Mayonnaise is an example of a Bingham fluid, ketchup is an example of a shear thinning fluid, and a cornstarch slurry is an example of a shear thickening fluid – if you mix them together, you get a sauce that might make rheologists cry!

I have so much content but I’m afraid it won’t be good enough for you guys. I think I’m getting the hang of my new schedule and my lab grade is okay again at least. I also had an assignment about procrastination and I panicked thinking that maybe I’m a really bad procrastinator then realised that I was doing the assignment early because I have worked so hard to avoid procrastination.

Don’t be so hard on yourselves.

3rd January - What is your aim for 2022? J'espere que je serai plus heureusement et je sais que je travaillai très dur! I hope that I will be happier and I know that I'll work very hard!

4th January - What is the most important thing that is going to happen to you this year? Je ne sais pas...c'est une surprise! Je fini l'ecole secondaire cette année et je commence des A-levels - vraiment important! I don't know...it's a surprise! I finish school this year and start A-levels - incredibly important!

Exams have started - 5 down and several more to go. It's definitely a learning experience, but I feel drained already! Think I need to work on better exam practice (like going to bed at a decent time, lol). No nice notes at the moment, only practice questions and fear. While I know the importance of exams and I enjoy showing off the hard work I've put in, I'll still be glad when they're over!

2nd December - What is your favourite thing about winter?

The energy that is constant throughout winter from the excitement of the holidays is probably my favourite thing. It’s not a visible or tangible thing but between American celebrations and Mexican celebrations there is so much that happens and it’s so exciting. Plus I’m a sap and I love the whole spirit of giving and random acts of kindness stuff that happens during this time. It feels hopeful and warm.

7th December - How do you stay motivated during winter?

I really do love to learn so after a bit of time without I start to get excited about starting school again. Cozy drinks and fluffy blankets also help. I think during winter especially it’s important to have a space that is not only warm physically but feels warm to you.
