🫀 PART THE FIRST : CANONVERSE [heartwrenching character studies, missing scenes, divergences, etc]

Il falò delle vanità by More_night | 17.8k | missing scenes, one per season | will and hannibal get drunk together and skirt the edges of a years-long discussion of love, destruction, and veneration. these snapshots in their increasingly tumultuous relationship and the things that change and the things that don't....ooh wee

purple hyacinth by petrodactyl352 | 3.5k | missing scene in the season 3 timeskip | scenes from will's wedding day, featuring hannibal, alana, and will. SO full of lovely pining and a fun exploration of the interplay between these characters

culinary substitution by anbarelectrum | 8.8k | mid season 3 | will's old family meets his new family. THE choice of POV for both sections lends so much to this fic and it's a great tense little vignette that explores the dynamics at play in a really clever and exciting way while being very fair and evenhanded with all characters involved. and i LOVE the conclusions drawn

airlock by murdertrout | 9k | scifi horror romance | the spaceship's AI has been killing off the crew. will is on a mission to stop it. i love the nonlinear structure & the way that exploration of the humanity of an AI works so well with hannibal's whole thing & the exploration of bodies and codependency (&sweet robot lovin)

the back foot by spqr | 8.5k | kind of a pretty woman vibe, a little romcom and a little crime thriller. ANYWAY i can be reticent about sex work AUs but there's such verisimilitude in this one specifically for how many part-time gigs will is working and i think its great that the full service SW is treated basically the same as the column writing and dog-walking. it's all skilled work that's a little bit of a slog and really he wants to be free to get back to the romance subplot

it never sings vain by chaparral_crown | 117k | midsommar inspired folk horror au | exquisitely painful to read from start to finish, feels like eating your own beating heart, heavily recommend (feat. extremely vivid and graphic depiction of suicide right out the gate)

long live the knife by tei | 29k | baroque musician au | STICK THE FUCK WITH ME HERE you'll like this so much even if you don’t know much about that. you will. the depth of research that clearly went into this fic is one of the best i've ever seen and breathes so much life into this concept and will and hannibal both fit into this space in such nuanced and interesting ways! questions of bodily autonomy and god and death and art? johann sebastian bach is there?

all of history [deleted with one stroke] & coercive notions re-evolve by serindrana | 69k | sleeper agent/mind control au that leans into psychological horror | pt 1 is a season 1 vignette: hannibal tries to take advantage of will's fevered brain and finds that it is not the terra incognita he had expected. pt 2 is a plottier fic: while trying to recover his missing memories in the BHSCI, will blacks out and wakes up at hannibal's house, where he slowly pieces together the history that has been hidden from him (feat. dubious consent and torture)

there are actually two separate AUs. the canonverse one, and the human AU one.

i pitched the canonverse one to @magnusbae thus:

extremely funny au where hob and death have been casually hooking up since 1389 and dream finally confesses his feelings in like 2050 and hob's like ah. should i stop hooking up with your sister then? and dream's like should you stop doing WHAT?

basically. in the six billion years it takes dream to get his shit together and admit to his own feelings for hob, hob and death have just been having loads of no-strings-attached sexy fun in the background (death: you snooze, you lose, dream! *sticks tongue out*)

dream is very perturbed by this, he's like hello that's MY toy?? give it BACK???? I HAD IT FIRST!!!!!!!!!

Hob is into him so fast it's embarrassing and eventually Death yanks him aside and just gives him a look. And so like the mature adults they are they do talk about it and Death is like, dude, we aren't dating, you can do whatever you want. Besides, I'd rather have my brother be with someone I actually know and like rather than his other disastrous relationships (though Death is swiftly learning that Hob is much more unhinged than she'd previously thought. Dream brings all of it out in him). So Hob's like cool I'll flirt with your brother

Dream is under the impression that Hob and Death are actually dating. So the more Hob flirts with him the more Dream is like 👀🤔 and he's kind of in love with Hob because ohh Hob is so kind and handsome and he listens to everything Dream says and he's so charming... but he also kind of hates Hob because how dare he cheat on Death and how dare he make Dream want him like that?

Death: so are you and Hob getting along well?

Dream: no. I hope Hob falls off a cliff and dies.

Death:.... alright thanks for the input

But Dream does just keep indulging his worse impulses and one day he just finds himself sitting in Hob's lap on the couch in Death's apartment while Hob listens to him talk and he's just like: oh my god I'm a homewrecker

Rereading twin cannons has made me wonder how vengeful spirits are regarded in twinsverse vs canonverse. More specifically, how it affects how Rika is viewed. In canon her passing on is seen as ‘freeing’ her, which implies that life as a cursed spirit is not worth living.

However, Twins!Suguru seems to be horrified that she’s gone. Given that she and Yuuta in twinsverse seem to be planning on living a full life together, does that mean that he views the passing of canon Rika more like her dying instead of being freed?

Sorry if I’m explaining this weirdly, but just how is life as a vengeful spirit viewed in canonverse vs twinsverse?

So, vengeful spirits!

In canon, there are two main examples of vengeful spirits that we see: Orimoto Rika, and Zenin Naoya. Both of whom retain some semblance of their self and personage as cursed spirits following their deaths. They're both presented as warped versions of themselves, more 'monstrous curse' than 'human' after the transformation, and that would be how most people view vengeful spirits. In the eyes of sorcerers, vengeful spirits are distorted curses, horrifying caricatures of the people they used to be. Exorcising them is the only way to free their spirits and allow them to achieve peace and move on.

And then along comes Shiki. Who's a cursed spirit, but also retains a human ego to a shocking degree even despite being a curse. That's unprecedented. Because we see that as curses, vengeful spirits are prone to destruction and madness, malice and obsession. Obsessions or strong feelings that they had during life carry over to define their existence as curses: Rika attaches herself to Yuta, Naoya single-mindedly hunts down Maki in the Culling Games.

Cursed spirit Shiki might have a few screws loose, but she is not defined by obsession. If anything, it's her love for her brother that defines her, and in this case it makes all the difference.

What happens in Twins-verse is that Sato-Shiki help Rika regain her human ego as a cursed spirit. Without the obsessive madness and desire for destruction definitive of a cursed spirit clouding her mind, Rika and Yuta talk things through with each other and end up settling on a partnership for 'the remainder of Yuta's lifetime,' instead of having Rika move on ahead of him.

Suguru's horror towards seeing Rika in canon-verse is due to the fact that it's not Rika.

In canon, we know that Rika's soul moved on during the events of JJK0, and later on we find out that the Rika that we see in JJK canon timeline is not 'Orimoto Rika,' but instead something that's more akin to a shikigami that the original Rika left behind for Yuta after she passed on.

In chapter 178, we see "Rika" described as "An external storage of cursed techniques and cursed energy that Orimoto Rika left for Okkotsu after she was released."

In terms of the Twin Cannons AU, this means that Suguru sees Okkotsu Yuta standing with an empty construct that's only a facsimile of Rika and not Rika, so of course he's very startled and alarmed by what he sees. What happened to Rika in this world?

a gojo wedding would either be the biggest event ever or you’ll get married in secret and wait for the others to figure it out

(Okay... I have many, many, many thoughts about a huge, over the top wedding with Satoru but it’ll take another ask to unpack because I’ve got my own analysis as to why he’d do that even though he knows he doesn’t have to, but thinks he should anyway—IN SHORT: yes, extravagant wedding can totally be a thing with him, but some element of intimacy is retained, likely in the form of your guest list. It could be a destination wedding, with a 10-course dress rehearsal dinner on a yacht, private helicopter rides, and enough flowers to fill a small island, but there’ll be, at most, fifteen people involved, and we can talk about it later BECAUSE FOR ONCE I have thoughts about existing in the jjk verse LMFAO)

Now, secrecy seems the most plausible for a canonverse au. There’s precisely four people who know you and Satoru are married: Nanami, because he served as your witness, best man, and maid of honor all in one; Shoko, because Satoru asked her if she thought you’d even say yes (she told him he was crazy, and that you’d be crazier to say yes; when she finds out to two are wed, she offers you a celebratory cigarette and a warning that obstetrics was one of the curricula she’d grazed past when cheating); Megumi, who was angry when he found out because he found out after the fact and his pre-teen heart was a little hurt that his new guardians wouldn’t include him in such a thing—though he never voices any of this out loud (he is happy, when his emotions settle down, happiness is what he feels; he hopes that, hopefully under different circumstances, he too, can have that); and, Yuuta, who Satoru entrusts this information to after finding out about his situation with Rika, in an attempt to gain his trust and following to Jujutsu High.

It’s easy to hide because nobody expects it—a fact that serves as a safety blanket, but, truthfully, makes Satoru a little sad. He knows he doesn’t deserve to feel that kind of remorse; nobody should expect him to be married, to find someone to want to be with him—and he’s built a façade and a career with the intention of swaying suspicion—but there’s a part of him that wishes that people saw him as someone that somebody would want. Not for his strength or power or position or influence; just, to have.

So, it’s nice, when occasionally Nanami comes over for dinner; when Shoko lures you into sharing one of her cigarettes and Satoru scolds you both; when Megumi will ask for you, will call you when he needs you; when Yuuta asks to meet you, because he wants to understand the love you two have for each other. It’s nice, and Satoru is reminded that he is not singularly alone in this world, that there is you, and your friends, and a small community of people who would not be in complete disbelief to remember that he is human, after all.

If you thought I couldn't outdo myself more with the fluff for this AU then you haven't seen my true power yet 😈

I don't know if I got OCiel's bangs right but, realistically speaking, human hair never stays in the same place, that's how physics works so whatever lmao.

Anyway, trying to write a Black Butler AU with some fluff where Sebastian and Ciel have a parent-child like relationship WHILE keeping them in-character (Sebas more than Ciel tbh) and still basing it on canon material but making changes and making said changes make sense requires a bit of work ngl.

I mean, I know it's just a project I'm doing for fun and technically there's nothing stopping me from going nuts and making them completely OOC and disregarding canon at all, but I feel then it'd become a separate story with new, original characters who simply happen to be inspired by Kuro (which is also okay, and who knows, maybe in the future I'll repurpose the whole thing to create my own Kuro-inspired original story, even if I don't think I'll ever fully lose interest in Kuro, this cursed series has me in a chokehold lmao). Full ramble under the cut.

Sebastian is the hardest one to write, though I think I'm finally more or less figuring it out. I didn’t want to write him as suddenly learning to love the way humans do thanks to the power of cute children or something, as it just didn't feel natural (or I couldn't personally make it feel natural, I know other people have managed to write that concept very well). What I have so far is that when he does act nurturing he’s simply imitating the behavior of human parents he has observed, but he doesn’t love the kid the same way humans do because he literally doesn’t have that ability. BUT that doesn’t mean he feels nothing at all and that it doesn’t mean anything to Ciel, after all this weird creature is the one who saved his life and raised him with care and patience. The closest comparison I can think of is the relationship between people and “unusual” pets like reptiles, amphibians, insects, etc. We know they can’t love us the way other people (or even other mammals) would but that doesn’t make our bond any less significant! Some bits of canon material also come in handy here, for example I based the fact that familiar Sebas finds Ciel adorable as a kitten on the canon fact that he likes squishing his cheeks because they remind him of a cat's paws 😂 Just know he's an awkward demon who doesn't know how to human but is doing his best 🥺

I think in Ciel’s case I have more freedom since he is, after all, human, and a human’s personality is strongly shaped by their environment and life experiences. Like, what exactly counts as making a character OOC? Sure, I can agree that in a fanwork set in the exact same universe with the exact same events as in canon there’s some things a character would never say or do, but I think AUs were created as a way to explore what-if scenarios. What if this character had been raised by different people? What if they had grown up in a different place? What if this or that event hadn’t happened or had gone differently? Tbh I think it’s just fun to explore endless possibilities, it’s maybe a form of character analysis in some way. And if we think about it, canonverse Ciel was originally sweet, shy and affectionate, and if he’s the complete opposite now it’s only because he went through an utterly horrific and traumatic event that forced him to grow up before his time and toughen himself up because it left him with little to no support system, on top of having to be hyper vigilant because the only thing that "saved" him from that is a literal demon who wants his soul and is haunting him.

So I just wanted to create this alternative timeline where maybe things aren’t as terrible, or they start out as terrible but then some good things come from the most unexpected sources. Ciel is five years younger and thus has more time to process everything and try to heal as he grows up. Sebas isn’t entirely a bastard and willingly does nice things for the child, even if he still doesn’t understand human needs, and while he stills views him as a potential meal (at least at the beginning) he's actually respectful. There’s another demon who understands humans all too well and is happy to lend a hand. His friends and the relatives he has left are more involved in his life. So Ciel more or less has a support system now, albeit a weird dysfunctional one, and doesn’t entirely lose his sweetness (also like... he's 5/6 at the beginning of the story, we really can't expect a preschooler to be an edgy emo who craves violence and revenge ☠️). I imagine he grows up to be just as calculating and cunning as canonverse Ciel, maybe even just as ruthless in his job because it’s a requirement, and is still pretty much a little shit, but this Ciel is not as cold and undemonstrative. He’s still very much an introvert who prefers to be left alone, but he smiles (as in genuinely smile) more often and it’s a little easier for him to express emotions and feelings (more through actions than words, but still meaningful). Hell he may allow himself to be playful and silly sometimes if he’s in the moment.

And if it wasn’t clear from the picture, little Ciel ADORES Sebastian. Sure he's (understandably) a bit skittish around him at first, but once they bond he comes to fully view him as a parental figure. Yes, he's hurt, sad and traumatized, but he's still a resilient little kid, and with enough kindness Sebas can coax his old self to come out of his shell, and until the kid becomes more independent they're like a mama duck and her lil duckling. Their constant banter and bickering when he's older is more a teens being teens thing than anything.

ive seen a lot of writers' take on this, but not yours! so, naturally i have to ask! how do you think the canonverse would go, if voldemort found out harry was a horcrux sometime post goblet of fire? perhaps even directly during deathly hallows, where most of the other horcruxes were already either destroyed or missing?

Hmmm, I’ve used the trope a few times for some AUs….the one that jumps to mind is the AU where Harry and Bill are the ones that go horcrux hunting after fifth year and the whole ministry possession bit, and Voldemort’s hunting them down frantically to stop one wayward horcrux from killing the others.

But I could spin another one?

Maybe after the possession scene, Voldemort catches a clue and knows he needs get Harry immediately and either lock him up or reeducate him so that he’s no longer a threat. A lot of plans get tossed out the window because of this revelation, and Dumbledore is forced to reveal the truth to Harry to even the scales and give him some leverage over Voldemort.

Voldemort won’t kill him now, won’t even risk harming him, because there’s never been a human horcrux before and who knows what might affect the soul sliver inside him?

And oh boy does Harry exploit this new, horrible fact.

The problem is that this ‘protection’ doesn’t extend to his friends, so Harry does the only thing in his mind that makes sense.

They make a plan for it. He’s the one Voldemort wants. He’s the one with the mental connection to their enemy, the potential leak. If he removes himself from the board, draws attention away from the others, then they can focus on finding the remaining horcruxes while Voldemort is distracted by chasing Harry down.

It’s not an easy choice. Harry is fifteen. He’s untrained, he’s frightened, and he’ll be alone again because he can’t risk his friends coming with him.

He’s so fucking scared but he’ll do it anyway because what other choice does he really have? They finally have a way to beat Voldemort, he can’t not take it.

He takes a trunk of books, potions, clothes and other things Hermione foists on him in the hope it might help - and he runs.

Harry runs, and he learns, and he makes a nuisance of himself in loud and dangerous ways to keep Voldemort’s focus on him only him don’t you dare look away Tom

And it works for a while.

Harry is a brilliant distraction, and each time he slips through Voldemort’s fingers again it just makes the obsession burn hotter.

He’s dancing in the flames but he’s never so much as singed.

Harry doesn’t have the Trace on him anymore due to the tournament, and for the first time he’s allowed to learn at his own pace. He prioritises offensive and defensive magic, he dives into survival charms, into healing, into stealth - anything he thinks might give him an edge.

Without the traditional structure of school holding him back, Harry’s skill grows fast. He’s always learned better by doing, after all.

He tests himself against Death Eaters - slowly, carefully gauging his abilities against theirs. Studying their own spells and curses and trying them out for himself when he can.

And without someone to tell Harry the correct way to do things, he blasts past restrictions and limitations like they’re not even there.

It continues like that for months, years.

The Order are gathering the horcruxes, holding off destroying them to keep the advantage for as long as they can, and Harry is…growing. Changing. Becoming better.

More.

It’s all going well.

Until it isn’t.

Until someone makes a mistake, and Harry has to bargain with the only thing he has.

Himself.

Might just make swap AU hcs sighs

What I know for sure that Cyn would still be swap!Ns little sister, meaning he lost his mother at a later point than canonverse Uzi lost Nori.

Itll have some spots in the AU that shift rather than swap, just for there to be some more sense ig? Idk

Also I wouldn't fully swap personalities. Z (DD!Uzi) will still be very much angsty whilst Nuke (WD!N) would more resemble canonverse manor N altogether.

V and Thad would switch places; we don't see much of Manor!V in the show, so I'd kinda make it a mix of what we have there & V at the time of MD (being more like past V around friends, and acting more like present V around ppl she isn't close to)

Thad/T is still more chill with Uzi/Z and probably would actually get along with N/Nuke before she does (like I said, it's more of a shifting the story thing lol). He still calls N/Nuke N&Ms.

J and Lizzy probably would swap places, seeing as they both take the role of bully within their respective groups.

I'm not sure who to put in Dolls place. Mainly bc of where I'm taking the story with Cyn still being Ns sister, normally ppl swap Doll and Cyn... (ig Doll could still take Cyns place, I'd just need to see how to go about canonverse Dolls role)

Ron would take Khan's place, Tessa would take Noris place (they'd be more like friends raising kids together, maybe I make Nuke and Cyn orphaned Untrained networks that they adopted lol)

I'm debating if Khan just gets fully swapped with Ron, making Khan the guard at the door lol. Especially bc he would be less trusting than Canonverse Ron.

Same with full on swap between Nori and Tessa, as we don't know a lot about Noris personality for me to really figure out what I'd do with human Nori lol.

Also up for suggestions for V & J full names.

Well hi there! This is definitely something I will probably Eventually get around to bc I love love love cyberpunk settings. However right now it's really only in the most fledgling stage of concept 😅

This is the extent of the notes I have--

Cyberpunk/sci-fi au where Silver is a synthetic/created human who keeps getting his memory wiped bc he’s owned by a corporation and his job is espionage. So every time they put him on a new job he gets a new backstory so he can fit into the new situation/stand up to lie detectors. However every time his memory gets erased the emotional scars or trauma still remain so he is still all fucked up and just doesn’t know why. So if he’s a synth then he doesn’t have a childhood. But they would implant those memories so he would seem more real. Silver was created from scratch as like a late 20s dude, but I haven’t decided if I want Synths to age normally or have a lifespan like mayflies. Flint and his crew are raiders from the outskirts, the Walrus is a VTOL. The Walrus crew steal from convoys coming in and out of The City (there’s always a big night City in cyberpunk and then there are always outskirts). Sometimes they actually go into the City and like rob corporations. And that’s how they run into Silver. Nassau is a nomad/raider town in the outskirts. So it’s essentially a canon rehash in cyberpunk universe. This cribs a lot from Blade Runner and Interface Zero.

But right now my brain is Very in action-adventure canonverse, which is probably where it will live for the next several months as the current big project is finished.

In all your WIPs, do they all juggle canon? Or are there a few fantasy types like werewolf!yuuji and vampire!gojo or No-Curses!AU or Medieval-Kingdoms!AU?

Mer!AU? Yokai!AU? Magic-Schoolbus!AU? Superhero!AU? (tryna think of all the different AUs I can) daemon!AU? warlock!AU? Steven-Universe-fusion!AU? Soul-Eater!AU?

Admittingly so much potential but I know there are authors who like to use Canon more than bringing totally new elements.

I am indeed a canon juggler. Canon Frankenstein even.

Primarily that is. I do dip into full-on AUs, but my main preference is for canon divergence, plus other types of canon-based AUs like role reversal or time travel. Sometimes, I introduce new elements into canon—like somebody being a vampire in a setting that's otherwise adherent to canon or omegaverse set within canonverse. This tends to be the case for me across fandoms; the only exception I can think of is Yuri on Ice, and that's because I wasn't very confident about handling the canon setting (sports aspects that were a little more grounded in reality than your typical sports anime).

But, like I said, I do dabble in non-canon AUs. They just tend to be a tiny proportion of my total. This ask made me curious enough to go and count. At present, I have 88 plot bunniesdemons, of which 15 are fully written and 2 are WIPs. Those 17 are all canon-based. Of the rest, we have the following non-canon AUs (consider them to have every content warning you can think of):

Modern AU where Gojou is Megumi's adoptive father and Yuuji is Megumi's highschool best friend, and he comes to regret introducing Yuuji and Gojou (aka DILF Gojou AU, where he's a decade older than canon and Yuuji's his canon age).

Modern AU where Gojou used to be Yuuji's babysitter, took some liberties and kickstarted a less-than-healthy sexual awakening, and the two meeting again when Yuuji's a teen, this time with Gojou as his bodyguard.

Fantasy AU where Gojou and Sukuna are both gods and Yuuji's a dragon-human hybrid who semi-accidentally tumbles into both their beds, separately. Pure monsterfucking pornfest.

Modern AU where Gojou's a rich teen brat, Yuuji's his bodyguard, and Gojou's attempts at "seducing" Yuuji devolve predictably into some D/s fuckery.

Fantasy AU where Gojou's the devil and Nanami's the angel on Yuuji's shoulders, in a world where that's the norm. Fucking said devils and angels isn't so common, but Yuuji's adventurous that way. Macro/micro mostly.

Modern reincarnation AU where Sukuna's reborn as Yuuji's younger brother, and it takes everything Yuuji has not to smother him in his bed; it escalates into something very different. Then Gojou's thrown into the mix as Yuuji's high school upperclassman.

Fate-based AU with a Holy Grail War–Culling Games fusion where Yuuji summons Gojou, it turns out to be a weird causality loop, and Yuuji spends the bulk of his life trying to figure it out, summoning a Gojou who doesn't remember him over and over and over.

Youkai AU drawing on Natsume Yuujinchou for the vibes—something slow, quiet, and warm. Yuuji moves into a rundown mountain house in a sleepy village and makes friends he probably shouldn't.

That's it! A total of 8 out of 88. That's a far lower number than I expected, honestly. Some of the canon AUs are heavily divergent but still solidly set in canon as we know it. I guess I really love JJK's sandbox.

The shared ideas @nearalways and I develop together have a lot more non-canon AUs in them, but most of those won't be written by either of us.

Code Geass Lelouch of The Rebellion R2 Novels by Mamoru Iwasa // Non Canon

There are 4 novels for Code Geass R2, always written by Mamoru Iwasa, and a last one, the Knight of Rounds novels, which focuses mostly on Suzaku, Gino and Anya, as well as a part focused on Marianne. You can find additional info + Season 1 novels translations right here. Aside from the first one, Turn 1, R2 novels weren't translated in english like the season 1 novels and while the novels in japanese can be bought, and are actually available in chinese online, no one actually had the courage to translate those fully; **Still you can find some part of the novels which were translated amongst various places of the internet right below**

I'll be honest, I don't have it either, novels aren't very interesting to me since they are merely an interpretation from an author who isn't part of the writing team, so no canon information can be found, and i'm not a fan of this type of merchandising as i'm more of a fan of the CanonVerse than i am of the various AU/Fanon verse.

Season 1 novels were already translated and not much enjoyable to read for me, so i didn't read the R2 novels, that means unless someone is motivated enough, or if someday i am motivated enough, I'll only post some novel bits that can be found over the internet, or some summaries found in Animesuki when the novels aired ;

For Turn 3, you can find some tibdits that were translated, mostly about C.C., because you could get some interpretation by Iwasa about what could possibly go on within some character's head.

Original translation can be found there, I pasted it here because it's put in the middle of various texts about C.C., both mixing canon stuff and not canon one, so it's a bit messy to link it directly;

It's supposed to be an insight of Lelouch's thought after he comes back from C.C.'s inner world/past in Turn 15.

I’m ‘too kind’? What stupid words!

Who’s the one being ‘too kind’ here?

C.C., when you first made contract with me, you didn’t reveal anything. I was afraid that I was nothing more than a tool to end your eternal life. But now I know your weakness that differs you from the nun, the Code bearer from your past; you are too kind. No matter where you go, even when your body is immortal, your heart is still that of human. Whenever you make a contract, at first you have no feelings for your contractor. However after spending some time together with them, you change. As your heart longs for love the most, the girl longing for love would appear. You become confused, and finally come to conclusion: as long as the contractor grows to hate you***, they would leave you on their own. This way, you wouldn’t have to assign the same pain to them as the nun did to you. How stupid. You are really an idiot. Then why make contract? Wouldn’t it be meaningless? How could you have feelings for the person you intended to use?

Here’s one thing I can tell you clearly.

“Don’t underestimate me, C.C.! Do you think I didn’t know your weakness? Do you think I fell for your cheap ploys? For being manipulated by you, do you think I would hate you?”

(*) In the novel, it’s explained that one of the reasons C.C. sent Lelouch into her memory (and not just him, but many of her past contractors) is to make them hate her by showing them that she would ultimately betray them just like the nun did her. That is, if they haven’t hated her yet for ruining their life by giving them Geass.**

**This is one of the various instance where novels contradicts canon, as it was stated C.C. sent Lelouch within her past to actually protect him from the emperor, it is atually even stated by C.C.'s dark double herself who understood Lelouch was someone important to C.C. for her to send him over there My Own Thoughts : C.C.'s past didn't show her betraying her past contractors, it mostly showed how she came to acquire her geass and Code, the suffering she had to endure and the nun's betrayal, so it really doesn't make sense, Those image are unlikely to spread hatred, and Lelouch had already witnessed how C.C. was dealing with her past contractors with Mao, he didn't came to hate her anyway. R2 - Turn 4

It's a Monologue that Iwasa pictured right after C.C. and Lelouch's scene in Turn 23, after she comforted him about Zero Requiem being the right path to take.

‘I do not want to lose this man.’ Thought C.C. without any hesitancy. There’s a way for her not to lose him. However, he wouldn’t want to use this method, and even she… did not want to. Then what should she do? C.C. hadn’t come to understand the way of the world, even when she had lived for who knows how many years she still didn’t understand, had no way of knowing what is right and what is wrong, but she was sure of one thing. That he, the man named Lelouch Lamperouge, would not stop running toward death. He chose this path on his own will. He’s like a horse that couldn’t be stopped. She wanted to blame him, but couldn’t… She wanted to cry, but couldn’t. So… "Lelouch.” He said “Hm,” in response. “Do you remember, that time in Narita?” C.C. asked a bit out of the blue, that Lelouch felt a little confused. “Why suddenly…” She leaned on his back, then continued, “Why snow is white?” There’s an instant blank, before Lelouch immediately answered, “Because it forgot its original color.” “Then do you remember, Lelouch? Your original color.” “Stupid question,” he replied, finally back to his conceited tone. “I am me, I would never forget.” “Is that so…” “What about you, C.C.? Do you remember your original color?” “Who knows, but -” “But?” “At least right now, my color is your color, Lelouch.” Silence came. Then Lelouch laughed softly. “You selfish.” “Of course,” she wanted to cry a little - but instead, her face revealed a smile from the bottom of her heart, “it’s because I’m C.C.”

Another scene that was summarized is the Lelouch/C.C. hangar scene from Turn 24, you can see it in it's own post, once again by Mononoke no Ko, so no need to copy paste this time it's right here

My own Thoughts : Basically it doesn't say anything new, Iwasa tries to expand on the position of Lelouch and C.C. (But since we saw the whole scene between them without any cut till they even stumbled from the Guren crash, it's yet another contradiction with canon)

And the final scene which was translated is the ending of Turn 4, which is basically giving food to Lelouch is alive theorists, when, once again, this novelization contradicts canon in every way, shape or form, as you can see in this post here

The wagon was filled with hay. There was a girl sitting on it with waist long hair and incredible appearance, that's the first impression she gives to others. She was focused on folding a japanese origami, something completely irrelevant to the surroundings. Finally, the origami gradually took shape, it was a crane. The girl gazed satisfactorily at the crane for some moments before putting it on the hay. Then after stretching her body, she laid down on the hay vigorously, the wagon shook slightly, the horseman glanced backward without turning around. The girl didn't care, she inhaled the smell of the herbs bathed in sunlight, stared up at the sky and smiled sweetly. Then-

"The power of kings, Geass, will make you lonely." The blissful and ringing voice of C.C. echoed in the sky. "Heh, not at all, right, Lelouch?"

The horseman holding the reins still, glanced back. Before turning around, a faint smile suddenly appeared at the corners of his mouth. The wagon continued moving forward slowly with the pull of two bad horses.

The weather was mild and sunny. The sky was cloudless.

Knight of Rounds Novel

Knights of Rounds (a novel following Suzaku alongside Gino and Anya, set mostly during the time between R1 and R2, although there is a special chapter that goes into the past and follows Marianne as a Knight of Rounds before she became an Empress) Once again, not much was translated, and I can't blame people on that, still you can find a translation of the first chapter about Gino by the amazingly motivated Ellen right there

For the Marianne chapter, I read it a long time ago and I only remember she was quite blood thirsty and mostly seemed to care for her children as long as they didn't get in her way (so very fitting with the Canon Marianne)

That's it for the R2 novels, There will probably a third post about miscelleanous novels, like the Talkin Rebellion that can be found in the Guidebook, But I won't mix those in there, they'll have their own post. Hope you enjoyed !
