People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.
For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.
The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.
So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.

"keep kissing me like that and i'll marry you" (heeseung x reader)
genre: fluff word count: 0.5k requested by @venividibitchin ♡
warnings: swearing, kissing
a/n: i'm writing way too many kissing hee fics lately, is it just me or are they getting repetitive 😭 but whatever, it's actually my favorite dribble i've written so far!! since we can't have hee getting too many fluffy drabbles, tonight imma probably drop an angsty one for a change!! hope you like this one guys too <3
You've always thought that sleepy Heeseung was the most adorable being on the entire planet earth.
The way that his eyes blink heavily, his dark eyelashes fluttering against his cheeks softly. The slow rising of his chest and the occasional snores that slip out whenever he catches himself drifting away despite his will. The way his head lulls to the side and lands on your shoulder when he finally gives up and allows himself to fall asleep.
In conclusion, you love every single fucking thing about sleepy Heeseung.
That's exactly why you can't resist yourself from assaulting your boyfriend's face as he rests peacefully in the crook of your shoulder, warm breath tickling your neck. Slightly pulling away from him, you start with a small smooch to his cheek, following with a trail of pecks down to his chin. As a soft grunt leaves his throat, you take that as a permission to go all in and start peppering his entire face with kisses.
Now, more awake than not, Heeseung lazily pulls you on his lap and leans his head back, wholeheartedly enjoying being on the receiving side of your affection. You don't stop moving your lips across his drowsy features, lips grazing all the way from the tip of his ear to his sharp jawline.
After teasing him by only kissing the corners of his mouth, you finally press your lips to his fully, relishing in the muffled sigh he lets out. You slowly drag the kiss out, moving sloppily as your fingers play with the hair on the back of his head.
Heeseung hums lowly. "Keep kissing me like that and I'll marry you," he blurts out into your lips, hands kneading your thighs absentmindedly.
Feeling your heart halting in your chest, you pull away slowly, not sure whether you should actually take his words into consideration or it's just the tiredness speaking through him right now. You look into his eyes, only to find his unwavering gaze already set on you.
"Wait, are you serious?" You ask, hands moving to brace on his shoulders.
He only chuckles softly, nuzzling your cheek before finding your lips again. "Yeah, dead serious. Would you want that too?"
You feel the hot rush of adoration for your boyfriend running through your veins and before you can even process the situation soberly, you're nodding your head happily. "Yeah. Very much."
A wide smile stretches Heeseung's lips. "Then it's settled. We're getting married tomorrow."
You snort, pinching his ear gently. "Where? In a fucking Elvis chapel?"
"For all I care, it could even be this godawful Chinese restaurant we went to last week. Now that you agreed, I just wanna wife you up already."
You can't help but giggle out of the buzzing giddiness inside of you, wrapping your arms around his neck as you bury your face in his chest. "Alright, yeah. Okay," you stumble out.
"Okay?" He repeats after you, making sure he's not lovesick enough for his delusional mind to just imagine you saying that.
But when your hands squeeze his t-shirt tightly, he knows he wasn't just dreaming it all and you're right here actually accepting his bizarre proposal.
"Okay."

George Martin, 2013: "In a very basic level winter is coming for all of us. I think that’s one of the things that art is concerned with: the awareness of our own mortality. “Valar morghulis” – “All men must die”. That shadow lies over our world and will until medical science gives us all immortality… but I don’t think it makes it necessarily a pessimistic world. Not any more pessimistic than the real world we live in. We’re here for a short time and we should be conscious of our own mortality, but the important thing is that love, compassion and empathy with other human beings is still possible. Laughter is still possible! Even laughter in the face of death… The struggle to make the world a better place… We have things like war, murder and rape… horrible things that still exist, but we don’t have to accept them, we can fight the good fight. The fight to eliminate those things. There is darkness in the world, but I don’t think we necessarily need to give way to despair. One of the great things that Tolkien says in Lord of The Rings is “despair is the ultimate crime”. That’s the ultimate failing of Denethor, the Steward of Gondor, that he despairs of ever being able to defeat Sauron. We should not despair. We should not go gentle into that good night".
JRR Tolkien, 1962 : "One reviewer once said, this is a jolly jolly book, all the right boys come home [...]- this isn't true of course, he can't have read the story. [...] Human stories are practically always about one thing, really, aren't they? Death. The inevitability of death. . . . . . (He quotes Simone de Beauvoir) 'There is no such thing as a natural death. Nothing that ever happens to man is natural, since his presence calls the whole world into question. All men must die, but for every man his death is an accident, and even if he knows it he would sense to it an unjustifiable violation.' Well, you may agree with the words or not, but those are the key spring of The Lord Of The Rings".
"Lotr is all rainbows and unicorns and Asoiaf is nihilistic and grimdark". Wrong, and wrong. In all its hope and radiance, lotr often gets very dark, and despite all the death and suffering, the hopeful moments in asoiaf shine bright. The meeting point of these two is this: having hope while in despair, and even better, refusing to give up because you have to go on despite not having any hope left.

i'm actually really upset at the watcher "fandom"
y'all seem like a lot of fair-weather fans to a group of guys who have consistently put out shows that you love, you've gone to their live shows, you've bought their merch, you've followed them over the years as they've grown and built their own brand
and then when they come out to say "hey, we're proud to announce the next big step for us as creators, producers, talent, and directors," you fucking scream and rail and throw a fit because they are launching a paid service that allows them MUCH more creative control and freedom while also supporting their staff in a more sustainable way???
that's sick and pathological, and i wonder how many of y'all were blogging in support of the wga/sag-aftra strike, because if you were and you're pitching a fit now? check yourself. not fucking cute to say you support those folks and then bitch and moan when your so-called favorite creators take the initiative to support themselves in a way that they feel more confident in.
"but we liked the old content that looked like it was made in a basement and the blue and yellow text and--" okay, did you ever think that maybe?? MAYBE???? the guys wanted to do something better??? if you really supported them, you'd be in support of their creative ambitions, too.

we talk a lot about Shauna being ruthless and violent and resentful, and not to say she isn't those things but also--
Shauna, who risks burning alive to save Van.
Shauna, who pauses to comfort the reunited Tai & Van after the latter is found safe
Shauna, who consoles and looks after Javi all through season 1 while his older brother is busy being misogynistic and getting fucked
Shauna, who takes on the job of butcher despite not necessarily wanting or enjoying it and never complains or slacks off even when the task becomes traumatizing
Shauna, who tries to get Jackie to eat, to keep going, when everyone else has given up on her by that point.
Shauna, who has to be goaded, essentially given permission before she becomes violent
Shauna, who loved her baby in spite of the stress her pregnancy added to an already precarious situation, who spoke to him and cradled him and futily tried to keep him alive, who buried him away from the others to keep him safe in death
Shauna, who kept her daughter's favorite childhood toy in her car long after she'd outgrown it, to always keep a piece of her close by
Shauna, who sees Tai struggling and invites her to stay over, so that Tai won't be afraid to sleep
Shauna, who goes along with Jeff's boring, milqtoast furniture salesman fantasies because while she doesn't love him the way she did Jackie, she does care about him and wants to make him happy
Shauna, who was the only one of the group to show up to Misty's how to get away with murder seminar and thank Misty for going to the trouble
Shauna, who is soft-spoken where Jackie is loud, conciliatory where Jackie is pushy, helpful where Jackie is lackadaisical, proactive where Jackie sulks.
Shauna, who's not a perfect friend or mother or wife but who's still quietly one of the nicest, most empathetic of the Yellowjackets and yet because she got drafted into being the group's butcher, wrote bitchy journal entries, and did one fucked up thing behind her best friend's back (which she immediately regretted and agonized over) gets rebranded by fandom as caustic, overly-snarky and quick tempered when it takes her 10 episodes to get pissed off enough to raise her voice
