It worried her that she couldn't see who or what it was, it meant that they weren't human or a vampire, but rather something else. Having only met other species such as werewolves and hybrids before, it still didn't mean she could see their future. Once Alice made it to the said location, she waited. Why she go alone? She had a valid explanation, sensing the power that they had even before their arrival, she knew that no human would be able to stand up to them and survive; and thus not being human... she would have a better chance at a face-to-face meeting. Not to mention, never being part of a clan, there was no danger of her putting them at risk either.

I love how after reading New Moon I always just assumed that Alice's family was rich and she (like Maggie) made people uncomfortable with her predictions of the future which always came out to be true and she was an embarrassment because they thought she was crazy and that's why they locked her in an asylum
