Franken faceup (finally lol) under the cut :) very very long and text heavy because i had a LOT to say with the new stuff I tried :)

^ mockup :) you can see the placing of a lot of the stitches shifted slightly and that it was pretty dark makeup around the eyes! My big inspo for this was early pics of avril lavigne since I wanted to capture that vibe in the way of silly skater girl in this doll. I very much was kind of on the fence on this one, going back and forth on what I would do with the doll (which is why I um was postponing working on the head [outside of painting it] until now) but was convinced I would go with this.

I promise you I had plans to use this mockup. It just did not feel right when I *did* get around to the faceup so I went into it with my usual tactic of ehh it's fine I'll figure it out later which either goes really well or really bad from my experience. I had gotten some tips from a friend of mine who is a PHENOMENAL doll artist so was very hyped to put those into use as well!

I started with blushing the normal resin, not even touching the other colors until I had already gotten this layer sealed so there would be less color contamination (or that was the hope lol)

I just was focused on building up the pinks in the VERY yellowed resin to hopefully balance it out a little (with my experience with very yellowed dolls, this helps a lot in making the color a bit more balanced and life like instead of just. YELLOW. And with this head being from ~2006, she needed all the help she could get lol)

Next coat was the dark purple which shocker. This paint gave me even more issues lmao in the way that I struggled getting my pastels dark enough to really blush the cheeks and lips :/

Like it's there a bit but not a ton and that was ok! My lip lines kept disappearing with my sealant so I added more and more each layer.

Eventually decided that the small areas I had to blush on the teal and the light purple could be done on the same layer, so did that next

Added a bit more of the lip lines and blush around the eye area on this layer too :)

Brows were SCARY bc i was going to be trying new tactics next coat but for now, just a simple pastel outline was my goal! I was SUPER torn on how to proceed with eyeshadow (whether neutral, bright or dark) so focused on everything else (mainly getting the body blushed and getting things to look good there).

Then well. I would like to say i was just gonna do a TINY bit of watercolor to darken the purple side of the lips but then i got lost in the sauce of watercolors, adding moles, freckles, liner, and lashes with it! My favorite thing about this method of sealant (and this is a drawback to some people but to me it's a fun part) is that sometimes dust or small hairs get trapped in the sealant. And why I find this fun is that I can turn it into facial features on the doll, ie moles or scars. It's something where obviously I would prefer to NOT have it in there and I could pick it out but on this doll I wanted to gain as much skin texture as possible on each color so I let it be as messy of a sealant job as I wanted, which is why she's got the moles you see on the normal resin :)

I also used watercolors to add a bit of color where the pastels were not working well (the dark purple and teal parts of the head were giving me grief so I just got my brush wet, dipped it in my watercolors and placed it where i needed it, dabbing at it with a dry [or wet depending on what I needed] makeup sponge cut into small squares. It helped add a bit of color to the lips especially and I was very happy with how it turned out!

I am THRILLED with it so I'm letting it dry a bit and then sealant time! Honestly i do not think this faceup could have gone better :) i was NOT expecting it to go well but it came together and it feels very much like my doll announced her personality of hey. This is what I wanna look like and who am I to not follow those vibes!

Summery: you convince schlatt to let you paint his nails

A/n: this is purely self indulgent. im literally obsessed with men w/ painted nails. and all the guys i know irl won't let me paint their nails.

Schlatt sat on the couch, his arms crossed and a scowl firmly etched on his face. He had never been one for nail polish, and the very idea of letting someone paint his nails felt like a ridiculous notion. However, he couldn't deny the earnestness in your eyes as you stood before him with a small bottle of nail polish in hand.

"Come on, Jay, just this once," you pleaded, your voice laced with a hint of excitement.

He sighed, reluctantly uncrossing his arms. "Fine, but don't expect me to enjoy this."

You couldn't help but chuckle at his grumpy response. "I promise I'll make it quick and painless."

With a resigned nod, Schlatt extended his hand toward you. You grinned, carefully selecting a shade of deep crimson that you knew would look striking against his skin. As you began to paint his nails, Schlatt couldn't help but squirm and fidget, his initial discomfort evident.

"Stay still," you admonished gently, your concentration unwavering.

He huffed in response but did his best to comply. As the first nail was painted, he glanced down at the vibrant red hue that now adorned it. He had to admit, it looked better than he had expected.

You continued to work in silence, your touch gentle and precise. Schlatt couldn't help but watch your focused expression, the way your eyes sparkled with an intensity that matched the color on his nails.

As you finished the last nail, you held up his hand, admiring your handiwork. "There, all done."

Schlatt examined his newly painted nails, a mix of astonishment and amusement playing on his face. "Well, I'll be damned. It actually looks... kinda good."

You laughed, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. "See, Schlatt? Sometimes trying something new can be fun."

He grumbled but didn't resist the affectionate gesture. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Toots."

A few days later Schlatt was in the middle of a livestream, his usual brash personality on full display as he ranted about something unimportant. He'd almost forgotten about his painted nails, caught up in the fervor of his monologue, until he glanced down at his hands and saw the crimson polish glinting under the studio lights.

"Oh, son of a bitch," he muttered under his breath, a flash of embarrassment briefly coloring his cheeks.

But Schlatt was no stranger to internet fame, and he certainly didn't tend to give a damn about what other people thought of him. He straightened his posture, his usual brash personality shining through as he leaned into the camera.

"Alright, chat, let's get this shit show started," he announced, ignoring the inevitable flurry of comments about his nails.

The chat was relentless, filled with playful taunts and jokes about his unexpected manicure. Schlatt couldn't help but roll his eyes, his irritation evident, but his signature smirk was tugging at the corner of his lips.

"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, you idiots," he grumbled, holding his hands up to the camera. "You think I give a damn about what color my nails are?"

The chat exploded with laughter, and Schlatt couldn't resist a smirk. He might have been a little embarrassed at first, but he wasn't one to back down from a challenge. If anything, he was more than willing to lean into the absurdity of the situation.

With a sly grin, he lifted his middle finger, flashing it at the camera. "There, satisfied?"

The chat once again breaks into an uproar, "Y'know, I'll keep these nails," he declared, a wicked glint in his eye, "just to piss you off."

i think i am going to paint it all black or try and do a camo pattern on it in black/gray…but i might just do all black first as a base and then see how i like it before trying the pattern…also i bought some stickers for the back and am going to decorate the back window with one of those washable paint pens…then when i have the money im gonna buy a lift kit to raise up the tires a bit so that it looks more like a bronco/jeep instead of an suv…and potentially buy new tires with thicker tread so that it will be good to go for roadtripping…and after all that is done maybe some led lights to make it look cool at night…

honestly, all forms of art are touching to me in their own ways. it's all stuff that people have painstakingly made by themselves, for a variety of different reasons. music can immerse me, poetry and fiction both can make me feel a large variety of things, paintings can be so awe inspiring to look at, statues, sculptures and woodwork are all incredible to me... even stuff like architecture is incredible to me. the amount of planning that some forms of art take, while others can be done with only feelings and not much thought... it's all amazing! the sistine chapel is a masterpiece, but so is the chalk drawing of a dog that the little boy who used to live across the street made just for me. all forms of creative expression can be touching as long as they're sincere

Idk if anyone will read these but if you do actually try to follow along with my ridiculous mania brain scramble adventure, I do appreciate that. i'm so used to being isolated that part of my brain still doesn't recognize that like.. i exist in the minds of other people ._. and they look at my art.

i don't have any life whatsoever IRL aside from sometimes going & walking in circles and so my whole life instead is about flying thru these magical alien fractal dimensions with my cute living airplanes and so on. if i could just finish them i would be content but still working on that.

revisiting these months later i see just how absolutely over the top nonsensical they are but that was part of the fun so yeah. if i was less disabled then these all would be done already but, maybe someday. there are still those rare ones that did happen.

some of these about illustration scenes, others about story plans, a few game ideas. a lot of these were reworked/refactored a dozen times or are still WIP. like 1% of the total ideas

I imagine someone trying to read these and just getting a Darkest Dungeon +22 sanity damage popup over your head

(after i made this post i came across even more files that i just forgot existed. like i will just hyperfixate and write down an entire elaborate new coherent worldbuilding subsetting & plots involved. and just completely forget about it until 3 whole years later. some day this may be reconciled into a semblance of sanity)

i realized a lot of important things lately reworking my entire art-habit; most importantly that i need to be focusing more on efficient manners of communication. and not trying to make everything in hyperdetailed scenes with professional-level gesture and designs and anatomy and environments and effects --

..yeah just making 'readable colored sketch' would be okay enough i think. it isn't easy because the moment i see something isn't master-level perfect i want to spend weeks reworking it or doing anatomy studies or whatever; and ironically that ended up reducing my art quality because i would do so few finished pieces overall.

i have the exact same problem with writing actually - like focusing only on my most quixotic ideas, wanting to tie everything together in this massive overcomplex network of overlapping stories and subsettings (and like 4 animatics), and no surprise that also resulted in nothing presentable. but i actually do have nice short story scenes and will finally focus on that more.

i had another realization writing this post that i actually just overcomplicate everything because i have 9 windows open with a bunch of my scene-paintings and my 100k words of art ideas and 10+ tumblr drafts and my eldritch monstrosity nightmare of a PureRef file. honestly amazed my brain has not exploded physically at this point.

But guess what, im not useing even me, a talentless caveman wouldn't go that low.

And surprise surprise, its not that hard at all, shocker ik. All you have to do is not download/use the websites that are ai and BAM, your done.

Anyways here's my consept for my spidersona in writing form:

Name: unknown (haven't picked it yet, names are hard)

Pronouns: he/they

Spider that bit them: either a funnle spider or a red back spider

Consept:

They are basicly just me as spiderman and becues of that I decided to lean heavily into my Aboriginal australian desent. So my spider sona is gonna take inspiration from my mob the taungurung tribe.

Tbh its hard to find info about my mob online and irl. but what I could find was that possem cloks are a essential part of the culture.

Possmem cloks are as you expect, made out of possem hide. They are made for a child when they are born and are added too as they age. They are not only used in ceremonies but also in for practical uses in the winter.

So I decided that will be a key part of my charetars costume. Along with their clok the suit will have some dot painting patterns on it as well as some traditional symbols along the arms and legs:

I decided that instead of shoot webs out of their wrist they shoot it out of a traditional hunting spear that they uses for fighting/swinging around (though might change it cuz funnle spiders whole thing is makeing silk webs)

again don't uses ai it hurts artists. If your really keen ether learn how to draw, write instead or uses picrews.

The level of detail you do in your art is something I aspire to 😊 I picked up traditional again last year after a long break from art. And Im not nearly at the level I wanna be yet. But your art is one of the things that keeps me going, because I see how cool it is and think "I wanna do that!"

Thank you. I feel like I often lack in words for messages like these and can never quite express how important they are to me. Of course I appreciate all the likes/reblogs, but knowing I have an impact beyond that is just so special

Best of luck with your traditional art! Here are bellow some 'art-hacks' that I use in my own art

-For ink art, get a white gel pen for details. Any brand. However, ONLY use it on top of the ink HOURS after you've aplied it. The ink needs to be dry, otherwise the white will mix with the ink and make this transparent grey-ish color. This trick, unfortunately, doesn't work for bic pens.

-Regarding dry ink again; only erase the pencil lines hours after you've inked your drawing. You might smudge it otherwise. On the other hand, you might not even need to erase the pencil markings entirely. I only slightly erase them when my goal is a sketchier look.

-Put a tiny piece of paper under your hand when you draw. I've been questioned about this A LOT irl for those who see me do it, but it's to ensure the oils in your skin don't smudge your drawing. I avoid touching my drawings with my hands as much as possible. (How do I remove the eraser shavings then?? I use a soft painting brush. When the hand is necessary, I ONLY use the back of my hand)

-Graphite. HB is for sketching and I don't recommend it for shading. 2B and above works great for that. Use blending stumps wisely. Your graphite art will work great with a mix of soft AND hard edge shading (Same applies to digital art)

-Get a mono zero eraser, those erasers that are super thin, almost like a pencil (there's a square but I have the round one). The most expensive part of this are the refills (almost 3 euros for a set of 2 here...) BUT they last surprisingly long.

-Get a mechanical pencil and different refills for it. I have HB and 2B refills. Works great for small details, especially in the eyes.

-Work near a mirror. You can't flip horizontally in traditional art, so it can be more difficult to catch mistakes. I always catch them in the mirrored reflection. Sometimes I sit on the floor next to my big closet mirror and draw, turning my drawing from time to time.

-Not a fan of mirrors? No problem. For commissions, I often begin my sketch in tracing paper. It's thin enough that you can flip and easily see how your drawing looks on the other side. When you're done, just trace your sketch into a more solid paper.

-Watercolor surprise! I always have one brush with the paint and another brush, on my other hand, that just has water. Don't know if it's useful but it personally helps me make gradients faster (you hit a spot with your ink brush and then finish it with your water one)

Those are all the samll advice I have for now! They're not rules, just tricks that worked for me and that I still use till this day. If anyone has any other traditional art tricks, post a comment below!

I want to apologize for the absolute shit pictures but what's new lol

So, let's start with the platform. First thing I noticed was the blue was brighter but the platform was darker? It was like someone cranked up the contrast to 100. Ngl it looked pretty cool. Yoongis platform doesn't typically have a barrier like some of the others do so I just kinda walked in and did the whole, "happy birthday, I have questions" His energy seemed a lot more... vibrant? And playful I guess? It was really nice. Now. The actual connection was intresting because the cord was blue again and like, real thick. (I don't think my perceived thickness of the cord has and real correlation with how strong the connection is. It was just thicc) this time though, the cord was connected at the chest instead of the third eye. So i was like, ??? But my guide didn't give my any sort of helpful input (my guide likes to watch me suffer in my confusion. I'm sure of it)

Anyway, cord like that and then yoobi gave me a headbutt to connect at the third eye. Idk why he gotta be like that :( istg next time he's gonna flick my forehead or something.

The reading. First thing I asked was how he was doing. And I shuffled his preticular way (when I ask a question I always ask for the energy to tell me how much to shuffle or when to stop. For yoongi it's always 2-2-2. So 2 bridge shuffles, 2 hand shuffles and then split the pile in 2. That's why I think 11 might be 2 to him?)

So based off this I was like okay. I want to pull clarity cards for the two rev cards to get a better picture so I pulled the emperor rev for ace or swords rev and strength rev and wheel of fortune rev for the heirophant rev.

Starting with the ace of swords rev, and the emperor reverse. It seems like yoongi has been re thinking his relationship to control in his life. That's he's possibly noticing any unhealthy needs to control his life and the situation around him. It could also refer to his judgment being clouded by a rigid approach.

With the justice card it makes me think that he's possibly considering a big choice in his life or that he's really doing some deconstructing of his own views. This second idea fits in well with him getting clarity on some possibly unhealthy control issues in his life.

Now. The heirophant rev, strength rev and wheel of fortune reverse. This was intresting to me bc they are all major arcana. The heirophant rev can really talk about no longer needing outside approval and making your own way in your own time bc you are your own teacher. Strength in rev I kinda read as self doubt and feeling down in this case. Like a lack of confidence in himself and his abilities. And the wheel of fortune in reverse I took to mean as his breaking cycles. All together these cards kinda paint a picture about wanting and trying to break a cycle of self doubt and self limiting beliefs and learning more about himself and why he think what he does about himself and searching through everything for truth. It's really good!! In short he's doing some nice soul searching and trusting himself to guide his own way through this self discovery!

The empress! This card seems to pop up for yoobi a lot and I think it really speaks to the abundance that surrounds him! Not just money but the abundance of creativity, love, friends ect.

Now now now. I asked him if there was anything that he wanted to tell us about himself or bts or what's happening in the near future. For that I got 2 of cups, king of wands and 3 of coins.

So the 2 of cups is partnership. Usually romantic. Could be pertaining to the may 13th thing that is ever present lol but I'll get to that later. With the 3 of coins talking about teamwork, this could definitely hint at collaborations coming up!! That's the vibe I get. No one crush my dreams. And for the king of wands it could be talking about taking the reigns on a new project and starting to get it done. Like a new opportunity. This could be a new bts project like starting a new campaign or new venture or maybe personal like the a mixtape or doing more songs for other groups ect.

I had to ask him how he was feeling about the grammys. I had to. Had to. The cards were ace of wands, 2 of wands and death reverse. When these came flying out I could help but smile. Yoongis energy was almost giddy too!

Even if it was embarrassing to be taken down by a 5-man crew, and one with hybrids, at that! And the attacker had looked like he was more some random village boy, all smooth-cheeked and bright eyes, than a pirate.

He frowns. The two men who had been hybrids - an enderman and something else one, and a... pig or piglin one, he thinks. Pirate crews with those features usually stuck to the Pysernic Ocean in the south, not the Novixic Ocean of the north.

Though probably, the winds had carried them this way, and Keith's crew ended up as their unlucky target.

Techno didn’t have his mask, but because his public images are only of him with a mask, long pink hair isn’t that weird either. Especially since pirates tend to make fashion choices that denotate they’re not aligned with any particular national identity.

And also, Dream gets like a dozen reports of people supposedly seeing where Tommy is every day. Even if he takes this (extremely dubious, very vague) claim with any merit over any of the thousands of more credible sounding ones… like it’s a random ship near Novixl’s coast. How the fuck is he supposed to connect that with Sanctuary when there’s literally tens of thousands of settlements along that coast? Or when pirate ships travel a lot and they might not even be there?

People give Dream this omniscient "ooh look im big bad villain which means i mysteriously know everything relevant" plot armor and I'm just here like.... dude he's subjected to the rules of the world just as much as any other character.

Basically yeah there’s just… there's no way Tommy doing that would set anyone off. Remember that they are living in a world that doesn’t revolve around them, and consider things in the larger context.

We put a bunch of cc ideas (hair and clothes) in a discord server we have together and then work on the stuff together on call usually so each item is the way we both want me. Like for example i’ll be meshing the Ivy top while he works on texturing the ribbed version.  We also only do collabs when they happen, we didn’t plan AxA 2019 or this new set, mainly just made cc starting in May and wrapped it up in July to release in August. Then this time we started making stuff late December and got most of it done by the time I got done with my break. Having a planned collab/deadline makes stuff less stressful and the stuff usually turns out better imo

omg noooo ;n; yeah Litten is a cutie... incineroar is... well I got used to him tbh and kind of like him now? I absolutely hate scorbunny’s evolution (and most of the SWSH starters final evolution) so I think that made incineroar slightly better in my eyes. My shiny litten will be staying a kitten however :)

this is a late as hell reply i’m sorry. I think that you have texture where the glasses texture would be. Hair texture should only be in hair section or hat section (if you don’t want it hat compatible). Here is a UV map layout that I use for making hair textures. It shouldnt have anything to do with weights

I do use reshade when I take cc previews. It adds a bit of saturation to my sims and gives them some shadows under their chin/clothes. Nothing major. Also, myself and @imvikai came up with the tropical punch palette together.
