I'm trying out a monthly spread for my journaling again! It's also my first time using a lined notebook since I wanted to try using this drugstore notebook freebie as my journal.
Got my cards read today and it said that 2024 will be full of self-care and independence. The year is looking good so far!

Kind Sir, Please
Have you ever read a comment and thought you could have written it because it articulates your exact thought? This is my favorite bit of Freddino’s interview at The Real Daytime show:
I scrolled down to read the comments and found the best comment ever:
I mean!!!!! I want to be imposed upon, we all want to be imposed upon. How come he doesn’t know that we want the THIS he is trying to hide? stilltainted922 thank you - we should start a global movement for this noble cause.

The Wish Your Heart Makes - The Harrington House.
I’m a sucker for old houses and history, so I thought I would share the house that inspired Steve and Billy’s house for the other nerds out there
These old worker cottages are disappearing from the city, but I find it very inspiring whenever I see these old houses that have been here for more than a century standing up sandwiched by giant buildings. That feels very in tune with Billy and Steve and everything they’ve had to face.
The Harrington House was inspired by a real house the company I worked for sold a few years ago, that I fell in love with. I have made a promise to myself to try and buy this house before I die. But then again if I’m ever 3 Million dollars flush, you’ll need to pinch me awake.

thinking about her (three sword style Nami that Oda drew for One Piece magazine vol. 13)
I have not been able to stop thinking about her ever since I saw this design. I took some liberties with the outfit, giving her more of a sports bra and biker shorts and a sleeve (I am not sure if it is a sleeve or haki, I am running with it)

it drives me bonkers the way people don't know how to read classic books in context anymore. i just read a review of the picture of dorian gray that said "it pains me that the homosexual subtext is just that, a subtext, rather than a fully explored part of the narrative." and now i fully want to put my head through a table. first of all, we are so lucky in the 21st century to have an entire category of books that are able to loudly and lovingly declare their queerness that we've become blind to the idea that queerness can exist in a different language than our contemporary mode of communication. second it IS a fully explored part of the narrative! dorian gray IS a textually queer story, even removed from the context of its writing. it's the story of toxic queer relationships and attraction and dangerous scandals and the intertwining of late 19th century "uranianism" and misogyny. second of all, i'm sorry that oscar wilde didn't include 15k words of graphic gay sex with ao3-style tags in his 1890 novel that was literally used to convict him of indecent behaviour. get well soon, i guess...
