building off of this post, people love to say that “trans men want to keep going into in women’s spaces after they transition because they just want to have the best of both worlds!” but in my experience, there are four main reasons that a trans man might use a “women’s space” after they transition:

it’s an important resource that’s being arbitrarily gendered and we need to use it regardless of which gender is “supposed to” be using it.

it’s a public facility where we’d be significantly less safe in the men’s version and we have to choose our safety over our desire to not be misgendered.

it’s a social space that we’ve been in since before we transitioned and we don’t want to suddenly be cut off from our friends and support system.

the trans man in question is multigender and is also a woman, or maintains some other kind of connection to womanhood alongside their manhood.

do any of those sound like “evil men rubbing our dirty little hands together making plans for how we’re going to get male privilege without losing access to women’s spaces” to you? they sure don’t to me!

i think it’s pretty reasonable that we want to transition without losing the ability to access the resources we need, keep ourselves safe, keep up the relationships we’ve built, and express all facets of who we are. all of those are really, like, pretty basic parts of having good life and we shouldn’t be expected to give them up when we transition.

and honestly, if you claim to care about trans people, you should not be so attached to the gendering of these spaces that you’re willing to deny trans men those things for the sake of upholding gender restrictions. anyone who prioritizes the sanctity of gender segregated spaces over the safety, health, and well-being of trans men is a fucking transphobe. (yes, even if you’re trans yourself.)

and that’s what really gets me about all of this — the vehemence with which people are willing to defend those spaces being entirely and inflexibly gendered, despite how enforcement of gendered spaces has hurt trans people time and time again. gendered spaces have literally always been set up in ways that force trans people to break the rules; some trans men might break those rules in ways that don’t make sense to you, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong for us to do so! it just means you might feel weird about it and that’s okay, discomfort won’t kill you.

and who are you to tell trans men what the point of our transitions should be? what if the purpose of us transitioning is just to live the happiest and most fulfilled life possible, and forcing ourselves into unsafe spaces or denying ourselves access to important resources or cutting ourselves off from important people in our lives or pushing down the more complex parts of our genders would “defeat the purpose of transitioning” for us? what if being able to go where cis men go is just one part of a much bigger journey, not the end goal?

if you really want to talk about “defeating the purpose,” let’s talk about how policing which gendered spaces trans men can access defeats the purpose of trying to stop cis people from policing which gendered spaces trans people can access, because it allows the policing of trans people in gendered spaces to continue in some form instead of eliminating it altogether. let’s talk about how using “evil men invading women’s spaces” rhetoric against trans men defeats the purpose of trying to stop cis people from using it against trans women, because it allows the rhetoric to continue in some form instead of eliminating it altogether.

the point of saying “let people decide which gendered space is right for them” isn’t to make sure everyone uses the one aligned with their “true gender,” it’s to let people do what’s best for them without punishing them for their choice. sometimes the best choice is one that seems wrong from the outside, and you need to learn to live with that.

i just think we as a community need to be more hostile toward people who think upholding the sanctity of a gendered space is more important than giving trans people the freedom to move through the world without being punished for existing in those gendered spaces. that kind of thinking is fucking dangerous and it’s weird as hell that some of y’all are so comfortable with it being directed at us.

moral of the story: stop giving so much of a shit about where a trans man decides to piss or see a doctor or hang out or whatever else. even if you think he doesn’t belong there, he probably has a good reason to be there anyway, and that reason is frankly none of your damn business.

i finally articulated my opinion on my "is gerard way doing drag" question. my definition of drag is when a person impersonates, exaggerates, or appropriates a mode of gender expression. drag can be artistic or political (or both). drag can be an identity. drag and transgender identity are confused as the same thing. for some, it is. what is considered cross dressing can also be considered drag. it's important to note that drag is essential to queer culture, and how the us government harasses queer people through cross dressing, and now anti-drag, laws. we wouldnt be here talking about pop artists doing drag without drag performers and nonbinary-trans-gnc people.

to some people, a self-identified man in a female-identified dress is drag. "cross dressing" depends on cishet norms. queer people, especially nonbinary-trans-gnc people, have called to dismantle the assignment of gender to clothing. under that lens, a man in a dress is just a man in a dress -- for it to be drag, context and intent matters. that's how you get women doing female drag, or androgynous people doing what gerard way's been doing this last year on tour.

in asking "is gerard way doing drag?", im assigning importance to the topic. does it matter? within my understanding, drag is about intent and context as much as gender presentation. intent and context is what makes something important. therefore: understanding why the question is important solves it.

male music artists have a long history of cross dressing and doing drag. there's a good chance plugging any dude into a search engine with "drag" or "skirt" will bring something up. bowie, queen, nirvana, manic street preachers, placebo. here's a list. newer artists: lil nas x, harry styles, anthony green, pete wentz, young thug. some are impersonating female caricatures, some are masculinizing female clothes (long, ill-fitting, straight). some, like molko and lil nas, wear feminine clothes without exaggerating or masculinizing. gerard is in that same grey area.

all that history is why it was so weird when kerrang called gerard's riot fest "dress and heels" "a compelling show of contrarian anti-rock star eccentricity". it is not anti-rock star, at least not as described. it may be compelling, contrarian, and eccentric, but no reviewer really cares to analyze why. the closest they get is by identifying non-binary connection (them.us) and its relation to the "minefield that is American gender politics today" (latimes.com).

fans were struck by way's outfits for a lot of other reasons.

1. we have to get it out of the way that they just looked hot -- gerard is perpetually attractive, skirts are pretty. easy equation.

2. he has a long history of gender nonconformity. more on that in my #mcr queer studies tag. gerard is a 45 year old famously androgynous person who doesnt do labels, aligns himself with gender nonconformity (2014 reddit ama, 2018 advocate article, 2015 he/they tweet), and doesnt seem to care to be known as a man.

3. the tour outfits were well-fitted. many were crafted by skilled designer marina toybina and her team. which leads to ->

4. the outfits were very casual and very feminine. as mentioned, most men opt for masculine, ill-fitting skirts. which is to say they are NOT showing leg and they are definitely not showing ass. gerard doesnt steer clear from shortness or tightness or movement. he also dresses in ways people dress day to day -- the miniskirt is as casual as the shorts as casual as the jeans. there's some discussion to be had about what casual means -- he could be imitating expected presentation or just using basics, like his frequent shirt and pants.

5. there was variety. many outfits, many types. he wasnt just doing pure femininity. some looks were high concept, some low concept. some gendered, some genderless. some feminine, some masculine. it was playful. its honesty evident in its fluidity yet cohesiveness. expanded in the next points ->

6. they incorporate elements of masculinity and gender neutrality concurrent with the feminine. his aggressive, energetic performance style often doesnt mind what people are seeing when his skirt lifts or shirt droops. he has little to no make-up -- if he does, it's stage and not glam. the closest he gets is the agender black swan look at boston night 1, the stage contour at wwwy night 3, and dubious lipstick at firefly. he also maintains the same hairstyle: barely styled, not straightened-curled. pinned a few times, gelled back some other times.

7. the character outfits weren't caricatures, like green's sleazy hooker or queen's uptight housewives. gerard's characters were appropriated but not exaggerated. cheerleader, nurse, manson girl, jackie o, princess diane, st joan. all figures of pop culture. he wore them as they were. even comparing green and way's similar white-green cheerleader costumes there's a difference in presentation. green wears long leggings, way wears shorts. green's costume is based on a stranger things character, way's is a custom remade vintage outfit. green exhibits the masculinization of feminine clothes which way subverts. this comparison highlights what makes way's outfits different, and therefore exciting to talk about.

8. and when he played with masculinity, it was in a way that was dubbed "boydrag". the new jersey night 2 casino singer look was a dramatic caricature that heightened masculine features until they were pure style... the defintion of camp. he had a mustache -- thin like john waters or a confirmed bachelor, and drawn on with eyeliner. he had a suit -- a pink-gold, glittery woman's cut jacket with a glittery bowtie and pleated shirt. the dramatic flair is accentuated by the black eye make-up, the frank sinatra "my way" cover, the drum tag: "the house always wins".

when i asked which outfits others considered drag, all replies identified the casino singer and jackie o as drag and the rest as "just clothes". this relation made me understand why the rest couldnt be drag despite all the connections i talked about above. the jackie o outfit doesnt exaggerate the source like casino singer, but the source itself is both highly dramatic and highly gendered. cheer is gendered but not highly dramatic, st joan dramatic but not highly gendered. diane is gendered and dramatic, but not highly. the list goes on and on. it's a fine line. especially cheer could tip into drag for me.

if drag is understood in this way, simply wearing gendered clothes isnt drag. the look itself has to be about the performance of gender, however that may be presented. that’s the importance of classification. we can see what the artist is doing.

"do you have a problem with me brewing tea? would you perhaps also like a cup?" you asked as you poured the hot water over the tea. the see-through water turning a warm yellow-orange almost instantly.

"oh no no- i just really don't get how someone could be so obsessed with something as simple as a cup of tea. it seems like a waste of time... i mean leaf water is all it really is, isn't it?" he answered and finally turned, his ever smug face present on his oh-so pretty face.

you really wanted to repeatedly slam it into the frozen ground so nothing was left but a clumpy mush of hair, bone, brain matter and blood.

who knows, with a little sugar it might make a good tea... then again you heard somewhere that human brain causes an incurable disease.

you watched him unimpressed as he sat opposite of you, your hand couldn't help but twitch in slight annoyance.

of course, he noticed.

"hah- you're to easy- as soon as i start talking bad about your 'passion', i press your buttons more and more- come on i know just raging inside. haha you really can't keep your emotions in check. what a bad example for a fatui harbinger" he laughed doen on you, as his eyes sharpened.

he took a glance at the steaming cup and then back to you. his before confused face turned sly again, he took his cup to his lips and for a second you really thought he was gonna drink it.

but rather he collected a good amount of spit in his mouth, before disrespecting the golden water by spitting in it.

your grip on your cup tightened and your eyebrow twitched.

he stared at you the whole time he did it. intensely so. you saw something flicker in his eyes you couldn't quite read.

he set his cup back down, and took advantage of your shock as he took your own cup and downed it like it was fire water. another disrespecting move on his side.

(he regretted that since it burned his mouth, throat and stomach. he would have to deal with that later)

with a seemingly innocent grin he pushed his cup to you.

"i'm offering you my tea as a peacemaking contract, drink it and i'm never going to bother you again" he chuckled, he had to hold back his laughter.

so he thinks he has won, huh?

you face turned cold again, and with slow hands you reached for the cup. you could still see the thick bubblly liquid swimming on top of your his (your?) tea.

with stared at him the whole time.

scanning his cute little face twitch and change into confusion, shock then disgust. it was amusing to see.

your lips met his cups rim and you took a sip out of the cup. you both stared each other down, no one wanting to submit, to admit defeat and back off.

with your second sip you finished the small cup and you set it down back on the table.

he felt shivers down his spine when you licked your lips, getting each and every last drop of the hot liquid before you hummed in delight.

"it had quite the taste to it. maybe i should let you spit in my tea more often, or maybe put in something different from your body"

"now then, it is time for me to take my leave, since we're on even ground now we have nothing to talk about anymore no? our request has been fulfilled" and thus you left. and had you been turned around you would have seen the blush covering his face ears and neck.

How in the fuck are you going to be anti trans and a Good Omens fan as if both the book and the show don’t explicitly establish the existence of several nonbinary characters and both Aziraphale and Crowley themselves are genderless beings

Not to mention both David and Michael’s staunch support of the LGBT (really emphasizing the T here, since you love to drop it) community as a whole, and David literally has a trans child

Part of me is even asking this in good faith because how do you see a series that is so incredibly queer and like it considering how much you shit-talk trans people on your lackluster TERF blog

There’s many reasons, actually! I’ll explain them in good faith, because I think that people who ask questions like this don’t understand the perspective of so-called “terfs” and assume we think like you do.

Firstly, I’m a feminist, so I’m used to media not aligning with my politics. I expect it, actually. Down to very simple things, like knowing I’m never going to go into a show and see a woman just existing with body hair like men do in shows all the time. But I’m comfortable and confident enough in my beliefs that I can consume media that doesn’t align with them. This extends to my feelings regarding gender. A they/them character doesn’t make my head explode, it’s just the same for me as seeing a Christian character (like Ella from Netlix’s Lucifer) or a female character who’s pro-beauty culture (like Elinor from First Kill). It’s a representation of a belief I don’t agree with and personally don’t believe in, that’s all.

Secondly, Good Omens is set in a made up universe with fantasy themes. I can easily get behind the idea that the true forms of angels and demons are genderless, because that makes sense to me in the same way God being genderless makes sense to me. This doesn’t have to carry over to me believing that humans can be genderless (I don’t believe in the concept of internal gender identity, because I don’t believe in souls. So I guess the better way to put this is that I don’t believe humans can be sexless unless we’re using gender and sex as synonyms). In the same way that it makes sense to me that angels and demons have souls that are put into bodies issued to them…but I don’t have to believe that also applies to humans. Or how it makes sense to me that Aziraphale and Crowley could survive without food, water, and sleep…but I don’t have to believe that also applies to humans. Etc. etc.

Basically, just because something is in a fantasy show, doesn’t mean I have to believe it’s real.

Thirdly, what the actors do in their own lives is none of my business. I don’t agree with supporting the TQ+ especially in relation to LGB (considering they’ve made it a primary goal to harass lesbians into pretending we can like penis, and to take every chance they get to express their hatred for homosexuality. I love to drop the T because they dropped me and my fellow homosexuals years ago). If two straight male actors want to do that, whatever. I also don’t agree with Sheen having a baby with a woman his daughter’s age, but that hasn’t stopped me from watching the show or appreciating his talent.

This all takes me back to what I said about believing you don’t truly understand the perspective of those you call “terfs”. Just because you might not be able to comprehend watching and enjoying something that doesn’t perfectly align with your worldview, doesn’t mean others feel the same. For example, many radical and rad-leaning feminists enjoyed the Barbie movie, despite it not being radical feminist. We’re capable of watching and enjoying things we don’t agree with, and of having discussions about why we don’t agree with it.

A much simpler answer to your question would be: I’ve always loved angels and demons and all things supernatural. I’ve always loved old cars. I love Queen. Religious/moral commentary and critique interest me. I love lighthearted comedies. I’m gay and starved for representation of healthy gay relationships. I love gay star-crossed lovers stories (go watch First Kill). Naturally, I’m going to love Good Omens, even if it doesn’t perfectly align with my worldview.

my transmasc nonbinary ex said that they keep getting gendered as female when going out, especially now that they're off testosterone, and that they're not opposed to it per se but it just gets tiring to be called the same thing all the time and they wish people would switch it up every now and then (so they feel more validated as enby)

i remember what it was like when i had nonbinary dysphoria and it was almost like a game. like you want a good ratio of being gendered as male vs female. they were gendered as male for long enough for years that they got actually dysphoric from it, like they got miserable living 100% as male. so now they're in-between. they've had top surgery, they have stubble but always shave it and want to get laser for it (they don't enjoy anything they rly got from hrt afaik, they just "needed something to happen" and top surgery was taking a while to happen at the time). so they're androgynous, but they're hyperfixated on how others view them. it's obviously not what they always think about, but enough to notice and keep track. if they only get gendered as female that month they get uncomfortable. if they only get gendered as male another month they get uncomfortable. it must be so fucking annoying. it was for me, anyway. like never feeling satisfied w how others view you, bc what you want is basically impossible unless you were super dedicated every single day to curating your appearance to pass differently

sometimes i feel like telling them just be yourself, even cis ppl get misgendered, try to feel secure in yourself and all the other bullshit will fade away. strangers only take a quick glance at you and your sex characteristics. and if you have an afab-typical body outside of a flat chest, and you wear stylish clothes, and you're conventionally pretty... and have shaved your stubble... i mean yeah, ppl are gonna think you're afab, and they use the typical sex-based pronouns associated w that. it sucks though. nonbinary ppl, including me from back then, tend to daydream abt a world where ppl would just be able to tell they identified as nonbinary and used they/them or did the "oh miss... i mean sir! sorry" thing every time. they're seeking that rush of "omg i did the nb thing!!" even though they themselves will use she or he for others unless the person is alternative enough & androgynous enough where they cannot believe the person is at peace w their sex. they'll say all day long that nonbinary isn't a look or a behavior but they really go against that aaall the time!!! honestly often the word nonbinary is basically synonym with "androgynous" in how it's used, and other times as a nebulous identity based on the understanding that everyone has an inner womanly or manly feelings inside their head except for special enbies. some nonbinary ppl are androgynous, others genuinely for all intent and purposes are considered gender conforming in society. sometimes i think that's to the detriment of genuinely androgynous folks (nonbinary-identified or not) who face the blunt of anti-gnc hatred

honestly once i embraced being a female human life seemed kinda boring at first bc i didn't get those "omg i reached androgyny!!" rushes anymore. it's like the game was over bc i aligned w my sex as a neutral fact. and all that energy i had focused on gender stuff i now put towards just seeing myself as a human who happened to be female, and would be female no matter what, and no matter what ppl thought it doesn't change the body type i was born in. i'm just like any other female animal. it means absolutely nothing. ppl can think i'm a dude all the time and i just laugh it off bc i know what i am, it's like a funny little secret i have when i get misgendered. but trans ppl don't view it like that... i wonder, what if they desensitized themselves to misgendering and found security in themselves and confidence in their identity? even while still identifying as trans etc? what if they could learn to laugh too cuz they know what they are? i feel like that's what they should work on instead of changing the world around them and feeling bummed out everytime they don't win at gender

i hate how many trans people are trying to do a "man/woman refer to gender and male/female refer to sex" because, like...

people constantly use male and female for gender and people constantly use man and woman for sex, because the vast majority of perisex cis people doesn't know the difference.

i mean, i literally got invited to a cervical screening recently where they called everyone with a cervix women, clearly using the word "woman" to describe a single sex characteristic.

on the other hand, i constantly have to fill out things that ask me to put down my gender as either male or female.

there's literally no difference in how these terms are used except that one is a noun and one is an adjective.

it's especially fucked up to see other trans people do this because it just sounds like they want me to be ok with being called female, despite it being misgendering.

but their argument makes it sound like it's not actually misgendering because "actually it's referring to sex".

like, we literally went through that "male-bodied" and "female-bodied" misgendering bullshit. why are you trying to bring it back.

and every time someone says this, people are always like "but trans women don't want to be called male and vice versa", somehow forgetting that maybe nonbinary people don't want to be misgendered either.

and the people making that crappy point in the first place always end up saying "but they're not male or female because of HRT/surgery!" basically implying that it's totally okay to misgender non-medically-transitioned people as male or female.

respectfully, shut the fuck up forever. trans women can call themselves female as much as they want, no matter what transition steps they've done. trans men can call themselves male as much as they want, no matter what transition steps they've done.

and trans and nonbinary people have the right to not be misgendered in alignment with their AGAB.

no matter how much mental gymnastics you try to do, i'll never be female again, and calling me female will never not be misgendering.

(Content Warning: Pretty much everything, but especially transmisia, particularly transmisogyny, eugenics and other Nazi rhetoric, racism, intersexism, slur usage, mentions of not sfw topics/not sfw sentences and mentions of sexual assault. Reader discretion is especially advised on this, as this is probably one of the most triggering posts I've ever created). Additional Disclaimer: Like with my "Let's Talk about Exclusionists" post, I've collected multiple screenshots of the horrid things TERFs and other Radfems have said or done. Not all of those screenshots are mine, some of them are things I have found on the web. Credits to especially radfemstruggles (Twitter), terfism-harms-women, terf-cringe and other anti-terf pages/blogs I've found these on. As always, I don't condone harassment. Just because someone is a TERF doesn't give you the right to harass them, especially considering a good chunk of TERFs I've noticed are literal teenagers (of course, that never excuses their actions). Just report them and block. Pride month is over, but that doesn't mean queer folks are going away.

However, neither are the bigots, and especially not the TERFs. Nope. They're still out there and as harmful as ever. "Now, wait a minute Shadow. What even *IS* a TERF anyway?" Well, you're gonna be in for one hell of a ride, so buckle up sunshine.

TERF is short for Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist. Put simply, Transphobic "feminists". TERFs align themselves with Radical Feminism- Radfem for short, a very extreme branch of feminism. However, not every Radfem is a TERF, though Radfems are still best to be avoided due to their extreme ideology. (Likewise, not every feminist is a Radfem, let alone a TERF). How to Identify a TERF: Common Dogwhistles and Nicknames. TERFs won't call themselves a TERF by themselves. In fact, some consider the term to be a slur (News flash: no it is fucking not lmfao). There are many dogwhistles, and I can't fit all of them in here. However here's the most common ones: Gender Critical - a very *VERY* common identifer by TERFs. MERF - Short for Male Exclusionary Radical Feminist. It basically calls trans women men and also ignores the fact that there are, contrary to popular belief, men that are also feminists. "TERF is a slur/Cis is a slur" - A common dogwhistle. The latter is also used by transphobes in general. Misandrist/Proud Misandrist - Misandrist refers to hatred of men. The term originated from misogynists as a counter to feminism, however the term has been reclaimed by radfems. However, a good majority of folks who identify with this term are transphobic, so it should best be avoided. Womyn/Wombyn and their varients - Alternative spellings of "woman/women". Per Wikipedia, "Some writers who use such alternative spellings, avoiding the suffix "-man" or "-men", see them as an expression of female independence and a repudiation of traditions that define women by reference to a male norm." The term "womxn" is also used in some cases, however that term should not be a sole identifier, as "womxn" is also sometimes used by agender individuals. "Womyn" alone is also not a sole identifier, as there are some who try to reclaim it (that and there's also something about it being used in AAVE, but I can't find much info on that). However, "Womyn-born woman" should be an instant red flag. KAM - Short for K-ll all men (i). Even without the TERFy connections, I don't think I need to explain why this is bad. --It should also be noted that any variation of "all men are trash" is inherently TERFy, no matter how you look at it. You'll see why in a bit. Hygenic - Another term used by TERFs. It also references eugenics, explained further in this post. FebFem - Short for "Female Exclusive Bisexual Female". This term is common in TERF spaces, especially with Bi TERFs. However, there have been attempts to reclaim the term from the group. Similar groups that overlap - Should also be avoided:

SWERF - Short for Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminist. This group is against the objectification of women, sex trafficking and the exploitation of women in pornography. Sounds harmless right? Wrong. While it appears good intentioned at first, most SWERFs are against sex work overall, believing that women can't *truly* partake in sex work willingly. This group also overlaps with TERFs, 99% of the time, though not every SWERF is a TERF. Due to sex work being a topic that gets pretty NSFW, I won't be going over this group in this post any further outside of mentions, since I'm not qualified to talk about NSFW topics as a minor. There are, however, probably several other posts that talk about this particular group. TEHM - Short for Trans Exclusionary Homosexual Males. The same as TERFs, but with homosexual men instead of women. Enby Skeptics - A group skeptical of nonbinary identities, as shown by the name. Some TERFs may identify with this term. Longsword Lesbian/Gravity Knife Gays/Gold Star Lesbian - See here for more information regarding these groups. LGB/LGB Drop the T - A movement that claims that being Trans isn't queer. It should go without saying - TERFs aren't harmless. TERFs aren't just some weird basement dwellers on the internet. Nope. They exist *everywhere*. You know JK Rowling? She's a TERF! And probably one of the most recognizable TERFs out there (she's also a lot more bigoted beyond transphobia, so yeah). However, this post will mostly cover the online aspect of TERFism, since even the online world can seep into danger in real life. So, without further ado, let's get into the hate. Note: This post covers Radical Feminism in general, however the main focus is TERFs and similar groups. Of course, you have the transphobia, slurs and suibait.

However, the transphobia, as despicable as it is, is not the only thing that makes TERFs dangerous. TERFs have also even went as far as to advocate for violence, as shown here.

Notice how Radfems talk about abuse, particularly sexual abuse. In conversations regarding such a topic, women are usually brought up as the victims. Male victims are almost never mentioned, and when you bring them up they accuse you of not caring about male victims because you brought them up when talking about women. Well, you might not think much of it, but it goes deeper than just misinformation and being insensitive. TERFs don't care about male victims either. In fact, they don't care about sexual assault survivors at all if you look hard enough. In fact, if the victim is a male, they actually *encourage* it. And will sometimes admit to even *wanting* to do the same thing to men. Here's one *literally* repeating a common misogynistic argument, but with men at the focus.

Here's one straight up admitting to want to abuse people.

A while back, I reblogged a that talked about TERFs using the word "hygienic" to mean "cis", like this individual shown below (Edit: link and reblog removed since OP fit my DNI + one of the folks adding to it was hacked and became a scambot, and I'd rather not expose people to that).

Well, someone in the comments of said post mentioned that it reminded them of "Racial Hygiene". Now, what is "Racial Hygiene"? Well... according to Wikipedia, it refers to "an approach to eugenics in the early 20th century, which found its most extensive implementation in Nazi Germany (Nazi eugenics)." So basically, it's eugenics. Specifically, Nazi eugenics. And with TERFs using the term "hygienic", they're saying that Trans people are inherently dirty by genetics. You might think this is a reach, but with everything shown here, there's clearly more to it.

Then again, what else do you expect from folks who do *this*

They do not care about sexual assault survivors. They do not care about women of color. They do not care about disabled women. In fact, they only advocate for the very abuse they claim to be against. They advocate for the racism and nazism they claim to be against. Don't let them fool you.

Your recent couple reblogs has me wondering something, that maybe you have more perspective on given your own experiences with gender.

Often times I’ll hear bigender, genderfluid, and various flavors of nonbinary people talk as if they are (in a political sense) both man and woman (also sometimes TME and TMA using the same logic)

I get it in terms of self-identification, but in terms of how society treats us, I’m skeptical that the current oppressively gendered system has room for that kind of nuance.

I think it’s just because I’m a trans woman and at the end of the day I get treated as a fag regardless if people see me as a man or woman, so I don’t get the option anyway lol

But I also kinda feel like I’m just rehashing “there are only 2 genders!!” but from a leftist angle, which also sucks

i mean this is like a really tough question that i don't think there's a good answer to because there's not really any difference btwn "being a man/woman" vs. "being a man/woman politically" and by that i mean when you ask what "being a man/woman" means the only good answer to that question i can come up with is "they're labels that indicates one's relationship to patriarchy" but even that answer isn't especially helpful in this situation because 1. that's basically the function of gender identity labels is to describe one's relationship to gender and indicate how they navigate the system whether they're "binary" or not and 2. there is no litmus test for who "counts" as a man or a woman because if you go around and ask people why they identify this way you'll get a hundred different answers even if the people you ask label themselves in the same way because gender identity at the end of the day not only has to do w/ the gendered messaging you are subject to from society (which includes violence) and then how you personally rationalize and respond to it.

the thing is that there are many different avenues of being gendered so i'd say that yeah, someone can be both a man and a woman if they believe their experiences align w/ that, but the reasons for why someone believes that, like i said, are going to widely vary. someone might be legally considered female but be gendered as male in a bunch of other contexts and they might factor that experience in to their gender identity. someone might be legally considered male but be gendered as female or subject to misogyny in a bunch of other contexts and they might factor that experience in to their gender identity. but it's not as if legally being male = you can wield that simple fact to enact gendered violence (which plenty of transfem and other camab trans ppl are aware of, i'm sure) and access the gendered privileges that one might associate with maleness, and it's not as if legally being female = one is entirely excluded from enacting gendered violence or accessing gendered privileges. it's messy. those are two very simplistic examples that include the word "might" because a the end of the day, there aren't any rules that determine who is "actually" what because the series of "tests" that society subjects us to in order to determine that are incoherent, since gender has no essence to it. it's not nuance, its nonsense.

transmisogynists insist that genitalia or assigned sex determines how you're gendered but a cashier once told me that he thought i was a man because i was wearing flannel. the only assumption i can make as to why other people read me as having been camab (i say that because people often either insist i'm a man or they've told me they thought i was transfem at first) is because i have some physical features that society labels as "male" and some of my autism/ADHD traits are ones that society also labels as "male" (e.g. lack of volume control making me very loud.) those are also very simple examples because ofc much more goes into gendered violence than just how random people w/o institutional power perceive you, but the point is that gender's rules are pretty nonsensical based on how people actually apply them. i have a social experience that one could arguably call "both male and female" but that doesn't feel like at all an accurate assessment of what it's like for me whatsoever (enough that it feels like misgendering) - and i certainly don't see myself as "tma." that being said, i think i'm one of those people who can't be neatly sorted into "socially located as female" vs. "socially located as male." i think i'm socially located as a (tme) marginalized gender subject, but that kind of subjective experience isn't the norm.

that doesn't mean there aren't experiences that are typical of womanhood or experiences that are typical of manhood. if there weren't then the whole framework of patriarchy and misogyny wouldn't hold up very well. but the "typical" part is kinda key because acting as if there is some singular, concrete thing that distinguishes the "male experience" from the "female experience" is conceding the point that men and women are essentially different, which is something that reinforces patriarchy rather than deconstructing it, and "men oppress women" is not a singular, concrete thing to me in this instance because the ways in which that tangibly occurs are incredibly varied and complex, with a myriad of factors always being involved, which is a fact that people like MRAs and transmisogynists will try to exploit for the sake of their (trans)misogynistic views.

so it's like, at the end of the day, yeah - binaries are bullshit, but also we need what some might call vague generalizing/binaristic language for the sake of discussing literally anything at all in a way that is comprehensible. the frameworks/concepts of patriarchy and (trans)misogyny don't suddenly fall apart if we acknowledge the ~nuance~ of how gender works and is affected by different factors because the whole point is that these things are deeply embedded, broader sociocultural trends, not that they're absolute rules with zero exceptions in what some discussion about them might sometimes imply. (trans) men being subjected to violence that is defined by or wrapped up in (trans)misogyny or (trans) women circumstantially also wielding (trans)misogyny against other (trans)women doesn't mean that (trans)misogyny shouldn't be about (trans) women.

the issue here, i think, doesn't have to do w/ how someone identifies (that dog won't hunt) so much as how they actually grapple with that complexity and how they use it to relate to others. to use an example from that one post i rb'd earlier, someone labeling themselves as a "transfemmasc gaybilesbian" and then talking about how oppressive and evil and binaristic both assigned sex labels and the label "tme" is, is - in practice - someone who is against any concise language happening irt discussion of transmisogyny, and - in addition - any concise language that would denote whether they're someone who is capable of enacting gendered violence against trans women in the way only non-trans women can. and then it gets 10x worse when you see that same person reblogging posts about how transmisandry real and trans womanhood is not a gender category that sits beneath trans manhood on a hierarchical scale.

if trans women can't use "transfem" to talk about transmisogyny, can't use "camab/cafab," and can't use "tme/tma," then they can't use anything. this usually happens in the case of trans other trans people who are, in fact, tme, and them being tme is part of what enables them to be able to do this in the first place, because it is apparent to anyone who pays attention that trans women and other camab trans people are typically not afforded the same room to treat gender identity like a playground in the way that tme trans people are, when looking at things from the perspective of transmisogyny.

like, at that point, i can only assume you believe yourself to be incapable of gendered violence in any meaningful sense/are dodging any sense of accountability, and are using the obfuscation of difference and meaning of terms to your advantage as someone who does in fact possess privilege in terms of gender, lol. everyone does to some extent when you include factors that significantly affect one's relationship to the gender binary such as race, disability, etc.

Contemptible Youth: Evander grew up amongst a gang of orphans in Limsa Lominsa. Were you a fellow Limsan wharf rat? Were you a criminal? Did you just spend a lot of time in the wrong parts of town? It’s been a while, but you might recognize him.

Easy Mark: Evander often finds it easier to fly under the radar and avoid notice. To this end, he often tries to exude an air of hapless gullibility. Feel free to try and rope him into some con or scheme!

Yeah, Okay: These are Evander’s words to live by. It’s not that he can’t say no, so much as he’s learned that “yes” is usually the more interesting answer. Catch him in the right mood, and he’s likely to go along with almost any hare-brained plan.

Old Habits Die Hard: A part of him yearns to live a good, decent, upright life. The problem is that part of him gets bored very quickly. Lately, he’s found himself increasingly likely to drawn to less-than-legal endeavors to keep himself occupied.

People Person: Whether it’s meeting someone new, getting to know an old friend better, or even making a new rival, frenemy or worse, he just loves people at the end of the day. Don’t be shy. You don’t need an excuse. Just come say hi!

🍒 Ace Trappola (Persistence)

✲ Usually, they say that facial expressions can make or break a case. And with Ace, he breaks that rule. He is a very expressive boy, but only for a certain type of look that could mean mischievous or upset. And his smirk as he actually tried to flirt… mischievous.

✲ And your body starts the sweating process from how nervous you are, and you lower your eyes as he flirts. You don't respond, you just let him go on until… you dart away, your eyes darting around nervously!

✲ Ace freezes, and is so shocked! His body movement and posture show how he couldn't believe thisーand if Deuce didn't run into him, he'd be shocked still, standing in the hall.

✲ Ace is nervous on the inside he might have been rejected so easily, but Deuce and Jack calm him down before he blows a casket. You have been known as the quietest kid in class; you don't speak to defend yourself or to take action, only seemingly at random for yourself. Sebek even offers you might be… shy!

✲ Oh, that would make sense (and not wound his ego), so he'll take Jack's slower approach in mind! He'll make eye contact with you, a handsome man with eyes he could easily train on with no nervousness…

✲ He might even lean on a wall, or lean into you in a hallway to get you this time. Your eyes dart around but he's leveling his eyes with yours…

✲ And he says with a clear voice and steady tone, "I like you a lot, pretty boy! Would you like to go ut with me?" He might have come off a bit teasing, but he's a very… tricky guy!

🧉Kalim al-Asim (Gifts)

✲ Kalim didn't know he liked you until someone wise brought up his habits around you (Lilia, actually). Kalim's face lit up in a new and strange way, unlike seeing Jamil or Cater come from the hallway. His face heated and he noticeably chewed his lower lip to Lilia.

✲ He judges body movement and posture like he views good food… openly and want to devour! He does feel anxious as he suddenly hugs you, and he backs off to remember his manners… but this happens over and over, showing consistent behavior.

✲ Confessing to a shy, quiet boyfriend would be gestures via gift giving! He has money from his family, and he isn't afraid to buy you things that might interest you (or remind him of you).

✲ Oh, and when you basically freeze up and go radio silent for a short amount of time (because your nervous), he becomes nervous! He didn't scare you, did he?! Were you allergic to what he bought you at lunch?!

✲ The first chance he sees you, he launches at you to just get his hands on you. He's practically weeping his apology into your shoulder and begging you to talk to him again (with added puppy dog eyes)!

✲ He naturally would give you space, as Jamil had instructed for something like this, but he's so anxious. He… loves you, he doesn't want to mess up the one thing he thought he could do right for you!

✲ "Please, please answer me! I didn't upset you, did I?!"ーKalim is hanging off of you, and he only hugs you tighter as his eyes tear upー"I l-love you, tell me I didn't make you uncomfortable!"

🦈 Floyd Leech (Rushing In)

✲ Floyd would love if you were more expressive, as he's not going to read your mind like Jade does. That's so boring! Be more like Goldfishie, c'mon! If your face heats easily, he'll go for that. If your mouth contours as a reaction to it, he'll fish it.

✲ His posture is always somewhat threatening, if not very odd for what he can suddenly do. Rocking on his feet back and forth, yet he can take off so effortlessly in a straight line for a target! Hands shaking as he holds a tower of plates, yet able to lift a whole person above his head!

✲ So faulting you for getting scared as he slams his hand against your door, and leaning into you, is moot. His eyes are dead set on conveying what he wants as he asks what you've done… and you take off down the hall, not a word spoken.

✲ Eye contact with him would have shown his eyes dilating, but that's not very helpful! His heart beats for you strangely and heavily, also like a palpitation (thank you Jade). You make him not want to tease you… much more than he already does. And staying awake at night, staring up at his ceiling as he thinks about learning more about you…

✲ He clasps a hand over his face, and drags it down slowly as Jade smiles smugly at him. Jade has added his two-cents and Azul tried to stay neutral, but was listening in far too intentionally on his issues. So what if he's feeling gay and messed it up, he'll get the guy next time!

✲ You get no space and no time after that first encounter to breathe, it took him not even 19 hours to come running up again and draping his arms over you to hold you by the neck.

✲ His naturally sing-song tone drifts in your ear as his hot breath brushes your neck. "Nene, Tigerfish, we're not done here. Why don't I take you on a date and we discuss something fun~!"

🍛 Cater Diamond (Wooing/Flattery)

✲ Almost too good at this… at first. Look cute and talk with his eyes, show he wants you! Make a bold statement and leave no room for judgment on his intentions! Make sure he's casually dressed and let his cutest features flourish to catch your eye.

✲ He tries to keep a confident swagger to his step as he approaches you, but he doesn't make a beeline. He does have some mutuals and friends in Night Raven, so he might catch up with them while keeping you in sight. When you're alone, he follows and calls out to you.

✲ He keeps a reasonable distance and he does walk side-by-side with you and bluntly tells you how he feels (with flattery and a cute wink)! … And having you practically vibrate in response, open your mouth, then dart away so shyly.

✲ He starts freaking out after you threw him off! He's known you've been very shy and non-responsive for a long time, you're his classmate and crush, b-but you really can shock a guy! … Did you really have to take off, he's bummed.

✲ After he processed what happened, he backed off to give you a bit of space. He went to Trey and Riddle, who was baking a cherry-walnut tart and drinking black tea (respectful), and talked it out with them. Did they know where he went wrong? Maybe he can use a little help…

✲ A week goes by, and you haven't forgotten about Cater's confession at all. Just had time to process it, when you hear Cater's light but sporadic footsteps coming up from behind you. You turn to see Cater flashing you a smile and holding something out to you…

✲ "I'm sorry for scaring you last time, handsome!"ーStill coming off a little strong, he dangled a little keychain for your phone that matched his favorite mascot up to offer youー"Let's start over with a date, do you mind Saturday? You can nod if you want!'

🏺 Idia Shroud (Shy vs. Shy)

✲ Tact? What's tact? This man has about four basic facial expressions and they are usually: neutral, scared, pissed, smug bastard. Those are the normal ones people can testify to. He can be happy, he can be sad! He just… mostly saves those for a higher intimacy relationship!

✲ His posture is stiff even without flinching when you get so close, and his body movement is usually nervous if he's outside his room. Barely are you allowed in his room alone to begin with (his sensitive files are in there, and so are Ortho's files), so confessing is right there! You're alone with him! Do it!

✲ His gesture of showing he cares is video games and machines, and compliments. And sometimes the compliments are backhanded to someone else… so suffice to say: you didn't get he was flirting at all. You had become non-verbal for a short period, then left with a very quiet goodbye.

✲ He nearly ended up crying from how stressful that was, and Ortho (faking being offline) had to comfort him! Your biometric signals showed heated skin around the face and ears, increased blood flow and heartbeat for about your age, and you kept leaning into him!

✲ He hugs himself out of self-pity and wallows in his self-loathing in this self-made prison… for about six hours. Then he plays his games for any remaining dailies or events. But during his dailies, he comes upon adapting sim you knew the name of…

✲ The next day, he comes up to you while your alone in your favorite spot and (with Ortho on standby for lookout) he strikes a pose of a character you mentioned you liked.

✲ "Halt, you must pass the intimacy level barrier to p-proceed! Your level is not high enough j-just yet…!" Idia cries as he falls out of the pose and just stands in his normal stance, but with his face all red. "Would you like to be my boyfriend? If it's not too much of a request…"

My Omegaverse AU/Headcanons

Ultimate Edition✨

Presenting(bad pun) the newest second genders and the final (I think 💀) addition to the second genders… Marquess and Marchioness! In addition to this will be updated information on all of them! This post will be pinned but do keep in mind the headcanons I have made in regards to different species and how they interact and are affected will probably still be buried as this is already A LOT for one post as is. With that being said let’s get into it!

Bond bites: Now bond bites are like a super big deal because like, to have one/give one is too have the upmost trust and loyalty. Or well… Look I get it. It’s far too tempting. No but for real to have one means way more than you and your partners heat and rut being changed to have a perfect union (synchronization if you will) it also could mean suffering through something only known to occur via bond bitten ones. Separation sickness. Yes, a real threat to your health. Now before we jump into that further let me explain who can get and give bond bites. Alphas and beta males can only give bond bites and not receive bond bites and can only give bond bites to certain genders. Alpha’s can give bond bites to a beta female, omega, marquess, and marchioness. They cannot give bond bites to alphas, beta males, tyrant alphas, tyrant betas, and tyrant omegas. Beta males can bond bite beta females, omegas, marquess, and marchioness. They cannot bond bite alphas, beta males, tyrant alphas, tyrant betas, and tyrant omegas. Marquess can bond bite beta females, omegas, marquess, and marchioness. They cannot bond bite alphas, beta males, tyrant alphas, tyrant betas, and tyrant omegas. Marchioness can bond bite beta females, omegas, marquess and marchioness. They cannot bond bite alphas, beta males, tyrant alphas, tyrant betas and tyrant omegas. Tyrant alphas cannot be bond bitten or receive bond bites from anyone. Tyrant betas cannot be bond bitten by anyone or receive bond bites. Tyrant omegas cannot be bond bitten by anyone or receive bond bites. Another thing to note is that one alpha, marquess, marchioness, or beta male can bond bite multiple partners but omegas and female betas can only have one permanent bond bite mark. Marquess and marchioness are unique in the fact that they can both bond bite multiple partners but also have multiple bond bites. Right back to separation sickness… Now for alphas and beta males while they do get super sick from this they are unlikely to die but will definitely be weaker. Curing this just entails them reaffirming their bond to their mate by well, mating lol. Oh important to note, bond bites are usually formed during mating. The tempting part about this is the need to want to bite and claim the person they are mating so be wary. Female betas and omegas though will definitely die if not cured. Marquess and marchioness however are different in that their bond bites/marks fade over time! Also while they do suffer separation sickness they actually barely feel the effects at all and can even get over it without mating. Lucky them lol. Now as for all the tyrants, they cannot bond bite nor be bond bitten therefore never can suffer separation sickness either! All genders can still attempt to bond bite but the marks will fade and not leave a permanent mark if not aligned.

Pregnancy: All of them stay pregnant for 9 months (hopefully) and give birth at the same rate so nothing really notable but I thought y’all would like to know anyways. Okay okay it would be boring if I left it at that so why not talk about some typical behaviors of each second gender while pregnant? Yeah that’s interesting enough. Marquesses and marchionesses typically grow more distant and will spend lots of time in their fortresses. (Fortresses are like their equivalent of nests that I talk about more later) Basically looking for some nice isolation for the time being. Oh and food. Lots and lots of food. I mean a whole ass feast. Alphas refrain from activities and more than likely will bid more time in their dens. Seeking more warmth then normal. Not much of an appetite surprisingly. Beta males will definitely prefer to be in spas. The warmth, water, and vibrations from the jets are soothing. Also get cravings. Beta females prefer to go on more walks and will often be standing when they can. Also many cravings. Omegas rather be constantly laying down in their soft, warm nests and bide their time until their pups are ready to be born. Better go get them plenty of food because it’ll be hard for them to force themselves to get back up once settled in. Tyrant alphas will feel pains in their chest constantly and refuse to do anything too strenuous for a while. Tyrant betas pretty much go on with their lives as normal but tend to move more cautiously. Tyrant omegas never have to go through this shit lol so they good.

Heats/Ruts: All genders go through heats/ruts so yeah betas don’t get to escape this shit lol. Anyways I’ll start with the Marquesses and the Marchionesses. This is where they start to differ from each other. The Marquesses and the Marchionesses are the only genders that go through both heats and ruts! But ruts are more frequently occurring for the Marquesses and heats are more frequently occurring for the Marchionesses. They also both produce slick and have knots! The knot for the marquesses though is more distinct but they produce slightly less slick and the Marchionesses have a less distinctive knot but produce more slick! For the Marquesses their ruts/heats occur every once a month and they’ll have ruts for the first two months and a heat for the next one and keep up that pattern and that last a week. Their scent during this time goes wild! As usually they can mask it to be the other second genders who have a scent… Now it is fluxes between all of them resembling the smells of the heats/ruts of the others!For the Marchionesses their heats/ruts occur every once a month and they’ll have heats for the first two of the months and a rut for the next one and continue in that pattern and each last for a week. Their scent during this time goes wild! As usually they can mask it to be the other second genders who have a scent… Now it is fluxes between all of them resembling the smells of the heats/ruts of the others! (Both of these are covered later) For alphas they’ll have their ruts every once a month that last two weeks. Alpha’s typically have a good sized knot. Omegas will have their heats once every month and last two weeks. Producing a constant flow of slick. For both alphas and omegas the scent change is highly noticeable and more powerful than usual. For beta males they’ll go into rut every once a month for a week. They don’t have a knot much like omega males with is interesting. For beta females they’ll go into heat every once a month and last a week. They also produce slick but it isn’t nearly as much as the others can. For both betas their scent has an uptick but still hardly noticeable. For tyrant alphas they’ll go into rut and it’ll happen every 6 months and last two weeks. For tyrant betas they’ll go into a heat that happens every once a year and lasts a week. For tyrant omegas they go into heat and it’ll happen every 6 months and last two weeks. Now if any of them mate (besides the tyrants that is) their heats/ruts will subside faster. None of them can go into a heat/rut while pregnant though except the Marquesses and Marchionesses. No one knows why. Which is why it is also hard to tell if they’re pregnant in the first place or if they could possibly have lost a baby.

Alpha voice origins/myths: An “alpha voice” is something that was once believed but science has now disproved that alphas have a certain pitch that can make omegas obey them. Though that doesn’t stop some from believing it. Although a deep commanding voice makes anyone swoon am I right? Now as for tyrant alphas… This is actually a fact! But it doesn’t just affect omegas! This affects all genders and is sure to have them obeying their calls. And make these calls loudly spreading for miles while in rut which is probably why so many knew of such a phenomenon but could not pin it to any specific alphas but just assumed it was. Mainly because roars are mainly heard from alphas in the first place. Tyrant omegas also have a voice but own that is more hypnotic in nature and lures all second genders to them.

Hospital’s specialized labor rooms: Thankfully, are medical staff is here to deal with any first and second genders needs. Look, labor is stressful as fuck and the most important parts is keeping everyone safe and stress free as possible. Now for female betas and in the rare case beta males, are perfectly fine with the average care we would get. Perfectly fine with the hospital beds. Maybe one extra pillow from their master bedroom is all. Something familiar. But it’s not really needed just nice to have. Beta males just more intensive care is all. A daunting process and not one that even most medical professionals get to see. Not to mention formula milk has has to be provided for beta males as while they give birth in this instance, they cannot nurse. Same goes to alphas except for the fact that for some reason it is easier for them to give birth on the tile so a room is usually cleared out except for a solid head rest. They also can’t nurse and need to be given formula. Omegas however need to absolutely have a small soft nest spread out. Definitely let them bring nesting materials from home to have for their hospital nest as it will majorly help ease them into a smooth labor. Now for both a marquess and marchioness they really need it the lighting to be dimmed and all windows shut. And need to feel more inclosed in the space in general to feel at ease. Usually being given smaller rooms. Tyrant betas refuse to be around anyone and get violent and very easily distressed so they have to be monitored by doctors outside of the room usually by a two way mirror. Tyrant alphas are much like omegas except for the fact that they don’t need anything with their own scent to be comfy.

Cycle synchronization origins/myths: Now the interesting thing about the heat/rut cycle sync thingy is that besides the bond bite effect this can actually occur naturally by the same genders staying around each other long enough. Normally this takes a month or two and only happens for alphas, betas and omegas. For the others nope! Nothings changing their set schedules lol. This is thought to occur due to how ancient pack structures used to be and needed the community to have a unionized internal clock.

Dens/nests/master bedrooms/fortresses: Alphas do what is called denning. It’s different from nesting due to a lot of factors: dens are not really built with soft material and are typically larger than nests. Dens are meant for them to have a big space for them to feel safe and they will often eat there. Don’t be surprised if they store the most random of things in there. Nests are more soft and smaller spaces that are safe for pups to be in and more warm. They also use it as a space to lay in and when they’re feeling a bit of empty nest syndrome. If alphas have a den ruined it will distress them but they are fine with rebuilding. If an omegas nest is destroyed however it will cause them much anxiety and it will take them a while to recover. They have to be the ones to take it down and rebuild somewhere else if you want to avoid that. Actually a general rule with all of the second genders would be to not destroy their rooms period but you do you I guess. Betas just have bedrooms essentially. A master bedroom. A place where only mates tend to lay together and sleep in to feel safe. They get uncomfortable when others approach it, even their own pups. Alphas and omegas however do not have this problem and definitely don’t mind their pups being there. Alphas are also more chill with people coming and going. Betas and omegas however absolutely hate that. The tyrants don’t even build shit. They have bedrooms but it isn’t quite as grand as a betas master bedrooms. Which is why once again though they will often be assumed to be betas. The marquesses and marchionesses though prefer something a little more, well, fortified. Yes, they have mini fortresses. They definitely only allow themselves in and don’t even want mates there! Rarely will they permit someone to go in so if you’re invited you should feel honored. It means you’ve gained their upmost trust. Their mini fortresses are about the size of a tent and are made of soft plush like material and are usually something that has many soft materials surrounding the inside and blocking off any light or entryways. Opening and closing themselves in.

Fated mates origins/myths: Fated mates are basically the equivalent of our love at first sight silliness and is just a trope but that doesn’t stop some from genuinely believing in it. Popular idea in all media.

Scents: Everyone (except the tyrants for obvious reasons I will get to) has their individual scent but the strength of it depends on their second gender. Well that and heats/ruts but we covered those already so ya know that much. Alphas definitely have the strongest scents and are more likely to mark pretty much everything they own and definitely their mates. Especially if it’s a new room or house they moved into. Expect them to mark their favorite pieces of furniture even if it’s yours. Comfiest seats in the house are now reserved for them. Now for the betas this is pretty interesting as they do have a scent but it’s really faint and other betas can easily pick up each other’s scent and distinguish who is who but for alphas and omegas they just can’t sniff em out. Invisible to others noses. Because betas have this acute sense of smell however alpha and omega scents tend to be overpowering for them like someone putting on way too much perfume. Not too discomforting but yeah they notice the others coming a mile a way. Betas surprisingly spend more time marking their houses than the others. Omegas have a strong scent that they use to mark their stuff and really everyone with. It’s a common greeting for omegas to give you something that has their scent on it as a friendship token. If an omega is interested in you they may mark something of yours as a playful form of courtship. Easy to reject them by simply washing away their scent. Or ya know, you could’ve just told em but I guess they weren’t direct in their approach either. Marquesses and Marchionesses have the unique ability to mask their scent to smell like the other second genders (except tyrants and yes now I’ll discuss them) Tyrant alphas and tyrant omegas actually don’t have a scent until they are in their heats/ruts and when they do you can’t smell anything else but that. Spreading across acres of land it’s hard not to notice it. Because tyrant omegas and tyrant alphas lack a scent most alphas and omegas think they are betas while betas are just like 👁👄👁 “Why can’t I smell you?” lol. Their scent like the other tyrants is nonexistent but the difference is it actually stays this way. Making them the only second gender that truly does not have a scent at all. Yet for some reason still have a scent gland. In other words, it’s about as useful as your wisdom teeth.

Fertility: Look, I’m not gonna be sitting here trying to remember a singular time in science class I did that whole square shot thingy so forget passing on genetics I’ll let y’all calculate that for yourselves. But what I will do is give y’all a general what genders have for both the max amount of pups at one time and the common amount they usually end up having aight? Aight. For the rare case of alphas getting pregnant they can have about 1-5 pups at one time with the most common number being 5. In the rare case of beta males getting pregnant they can have about 1-2 pups at one time with the most common number being 2. Beta females can have about 1-3 pups at one time with the most common number being 1. Omegas can have about 1-14 pups at one time with the most common number being 1. Tyrant alphas can have about 1-23 pups at one time with the most common number being 23. Tyrant betas can have about 1-23 pups at one time with the most common number being 13. Tyrant Omegas cannot have pups so that answer is always zero. Marquesses can have about 1-10 pups at one time with the most common number being 3. Marchionesses can have about 1-10 pups at one time with the most common number being 3.

Presenting: Pups start to show signs of their second gender around the age of 10 but are not fully developed until their late teens. Of course you could always get a doctor to check early but it’s more an educated guess than anything. Though I’d say an 80% chance of them being right is pretty darn high lmao. Also this was added back recently in this edit as for some when reason when I copy pasted my doc this part was left out so I’m adding bonus info! Yer welcome. Pups have a scruff that you can safely grab em by via your teeth or hands. They also start to lose this as they present.

Percentages/rarities of second genders: Betas-30%, Alphas-21%, Omegas-20%, Marquesses -13%, Marchionesses-13%, Tyrant Alphas-1%, Tyrant Betas-1%, Tyrant Omegas-1% (note that these are simply to show how rare the second genders can be and aren’t exactly a 1:1 of the population)

Special genetics shit: This is a thing that only affects about 10% of the population but a strange phenomenon can occur while they’re still developing, their second gender can change depending on the environment! If even one of the parents has it then you have a chance of the child having it. Their second gender might change if exposed to a certain temperature for prolonged periods of time. If the temperature is at house temp it could result in a beta, if it’s at 80 degrees Fahrenheit or above it could result in an alpha and if it’s 50 degrees or below it could result in an omega. Many theorize this is because omegas tend to build more body fat and thus we’re more likely to survive winters if born in freezing climates. Still just a working theory however and for some reason can only determine changes for three of the 8 second genders? And why only the second gender? Look science is clearly not my strong suite here so don’t expect solid answers on this from me. Some things are meant to be a mystery.

Hi! Radqueer-aligned here, curious about your perspective. I've always felt a little iffy about the -trans prefix, and I disagree with some radqueer keypoints about it (majorly, transgenderism being a transID) and I do not think transgenderism should be equated to transIDs. Nevertheless, the -trans prefix isn't exclusive to transgenderism, nor is the -cis prefix. Nor does the same prefix mean the same definition (transIDs don't inherently equate transgenderism to "wanting to be a gender you're not" just because both start with -trans!)

To be honest, your argument against it, especially the -cis prefix, seems a little like conservatives saying "I don't want to be called cisgender!", honestly (I do not mean harm, just making a geniune comparison). Could you explain why you think the -trans/-cis prefix is harmful in transIDs?

Ive already said it, but ill repeat it simply chz im in a call;

When being transgender, gender is a social construct, so saying "im a man", theres nothing wrong with it and tis factual, if they were to say "i was assigned male at birth" while being afab, thatd be a lie and simply wrong

With all these transIDs, they are NOT using social constructs, what species you are, how many times you've circled the sun (age), what genetics you have (race) and what symproms you naturally show (discorder) are NOT social constructs, and its ok to feel like you should have certain features, hense the "wishID", but if you go to a point of telling yourself and other "yes im actually a black man because i TRANSID as so" then you're going straight up lying

This is why the cis term also comes to be offensive cis is "on the same time of" its the norm, nor having a limb? That isnt the social norm, being blind? Deaf? Hacing autism? That isnt the "norm", to add "cis" to them basically makes it sound like "oh youre NORMAL, you got no issue :) just like cisgender people, youre considered the norm"

As an Asian and a major fan of the Jedi, I just wanna slap Lesyle Headland in the face. I'm so tired of ignorant Westerners (aka faux white feminists) like her and Kathleen Kennedy shitting on the Jedi. They're basically insulting and looking down on my people and their culture. I wish Kathleen Kennedy got fired. I wish that SOMEONE could hire an Asian person to direct the Acolyte instead of a white Western woman like Lesyle Headland. She should just go back to making a 3rd season of Russian Doll or whatever. Why is it SO HARD for Disney to hire Asian people to be in charge of a Star Wars series or movie???

The anti-jedi rethoric is very annoying and it upsets me that lucasfilm doesn't try (i might be wrong about them not trying but alas) to at least direct creators working for canon material to stick to GLs original meaning without the very prominent legends bias we know older fans have. You and everyone to whom this characterization is important (I'm one of them!) has every right to be upset about the things she said, but I just want to point out a few things:

We don't know how Acolyte is going to turn out. The statement is worrying but we've seen actors/directors say things in interviews that just don't reflect on what we actually get. (Favreou does this all the time) I say we wait. I'm not an optimistic but I think we can hold off saying it will DEFINITELY be awful until it actually comes out.

Again, it's very upsetting having yet another show trying to be "jedi critical" but I can't help but notice that Filoni, Favreou and multiple other writers have been doing it for years and everyone still watches and reads everything they put out. Not many people seriously call for them being fired. The fact that I've seen way more anger and aggressiveness towards Lesyle is... telling. Go all the way on the critiques of the material when the show comes out (I will) but don't be blind to the fact that she is one of the first openly queer women leading a prominent Disney production. There will be fans being awful to the show just because of it + Amandla's race and gender. Sometimes will be hard to tell which kind of anger someone is expressing but I'll highlight that is NEVER productive to side with bigots, even when you're rightfully angry for different reasons than them.

Which leads to my next point: we should be (I know we already are, just to remember the focus) advocating for diversity on the writing room. That's the space we have to a big cast of opinions and perspectives in the same project, while we only have one director/a few producers. And I think it's important to acknowledge that in that department they've already have gone really far just in the last couple years. We have Debora Chow. Diego Luna was producing Andor. Regardless of the end result, Lesley is an openly queer woman. EVERY SINGLE LEAD BESIDES EWAN IS A POC. This was unimaginable ten years ago. This is just a reminder to not let yourself fall in despair, we're getting there.

Kathleen Kennedy is incredible at her job. I'm not discussing her opinions because they aren't that relevant: she doesn't make any creative decisions. She makes executive and strategic ones, and Star Wars has put out more content under her administration than ever. She is one of the reasons it's so diverse now. Push for her to do better, to hire people who have a vision that aligns with what star wars is meant to be, but calling for her being fired is echoing the dudebros who blame her for every detail that aren't even under her control.

None of this erases the underlying racism in the refusal to understand Jedi culture, you (we) are rightfully angry, specially if Acolyte turns out to be exactly how she said it will. I just think there are more effective ways we can have this conversation and pressure Lucasfilm to do better than boycotting a show we don't even know if is really problematic yet, lest they decide it's easier to stick to the "standard" white straight male pov because it cuts off both the "wokenism" complaints and the ones that what they're doing isn't the right kind of diversity.
