You're a Kingsman fan?!? That is one of my top five favorite movies! Do you do any fic for it?

Yes! I wasn’t a big fan of the sequels but the first movie is one of my favourites too 😍 I was in the fandom between 2015-2017 and luckily had a bunch of bookmarks in my old account. They’re not recent but tbh I’d rec anything from the authors below, they’re all excellent. Enjoy!

A resource for finding pre-TLOU Pedro Pascal characters fics

Hey everyone, this is just an idea that randomly struck me. I joined the fandom fairly recently in 2022, but as we all know, our numbers have well and truly exploded since TLOU aired.

We are incredibly lucky that our fandom has a massive treasure trove of fics written by so many amazing writers in the last few years, especially for pre-Joel Pedro boys that new fans are now discovering. However, new readers will probably have hard time finding these fics because nothing about Tumblr is set up to efficiently find any fic, let alone 'older' fics published months and years ago.

Since there's been such a huge influx of new readers in the fandom who may be looking for new-to-them 'old' fics to read, I thought it would useful to start a list of writers who have been writing for Pedro boys since before TLOU aired to connect newcomers to ‘older’ fics. I'm starting with writers that I have personally read or know of, but please do drop me an ask or a DM if you would like to add or be added to the list (or removed from it)!

Binding of See Me Once, See The Way I Feel by the gifted @elrhiarhodan!

A binding to fit a work about people brought together by the legacy of entomologist Adalbert Seitz. Green three quarter leather binding, marbled endpapers, and tipped in copies of Seitz' butterfly plates, all based on different editions of his books on macrolepidoptera.

I’m really enjoying binding as a method of celebrating and validating transformative works as well as a pro-community gesture. In keeping with that idea, I’m happy to make the author a copy at no cost for themselves if they’d like one. Thanks!

Hey!

This is kinda my last option because i have not been able to find this fic and have dug through my entire history and saved fics.

Tumblr, you're my last hope 🤦‍♀️

I am looking for a kingsman fic. In it, Eggsy is able to talk to animals or hear them mentally or something and when he's a kid it freaks his mom out. If I remember right he crashes the car because the fox was just out looking for food for her kits

In training he goes after Charlie because Charlie hit his dog to train it and Eggsy tells Merlin that he can train both his puppy and Charlie's. He keeps both dogs and I think he makes Harry take one of them to Kentucky with him. I also seem to remember Eggsy like possessing a racoon or something to help Harry during the church scene.

I know this sounds like some fever dream but I promise it's not. If anyone knows this fic or where to find it or any information, please I'm begging, let me know. This has wormed into my brain and I've not had any peace from it for like 3 weeks. I would dearly love to reread this fic as it's one of my favorites!

The Saltwater Room (iii) and (iv) by @chaoticgeminate 🪐 This brings Kells’ January fic to a close. This is a fun fic that makes me want to check out the game Raft now and I’ve enjoyed the open-water adventure of sailing a flooded world with Marcus and making what we can of it. I’m so excited to see what the February fic holds in store!!!

The Wedding Planner by @toomanystoriessolittletime 🪐 I just loved this. I love a good romcom. Steph puts Marcus in the role of the wedding planner and everyone gets to own their own corner of yearntown here. Just so much fluff, so much fun, I absolutely adore Marcus getting what his heart desires and the reader getting the wedding of her dreams.

The Herbalist: Part 2: The Lies Were More Appealing Than the Truth by @blueeyesatnight No Tovar yet, but we’re getting close. Instead, we get a very good study of Kitty and her brother, as well as a really good feel for the town where the story takes place. Blue is doing a wonderful job at setting the character and tone and I really can’t wait to see this girl get Pero all tongue-tied...

Shaken Not Stirred by @haylzcyon Hoh my gods. This is the kind of smut that gets me going. The kind where our cowboy isn’t a hard dom or a mouthy fool...Whiskey here is... adoring. Content. Reverent. And Haylz’ beautiful style plays beautifully in that zone between hot and soft, emotions and mechanics, folding in on itself over and over into something silky and smooth. This is a sequel to Over Ice, but it does stand on its own. But if you want the sweet before the spice, you can start there with the heart and work your way down.

Symmetry by @words-are-fireproof 🪐 This is a look at Joel Miller, a man with loss and a lot of anger in the world. It hurts that Tommy’s the one who wants to look out for him and the only family he has left, but he just keeps pushing him away and sinking into survival mode. This one’s tough, but really nicely written.

Invitation by @beecastle 🪐 Bee’s doing a Year of Mary Oliver challenge where she uses lines from the poet as inspiration and prompts. This sweet little drabble’s line is “it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in the broken world” and Bee uses it to wonderful effect for a moment of noticing something simple and beautiful that the world still has to offer.

Always Thought That I’d See You Again by @ezrasbirdie Twenty years since high school and running into the Miller boys again? Tommy coming into your bar to drink and be friendly and Joel coming by to take care of Tommy. Maybe. Maybe he remembers you from high school. Maybe he helps you close up the bar one night. Maybe he walks you to your car. Maybe I had a swoon reading this. Maybe. I’ll never tell.

Ribbons & Wings by @insomniamamma I will never, ever tire of J’s Prickle stories and am always happy to see her drop another. Ezra and Cee post-film, traveling with their hired third, an amazing found family scraping it together on distant and interesting worlds. J’s extention of the Prospect worldbuilding is top-tier and even here, on a world much like our own, she still manages to make it feel alien and wondrous. You don’t need to read the Prickle ‘verse in order--she doesn’t write them in order--to enjoy these stories. But if you haven’t looked into her very rich worlds, I really suggest you do.

The Worst Fic Ever by @beskarberry Y’all just get on your knees now, because this fic was just crowned king. Like, print this out and put it in your pocket for your worst days and it will cure all. I don’t really do this, but this fic gave me so much giddy joy that I’m gonna give it stars. Five. All of them solid gold. 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 Fk. How about five more. 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 And a raccoon. 🦝

The Roles We Play by @missredherring I love the double-entendre of this title. Rachel reframes Dieter as a man with a pouty little boy inside him, one that needs to be handled gently and told no. One that wants comfort but has to learn to do it by himself. And there’s no spice involved, this is a sweet story...and the reader has way more resolve than I would...

You Walk By And I Fall To Pieces by @lesbianhotch This is exactly my speed of being picked up at a bar by someone with as much shy DNA as we all imagine Frankie has. It’s sweet and pretty, and Santi deserves a little peck on the cheek for being a little shit.

Monthly Fic Recs - February 2024

You may notice that I, uh. Did not keep up with the Fic Feature Friday thing. *sheepish grimace* But! I am determined to share fic recs! So monthly ones it shall be. Mostly, these are all recent things, and to be honest I've read very little fic at all this year, wrapped up in new job and life stuff. But there's some great stuff here that I did manage to read in the quiet in-between times, I hope you find something to enjoy! And so, in no particular order except how I bookmarked them, THE RECS! STRANGER THINGS In the Kitchen or the Tulips by teddywesworl, ~44,000 words, Steve/Eddie Eddie’s face is way too hot, and the damn heart monitor is gonna give away his secrets if it doesn’t shut the fuck up. Steve Harrington carried me out of Hell, he thinks, deliberately. A prickle of something frantic festers at the base of his skull as he pictures himself limp in Steve’s arms, Steve’s hands clutching at his filthy jacket, his blood-soaked jeans. Did he have to do CPR? Did he peel Eddie’s clothes away from the gore of his midsection to get a look at the damage?

Did he touch me? Did he touch me? Did he touch me?

OR: A touch-activated telepathic soulmates AU.

Renegades (Leave a Light On) by queerofthedagger, ~67,000 words, Steve/Eddie Eddie doesn't expect to get into trouble for his recent drug business, although he probably should have. Even less does he expect Steve Harrington of all people to save his sorry ass with a nail bat that looks awfully at home in his hands. Least of all, though, does he expect Harrington to insist on skipping town for a while to avoid the fallout.

The Winter holidays of '84 seem intent on proving him wrong on all fronts. Thrown into a spontaneous road trip-slash-cut-and-run to San Francisco—just until things back home blow over, Munson—Eddie has all the time in the world to confront such questions as: why would Harrington care to help him? Why does he wake up from nightmares more often than not? And, maybe most importantly, why is the former King so ready to leave Hawkins behind on a whim?

Or: idiot boys make impulsive idiot decisions, and along the way—reluctantly but inevitably—they fall in love. A story of endless winter streets, finding family, and leaving home to find a new one. MERLIN Albionist by Galauvant, ~1,700 words, gen Arthur & Merlin (& Aithusa) The cry sounds again, and Arthur’s feet freeze, a chill sliding down his spine. There’s something hauntingly familiar about the cadence of the sound.

It’s not quite the same, but Arthur just knows. It’s impossible, but he knows.

He draws Excalibur now, quickening his pace, but his feet are light.

Minutes later, there it is:

A white dragon- a living, breathing dragon roughly the size of a stallion, crouched in front of a cave. One of its wings is held at an odd angle, and unlike the giant monstrosity that once terrorized Camelot, this one looks gaunt and weak.

Or: In a handwavey canon divergence where Arthur knows about Merlin's magic and Aithusa escapes captivity, there are two men and a young dragon.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE Magic Maketh Man by Brokenpitchpipe, ~17,000 words, Harry/Eggsy It takes Eggsy three seconds to tear his eyes off the feed, slam the laptop shut, apparate to Harry’s side, and somehow manage to get back to St. Mungo’s with the added weight.

It takes him another two minutes to realize that Harry’s glasses are still on his face, and the tiny little LED atop the brow is still blinking obediently.

Merlin’s goddamn balls. He’s fucked. TEEN WOLF (Don't) Stay by alocalband, ~18,000 words, Derek/Stiles Stiles goes away to college, and Derek suddenly falls ill. Obviously, the two things are completely unrelated. And, obviously, Stiles doesn't make the drive back to Beacon Hills at every available opportunity, to the detriment of his academic career, because he's secretly in love with the guy. That would be ridiculous. STAR WARS (original trilogy. yes i am confused by this too.) Take Care by spqr, ~12,000 words, Han/Luke The time dragged, and dragged, and the Falcon didn’t help matters by breaking whenever Han looked away for a second. It was like she didn’t want them to get where they were going, like she was actively sabotaging herself — an insane thought which Han kept to himself, since he didn’t want Chewie to smack him in the head, until the fourth literally brand new part broke in the space of an hour and he said in despair, “Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you’re mad at me too, baby,” and looked up to find Luke watching him thoughtfully, crouched at the edge of the open hatch.

“I can talk to her, if you want,” he offered.

Every Old Town’s Just Your Past Burning Down by whisperedstory. Explicit, J2, 41k words. Summary: The world ends and those who survive are left with chaos; cities and towns are in ruins and there's a shortage of food and an outbreak of diseases that soon lead to panic and violence. With nothing keeping him in Texas Jensen decides to leave, wandering back roads and wilderness with no destination in mind. His path leads him to a secluded farm in Wyoming and a ragtag group of people. There, he ends up finding more than he dared to hope for: a home, friendships, and maybe even a chance at love with Jared, who Jensen is instantly drawn to even though he can't quite figure him out. The group dynamic gets stressful for Jared as the leader of their troop and Jensen’s there for him and ahhhh yeah that scene just got me in the feels. I’ve added this to my Desolate Post-Apocalypse reclist.

He was running before he even realized he’d stepped on the guard and dropped the bag of loot. Finding out Harry's alive does wonders to that end for Eggsy - that is, until ghosts from the past rise up to ruin it all. How could Harry not have seen this coming? Archnemeses that can't stay dead seem to come with the territory of being a spy. It's too bad that this particular ghost isn't one of Harry's... I mean, when Hob rescues him… fuck, man /cries/. This fic was amazing. Added to my favorite Sandman fics reclist.

Trick Or Treat? - A Dark!Frankie Morales, Dark!Joel Miller & Dark!Dave York one shot for Halloween. This is my first time writing anything remotely dark, (although I felt it was pretty tame in comparison with some other dark fics I've read and enjoyed) and I'm completely floored by the positive responses to this story. Thank you to everyone who read it on Halloween, and who has enjoyed it since. 🎃

This week's Self-Care with Dieter & Jett looked at bullying and how you can deal with bullies, and avoid inadvertently becoming one yourself.

And this week's Writer Wow shone the spotlight on the wonderfully talented - and equally wonderful person - that is @boliv-jenta Go give them some love.⭐️

Writing some more Christmas fics, have a bunch of GIFLETS lined up as always, and working on some one shots featuring Frankie Morales, Marcus Pike and Dave York.

I'm also getting soooo many ideas that my Google docs is a chaotic mess that I really need to put some order into. 🥴

☆ Things I've read this week

Head Shots - Chapter 4 - @secretelephanttattoo Everything about this series is so sweet and romantic, and has the perfect Marcus Pike in my opinion. I love how El perfectly places you, as the reader, in the scene so that you can literally see, hear and feel everything, and she manages to do it wonderfully. You must read this if you're an Agent Pike fan. Or any Pedro Boy fan, just read it. Thank me later. 🫠

Steep Is The Mountain - @sin-djarin Becca's Tim Rockford is just exquisite. Sexy, gruff, gun holsters... what more do you want from this handsome detective? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and will deffo be re-visiting this when I have more hankerings for Rockford. The descriptives in this were utterly divine, and not just the smut. (Although that was scorching!) 🔥

The Haunting Of Dieter Bravo - @idolatrybarbie I have so many Halloween fics to catch up on, and reading this one was an absolute delight. I love how original and captivating this was, yet contained all the creep and dread that you want. And Dieter being Dieter, even though he's clearly spooked. This was a great read and I deffo recommend adding to your read list. Utterly spook-tacular! 👻

The Clink - @ramblers-lets-get-ramblin Let me tell you, if they had PrisonGuard!Javi P in prison, I think I would deliberately commit crimes to be locked up with him... This was hot AF. Damn hot, and in true Angela style, she captures the essence of that hotness and locks you up tight in it. Oof! 🥵

Juniper - @softlyspector This was an incredibly vivid read of Joel helping you get to sleep, in the only way Mr Miller can. And it was just delicious. I'm still thinking about this one, it's seared in my brain. 🫠

Hey There, City Boy - @sweetenerobert I had a fun cameo in Robert's Halloween Ghostface!Joel fic, and I'm still cackling about it now! Thank you, friend. The story was brilliantly hot and had that familial dread we've all come to know and love from the Scream franchise. And the smut was hella smutting for sure. Spooky Joel shenanigans aplenty! 🖤

Anytime - @undercoverpena Oh, I just fell in love with Javi P even more after reading this. Jo's romantic, friends-to-lovers story here is just beautiful! I urge you to read it because I am still drowning in my feels about it. 🥰

A shout out to lovely @beabliss who has been putting together some hot "things he'd say to you" drabbles. Some of my favourite's have been Marcus Pike & Javier Pena - super hot! Although all the one's she's released so far have been amazing to read, and inspiring too. 🥵

Also want to throw a nod and some love to @wildemaven who has been creating some of the most stunning mood boards I've seen. Again, so inspiring and creative, and some of my favourites so far have been Dieter Hosting SNL, Jackson Librarian Reunites With An Old Lover & Halloween with Dave & The Girls. But honestly, I could favour them all, they're incredible. 🖤

☆ What have I been watching/listening to this week?

Blink 182 dropped a new album this week! And I've had it on repeat - A LOT! Growing up they were one of my favourite bands, and I've seen them live too, which was just incredible.

This new album is reminiscent in some ways of their old sound, with punchy anthems, but has some of those grown-up style ballads, similar to their album Neighbourhoods, dotted in there too, and I love it. It's been giving me embryo punk-rock Jett vibes from my college youth. And I'm still in love with Mark Hoppus to this day... 🥰

Some of my favorites from the album are Fell In Love, Terrified, One More Time & Edging.

☆ What have I been up to this week?

I went back to work this week, which was a shock to the system after a week of lay ins and writing a lot. 🥴 Feels like I've hardly done any writing at all this week.

I went out with my mom for lunch and a spot of shopping on Saturday, which was lovely, and I hung with my friends this week too for a belated birthday movie night - I was graced with a Pedro Pascal air freshener for my car... if I crash into a ditch, you'll know why! 😉

C'mon Jack, let's line dance outta here, cowboy!

Binding of The Sunne in Splendour by the excellent @elrhiarhodan!

A binding to fit a story about people brought together by a royal bloodline. Endpapers are 14th century embroidery fragments depicting a falconer with her loyal companions and being crowned. White English roses surrounding a stag and boar as described in the work.

I’m really enjoying binding as a method of celebrating and validating transformative works as well as a pro-community gesture. In keeping with that idea, I’m happy to make the author a copy at no cost for themselves if they’d like one. Thanks!
