“So I’m the Darkling’s prisoner?”

“You’re under his protection.”

“What’s the difference?”

Ivan’s expression was unreadable. “Pray you never find out.”

“Do you all wear this stuff?” I asked as I pulled on the kefta.

“When we’re in the field,” said an oprichnik.

“Just don’t get shot in the head,” Ivan added with a condescending grin.

Comedy.

I shut my eyes and tried to focus, tried to remember that feeling of certainty, to bring that sure and perfect power into blazing life. But nothing happened.

I sighed and opened my eyes. Ivan looked highly amused.

Ivan: "Girl. It doesn't work this way".

“Back from visiting the invalid?” he asks as I follow him out of the Little Palace.

I know he begrudges me any word or confidence shared with the Darkling. Still, I like him. He treats me with disdain, but it’s the exact same disdain he shows everyone else.

How I imagine Ivan being with everyone (but the Darkling):

At that moment, we heard footsteps and Ivan rounded the corner. He bowed to the Darkling and then to me, but I caught a little smirk playing on his lips.

Ivan asked abruptly. The familiar smirk was gone from his handsome face. “Of course not. They weren’t born Grisha. They were soldiers, and they both died fighting the King’s wars. So did my father. So did my uncle.”

“Yes, everyone is sorry. The King is sorry. The Queen is sorry. I’m sorry. But only the Darkling will do something about it.”

Anon Project Round 2

Some of you may remember back in winter 2017-2018, when I did this thing to spread some love through the anon ask option we've got here on tumblr. Well, I did the same thing again, back in winter 2020-2021, though instead of just one month, I did it for two months. From the 1st of December 2020, until the 31st of January 2021.

Every day, I sent the message "Hi. I love you. 🤍" to one blog each day. I wanted them to know they're loved.

Now, I know tumblr sometimes eats asks, so maybe not everyone that I planned to give love to actually got their messages, and this roundup will therefore serve as a reminder to all of you that yes, I do love you. Even now, 2.5 years later.

It pisses me off that miss rokii has like thousands of likes and followers but real artist get like only 100 likes. Imagine studying art for so long, excited for everyone to see your final products but Instagram won't even let your artworks come up in the tags (because Instagram just doesn't care about artists) and then you see stupid worms showing off stolen artworks and everyone loves their robot made art.

Do you perhaps know some more artists that I can give my support to? Because they deserve the world.

No I started typing this and clicked a new notification and lost it 😩. I'm sure some of my friends who do artist commissions and know artists would love to weigh in, because I won't scoop up even close to a third of the talent

I hope people add to this list- there is no shortage of talent, we are not deprived of content. There is no need to rely on AI when actual artists draw the characters we love with so much care and thought and passion.
