Wanna drop a few things I just personally really liked about the Paris Special
The first time we get to see our heroes speak about their pain from their perspective! I feel like the fandom has always acknowledged that both of them have gone through a lot and stick through a lot. But this is truly the first time we heard them speak of how they handle positively approaching their pain compared to just showing us their positivity. The two of them explaining how they stay positive makes me understand their motivation better and feel like they are even more real characters to me.
Just the whole idea that Shadybug and Clawnoir were their darker alter egos. I know we roughly knew that going in, but seeing both of them break down (esp when Shady read Mari's diary) really gave Mari and Adrien even more dimension. I like that we get to see Mari and Adrien as people who didn't end up approaching their problems with positivity and love. I think a lot of people can relate to that.
I enjoyed seeing a kind Gabriel. His fatherly-like role towards the two of them at the end showed what Gabriel could have been for them both had he approved of their relationship.
Enemies to Lovers trope! I thought they liked each other but their banter was just bad. But in actuality, they did seem to not really like each other and were more forced into partnership than anything else. Appreciating each other's company after just hit harder !!
All in all...I watched this special this afternoon and it's stayed with me throughout the day. Something about it was truly very special and hit deep. When I figure out more of what I want to say, maybe I'll drop a few more thoughts :")
Extra note: The animation was so satisfying, it was nice to see a darker tone and such cool features to their Miraculous. And generally, the quality was higher because it was a special. I could really feel that and they felt more like real characters again.

Okay, so, here it is. The watch I was working on today.
A "Raketa" watch with a calendar and weekday display.
And yes, the seconds hand is missing. I didn't manage to find an original hand, so I found a substitute, which was a simple black seconds hand. I was in a hurry when leaving, so the pics of "after" are due tomorrow.
And now...
...the horror.
Though, I must say things are not as bad as they _could_ be.
Still, that doesn't mean "good".
First and foremost, the whole thing is obviously dirty.
Then...
This part, while not essential, is important. And I didn't manage to find a replica in a good condition. I found one that was thinner, so movement is a little "rattle"-y in the case.
Next...
It may be difficult to notice, but the lever that limits the length of the hairspring is actually not at all connected to the balance bridge. Oh, yeah, the lock that held the spring in the "grasp" of this lever was also broken. A tiniest bit was broken off od it, and it became non-functional.
And the last bit from this pic.
This is, just straight up, bad.
There are many ways this could happen, I won't go into that though.
Anyway. There were two more "big" things in this watch that were bad, and of which I don't have a picture.
First, is the main plate being bent. No, no in it's entirety, don't worry. Just in one place.
Right around there, on the other side of the movement, the thin wall that was between the lever that holds the winding stem and the case was bent inward, obstructing the movement of that lever.
But a bit of hammer time fixed that no problem.
And the final thing, that made me the most frustrated, is the strength of the friction fitting of the cannon pinion.
It caused me to accidentally break two vexel wheels.(It's the right word, right? That one wheel that's transfering momentum between the cannon pinion and the hour wheel?)
In any case, it took me the whole day. My teacher polished the case saying he wanted to help me get the watch done quicker, but the glass was so shit it just had to be swapped.
Tomorrow I'll add the "after" pics in a reblog. See ya.
