Tag Team AU Synopsis – Pre-Canon Events
Synopsis Masterpost Link
Next [Covention]
Alright! Let's get started. This is the beginning of a Very Boring Blow-By-Blow Explanation of the whole Tag Team AU.
Luz falls into the water of the Old Gravesfield cemetery at age 7. Her dad had just died a few days prior – noteworthy because she has not read the first Azura book yet. The water is infused with Titan’s blood, and she is shunted to the demon realm.
Luz finds herself in the woods near the Emperor’s castle during a storm, and she quickly finds out this place is out to get her. She learns to run first and ask questions later, at least until a 9 year-old Hunter discovers her on a mission. The basilisks broke out during the storm, so the coven has all hands on deck hunting them down.
Luz and Hunter quickly become friends, once Luz realizes he’s not going to eat her skin. Hunter sneaks her food during the next few days until actual coven scouts find her hiding out. They bring her back to the castle, thinking she’s a basilisk in disguise, and she is brought before Emperor Belos. Hunter sees her brought in, and quickly comes to her defense saying that she’s harmless.
Belos, confronted with a human for the first time in centuries, immediately locks onto how quickly Hunter comes to her aid. Seeing an opportunity to maybe have a successful grimwalker clone of Caleb this time around, he takes Luz in and gives Hunter full responsibility for her, just as Caleb did for Philip. He lies and says he will look for a way to get Luz back home, but until then she has to keep the fact that she is human a secret – who knows what witches will do to her if they find out what she is.
Hunter does not take this well, and his and Luz’s relationship sours quickly as they’re forced to stay together.
Tumblr media
It isn’t until Belos tells Luz around the one-year mark that it may be impossible for Luz to get back home, that Hunter and Luz start actually getting along – Hunter realizes how terrible he has been to her, and Luz starts putting down roots. It’s also around this time that Eberwolf meets Luz and gifts her Backup, the gildersnake. (He probably would have been named stringbean if I had written this part post season 3.)
Meanwhile, Vee successfully escapes the Emperor’s Coven on the day Luz arrives and eventually makes her way to Eda the Owl Lady, who takes her in. Eda worries about Vee being in danger in the Boiling Isles, especially with Eda’s not-very-low profile, and she doesn’t get a solution until one of her ventures into the human realm, where she is suddenly held at bat-point by Camila.
Camila is heartbroken, having lost her husband and her daughter in the span of a week, and she still believes that Luz is still out there. Especially when she sees a strange woman appear in town doing strange things, and disappearing into a houseless door. After tracking her down to the old abandoned shack, she jumps Eda and demands/pleads for help finding her daughter in the witch’s world. Eda agrees to look for Luz, and asks for help with her Vee situation in return. They make a deal: Camila takes Vee in, and Eda comes by every week or so with updates on if she has found Luz + Vee’s magic food.
Back to the siblings: Luz has been raised as a scout alongside Hunter. She rediscovers Azura at age 10 (Hunter age 12), and organizes a small book club with other coven scouts. Through many shenanigans, it turns into a blown out shipping war that splits the coven apart for 3 months. It only ends when Belos publicly chastises Luz, restricts her creative work, and bans Azura from the castle.
(Link to the Azura Incident fanfic can be found here.)
Hunter, realizing the power and creativity that Luz has from this incident, confronts her. He’s been trying to think of a way to use wild magic to heal Belos, and he wants her help. She accepts immediately, because if there’s a way to save a father figure in her life she’s going to try her hardest. She eventually learns her first glyph with Hunter: Light.
Over the course of the next few years, Luz and Hunter find the rest of the elemental glyphs, they are officially made into the Golden Guards, and they start experimenting with glyph combos. There’s the Iced-Over Conformatorium Incident, where they create the Super Glyph (the one Eda made in Escaping Expulsion) and have to deconstruct it under pressure while it takes over the Conformatorium, and the Smoke-Bomb Incident, where they try to combine different magic items with the smoke combo glyph to see if Belos could inhale their magic essence that way. They don’t get caught either time, but Lilith strongly suspects it’s them.
Hunter also gets his magic staff when he becomes a Golden Guard, although Luz is told she isn’t old enough to wield one yet. This holds up until she turns 14 – the same age Hunter was when he got his staff – and she is still told that she can’t have one.
This is where the comic starts. You guys know this to a degree already. Luz and Hunter make a deal with Eda to learn wild magic. Hunter takes Luz’s place in canon, etc etc. Everything up until the end of Teenage Abomination was written in comic form which is WAY COOLER THAN THIS. IF YOU DONT KNOW WHATS GOING ON READ THE COMIC RIGHT NOW. HERE'S THE FIRST PART.

Another Dumb Idea of Mine
I just finished watching every episode of Gravity Falls with my brother and I thought of another crossover idea.
For now, I'm gonna call it "The Next Summer Together."
The premise is that it's the summer after the events of Gravity Falls and Mabel and Dipper are back. But the town has attracted all sorts of other weirdos looking to spend their summer in Gravity Falls.
Gravity Falls but with all the other Disney Television Animation characters. Or at least, the ones that I like/remember. Like...
The Owl House: Camila decides to take the kids out for a nice, safe, normal vacation since they've all been so hard at work trying to rebuild The Boiling Isles. But when they get there, they discover that King and Eda have stowed away. (Cast: Luz, Eda, King, Camila, Willow, Gus, Vee, Hunter, and Amity.)
Star vs the Forces of Evil: (slight AU) After erasing the magic of the Butterfly Family and choosing to stay on Earth with Marco, the Diaz Family goes on vacation to Oregon. But even without magic, Star still manages to cause/find trouble. (Cast: Star, Marco, Angie and Rafael Diaz.)
Amphibia: After the events of Amphibia, Anna, Sasha and Marcy go on a camping trip together. But all roads lead to Gravity Falls. (Cast: Sasha, Anne, Marcy, Mr and Mrs. Boonchuy.)
The Ghost and Molly McGee: After winning a contest, the McGees go on vacation for the summer. Scratch seems to be drawn to something in the town, but doesn't know what. (Cast: Mr and Mrs McGee, Molly, Scratch, Libby, and Darryl.)
And I thought of a few episode ideas like:
Luz has to prevent Dipper from catching King and trying to stream him online.
Mabel starts crushing on Marco. Dipper tries to tell her that Marco already has a girlfriend, but Mabel won't listen.
Dipper, Marco, Hunter, Gus, and Luz play a game of Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons.
Grunkle Stan and Eda have an awkward reunion, and Mabel thinks she can hook them up back together.
Star and Marco go on a double date with Luz and Amity, but it turns into a competition to be the cutest couple in Gravity Falls.
In an attempt to make more money, Gus teams up with Grunkle Stan to have illusions be an attraction at the Mystery Shack.
Luz asks Dipper to help make sure that her mom's nature hike is as normal as possible.

Does some version of Gravity Falls take place in the same world as this AU? (Since all three shows having the same Earth is a common theory).
If so, has any of the Owl House/Amphibia characters been to Gravity Falls, Oregon?
If so, how was it?
since Cali is closer to Oregon then Connecticut, the Trio likely have gone there then Luz. It would've been a drive-thru town on the way to a con or something but considering that the Pines family, Marcy would've had them stop at the shack so she can investigate the cryptids that are in the area/shop (according to Dipper's book/podcast/youtube channel). Anne and Sasha would enjoy the weird stuff in the giftshop and Sasha would treat her girls to whatever overpriced thing they wanted.
Molly McGee would def have gone through that town while her family moved around and she'd find the exhibits weird but enjoy them. Daryl taking notes on all the scams for later use.

I cant believe Owl House is ending in two days ;-; I’m excited and sad and all sorts of things. Sad becuase its ending and its such a great show, BUT at the same time excited because, I want to see how the story ends! Dont we all with a story? Hopefully it has a happy ending. I mean theyve done very well despite being cancelled, theyve made the most of the time they had rather than gave up? I respect that, same with Infinity Train. They did the best they could in time they had, rather than “Ah slap any old thing together who cares.” I found Cage of eden and the Unfortunate events books dissapionting this way.
I always hoped I would finish this, but yknow how it goes sometimes. THIS is a Owl House “Little Mermaid Au”.
Luz is a mermaid princess, but, despite her royalty, people still mock her and see her as a piece that doesent fit. Other kids openly tease and call her “Luzer”, and even the advisors and royal court dont approve of her, she doesnet behave much less how a PRINCESS should.
King is her “Flounder” :) Her best friend and eager helper in her adventures and curiosties. But Queen Camilla grows worried over how Luz behaves and, decides to send her away to perhaps a sort of boarding school to teach her to be, better? Much like sending her to camp in the cartoon, or even Luca’s parents sending him to another part of the sea?(That part made me think of a young boy being sent to a monastary).
Meaning well but, nevertheless hurting her daughter... If, nobody wants her, not even her Mother, then, Luz feels maybe she should just dissapear? Run away?
The night she runs away she runs into Eda, the sea witch. Sea witches arent evil in this world, but people do assume so or look there nose down at them? There happy to go to them for spells and stuff but see them as lesser beings, second class citizens.
If the kid wants to run away, she ought to try the human world! Thats the place, the most fun, so much to explore. Eda still goes there, collectign objects, mingling amongst the humans... So, she takes Luz in, she has a shack on the land. She can switch her and Kings tails for legs easy!
Much like King Triton Camilla is fretful when Luz goes missing, blaming herself for her daughter running away.
Other characters to make an appearence will of course be Willow and Gus, and in there case, instead of admiring humans, its mermaids? Its so exciting to meet one!
Amity is a princess in this version, and very unhappy one at that. Under a lot of pressure from her mother, not able to be herself, more a pretty little wind up doll that is meant to do what shes told... But starts to break away from that, when meeting Luz. They start to fall in love, happiness. I think Hunter would be Amity’s guard? Luz is also in a spot of danger. MERMAIDS are held in high regard, as trophys. Possessing such a creature like a fish in a tank in your home is a great status symbol. If Odalia had any idea Luz was a mermaid she’d lock her up in there palace. Amity is naturally worried for her girlfriends safety.
THATS about all I have for this AU :) But I hope you like whats there. LETS HOPE THE ENDING OF OWL HOUSE IS AWESOME!

Writing jam idea: After Nie-zongzhu's saber is sabotaged and he dies, WRH claims that he and Nie-zongzhu agreed that NHS would be engaged to one of his sons as a mark of their friendship. Brand new sect leader NMJ is having none of it. He knows WRH wants leverage over the newly destabilized Nie, but it's his word against the Wen, the Nie elders want to give in to avoid trouble, and other sects are ambivalent about the fate of some spare heir. So he's scrambling to keep NHS from being a hostage.
Hilariously enough, I actually had a similar idea from awhile back, where Nie Mingjue couldn't stop the betrothal despite his best efforts, so Huaisang winds up in the deeply unenviable position of being engaged to Wen Chao (taking the place of the wife in the novel).
Here are my notes, copied from my ideas doc:
Nie Huaisang would be so much fun in a badly-matched arranged marriage AU. Maybe it was set up before Papa Nie died, the sect elders having decided that he might as well be used for political stability since he won't be useful for anything else. (Maybe it was a forgery, but they don't care enough to prove it.)
His would-be spouse Wen Chao clearly agrees, disdainful of him at every turn.
Huaisang and Nie Mingjue both hate this, but the agreement was written in such a way that their hands are effectively tied even after Nie Mingjue becomes sect leader.
Nie Huaisang trying to reason that it's fine. It's fine! Who cares about love, as long as he's left alone and can just stay in his little corner and do what he wants, he'll cope.
And then the first day in his new home, the few birds he'd been allowed to bring with him are all taken away and sold and Wen Chao openly shacks up with a new girlfriend.
Oh.
It's going to be like that, is it?
The wedding takes place just before the archery tournament, because Wen Ruohan wants to show off that he's supposedly brought the Nie to heel.
When the indoctrination camp is being set up, Wang Lingjiao, seeing an opportunity to make trouble, suggests to Wen Chao that they don't need to demand a delegation from Qinghe, they already have Nie-gongzi under their roof. Prick that he is, Wen Chao eagerly goes along with the idea.
The camp is even more miserable for Nie Huaisang than it is for the rest, because those two jump on every little opening they can get to humiliate him. He says nothing and makes no trouble, but the other young masters can practically see the cloud of hateful resentment building around him and are just waiting for it to explode.
One day after Wei Wuxian wakes up from the Xuanwu incident, an owl carrying a bamboo tube arrives in Lotus Pier and makes a beeline for him and Jiang Cheng. Inside the tube are extensive maps and notes that definitively prove the Wens are aiming for Lotus Pier next and how to intercept them. They recognize the code as one of Nie Huaisang’s, but not the handwriting.
There is one note that seems to be solely his, though.
"Wen Chao wants an excuse to make it look like you brought this on yourselves, but the attack is going to happen whether he gets one or not. How you handle that is up to you."

We need more swap AUs with Willow as the human so I made one myself. Everyone stays the same but Willow and Luz switch places. The first episode is under the cut — it’s pretty long. I’ll probably be doing comics and and other random eps later!
Willow Park sat in the principal’s office, crossing her arms. Principal Hal briefly addresses her parents. She blew some dyed blue-green hair from her eyes, eyeing her science project wearily. So what if her robot malfunctioned? This wouldn’t have happened if she just got to study botany as she’d wanted.
“Mr. Parks, your daughter’s project went disastrously wrong. Again,” Principal Hal said, bluntly, “Her grades have been slipping lately. I fear that if her grades don’t improve, we’ll have to send her to summer school.”
“That seems awfully drastic,” Papa defended.
“I don’t know, Gil, we do want her to succeed in life,” Dad countered.
“Don’t I get a say in this?” Willow declared.
“This is the first of many incidents, Willow,” Papa said, “I think you should really consider this.”
Before she knew it, Willow was staring outside her house, waiting for the bus to summer school. She fiddled with her small cactus. She took her plants everywhere with her, despite her fathers protests that botany wouldn’t open nearly as many opportunities.
“Don’t worry, Will,” Dad comforted, “You’ll be so busy learning mechanics… and doing math, the time will fly by!”
“But I don’t like any of that stuff!” Willow protested. “I like working on my garden and being outside!”
“This is all so you get better opportunities,” Papa said, “You’ll make so many friends, but you have to try and let this gardening stuff go.”
“Ok…”
Willow threw away her cactus, frowning. Her dads left and she immediately started to dig through the trash for her beloved plant. It was gone. Willow looked up, spotting a small owl holding the little pot in its mouth. Owls weren’t supposed to be out during the day… and they definitely didn’t fish plants out of the trash. She chased it, following it through the old shack near her house through an odd door with an eye on it.
“Get back here you adorable little owl!”
Willow paused when she realized she was in a tent. She fingered a strange blue plant. She’d seen weird plants before, but never like this. She was snapped out of her thoughts by a voice.
“Finally, you’re back.”
Willow peered through the flaps of the tent, seeing a strange, old lady. She had gray hair and gold eyes. Her skin was so pale it was practically white.
“Now, let’s see what we got here.”
The owl flies to the top of her large stick, and the lady spun it around. The owl turned to wood. Willow held back a gasp, readying herself. For what, she was not sure.
The lady took out a phone. “Garbage.” She took out a ring. “Garbage.” She took out some brilliantly shiny chalice. “Garbage.”
She took out some joke glasses with springs. “Now this…” The lady put them on. “This will make me rich!”
Willow gasps quietly as the woman grabbed her plant.
“This… eh, I don’t really have a use for this,” the lady gestured to throw out the plant.
Willow ran in and grabbed it, nervously mumbling an apology before making a break for it. She pulled the flap of the tent aside, running up to the weird door. It proceeds to fold up, disappearing into a small briefcase. Willow turned around, facing her strange pursuer.
“You’re not going anywhere,” she threatened.
Willow held in a shriek and dove under the tent. She skidded to a stop as she found herself at the edge of a cliff. Dragons flew through the air. Giant bugs functioned as buses. Disgustingly fascinating beasts roamed. Willow screamed.
“This… this is a dream, right?” she laughed, nervously. A fairy flew up next to her. “Oh… uh, nice fairy…”
“Give me your skin!” the fairy cried.
Willow yelped and swatted the fairy to the floor, flinching.
“Am I dead? I’m dead, aren’t I? This is the bad place then, I guess,” Willow rambled.
“You wish,” the same woman from before grabs Willow’s shoulder and drags her back to the tent, sitting her down on a stool. Willow clenched her fists, ready to fight back if she had to.
“I’m just here for my plant. Please, don’t eat my skin. And if you try… you’ll uh, regret it!” Willow threatened or at least tried to.
“Eat you? Why would I eat… a potential customer?” Willow tilted her head, confused.
“Can I offer you a human foot filled with holes?” she took out a green croc. “A bar of green human candy? Oh, oh! How about this black shadow box that reflects only sadness?” She grabbed a bar of deodorant, followed by an old-fashioned television.
Willow laughed. “It can do waaaay more than that.”
She looked around the table before finding some batteries. She took the television from the lady and placed the batteries in, turning it on. An old exercise video starts playing. A crowd immediately gathered. People started to bid higher and higher amounts of money for it, asking unusual questions.
“What did you say your name was?” the woman asked.
“...Willow, Willow Park,” Willow told her, hesitantly.
“Well, Willow, that was pretty clever… for a human,” the woman said.
“For a human?”
“Oh, dear child,” she began, removing her bandanna to reveal two pointy ears. “I’m not like you.” She jumped onto the table. “I’m Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles!”
“A witch?” Willow asked.
“I am respected, feared-” she continued before she was cut off by a masked stranger smashing the T.V.
“Busted!” the guard said, as customers started to scatter. “Eda the Owl Lady, you are wanted for misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors.” Willow gasped. “You are hereby ordered to come with me to the Conformatoruium!
Eda freed her arm. “Will you guys quit following me around? I haven’t done squat.”
The guard ignored her. “And you’re coming too,” he grabbed Willow, who yelped, “for fraternizing with a criminal.”
“Hey!” Willow flailed around, uselessly.
“Oh, all right, all right, you win,” Eda conceded. “Just let me get my stuff.”
She rummaged under the table, grabbing the staff from earlier. She swung the staff, hitting the guard. He hit the floor with a thud. Eda spun the staff, making all the contents of her stand float before drifting into a bundle on her staff. Willow shakily got up.
“Whoops, can’t forget this.” Eda pulled a key out of her hair, pressing a button. The door-turned-briefcase vanishes.
“Follow me, human.”
Willow ran after her. “This is crazy! I’m gonna die here!”
“Ha! I won’t let them hurt you,” Eda said, cocky. “A human like you is more valuable to me alive than dead.”
“Are you trying to be suspicious? I can’t believe-” Willow yelled as Eda cheered, pulling them both onto the staff and taking off.
The guard ran in, seconds too late. “You won't get away with this, Owl Lady! Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away with it, everybody! Typical.”
Eda flew through the skies, Willow keeping her eyes screwed shut.
“You can open your eyes now, human.”
Willow gasped when she saw they were flying. “Okay, it’s just a flying staff, some monsters, and a witch. That’s a normal Earth thing.”
Eda laughed. “This is the Boiling Isles. Every myth you humans have is caused by a little of our world leaking into yours.”
Creatures flew by, including a strange lion with the head of a pigeon. Willow vaguely recognized it as a griffin from folklore, although more grotesque. It proceeded to breathe out a stream of living spiders, falling from the sky.
“Eww…” Willow murmured.
“Yep. Griffins, vampires, giraffes-” Eda listed before Willow cut her off.
“Giraffes?”
“Oh yeah, we banished those guys. Bunch of freaks.”
Eda landed the staff and jumped off. Her hand remained. It moved, causing Willow to jump off the staff in shock.
“Oops,” she said, screwing it back on, “That happens sometimes.”
“Well… this has been, uh, interesting,” Willow said. “But I really have to get going. Mind helping me get back home?”
“Only if you help me first,” Eda chuckled. “Ah, now come along, human.”
Willow gasped as a peculiar house came into view. Owls flew around, laughing. She didn’t know owls could do that. The house itself was reasonably tall, with a tower and a large window resembling an eye.
“I won’t have to fight off any guards, will I?” Willow worried.
“Nope. My house has a state-of-the-art defense system.”
A strange… owl… sits on the door, tilting its head. It was round with large eyes.
“Hoot-hoot! Password, please!” it (he?) bellowed.
Eda poked his eyes, making him shout.
“We got no time for this, Hooty. Let us in,” Eda grumbled.
“All right, all right! Geez! You have let me have any fun! Ow! Hoot!” Hooty complained.
Hooty opened his mouth to encompass the door. Willow winced as they walked in, although fascinated.
“Welcome to…” Eda snapped her fingers, “the Owl House!”
The candles lit up and Willow looked around in wonder.
“Where I hide away from the pressures of modern life. Also the cops. Also ex-boyfriends.”
“I really respect that,” Willow said, “So do you live here all alone?”
“Actually,” Eda replied, “I have a roommate.”
A shadow loomed from the hall. “Who dares intrude upon I, the King of Demons?” The creature stepped out to reveal a small, dog-like creature with a skull on his head. He squeaked a rubber duck. Willow scooped him up.
“You’re so cute! Eda, who’s this little cutie?” Willow cooed.
“I’m not cute!” King whined. “Eda, who is this monster?”
Eda pulled Willow away from King. “Oh, this is Willow, the human. She’s here to help us with our little… situation.”
“Oh, hooray!” King cheered.
“Wait. I definitely don’t like the sound of whatever your situation is. I just want to get home,” Willow said.
“Just… let me explain,” Eda sighed. “King was once a mighty king of demons, until his Crown of Power was stolen, and became… this.” Willow cooed at King again. “The crown is being held by the evil Warden Wrath and locked away behind a magical force field only a human can break through. A human like you. If you help us retrieve his crown, we’ll send you back to your realm. So whaddya say?”
“It doesn’t seem like I’m being given a choice here,” Willow grumbled.
“Nope. We got no time to lose,” Eda grabbed Willow’s arm and they walked off.
“Where are we going?”
“Somewhere super fun!”
The group found themselves at an ominous building, lightning crackling around them. A selection of wanted posters covered the wall as the group stared up at the castle-like structure.
“The Conformatorium. A place for those considered unsuitable for society,” Eda deadpanned.
Willow peeled Eda’s wanted poster off the wall. “Woah. These guys really are after you, huh?”
“Yep. But we’re never caught because we’re too slippery,” Eda said with a wink.
“Try to catch me when I’m covered in grease. I’m a squirmy little fella. You and I will sneak up to the top of the tower, where they’re keeping my crown,” King squealed.
“And I’m gonna make sure the Warden’s distracted,” Eda added.
“I didn’t bring a disguise,” Willow said.
“Eh, I don’t think you’ll need one,” Eda reassured her. “Just punch anyone that gives you trouble.”
“You get me, Eda, you get me.”
Eda slammed her staff onto the ground, creating a disk that lifted them up. “Hang on tight. See you guys at the top of the tower!”
The disk floated up to the window, letting Willow and King reach the inside of the tower. The duo moved through the hall, eyes catching the cells.
“Hey, lady, how’d you get out of your cell?” a prisoner asked.
“Oh, um, I’m not a criminal,” Willow replied.
“Neither are we,” the prisoner grumbled. “The stupid warden likes to lock up people who don’t fit in. Like, I write fanfics of food falling in love. I like food, I like love… Just let me write about it!”
“I’m here because I like eating my own eyes,” another prisoner added.
“We are agents of fwee expwession! They will never siwence us!” a small prisoner cried.
“Yeah, she’s really into conspiracy theories,” the first prisoner groaned.
“The world is a simulation! We are but playthings for a higher being!”
“That’s… that’s not right. You guys just… want to be yourselves. Like me,” Willow murmured.
Willow was briefly distracted by some footsteps, running into a cell and pulling the bars in front of her. She covered her mouth as a man, the Warden, she assumed, thundered in. His emotionless mask met the prisoners.
“I can hear you,” he said. “Just what are you fools whispering about?” He picked up Eda’s fallen poster. “Ah, the Owl Lady.” The Warden’s arm warped into a hammer, slamming into Willow’s cell. “I’ll get my hands on her soon enough.”
He briefly glanced into Willow’s cell, where she held King protectively. The small prisoner shouted defiantly, causing the Warden to open to cell and grab her.
“Let this be a lesson to all of you. There’s no place for you in society if you can’t fit in.”
Willow waited as he stomped away, before clambering out of the cell. She approached the other prisoners.
“I can still get you guys out… at least,” she smiled, weakly, opening their cells. “Good luck!”
Willow ran off, reaching Eda. She flew through the halls on her staff. She told Willow the Warden was distracted. Willow grew uneasy at the thought of him torturing the prisoner she failed to rescue. They eventually reached a large door labeled “Contraband.” King eagerly ran up to the door, cheering about power. Eda laughed at his antics.
“Why are they locked up here? They’re just being themselves…” Willow said, more to herself than Eda.
She snapped out of her thoughts to find King attempting and failing to break through a glimmering barrier. Willow took a breath before walking into the pillar, finding piles of confiscated junk. At the top, she saw a glowing crown. She winced. That couldn’t be it… Willow groaned as King eagerly grabbed for the Burger Queen crown.
“That crown doesn’t give him any powers, does it?”
“Uh, no. Oh, look at us Willow. King and I don’t have much in this world, we only have each other. So if that dumb crown is important to him, it’s important to me. Besides, us weirdos have to stick together.”
Willow got caught off guard by the comment. She was used to avoiding her weirdness in an attempt to keep her grades up and keep bullies away. She always kept her head down.
“Well, we owe you one. Let’s get out of here before the Warden finds out and loses his head.”
The Warden stormed in. “Too late.”
With a sharp swing, he cut off Eda’s head. It fell into Willow’s arms, who shrieked in shock.
“Ow. I hate it when that happens.” Willow fought the urge to retch.
“Normally I’d question this but…” Willow groaned, “This really isn’t the weirdest thing to happen today.”
The Warden proceeded to give a speech to Eda, ending with… asking her out? Willow commented on the misogyny of holding someone hostage to ask them out. Wrath grabbed her, yelling to stay out of it. Guess he didn’t appreciate social justice. Willow wriggled to get free as Eda spit in his face. Taking the opportunity, Willow grabbed Eda’s staff and slammed it over the Warden. She grabbed Eda’s head and bolted. Eda’s body freed King and they all climbed onto the staff.
“How does this work exactly?”
“Gun it, magic stick!” Eda commanded.
Wrath gave chase as they flew through the halls. Willow reached out and pulled as many levers as she could freeing the prisoners. Wrath’s tentacle-like arms got closer, and they all fell to the ground outside the Conformatorium. Willow tried to help but they waved her off, telling her to return to the human realm. She found the prisoners from before, but they had no desire to escape.
“Don’t you get it?” Willow asked, “It doesn’t matter if you’re weird, or unconventional, or just do things differently. Sometimes success is being happy, not just doing what you’re supposed to be doing.”
“Why are you helping us?”
“Because us weirdos have to stick together,” Willow cheered, “And no one should be punished for who they are!”
The Warden had Eda and King cornered. Willow and the other prisoners tackled him, Willow using Eda’s staff in an attempt to knock him unconscious. The prisoners tied his tentacle arms together, rendering his attacks useless. Humiliated, he ran, and Willow cheered.
They flew back to the Owl House, where, as promised, Eda got the door ready. King and Eda waved goodbye, and Willow looked at them wistfully. A magical world was right here. Summer school was back home.
“I don’t know,” Willow began. “My dads want me to be happy, but I don’t want to keep learning stupid engineers. I want to study plants and learn how to help them grow. This place is full of magic to do stuff like that here.”
“What exactly are you proposing, kid?” Eda asked.
“I want to stay and become a witch, like you.”
“That’s ridiculous, humans can’t become witches,” Eda smirked.
“There’s a first time for everything.”
King climbed onto Eda’s shoulders. “Let her stay! She can make us snacks.”
“All right. I could use some help keeping this goofball out of the cupboards,” Eda conceded. “I can teach you anything about spells or whatever plant nerd stuff if you work for me.”
“Deal.”
So Willow found herself getting ready for bed in the Owl House. Her sleeping bad uncurled fully as she hit the ground and yawned. Her phone buzzed.
Dad: How’s summer camp?
Papa: Are you having fun?
Willow looked up, to where King had entered the room.
“Your sleep cocoon looks fluffy,” he said, awkwardly. Willow patted it, gesturing him to come to sit. He curled into a little ball next to her. She smiled warmly.
Willow: I think I’m gonna like it here.

Yet Another Owl House AU
Hi. I'm new here and I'm over a year late to this hyperfixation but I'm exceptionally normal about this children's show, so here we go.
Take this cross between a Swap! and a Redemption! AU.
Premise: When Philip follows Caleb into the Demon Realm, things go initially as well as can be expected between two 17th c. Puritan brothers when one of them has been sneaking off and shacking up with a real-life witch for ages. But when the moment of final, fatal conflict should come for the Wittebane brothers, it doesn't.
Much later, Luz the Human finds herself indebted to the Emperor's mysterious, masked servant, the Hunter, as rebellion simmers on the Boiling Isles.
(Preview of WIP fic under the cut)
"I knew it!" said Luz, swiping leaves and protruding twigs out of her hair. She hopped on one foot to pull off her shoe and shake out a rock, then tugged it back on and whirled to face the end of the brand-new clearing. Smoke swirled from the wake-line of charred brush and branches they had cut through the understory as they crashed.
"I knew you weren't really trying! Before, all those times you should have gotten Eda! And me and King! You let us go, didn't you?"
The stooped figure ignored her. As they knelt, the odd shower of burnt leaves fell on their shoulders; the kaleidoscope network of embroidered glyphs that covered their midnight-blue cloak shimmered, and the debris fell away sizzling.
Luz laughed. "I knew I read you right! Scary, mysterious vibe. Competent enough to keep us on our toes, but then something convenient aaaalways happens that just barely lets us evade your clutches. I knew we couldn't be that smart." She snorted. All the markers of a Secret Good Guy. Even Lilith, for all that she said about wanting Eda to join her in the Emperor's Coven willingly, had never been this intentional about letting them slip through her fingers. Luz bet they even had a tragic backstory. She could even just bet on many artfully-composed layers of internal conflict.
She smiled. "And all this time, to think we were afraid of you!"
Their head did not lift, so much as snap like the flint of an old-fashioned pistol. They stood, turned, and stalked like someone with a great deal of experience in The Art of Intimidation thru Forward, Unfriendly Footwork towards Luz. Despite her sense of triumph, she shrank as they let their full height advantage do the work of Looming with Intent.
For a moment, they stood silent, the brassy, horned mask was still.
"How certain," they said, "are you of your safety at this present moment?"
-------
Aaaand that's all for now! Less than a week in this fandom and this AU has completely taken over my brain. We'll call it The Hunter Belos AU for now. More will come as I'm able to clearly outline the most important scenes. Glad to be here, guys!

The Owl House AU where we get the Collector!Luz theory but instead of it being straight up possession its like a symbiotic relationship type deal, something akin to like Eddie and Venom, but uh oh woopsie poopsie they're stuck together even after Belos is defeated
ok time to brainrot, excuse me
*ahem*
*INHALE*
Instead of making a deal to play a made up game like King did, Luz would simply offer the Collector a body to inhabit out of desperation, an offer in which they accept
Since the Collector in Luz' body would have their power significantly nerfed, Belos and Collector!Luz could have like an actual fight and he doesn't just boop Belos out of existence
After Belos is defeated, Collector!Luz (Collectuz? Idk) faints due to the overexertion and their form begins to shift back to Luz' normal self. While the stability of the head is thrown into chaos due to the fight the walls begin to crumble, this leads to the gang taking the only feasible way out: the portal
(Another thing that this AU would change is that King would be among the group that comes to the human realm due to him now not having to stay with the Collector like he does in canon, this comes at the price of Amity having to stay behind to hold the portal together while the skull is collapsing so her friends could make it through safely, angst time)
Vee is at home with Camila, the portal opening sends a surge of magic so strong Vee senses it, (personal headcannon that something like a portal opening would set off something like a spider sense in her) and immediately tells Camila to follow her.
They both arrive at the shack just before the kids come out, with Hunter carrying Luz. Camila grabs Luz and makes her way to the house, since vee is most knowledgeable on witch biology she focuses on the rest of the kids, while Camila patches up Luz
Camila lies her daughter out on the couch to address her wounds, but since she (or at least the Collector in her body) was fighting Belos, her body sustained much more damage than she did in canon, much more cuts and bruises
Luz remains unconscious for the next day or so, constantly monitored by by everyone, with King specifically never leaving her side. Vee fills everyone in on human things, while also filling Camila in on witch things. Inside Luz' mind however Luz gets to talk to the Collector since they now technically share a mind as well as a body, and it's revealed that the Collector doesn't actually know how to leave someone's mind/body, so they're stuck
Their conversation concludes, as Luz finally wakes up gasping, and all of her wounds seal up within minutes, as by sharing a body, some of the Collectors abilities have been given to Luz, even when he's not "in control". This includes an accelerated rate of healing, and more significantly, a bile sac, meaning Luz can do magic now
Cue the angst moment of Luz asking where Amity is, nobody has the heart to tell her but she can fill in the dots. Since there would be no Collector on the isles, the Isles could begin to rebuild, a new government could be formed, memorials are built, and Amity is among the group of the isles top scientists trying to build a portal to the human realm
From here there could be 2 possible ways of going abt this:
A) Luz attempts to explain her situation and that she's now sharing a body with the collector
OR
B) Luz tries to hide it from everyone, to varying levels of success
Hijinks and/or tomfoolery ensue
Some things to note abt this AU that are more just headcannons to make this plot work
1) despite the fact that yes, King is a titan, I don't think his blood could be used as a substitute for Titans Blood, as I like to think the reason why it's such a potent material in canon is because of how old it is, so King being like 8 wouldn't cut it
2) again, Amity is not dead, she's just stuck on the isles helping to make a portal, this also means that everyone else is now aware that they're safe, but just stuck, as opposed to canon where we're to assume everyone thinks that they're dead
3) "but oh God doesn't that mean Amity is now stuck with Odalia again?" Alador and Odalia divorce arc baby, next stop Aladarius, fuck Odaila all my homies hate Odalia
4) I imagine that they'd be stuck in the human realm for about as long as they re in canon, about 11 months, maybe longer with the whole, yk, sharing a body with a chaos god thing
5) Vee for SURE knows somethings up right off the bat, as she can likely smell the immense magic coming from Luz, but decides to keep quiet about it for now
6) While the lack of Lumity will be gutwrenching, this could be a good opportunity to have Luz reconnecting with Camila, maybe some Huntlow, and ofc Aladarius among other things that aren't often explored in AUs/fics
And 7) no goopy parasite Belos, Belos is dead, gone, adios
Thank you for coming to my ted talk, I spent too much time on this and I am brainrotting

FELLOW OWL HOUSE/TMC CROSSOVER FAN? tell me more…
YES YES YES OKOK SO
i feel like a lot of my crossover aus just start with "SO THE BPS AND EVELIN DECIDE TO JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF MANDELA-"
but yeah this one also starts that way. and yes. jonah is alive again. bc i cannot let this boy go im sorry </3. he's dead to YOU. to YOU. to me he's fine he's just hiding.
this leaving is done more in a panic. adam hasn't revealed his secret to anyone, and just kinda gathers everyone together like 'yeah shit is about to get really bad we should really really leave' and everyone's like fuck it ok.
they literally drive until the van breaks down. out of gas.
GUESS WHERE THEY BREAK DOWN!
Gravesfield. It's Gravesfield.
They actually try pushing the van for a bit because. I mean what else are they gonna do? Eventually, they stumble upon the Noceda shack and knock on the door like uh "hey uh. we got. we saw some uh. demons. thats not important also uh. pls help we're stranded-"
and then that's kinda when the first hunter reaction to adam thing happens and thus, Luz is like YEAH WE HAVE ROOM FOR 4 MORE
from there hunter continues to be very sus of adam and eventually tries to pry the truth out of him. which works. and now both of them are like "huh we gotta tell everyone dont we. hmm. yeah."
yeah and then stuff happens i dont really know adfshjkakgsdj but thats the general idea!
