The expectation is always present, but all of the cousins admire the older family members. They want to evolve and be like those in the generations before them, but... There is not really a choice being made in the matter.” Prince: “What about you, though? How did you come to evolve? Were you as cute as *me* before? Heehee!”

Finding the joy has quickly vanished from her face, Charade casts a gaze at Maria, giving the Umbreon a deliberate, knowing stare. She musters up a sad smile before turning her attention back on Prince, gently giving him a fond ruffle on the head.

Charade: “Your family is very important to you, isn't it? Here's a little story about me. When I was a kitten, my... family... was important to me, too. They wanted me to evolve so I could be a strong battler when I grew up. And I thought that's what I wanted! I thought I wanted to evolve and make the family proud.”

Charade: “Here's the thing: your family shouldn't make you feel pressured into doing what they want you to do. In my case, not evolving would have been... unacceptable. They were a terrible family for a lot of reasons, but that was one of them!”

Charade's expression turns to disgust, briefly enough that it was possible for Prince to miss it as just as quickly, a cunning smile appears beneath the Meowscarada's mask. As she speaks, her eyes flicker over to Maria several times.

Charade: “I did feel some regrets when I was a Floragato. But when I evolved into Meowscarada, it was because I wanted to. I haven't regretted my evolution at all since then! And, I found a family that loves me for who I am. Remember that, Prince! You're allowed to decide who your family really is.”

(A thread made by your resident OG Pokemon fan. I did my best to give each of the lads a Mega evolution, an Eeveelution as well as a plausible starter Pokemon.)

Bojan - Fairy type ✨

Mischievous, ethereal and charming

Starter Pokémon: Chimchar/Infernape

Actual first Pokémon: Growlithe/Arcanine

He definitely has a couple of fire-types that allude to his sexiness.

Tinkaton, Diancie and Sylveon are little but fierce, just like him. DO NOT mess with them.

Arcanine and Ninetales are puppies!

Diancie suits him. A tiny diamond princess who’s a sight to behold and screams “look at me”? Absolutely a Bojan-coded Pokémon.

Kris - Psychic Type ⚜️

Elegant, intelligent and such a slay

Starter Pokémon: Fennekin/Delphox

Actual First Pokémon: Ralts/Gallade

C'MON GUYS, Gallade has cake. A huge cake. Looks very princely too. He’s a much better fit for Kris than Gardevoir!

Hatterene is SUCH a Kris-coded Pokémon. Tall, beautiful and they even share a default expression!

Milotic is a fitting, beautiful tallmon. Naturally such a beauty would suit Kris!

Kris mentioned that he prefers light over darkness, hence Psychic types in general and Espeon in particular.

Jan - Dark Type 💀

Mysterious, sexy and edgy

Starter Pokémon: Sprigatito/Meowscarada

Actual First Pokémon: Deino/Hydreigon

Houndoom has sexy incubus vibes. One cannot have an appropriate Jan team without a Pokémon that gives off incubus vibes.

Weavile and Umbreon are appropriate black cat coded Pokémon.

He's the only one with the patience to slowly raises a Deino all the way to Hydreigon. Even if the little Deino is clumsy and blind, and evolves so late, he perseveres (and thus also shows his soft side). Also, imagine little Jan and Deino with their matching hairstyles!

Jan mentioned that he prefers darkness over light, hence the Dark type in general and Umbreon in particular.

Jure - Electric Type ⚡️

Energetic, chaotic and playful

Starter Pokémon: Pikachu/Raichu

Actual First Pokémon: Shinx/Luxray

Rotom is a chaotic gremlin, of course Jure would have one! And he does switch between all its forms from time to time.

Luxray and Zeraora are big cats!

Ampharos may be cute...but it's a dragon and is capable of VERY dangerous things, so please do not piss it off.

Jolteon is SUCH a Jure coded Eeveelution. Chaotic? Swift as lightning? Charming in its own way? Yup.

Nace - Ground Type 🍂

Strong, steady and reliable

Starter Pokémon: Turtwig/Torterra

Actual First Pokémon: Teddiursa/Ursaluna

Of course Gengar makes it on his team. A Nace coded team is not a proper Nace coded team without Gengar!

Ursaluna is 100% a Nace Pokemon...FIGHT ME. Just look at it! A fierce looking bear that also looks like it could give nice hugs to its owner? Sounds just like Nace in Pokémon form.

He absolutely has the temperament to deal with a powerhouse like Garchomp.

Leafeon is nurturing, but also has immense strength for a small Pokémon - it’s strong enough to split trees. 100% the Nace-coded Eeveelution.

Martin - Steel Type ⚙️

Logical, dignified and protective

Starter Pokémon: Piplup/Empoleon

Actual First Pokémon: Porygon/Porygon-Z

Metagross is just as intelligent as Martin is, and despite being hell to catch, Martin managed to work out a strategy and caught it in a Beast Ball, no less!

Martin has a very kind heart, and this kind heart means that he would never abandon his very first Pokémon that he programmed, a Porygon that evolved into Porygon-Z, even when it starts acting quirky!

He's such a king, of course Pokemon such as Kingdra and Aegislash would suit him.

He has some Water-types to reflect his caring, levelheaded side. Vaporeon is the Eeveelution that suits him most, due to its qualities.

"Mx. Cyrus! Lookit this! Doesn't it seem like fun!" The Sprigatito hurries over to their guardian, holding an envelope. "'Star Sending'... Do you think we could meet new people this way? We could make 'em smile, too!"

The Espeon looks over the contents quietly before nodding their head. "Yes, perhaps so, Young Master." Cyrus skims over the list again and tilts their head. "What do you think we should purchase for them?"

"I've got a better idea," Prince exclaims, pulling out a map from Cyrus's bag. "I bet we could make something with the flowers in Artazon!"

Cyrus: "Greetings. An honor to meet you." They bow to both Risa and Turnip.

Prince: "We made these for ya! Hope ya like them. C'mon, open it up, open it up!"

Prince excitedly hands his box to Turnip, Cyrus chuckling and shaking their head before floating their box over to Risa.

Prince: "Ta-da! Some flowers from Artazon! They're- um... G-gaze..."

Cyrus: "Gazanias. And Blue Geraniums, I believe?"

Prince: "Yeah! One means something like 'treasure', and 'loyalty'! That's what they said, right?"

Pokemon Horizons Episode 36 Review - Gender Confirmation: The Episode

The odd jobs saga continues as Liko and Roy are tasked to help out one of Nidothing’s viewers with her problem. The viewer, Yunorin, wants to join the Tag Battle Tournament held in Pigton Town, but her Oinkologne isn’t too thrilled about partnering up with another Pokemon. What could be the issue? That’s why Nidothing dispatches Liko and Roy to help her out. It’s nice that the kids are the main focus of the episode without adults interfering this time around.

If I were to describe this episode, it’d be ‘Gender Confirmation: The Episode’ as there were so many gender reveals alongside showing off gender differences between the two Oinkolognes. Liko’s Sprigatito and a few other swine Pokemon were revealed to be female as they were affected by Renta’s male Oinkologne, Prince’s aroma. Since Quaxly and Fuecoco were not enamored, they are confirmed male. I think this is nice as viewers don’t have to continue speculating their gender and the staff doesn’t have to keep dragging it out.

Although Dot wasn’t present in the town, her Quaxly was and he was the star of the episode. I love his little dance. Since he’s male, it made me think of mating dances that some male birds often do to attract females. This fits him because Quaxly is an avian Pokemon and a very flamboyant one at that. I think the downside is that Quaxly and Dot weren’t together in this episode. It’s a shame because I wanted to see them bond. I get that she has to fulfill her role as Nidothing for Yuno’s issue.

Yuno, who’s Yunorin, is the character of the day and she’s really cute. I really like her personality a lot; she’s bubbly and energetic. She loves her female Oinkologne, Twirls (Kuru-chan), a lot too. I’m glad that Liko, who wants to be a Trainer who understands Pokemon’s feelings, gave solid advice to her, which lead her to asking Twirls to talk about her worries to her. Yuno cares so much about Twirls, that she’s willing to ask her childhood friend Renta to partner up with her because Twirls likes Prince. There are also hints that Yuno has feelings for Renta. I’m glad that Twirls managed to stand up to Prince’s arrogant attitude and attacked him when he sprayed mud on Quaxly.

For me, the romance subplot in Pokemon can be a bit hit or miss. What about this episode? Honestly, I think this is fine. Kids are kids, so they can either be honest or dishonest about their feelings. I do like that the issues with Yuno and her hinted crush on Renta are resolved without much intervention from third parties. Kids resolve their issues in their own ways; I liked that aspect. They don’t have to gain ten levels in maturity to resolve romantic issues. Emotions are a fickle thing, after all. While Renta was a bit of a jerk, I’m glad that it didn’t escalate into something worse and that he did come around and accept her in the end.

Poor Dot; she got roped into being cupid now. Overall, I really liked this episode in that it gave the kids a lot of spotlight. I’d love to see another episode where it’s just the kids doing things without the need of adult intervention. How about you? Would you like to see another episode similar to this where it’s just Liko, Roy and Dot helping people and Pokemon?

Meets the minimum requirements for a Comic Submission, a clean sketch with 3 separate panels. (The colored backgrounds and color is nice to add to the gift, but is not necessary for the Comic minimum.)

Includes the character for whom the gift is for. (Including your own character is not required, but is highly encouraged!)

Shows the delivery of the gift as well as its opening by the recipient. (NOTE: While the text after is not required for the minimum, it makes the gift feel more personal!)

Leaves room for interaction should the recipient decide to do so. (Doing so is not required, and only further personalizes the gift and event between users and characters!)

And of course, it follows the spirit of Star Sending!

While the Sprigatito was left stunned, Flan took the opportunity to reach into the gift box and take out the toy in full. Once out, she floated over the Jolteon toy's head and pushed it back into a different, purple box, then closed the lid back over it. Flan motioned to a golden turn handle rested on the side of the toy box.

Painted-on graphics of yellow thunderbolts and stars accompanied the outside of the box. White fluffy clouds surround the top of the box while the lid itself had an illustration of a smiling goofy face, the same one the Jolteon inside was wearing.

Flan made sure the lid was shut tight before pushing it back towards Prince with a smile.
