Game Night - A UTMV Fanzine

Game Night is an Undertale zine all about games and bringing people together, with the goal of raising money for a good cause! It’s all about your favorite characters dressing as characters from your favorite games, playing games, or being in games themselves! We are looking for artists and writers for this zine.

FAQ

Is there an age requirement for contributors?

Yes, you must be 18 years of age or older when sending your application.

What AUs are we allowed to use?

We are mainly looking for mainstream ones and characters people would recognize. Aftertale, Underswap, Underfell, Dreamtale, Xtale, Fresh, Ink, Error, Paperjam, Template and Pale, you get the idea. Variants, fan kids, and fusions may be used but are not the preferred focus. OCs and sonas may also be slipped in but must not be the main focal point.

What kind of games am I allowed to pick?

Any! Preferably board games, video games, or something of that nature though. Game night is supposed to be something you can have in a comfortable place like home.

Are ships allowed for this zine?

Artists are allowed to imply a ship if they choose to, but we do not explicitly want pieces to be about a certain ship as that is not what this zine is about. More information can be requested from artists as needed.

Where is my money going?

The money earned from this zine will all go towards Child’s Play Charity. The only money taken will be to recover the production costs of the physical copies and merch should merch happen. You can read more about Child’s Play and their goals here.

Can artists/writers sell their work after the project is over?

Contributors may use their work however they wish once the project has ended. They retain all rights to their artwork and writing and may do with it what they please.

Will there be any additional merch and/or goodies?

To be determined once the main zine contributions are finished.

What do contributors get?

All contributors will receive a free digital copy of the zine and the opportunity to buy a physical copy of the zine at production cost.

What is the age rating of the zine?

The zine may feature mature content and themes but will not include any explicit sexual content.

Over the summer I had the opportunity to work on @quadropheniazine ‘s project revolving around Quadrophenia by The Who, and it inspired me to take on another zine project!

I’m super excited to announce that my friend Kimberley and I are starting a zine dedicated to the album Electra Heart by Marina and the Diamonds, and we are looking for fans who would like to participate!

Here you can find the application if you wish to join. We would like to have applications submitted by January 26th, so that we can send out invitations by February 1st.

Basic information:

♡ Although we would like to have an idea of what kind of projects will be submitted, please don’t feel like you have to be married to one idea from the beginning.

♡ We will be making a Discord server for this project, but if you do not have Discord and you want to submit work, please reach out to us and we will make sure you can still participate!

♡ We will be accepting work made specifically for this project, as well as old work you have made in the past, as long as your work fits the theme.

♡ The end product will be published as a pdf for free.

Themes:

♡ The zine will be centered around the 19 songs on Electra Heart Platinum Blonde Edition.

♡ Our priority is to have 18 other artists on board, with one person assigned to each song, and one person assigned to make a cover.

♡ Although it is not mandatory, you are allowed to submit multiple works if you choose to, as long as they stick to the album and its themes.

♡ We will allow works that explore other aspects of the Electra Heart era, such as demo songs and the archetypes, especially if more people sign up than anticipated.

♡ As long as it’s accessible via pdf, then any form of media is allowed! This includes images, videos, and writing.

Our idea is to publish the zine on April 27th, the album’s anniversary. Here is the rough timeline we would like to work with:

7th January - announcement/applications open

26th January - applications close

1st February - emails/Discord invitations go out

1st March - check-in 1 (emails out to people without discord)

1st April - check-in 2 (emails out to people without discord)

20th April - pieces due

Hello thanks so much for taking a moment to read this! For a while I have had the idea of hosting a zine revolving around Quadrophenia and am finally able to start making it happen!

This zine will be centered around the 1973 rock opera written and recorded by The Who. It will be distributed for free online only and thus will be a not for profit project. Each artist will be required to create a piece depicting or representing a given song on the album in any media and style which is open to non-objective interpretations. As there are 17 songs on the album, only 17 artists will be a part of the project with the possibility of an additional cover artist if the interest is there. Although some themes of the album are adult in nature, please note that pieces should not depict any possibly triggering scenes graphically; think a tame 16+ rating.

Rough Timeline: Applications close - June 30th Emails sent out - July 3rd Check-In 1 - July 17th Check-In 2 - August 10th Pieces due - September 6th
