She was about to kick his ass. Shinobu walked into the school from the past break hoping for a peaceful start back to school but was met with hushed tones and sideways glances. Not at her of course, the students were quick to disperse when they met her eyes. No, it was because of thier dear gym teach Tomioka Giyu who is walking blissfully unaware of many stares coming his way. He seemed more dazed than usual absentmindedly eating a yogurt pouch.

“He cannot be this dense!” Shinobu thought to herself. The two continued to walk until Shinobu cleared her voice scaring off some female students. “You’ve grown quite popular today Tomioka.”

Giyuu didn’t spare her a glance, he instead made a hum of approval. He didn’t even hear her, and if he did he certainly didn’t comprehend it.

“Did you have a good break?” She asked hoping for any kind of answer.

“Yes, I went to the festival.” He replied plainly.

“Oh how was it?”

“Good. My sister and her husband came.”

“And?”

“And what?” Giyuu sounded genuinely confused by the question which only angered Shinobu more upset.

Before she could begin to berate him. A familiar tuft of blonde hair bumped into Giyuu followed by a string of apologies from a worried Tanjiro. Zenitsu however was less worried and not the littlest bit apologetic as the two boys continued down the hall way. Shinobu faintly heard Zenitsu grumble something along the lines of “undeserving” and “It’s always the quiet guys.”

She felt a relief wash over her once they entered the teachers lounge and were greeted by the early birds of the staff. Giyuu muttered a hello before taking to his desk. Uzui wheeled over to Shinobu, “Is he more spacey than usual?”

“I don’t even think he can hear anything we tell him.” Shinobu replied “He seems to have made Agatsuma upset.”

“I would too if someone berated me everyday.” Obanai said, coming to join the duo.

“He didn’t even say anything to Agatsuma or Kamado when they bumped into us.” Shinobu relayed the morning’s events to them.

“Oi! Tomioka!” Uzui called “What’d you do, steal Agatsuma’s girlfriend or something?”

“That’s inappropriate.” Giyuu replied, not even bothering to look up from his desk and folders. “I don’t talk to students outside of school hours.”

Sanemi let out a ‘tch’ noise, “You must of did something to him.”

“Are you sure you didn’t run into him over break?” Obanai scoffed.

“No, he ran into us.” Giyuu replied plain as always. I’m precise and stiff movements he was gathering papers onto his clipboard.

“Did you not help him up?” Shinobu gently poked at his arm, “That’s so rude Tomioka.”

“I didn’t. (Y/N) helped him up, he did not look at me.”

“Your sister?”

“My girlfriend.”

Everyone stood rigid in silence. The hall watched Giyuu throw away his yogurt and excuse himself. The silence wax cut threw by the hot coffee spilling over Sanemi’s cup.

“You can’t just leave after that!” Uzui called, he leaped out of his chair to chase Giyuu down the hall.

“Should we stop him?” Obanai asked.

“Would it make a difference if we did?” Shinobu replied.
