They’re an adopt for the Mochi Raptors species, a semi-open species I help staff! This one is an official closed trait adopt (King Trait, FaceScale; I’m just waiting to get it on the masterlist before I open up for offers!) to push some more adopts into the beginning-of-the-year lineup! :) I just did a raffle on some personal MYOs, so this one will probably be an OTA.

Talking about the Species below the cut!

We’re still in the process of updating the Discord after a hefty site move, but we’d be happy to have you, if anyone is interested in joining the community! Again, the species is Semi-Open, not Closed (We’ve been having some issues with some misinformation popping up, as of recent Im unsure why. There are a total of 7 traits that are closed, and are relatively easy to get! In the past they were somewhat monetary to acquire, but we host events, MYO drops, raffles, and the like nowadays, alongside sales! Adds some excitement to the community.), so as long as you follow the trait rules/lore of a standard Mochi Raptor you’re more than welcome to make one! (And, no, we’re not one of those species that claims to own the concept of a black eyed raptor. Following the trait rules is only about claiming Mochi Raptor on a character, which enables you to interact with the community, lore, and events! :) ) Actually, most of the species is open, barring two sections of traits (6 “King Traits”, and then back wings!), and we have an active staff team that would be more than welcome to answer any questions or concerns you’d have. With some of the things we’re planning behind the scenes and more adopts, events, and raffles to come, I’d like to think we have a good thing going on here!

Erica’s backstory

Trigger warning: fire, mention of abuse

It was Christmas Eve, her family was sleeping. She was tired of living with her parents, they’d always hit her and her big brother and their little siblings. Tonight she’d gather the kerosene and pour it on the floorboards and set the house ablaze. She started pouring it, she started from the kitchen making her way to the Christmas tree. She’d throw a match and run upstairs to wake her siblings. She threw the match, it only landed a few feet away from her near the Christmas tree, shit she thought. She ran up the stairs to wake her older brother up “The house! It’s on fire!” She screamed when he asked why she woke him up. “Fuck! Have you woken our little siblings up yet? Or our parents?” He asked before rushing downstairs “No, I’m going to right now!” She screamed as she walked to her little sister’s room. The doorknob it was hot to the touch “Girls!!!” Erica screamed desperately, she tried opening the door but when she did her sister’s room was already covered in flames. “Shit! No no no! This can’t be! Only mom and dad were supposed to die!” She cried. “Erica! Are you coming down with our sisters and brothers?!” Her brother yelled from outside the house. It was to late for her sisters but the path to her brothers room was blocked by flames she’d be burned if she walked through it. She raced down the steps she hadn’t planned for the fire to grow as quickly as it did, she only saved her big brother but not her little sisters and brothers. It was meant for her parents not them.

Wahoo! A raffle prize breeding (AKA character x character) custom completed! Traditional, scanned-in, watercolor full reference sheet + winner’s favorite closed trait.

This one was for Galaxy Lotus Studios, the winner of day two of Mochi Raptor Discord’s “Staff Mascot Breeding Raffle.” (Basically we took the raffle winner’s chosen character and the day’s staff mascot and mushed them together into a design with a closed trait!) Day two was for my mascot, Oyster, and I’d like to say this design turned out pretty good! It was a very straightforward mix, with my swamp-plant based design and their water/pond based design, but that’s not to say it wasn’t fun. Considering which traits of either “parent” to keep was a blast, and I think I managed to make a fairly individual yet recognizably derivative design.

Haven't made any art in a little while, certainly not mochi art, so I thought I'd spice things up and start a tarot card series. Idk how many I'll actually make but I started with the devil card featuring my mochi Casper.

The purpose of this series more than anything is to push my anatomy skills as I've been trying to brush up on my line work and doing more dynamic poses. :)
