Meng Yao and Lan Xichen are best of friends.

Meng Yao totally isn't fucking Lan Qiren behind his best friend's back. Totally. It totally has nothing to do with his weakness for getting the approval of older men because he has daddy problems.

It totally has nothing to do with how predictable Lan Qiren is - quoting the Lan rules all day, meaning that Meng Yao just needs to learn and know the Lan rules to understand Lan Qiren's expectations - which in terms means that Meng Yao doesn't have to worry about meeting unrealistic, impossible standards, but in term he also doesn't have to worry about impossible harsh punishments when he does fail to meet them.

So what if he decided that he needed to get closer to the Lan heir upon meeting Lan Qiren in person? Bah, just a coincidence. So what if he went and started a correspondence with Lan Qiren during the war?

And when he got kicked out of the Nie Sect as planned so that he now had a valid reason to move straight into the Lan Sect without looking unloyal and a whole host of arbitrary requirements that someone like him (bastard, low birth, too smart, too cunning) needed to follow in order to not tarnish their reputation more...

Honestly, Lan Xichen really needed to take the hint and offer him a place in the Lan Sect faster! They were the best of friends after all!

(And future uncle and nephew?)

My MDZS Couples Headcanons (part 3)

Lan Xichen x Jin GuanYao

Jin GuanYao did have feelings for Lan Xichen, but his ambitions eventually over clouded it.

They spent a lot of time together learning, training, and so on.

JGY was there to comfort LXC when NMJ died, and he supported him while his brother was greiving WWX.

They practiced music together often doing duets.

LXC trusted him wholly while JGY could not bring himself to trust anyone so fully, still he held LXC closer than most

LXC lets JGY ride on his shoulders so that he can feel tall (no one can take this from me)

LXC take initiative when it comes to spending time together and affection.

JGY always has something new LXC when they meet whether it be a new food, fact, idea, song or item.

They tend to spend most their time together talking about anything and everything

They also enjoy playing games together

JGY always has a light and sweet desert prepared for LXC after meals

LXC sometimes helps JGY teach/train JL when he's there

LXC is very supportive of whatever decision JGY makes and is aleays there to help him when he asks

Nie MingJue x Lan Xichen

NMJ is normally the big spoon

They prefer spending time together over giving gifts, but sometimes they will give each other small things

They are both very comfortable with affection and PDA

If either thinks the other is sick or hurt they will carry them, at first there were arguments about it, but it didn't past long

NMJ teaches LXC how to dance (My mdzs hc part 2-3). Sometimes when LXC is playing his dizi NMJ will sway along to it

NMJ likes to hold LXC, he likes to show that LXC is his and LXC loves to be held

They are both pretty possessive and get can get a little hot headed when jealousy rears its head

NMJ gives the best bear hugs

There isn't really specific top or bottom between the two of them, they like to take turns.

They both love to body worship

NMJ likes when LXC manhandles/gropes him

They are generally touching whenever they are together whether it be just holding holds, hugging, shoulders/sides pressed together, or light kisses on the cheek/nose/neck/ear

Sometimes when there is nothing particular to discuss they can get a little lost in their own world. LXC gets very giggly and playful when this happens

They often use endearments such as love, sweetheart, honey, and dear. LXC is particularly fond of using honey and dear for NMJ

LXC always tries to find ways to help NMJ relax and calm down, giving him tea, massages, playing music and so on. NMJ tries his best to show his gratitude and return the favour

Their relationship has a very good balance of give and take and they are always looking out for each other

3-Zuns (JGY x LXC x NMJ)

NMJ and LXC like to sandwich JGY between them when they cuddle

NMJ is the softest and most trusting of the three

LXC is the kinkiest and most affectionate

JGY is the most adventurous and flexible

One time NMJ bench pressed JGY and he has never been the same

JGY gives the best presents (and lap dances)

They do as much together as possible, eating, training, working and so on.

Both NMJ and LXC have a lot of stamina

Before he became too ambitious JGY honestly cared to LXC and NMJ. I think he somewhat regrets what ended up happening.

NMJ loves to listen LXC and JGY play duets, he finds it very calming

JGY likes to be in the middle when they sleep because he feel very safe tucked between them

They all like to be held, even NMJ although he won't admit it

One time NMJ carried LXC on his shoulder while JGY was on LXC shoulders

They go for walks often, just talking and enjoying each others presence

Absolute chaos ensues if all of them get drunk together, LXC turns into loud and over-excited, NMJ is emotional and stripping, and JGY is slutty and pure salt. Together they are nearly unstoppable

the first character i ever fell in love with: i have to say Sasuke. i was litterally in love with him at 13. still am.

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: i guess i liked the third better at some point. before i started thinking about it all.

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: i am steady in my allegiance, I don’t drop ships like that.

my ultimate favorite character™: GAARA 5EVER

prettiest character: Neji i guess, I really like the idea that he has the prettiest hair and everyone knows it, to his endless mortification.

my most hated character: arf, Danzo I s’pose? i hate him both for what he’s done and for how shitty a vilain he makes.

my OTP: NARUSASU 6EVER the otp to end all otp i owe them my fanfiction career seriously where would i be without this ship…

my NOTP: sasuke/sakura. the very worst.

favorite episode: naruto 101, “Gotta See! Gotta Know! Kakashi-Sensei’s True Face!”

saddest death: the characters’ will to change their world for the better, sacrificed to the glory of the military state, like everything else.

favorite season arc: chunin tournament arc

least favorite season arc: i guess it’s the one where naruto goes to the island to learn to control kyuubi or something, on account of me being so infuriated at how he resolved his latent resentment by saying like “nope no anger only happy” that it made me drop the anime for good lol.

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: i don’t hate him per say but i’m really not a kakashi fan.

my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: well. sasuke i guess. they’re all trash tho

my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: NEJI. GODDAMMIT. dunno about the cinnamon part but he definitely desereved better u.u

my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: i really don’t know, i’m pure of soul and free of shame.

my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: Ino/Sakura and Sakura/Karin. and a lot of small ships you stumble upon here and there and go “oh, nice”.

The Untamed/Mo Dao Zu Shi (i watched the anime first so)

the first character i ever fell in love with: Wei Wuxian. he appeared and i was done for.

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: none, i kept loving all of them

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: no i’m good.

my ultimate favorite character™: wei wuxian, once again, main character stan.

prettiest character: jiang yanli. also smartest and most deserving of surviving but. well.

my most hated character: probably jin guangshan, the wen were terrible but at least they were open about it. the guy was a passive assholed but he caused so much shit solely by being his shitty self i’m. yeah, me no like.

my OTP: for the sake of originiality and also because they’re the ones i actually wrote about and read the most, i’m gonna say lan Sizhui/jin ling.

my NOTP: wei wuxian and lan wangji with anyone else but each other

favorite episode: pfff i dunno. the one where they’re happily starving on their shitty mountain and lwj pays a visit.

saddest death: Jin Zixuan. freaking hell. i knew it had to happen but still.

favorite season: going anime to say second one cause i prefer the present timeline.

least favorite season: well, the first then. there’s only two lol.

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: again no hate in me but i guess i’m not as taken with lan xichen as the rest of the fandom seems to be.

X-Men AU for MDZS

1) Wei Wuxian is Magneto, Lan Wangji is Professor Xavier. More or less. It’s not an exact comparison, but it goes for something a la the “First Class” Movie and Early Charles and Erik where they’re super domestic but it’s a loving relationship that gets marred by terrible tragedy as they have to break apart becuase their ideals become opposed to one another. However, that isn’t what their powers are. Wei Wuxian is a full on Necromancer power set (at first it’s just being able to communicate with the dead, then it expands to reviving the dead, and finding a way to keep his own spirit alive after his body dies) while Lan Wangji has sound manipulation powers that he has trained himself to use in conjunction with a guqin.

2) Mo Xuanyu is akin to Joseph. For X-Men AU he’s a clone made of Wei Wuxian’s DNA, set to a younger age, and has the exact same power set. However, the good guys keep the fact that he’s a clone a secret from him until Jin Guanyao exposes the truth to him. This causes Xuanyu to break from the good guys, find Wei Wuxian’s soul and in despair cast aside his own soul let Wuxian take the body.

3) Wei Wuxian had his own asteroid M, and what killed him the first time was when he tried to prevent it from falling into the earth. Most of the residents on the asteroid did perish (becuase of other things going on that made the thing fall) but there was one survivor who was taken in by Lan Wangji.

4) Jin Guanyao is the Black King of the Hellfire Club. Lan Xichen is the White King. Lan Xichen has no idea what Jin Guanyao does with his portion of the Hellfire Club’s resources.

5) Wen Ruohan is an ultimate bad guy.
