Heyo!! @deputyash and I signed our Single Parent Crossover AU up for @group-oc-tournament and here is why you should vote them when the polls come out!!
Tumblr media
Dove and Dean are single parents who have overcome many trials and tribulations, it takes a lot to raise kids on your own, even before the County they live in fell under the rule of a religious cult.
Said religious cult took interest in both of them and their kids, which made a horrible situation all the more stressful. When they first ran into each other they were both on guard, Dean's oldest son Caleb standing in the middle of them being what ultimately diffused the tense meeting. It wasn't easy deciding to stick together, but with the looming threat of their kids being taken or hurt they agreed being allies would be beneficial.
So the little group formed, on a dark night with a shaky handshake and weary eyes. They found an abandoned house with a bunker and made base in it, Dove and Dean reinforced and barricaded it to the best of their ability and it's served them well since.
The kids, Phoebe, Caleb, Charmeine and Ace got along much quicker than their parents. As an only child Phoebe was ecstatic to be around them and Charmeine was happy to have another girl her age to play with.
Charmeine and Phoebe became a sort of glue for the group, the two becoming best friends and sharing their secret stashes of candy and pins. Their ability to remain optimistic makes the chaos more bearable for their parents.
Caleb, Charmeine and Ace warmed up to Dove very quickly, appreciating her motherly presence and seeing her and Phoebe as welcome additions to the family. Dove of course cares about them in turn, especially as time went on on and she took care of them when Dean was out trying to help rid the County of the cult.
Dean naturally takes care of Pheobe like she was one of his own as well, sneaking her any candy he finds while he's out.
Time passes and while tensions rise with the cult their little group only grows closer, Dove and Dean opening up to each other and even sharing tips they've learnt over their years of parenting. They become pillars for each other, the normalcy of being able to swap recipes and funny childhood stories much needed in the insanity they were living in.
In conclusion they are a sweet little found family in the midst of a holy war and they keep each other sane and safe and deserve your vote!!

Meet Cloudy's parents, Ace (51) and Sinclair (48).
Ace works a desk job at an office and Sinclair owns a small jewelry store.
They were high school sweethearts, the relationship being initiated by Sinclair who kept following Ace around like a patronizing puppy. It didn't help that she'd been his tutor and kept throwing hints for him to ask her out. Poor, dim Ace. Who was he to deny her?
Years later they have Jamie Calamity Camden (aka Cloudy). Sinclair adored her and Ace was just about ready to faint. It wasn't exactly that he wished for a boy but it would've helped better to raise one. Ace had no idea how he would go about raising a girl, so he left most of the parenting to his wife while he focused on providing for the family.
Unfortunately though, Sinclair was a battle axe of a mother. Doting and well intentioned, yes. But towards the rest of the world she was bitter and critical, instilling fear of it into Jamie.

Sinclair: Dandelions symbolize everything I want to be in life
Ace: Fluffy and dead with a gust of wind?
Sinclair: Unapologetic. Hard to kill. Feral, filled with sunlight, bright, beautiful in a way that the conventional and controlling hate but cannot ever fully destroy. Stubborn. Happy. Bastardous. Friends with bees. Highly disapproving of lawns. Full of wishes that will be carried far after I die.

A Special Secret Ch. 6
Everyone cheered as Floyd made the final shot, the basketball meeting the hoop. "And that's the game, everyone! Night Ravens win the game by just a hare!" The announcer gasped, cheering. More cheers filled the room as the team began jumping and celebrating, everyone full of adrenaline.
Ace collapsed immediately, panting. "Oh, thank seven... it's finally over," he panted to himself, "finally."
"Get up," Jamil said, standing by Ace, "I told you, you shouldn't overwork yourself, and what did you do?"
"Overworked myself...but I did miss some practice lately so I wanna work hard," Ace breathlessly laughed, "I can't get up here, I'm weak."
"That was fun!" Floyd cheered, lifting Ace from his state, and jumping up and down.
Jamil sighs from the bench as he watches the duo. "Ok, ok, that's enough, Floyd. Put him down. He's going to lose more energy if you do that to him."
"Aw...fine," Floyd pouted and put Ace down.
"Sorry, I got really burned out," Ace laughed, "I was having fun!"
"Here," Jamil handed him a water bottle, "You should relax. You really pushed yourself out there."
Ace chuckles to himself, "Not on purpose. All part of the game," he takes a sip and sighs, "thanks, Jamil. I needed that." Jamil nods and leaves to check in on the others, giving them water or checking for injuries. Ace smiles to himself until a tingey feeling begins to bother him and he looks down. He gasped to himself as scales slowly appeared.
"Be right back!" He called out, rushing over to the boy's locker rooms. With some force of luck, he found a secluded area as he finally transformed. "As I was celebrating a great victory...this happens to me." He grumbled to himself, carefully lifting himself. "Great Seven, this tail is so heavy...how can one move this thing." He didn't know how long he was in there, but it gave him time to think to himself. 'Is there more of us? Moonbloods are seen as a burden to many, but who created them?' Ace asked himself, ' Why would merfolk ever create a merfolk pool that could cause this absolute mess of hatred?' He sighs, 'The last time I thought like that was for Professor Trien's homework..' Ace sighed to himself, "...But what makes Ortho if he...never been to a moonpool before?"
"Crabby? Crabby??!" Floyd called, "Where are ya!?"
"Is anyone with you?" Ace called back.
"No! Just me!"
"Over here!" Floyd goes over.
"What happens, hmm?" "Soaked up a water bottle," Ace grumbled to Floyd, "did you at least bring a towel?"
"Why need a towel when you have this?" Floyd grinned, showing his moon ring. "Stay still!"
"How could I move with this heavy thing?" Ace remarked. "It's so heavy, it's like carrying a pile of books."
"Well, we're not supposed to be on land, so naturally, we'll be very heavy," Floyd laughs as he uses the moon ring's power to dry up Ace.
"Yeah, I figured." Ace muttered to himself. "I am pretty sure that's why you couldn't...eh, maybe not, I don't know."
"Hey! You guys ok in there?" Called out Jamil, "Come on, Kalim's invited us to a celebration dinner, and we can't miss it."
"We'll be there! Just wait a few minutes?"
"Of course..." Jamil sighs to himself
. ---
"Hope everyone enjoys their food!" Cheered Kalim, as he presented a buffet of food. The Basketball Club were back at Scarabia after their game as Kalim invited them as congratulations for winning.
"Everything looks so good," Ace sighs happily, "and smells delicious!"
"I know!" Floyd agreed, "I'm ready to devour everything. And I mean everything.."
"Please don't." Jamil sighed.
"This is for everyone, please enjoy!" Everyone began eating and chatting among others.
"Oh well, that was such a night," Ace uttered, "I forgot how much basketball can be such a hassle game. I mean, we do play games often, but a full-on game was something I'd forgotten about."
"Yeah," Jamil confirmed, "When we told you about the game today, you were barely prepared, and we had to do a mini-section before we even started." Ace huffs as he begins to eat his plate of food.
"Well, we're proud of you, and we did it! We won!" Kalim exhilarate, "you deserve this feast."
"He's right, we do." After a few minutes, Ace was eaten until he recently noticed some of his food was missing. He knew he didn't eat them, but he knew certain someone would.
Floyd Leech.
He watched as Floyd ate a bon-bon, smirking like he knew what he just did to his teammate. "Something wrong, Crabby?" he sneered, slowly eating a new piece of chocolate in his mouth.
"Did you just take my food?" Ace asked slowly.
"And what if I did?" he chuckled, "do you have any proof?"
"Dude, you're the only person next to me, and I know well that you would steal food."
"But was it me?" "Yes! I know it's you." Floyd shrugs and takes a sip of his drink.
"Don't care," he looks back at his food, "I'll be eating." Ace snarled as he continues to eat his food. He looks over at Floyd once again, but now he had a hidden smirk on his face. With no one around to witness, he immediately began to take small supplies of Floyd's food, munching on them with a satisfied smile. "
You want a war, Crabby?" Floyd hissed, glaring at his teammate.
"Because you just started to a war."
"You took from me, so I took from you." Ace laughs to himself, eating in confidence. "So...let the cannons shoot."
This began a war that lasted for 45 minutes, causing distraught, annoyed, and confused looks.
"This is getting unnecessary..." Jamil hissed, watching Ace and Floyd eat and steal each other's food and drinks like crazy. "It's getting scary," a student muttered to another one, "how could we stop this?"
"I have no idea, but I am curious who will win this." Said another one, watching the duo.
But nobody couldn't stop watching, so distracted by the intense food battle they are witnessing.
"I'm going to end this," Jamil groaned and walks over, "Ok, that's enough! This is extremely childish and it needs to stop."
"But he stole my favorite dessert!!" Floyd pouted, "He needs to pay!" "You stole mine first," Ace protested, "so, I won fair and square." "I can't believe you two," Jamil sighs, "Ace won, end of the story. Floyd, I'll get you some extra desserts, and we'll forget this ever happened."
"Oh, of course, of course," Ace snickered to himself as he looks over to a pouty Floyd, sipping his drink. With a confident smile, he slowly began to freeze Floyd's lips to his cup. With an evil grin, he sips his drink. Only to get hit with the pillow by an upset Floyd, causing his drink to spill all over him. Ace laughs, watching Floyd pout.
Jamil sighs. "How did it get stuck," he mutters as he helps Floyd to the kitchen, "hot water will do the trick.."
Ace could only smirk as he continued to drink more of his juice before a tingle in his legs began. He looks down to see the red-to-orange scales that travel up his legs as he slowly transformed. With no time to lose, he immediately gets up and rushes into the kitchen, where Jamil and Floyd were to warm up Floyd's frozen tongue, and the only room to hide... The Pantry! With the conclusion, he rushes in, ignoring the orders from Jamil, and now sees himself on the floor, his tail long and bright.
"Ace!" Jamil yelled, knocking on the door, "Get out! If you try to eat any of the foods, you'll be banned from Scarabia!" He sighs and looks back at Floyd. "Do you know what's wrong with him?"
"Not at all.." Floyd mutters, looking away from Jamil as he uses his moon ring to keep the door shut, "Maybe the fight got to him...and he's just being a little guppy about it."
"I am not a guppy! And I won that fight fair and square and everyone knows that. Jamil, I know this is super sudden, but please do not come in! I'm...." Ace looks back at his tail and gulps, " a little occupied with something that no one should ever see, and I mean that," he begins to freeze the door handle, "It's for your own good."
"Hiding in the pantry is not going to be for my own good if you stay in there," Jamil hissed, pulling the handle but with no budge, then looking over at Floyd, "Aren't you going to help?"
"Nah, it's none of my business." Floyd remarked, trying to hide his moonring, "and besides, maybe we should tell the others?"
'Is he officially mad!? Or he is that petty and mad after all of that?' Ace thought to himself.
"Unlike your housewarden, I'd like to solve things on my own without resorting to others as a last resort, but help would be appreciated," Jamil looks over at Floyd, "like you."
"Like I said, no." Jamil groaned to himself as he continued to pull on the door, which was now cold as ice. What was so odd was that Ace had to hide it, he wondered to himself, but of course, everyone has their secrets and even he was no exception. He kept pulling until a light blocked his vision. He looks.
"You..still have that?" He asked Floyd, now focused on the ring on his finger, "I thought Azul said to keep those hidden, didn't he?"
Ace stopped. "Jamil knows about the Moon rings?" he whispered to himself, "how?"
"I like it, so I wear it," Floyd pouted, "Is that a problem? You don't use them anymore."
"Doesn't mean I didn't notice it. You're using it to keep the door shut, so I can't see Ace." Jamil smirked and looked at the door, "Ace is one of you now, is he? Was it by force or accident?" He grabbed Floyd's hand, "I ask for you to stop, or I'll make you." He grabbed a glass and filled it with water.
"Oh, you wouldn't," Floyd gasped, moving away.
"Oh, I would, if you put that ring away." Jamil chuckled, "but since you are being stubborn, I have to go to desperate measures to do it. And this is one of those moments." With that, he threw the water onto Floyd and watched him transform.
"Did I ever mention that you are a massive jerk?" Floyd pouted. "Only from Azul, and maybe Yaz," Jamil walked over and knocked on the door, "Nice try, Ace, but this is not my first rodeo. Best to surrender and explain yourself."
Ace sighed. He knew the gig was up and in flames.
---
"How long?" Jamil asked, giving Ace a towel. "Not for long," Ace answered, using the towel, "only for a week and a half. I found it and I was just curious, and this happened. But I'm managing myself." "Yeah, hiding in the pantry was a great example of that."
Jamil replied sarcastically, "I can't believe this. I thought I left this behind, but it somehow comes back to me."
"Don't blame Crabby for this," Floyd said, eating a cookie, "it was an accident, and you know, accidents happen."
"Like that night?" Jamil snapped, "When you transformed me?"
"Technically the moonpool transformed you, not us," Floyd sighed, "and you got what you wanted, didn't you? You got rid of your powers and you're normal now."
"After a full year," Jamil added, "my freshman year here. I met you, Jade, and Azul, and you told me about the blue moon, which changed me back but so much happened that made it so horrible for me. Although Kalim made it better by being a support but that was just small enough."
"Long story short," Ace looked up, "Jamil was a moonblood, like me, and he changed back under a blue moon, which can be rare?"
"Yeah, and now you're one." Jamil nodded. "It's sad, but it already happened, so I don't know how to help you."
"Hey, how about not telling anyone what you say? Cause that'll be great." Ace groaned, "But I'm curious, how did it exactly happen? If you don't mind me asking?"
"...I guess I should, it's a while ago anyways now," Jamil shrugs, "After the ceremony, Kalim and I decided…more like Kalim planned to camp for a miniature celebration. Of course, I had to come on."
---
"See, this is the perfect place. And we're still on Sage's island," Kalim looked around, "And here might be a good spot. It has such a beautiful view of the lake, and we can fish...I can try at least."
With a laugh, he walks over to the lake.
Jamil sighs in relief as he finished setting up the tent, "I'm glad. And you're right, the view is nice. How about we start fishing and cooking?"
"Awesome!"
---
"OH! I remember," Floyd gasped and smiled, "I saw you along with Jade. As we tried to diverse you from actually going, but we failed."
---
Two heads emerged from the ocean behind the boys. "Two humans..." Jade whispered to Floyd, "here. This should be bad, what if they find the moonpool?" He pondered, swimming a little closer. "Or worse, Azul finding out?"
"You are way too paranoid," Floyd remarked, "they look clueless, like jellyfish. They can't find the cave from miles away." He giggled, "besides, Azul is so preoccupied with the sea ceremony that he couldn't care less."
"That's what you think, Floyd," Azul scoffed, "as if I didn't notice two land boys arriving on our territory. But they're not a problem, the ceremony should be our priority." He looks back, "Come on now, let's go." With Azul leading, the merfolk swam down and into their moonpool.
"What should I do with the both of you?" He sighed to himself.
"Aw, don't be like that, Azul," Jade giggled, "After all, after this, we'll be unbanned, and swimming with others again. I'm rather excited, aren't you two?"
"I'm super excited!" Floyd laughed, "The feeling of the full moon unto your skin as you swim under its gaze...it's so fun! And this will reunite that feeling." Floyd splashed around, earning laughs from Jade and groans from Azul.
"I suppose I am excited." Azul admitted, "This is such an opportunity to show them that you two have matured and aren't dangerous. That's all I care about." He smiles, "Now, relax, and wait until the moon rises."
---
"That brings us to that night," Jamil sighed, "the moon was out, and I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to look at the stars for a while."
Ace could only listen, he couldn't get a word in. That was mainly how shocked he was, hearing the two perspectives of his two upperclassmen.
---
Jamil looked at the stars and couldn't sleep due to Kalim's movements and snores. He watched as the moon rose, creating a beautiful reflection. "Beautiful," He mumbled, "makes me miss home."
He gets up and begins to walk around, trying to rest his head, after feeling a surge of homesickness. A nature walk may help him. As he walked, a bright orange light began to glow brighter as he walked closer, due to curiosity. He had never seen anything like it before, a passageway surrounded by earth. It was just there, no one walking in or out of it. As if hypnotized, he walks in. He kept going until his path stopped, to only meet a wall, but one with a circular doorway and a symbol of a trident shined bright as if reacting to Jamil's presence. "A..a trident?" he whispered to himself, reaching out to it.
Before he could touch it, he felt the floor disappear and fell to the pool that was beneath him.
---
"Great Sea Witch, that scared me so badly," Floyd admitted, "he just appeared, and it was so scary...we didn't know what to do when he appeared. To us, he just appeared from thin air."
---
"Ah, this energy is what I missed," Jade sighs happily, "It's so magical."
"Yeah!" Floyd laughed, "this is so easy, just resting upon the pool, feeling the moon on your tail."
"This was supposed to be a silent affair," Azul reminded, "we shouldn't talk too much, what if someone would hear us?"
"You worry too much," Floyd groaned, "live in the moment and breathe in the ocean air! Come on, what could happen here? Other than invasive merfolk?" Once those words left his mouth, a scream from an unknown boy was heard and a splash rippled the pool water.
Azul immediately went to the boy's rescue, helping the boy up, and checking for injuries as Jade and Floyd looked around at where he came from, but to no avail.
"Is he ok?" Jade asked, looking at Azul.
"Thankfully, but where did he come from?" Questioned Azul, holding the human in his arms, "there's no way in other than the waterway."
"Maybe magic?" Floyd guessed, looking up, "maybe there was a secret entrance then we didn't know? The moonpools do work that way,"
"That sounds plausible," Jade agreed, "how about we take him back to land?"
"Let's do that." Quicky, they left the moonpool, found the camp site that Floyd and Jade saw earlier, and carefully set up on the land, leaving as if they were never there.
---
"You saved him?" Ace asked, "but what happened to the sea ceremony?" ".... not good," Floyd looked down and messed with his ring, "...the council are not nice merfolk, by the way. They were judgy, very judgy.."
---
"You all let a human in?! Do you know how bad this is for us as merfolk!? To have such incompetent merfolk like you to handle this...why did we let Veronica convince us." The leader raged, swimming back and forth.
"It was an accident," Azul spoke up, "the fact you're blaming us for not checking is highly unprofessional."
"Then your friends should've paid more attention to their own surroundings." The council leader snapped, "If it weren't for them, we'd still have Sage's Island as our home." Azul's eyes darkened as he grabbed the speechless twins and held their hands tightly.
"I'm sorry, but it's not their fault that this happened."
"We had very influence on what happened," Jade exclaimed, "as if we knew there was a secret passageway that we didn't know of, so it seems to us you'd just seemed unfair."
"Very unfair," Floyd looked away.
"Y'know your council had warned us that you two would be trouble and trouble would you to be."
"We're leaving," Azul announced, "Come you two," Azul's grip dragged the two away, ignoring the council behind them.
----
"Yeesh, they don't sound nice at all," Ace winced, "they sound horrible." Floyd nodded.
"As for me, I woke up, and Kalim was cooking. After a while, we packed and went back to Night Raven Collage. I thought I was dreaming of that night but the time night rose in Scarabia, it all made sense."
---
Jamil watched the bath filled with water, and the bubbles formed along with it. He needed it after spending a day in the woods, and to get rid of the woody smell.
"Jamil!" cried Kalim, "Sorry if I was bothering you, but I got a nice food try for you. I made it myself! As a thank you for yesterday." Jamil nods as he carefully gets in, resting in the nice bath.
"You can come in, Kalim..." he sighs, sinking into the water and closing his eyes. The rest was that he heard the door open, a huge gasp, a clash that belonged, and a quick slam of the door.
"What happened to you?!" Jamil gasped, "How did this..."
"How did what happen?" Jamil opened his eyes and looked over at Kalim's shocked face. "What's with the noise?"
"Jamil...you didn't notice," Kalim whispered, and looked over at something.
Jamil followed as his eyes met with a blood-red tail, long enough to peak out of the tub he was in. He could only stare but it hit him so badly that he had to cover his mouth to prevent a scream.
---
"That's how it happened," Jamil sighed, "and the rest became history,"
"Man...I think both are horrifying," Ace started.
"But overcame it in the end," Jamil faltered, "now how about we get back to the dining area and you two better not fight this time. I'm serious" Ace and Floyd watched Jamil leave and look back at each other. "I should never take you and Jade for granted. I'm sorry that the council sucked, I wouldn't like it either." Ace apologized.
"It's...meh, but I can handle it. Now..let's eat!" Floyd smiled and walked away.
"Maybe I should leave early...I still have to meet up with the others." Ace said to himself, "Maybe it'll be better than this, and I don't have to get wet this time." With that, he walks out of the kitchen.

SPLATOON OC TOURNEY ROUND 3 BATTLE 5
Moon (the one on the left) by @ace-octo-pix vs Lin by @corn418
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BACKSTORY/PROPAGANDA
MOON
an octoling born in the domes. she enjoyed her time with the few friends she made, but her parents constantly moving between domes and her seeing the detoriating condition made her reject it in a teenage moment and escaped to inkopolis, changing her tentacles to blend in with the locals there. a year or so later, she stumbles onto captain cuttlefish, becoming agent 3. as an octoling. she's still fully against anything related to octavio, who she blames completely for the conditions of the domes. of course its more complicated than that but she's 14 and fighting against them. When she beats up octavio, things get complicated fast when the other octolings ask her... how best to escape. when her previous path has been blocked off. and she tries to help them. she remembers a bit of the community, and things get so much more complicated, and she's still trying to hide from cuttlefish by covering up her forehead suctions. this does wonders for her personal schedule and she dedicates herself too much to work. However, when coming across agent 8 (before the memory loss), they reunite before Something attacks them and sends them spiraling into the underground, leaving Moon alone to try and work her way out of something again. she gets taken over. captain cuttlefish learns. and after that, Moon has to deal with having free time again... and during the time of learning how to have personal hygiene and do turf wars for fun again, she falls for agent 8, Sun, once more. And then she becomes captain and at this point i'm still forming things. still trying to keep that balance, which marie and callie help with. yeah. agent 3 octoling oc!

She didn’t know where she was running to or what direction she was going. She just ran. She didn’t know how it was possible to run towards and away from something at the same time, especially when what she was running towards was a mystery with no promise of safety or acceptance. But she did it anyway. Her mother told her so.
‘ “Run. Avenge us. Find the others and save our future. Please, my sweet lamb. Run. Run as fast as you can. You are our only hope!” ’
Her mother…
She was probably brittle bones and ashes by now, locked up and burned alive with the other outcasts Joseph Crackstone had swore to rid the Earth of. But not her. She was an Addams, and she could’ve bet her life that that was what gave her the stealth, fight, and grit to escape—to survive.
But her mother wasn’t an Addams, and she was part of her mother. This left a heaviness in her heart, so heavy that it wasn’t the drifting smoke that had her choking to catch her breath as she sprinted through the dark night. It was her own tears. Every pant held a sob that made her vision blur and her chest scream for air. If she were honest, she wanted to scream. She had never known this sense of heartbreak before, and it was so overwhelming, she wanted to fall to her knees, cry herself blind, and scream herself hoarse, all at once. But no matter how much she fell apart, it wouldn’t fix anything. It wouldn’t change what had happened. And it wouldn’t help her with acing Crackstone’s test.
She was a witch. She was an Addams. Goody Addams. She would wear that name on her sleeve, inked permanently with blood and lies.
She wasn’t out of the woods yet.
She wiped her sleeve over her eyes, doing her best to dry them as she raced on. It was just slowing her down. If she were going to go on to do anything in this wretched world, it would be what her mother had wished her to do. Avenge.
The smoke started to fade, and the chilling breeze engulfed her as she entered the woods. Trees for miles with hidden caves and animal shelters lurked in its shadows. Jericho was half-urban and half-rural, beckoning anyone who dared to venture into its mysterious, non-humanly inhabited territories.
Luckily for Jericho’s notorious outcasts, they weren’t afraid of mysteries. But cross them with another outcast, it was a 50/50 shot at being friends on sight.
And Goody was about to experience that for herself. Not only were her footsteps rapid, crushing fallen leaves and branches, but she was gasping for breath, working around her developed congestion. Loud and sensibly weak intruders always lured in stealthy, territorial dwellers.
For the longest time, all she could hear was her own panting, and all she could see was the moonlit streaked trees. That was until a violent snarl screamed in her ears, and before she could blink, white fur blurred from her right and breath-taking pain shot through her body.
She felt her back hit the hard ground, followed by her head, which forced a cry from her. When she opened her eyes, glowing amber ones were wild as they stared only inches from her own. Large paws with razor claws pierced her shoulders to pin her down, and pearlized fangs bared in her face. The snarl that she had heard deepened into a venomous growl that dared her to move so they could deliver a killing bite.
She was face-to-face with a wolfed-out werewolf.
At first, her breath was stolen from her, chest heaving but barely any oxygen coming in. But her will to live, to run, to avenge was stronger than the weight that held her down. Much stronger.
Goody reached down her leg to retrieve her switchblade, like she had done with Joseph Crackstone, and right when the werewolf’s jaws parted to maul her face, she jerked it up and slashed their muzzle. Hot blood splattered across her face as a pained yelp interrupted the deep, growling vocals. The wolf backed off to paw their sliced snout, which allowed her to get to her feet and defend herself properly.
The enemy shook their head and whimpered, before glaring up to see their opponent in a better light. Seeing her upright and with a moment to actually process her visuals, their eyes softened, almost in a relieved kind of way. They huffed, a small stream of crimson giving some dark tones to their pelt.
Addams shifted her stance, her blade held out as a warning. Though the werewolf didn’t try to attack her again. Instead, the size of their figure ceased, and their fur began to vanish. Their limbs, ears, and muzzle shortened with slowing pants.
They were phasing-out.
The human form they took on was a young boy, probably only a couple of years older than herself. Black hair, dark chocolate eyes, and fair skin. He was still bleeding, red smeared on his hand from pawing it, but he wasn’t angry anymore.
Goody was the first to speak. “What makes you so quick to strike?”
The boy grunted as he got to his feet. “I’m sorry…” he instantly apologized, “I— I thought you were one of the pilgrims.”
“Did you not smell the smoke on me?” she quizzed.
He became more attentive at this, seeming to forget the relentless stinging that throbbed beneath his sliced flesh. “I do now.” He took a step closer to her, “You escaped the risen Hell of the Devil?”
The young girl’s eyes narrowed. “Yes. Though it cost many outcasts’ lives, including my mother’s.” Her voice strengthened a little as her chin dipped, “I seek revenge on Joseph Crackstone. ‘Twas my mother’s final request.”
Chocolate eyes flashed in the moonlight as the werewolf came even closer, not hiding his interest in her as he did so. “As do I,” he revealed. He never looked away from her, however he did raise his hands to show he was no longer a threat. “Forgive me. I didn’t realize you were a fugitive outcast as well…”
Goody glanced down to her aimed weapon. She hesitated to lower it, for the grief of her mother quickly set in. Her mother had always told her about the different paths she may phase through as a psychic. The paths of a Dove and a Raven were the two most common ones. This night was when her white wings turned black in favor of the Raven’s domain. She was alone, unable to trust others, even if they happened to be just like her—an outcast, wanted and hated by Joseph Crackstone and his followers. She knew what she wanted. She knew what she was after. But a lifetime seemed to be planned out in a matter of minutes. That’s what ignited her inner Raven. However, she reluctantly lowered the knife anyway and kept it close to her side. “And you are?”
His gaze was steady as he replied, “Jun.”
“From what pack of werewolves do you reside, Jun?” She nearly cut him off as she asked him this.
“The Sinclair Pack.”
She kept her distance, studying him as if she wasn’t sure he was telling the truth. But then he asked.
“And your name is?”
Not a chance would she disclose her real name to anyone now. Goody was her new name, and as much as she may resent it, she would grow to use it as a trademark. Something that she could make sure would go down in history on Crackstone’s grave.
He gave her a name, she used it to her advantage. Anonymous, yet completely obvious. Afterall, she was an—
“Addams,” she told him, having to lift her chin a little as he came even closer to her. “Goody Addams.”
Jun nodded. “Well, I suppose we got off to a rough start, Goody.” He then held his hand out for a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Goody couldn’t conceal her fiery streak as she agreed to meet his hand. “Isn’t it?” An intrigued growl rumbled in his throat, which made her pull away, but a small smile actually grew upon his face.
“So… You escaped the talons of Demon Crackstone?” She gave a short nod, and he recalled what she had said previously. His warm expression faded into solemnity, and he bowed his head. “My condolences for your mother. May she rest peacefully now—”
“No.”
He quickly looked up to meet a defiant blaze gleaming back at him.
“She shall only rest peacefully, when Crackstone is dead. And I will make sure of that.”
Sinclair held her gaze for a long moment. She was still, deadly serious as she stared at him; however, she was trembling at the same time. Shivering from the breeze or seething with rage, he couldn’t be for sure. This girl was tiny, only a little over 5 feet tall, yet there was a fire in her that made her appear so much bigger. Goody was a name typical of the pilgrim culture, but he could tell that wasn’t the case for the one who stood before him. This was someone who would turn that name into something aspiring and ambitious.
He had a feeling—a strong feeling—that she meant what she said. She would be The One That Got Away, except they wouldn’t condemn her or defy her… they would salute her. She would become a legend in her bloodline. She would set the standard for what it truly meant to be an Addams.
But that wouldn’t be tonight. Tonight, he could see there were more short-term problems that needed mending, before she could go on to achieve her vengeance. “And shall you kill him by your mother’s grace,” he granted her acceptance of her last statement. His eyes trailed down to her ripped dress and the cuts that tattooed themselves on her arms and legs, all of which had been cleared of their former covering. “You’re hurt…” He gently took her hand and raised it to show her.
Goody found her injuries by surprise. She hadn’t felt any of those curse her, only the impact she had made with the ground when Jun had pounced on top of her. But he was right. There was smeared blood and dirt making a canvas out of her. Her adrenaline was still surging, so it was no wonder why she couldn’t feel any pain. Just the look of them made her cringe inside though. But she didn’t show it. “I’m fine,” she lied, pulling her arm away.
Though, Sinclair wasn’t convinced. “Might I take you back to my pack, so I can help you bandage?”
“You shan’t,” she snapped. “We’ve only just met. My ailments are of no concern to you.”
He shrugged, “But I’m involved now. Werewolves are extremely attentive, Ms. Goody Addams.” He watched her step back, twisting the arm he stared at behind her. He blinked, elevating his attention to find her cold eyes again. “I won’t take you back to my pack. Though, I ask that I may watch over you for the night. You’re injured and exhausted. You need rest, do you not?”
The other hesitated. The longer she stood there, talking with this werewolf, looking at his calm eyes, and taking in the wild peace around them, her sympathetic system was winding down. Like it was cued, a subtle stinging started to grow on her limbs, and her muscles ached from the violent tension they had been under. “How can I trust you, Jun Sinclair?”
“Where else will you find shelter tonight?”
“I never said I would settle—”
“And if your body fails you?”
“How I condone myself is my business.”
“Please?”
Goody stared at him. He explained, “Nevermind you see it as anything more than me making up for attacking you… I apologized, though I feel I still owe you.” He raised his hand to take one of her braids in between his fingers, noting the ash that tarnished its natural blonde color.
One night. She really could use some rest and someone to stay by her. Her mother had always been that someone.
But she was gone…
So, she gave a short nod.
And he smiled. “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me yet,” she replied, beginning to walk on as he motioned her to follow him. “Shall I stay ‘til dawn should you express your gratitude.”
He chuckled, a warm sensation flooding his face as he blushed lightly. Thank God, she was behind him, so she couldn’t see. “I’ll wager that, Ms. Addams.”
But little did he know, she was more content with this decision than she let on. She was still standoffish, make no mistake, but his eyes and gentle voice that proved his apologetic honesty about attacking her had brought her the first sense of comfort she had felt all night.
And that was promising…

Family Outing 💕
[close ups & short excerpt of the scene that inspired this under the cut]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Is that so?" The man mutters, tapping in the price of his items more aggressively than necessary into the register. He looks like he's about to say something else but the sound of heavy booted footsteps cuts him off and Caleb is relieved to see Dean step into the doorway.
"You good bubs?" He asks, one arm resting against the doorframe as the other was tucked away in his pocket.
"Yeah i'm good dad, i'll be out in a sec," He smiles and Dean nods, lingering for a second as he glances at the man behind the register.
"Kay, we'll be by the fence—Charmeine's about to eat your brother so don't take too long," He hums, tapping his closed fist against the doorframe as he pushes himself back and points to the right. Caleb giggles and Dean smiles warmly, but is quick to shoot the elderly man a warning look before he walks back out of sight.
"Seventeen bucks," The man grumbles, holding his hand out expectantly. Caleb places the money in his hand and swipes his small haul.
"Keep the change," he says, a hint of smugness in his words as he hurries out. He really just didn't want to be in there for any longer than he needed to be and he's glad as the scoff that follows him out the door is less than pleasant.
Charmeine spots him first and starts rushing up to him as he makes his way over, Dean holding Ace on his hip and leaning against the less than sturdy looking wooden fence.
"Did you get my juice?" Charmeine asks, pushing her sunhat up as she stops in front of him, blue eyes zoned in on the snacks in his arms. Caleb holds out the apple juice, yanking it higher in the air as she goes to grab it.
"What do we say?" He hums, mocking the words his dad had said to him many times and making said man roll his eyes as he grins cheekily.
"Thank you Caleb," Charmeine draws out the words similar to how kids greet their least favourite teacher in the morning and Caleb relents, tossing her the bottle. She squeals as she fumbles to catch it but a smile blooms on her face as she does and she happily skips with him back to their brother and dad.
"You want me to put that in my bag?" Dean asks, nodding his head to the snacks and his drink but Caleb shakes his head, falling into step with his dad as they head back onto the trail.
"Nah I got it," Caleb brushes off the offer and Dean nods.
"Okie dokie—So! My lovely little terrors, where to next?" He asks, raising his hand to fix Ace's wispy hairs and adjust his bucket hat so it was out of his eyes.
"Cheesburger!" Charmeine exclaims, swinging her stick around as she all but hopped ahead of them. Caleb giggled at his little sister, watching her jump over small twigs and rocks on the ground like an excited bunny.
"We already had lunch honey," Dean says gently, watching her with a smile of his own.
"No dad, she means the bear," Caleb corrects him, holding in his laughter as Dean looks down at him with confusion written all over his face.
"I'm sorry the what now?"
"Cheeseburger, look!" Charmeine digs a crumpled piece of paper from her dress's pocket, holding it up to Dean who takes it gingerly and struggles to straighten it out against his jeans. He looks over the paper and Caleb grins at the very unsure look on his face, he looks at Caleb who simply shrugs and unscrews the lid of his coca cola.
"I have some concerns," Dean says flatly, mouth closing in to a straight line as he tucks the paper away into his own pocket.
"Please daddy, i've never seen a bear before! They said you can pet him and everything!" Charmeine cries out, small arms wrapping around his waist, small sandaled feet standing on his boot as he manages to keep walking with her now attached to him like a baby koala. Caleb tries to hold back his snickering as his fathers face seems to pale at the thought of his five year old daughter patting a fully grown brown bear.
"The flier said it's safe dad, he's like domesticated or something," Caleb says in an attempt to reassure him, he kind of wanted to see the bear too if he was being honest. It would be cool.
"Ple—ease dad," Charmeine begs, leaning back and giving their dad her best puppy dog eyes and pout combo she could muster. Caleb was impressed, especially when he noticed the tears welled up in the corner of her eyes. He'd taught her well, he thought with a proud smile as Dean let out a sigh that Caleb knew was one of utter defeat. No one could deny Charmeine’s puppy dog eyes.
Dean looked down at Ace who was about as interested in what was going on as a toddler could be, big blue eyes looking back at him with not a single thought in them.
"What do you think Ace, you want to see the bear too?" He asks and Caleb grins, reaching up to grab his brother's small cheeks.
"Yes I do and if you don't take us I'm gonna throw up on your shirt," Caleb puts on a higher pitched voice, Ace giggling as he squishes his cheeks to make it look like he was talking. Dean bursts into laughter and Charmeine giggles. Caleb's hand falls back to his side as he watches his dad shake his head, looking down at him with an endearing gaze.
"Well it looks like I'm outnumbered," he sighs. Charmeine cheers in delight, jumping off of Dean and running ahead in excitement. Ace babbles happily and baps at Dean's face, wiggling in his grip and making him shift him to his other arm. Caleb happily falls into his dads side as he wraps an arm around his shoulders, watching Charmeine as she races up the trail.
"What am I gonna do with you," Dean mutters mostly to himself, looking down at Caleb who takes a contemplative sip of his drink.
"Feed us, love us, make sure we don't get eaten by a bear—you know, the usual dad stuff," Caleb replies, Dean chuckling and ruffling his hair.
"You know what I think I can do that,"
"You're checking all the boxes so far,"

I have not been writing a ton atm, doing all the october prompts wiped me out but I have some small things to share!!
Very small sneak peak at a Charmeine third bday fic that's in the works bc it's comin up soon 🥺💕
John had been counting down the minutes, unable to sleep due to his excitement. It was ten minutes to midnight, ten minutes until Charmeine's third birthday. The toddler was tucked in between Dean and himself, currently curled against Dean with one of her small hands clutching onto a handful of his hair. John gently petted her head, her light brown hair soft as silk under his palm. He could barely believe it had been three years, it still felt like they brought her home for the first time a week ago.
Well, she was much bigger than she was then, he remembers when he was able to tuck her small body against him with one arm. Not that he held her like that often, she'd been a wriggly one since she took her first breath and two arms were always advised when carrying her. Not everyone took that advisery under consideration, Jacob had constantly given John grey hairs with how haphazardly he carried his niece.
More of the single dad au, this time with a fun lil conversation about mortuary work bc I was watching a lot of playthroughs of the mortuarys assistant
Caleb laughs as Dean flops down on the couch, stretching out and resting his back over Caleb's legs. He lets out a dramatic sigh of content as he gets comfortable, Caleb trying to hold back his giggling as he bats at his dad's side.
"Is it just me or did the couch get bumpier?" Dean asks, eyebrows pulled tight together as he shimmies in place. Caleb rolls his eyes as Dean grins, playfully nudging Caleb's stomach with his elbow.
"Dad!" Caleb groans half heartedly, the grin on his face giving him away as he swats Dean's arm away. Dean chuckles and rests his arms down, opening his mouth to say something when the sound of quick footsteps interrupts. Charmeine jumps up and bodyslams on top of him before he can get a word out; earning a loud burst of laughter from Caleb.
"Oomf—hello sweetie," Dean coughs as Charmeine clambers up on him, sitting on his stomach and holding her hands up. Dean lifts his hands up and allows Charmeine to play a one sided game of paddy cake as she beams down at him.
"Daddy, do you want to hear what I learned today?"
"Of course I do angel, what did you learn?"
"Annie's daddy makes dead people pretty for funerals," Charmeine relays, continuing slapping Dean's hands and clapping along to a tune in her head. Caleb makes a sound akin to a scoff as both he and Dean look at her with their mouths fallen open in shock.
"Oh... Delightful!" Dean says after a moment of silence, glancing at Caleb who just shakes his head in disbelief.
"She says she gets to put makeup on them." Charmeine adds and Caleb repeats the sound he made before much less subtly.
"Is that allowed?" He asks, looking down at Dean who squints up at the ceiling in thought, before pursing his lips and shrugging gently.
And as always I have art wips coming out the wazoo, have a sneak peak at the 3 most recent ones <3

Ambrose summer vacation: Vincent x OC x Bo
Title: The Ambrose Summer Vacation
Ao3 link Chapter 2 here. Chapter 3 here.
Summary: On vacation in southern Louisiana, a friend is seduced by a handsome southern man to visit his museum in a small town called Ambrose. The vacation lasts longer than intended. During her stay, Katyusha tries her best to get a hold of the Sinclair brothers, to understand what is going on, and perhaps to claw her way to freedom. Their receptiveness to her soon causes a complicated predicament and her struggles grow as she gets in over her head.
Contents: Vincent x OC and Bo x OC. OC is female, named, but has otherwise little specified backstory. Slower burn than my usual stuff, and it is dark. It is a poly fic, but no threesomes and the brothers aren't involved with each other.
Warnings: Kidnapping, canon-typical violence.
Wordcount: 1283 words.

Ambrose was never on the list of places to visit that summer, yet it is where we eventually went. The wind was warm that day, and it was almost unbearable in Johanna’s car with the broken AC. We made fans out of magazine paper to have at least a bit of breeze. Visiting a small town’s wax museum had seemed stupid and frivolous even then, but Maxim had decided on going. Nico and I were not big fans, but what could it hurt? It was after a handsome man gave Maxim the tip and the directions, and we all knew how Maxim could not resist that southern accent…
When the murders started, I was asleep in a bedroom at the old Sinclair house. Stupidly, stupidly asleep. A migraine had made it impossible to be in the sun any longer, and the handsome man had offered to walk me to his home, so I could lay down for a bit. Maxim went with me, becoming the first to be caught in their grasp.
After waking up, taking another dose of all possible painkillers I had on me and drinking a good glass of water, I felt better. In my hazy, romantic mood, I was touched by the kindness the stranger had provided us. Southern hospitality. I found the kitchen, with a plan taking form.
To bake something sweet, sand cookies; the way I made them when I was little. And to leave some cash for the ingredients, which were only flour, sugar, milk, cinnamon. I shaped them with a chipped beer glass and pressed the edges with a fork.
A voice sounded from another room deeper in the house, Bo’s. Something was up. My movements halted, but then the cooking alarm beeped, and I was spurred into action. Shut off the alarm, finding oven mitts.
“I told you to take care of her,” Bo said, deep, almost hushed but much too loud. Something mean to his tone. Getting closer. “Well, if she’s not asleep, where is she? Should’ve been too easy. Just surprise ‘em like you always do, what do you mean you don’t-”
Pushing the oven door open, I squatted and quickly took out the baking tray. Plating the cookies I put so much love and gratitude into, hissing at the heat of them.
And when I turned around, plate in hand, I came face to face with Bo. Next to him stood a masked man with long, black hair. The energy in the kitchen had shifted. In every way, the men demanded attention, intimidating me with their broad shoulders and tall postures. The table in between us provided little sense of safety, as the men blocked any possible exit.
“There she is,” Bo smirked, the smirk that had caused us to come here in the first place. I cursed his face inwardly. “And what have you been up to, darlin’?”
With eyes like that of a deer caught in the headlights, oven mitts still on, I wondered if this would be the end. “I-“ Voice croaked. “I baked cookies, as a thank-you for being so kind. Were you… looking for me? Where’s Maxim?”
I held the plate out to both men, neither made a move to take one, so I put the plate down on the table, threw the mitts on the counter. They shared a look. The masked one signed something, the other one shook his head. I wiped my hands on my skirt, fisting the material to ground myself.
Bo shifted his attention to me. “Change of plans, sweets. It seems Vincent has taken a liking to you, so there’s a few options.”
“Oh, I don’t like the sound of that,” I mumbled, then raising my eyebrows to let them know how to continue. Vincent signed something, looking at me. “I’m sorry, I don’t speak American Sign Language. Can you perhaps write it down?”
With fast scribbles, he did so. ‘I would like to draw you’, was all it said as he held up the small sketchbook. I leaned forward, hands on the table, to read it.
“Alright, that should be possible, certainly,” I said slowly, still unsure. A glance at Bo unsettled me even more. “But what was that before, what-“
Bo answered, smirk growing wider. “Perhaps you’ll find out soon enough. Now, off you go, Vince’s workshop is in the basement.”
Basement? That did not bode well. Vincent grabbed my arm before I could protest, and without thinking, I grabbed a few cookies - determined to enjoy my last moments on earth - and followed him. His grip was strong enough to bruise.
Tumblr media
The workplace was dark, lit only by candles. Shadows flickered over the walls. There was a bed in the corner, on it laid a dog. She perked up her eyes when she spotted her master.
There was a wooden table in the middle of the room, with all sorts of stains, and workbenches against two of the walls. The man let go of my arm, pinning me in place with a stare instead. He sat down on the stool by the workbenches and pushed his hair behind his shoulder. He found a pencil, larger papers. I set the cookies down on the edge of the table, instinctively wiping the crumbs off. Vincent gestured to the bench, assuming I needed to sit down, I hopped on it, dangling my legs. With anxious eyes I followed his every move.
He studied me. Endlessly, before putting pencil to paper. Attempting bravery, I met his gaze. Quickly I grew used to the white mask and its expressionless face, framed by the long hair. Suddenly he stood, putting paper down and his hands were on me again. Positioning me. Close enough so I could feel his overbearing warmth, his masculine smell. He made me pull up my legs into a tailer’s sit, to lean back and look away from him. Somewhere to the right of the basement. His hands lingered as he positioned my chin. He pulled away, sat down again.
With a glance at him, I asked: “Can I talk still?”
Only a nod. He started sketching.
“The dog, what’s her name?”
On the top of the paper, he wrote ‘Jonesy’, before bending over the paper again.
“Thanks. She looks very sweet.”
Silence. Just pencil on paper. My throat felt dry. After this… What then? ‘Surprise ‘em like you always do’, as Bo had said?
“Is your back okay like that? Wouldn’t it be better to rest the paper on the table?” I asked, scratching my head, then resuming position again. He barely looked up, but did adjust his posture.
It didn’t take long for anxiety to make me visibly restless. I wonder how many people he has drawn, whether he was used to such a jittery subject. Standing up once more, he stood in front of me. Towering over me despite the height of the table. One of his eyes was dark, as if it wasn’t there, hidden deep behind the mask. Warm hands kneaded my biceps, made me feel caged. Then up, to the back of the neck, the other hand on my shoulder. My hair, pushing fingers into my scalp. I bit my lip. What is he doing?
A scream sounded in the distance. I jolted, although that caused me to lean into Vincent’s grasp, bumped my knees against his hips. More screams, different ones.
“Johanna!” I gasped, then pressed my hand over my mouth. With a last look to me, Vincent stepped away. I pushed myself off of the bench, looking towards the hallway behind me. How long was that corridor? Overcome by panic, I ran. A hard hit to the head ended that quickly.

💫Sweet Dreams of my Twst OCs Part 1💫
“You will become the protagonists of your own fairy tales…”
Hello everyone!
So…how about that most recent update in EN?! With everyone on the Isle of Sages currently in a deep slumber, I thought it’d be fun to explore just what my ocs are dreaming of. So I’ll be devoting the next few days of posts to just that! Starting with my Heartslabyul and Scarabia ocs. Fair warning, some of these ARE sad! 😭
What is your oc’s ideal dream world?
~~~
Tumblr media
Post book 6, Crisanta has only one major trouble, that soon her younger stepsister will soon be entering NRC for her freshman year. The largest source of anguish for Crisanta has always been her stepfamily and how her father essentially abandoned her, her mother and sister to have a family with another woman. And since her stepmother is a powerful mage, Crisanta’s main reason for studying magic is so that one day she can surpass her in skill.
Her perfect dream world is rather simple. She and her sister are spending their spring break making a court ordered visit to their father and stepfamily, much to their chagrin. While having dinner, her stepsister announces that she will not be attending NRC after all but will instead be going to RSA. Crisanta is already relieved by this but when her stepmother makes a snide comment about NRC being a school for delinquents, Crisanta retorts that her magical skills have more than doubled since attending NRC. Her stepsister demands that she proves it and they have a magical duel that Crisanta wins. Her sister is thrilled but both her stepsister and stepmother are very embarrassed by this, not realizing just how much Crisanta has improved. Later, Crisanta calls up Ione and they arrange to hang out together, having fun outside the confides of school, which is always a dream come true for both girls.
Ione, Sinclair, Taima and Iman under the cut!
Tumblr media
Ione’s dream begins back at the start of the school year, as she’s preparing for the black carriage to pick her up from home and take her to NRC. In real life, no one was home when she left and when she called her father to tell him she was leaving, he snapped at her because he was busy at work and coludn’t be bothered. This harshness greatly affected how she was feeling when she arrived at NRC and she admittedly gave the cold shoulder to most of those who reached out to her, including Crisanta. Riddle took an immediate liking to Ione though.
In her perfect dream world, her mother is still alive and she and her eldest sister help Ione get ready to leave for NRC. Yolanda helps her daughter with her ceremonial robes makeup and reiterates over and over how proud she is of Ione for being accepted into such a prestigious arcane academy. Yolanda and Estelle give Ione one last hug and the black carriage takes her away. During the orientation, Riddle still takes a liking to Ione but she and Crisanta also hit it off right away. Ione also makes friends with Deuce and needless to say, Ace doesn’t exist in her dream world.
In Sinclair’s perfect dream world, his overblot never happened and he’s still dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He’s successfully begun his fourth year at NRC and is taking off from his senior internship to welcome the new freshmen into his dorm. Riddle is still around but in Sinclair’s perfect dream world, he’s far less pedantic and sharp-tonged. Instead having a personality far more like how he is post-overblot.
And surprisingly enough, Sinclair and Riddle get along reasonably well. The truth is Sinclair does respect Riddle’s magical skill and meticulous nature, albeit secretly. And if the younger hand’t ousted him and “got in the way” of Sinclair’s friendship with Trey, it’s likely they might have even become friends themselves. At the end of the Heartslabyul welcome party, Sinclair and Trey discuss dorm matters as Trey has taken the reins by acting as dorm leader in Sinclair’s absence. Sinclair decides that since he’ll soon be graduating, it’s time to make Trey’s new position official. Trey becomes Heartslabyul’s new dorm leader and Sinclair suggests that he might want to make Riddle his vice. Also in Sinclair’s dream world, he is still on good terms with Sidonie, but has no interest in seducing her.
For the most part, Taima’s life is already perfect to her. She gets along well with her family, has good friends and enjoys being a Scarabia student. And the things that she’d prefer be different in her world are not very dire. So in Taima’s perfect dream world, the only major difference is that her siblings and Minette all attend NRC with her rather than going to RSA. Lilianne is in Pomefiore with Danica, Mateo is in Savannaclaw and Minette is in Heartslabyul.
Taima’s dream also takes place during the interdorm spelldrive tournament and instead of Scarabia losing, they come in third place. The reason they do so well is because they don’t have the bad luck of going up against Diasomnia right off the bat and Taima still plays very well. She even plays against her brother and leads Scarabia to victory against Savannaclaw, much to Leona’s chagrin. Scarabia still loses out to Diasomnia but she’s in much better spirits about it and a certain Diasomnia cabbage head even commends her. Much to her secret delight.
Post book 6, Iman has begun to wise up to certain realities of the world and currently, her biggest worry is what will become of her in her third year. For the longest time, her family has been dropping hints that she should take a more personal interest in Kalim. And Kalim’s father, keen to increase his political influence, really wants his son to marry into the royal family. While Iman has never really had an interest in Kalim as anything beyond friendship, lately, she has begun to see it as a reality but not for the best reasons. She doesn’t love Kalim, but she wishes to have influence in the Asim family, enough influence to convince Kalim to set Jamil and his family free.
But in her ideal dream world, none of this is a concern. The Vipers aren’t servants and Jamil is Scarabia’s dorm leader. Iman is at his side as his vice. Though Kalim is a regular student, the three are on far better terms and  even friends. Jamil is also more receptive of the idea of being Iman’s friend, and maybe even more in time. And needless to say, with Jamil leading Scarabia and given the recognition he deserves, the events of Book 4 never happen.
A Special Secret Chapter 5
----
"Are you sure this is a good morning activity?" Ace asked, looking at the beach. He watched the water go up and back.
"Scared, Crabby?" Floyd laughs, walking towards the beach. "This is how I spend my early morning. And you did ask me, so here we are!"
Ace gulps and looks over at the ocean.
"No...um..."
"Nope!!" Floyd picked up Ace over his shoulder. "Ready?"
With no answer, Floyd immediately rushed into the ocean, laughing.
Ace watches how Floyd began to swim around, swimming deep into the ocean. He looks around and sees all types of fish, from clownfish to huge manta rays. He was just in astonishment as he swam around.
"No wonder merpeople like the ocean more," he thought, "I can see it as a peaceful horizon. Or maybe a place of solitude."
Ace continues to follow Floyd around and arises to a pool, covered in rocks.
"A moon pool?" He looks around and watches Floyd rest against the sides with a smile.
"Sure is! It's one of the nearest ones here and home to a very old pod. But I haven't seen them in years."
"What's the thing about them?"
"If I can remember from merpeople school, the moon pools are sacred. It protects the mermaids from the outside when they have the chance. They can even use water to their advantage, like destroying a meteor..."
"Wow..."
"You should ask Azul or Jade if you need some more information." Floyd smiles. "But think is this as a safe place for you and the fishes!"
He dives down.
In his view, he saw a fin, not any he recognized swimming away, as Floyd got closer.
"Another merperson? Around here?" He mumbled.
-----
"And that's what he saw," Ace said, sitting down at his seat. "Nothing else."
"That must've been a big fish or another merperson," Deuce concluded, "but I don't know they are mers at these parts, other than us I suppose."
"It's not a bad thing," Yaz stated. "It must've been exciting to swim around this fish without care."
"I know. It's always so beautiful."
"Hey, guys." Jack greeted, sitting down.
"Hey, Jack. Sorry about scaring you yesterday," Deuce apologized. "We didn't plan for it to happen the way he did."
"It's alright,"
"No it's not.." muttered Epel, clearly upset.
"Epel," sighed Yaz. "How long are you going to be upset at us?"
"Just for a while. One for scaring us yesterday and for not trusting us to tell about your secret."
"You didn't want to tell us either," Ace reminded.
"It's called planning."
"Don't worry, I made something that'll earn your forgiveness." Yaz smiles.
"Can't wait to see what that's going to be."
Professor Trein walked inside, holding Lucius.
"Welcome students," welcomed Professor Trein," before we even begin, it's nice to know that we have a new student here today."
"A new student?" Ace wonders, among all the whispering around him.
"Yes, we do. May you be nice and let him introduce himself."
A small hand rises and a young boy smiles. "Hello," he greets," My name is Ortho Shroud, and I'm a new student here at Night Raven College. I do hope that I learn among my upperclassmen."
"Thank you for joining us, Ortho." Trein smiles and Lucius meows as he goes over to Ortho.
----
"So, Ortho," Ace said. "How's your experience here so far?" He looks to where Ortho is.
"Good. It was great hearing history lessons that I never heard of." He smiles.
"I'm glad," Deuce said. "Night Raven College is one huge school to even get into."
"I got in because I was called a child prodigy."
"Oh, sweet dude!" Jack said, "The teachers are going to adore you."
Ortho smiles. "Thank you. My big brother and I like it here. It's a good school."
"Wait, your last name Shroud? Then are you related to Idia Shroud?" Ace asked
"Yep! That's my big brother."
"Man, no one knows much about him, some make rumors whenever he's even around." Ace explains.
"Like?" Ortho asked, his voice dropping to a menacing tone.
"J-just a lot of stuff." Deuce stammered.
"Hmm, I see, but if someone does makes fun of my brother they're going to regret it..."
"Yeah, I don't want to know." Jack sighs. "How about you join us for lunch?"
"That's awesome! Thank you!" Ortho cheered.
The sounds of machines caught their attention as Ortho came down, in his high-tech wheelchair.
"Can we have a nice stroll in the hall?" He asked, smiling, "I want to get to know all of you individually."
"Of course," Yaz said, "By the way, I love your wheelchair."
"Thanks, my big brother made it for me. Isn't he an incredible inventor?"
Yaz smiles, "Seeing this, definitely."
"When's your next class?" Ace asked. "Maybe we can help you look for it along the way."
"I appreciate it, but Idia is helping me right now."
"Right now?"
"What about it?"
Ace jumped as Ortho's tablet beeped, and an icon was on the center.
"Is he video calling you?" Yaz asked in astonishment.
"I don't like going out by I have created a digital copy of the school so I can help Ortho around." He boasted. His voice was suddenly quiet. "Though...I do appreciate you inviting him to lunch."
"No problem, he's a student and a friend now." Ace laughs. "And he can ask us anything if you can't."
"H-Hey!? What does that mean!?"
-----
"Mwah-!? Hey! You said I was allowed to eat this today!" Grim protested as Yaz picks him up away from the apple pie being made.
"I made this as an apology for Epel, Grim, so we'll eat when he comes over." Yaz puts him down. "I worked hard on this with the apples he gives me."
Grim pouted.
"Man, that pie smells amazing!" Ace sighs.
"Whose it for?" Deuce asked.
"Epel, after what happened yesterday, I made an apology pie for him. I had help though."
"Did you ask Trey? He's an expert." Noted Ace.
"No, I didn't want to bother him at 3 am."
"3 am!?" Gasped Sebek. "Did you get any sleep?"
"Only 3 hours...but I'll be fine."
"Human! This is unhealthy! No matter why you should go to bed at a normal time."
"I know, Sebek, but this was important. I never saw Epel this mad at me before."
"I mean, we did disappear under their noses for a few hours." Ace chuckles. "I would've been mad too. Worried and mad."
"I knew I smelled apple pie," Jack answers by the hallway door.
Epel huffs a little and saw it. "Is this your way of apologizing?"
"You caught me." Yaz smiles.
Epel lets out a small smile. "You are forgiven."
"I see Ortho. Hey!" Ace called out. "Hey, Ortho! Over here!"
Ortho alerted by the call, looks over and waves as he rides over.
"Oh wow! This pie looks great!"
"Thanks, now, let's eat!"
Epel was doing his usual complaining about Pomefiore, but it was a normal occurrence so most listen and eat their lunch.
"Wow, I never really thought this is how to spend my experience at this school." Ortho mumbles.
"Oh, Ortho." Ace starts. "Many of us have flaws. These flaws are what makes us human and honestly funny."
"Oh, I know that, but it's just something I'm not used to. Being at a school I mean. I've been homeschooled by teachers my parents hired, so being with so many unfamiliar faces than my brother...it's making me nervous a bit."
"Hey, take it from someone who has been through it all. You may stand out at first, and that's completely normal. But, take a week and see how that changes. Like you and me, we have friends now."
"You guys consider me as a friend? We did just recently meet."
"Of course!" Epel said. "And you're cool."
Ortho blushes and giggles. "Thank you!"
---
"Alright, Pups! Remember these instructions," Crewel ordered as he lists the instructions down.
Ace groans as he begins to write everything down. "This will be impossible, and a bad idea."
"That's because you can barely remember the order most times." Yaz chuckles, taking the ingredients.
"Oh shut up." Ace pouted.
"I'm joking, Ace."
"No, you weren't."
"Of course, I wasn't."
Yaz looks around before lifting and morphing a water bubble over the cauldron.
Ace gasped and looks around to see if anyone noticed.
"What are you -!?" He gasped. "Someone will notice..!"
"Unless you want to fail this class, I suggest you shut up and practice the order."
Ace has a look of content as he begins to do so, with some trial and error. But he kept practicing as Yaz kept the bubble up.
"Yes! I got it, and no explosions."
"Woah! That's so cool!" Called Ortho, in his science wear, causing them to jump in place.
"How long as has he been there?" Yaz gasped.
"I don't know!"
Ortho giggles. "It's ok, I won't tell anyone about it. I think it's an interesting and safe way to experiment." He smiles.
"Thanks...?"
"Can I help?"
Ortho lifted his hands as the water began to solidify.
Ace and Yaz went dead silent as Ortho smiled and continue speaking.
"It's...." Yaz says, yet do to shock by what he just heard.
"A jelly-like texture,"  Othro stated, "that means you two are getting close to the final stage."
After a short while, it became a liquid again.
"How?" Ace asked. "How does that work unless you...you are?" He examined Ortho, circling him.
"Is it a problem?" Ortho's eyes became mischievous along with his smirk.
"You're being incredibly cheeky about it," Yaz mutters as he carefully lowers the water back into the cauldron.
"Sorry, but I never met anyone like me before! It's exciting!" He laughs. "How about we meet at the school pool late at night? Is that ok?"
"Just us?"
"Oh, I suppose if you know more, I'll happily meet them."
"That's good."
Once they left, they met up with Deuce.
"So, Deuce," Ace started."Ortho invited us to go somewhere to talk for a bit..."
-----
"You decide to use your powers in class?" Deuce groaned."Why? Why would you do that?"
"Well, it was for a practice but Ortho caught us.." Ace mumbles."At least it got me a A- on it."
"But you were caught, what if he tells?" Deuce asked, clearly panicking.
"If it makes you feel better, he seems to be one too," Yaz said,"and he's willing to talk to us later at the school pool. If you want to go."
Deuce sighs softly. "Fine, I'll go. However, I'll keep an eye out on if this is a trick. Cause I don't know if I could trust him, I mean....I trust Ortho but not his intentions."
"Well, to be expected." Ace shrugs. "But it may be just the two of you for now, I have a basketball game tonight."
"You have a game?"
"Yeah! So I'll be at the gym if you need me!" Ace walks away.
They watched Ace ran to the gym. Deuce couldn't help but wonder about the possibilities about tonight. He hates the thought of being caught and experimented. It scares him beyond end.
"I'm scared about tonight," Deuce looks over to Yaz,"If it is what Ortho says, he might have some knowledge we don't know about."
"We'll see."
