Everyone Hates Poetry 2024
Here are the finalists, please do not feel bad if you are not here. That doesn't mean your poem was bad or no one voted for it. This is an imperfect system. There were a lot of submissions and most people probably did not read all of the 90 poems. This was an experiment but most things like this have elements of being popularity contests based on things other than merit, like exposure, popularity of the author etc.
Please vote for your favorite poem. Please only vote once because previously we had people voting multiple times and this time I am going to have to disqualify poems where this happens.
Congratulations to all of you for producing some work and getting it read. People got something out of what you did whether you ended up winning or not. I've read some pretty terrible poems in the New Yorker, on occasion. It's good to remember tastes vary widely.

Important thing I don’t see many people discussing. I’ve been seeing a lot of people lately say there are no hospitals left in Gaza. This is untrue and is psychological warfare.
STOP SPREADING THE IDEA THERE ARE NO HOSPITALS LEFT IN GAZA. DONT LOSE HOPE.

Hey, so one alternative to testosterone injections I don't see talked about nearly enough is pellets. I see a lot about topical testosterone, but it's not always super viable for a lot of us. I was on the patch for several months and I keep a small stock of patches in case I'm not able to get my pellets on time, but they always gave me horrific rashes and I sweat so much they usually fall off after a couple of hours. And the gel risks being transferred to pets and kids and such.
Pellets do involve needles, but you aren't going to see them. You're usually lying on your stomach while the doctor implants them in your ass or upper thigh. If you have a good doctor, they'll tell you what they're doing or have a distracting conversation depending on what you need.
And they're great if you're like me and remembering your meds is difficult. You go to the doctor once every three months, you then take it easy for a day or two so the incision can heal, and then you just get to forget about it until it's time for another dose. Because it's a steady slow release over the course of a few months, you don't really get peaks and slumps the way you would with other doses (unless you're on the wrong dose or timetable, but that's something you figure out with your doctor through blood tests and the like).
It's not just an alternative to injections, it's just super convenient. And depending on your health insurance, it may be cheaper than other methods too. (I'm on MassHealth, meaning all medications have a $3.75 copay. But because it's an in-office procedure I'm able to waive that copay and get my hormones for free, no questions asked.)
It's also super easy to microdose if that's what you want to do because of the fact that they're a bunch of small-dose pellets rather than a single implant. And there's no removal either - they just dissolve under your skin to release the testosterone.
I feel like more transmascs need to be aware of the multitude of HRT options available to us because we're constantly being told about injections and occasionally gel or patches and that's it.

‼️🇵🇸🇬🇧PLEASE SHARE! This is not my video but I was there on Saturday - I saw how the police were acting towards peaceful protesters. It’s completely unacceptable! Every week we walk and chant and the protests are always peaceful but then the police act as if we are criminals. They’re the ones who aren’t peaceful.
Share this ! This is Manchester, St Peter’s square Saturday 10th Feb

Project 2025.
"It is not enough for conservatives to win elections. If we are going to rescue the country from the grip of the radical Left, we need both a governing agenda and the right people in place, ready to carry this agenda out on day one of the next conservative administration.
This is the goal of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project. The project will build on four pillars that will, collectively, pave the way for an effective conservative administration: a policy agenda, personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook."
This is what they're planning to do. This is what you're handing the US and the world over if you do not vote blue in 2024.
If that's the choice you want to make, then please let it be an informed one.
Do you want to know what your 2025 will look like?
Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.

Posting this here because it's important and it needs to reach people. This blog is where I have the most followers.
I don't know which teenager or young adult needs to hear this, but NO MATTER WHAT THE 40+ YEAR OLDS IN YOUR LIFE SAY, YOU ARE NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE BECAUSE YOU'RE YOUNG.
I'm 27 years old and I need to have an MRI done on my wrist because I've been experiencing pain for years. It's very likely that I now have arthritis before the age of 30. All because I tripped when I was 19 or 20.
Please take any injuries seriously and go to the doctor if you can. Don't be like me. Don't assume you'll be perfectly fine because of your age.

I’m all of a sudden acutely aware that not everyone sees them as father and son.
Go off with your interpretations (provided it’s legal), curiosity’s just gotten the better of me.

Important PSA : Save Groot!
------------------------------
I honestly have never posted anything like this before, on Tumblr or any other social media site, but a very dire situation has come to my attention that needs and deserves recognition.
Tumblr media
This beautiful boy was diagnosed with cancer.
Because of the overwhelming medical bills as well as ongoing treatment required…. Groot’s wonderful, amazing, caring, loving, generous human named Autumn needs help.
She has already held fundraisers, sold a bunch of her stuff, took commissions, accepted help from her friends and family, and both Autumn and her fiancé spent whatever they had in their savings.
(The most recent bill was an unexpected hospital stay that was over $4,000. But because of that hospital stay, Groot is currently back home, right where he belongs by Autumn's side.)
All of this has kept Groot alive and thriving.
Thanks to all of Autumn’s efforts and refusal to give up on her precious pup, Groot is successfully beating cancer.
In fact, his veterinarian as well as the oncologists caring for Groot have given him a very positive prognosis. They have praised his strength and the journey he is conquering step by step.
They are confident that Groot will thrive after overcoming this difficult obstacle in his life.
However!
While Groot has taken his chemo treatments very well, he still requires several more rounds.
He needs to receive approximately 12 more rounds of chemo over the course of the next 3 or so months.
Because Groot is such a strong, lively, tenacious little warrior who still has a long life ahead of him, I am asking for everyone to please spread this around!
I completely understand if you personally cannot donate. Times are tough, and everyone is struggling in one way or another.
Autumn also understands this.
She has told me multiple times just how extremely guilty and sick she feels from seeking help. She is doing absolutely everything she can, even applying for loans and credit cards to cover the extra costs on her own.
Autumn is not the kind of person who expects others to contribute/donate to her. She is under immense amounts of stress and dealing with so much currently, yet she still remains unbelievably considerate, sensitive, thoughtful, and understanding towards everyone else and their situations.
And that’s exactly why I’m posting this. Autumn and Groot need and deserve our help!
So even if you can’t donate monetarily, reblogging and sharing this would be greatly appreciated and make such a difference!
The more people who see this, the better.
Groot is more than just a dog to Autumn. Groot is her best friend, her family member, her baby, her world.
She has given everything for him, so let’s help both Autumn and Groot in any way possible!
If you are able to donate, you can do so at this link here —> Groot’s GoFundMe
If you would like to follow Groot’s journey and leave words of kindness/encouragement, you can follow Groot_The_Dog8 on TikTok
You have my sincere and eternal gratitude 💙

So this isn't exactly my usual post, but as I'm sure most people will know by now, the UK government have recently introduced incredibly dangerous and discrimatory new 'guidelines' on how to 'deal with' trans kids in schools. This involves banning social transition without explicit parental consent, allowing misgendering of trans pupils, and even teachers being 'advised' (told) to out pupils who are trans or questioning to their parents which, as I'm sure is pretty obvious, is at best taking away someone's choice in when to come out and at worst putting someone in a potentially dangerous situation.
Mermaids, which is a trans rights charity, have organised a petition to send to local MPs and eventually the government in order to protest this law, which you can find by following this link: https://mermaidsuk.org.uk/schools/
Thanks so much to anyone who signs this petition, and remember YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Share this, reblog it, do your own research, raise awareness. I'm more than happy to provide extra info and links to articles if anyone wants them.
