The interface of twee.net! A website created in 1994 to make an archive of information about the then thriving indiepop/"twee" music scenes around the world accessible. It has everything from biographies of important bands and labels to newsletters from the past so you can get a little glimpse into what it was once like to live as a pophead.
It still has the same appearance it has had since it was started making it a bit of a time capsule but it is still very useable and full of valuable information.
I'm currently a moderator on there who specializes in checking up on labels and adding new releases/completing discographies. I also like documenting newer bands who have formed recently to not have everything too stuck in the past. There are plenty of great discoveries I have made.
I wonder if anyone remembers a site from a while ago, which was fully written and designed by one guy. It was full of weird toy reviews, Halloween decoration reviews, cartoon and movie reviews, and blogs of vacations the guy would go on, mostly cruise ships and Disney trips. He had a very funny and analytic writing style and would often write lists of 100 things about a topic.
I remember he wrote an article about a huge number of things he experienced during his stay at the Polynesian, which was split into several parts and included an incident where he drank 3 whole hollowed out pineapple cocktails and watched a lightshow from the beach. Another time he got mad at a noisy kid in the Sci Fi Dine In and said 'fuck' on purpose and the kid 'spent the rest of the meal silently wondering if he was an evil cartoon lion called Scar'
I can't remember the site's name and I can't find if it is still up - anybody?
This is JMKit! When I was very young I loved playing here, especially the scene making games. Only issue is that, in those times, I found nobody who also knew about the page, so here I am, sharing it for all of you so you can either discover a new website or have it come back at you!
It has point and click games, scene making, dress up and some more. I hope you like it ^_^
one of my favorite little hobbies is trying to find ancient websites, I love searching the bowels of Google and finding a site that has been online longer then I've been alive
lil tip from ya boy, if you put this into ya search "before:1999-01-01" you should only get sites from before 1999.
sometimes though you get sites that just mention a date before 1999 or even entirely unrelated results, chock that up to Google being unreliable and bad, if anyone knows another engine that can easily search by date published let me know
of course you can change out 1999 for any other year depending on what you want.

It is self-evidently wonderful with the low pixel illustrations and bright colors. The site also contains coloring pages, games and puzzles. It is rapidly becoming one of my favorite websites to explore. It has other sections such as for the solar system, geology etc. which I will make posts about later.
