Understanding I was a lesbian helped me a lot after a rough, misleading patch of my life. Finding myself in this aspect was a gateway to finding myself in other aspects- to allowing myself to know me as a something else than people's expectations of me, and to do introspection. Which I never really felt I was allowed to do. It was liberating in a way that let me know myself much better later, that let me think about myself as a separate entity, and by god I thank it so much. I'm way happier since I came out. I'm lucky to have (half an) accepting and loving family, a whole circle of queer friends and acquaintances to learn from, and a partner I'm madly in love with that helps me understand myself more every day. I came such a long way, and I keep working at it, and it's fucking cool. Whatever stage in the self-discovery journey you're at, I hope it goes really well for you, and that you come out stronger on the other side. Thanks for reading! <3
