The mermaid thought to herself: 'This is why there is sunlight. To see this face, the shape of this body. This is why there are flowers, to make you smile.'

"What are you staring at?" the dryad teased as she took the cookies from the oven.

Flour puffed her hair, painted her small horns. Her eyes are the summer of spring's gayest prim promise, the softness of her pale green flesh adorned with ribbons of tiny wrinkles, laugh lines.

The mermaid sat at the counter, head propped up by her hands, her tail swishing idly in the pale blue bubble of water serving as her chair.

And she thought to herself: 'Your lips seal the greatest gift and to kiss them is to know the taste of love itself.'

"What?!" the dryad asked indignant with amusement now. "I wanted to make cookies! I'll be late out the door, but I'll have cookies to bring with me," she added, slyly, a thief, a librarian ordering an extra copy of a new release so you'll be first in line to get it.

A conspirator, highest level. A partner in every crime. Yours. With you, always, against the world.

The dryad set the cookies down on the counter, turned around to face her wife, just in time for the mermaid to leap across the counter and kiss her.

The couple tumbled to the ground, laughing.

I was cooking just now and i had a realisation about spn & my mom told me that i am overthinking it like 2 sentences in. While i was making her pancakes. Anyway i'm fucking fuming so this is a post now.

Supernatural could have been an amazing critique of the american dream, and it's so close to actually being that. Only if it didn't lose track of itself over the 15 years it was airing.

Sam and Dean, and hunters in general, don't get to have the american dream. They don't get to have an education, a family, white picket fence suburban house, ect. (That is something that is actually said out loud!!! They long to have normal lives. Who's overthinking what here??) this is because of the way they were raised, the things they have seen, and all of the things that want them dead constantly.

They know what lies on the other side of the american dream, they know all of the ways that it fails people, and this follows them home whenever they try to settle down.

A lot of these threats are based on figures from religion (demons, angels, ect.) Which is fitting because American christianity is fucking vicious against anything it hates. Being part of a group of people that is hated by christians makes people's life hell. Actively resisting the conservative fundamentalist ideology that the usa was built on? Oh boy.

This is also part of why the people reading certain characters as queer are so fucking right. Making them part of an actually marginalised group instead of using Hunters as a stand-in for one would have delivered this message much better.

They are faced with hateful #violent monsters that were born from #everything that is wrong with America. Beauty and the Beast Girl

Recently I have been immersing myself in various writing materials lately, predominantly Manga and Manwha. I began to maintain a spreadsheet to rate what I read, and I have observed that a significant number of Yuri works receive a higher rating. My preference for confirmed WLW romance, LGBTQ+ representation, and captivating stories that I can't put down is evident in my ratings. However, one Manga, in particular, stands out. It may not be the most distinguished or well-written, but towards the end, the story had me in tears. I wholeheartedly recommend The Beauty and the Beast Girl, even though it has been completed for a while and is old news. The Manga deserves more recognition than it gets. While some parts of the story may feel like filler, and the author may have lost track of the plot for a period (originally intending to finish it after eight chapters), they eventually get back on track. Once they do, every negative criticism about the Manga becomes irrelevant. It is worth the wait, and there are many reasons to love it. If you appreciate yuri/girl's love/shoujo-ai, then I highly recommend giving it a read.
