How would labyrinth au swk and mac interact with entanglement or honeymoon?

The mks probably discuss who's mentors are more frustrating as well sharing stories. Well labyrinthMK and Honeymoon MK do, entanglementMK is actively listening and talking about his adopted siblings since his swk and macs are a sort of combination of the other twos. All while the other two are hanging off his arms and shoulders cause I picture entanglmentMK being bigger then them.

ooo ok so i had to think about this cause labyrinth au swk and maq are pretty different to others. in all the story i have planned for labyrinths, they only just get to actually trusting each other again by the end, labyrinth shadowpeach is bites and fights and tense stare downs. a STARK contrast to how honeymoon au swk and maq are so loving, and entanglement swk and maq are so close

i feel like labyrinth swk and macaque would both be pretty appalled by how the others seem to have forgiven and forgotten all their bad history, labyrinth swk especially would be sus as HELL of it all.

and speaking of being sus, every single one of them is going to be horrified by the fact that labyrinth macaque is wearing LBDs symbol...

as for the mks:

Ohm nom - 🦈 (I have some news, I was doing some research on DnD species and found a humanoid shark species called Sharkin. I though yo! Thats fin-flipin awesome but um there is one paragraph that made me take a backturn. I highlighted the main bits "Sharkin fought with and hunted any sort of creature that looked either powerful or threatening to them, including dinosaurs and dragons, making them top predators inside and outside of water. They are hated by most if not all surface dwelling races, making them enemy number one to almost everyone. They are even hated and despised by dragons, since the first time they killed an adult red dragon. This was not a one time problem, and has caused a bitter rivalry between the Dragons and Sharkins. They favored the taste of dragon flesh, from that day onward it became the largest badge of honor available for a Sharkin to hunt and kill a dragon. This then henceforth became a great and mighty challenge, for a member of the Sharkin royal family to hunt and bag a dragon, the bigger the better. The royal family loved the taste of dragons so much they made it their most favored treat among all other delicacies of their people. They often form hunting parties specifically to hunt and bag a dragon for any special occasion or festival. This made any and all dragon absolutely despise Sharkin, for they looked at them as prey and dragons being the vain creatures they are hate them. A dragon that sees a Sharkin will immediate become enraged and will do whatever it can to kill and devour it." NOW reasonably i was quite frazzled and immedietly though about our lil Shark captain of our lil marine team, thats partnered, HAND in HAND with a Dragon Captain. But then another idea came to me, this Sharkin species, (despite how cool they are and i still love) are built on the sterotype that Shark are horrendous terrifying vicous, agreesive creature. When in reality Sharks are just fish puppies that could murder you if you pissed them off enough. So that got me thinking, what if due to rumours, shark hybrids were thought to be Dangerous and Hazordous species, due to horrendous strerotypes, and a movie, most were meant to be cool, but were misinterpited so badly that people started getting afriad of them and in turn, aggressive towards. This is mainly based on a real thing, Both the author of Jaws, Peter Benchley, and the director, Steven Spielberg, regret the negative impact the film had on shark populations and the perpetuation of shark stereotypes. So people think that the captains would naturally butt heads, due to sterotypes and rumours that nearly brought the two species to war. (Which was luckily debunked way before anything got violent and now both species are currently fighting against anything harmful towards the other. Creating the oddest but oddly wholesome cross-species relationships. ) Only to find out the two are bound by the hip. waz your take? *Administer Foreheads Kisses*)

Oh yeah, I know the jaws effect lol It's fascinating how fiction can influence reality and reality can influence fiction, sorry this took so long and is so rough, but I got hit with the InspirationTM in the middle of the night lol.

At first sight, the feelings you and the good captain had for each other could be considered tense professionalism at best and disdain at worst. It isn't a surprise why that is; the hate and suspicion running between your species is old and deep like the trenches. Dragons hardly want to be a shark's dinner, and a shark would rather not become soup.

Still, the peace between your species held, and so did the tense relationship between you two. To the others it looked like you never agreed; they've lost count how many times you and Price had spent hours arguing over battle plans. How you two would release all the anger you had in the ring, so much so you had to spar outside because the military didn't have the funds to fix the ring after every match. How you would bare your teeth and Price would snarl and growl at you at every little argument, thinly veiled insults flying like bullets out of your mouths.

What they didn't know was how softly Price would purr when you two laid in bed, how gently his claws traced your shark hide along your torso. Sprawled out over your chest like you're his mountain of golden coins, more a cat than a dragon really, Price is the picture perfect example of bliss.

"Comfortable huh?" You hum, carding your clawed fingers through his hair, taking the time to scratch around the base of his horns.

"Mhm," He hums, content blue eyes closing as he leans into your touch. "Finally a moment to ourselves." Price chuckles, nuzzling his head into your neck. He breathes in your scent with a happy sigh, sharp fangs nibbling on your throat, the comforting scent calming his mind.

"Uhuh," You chuckle in turn, "The boys sure know how to keep us on our toes." You grin and your hand slides down from his head to his back, even gentler there as you trace the scar where his wing used to be. His remaining wing stretches out, weakly shaking as if trying to stretch, before it falls back down to lay on the bed and hang off it.

Price shivers, a low sound rumbling from his chest. "Can't leave those muppets alone for a moment." He huffs. "Did you see MacTavish? The lad nearly lost his tail because of his toy." A soft growl slips past his lips, neither of you had been pleased when Soap's tail got caught on fire thanks to his explosive he swore was 'safe'. Price's tail curls around yours, and though your tail is too rigid to do the same, he can still feel you reciprocate in the way your tail tip wags like a dog's.

"He's your problem in the morning." Your words earn you a sharp nip at your throat, more of an admonishment than an actual threat. "Ow." You say, in revenge pinching his pudgy side.

"You deserve it." Price laughs, forked tongue licking up the stray drops of blood that leak down from where his teeth had cut your skin. Placing a hand on your chest Price rises just enough to catch your lips in a slow kiss. You can taste your blood on his tongue, along with cigar smoke and something inherently draconic that makes your mouth water for a bite of his flesh.

But his kisses are enough to quench your hunger, gun calloused hands holding your head still so he can pepper kisses along your brows and down your nose, on each cheek and down your jaw. There's no need to rush when the night is dark and the sun isn't ready to rise yet.

It's peaceful.

The door slams open, light and voices flooding in "Captains we need-" Johnny's voice pitters off as he takes in the sight, bright eyes glowing in the darkness "-you..."

Not so peaceful.

10 Best Black Sails Fics I Read in 2023

In honor of Black Sails' 10th anniversary, here's a list of my top 10 favorite Black Sails fics I read in 2023, in order from shortest to longest. Most Black Sails fic rec posts I've seen are now around 2 or 3 years old (though not all, bless @jaynovz and your #jay's esoteric rec lists tag) so nearly half of the recs in this list spotlight newer fics. It's amazing to see fantastic fics still being written and updated years after the show ended - y'all are keeping this fandom alive!

I didn't read that much Black Sails fic this year, comparatively speaking, so I'm sure there's plenty of newer gems that I missed. All the fics in this rec list are Silverflint unless otherwise stated.

1 - Gone To Port Royal by Apetslife (G, 3k) - a delightful oneshot from Gates' POV where they all go to a pirate afterlife. every scene is perfect. endlessly re-readable and never fails to make me smile.

Definition of Valhalla 1: the great hall in Norse mythology where heroes slain in battle are received 2 : a place of honor, glory, or happiness: heaven

2 - i’ll be seeing you by youatemytailor/@annevbonny (NR, 19k) - this is THEE post-canon Silverflint reunion fic. the anguish, the rage, the quiet jokes, the tenderness, it's all devastatingly in-character. particularly the chapter 5 climactic unspooling leaves me in awe upon every reread.

Silver is out of his chair and across the room before he knows it. He has a grip on the barkeep’s shirt before he knows it, and he’s pulling him up, hauling him eye-level, only to head-butt him to the ground again. The barkeep’s mouth is thrown open in a wail, but there’s no sound, Silver thinks, no sound at all, save for the blood rushing in his ears as he looks at the other man on the ground, watches him roll to his side with a groan. Flint, Silver thinks, and nothing else. It beats around the knife in his gut like a drum. Flint. And then Flint is looking at him.

3 - The Dark Lord Proprietor by Amiril/@runawaymarbles (M, 19k, Silverflintham) - a fuckin hysterical supervillain AU. Thomas has amnesia, Flint is pining, Silver tries to get them back together. what could go wrong? could not stop cackling.

A year ago, James Flint was in a stable relationship and was within spitting distance of taking over London. Now he’s single, with a dubiously loyal henchman, a lairmate determined to learn his every weakness, and a Secret Past with the new supervillain on the scene. And thanks to a new government program, it’s all a race to the bottom.

4 - the cross dimensional nassau bar of getting izzy hands laid by FortinbrasFTW/@fortinbrasftw (E, 19k ~WIP~, Flint/OFMD Izzy Hands) - a Black Sails OFMD Flint/Izzy Hands crossover. the very best kind of smut-as-character study. funny, gripping, and endlessly re-readable.

The first thing Izzy realizes is he looks absolutely fucking furious — which yeah, alright, fair enough. He’s got shorter ginger hair. A beard like Izzy’s but kept neater. Earrings like Izzy’s but worn simpler. Bleeding like Izzy but, well, maybe a bit less. And he’s handsome. Izzy realizes it suddenly and slowly somehow all at once. Bit like a bloody painting even. The kind you saw up on walls in rich folk’s houses. Only, well, no painting had eyes like that, did it? You’d have to be mad to keep a painting with eyes like that in your home. They were bright and clear and looked — honest-to-fucking-Christ — ready to set the whole damned world on fire. Izzy's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night takes an interesting turn thanks to a completely different sort of pirate captain.

5 - frail and fragile bars by Ajaxthegreat/@francisthegreat (E, 21k) - Silver realizes, post-shark date, that he's in love with Flint. an instant, iconic fave fic. SO many delicious scenes and quotes that live rent free in my head. just read it, you won't regret it.

“I think you fuck,” Silver says. By which he means, with great intent: I think you are human. I know you are human. I see you.

6 - the whole estate of mortal man by Amiril/@runawaymarbles (T, 43k) - Creature Silver AU where he'll grant wishes in exchange for souls. first read this fic in 2020 and cried. reread it this year and cried again. the nature of the AU intersects so cleverly with Black Sails' themes, and the end result is devastating.

Silver has a limited memory, an unlimited lifespan, and a need for human souls. He spends months trying to buy Flint’s.

7 - our feast is but beginning by x_etoile_x/@etoilesombre (E, 55k) - Flint teaches season 1 Silver how to cook. they're definitely not dating. no, really. this writer writes dialogue so in-character that it cuts like a knife. features sensual cooking, Flint being a queer mentor for Silver, fun genderfuckery, and Them Being Real Tender.

Flint should walk away. Silver can figure out how to feed the men, it isn’t his problem. But roasting a pig is so easy, and when was the last time he had a hand in creating something rather than destroying it? Anyway, what else is he doing, with Billy taking the crew in hand with such annoying competency? He absolutely does not think about why he is reluctant for this interaction with Silver to end. “Go get another pig,” he says before he can reconsider. “Do exactly as I say.”

8 - With Strange Aeons by Amiril/@runawaymarbles (M, 60k, Silverflint + Flinthamilton + Jackanne) - Came for the Silverflint, stayed for the Silverflint but also for holy fuck Jack and Anne are sent to Savannah and break out of there with Thomas to battle literal Cthulhu. How can you NOT read this. I don't typically read Flinthamilton, but by god Thomas is amazing in this.

After the disappearance and presumed death of Captain Flint and Long John Silver, Max smuggles Jack and Anne to Oglethorpe’s plantation. Thomas learns that not only do the three of them have a friend in common, but he is not the only one whose dreams are haunted by a strange city and a terrifying name. Meanwhile, Flint and Silver try to escape an island trapped in time, impossibly built and impossibly old. Along the way they’re forced question reality, each other, and themselves. And in his house in R’lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.

9 - The Salt and the Sea by x_etoile_x/@etoilesombre (E, 60k) - a between season 2 and 3 recovery fic. i still remembered months after reading that chapter 4 in particular left me undone. a harrowing journey into the ruins of post-leg loss Silver's mind, plus exquisite hurt/comfort.

John Silver was always able to make the best of a situation. If this particular situation had started to feel complicated, well, a vast fortune ought to prove clarifying. Whatever he might have imagined he’d seen in Flint, the reality was they had used each other. And he had been set to walk away on top. Except now he couldn’t. Now he was trapped.

10 - the straight walk home by vowelinthug/@vowel-in-thug (E, 73k, Silverflint + Jackanne + Maxanne + Billy/Vane) - A western AU and one of the best long fics in the fandom. Excellent comedy, amazing AU twists on our favorite characters, found family vibes, nail-biting action, and a fucking fantastic climax. Also, I can't believe this fic got me invested in Billy/Vane.

Let me tell you a story, about a vaquero named Vasquez...

Torrent! I realized he’s the king of the ShapeWings, huh

Anyways I’m changing his backstory, he left Pontalo during the Royal HydroWing Massacre. He was originally a royal guard, (I was going to make him a royal but then Dolphin and Tiger Shark would be… related…) and after the tribe went into chaos over the massacre, he fled to Pyrrhia, posing as a SeaWing.

He meets Paradox when she’s captured in the Sky Kingdom, and helps her and (some of, they werent all there) her friends escape. They spend time battling together, etc. and eventually fall in love with each other, and have three dragonets.

Seashell! The first to come out of her egg.

Honestly I originally wanted her to look more like a HydroWing, but I decided more ShapeWing aspects. She’s a very pretty blue-green <3

I didn’t know why she didn’t get bullied, only Dolphin, but I realized she would kick ass and beat the bullies up, lol, even if it was against the rules.

She’s a lesbian! Sadly she has no one yet, unlike her siblings.

Shapeshifter! The most like a ShapeWing. He’s in a relationship with Vampire Bat, which Paradox had strongly disapproved at first, but later came to change. She’s genderfluid and uses any pronouns.

Bat and Shapeshifter fought in the Dragon-Wolf War (kind of explained here) in the roleplay land.

Shark cage diving but things go horribly wrong when all of the fish scatter, leaving you all alone and staring out into the deep blue. You wonder if a shark might be nearby because most creatures can sense when bigger predators are lurking and so you glance around in search of it. When you look down, half expecting to see more ocean, you’re horrified to find a gigantic blue eye staring right back at you from the gloomy depths, horizontal pupil perfectly fixated on your frozen form. (yes yes giant octo-mer azul hours)

Death game/battle royal with the Housewardens.

Apocalypse au where Twisted Wonderland is overrun by Overblots and NRC is a safe haven for those who haven’t succumbed to the blot. You find yourself taking shelter there after your friend Grim turned into something terrifying and monstrous and you’re hoping to find some answers or a cure at NRC. The Housewardens are skeptical of your arrival, but they welcome you nonetheless. Little do you know they’re all infected with the blot (except Kalim) and the more time they spend with you the deeper into insanity they fall. You’ll bring out the worst in them if you keep acting so helpless. <3

Kalim, who is your close friend, has become so very good at coercing you into doing things with him. Nervous about late-night magic carpet rides? Don’t worry! It’s completely safe and fun! Worried that his kisses linger too long? He’s just being friendly! Fearful of the fact that Kalim genuinely can’t see his actions as wrong and that you’re uncertain if he’ll ever understand how bad he can get when you tell him you don’t want to spend a life with him after graduation? Oh, that breaks his heart! You can’t just do that to him. He can provide for you and give you everything you could ever want. But no one’s ever taught Kalim that you can’t buy love with materialism, but oh does he certainly try. And when that doesn’t work, you’ll find yourself under a certain someone’s hypnotic command, slowly but surely conditioned into loving Kalim.

Idia’s not sure when it happened or how it’s gotten to this point, but for the first time in his life he’s certain that he’s found the one. You’re not 2D; you’re real and tangible, just separated by some odd distance and a screen. He’s the first one to arrive at your livestreams and he stays until the very end. You respond to his comments and the short-lived conversations give him reason to keep going. And then he learns that you’ve got a significant other. And then he learns that you’ve been together for a while. And then he realizes that all of those sweet sentiments were hollow and cold lies. And then what was once pure love and adoration soon grows thorns and barbs, until it’s devolved into a hatred so cloying it’s practically filth incarnate. Idia realizes it’s insanity to get so frustrated over something out of his control, but he’s too far gone to dwell on that any longer. All it takes is some digging and he finds your address, and soon he’ll find you. And soon you’ll belong to him, and he’ll teach you that that normie scum you call a lover is not worth your precious gaze.

Riddle but he’s an evil, angry spirit (or demon) trapped in a porcelain doll you purchase from an estate sale. The poor thing is cracked and chipped in various places and you take him in to get fixed up. He’s very stunning, what with his Victorian attire and cold, stony countenance. You treat him with so much care and appreciation, and when night falls the room grows impossibly chilly and things begin to move. And Riddle realizes that you’re much nicer than the humans who beheaded him when he was alive. He thinks he likes you and he’s going to stay no matter what.

Vil obsessing over your relationship with Neige. At first he told himself he didn’t care, but when the two of you post cute couple pictures and fun selfies he can’t help scoffing. And yet the more time he spends looking at them, the more you draw his gaze and soon he’s no longer obsessing over the relationship and how detrimental it is to his status as number one. Now he just wants you. And luckily for him, social media is a weapon he wields well.

There are legends of a unique creature who dwells deep in the thorny woods of Briar Valley. As an avid monster hunter, you’re determined to find the truth in those legends, if such a thing exists. What you don’t expect is to be captured the moment you set foot in Malleus’s territory. Lucky for you, he intends to spare you for reasons you can’t begin to fathom.

Little Red Riding Hood au but with Leona hehe!! Instead of going to meet grandmother, you’re meeting your lover. When you arrive to their dwelling, you’re horrified at the sharp, acrid smell of blood and the sight of mangled gore. And standing above the corpse, inspecting his blood-stained hands, is a beastman you’ve never met before. But he’s certainly had his eye on you for quite some time now. He’s given you your freedom for as long as his patience could hold out, but now it’s time for him to claim his herbivore.

Camboy Azul who always looks like your newest crush during his streams. :) You’re not even sure what he looks like or how he truly sounds. He’s like a chameleon, always changing himself to fit some image you find pleasing. It’s good that you can’t see his true appearance. It’ll make it all the more easier when he takes you for himself. Or alternatively, Azul doing everything he can to change himself to fit your tastes, to the point where it borderlines madness.

Au where Leland wins the battle and locks all three princesses up. Maria in a tower so high not even her birds could reach her, Lorena in the middle of a lake that she can't fight her way out of, because lake, and I haven't decided on Gwen's prison, but something underground.

But anyways, the CPC go to try and rescue them. In the moat around Lorena there's a giant blue sea monster big enough that it barely fits in the lake (it's quality of life is not that good) that's shaped like an eel with mote fins, guarding Maria is a red dragon that is bound to the tower with an illusion chain that it could easily break but decides not too for some reason, and Gwen was trapped by an armie of the undead, lead by one undead dude who looked kinda like the litch from Adventure Time.

In case you didn't guess it, these are Leland's sons. He cursed all three of them into being horrible beasts who only exist to keep the princesses trapped. For the two older brothers, their beasts had way smaller brains than humans, so they couldn't even understand the situation they were in. They're just two monsters that have strange memories. And from these memories sprouts fear. And so, Blaine and Lance are both turned into thoughtless monsters consumed by their respective fears. Until the CPC comes and gets a witch to uncurse them. First, they had to confront both about their fear and motive from guarding the princess. For Lance it's feeling the need to protect her from anything that might hurt her, and for Blaine it's mind-crippling fear of Leland. It turns out Leland royally screwed with them, however, so the cures would only be partial. Blaine's dragon-ness was derived more closely from his appearance than other transformation spells and so the spell couldn't be completely ripped away from his appearance. (Essentially, transformation spells are kind of like playdough. The original form is blue and the transformation is red. Usually these are separate and can be switched between, which is why most transformation spells can be cured, but sometimes some of the blue gets pulled make red, and it makes the two permanently linked. This is what happened with Monica's curse, and what is now happening with Blaine's) so Blaine still has a dragon tail, yellow where the white should be in his eyes, giant horns, and fire when he breathes out of his mouth or talks.

Lance, on the other hand, didn't have the problem. In fact, he could shift into humanity and into partial sea monstertude painlessly and at will. There were two problems, however. One, his brain could never completely shift back to humanity. He a sea monster capable of complex thought, not a human. Whenever Lance is human, it causes him extreme dysphoria. His human Blaine is just barely there enough to control his limbs decently, but his sea monster brain thinks that he shouldn't have limbs at all. One time the dysphoria got so bad he snuck outside and slept in a sleeping bag as an equivalent to a dysphoria hoodie. The CPC soon got him one of those shark blanket things that you can stick your whole body into for his birthday. The second issue was that Lance still counted as a sea creature. He needed moisture every so often, or he'd die. The more human he was, the more moisture he'd need. This was actually not much, no matter how human he was, but his body started freaking out long before it was even necessary. After only a couple of hours of full human form, his skin would start to feel dry and flaky, and his throat was sting, and his lips were dry, and he felt like he had been in a desert only drinking sand for the last three days. Of course, these symptoms didn't actually cause any harm to his body, they were just unbearably painful, so Lance tries to go partial sea monster, with a long blue tail shaped kind of like a whip, fish eyes, and a significantly thinner body shape.

And then there was Frederick. He had gone against Leland and ruined everything. Leland had assumed that cursing his sons into beasts had put them out of their misery, at least, so he figured he wouldn't give Frederick the pleasure. When the CPC found Frederick, he was on the ground, shaking. His flesh seemed to be rotting away in some places. His hands were only bones, and the same was true for one half of his face. They had expected some monster, but when Frederick shot up, but immediately winced. Cold mist shot out from his mouth as he spoke, greeting the club. He stuttered and his voice cracked. He was in pain. The CPC had managed to bring him, along with Gwen, back out to the witch. Turns out, he was just undead now, and nobody could do anything about it without making him regular dead. But there were some things he could do to make it suck significantly less. There were special bandages he used to hide his nerves, and couldn't scrub himself while he bathed anymore because that'd cause skin to fall off. It'd mainly just give him a heart attack and make more never to cover, but they still decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Okay, I made a post awhile ago about making a Foamstars Splatoon AU, so I’m gonna share some ideas I have about that!

Also disclaimer - I like splatoon and I am using this as an opportunity to basically make some OCs and play around in the Splatoon Universe using Foamstars as inspiration at best. I like the designs and some of the kooky ideas in Foamstars, but I am not a fan nor have I played it. I don’t have any intention to play it, I honestly think it doesn’t look very good.

Okay? Okay!

Setting - Wash Vegas

First off, the setting isn’t Bath Vegas (the canon name) but Wash Vegas. It’s a city somewhat far away from the events of the main Splatoon games, but still located in Inkadia. This city is full of rich people, and is a mashed combo of Silicon Valley and Las Vegas. It’s where the rich and elite live, investing in technologies to make a business from and partying it up at night.

After Turf Wars became a massive thing among the youth, a new kind of performative sport also started cropping up in this city- Foam Battles. Instead of a team sport, it’s more like a death match pro-wrestling. Instead of gaining points from inking turf, it’s by how many splats you get in a limited time (with different battles having different gimmicks), with the battles switching between team based objectives and all out battle royale.

The participants in these Foam Battles are the Foamstars, who craft a persona around themselves and unique weapon to each. These weapons can convert the natural ink from Inklings and Octolings into foam-like substance which can still splat their opponents but also change the environment they’re playing on by making walls and ramps, and destroying it again with their specials.

Now… this sport, despite its differences, is seen as a rich person rip off of turf wars so the Foamstars aren’t there for fun or challenge but to gain clout and make connections among the elite. So they’re basically influencers but they fight eachother, and even if the games aren’t technically meant to be rigged they often are so the favourites win more.

Characters

I’m going to give a short description of each AU character along with an image of the actual Foamstar character webpage from Square Enix for an idea of who I’m talking about since I doubt anyone here knows who each character is (ignore the bubble beastie stuff that’s gonna be a whole thing and a WIP). Also there’s surprisingly very little info on their personalities on the website, so I’m pretty much flying solo here and I have no idea what they’re actually like in-game lol.

Soa

(Just one letter away from “Soap”, real creative.) So this is Soa, her stage name being Bubbles Blobba. She is an amateur inkling idol, among many trying to make it in Wash Vegas, but has been given a new chance in this gig of being a Foamstar.

Soa is very naive though, the classic “wide eyed newbie trying to make it in the cut-throat entertainment world”. She is bubbly and energetic, and is willing to make friends with almost anyone. But that Optimism is often taken advantage of, she didn’t even know what a Foam Battle was when she signed up and just went along with it. Her genuine spirit and great singing voice has made her quite a few fans already though, so she’s got a real shot at fame.

Her weapon is a modified dualies, shooting bubbles of foam, with her special being a variation on Baller. She is light on her feet and nimble, and is an expert at dodge rolling, but often gets in over her head during battles.

Frenzy

Next is Frenzy Hohojiro, known as Agito online, and his basic backstory is similar to his Foamstar one - He’s a pro-gamer trying to prove himself outside of gaming. He is an octoling hailing from the Splatlands, and was even apart of the well-known Hohojiro clan - making him Shiver’s older brother (their sibling dynamic is very much spiting one another out of love).

The Hohojiro Clan is a long line of Shark riders and warriors, however Frenzy didn’t really care for all that and was much more enamoured with gaming and eventually left his family to peruse it - gaining massive success much to his family’s chagrin. He is very competitive and doesn’t back down to a challenge, wanting to dominate the Foam Battle leagues to prove himself, so his shark has become somewhat neglected.

His main weapon is a modified rapid blaster, with his special being a version of Reef Slider. He isn’t great at dodging but is very skilled in on-the-fly tactics.

Tonix

Tonix here is an inkling born and raised in the Wash Vegas science division, being home schooled by her father who is a brilliant scientist (Tonix is her nickname). She lives and breathes science of almost all kinds, gaining a very… odd personality as a result. She is very energetic, seeming almost manic at times, and has severely neglected social skills from her life among socially awkward scientists.

She also has a bad habit of doing experiments on her friends without asking, or on herself, seeing herself as a genius and not really caring about consequences. This attitude is why she has a state of the art prosthetic leg, as after an experiment gone wrong she jumped at the chance to make her own leg. She’s also Bioluminescent - seemingly no one knows why, not even Tonix herself.

Her weapon is a modified Brella, with her special being a powered-up auto bomb which seeks out other players and explodes. She made them herself, of course.

Jet Justice

Jet Octopada, known widely by some as Jet Justice, is a former Octarian soldier from Octo Canyon - one of many defectors after the infamous Calamari Inkantation was played. He is now a civilian hero in Wash Vegas, using his military experience, and wanted to be a force for change which brought him to Foam Battles.

He is kindhearted and genuine guy, but not naive like Soa or even Frenzy is. He sees the system is corrupt and wishes to use his position to advocate for better conditions for the lower class workers in the city, and maybe even steer it towards something better. (This leads him to take Soa and Frenzy under his wing, as he sees they’re good kids deep down.)

His weapon is a modified blaster, and his modified special is splashdown. He is a force to be reckoned with in foam battles, able to counteract even the worst cheating or bias using his own skill. However, because he is so caring of others he will sometimes help his opponents as well by accident,

Navie South

(Okay I basically had to change Pen Gwyn to be a different character because global warming isn’t really a thing in the Splatoon world anymore, since they use Zapfish and power eggs for energy rather than fossil fuels.) (also her name in Foamstars has been changed to Penny Gwyn, these are old screenshots lol)

Navie South is an Octarian, like Jet, but didn’t defect from the army. She lost her honour and status after she failed to stop the agent who ended up taking the Great Zapfish back, so she’s on a quest to correct her mistake outside of Octavio’s knowledge. She’s participating in Foam Battles to gain connections among the elite, her fans think her military outfit and personality is an act.

She is disgusted by basically everyone, seeing the inklings as enemies and the octarians as traitors. She is ruthless in Foam Battles, having been one of the top decorated soldiers in the Octarian army, and will do anything to win.

Her weapon is a modified shooter, specifically an splattershot with a rapid fire rate, and her special is a modified curling bomb which slides forwards and explodes.

Rave

One of the younger Foamstars, he is a giant squid inkling whose family came from the Deep Sea Metro. Rave Breaker isn’t his real name, but he insists everyone call him Rave Breaker since it’s cooler.

Basically, he’s a teen who heard about “sanitization” during his time in the deep, but never actually learnt what it meant… which is why he made his whole persona around ‘cleaning the filth from this city’ and ‘ending all the parties’ as an edgy anti-hero/villain. His fans love it though.

He’s really a sweet guy, a cinnamon roll if you will, who studies and works hard and doesn’t want to let his family down after they funded his career into being a Foamstar - unaware that his family’s business has made them super rich, and his parents are gaslighting him into thinking they’re only scraping by to drain his own money. He needs a better support system.

He’s also a very skilled mechanic and fighter. Due to his skill and being very tall, people often assume he’s older than he is.

His weapon is a modified heavy splatling, and his special is a modified Inkstrike. He made both of them himself, and actually does repairs for other Foamstars if they ask since he’s more trustworthy than Tonix most of the time.

(I’ll admit, I have a strange fondness for this guy. He’s my edgy son.)

Vulgan Glacia

He’s old money from Inkopolis, an Octoling whose family fled Octo Valley generations ago. He’s snooty and arrogant, but polite and dignified. He his participating in Foam Battles for fun, and to promote his grandkid’s coffee house business since they don’t like him just dumping money on them.

He absolutely loves his kids and grandkids though, and will let you know even if you don’t ask. He has all their pictures in his wallet, and makes sure to know what they’re all doing. He used to have a wife who is now deceased, so he raised his kids all on his own and is a fantastic dad. (He’s also worried for Rave, his dad senses are tingling when Rave talks about his family, but isn’t particularly close to the boy.)

His weapon is a modified splatling, and his special is inkstorm which dissolves foam as it passes over.

Sweet Beak

The most mysterious Foamstar, the Inkling Sweet Beak acts as both the mascot, poster girl, and secret CRO for ‘Sweet Dreams’ - a candy and sweets brand whose products are massively popular in Wash Vegas. Sweet Beak herself acts as the promoter and mascot, while behind the scenes she’s a cut-throat CEO who will do anything to dominate her competition.

She doesn’t care for ethics or standards, only winning and power. She lives a double life, pretending to be an innocent and cute young girl in Foam Battles but dropping the act in private. She will cheat, lie, backstab, and punch her way to the top - never caring for who she hurts along the way. This persona also allows her to forge connections with higher ups of other companies, and to keep herself clean from any accusations that might be thrown the company’s way.

Her fans love her for her sweet and girly personality shown online, and for her sweets themed gear and weapons. Her main weapon is a Blaster, and her special is a foam themed big bubbler which will disperse foam when going through or popped.

Note: These characters were first made before Foamstars released, and since the website has barely any info on them, this isn’t reflective of their characters in-game. I might check that out on YouTube, but idk right now.

Plot/Story

Right now this is the most unfinished part, but here’s the basics.

Originally, Foam Battles were just done for fun, but recently it’s been found the foam weapons are very effective at fighting monsters called ‘Bubble Beasties’. These monsters started appearing with no warning from an old waste dump outside the city, and now it’s overrun with these creatures and they have been attacking parts of Wash Vegas for unknown reasons.

Our main characters get caught up in one of these attacks during a game of battle royale between these 8 (there are more Foamstars than just these guys in the world) and they managed to stop the attack. So the head of local the Wash Vegas Defence Force recruited/drafted them to fight these attacks when they pop up, and now they’re all having to learn to get along.

TLDR: The plot is basically celebrity and entertainment drama, mixed in with some superhero action.

Once they both gained confidence during battle, Eevee signaled to Selena to throw at Leaf Stone, letting her evolve into Leafeon. As Leafeon, she gains resistance to Electric-Types, making it a contrast to Selena’s family of Electric-Types specialists. (It used the be Sylveon because it is a cute Pokémon and Selena is very cute (according to Ian)).

Clashing Canon!

The city of Vale begins it's daily, or rather nightly, shift as the sun sets behind the towering skyscrapers. Children run inside for supper before going to bed, resting for another day of school. Employees of various businesses make their way from work to either home, or the local bar. Said bar owners and employees open their doors to the awaiting public, ready for the ritual of drink, pay, leave to begin.

In one of these bars, a man sips at his glass as he reads the paper. Stocks rise and fall, sports team win or lose, and politicians do what they do best; lie, cheat, and steal. He chuckled at the familiarity of the ideal. Setting down his glass, he shifts his hands to drag on his cigar, puffing smoke into the paper's most interesting story.

"Royal Line Restored?"

"Could the King of Vale's Descendants Walk Among Us?"

Roman: People will believe anything these days. All it takes is one little rumor, and people think you're the king of the world. Almost enough to make you laugh, huh, Neo?

Neo: (Filing her nails)

Roman: To be honest, I don't care if the kid actually knew my sister. I didn't know she was dead until last week, and I still don't care!

Neo: (Raises her brow)

Roman: Listen, last I heard from anyone in the Torchwick family, my old man died after pissing off the wrong card shark. What happened to my sister isn't any of my business.

Neo: (Rolls her eyes)

Roman: Exactly! But if playing along with this game gets us off scott free? Who am I to say no? Speaking of, did you get what I asked?

Neo: (Reaches under her, Materializes her scroll)

Cinder: If you have time to listen to rumors, then you have time to listen to our plan.

Emerald: Another change, ma'am?

Cinder: Indeed. We'll have revise our approach. We can no longer trust the blueprints we gathered from Atlas, so the robot will have to be exposed a different way. More subtle, less obvious.

Mercury: Uh huh, and this has nothing to do with the rumors?

Cinder: I'll admit, there is merit to spreading rumors and using heresay. If we can get the population to believe she's not human we can break Atlas' trust with the public.

Mercury: And this has nothing to do with the rumor Jaune Arc is an Atlas battle android designed to protect Atlas, but went rogue and now thinks he's human?

Cinder: Of course not. Rumors hold no sway over my mind.

Mercury: I think the, "Eugenics in Robotics" book says differently.

Cinder: (Hides book, Blushing) D-Don't think! Obey!

Jaune: Ugh! Finally! (Falls into his bed) They're finally gone!

Nora: Aw, and I didn't get their number.

Jaune: Another good thing about today.

Pyrrha: Jaune, if you don't mind me asking, why didn't you tell us your sisters were coming?

Jaune: Because they didn't tell me until they were already on their way. Them landing at Beacon was the first time I spoke to them in months!

Ren: When was the last time?

Jaune: Uh, probably after they already left home. They moved to start their dreams as wedding planners and dress designers.

Pyrrha: Are they any good?

Jaune: I can't speak for Vi, since I don't know anything about her wedding planning outside her binder, but Indie is pretty good. Check out this dress she made my future wedding. (Shows off his wedding dress)

Pyrrha: (Blushing) Oh my... I'm sure your bride will be very happy to wear it for her big day.

Jaune: Bride? This is my dress.

Pyrrha: What?

Jaune: Yeah, it's weird, I know, but it kind of grew on me the more I thought about it, y'know? (Gets up) I gotta go to the bathroom. (Steps in, Shuts the door)

Ren: So, what's the story now, Nora?

Nora: Hush, Ren! I'm instigating...

Ren: Investigating?

Blake: (Drops down) The Luna Tribe was notorious for many things, including their simple, yet beautiful dresses. Perhaps Jaune is nostalgic of them, and asked his sister to recreate them.

Pyrrha: The tribe that enslaved him? But why wear something from such a dark time in his life?

Blake: Do you see that band around the waist? Only the elite of the tribe was permitted to wear this.

Ren: It's spite.

Pyrrha: It's brave!

Nora: IT'S PERFECT!

Jaune: What is? Oh, hey, Blake! When did you-? (Knock, Knock, Knock) I'll get it!

Ok had another fucking moment that came to me when I was daydreaming this one time and another AU popped inside my head.

Ok so mermaid AU x Pirate, BUT—

Mermaids are the same size as their fish genetic.

A angel fish mermaid is about the size of an infant.

A shark mermaid is the size of a boat, depending what Kind of shark it is.

Ok now, imagine with me:

Pirate Katsuki x Whale Shark mermaid Izuku

Baby whale sharks are about the size of a big koy fish so Izuku is about the size of a infant.

Katsuki and Izuku met at the dock, Baby Katsuki likes to spend his time splashing his feet into the ocean, dreaming one day he could be the most awesome pirate of all time.

This is where he met Izuku.

See, Izuku is really small compared to Inko rn coz he's a baby, so he got washed by the unforgiving waves in the middle of the ocean into the dock where Katsuki was.

Katsuki saw a passed out mermaid floating ashore and immediately ran to where it was.

No one has ever seen a whale shark mermaid up close before because they live in really deep water and all that.

So Katsuki was fascinated by his tail bcz hello? It has DOTS! It looks pretty! And it HAS DOTS!!!!

So when Izuku woke up, he panicked bcz he doesn't know where he is and there's a human that saw him so he cried.

Katsuki, confused by this, he asked why he was crying, they were both still too young to understand that humans and mermaids were supposed 'sworn enemies' (lmao) yet so Izuku told him that he was washed up into the waves and he Didn't know where his home is.

And hearing this, Katsuki asked if he knows which direction his home was, Izuku told him he was from the very very deep sea and that he didn't know where and he's scared to go alone.

And Katsuki, the brat that he is, decided to accompany the mermaid with a boat! Izuku was happy that Katsuki would come with him and bring him home!

Ofc next day, they meet up, (Katsuki snuck out lmao) and Katsuki has this tiny little boat that the other fishermen gave him from his birthday that he would use to come with Izuku.

So they set sail! Katsuki had forgotten to bring food so he was hungry, Izuku had an Idea!

He sometimes see these random circles that grows on trees near the beach and they would sometimes fall and float in the ocean, he also seen humans eat these kinds of things so he decided to look for it!

Katsuki ofc saw Izuku coming back with a coconut and he was delighted to eat it!

So it took 5 days for them to reach the center of the sea where everything is so deep. They got to know each other at that time!

Katsuki asked if this is where Izuku lives and Izuku heard a loud shout from below.

Low and behold, Inko rising to the surface where they both were, her eyes were puffy and when she saw Izuku, she immediately hugged her son.

Katsuki was amazed by how big Izuku's mom is, so that's why they lived in the middle of the ocean, they were really huge!!

Inko saw this little blonde human boy on a tiny boat and asked why was he here and Izuku exclaimed that he is Kacchan! (Coz he has sharp teeth and that's the closest he could pronounce his name) and that he helped Izuku crossed the ocean to find his home and that he was so brave and kind!

And Katsuki blushed at the compliments Deku gave him (that is ALSO the closest thing Katsuki can pronounce his name bcz of his human teeth too haha)

Inko was touch by this and thanked Katsuki profusely, giving him a little necklace with a tiny shell that could be use as a horn.

Inko told Katsuki that if he ever was in the middle of the ocean again or whatever, and wanted to meet them again, he just needs to blow the horn.

Katsuki was thrilled by this, he thanked Inko as well and promise to come back and meet Izuku again and Inko asked a bunch of other little mermaids to help Katsuki get back to where his home was in record time.

Izuku was a bit sad to see Kacchan go but he promised would come back! So he'll just have to wait till he hears the horn to know that Kacchan would be back!

Katsuki got back on land that afternoon (wow the tiny mermaids were really quick)

And he gotten back to his parents, he told them that he told them what happened had why he was gone for 5 days.

They were horrified by this bcz mermaids drown humans whenever they could and that Katsuki was with one for 5 days made them feel sick.

Katsuki was not allowed to go near the ocean from then on.

Ofc Katsuki threw a fit bcz how on earth is he gonna visit Deku?!?

Mitsuki screamed and slapped him on his head and told him that he would not go outside and see the ocean at all.

Cue sad 10 years of waiting (they were 4)

The time finally came where Katsuki snapped and sneaked out of the house once more and leave his parents for good.

He decided to go to another city to start his journey of becoming the most well known pirates of all time!

He had became the most notorious pirate of all time, in the eyes of the government, he was a threat to them, but to the eyes of the people who had met his crew, they were heroes.

They give out money that they stole from corrupted kings and queens' ships all around the world. they had the most biggest ship called 'Queen Explosion Murder' (bcz why NOT LMAO) and that they had the most advance equipment in the sea (ft. Hatsumei lmao)

His crew (class 1-A minus mineta, plus Shinsou, Hatsumei bby Eri, bby Kouta and bby Katsuma and Mahoro) was the most powerful and skilled people he knew, they were like family to him. (Not that he'd admit it out loud)

He still kept the necklace, he had forgotten what purpose it had, but he know it was something special.

One day they were attacked by the Royal ship, it was the most intense battle they had yet. Most of his family crewmates were already injured and passed out, the kids were crying alot, they were loosing.

Then he suddenly blew the horn.

There was a loud spash from the side and both of their ships rocked.

One of the men from the other ships looked below and saw big glowing green eyes. Then the Royal ship was grabbed by very big hands and suddenly brought down into the depts of the sea. Sinking everyone in it.

Katsuki was shocked, what just happened???

Then there was another loud splash once again, something was rising from the water, it looks big, the creature was looming over the ship, he looked up to see the creature and saw—

"Deku...?"

It looked at Katsuki with big watering eyes.

"Kacchan.."

And the next thing he knew, he was being lifted by some big ass arms and being suffocated by a big ass hug.

(lmao they REUNITED!)

Izuku asked why did he called now and Katsuki told him about what had happened to him all this time. Katsuki's crew was hella shocked to see their captain talking to a big ass Mermaid. The kids were in awe, they never seen a real life mermaid before, and Izuku laughed coz their eyes reminded him of Katsuki's when they first met.

Katsuki blushed and denied it and Izuku responded playfully.

It was so weird to all of them to see their captain smiling? And joking around?? With a fish??? Like old friends???? Holy shit???

And after that, they had a new member! Izuku comes along with their adventures now! And the whole romance and drama for the crew to enjoy too!

[fanfic] Invitations

Nasch’s attention flickered from the tiny girl seated on the throne to his left hand to the door, then over to the knight who stood to his right.

“Everything’s working fine,” Durbe told him, voice pitched low to avoid being heard by anyone who wasn’t the King. “All of the invitations were delivered properly.”

Nasch’s eyebrows narrowed ever so faintly. “Including the one to Vector?”

“Yes,” Durbe nodded. He’d been in charge of seeing to that particular invitation, while common heralds and messengers managed the others. The effects of their work showed here and now.

As did the effects of his – there wasn’t any sign of Vector anywhere, nor had any of the guards posted sent a warning of any sort. Perhaps the false celebrations they’d set up elsewhere would be enough to keep him distracted.

Tiny Princess Isis – a child Nasch and Merag found after a harsh battle in a distant land and brought back with them – sat on the finely carved throne, her hands resting on her lap, glancing nervously about. This party celebrated her official adoption by Nasch and Merag, bringing her into their family.

Neither of them were inclined to marriage or offspring. Merag had pledged herself to the God of the Ocean and while it wasn't forbidden for her to wed if she’d met someone, everyone knew that the odds of her meeting someone she’d choose were slim to non-existence. Nasch had other reasons for not wedding – reasons that Durbe knew very well indeed.

Almost all of the guests had arrived. Emperor Leonius arrived early, along with his favorite gladiator Alit. Rumors ran that Alit was far more to him than a mere gladiator – a common arena fighter wouldn’t be brought along on this sort of trip. Nasch didn’t question. It wasn’t as if he didn’t know the teasing allure of those who weren’t born to a royal title.

Someone new entered the chamber – two someones, in fact. Nasch glanced up to see who it was. Durbe knew them at once, of course.

“Mizael!” Durbe moved over, smiling. Nasch recognized the name as that of a famous dragon tamer who protected a land to the north and east. Someone he didn’t know stood next to Mizael, glancing around, a bit uncomfortable here. “Who is your friend?”

“This is Ryou,” Mizael said, nodding towards him. “We met a few months ago. I thought he would enjoy visiting here too.”

The stranger nodded politely. “It’s as lovely as I was told.”

After a few more words, Mizael and Ryou moved on, while Durbe returned to his position at Nasch’s right hand. He didn’t move away from it except to greet another famous guest, a general who’d won great acclaim on the battlefield and appeared here with his newly wed wife, an accomplished singer and musician. Not every guest deserved to be greeted by either the King or his Knight personally.

Nasch considered having a meal brought. It had been a very long day and his stomach rumbled. He started to gesture for one of the servants, when a noise came from the entryway, and Durbe stiffened at once.

“He wasn’t invited,” Durbe muttered. Nasch’s eyes narrowed as whoever it was moved closer.

“Who is it?” He demanded to know. Durbe glanced back at him.

“Do you remember the sorcerer Arclight?” the knight asked, his attention returning to the approaching figure. Nasch nodded; he’d heard many tales of the sorcerer and his three sons. “That’s Thomas, the middle son. I know no one invited him. But he’s here.”

Nasch’s lips thinned at that. It looked as if he wasn't going to be getting his dinner as soon as he hoped he would be. But he wasn’t going to allow anyone to ruin tonight’s celebration. He could see Merag also glaring at the approaching sorcerer – or whatever he was.

“Does he share his father's mage-talents?” Nasch asked. He’d heard a few things about how the youngest of the three was a skilled swordsman and the eldest took after his father in mage-craft, but not very much about what this middle child could do.

“He’s a fire-mage,” Durbe murmured. “Very talented with them, too.”

Fire-mages were rare and hadn’t appeared often in his realm, which was far more dedicated to the ways of water magic than anything else.

“What are you doing here, Thomas?” Merag asked, standing next to Iris and glowering with all the fury of the ocean at the newcomer.

The fire-mage laughed, tossing his mane of red and gold hair, sunlight glinting off of it. “Well, hello, there, Merag.” His eyes glittered hungrily. “I suppose I should have expected to see you here.”

“Considering this is my realm too, yes,” Merag snapped back. “No answer me. You weren’t invited.”

“What does that have to do with it?” Thomas crossed his arms over his chest. “You invited all of them.” He waved one hand to where Emperor Leonius and Alit, Mizael and Ryou, General Gilag and Sanagi, and everyone else. “So why can’t I show up if I want to?” He smirked. “Not enough golden plates to eat off of?”

“We don't’ eat off of gold,” Merag replied flatly. “You weren’t invited because no one wanted you here.”

Silence fell. Thomas’s lips thinned before he looked past her to where Nasch began to rise to his feet.

“Well, if it isn’t His Majesty.” Thomas smirked, waving one hand, tiny flames dancing on the tips of his fingers. Nasch tried to tell himself that the sight wasn’t attractive and failed rather miserably.

You have Durbe already. But there stood Thomas, blazing bright, with gleaming dark red eyes.

“What do you want here?” Nasch asked, fingers twitching. He knew his guards watched carefully; if Thomas made a move that he didn’t like, then he’d be a pincushion inside of a handful of seconds.

Thomas smiled. It was much like the smile of a shark. Normally Nasch liked those, but this gave off a different feeling.

“I’m here for the same reason as everyone else is.” Again he waved one flame-tipped hand. “This is a party. I even brought a gift for the new little princess there.”

Merag moved closer to Iris. It had been her idea to adopt the little girl, who now wrapped one hand around Merag’s, trembling. Nasch stood next to his sister, glaring sharply at him.

“What kind of gift are you talking about?”

“Why, just this.” Thomas twisted his hands and then held out a small gem to Iris. “This is a sunstone – a gemstone connected to the power of fire. It will always keep you warm, no matter how cold it is around you.”

“We don’t get cold weather here,” Merag said. “Why do you want to give her that?”

Nasch wondered the same thing. It never got that cold here. So what was he thinking about?

“She might not spend her entire life here,” Thomas pointed out, doing his level best to appear innocent, and not being very good at it. “But it also carries a powerful protective spell in general. You can throw it in the ocean if you don’t want it. But it’s hers – shouldn’t it be her decision if she takes it or not?”

Nasch glanced at Iris, whose attention focused on the sunstone. Thomas flicked his fingers again and now a silver chain hung from the gemstone. He offered it to her, and she reached for it slowly.

“Thank you, sir,” she murmured. “It’s beautiful.”

Thomas smiled. It was probably the most genuine expression that Nasch had ever seen on his face. “It’s yours, then. Slowly he moved forward. Nasch found himself tempted to alert the guards, but he didn’t. Maybe the fire-mage actually meant well. He was just an ass – it wasn’t as if Nasch himself wasn’t the same way sometimes.

He slid the chain over Iris’s neck, then stepped back, glancing at Nasch and Durbe. “I didn’t just bring presents for her.”

Again his hands flashed with fire that coalesced into two polished gemstones, both of them a reddish-brown, a great deal like Thomas's own eyes, along with flashes deep inside of red, orange, and gold. It reminded Nasch thoroughly of fire itself.

“I brought these for you two,” Thomas said. “They’re fire agate.” A twitch to his lips. “Would you like to know what these gems mean?”

Nasch started to open his mouth, but Durbe beat him to it. “They increase physical energy and stamina. Or so the stories say.” He rested one hand on Nasch’s shoulder, and Durbe suspected there was something more to those gems than just stamina.

“That they do,” Thomas agreed. “But I also added something else for them. When you want to see me, all you have to do is touch them and call my name.”

“Why would we want to see you?” Nasch wanted to know. None of the tension had faded since he’d entered the chamber.

“Oh, who knows. You might want to talk. Or something else.” Thomas smirked. “Now, I came all this way. I want something to eat. You do have refreshments, don’t you?”

Nasch crossed his arms. “I could use something myself.” And he would definitely want to make sure that Thomas still didn’t cause any trouble.

He wasn’t sure of where those gemstones vanished off to. Perhaps Thomas just made them disappear again. But perhaps it didn’t matter, as for the moment, the fire-mage seemed content to accept a plate of food and settle down to eat. Durbe and Nasch picked up their own food, while Merag had a couple of plates brought to her and Iris.

Thomas nibbled on one of the finger foods and sipped from his wine cup. “This is a very nice party,” he said. “Let me guess, you didn’t invite Vector either?”

Nasch didn’t question how Thomas knew Vector. Everyone knew Vector, whether they wanted to or not.

“Of course we sent him an invitation,” Durbe said, a quick smile over his lips. “It just didn’t invite him to this party.”

“Clever.” Thomas leaned backwards. “I’m surprised you didn’t try the same trick with me.”

“We didn’t know you’d even want to come,” Nasch admitted. The Arclight family had been considered for the guest list, but Merag hadn’t wanted to. Nasch suspected that she knew more about the scar on Thomas’s face than either of them were ever going to talk about.

Thomas rested one hand over his heart. “I should feel wounded. Why wouldn’t I want to come? Now, my brothers – Christopher is busy with Prince Kaito. I think they’re sending a present of their own. Michael is busy somewhere else. I couldn’t say where – he’s trying to collect some ancient treasure or something. His lips pursed. “I think he teamed up with the son of an adventurer. They’re probably going to be busy for a while.

He shrugged and nibbled more of his food. “But I wasn't doing anything and if you’d sent me the invitation I probably wouldn’t have bothered.” Again that fiery glint in his eyes and Nasch tried to avoid thinking about it. He knew very well he was doing a very bad job of it. “But you didn’t – so I did.”

Durbe took a deep drink of his own. “So you just showed up because you weren’t invited.”

“Yes.” Thomas admitted without a care. He tilted his head up. “I probably won’t stay long. Too wet around here.” He caught Nasch’s eye and grinned. “But you can always invite me back with those gemstones. They’ll only work if you both use them at the same time. I wouldn’t want to break the two of you – up.”

The pause between words had to have been deliberate. He licked his lips slowly, eyes still fastened on Nasch and burning with an intensity fit to evaporate the ocean. Nasch didn’t look away, not even when he felt Durbe’s hand closing around his.

He’s offering – is he? Nasch wanted to think he knew but this was the first time Thomas had ever stood face to face with him. Why would he make an offer like that? He couldn’t possibly mean it.

Durbe’s thoughts ran in the same direction. “You hardly know us. Why would you claim that?”

“Claim what?” Thomas needed a lot of practice if he were going to sound innocent but he certainly gave it a good attempt. “I said you could invite me back. What do you do with guests to your kingdom?” He waved both of his fire-tipped hands again. “Really.” He also tried to sound offended. He was much better at that.

Nasch refused to commit himself and concentrated on getting his dinner finished. The other party-goers ate as well, mingling and chatting amongst themselves. Nasch could hear a few whispers that seemed more or less wondering exactly what Thomas was up to. No one else dared challenge him, and Nasch wanted to believe they thought that he could handle the matter if necessary.

Once Thomas finished, he rose to his feet. “It’s time for me to go. But as I said, invite me back any time. Perhaps I could get used to your realm if I see it often enough.” He glanced to where Merag glowered towards him. “And a good day to you as well, Highness.”

In between one breath and the next, a column of fire erupted from his feet, and when it faded away, Thomas wasn’t there anymore. Nasch glanced at Durbe, who looked more than a little relieved at his departure.

“Later,” Durbe murmured. “After the party.”

Nasch agreed; this was something far better discussed behind closed doors. The party didn’t last much longer after that; everyone finished their food, bid Nasch, Merag, and Iris good night, and retired to their quarters. The celebrations would go on for another three days, and Nasch expected everyone would be exhausted by the end.

He hadn’t been in his room long before the expected quiet tapping came, and Durbe followed a breath afterward. He moved over to embrace his lover for a few seconds.

“Do you think he was serious?” Durbe wanted to know as they settled down on the bed. Nasch brushed his fingers through Durbe’s wind-roughened hair. He’d probably gone on a flight with Mach before coming over.

“I doubt it. But we can test him to find out if he is. He claimed he’d be a guest. Let’s show him what the real hospitality of the realm is.” Nasch smiled his own shark-like smile. “He’s a fire-mage. He should know it’s not wise to play with water or air either.”

Durbe regarded him for a few moments before he laughed. “You’re right.” He slid one arm around Nasch and pressed a kiss against the king’s lips. “But we can talk about that later, too.”

Nasch definitely agreed. Planning how to turn the tables on Thomas could wait until after he and Durbe relaxed enough to truly enjoy it.

On the table next to the bed, two fire agates gleamed.

UNDERTIDE - AU, where it is almost impossible to get out of the dungeon, since it is completely surrounded by water, and the exit is blocked with stones after the Royal incident.

It all starts with the same classic story and a short story where you, as observers, are given the main active conflict: people and monsters.It wasn't just magic, though. People became masters of the whole island, where the mountain was located. After the war, many years later - the monsters were forgotten, but the legend "about missing people" is alive in the hearts of local people and have a huge power that does not allow you to go close to a dangerous area. In fact, while people were created in the city and developed — the monsters are also not stood still, mastering his new home. Initially, the dungeon seemed to be a joy for the partially exterminated people, but later it presented them with new "surprises". Not the most pleasant, you might say. The dungeon is very huge and it took a long time to explore it. And, as I mentioned earlier, completely surrounded by water, which flows in huge waterfalls and goes into the very depths, not allowing the caves to flood, but!Floods. Monsters are faced not only with complete isolation from the world, but also with natural phenomena that bring misery to all people living underground. Unpleasant, of course. Initially, the flooding of the dungeon was a real hell, because the motley rows of creatures were noticeably thinned, but they allowed us to find a convenient hill where we could establish a "New Home".

Locations.

They have significantly changed and, unlike the original game, do not Shine with variety. Snow-capped firs in Snowdin have given way to flowering trees, the huge caves of Waterfall have become corridor-like, where colored murals are located, and the heat of Hotland has been reduced to river springs. The ruins are a place that has long been abandoned by monsters, where no one lives except those who have adapted to water life. There used to be an "Old House" here, but little remains of it. Most of the streets are flooded and it is impossible to get there. The house of Toriel still separates the human from the exit from the Ruins.House Toriel has the old name, despite the fact that the Queen herself no longer lives there. And, for the most part, she grew rare flowers there rather than live. Saltdin — instead of a snowy atmosphere-has acquired more pleasant and summer shades. Got its name because of the abundant amount of salt that remains after the flood in the dungeon, magically, for some reason, accumulating in this part of the Kingdom. "- Perhaps the reason is underground springs or a feature of the area that we have not yet studied properly " (C) Alphys Monsters live quite calmly in a small town, jokingly decorating houses with salt, which constantly has to be cleaned. After the water runs out, it only takes a week to clean up. Many people are already used to this, and therefore this process is more of a joke tradition. At the end of this event-in the bar Grillby gather all the residents of the town and celebrate the end. P.S. in the town can safely be monsters that can swim and live under water, and quite feel comfortable. Example: shark Sharkey. Waterfall - huge corridors decorated with legends. Here grow the usual echo flowers, the village of Temmie, streams flow and waterfalls pour. In one of the small corridors — there is a Sea stone. Its purpose is unknown for sure. It is also home to the Captain of the Marine Guard - Undyne Undyne has a very close relationship with Alphys and Papayrus: The former made her armor, and the latter is her squire and, almost, a full-fledged member of the Sea Guard.Creatures of Waterfall - best tolerate floods, as they are fully adapted to life on water, under water and near water. Help monsters from Saltdin, willingly offering their help and services. Waterland is the place where all the technological processes of the Dungeon take place. Here is the main lab, the Core is located, as well as, at the very end — the MTT hotel, where they broadcast the most important news. In General, the application is almost indistinguishable from the original, however, it is here that there is a huge whirlpool, which is the "core". Scientist V. D. Gaster - was able to curb this energy, making life easier for monsters. Near the whirlpool itself-there is a huge water mill, the creation of which took many years of work. However, the scientist was forgotten as a result of the disaster, becoming a victim of his own creation. Alphys became a Royal Scientist, since she was the only one who had the necessary qualifications and was Gaster's assistant, but after His "disappearance" from history, she remained the only one who was able to work. Under her leadership, she brought to success many projects, including: Mettaton, broadcasting and television (the last two-thanks to the technology of people who fell into the underground). The New House is a huge city standing on top of a cliff, accessible only by a long stone staircase or elevator. This is where a lot of monsters that want a quiet life are located. It has the largest number of streets and shops, which are busy with a variety of things. The bar "at Grillby's", which is run by Fuku Fire, is very popular. It is in the New House that the Royal castle and courtroom are located, which is popular to visit. The judge helps resolve conflicts and passes sentence after listening to both sides and asking leading questions. Queen Toriel - willingly accepts monsters and is ready to listen to their suggestions and complaints. She is kind, but at the same time strict and fair. As a ruler, she wishes prosperity to her Kingdom. Yes, in this case, the ruler is Toriel, not Asgor. There were no quarrels in the family after Asriel's death, but there was another misfortune. During the melting of the ice, King Asgor died protecting the child at the cost of his own life. Coral cemetery - a place where few people go, but everyone remembers it. Here are the graves of dead monsters and children.Most often this place is visited by Tori. The last corridor / courtroom is a place where the judge meets with both sides of the conflict, offering to solve everything on the mind. In addition, here, before you get to the Queen - you can meet Sans, who will change the scale of your sins. And, of course, all the battles on the path of genocide take place here. Do you wanna have a BAD time? =) In the Royal chamber there are three thrones, two of which are covered with blue cloth. Here you are met by Toriel, happy that you have arrived alive and well. Behind this room is a corridor at the end of which you can see the collapse. This is where you find that there is a barrier behind it.

the Zidian is Jiang Cheng’s ship. he inherited it from his mother, who was known as the Violet Spider, Scourge of the Seven Seas

before she retired, Captain Yu had two first mates she’d trained since childhood, Wen Qing and Luo Qingyang

after Captain Yu retired they got married and are now Pirate Wives with an-all female crew aboard the Yiling Matriarch

her bright red sails are just as feared as the purple sails of Zidian or the sable sails of Ghost General

any man who sets foot on the Matriarch best be prepared to lose it, and the leg it’s attached to

rumour has it that every carpenter from beijing to budapest pays the Matriarch a commission, for keeping them in work making peg legs, but that’s just a rumour

JC captains the Zidian alongside his first mate Jiang Yanli

the rumours about her say that she’s the reason there’s so little murdering done by those aboard the Zidian

but the crew know she once ordered a captive tied to a chunk of bait and thrown overboard near Shark Reef Bay

granted, she let the crew fish him back out after the first bite, and Jin Zixun never said another word about Captain Wei Wuxian until he was ransomed

but still

speaking of WWX, he captains the Ghost General, though far from doing any actual captaining he’s usually to be found up in the crow’s nest with a bottle of rum and his flute

luckily, his trusted first mate Wen Ning is more than capable of handling the General

his very favourite targets are the Jin Company’s slave traders, and most of his crew are former captives who chose to stay with him after their rescue

regardless of how drunk he might be, no one can fight like Captain WWX, except perhaps JC and JYL, they did grow up together after all!

because WWX was a foundling fished from the wreckage of a vanquished merchant ship by the Violet Spider at age 6 and taken to the island hideaway where her lover, former merchant sailor turned stay-at-home-dad Jiang Fengmian, is raising their two children

because this is a HAPPY AU DANGIT, and we deserve ONE AU where these two don’t traumatise their children

Captain Yu and JFM are in fact very, very happy together and raise little WWX together alongside JYL and JC

Captain Yu and JFM met when she raided his ship

he offered himself and all the gold aboard in return for his crew’s lives

she thought him rather striking and went about setting him up on a little island she knew, very out of the way, where she can visit as often as she likes

JFM is DELIGHTED by this turn of events, which he loudly denies has anything to do with Captain Yu’s famed skill with a whip

while JFM was settling into his sugar baby life, his crew were returning back to their home port to report to JFM’s business partner, Lan Qiren, that the Violet Spider had killed JFM and taken all their gold

LQR, who had secretly been in love with his best friend and business partner for years, declares the Violet Spider his ARCH NEMESIS and sets about trying to destroy her

when his brother and sister-in-law die and leave his two nephews in his care he ropes them into the feud

the Lan Brothers both join the merchant navy and are the very most eligible bachelors polite society has to offer

they hate all pirates of course but especially the unholy trio of Zidian, Ghost General, and the Yiling Matriarch

this makes it VERY awkward when Lan Wangji finds himself THROWN OVERBOARD during a terrible storm, rescued by WWX, and dragged aboard the General

at first, recognising the uniform, WWX keeps LWJ under his eye by tying their wrists together with a length of rope for absolutely no other reason definitely not cause he’s cute, nope, no sir

later, LWJ manages to snatch a sword and an EPIC DUEL ENSUES *cue he’s a pirate (main theme) from PotC here*

they’re in the rigging, they're sliding down the sails, they’re fighting up and down the deck

LWJ is HORRIFIED to realise at one point that WWX is laughing

even worse, he, LWJ, is having fun??? wtf he’s never had fun in his life how dare

after the fight ends in a draw LWJ and WWX come to an Understanding and have many deep and meaningful conversations as they sail back towards port

both of them fall madly in love of course, but Pirate!WWX and Midshipman!LWJ are just as emotionally dense as the OG varieties so there’s A LOT of pining

Seriously- so. much. pining

they probably battle a sea monster at some point because that’d be sick

finally, they arrive back at the port and WWX asks (sadly, because pining) where he should leave him and LWJ says (sadly, because pining) that any of the Gusu Cloud piers is fine

and WWX laughs because how funny! my dad used to be a merchant sailor for the Gusu Cloud Company

which is how LWJ discovers that the ‘dad’ WWX has been telling stories about for literal WEEKS is actually his uncle's now not-so-long-lost-love!because they are both Disaster Drama Gays™ they decide they simply MUST do this Right. After all, it’s an Epic Reunion™!!!

LWJ convinces his uncle to come out sailing with him (even though LQR has not boarded a ship since JFM was lost, cue sweeping nostalgic music and distant stare into montage of the two of them in their Youth)

they row him blindfolded out to the island where JFM and Captain Yu live and the moment LQR sees JFM it’s jaws to the floor.

there are tears

JFM puts his hands on LQR’s shoulders and says ‘my old friend. you never said’

they hug

it’s adorable

don’t roll your eyes it’s adorable and you know it

Captain Yu and LQR still Do Not Get Along

their Epic Rivalry™ continues but now it’s just morphed into them trying to outdo each other in displays of affection

JFM’s little island house soon holds more jewels, gold, fine silk, and artwork than half the royal coffers of europe

family dinners are a DELIGHT

JC freaking runs whenever his father hosts Captain Yu and LQR for dinner

because 1) god dad, you're so embarrassing, and 2) HE DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING THEY GET UP TO BEHIND CLOSED DOORS THANKS

JYL thinks it's sweet and loves seeing her dad so happy

WWX does the pirate-time equivalent of a bro fistbump with JFM, like, NICE.

LWJ is very quiet but secretly loves it because he, as we all know, is That Bitch

‘A wedding! I love it! drinks all round!’ – WWX, probably, when the three finally announce they’re getting married

the wedding is WILD

there’s a whole lot of dancing, WWX is in the thick of it of course

LWJ wants so badly to ask him to dance but he still hasn’t told him how he feels (because emotionally dense disaster gays, remember?)

he finally has to go outside after WWX somehow convinces LQR to dance a jig with him which means WWX has officially asked everyone to dance except him

he goes and sits in the tidal rockpool, and his billowy white shirt is all wet and see through when WWX comes stumbling out of the party calling for him

WWX sees LWJ silhouetted by an endless horizon of ocean and stars and dies. he's quiet for the first time in his whole life

then LWJ turns and sees him so of course WWX has to go down and talk to him. he may be a pirate but he’s not a barbarian (unlike some certain nies we could name but won’t he’s definitely not still salty about the arm wrestle incident with Captain Nie’s ‘little brother’ eh he’s not much of a fighter but he’s great with languages yeah right his wrist still hurts sometimes bloody barbarians)

‘ah lan zhan lan zhan! you aren’t allowed to run away; we haven’t had a dance yet. even your uncle danced with me surely you can’t say no!’ *pouts*

lwj.exe has stopped working

but of course he can’t deny WWX anything so he makes to head back inside

now wwx.exe has stopped working

because to HELL if he’s sharing wet LWJ in a see though white shirt with the rest of those imbeciles

‘ah, um lan zhan lan zhan we can hear the music from here just fine can’t we? let’s just dance right here?’

and of course LWJ says yes

so the two of them just dance together on the edge of the ocean, waves lapping over their bare feet

until a particularly big one knocks them flat (listen, it’s a trope for a REASON dagnabbit)

WWX ends up sprawled over LWJ’s chest and he’s laughing and apologizing

but LWJ is just looking at him, wreathed in stars, eyelashes so wet and glittering, the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen

WWX notices how still he is and they just pause for a moment and stare at each other

doesn’t really matter who kisses who but they are kissing and it’s wet and salty, there is sand in their teeth, and they absolutely do not give a flying dutchman

they don’t even register the cheers and catcalling until JC runs up and dumps a bucket of water over their heads

because dammit he hasn’t spent months running out of every room his parents and LQR are in just to watch his big brother pop his cherry get it on on the beach

the rest of the gang are all watching from the porch

WN and LXC look very awkward and embarrassed

JYL looks fond and is shaking her head

JC meanwhile is having a heated argument with WQ because there were bets on you see

WQ ‘pouring a bucket of water over them is cheating I’m not paying you one penny JC’

JC ‘I’m a pirate why on earth would you expect me to play by the rules pay up Captain’

WWX and LWJ sneak away while they’re all arguing
