usual gerbera or white poppy, or even the alstroemerias that he first received. its petals were white and it looked a bit like a rose, except that its petals were a bit bigger and the scent was a bit sweeter.
‘i wonder what this is,’ akaashi thought, pulling up his phone and once again looking through flower pictures. this one was a bit easier to find. the flower was a gardenia: secret love.
...
you were practically holding your breath ever since you left the flower on akaashi’s desk. for the past few months, you’ve been playing it safe with the flowers you were giving akaashi. but earlier that day, while you were opening up the shop, a fresh batch of gardenias was delivered which gave you a crazy idea. akaashi would surely find out what it meant and your heart was hammering in your chest.
“a-akaashi!” you practically squeaked in surprise as soon as he entered the clubroom. the gardenia was in his hand and you felt your face heat up. “another flower, huh? this one looks different from the rest.”
“yeah, it’s a gardenia,” akaashi said, sitting down next to you. unlike before, you couldn’t quite read the expression on his face and that made you even more nervous.
“did you look up what it means?” you asked.
“’secret love’, apparently,” akaashi glanced up at you. “i guess, these have been coming from a secret admirer all this time.”
“aww, that’s so sweet! i wish i had one who’d send me flowers,” you laughed nervously.
“yeah, well the thing is, i wouldn’t know how to tell them,” akaashi sighed.
“tell them what?”
“that i like someone else.”
and with that, you felt your hopes deflate. akaashi already liked someone else. ‘probably one of the pretty ones in class,’ you thought sadly.
“well, i’m sure they’ll understand,” you said in a small voice before returning to the book you were reading. unbeknownst to you, akaashi there was a hint of longing in the way akaashi glanced at you from the corner of his eye.
...
akaashi had a crush on you ever since freshman year, when the two of you met in the literature club. he had already signed up for the volleyball club but since he knew he’d be able to balance things well, he decided to sign up for another club of interest. on your first day as club members, akaashi recalled you intensively defending fanfiction as subversive literature and making very impressive points for that matter. he knew you weren’t very outspoken and you tended to be quite shy around your seniors, but you always spoke up when you felt you needed to.
being in the literature club was even more fun with you around. you were the one who gave the idea of a ‘mystery novel dinner’ event for the cultural festival where you invited other students and pretended to be guests in a house solving a murder. akaashi had pretended to be the well-meaning, intelligent detective while you were lady of the house who mourned the death of her husband while actually being the real killer. the event was a success and akaashi fondly remembered how you were consistently in-character, even when akaashi was apprehending you after he solved the mystery.
when he entered the clubroom the next day, wondering just how he was going to tell his mystery florist that he couldn’t reciprocate their feelings, he walked in to find that you weren’t there.
“oh, akaashi-san,” one of your juniors who was there instead, greeted him.
“y/n isn’t here yet?” he asked.
“oh, well they came here and just left their bag. i think they were trying to buy snacks before the cafeteria closed,” they answered, pointing at your bag that was in your usual seating place.
“thanks,” akaashi nodded his thanks at them and sat down at his usual spot. your bag was zipped completely open, one of your usual habits, and its contents were fully visible. akaashi spotted more than a few books, one of them in particular catching his eye.
“’the language of flowers,’“ he read aloud.
“oh, i think that’s the one from our collection,” his junior said. “y/n has been reading it for a while. i think it’s because of the new job they got.”
“new job?” akaashi asked.
“yeah, at the flower shop,” his junior nodded.
akaashi blinked at the book for a few seconds before standing up. “i’ll be back in a bit,” he said, leaving the clubroom. as quickly as he could, he walked back to his classroom and peeked into the small glass window.
and just as he suspected. there you were, standing by his desk, placing a pink rose on top of it.
...
“thank you for coming,” you bowed as the customers left the shop. as soon as they were gone, you let out a sigh as you surveyed the mess of leaves, stems, and leftover wrapping paper on your workstation. a man had just come by asking for one of the more extravagant bouquets to give to his wife and your fingers hurt a bit from the thorns on the rose stems. you had been dealing with roses all day, especially now that you they were your most recent deliveries since they were in season.
you had also given akaashi a rose. you knew they had very different meanings depending on the color, but the pink one that you gave him meant ‘trust, happiness, or confidence.’ you figured it was about time for you to stop sending him flowers, especially now knowing that he liked someone else, so you decided to go all out and leave him a pink rose.
you tried to focus on cleaning your workstation and leave all thoughts of akaashi out of your head when the shop bell suddenly rang as a customer came in.
“welcome to-- akaashi?” the sight of him made you stop in your tracks. in his hand, he was holding the pink rose you gave him earlier. you watched as his eyes glanced from the bin of fresh roses on your worktable, to the pink satin ribbon your ribbons case, and you knew he had just put two and two together.
“you’re the mystery florist,” akaashi said, stepping closer to where you were.
“i am,” you sighed, knowing there was nowhere for you to run. “but if you want, i’ll stop sending the flowers. that’s the last one.”
“why would i want that?” akaashi asked.
“because... because you like someone else,” you said softly.
“ah, but when i said i liked someone else back then, that could have meant anyone,” akaashi said, a smile playing on the corner of his lip. “it could even be... you.”
your eyes widened as you understood the meaning of what he had just said. “m-me...?”
“yeah.” now it was akaashi’s turn to feel shy. “i’ve... i’ve liked you for quite a while, y/n.”
“you have?” you could scarcely believe your ears. akaashi, the boy who you had crushed on for so long, liked you back.
“now, i guess it’s about time i be the one to give you flowers,” akaashi smiled, surveying the shop. “what do you suggest?”
you let out a giggle, feeling that rush of giddy joy at the knowledge that akaashi liked you back. you looked around all the flowers in the shop, so many meanings, so many ways to say ‘i love you.’
your eyes fell on the bin of roses at your workstation and remembered how the thorns hurt your hand. “well, at this point, anything except roses.”
