Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar actor Monica Chaudhary wraps Risky Romeo: ” This film is indeed special to me”

The film is written and directed by Abir Sengupta, who had previously helmed Kiara Advani starrer Indoo Ki Jawani and produced Radhika Apte starrer Mrs. Undercover.

After her impressive turn in the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, actor Monica Chaudhary is all set to be seen in a pivotal role in actor Sunny Singh's upcoming neo-noir comic tragedy Risky Romeo. According to the makers, Monica, who played the role of Kinchi, Shraddha's friend in TJMM, will be the "surprise factor" in Risky Romeo. The film is written and directed by Abir Sengupta, who had previously helmed Kiara Advani starrer Indoo Ki Jawani and produced Radhika Apte starrer Mrs. Undercover.

Calling her part "relatable" yet something she has never previously attempted, Monica said, "My look in the film also is very different from all the other work that I have done. When I heard the script and the character for the first time, I was instantly intrigued by the nature of the film and my character being so unpredictable. Sunny has been a wonderful co-actor and I had so much fun shooting Risky Romeo. Now I am eagerly waiting for the world to see it."

Actor Sunny Singh said he loved working with Monica, who he added came on the sets with so much enthusiasm that it was infectious. "The passion with which she dives into her character is amazing. While doing the readings with her during our prep I knew that it was going to be a lot of fun shooting with her and I am extremely happy about the fact that Monica plays one of the most important parts in Risky Romeo," Sunny said.

Director Abir Sengupta said casting for Monica's part was extremely "tricky" but the actor truly surprised the filmmaker by understanding the character adding a lot of depth to it. "Initially it was getting very tricky for me to cast for Monica’s part. I was quite particular about the actor getting it right and then I met Monica who surprised me with her effortlessness and ease with which she performs. And the most important factor was that she understood the depth of the character very well. She gave a lot of time for readings & discussions before the shoot and then, it was a smooth journey for us on the sets. She is a total surprise in Risky Romeo," he added.

The film, also starring Kriti Kharbanda, is backed by producers Anushree Mehta (Jaadugar Films), Priyanka Mehrotra and Rameshchadra Yadav (PR Motion Pictures). Risky Romeo has wrapped its filming and is currently in the post-production stage.

It’s official now thanks to the 2nd issue of the prequel tie-in comic that in “The Flash” movie Saoirse-Monica Jackson is playing Patty Spivot and Rudy Mancuso is playing Albert Desmond/Dr. Alchemy!!! :D Both characters were revealed in the issue that came out today with the actors’ likeness. Sounds like Captain Singh was cast too as he’s also in the issue. All 3 characters were in the “Flash” TV show as well with Patty played by Shantel VanSanten, the Julian Albert version by Tom Felton, and Captain Singh by Patrick Sabongui, so as a fan of the show I’m curious to see how these film versions are.

going back to the seasons with Sister Frances was great, because it meant that Valerie was still there, Lucille was happier than we have last seen her, and Trixie unburdened by romance. on the other hand, season 8 is the abortion season and that means great distress for Valerie. Sister Frances, on her first day happy about visiting a high rise building for the first time in her life, later discovering that Sister Monica Joan is missing, and a day later scrubbing the floor in the Nonnatus Bathroom after Cath had the miscarriage. and she takes this work with her usual humility.

Sister Hilda had to tone down her self-assuredness a bit and pay more attention to her patients and colleagues. I get the fun she feels when being back in Poplar and that she enjoys working with the patients and chatting about this and that. But she also reminds me of one of my aunts: capable, full of ideas and how everything should be done.

Jeannie Tennant asking if women are not allowed to want or not want things. Sharing her fears and her concerns with her husband, her doctor, her midwife and friend - and still left in a position where she saw no other way than to risk her health, her life, by having a backstreet abortion. Cilla Singh having a life-threatening complication that she only survived because she had access to the necessary medical interventions. And eclampsia is only one example of the dangers that pregnancy and birth can bring. Call the Midwife shows us lots of the joy that parenthood entails and how medicine has improved people's lives. The show is also very clear that people need education about their bodies, they need information to make good choices, they need a body of law that supports their bodily autonomy, they need healthcare personnell who is supportive instead of judging and they need a healthcare system that is strong and generously funded. Any lack of these will bring struggle. In Jeannie's case it brought death.

on a lighter note: The Women's own issue with the knitting feature "Blackberry stitch without tears" sounds really good - I'm not a knitter, but I looked up how blackberry stitch looks like and it's nice, and I can see why one would need a detailed instructions on how to make it.

I can completely relate to Mr. Wilson needing to step out while his wife is in labour. On more than one occasion when I was in the room while someone had a procedure done I got lightheaded or fainted. No nursing career for me.

Sister Frances catching ringworm and talking to Sister Julienne about how she's doing. The two of them praying together. It makes me think back on the conversation Cynthia had with Trixie and Patsy about nuns having a not ordinary life. And looking at the nuns we see on this show it becomes clear that each one of them has their own reasons to choose the religious life, at different points in their biography.
