So, I switched programs shortly after the Wip I gave you guys, wanted to give y’all the new and improved one. This program has been far kinder! I’m currently at 40 seconds. My only complaint is they don’t have a dedicated Gaussian blur from what I can tell…
Also, to give you guys some fresh content: have a comic!
Tumblr media
This screams them. Don’t mind my inconsistency with Theo, I’ll get in the grove someday.

"Two angry parents..."
Tumblr media
Soooo, this has been sitting in my WIP folder for ages. Here's a little sketch of Encanzo and Queen Sychorax from Cressida Cowell's the wizards of once series. Did this on one of my hour-long train rides to uni, back when I was listening to the audiobooks. I hadn't seen any of the illustrations at that point and was going completely off of the books' description (which really doesn't give you all that much to work with), so forgive me if it's a little off haha.

I've got another theory about Chloé Bourgeois!
Chloé is not only a Senti-Being, but she's also been her own handler since she was six years old.
Tumblr media
This would explain her childish mindset (believing in Santa Claus and cooties, and still sucks her thumb), despite being a fourteen year old girl.
André knowing what the Peacock Miraculous does, made Chloé her own handler in hopes of keeping her his "little princess" for much longer.
Tumblr media
I don't think even he knew how she'd turn out when she got older.
Headcanon: The day Audrey left, Chloé hugged Mr. Cuddly tight while saying something like "Be more like mommy and she'll come back" repeatedly, which caused her to turn out more like Audrey despite her mother not being around to actually influence her. She didn't know she was commanding herself magically.
Everything that happened with Adrien and Félix with those rings, happened to Chloé with Mr. Cuddly.
Butler Jean temporarily became Chloé's handler and tries to use Mr. Cuddly to make her a nicer person. Much to the teen's dismay.
He's basically commanding her with the bear!
Tumblr media
Also, look at this face on Chloé when she looks into the bear's diamond eyes. It almost looks like she's under a magic spell!
Tumblr media
As the episode went on Chloé started to slowly but surely fights off the amok's control due to feeling embarrassed by her more immature and softer side being showed to others (she wanted to be like Audrey SO BAD).
Tumblr media
This leads to Chloé firing the Butler, something that Audrey would've done.
Without being controlled by her amok, Chloé let's Marinette dance with Adrien & she was able to even save Ladybug during the fight, but then starts pouting like a child when she wasn't being praised for it.
The akuma Despair Bear interests me a bit.
Instead of giving him the power to make Chloé nicer by giving her a mini bear hug or something, Gabriel gives Jean the power to CONTROL anyone so he could get closer to Chloé.
Also, if you wanna ask "How come Despair Bear wasn't being used to control Chloé?". Because at that moment Jean wasn't focusing on controlling Chloé, he was focused on getting revenge on her.
Tumblr media
For those who are asking "If the Amok's in the bear, then why didn't it come out along with the butterfly?" Because the akuma was in the thread of the bear and NOT one of the diamond eyes, which is where I think the amok is located.
I think that Ladybug briefly became Chloé's handler by accident and since Ladybug is someone Chloé looks up to, Chloé was gonna do what she can to make her happy. Which "somehow" included letting Tom Dupain to teach the class how to make macaroons at her party.
Tumblr media
Then went back to her own original command to be more like Audrey and starts insulting everyone's baked goods.
Now on to Heroes' Day Part 2, where the hint was so direct, it's absolutely WILD!
MR. CUDDLY WAS DIRECTLY USED TO CONTROL CHLOÉ IN THE SAME EPISODE MAYURA MADE HER DEBUT!!!!
Tumblr media
Coincidence? I DON'T THINK SO!!
Alot happened with Chloé in the Episode "Miracler"
Tumblr media
She rejects the opportunity to hold her supposed amok.
She fights off being Akumatized by Hawkmoth.
Before Félix's debut, she was the closest character to getting her hands on the Peacock Miraculous (Senti-Teens really wanna get their hands on this one).
Note: Instead of immediately leaving with the Bee Miraculous, Mayura offers Chloé a spot on Hawkmoth's team. Did she want control of supposedly another Senti-Teen?!
Speaking of Chloé in the third season...
What was the akuma power she got from Hawkmoth after losing fate and trust in Ladybug for not giving her what she wanted?
Tumblr media
THE POWER TO CONTROL PEOPLE! SOUND FAMILIAR?!
Tell me what you guys think!

Top 10 songs of 2022, reviewed by yours truly
10, Artificial Suicide by Bad Omens
I was pretty late for the new Bad Omens album hype but this song has always been in rotation since the album release in February. The rest of the album is pretty good as well, but this song stands out for me because of heaviness and the lyrical theme. Bad Omens are one of the bands nowadays that dare to change without faking it. Amazing song.
9. Miracle by A Day To Remember
I'm one of those elder emos who remember the biggest hype around ADTR around 2014 or so. I always considered Homesick as one of the greatest albums of all time and after their last album, You're Welcome, I was just as disappointed as everyone else. Thankfully being an Imagine Dragons cover band didn't last long. They came back with this single with probably one of my favorite breakdowns of the year. Completely unexpected but very well done.
8. Techno Train by Electric Callboy
German metalcore band Electric Callboy had a pretty busy year. First they tried to apply to the Eurovision song contest with their song 'Pump It' that brought a lot of new fans to the band, but ultimately got rejected because of their old name and old lyrical themes that, needless to say would be 100% cancelled today. Because of this rejection and because they realized they're here to entertain, not offend, they changed their name. Then they put out bangers after bangers with schlager turned deathcore song 'Hurricane', a collab with Conquer Divide called 'Fuckboi', and a song about being a Spaceman with a german verse I don't even understand. Then they released their album Tekkno which is arguably one of the best overall records of the year. This song however stands out just because of the lyrical ridiculousness. The CHOO-CHOO-CHOO in the breakdown is the thing this year that never fails to make me laugh. 100% banger.
7. The King And Queen of Gasoline by Hot Milk
British pop punk duo hot milk has been on my radar for a couple years now but with their new EP they got a place in my heart for sure. This song in particular is so catchy, that after a single listen it got stuck in my head for days. I couldn't figure out what it was but then I realized and it hit me. The verse, the guitar riff and the chorus are all so unforgettable that there's no way someone forgets them in this century after a couple listens. The lyrics are as emo as ever, which of course were also appealing to me. Their earlier song that I really love is 'I Think I Hate Myself' which has major Welcome To The Black Parade vibes in its bridge and its solo, which I thought was worth mentioning since that also come out recently before this EP. Both are amazing songs by an amazing band.
6. Masterpiece by Motionless In White
Some people in the metalcore community always judge MIW for being a Breaking Benjamin turned goth cover band and, well, they're not entirely wrong. Chris Motionless has absolutely been heavily influenced by Benjamin Burley's vocal takes as every clean chorus he writes, could be on either Phobia or Dear Agony by the aforementioned band. Masterpiece though is not just a BB cover, it's also a masterpiece. It brought the band a place as nr. 1. on the Mainstream Rock Airplay, being their biggest achievement since 2013. They absolutely deserve it, as the song and the whole album works greatly as a getaway drug to metalcore and metal in general. MIW, BMTH, Bad Omens and Architects are absolutely today's Linkin Parks and Slipknots as far as spreading heavy music goes.
5. The Foundations of Decay by My Chemical Romance
This song was the biggest surprise release of the year for me. Not just because we haven't got a new official release from the band in nearly a decade (except the rerelease of The Black Parade and Fake Your Death from their best of album), but because the song really really differs from the last official album of MCR. Danger Days was almost a pop record with bangers all around and TFOD compared to this is like a completely different band, reminiscing on the eras way before The Black Parade, their most successful record yet. The production of this song is the only questionable thing about it, the vocals are really low-mixed, the guitars however are as punk and grungy as it gets. It even has a breakdown. Very nice surprise from Gerard and the boys.
4. Strangers by Bring Me The Horizon
Whoever knows me knows that I'm a huge fan of BMTH. I love everything they've done from amo to Count Your Blessings. They're the only band in the scene that dictate the current style of metalcore writing and producing. The songwriting duo of Jordan Fish and Oli Sykes is unquestionably one of the best at ther job in the past like 20 years, they can do whatever the fuck they want to do with music and people are gonna enjoy it. With the Post Human EP series they celebrate genres they love and pay homage to them by mixing them with their own style. This is what happened in their last EP, Survival Horror as well. Back then they chose NU metal for the style. Right now in this album cycle this style is emo. With both singles heavily influenced by emo bands, Strangers stood out for me because of the unexpected 6/8 time signature. Brings me back to the good old days with Brand New and Taking Back Sunday on repeat.
3. Anabolic Spudsman (thique edition) by Bilmuri feat Will Ramos and Spencer Stewart
This song is probably the most random entry on this list. I'm very surprised Bilmuri is not mentioned as one of the most innovative bands of the scene right now. This song is so unexpected and fun that I can't even categorize it in a genre. Or multiple. This song is all over the place. It has a really catchy verse and pop-ish vibes, well, except the current king of deathore himself Will Ramos is serving his time as the backing vocalist in the meanwhile. The chorus would fit in a Billboard Nr. 1. song, it's that poppy. Then around 2 minutes the breakdown hits, Will screams our butts off, aaaand we're back to the pop vocals for the rest of the bridge. Then the biggest surprise, a fucking saxophone solo. This song is amazingly unexpected, well-written and all over the place, I love it.
2. Call Me Little Sunshine by Ghost
Yes I have to mention Ghost. Impera was released in March and was on repeat for me for the rest of the year. The first single Call Me Little Sunshine was never skipped. The guitar riff reminded me of their song Cirice, the lyrical theme of course was about Satan, who else, and the production was raised to the next level by Papa and the Ghouls. The live version featuring the Ghoulettes' backing vocals is even better than the album edit. The rest of the album is great as well, honorable mentions are Spillways, Respite on the Spitalfields and Kaiserion. With this easy to play doomy song they showed that there's still that edge in them despite growing more popular with each release (Looking at you tiktokers listening to Mary On A Cross).
Pain Remains (I-II-III) by Lorna Shore
Technically my first place is 3 songs in one. This is gonna be the longest song review so bare with me. Lorna Shore has been around for a while with multiple vocalist and several other member changes. They never stood out for me from the crowd, as I've never been the biggest deathcore fan myself. But I have to admit, the whole record Pain Remains singlehandedly saved deathcore overnight for me. Obviously they needed a charismatic new frontman, a couple of catchy symphonic elements (which were always there but were left ignored by me for some reason) and reaction channels and tiktok hyping up their upcoming album. When the first Pain Remains was released, I thought I was witnessing history being written. It was a freaking deathcore ballad, with more genuine emotions than the When We Were Young festival's whole lineup. The videos are also well made and tell a story about a man losing his lover which causes him to go down on a depressive spiral, ultimately ending his own life. The trilogy has also several callbacks to itself. Dancing Like Flames' fire comes back in the third act, In A Sea Of FIre as the fire that burns down our protagonist's house and life with all of his memories about his love. The most disturbing one is the second act, After All That I've Done, I Disappear, where he tries to end his own life right next to his wife's casket after her funeral, but failing in the end. The first 2 songs have solved the whole genre's only problem for me, which was the lack of emotion and genuineness. The raw emotion in the 'A World Without You Is Not Meant For Me' scream has me shivering every time I hear it. They made a truly amazing record with Pain Remains and I really hope they continue to do so with similar projects in the future.

time to rant about my eggpire madoka au ^_^ this will not be spoiler free in the SLIGHTEST for madoka magica so take this as your warning to skip this post if you don’t want to see any of that
so to start with kyubey is ofc the egg. instead of being impartial and apathetic, only serving to fight against entropy, the egg utilizes magical girls’ energy source for itself, kind of like what it does in-canon with people’s life force. magical girl being used very loosely, as it’s very much a unisex position. i’m not sure if it’d look like kyubey or like, some sort of sentient plant though. maybe something more similar to what bebe looks like in rebellion.
bbh is homura, and skeppy is madoka! their story largely follows the same track, with skeppy already being a magical girl when he and bad first meet, only to die to walpurgisnacht, so i’m making dreamXD for now, but it’s not something i’m too solid about. bad makes his contract with the egg, wishing to be able to redo his first meeting with skeppy, and to be the one protecting him. bad gets thrown into a time loop of the same month, constantly trying and failing to save skeppy from his death, desperate to do anything for his safety.
ant is mami, although his wish differs from hers and is closer to dsmp canon, having wished for velvet to be brought back. punz is kyoko, with their wish having been for people to listen and follow dream’s preachings. and ponk is sayaka, whose wish was for sam’s hands to miraculously heal so he could invent again. that of course makes sam kamijo, and foolish hitomi.
the events follow the canon of madoka magica as closely as possible. ant still dies to bebe (or whatever bebe’s witch is called), punz still arrives to be his replacement, ponk still falls into despair as she sees foolish and sam happily together, and punz still dies killing ponk’s witch form. XD still attacks, bad still tries to fight it alone, and skeppy still puts an end to it all with his wish and contract. the real major difference is that after seeing all the horrors of the world of magical girls, skeppy’s wish isn’t to end their suffering, like madoka’s was. he’s just fucking annoyed and tired and done with having to witness it all, so he wishes to kill all witches before they’re born so he (and no one else) has to continue putting up with this shit. its not really that much of an act of selflessness, it’s just that after bad explained to him the time loop and all of that, he could not fucking stand the idea of going through all this again, whether he could remember it or not. anyways he ascends to godhood yadda yadda i could go into rebellion as well but it’s late so. maybe another night. this is for the extremely niche 0.00000000001% of my followers that are as obsessed with the eggpire and pmmm as i am <3

Hi, sorry if you’ve talked about this before, but why is The Miracle your favorite album? I haven’t seen many people list it as their favorite
!!!! I have talked about it before but apparently not any time recently since I had to go back to 2019 in my archives to find this post and this follow up but I'm gonna talk about it more because holy shit do I love this album
The first thing I want to clarify is that when I say that The Miracle is my favorite album I don't mean that every single song on that album is my favorite. I mean that as an album I think The Miracle is damn near perfect. It's the difference between something like The Works, which has a lot of good songs on it but those are songs that could also pretty easily fit onto a number of other Queen albums, and something like Queen II where for the most part those songs can only work on that album.
The Miracle hits a very similar vibe for me. I'm pretty sure I've half-jokingly called it "Queen II of the 80s" before because even if musically the two couldn't be more different I think in terms of band development and musical intent the two albums are extremely similar.
Because I mean, what makes Queen II special compared to the rest of their work? I think we can all agree it's the amount of thought and structure and detail that went into making the album. It's Queen flexing their wings musically and showing everything they're capable of doing. It's arguably a concept album, though they don't seem to think of it like that, and it's a perfect reflection of who Queen were at that point in time: the white-and-black motifs, the heavy rock contrasted against the more delicate tracks, the over-composing and drive for perfection in every song... It's Queen taking a stand after the less-than-stellar release of their first album and saying, "This is who we are, this is what we can do, and you haven't seen anything yet."
And in a lot of ways, The Miracle does the exact same thing. It’s a rare Queen album that tells a story and has a running theme through all the tracks on the album, rather than just being a collection of songs that share a similar musical sound.
The entire album is Queen telling us, “We’re not done yet.” It’s Queen coming back after taking over a year off and in the face of the tabloids saying that the band was dead making a firm statement to the contrary. It’s Queen knowing that the end is coming, with Freddie’s health problems looming over them, and Roger’s and Brian’s personal lives being dragged into the spotlight, and John starting to pull back from the public, and all of them choosing to come back together anyway because of course they’re going to stand by each other until the end.
It’s an album that opens by telling you that the party is supposedly over, and then launches into nine more tracks showing you why that’s not the case at all. It’s an album that challenges the idea of success, that rails against the invasion of privacy by the media and that highlights the unique invisibility of the self that public figures face. It’s an album written two decades after the members of Queen first started meeting each other and playing together and it asks, “Was anything that happened in the last twenty years worth it?”
And it’s an album that answers “Yes, absolutely, yes” to that question, in no uncertain terms.
Like Queen II, this is an album that marks a turning point for Queen as a band. Rather than being a pivotal stepping-stone on their road to stardom, it’s the first hint of a goodbye from a band who’s already at the top and knows their time is up. I think a lot of fans overlook The Miracle because Innuendo is Freddie’s “last album” and Made In Heaven is the “last Queen studio album”... but The Miracle was started after Freddie got his AIDS diagnosis and there was never any guarantee that he would live to see it completed and they knew this while working on it.
And yet, unlike I think with Innuendo, Queen didn’t have to make any sacrifices or concessions in order to finish the album. On the contrary they produced an overwhelming amount of material during these sessions, nearly 30 extra songs that didn’t make the album, and while I’m sure part of that is due to the extra time they spent working on it… They also just really enjoyed working on the album together, something that I think is reflected in the number of tracks that they wrote as a true collective and also in the music videos they filmed. Like there was no reason that they had to film the Breakthru video on a train - but it was fun and they had the chance, so why not?
This is the first album where all tracks were credited to Queen as a whole, rather than individual writers, the first album that had to be remastered for different media formats (the CD had three more songs than the LP did), and I think the first use of digital artwork on a Queen album. There’s also some sadder firsts too, namely the first time the band didn’t tour for an album, but they still managed to put so much joy in everything they did do to promote The Miracle that it’s easy to forget everything that’s missing that we would have gotten if Freddie wasn’t sick.
The Miracle is my favorite album because more than any other album of theirs, it’s a showcase of everything that makes Queen great: the harmonies and layered vocals, the unforgettable basslines, the heavy guitar solos that Brian has always favored, the depth of emotion in their music, and the insights into them as a band and as people that we aren’t entitled to by any means but are still absolutely wonderful to see played out here.
It’s an album that didn’t need to be made. With everything Queen was going through at the time, it would’ve been easy to see people talking about the band being dead and decide that maybe they should stop and just keep A Kind of Magic as their grand finale - but Queen didn’t do that. Instead they came back together to find their creative ideas overflowing again, despite (or because of) the disaster that was becoming their personal lives, and they decided to put all the things they couldn’t say aloud into their music as an explanation of what’s happened and what’s still to come.
And rather than title it something that highlighted the chaos of their lives, like “Perpetual Craze”, or something that talked to the secrets they had to keep, like “The Invisible Men”, Queen decided to name it after the track where Freddie, with his terminal illness, sings about needing a miracle - because even if they all knew he wouldn’t get one, they had to keep believing it could happen.
More than anything else this band put out, this album paints a story of their lives that is painful and heartbreaking and yet somehow hopeful despite everything they were facing. It’s an album that could have been so, so dark but it takes that bleakness and shines a light on it instead and tells you in no uncertain terms, “Whatever comes next, everything that’s already happened still matters.”
And that’s why The Miracle is my favorite Queen album ever.

Episode 22 of Yuki no Joou ~The Snow Queen~ beginning and ending with Ragi on the subject of miracles reminds me of Black Jack in OVA 5: The Owl of San Merida. Early in the episode, Ragi narrates, as always, but he also thinks about how he doesn't believe in miracles. Focusing on observable realities saved him, at least as far as he believes.
(Head down and eyes closed while he's ruminating, he walks past a fountain sculpted to resemble an angel.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But at the end, when Amelia and Freddy fail to reconcile (because Freddy hides behind his showmanship too much to properly apologize), Ragi tells the truth of Freddy's condition and what he intends to do after this final show, unless "miracles truly exist in this world"... Ragi telling Amelia this leads to that miracle taking place.
Tumblr media
At the end, Gerda happily asks Ragi if he believes in miracles and he hesitates to answer.
"After all, this is a miracle you created." As he was the worldly cause of this miracle taking place... all he can do is awkwardly cede to that last point, at least, while the last of the fireworks echoes in the following silence, like a blast.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's somber and touching and reminds me of how Black Jack at the end of The Owl of San Merida, still couldn't believe, but he wished he could. There were times he'd feel it would be helpful to be able to draw on something like that... as he brings down the window shade, shutting out the light.

Chloé with Ladybug, Chat Noir, & most of their teammates VS Chloé with just Bunnyx
Chloé has something to say to or about Ladybug and Chat Noir as well as most of their team.
Chloé went from being one of Ladybug's biggest fans, to one of her very few haters when she took the Bee Miraculous from her for the final time.
Tumblr media
She openly hates her so much now, that if the Miraculous Instagrams were still posting, there would actually be a post of her throwing her Ladybug costume away!
Tumblr media
Chloé's been disrespecting Chat Noir since the first season. Even referring to him as "Ladybug's Sidekick" and trying to make him do her homework.
Tumblr media
The only times she's been nice to him are when she wanted the Bee Miraculous.
Despite ACTUALLY seeing Rena Rouge and Carapace in action and working alongside them, she openly calls them tacky (out of jealousy cause they were given their Miraculous again & she wasn't).
Tumblr media
If she saw an an opportunity to push them around, she took it!
When she found out the identities of Ladybug and Chat Noir's teammates, she had insults ready for ALL OF THEM!
Tumblr media
She even called them "Poorly Chosen". Meaning SHE REMEMBERS WHO THEY ARE UNDER THEIR MASKS!
And before you say it, yes she did call Luka cute (and insulted his fashion sense).
Tumblr media
But later she calls him "Utterly Useless!" when he loses the Snake Miraculous.
And we all know how much Chloé HATES Vesperia!
Tumblr media
Good thing Chloé doesn't find out her identity or things could've gotten messy.
When Marinette starts recruiting new team members, they were just "unknown losers" to Chloé, since she doesn't know their identities.
Tumblr media
But she has absolutely NOTHING to say about Bunnyx, despite knowing that she's Alix!
Tumblr media
Alix is gonna be gone for who knows how long, so WHY ISN'T CHLOÉ TALKING CRAP?!
And before any of you say "Of course she wouldn't say anything about her with her dad being there!"
This girl Chloé didn't hesitate to get Sabrina's dad fired or push Marinette's parents into danger!
You'd think she'd be more than ready to talk crap about a guy's daughter who he's not gonna see again for a very long time... But NOPE!
Tumblr media
You'd think Thomas would totally have her go there with Season Five being his last season... But again, NOPE!
Instead of badmouthing Bunnyx, Chloé badmouths LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR! Being fully aware that MOST OF HER CLASSMATES were miraculous wielders who admire the two so very much!
So Chloé can't talk smack about Alix/Bunnyx, who ISN'T THERE to dunk on her if she tried... But she can talk smack about EVERYONE'S FAVORITE POWER DUO?!
Chloé, you're not fooling ANYBODY! We KNOW you have a new favorite!!
