So I just wanted to give an update that chapter 21 is coming along slowly but surely. I'm struggling with a bit of writer's block, and also the pacing for the next chapter. It's either going to be one REALLY long chapter or two shorter chapters. We shall find out, but either way, you'll get it all pretty shortly.

For now, spite about something happening in the fandom has inspired me to write a 'Killer is trans' drabble (along with Moony's fantastic 'Skeletons are trans' post.)

So enjoy a silly drabble under the cut and fuck transphobes.

Most of the deep conversations you and Killer had were over meme origins, conversations about show plots, and videogame strategy. Not that you didn't enjoy these kinds of conversations, but at this point in your relationship you wondered if you were both supposed to be having those deeper, meaning-of-life types of conversations.

Cuddling on the couch one day you finally get to have one of those conversations. As Killer lays in your lap and you brush your nails gently over his cranial sutures you somehow end up down a very interesting, and enlightening train of thought.

You are beyond fascinated, and for once getting information about Killer and his various alternate forms across the multiverse so you nod along exhuberantly and motion for him to go on.

"i mean i guess you could say that about all monsters, though with skeletons it's a little more obvious because baby bones are just that - bones."

"So you woke up one day and decided 'boy'?" you ask.

"eh, kinda. i mean i always felt like a boy in some way, though i did go through a 'girl phase', but that felt more like trying it on before i settled. and gender is funny sometimes, even though i'm mostly happy where i am, sometimes i feel different."

"i must admit i do look good in a dress," Killer adds smugly.

You still for a moment, suddenly picturing Killer in a red, sparkly dress. Definitely something Jessica Rabbit would wear. Maybe even with a pair of ecto-breasts to fill it out.

sorry, but I need to talk about my Rook brain rot as a new player. I've seen people creeped out by Rook at 1st impression. Me? "I'm sure this guy will be like a sweet wholesome lemon tart but I wish he was actually sinister!" Rook’s definitely been an odd one to pin down 😅 I feel like he has a pretty bad rep not just in terms of first impressions, but overall.

A lot of it really comes down to people feeling disturbed by how he follows his peers around/invades their privacy or some of the comments he cheerfully makes, particularly directed at Vil. Rook can be both silly and also intensely unsettling in that sense, which makes him a somewhat polarizing character (at least in the international fandom). He also gets memed on pretty regularly for his haircut. It’s up to every individual fan to make the judgment call on that for themselves.

Speaking for myself, I also find Rook’s… weirdness to be very charming. He’s so happy all the time while also using that superfluous persona to mask the actual threat he poses to others and to keep his own personal details shrouded. Very clever of him to use such a diversionary tactic! It’s like a huntsman laying a trap for unsuspecting prey, which really suits his image. Rook’s capable of being both sweet and sinister, and I like that contrast.

• I'm not going to expand on that, my whole life as turned into an Akashi stan account.

His outfits in officail merch are beautiful too. And he is so tiny compared to the other character, a condensed of perfection really.

• I said it at some point and i'll say it again, he is my baby and i love him and i'll protect him from all harm.

• I mean do i really need to expand on that ? Akashi is just so silly.

• This is an affectionate squeak, like when you see something so cute feel an irresistible need to crush it. Like a kitten, or a puppy, or a baby rabbit.

• And his nose, and pet his hair.

• Things did happen to him and i cried on the inside. The only things that can make me openly cry are Lotr, One Piece, Naruto. I'm immune to showing signs of weakness, I hold back tears like a pro in any situation and I don't even do it on purpose, it's my reptilian brain I think. This is kinda dumb and unhealthy probably.

• Once again it's an affectionate bite, i just like to bite things i like.

This last year, I've been watching a lot of K-drama. I'm really enjoying it.

Videogames like Castlevania ( I like both, videogames and the Netflix TV shows), Halo, Mortal Kombat, Devil May Cry for example.

I had a Tumblr account with the same name before. It was fully dedicated as a fan blog of Castlevania. Many of the things that I had were some of my silly memes about Castlevania Netflix (most of them about Alucard).

I deleted the account because I was very inactive here and I felt a little bit limited by just post about Castlevania.

Sometimes I reblogged the nice drawings of friends that are here, sometimes I shared about ancient Egyptian history, but not so often.

After deleting the account, I didn't feel well about leave this place, so, I decided to create an account and start all over again.

I want to use this place to connect with people that enjoy the same things that I do.

So, I hope find again the cool friends who are still here, but at the same time, find new friends.

With the time, I'll be re-posting the material of Castlevania that I posted before, just in case there's someone interested.

Credendo Vides

Remember when you were finally getting old enough and independent enough to really start choosing your own books? For a lot of us, I'm willing to bet that those choices were at least partly directed by our elementary school libraries and those old metal carts full of books that our teachers had in their classrooms in the halcyon days before Republicans got granular about banning books in classrooms. Unfortunately, which teacher or school library had this little blue book on their shelf or cart has been lost to the morass of memory, but to whichever teacher or librarian who bought this book, THANK YOU. This was one of those foundational books that not only got me interested in fairy lore but also introduced me to the darker side of the fae.

That internet meme about never being able to separate a book girl from that one mediocre book she read when she was 10 is true. I am in that picture and I do not like it. That said, I stand by this book being the absolute furthest thing from mediocre. It was a phenomenal introduction to the idea of the Seelie and Unseelie Fae Courts, and the idea that fairies could be awesome in every sense of the word, and sometimes awe is scary AF. So let's talk The Voyage of the Basset: The Raven Queen.

I...feel low-key silly putting a spoiler warning on a kid's book from 1999, but uh...for those of you who care, THIS IS YOUR SPOILER WARNING.

So, before we jump into the difference between the Seelie and Unseelie Courts, we probably need to talk about our protagonists. Gwen and Devin Thornworth are the twin youngest children of two Pre-Raphaelite artists, and while Gwen is her parents' artistic darling, Devin is quite literally parenting his entire family of absent-minded artists. This poor literal child is running the household, making sure bills get paid and there is food on the table because he lacks the artistic talents of his parents, older sisters, and twin. Devin is...not psyched about this, and generally prefers to avoid dealing with it by keeping his feet nailed to the floor.

So when Gwen drags him aboard the magical ship Basset and they end up in a secondary fantasy world, separated, and trapped in different fae courts. Devin ends up in the Seelie court, where he is free to come and go and has the rules of the world explained to him in significant detail so he doesn't do anything that gets him trapped on literal pain of death.

Gwen, however...our poor talented girl has a much rougher road. Gwen is considered her parent's little artistic prodigy. It's made abundantly clear to the reader that our girl has never had to work for her art and has never been criticized, so when she ends up in the Unseelie court, she doesn't clock the danger and simply assumes she can please Nichevin, the titular Raven Queen, with her art. Nichevin's critique of Gwen's portrait of her is absolutely brutal. Gwen's spirit is absolutely broken within the first 15 minutes of being in the Unseelie court, and by the time Gwen learns the rules, she has already partaken of food under the hill and can't leave without dying. Not that that's going to stop her, or her fellow human captive: Thomas the Rhymer (put a pin in this, we're going to come back to this little literary rabbit hole). Thomas is full-on dying on starvation because he DOES know the rules, and wants out of the Unseelie court.

Gwen is relegated to the scullery and dishwashing, where she wrangles some extremely reluctant...I hesitate to call them allies, they're more grumpily making sure she doesn't get herself randomly killed and neglecting to turn her in. But nevertheless, she wrangles her Unseelie fairy babysitter and the Pooka into helping her keep Thomas alive long enough for Devin to put together a plan and liberate everyone.

Which Devin does by discovering that the family talent didn't bypass him. Our boy is a storyteller--I'm pretty sure he'd get shanghaied by the Bard class in DnD, but he doesn't actually play the harp, he gets some magical help with that. What he DOES have is a powerfully raw storytelling talent that is enough to get Nichevin to agree to a bargain and gives Devin enough space to rules-lawyer the terms to get both Gwen and Thomas out from under the hill. Gwen does need literal magical intervention from Titania (don't think too hard about it, this is a children's book and the details are fudged) to prevent her from dying in her twin's arms because she committed the cardinal sin of interacting with fae and ate the food.

However, both Gwen and Devin get some solid character development and do survive to return home--again, this is a kid's book.

But the fact that there were legitimate consequences for Gwen being wildly overconfident and not knowing the rules was really interesting, especially since up to this point, the books I'd been reading were less fantasy/fairy tale, and characters generally were not allowed to fuck up that badly. Additionally, you generally didn't see characters like Devin actually uncover a talent that his family will understand and value--the usual pattern was that this character simply accepted the value inherent in their organizational skills. Devin knew his skills were valuable, what he wanted was a creative outlet, and he GOT that. Plus it dovetailed well with the skills he already knew he had and valued, so that was an even better perk. I loved the feeling of this book and the arcs the characters went on far better than the contemporary or historical fiction I had been handed up to this point. Even though the Raven Queen was mean and scary and the Unseelie court was cruel, I loved having stakes at that level, and I loved that everything Devin did achieved his stated goals but *still was not enough* to save Gwen's life on its own. Like, he succeeded in his quest. He did it. He did something WILDLY heroic and difficult, and it still wouldn't have been enough. Complicated success was a topic I was...not new to, necessarily, but didn't have language for as a kid, and I didn't magically get language for it reading this book. What I did get though, was a sense that books could see me and tell me that yes, what I felt was real and valid.

Yes, this is the earliest book I can put my finger on where I felt seen. Of course it stayed with me, and of course it both stuck with me and sparked off a love of fairy books. Like, this predated the Artemis Fowl books for me, and this book was a BIG part of why I picked up that series. It also pointed my nose toward literature and literary research. Remember that pin we put in Thomas the Rhymer? Yeah, we're gonna quickly revisit that now.

Every kid has a weird, osmotic understanding of what fairies and dwarves and your standard, Tolkien-inspired magical races are. That was fine. I even had a low-key understanding of what bards (although I did not have the word bard at this age) and travelling storytellers were, but despite Thomas the Rhymer of this book not actually resembling the historical and/or folkloric figure, I was like, "This dude is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too specific not to be someone. Who the heck is he?" Now, the internet circa 2000-2001 was not like...amazing for research and I was like...nine. I was a baby, I didn't know how to research things, and neither of my parents were familiar enough with Irish, English, and Scottish folklore to really help me with this one. But I came back and kept digging over the years, and between Thomas the Rhymer and Robin Hood, I spent late elementary school and most of middle school digging into how to do basic mythology and folklore research.

I was doomed to be an English major from a young age, is the moral of this story.

I'm not even sure you can GET this series anymore, but I will be forever grateful to its presence in my school and the trajectory it put me on.

Remember your fae rules, y'all. Be polite, never give them your name, don't eat or drink anything, and don't let the glamor of "fairy" hide the darkness under the hill.

Any team Jack Manifold is on is gonna be a weird time. And boy is that neat! Add in 5up, who has a strange and chaotic energy of his own, and then Eret and Sapnap who have the potential to continue the bit, and you have potentially a very interesting-funny team.

Probably the team with the most MCC experience I've seen in a while.

This is also a team of people who really play in the event for the love of it. Obviously everyone in the event expresses their appreciation and admiration, but this team really takes it to the next level. It's a joy to watch :)

Gonna be honest, Purpled's the only person on this team I've really watched more than a little of, but I think they'll be fun! The meme energy will be off the charts, that I can guarantee. Honestly, they're all pretty meme-y.

[REPOST] What ROBLOX games would each Genshin Character play?

I did not know how or why Tumblr messed up the og post, but now I'm just embarrassed and sad. Anyways, here's some headcanons based on my Roblox experience!

Hu Tao + Zhongli - Horror Games (Doors/FNAF/Etc)

Hu Tao would drag Zhongli to play with her just so that she can attempt to get a reaction from him. It ultimately leads to no avail, but she still finds it fun to play with him.

Zhongli at first as confused with the concept of Roblox ("How is it possible to have multiple games within one game?") and while Hu Tao tried to slowly explain it to him, she decided to just let it go.

Hu Tao isn't fazed by jump scares, in fact she welcomes them. She giggles when the funny model disappears and reappears then goes "Boo!"

Zhongli wouldn't flinch at a jumpscare. He would just blink in confusion as to why a png with a loud noise is quickly moving towards him, screaming. At most he would complain about the noise and Hu Tao would just tell him to lower it down.

Hu Tao plays Roblox on her phone, while Zhongli plays on his work computer (his paycheck at the Wangsheng Funeral parlor wouldn't be enough to get him a high quality laptop - not like he was ever interested in getting one, of course)

This would mean that while Hu Tao has a decently running game, Zhongli's Roblox is as old and slow as he is. Hu Tao mostly has to carry Doors runs while Zhongli spectates and goes "hmmm" at the jumpscares

First of all, Scara would tell you that he only has Roblox installed because Childe wanted them to play together. Childe initally had Roblox installed to play with his younger siblings and eventually fell into the rabbit hole of action games.

Kaeya just thinks it's fun and had no real motive to start playing (Klee caught him playing Roblox and asked if he could play with her, to which he said that it was a scary, adult game and she should ask Albedo more about it)

Scara is familiar with the mechanics and could be better than Childe if only he took the games seriously. He thinks the characters and the graphics of the game are a bit too silly (except for Frontline which he was more than impressed with).

Childe loves action games and would beg Scara to 1v1 him. He normally hard carries every games and stomps on (mostly) little kids. Probably says "ggez" after top fragging each FPS Game.

They don't usually play with Kaeya, but they mostly encounter him in some games.

Childe and Scara are gaming PC nerds (see this post as to why I think Scara has a gaming PC) while Kaeya is a phone gamer. Not like he doesn't have a PC, but he's a freak who learned how to aim on a phone. This makes it all the more frustrating when he wins over Childe and Scara and rubs it in.



Fischl and Xingqiu - Anime Tower Defense Games (AA/ASTD)

Fischl would definitely be into the insane and creative stories of anime and manga. Not because of the Jojos meme, but because of the wide variety there is to chose from. Aside from reading fiction, she definitely would be the type of girl to watch a couple episodes of isekai, fantasy, romance or some mainstream anime that she likes.

Xingqiu, on the other hand, finds action anime to be interesting. When asked about it, he says that anime, like good literature, always has more to it than the fights (he says unlike Western movies that are very flashy but without substance). Reading action is different from watching it being animated in such an appealing way, which is why he reluctantly got into it,

WITH THAT BEING SAID, given their intellect and interest in anime, she would be interested in games like "All Star Tower Defense" and "Anime Adventures" which are games that require a lot of grinding for characters and has it's own strategy and meta.

Fischl would love the idea of collecting characters that she would like and would spend hours rambling about how there are hidden references in the game.

Xingqiu, however, is fully invested in the specific meta in the games and would spend real life money on Bobux to buy enough in game currency for each unit. He is also interested in the trading market, always trying to make profit from buy and selling units.

Anime nerds + strategy gatcha game = profit\

I haven't really gone down the rabbit hole of portal ships and I dont really ship characters outside of a few exceptions, but Ive always loved the relationship between -robot and their sad babygirl- so chelldos (is that what its called?) but not necessarily romantic (nothing against the romantic shippers, yall are great and romantic chelldos is also fun)

Least favorite pairing

No shade nothing against it, but I don't really ship wheatly/chell as a romantic ship BUT NOTHING AGAINST THOSE WHO DO

Favorite moment

Either cave johnsons combustible lemons, wheatly telling chell to kys or the entirety of test chamber 16 (I think) in portal, idk the turrets are just silly guys

ALRIGHTY SO I am really bad at platformers/platform adjacent games and they stress me out typically, so the actual gameplay is gonna be a 7/10 but the story/characters/voice acting all 10/10

the way the stargate scene is written is just so cool and it makes me so happy the way Clarke combines unrealism with space horror.

alrighty so one of my main interests is old vocal synths, so having HAL sing daisy bell (what is considered the first harmonized song said by a computer, the IBM 704/7094 part of the MUSIC-N series) was just so cool and we love it when the dying robot serenades his babygirl before death
