“Mr. Know-It-All, Well, ya -- you think you know it all, But ya don't know a thing at all... Ain't it, ain't it something, y'all,  When somebody tells you something 'bout you -- Think that they know you more than you do? So you take it down, another pill to swallow... Mr. Bring-Me-Down,  Well, ya -- ya like to bring me down, don't you? But I ain't laying down, baby; I ain't goin' down! Can't nobody tell me how it's gonna be --  Nobody gonna make a fool outta me, baby...”
~“Mr. Know-It-All” by Kelly Clarkson

In the journals she kept during her time at Hogwarts, Mia Flume outlined seven very good reasons why she would loathe Jacob Cromwell for all eternity. Outlined below are those such reasons:
1) He’s an insensitive prat who doesn’t care about anyone else’s well-being.
Hogwarts castle...could anything truly be more beautiful? Seeing the shadow of it in the distance from her home in Hogsmeade was one thing -- it was so much more imposing, being dwarfed and yet cradled in its shadow. Even looking at full pictures of it in Hogwarts: A History didn’t do the castle justice.
Mia couldn’t stop staring up in delight. She was so engrossed that she only really realized they’d arrived at the shore when the boat she was in came to an abrupt halt that made the whole vessel shudder back and forth.
“Whoa!”
Mia was just barely able to steady herself by grabbing onto the edge of the boat. The huge gamekeeper, Rubeus Hagrid, hoisted himself up and out of the little boat he’d ridden all by himself and held up his lantern, smiling jovially.
“Well, c’mon, then, yeh lot!” he said. “T’ th’ Great Hall we go!”
Her face bursting into an eager smile, Mia stumbled over her own feet, ready to climb out of the boat --
Unfortunately, at that very same moment, another boat had pulled up alongside hers. A boy a head smaller than her with curly dark hair leapt out before the boat had even stopped, and in his haste, his flailing arm ended up slapping right into Mia, knocking her backward.
“Wha -- ahhh!”
SPLASH.
Mia fell right out of the boat and into the water. It was really quite shallow, all things considered, since they were so close to the shoreline -- but she still ended up soaked head to toe.
Some of the other kids in the boats started to laugh while Mia sputtered, blinking rapidly as she moped her wet bangs out of her eyes.
“Hey!”
But the boy seemed completely oblivious -- he’d instead run on ahead to the castle, his mouth wide and smiling as his eyes ran over every tower and window with an oddly hungry expression.
The snooty-looking brown-haired boy who the rude curly-haired one had accidentally landed in the lap of before the journey even started shot Mia and then the other boy a rather bewildered expression before sidling more carefully out of the boat himself.
“Oi! You!” he called ahead. “You might want to look where you’re going!”
But the curly-haired boy seemed too giddy about the castle in front of him to properly take in the scene happening behind him. This much was obvious when he shot the biggest grin over his shoulder at no one in particular.
“I am looking where I’m going! And isn’t it brilliant? Just LOOK at it!”
He threw his arms open wide.
“The greatest school for magic in all of Great Britain -- arguably the world! And we’re here! Isn’t it brilliant?”
Hagrid couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at the boy’s enthusiasm. “Maybe, but yeh still oughta be mo’ careful there, Jacob.”
With one large hand, he scooped Mia up out of the water by the back of her drenched black robes. Mia glared irritably at Jacob, who still seemed perfectly oblivious of her even as she and the other snooty-looking boy came right up to walk alongside him.
With every step they made toward the castle, her shoes gave small squelching noises. Mia imagined putting a couple of live slugs inside this boy called Jacob’s shoes as payback, just to make herself feel better for having to walk up in front of the whole class in sopping wet clothes.
2) He’s an insufferable know-it-all who never shuts up.
Mia had really been looking forward to her classes. Sure, having to do homework would never be particularly fun, but she was still determined to do her very best and learn as much as she could. After all, Hogwarts’ professors were among some of the most talented witches and wizards in Wizarding Britain -- as much as she knew she was going to help work in her father’s store one day, she wanted to be a great witch. There was only so much she could learn about magic in Hogsmeade Village, helping in her father’s kitchen or visiting Zonkos -- she’d need a proper library, and proper professors, if she was going to learn as much as she could.
Unfortunately for Mia Flume, her classes were rather frequently interrupted by the curly-haired Ravenclaw airhead called Jacob Cromwell. Shockingly, though, it was not to disrupt the class or act out, like one would expect. No, whenever Jacob raised his hand to speak, it almost always turned into an intellectual diatribe.
“Professor, wouldn’t it be good to also study the Budge variation? I found a passage about it in the Library the other day, while doing some extra reading on the Shrinking Solution -- Zyment Budge adding more Shrivelfigs to increase its potency was just fascinating to read about, even if it was largely by accident. Though I can’t help but feel like one could help compensate for the texture of the daisy roots by adding in a splash more of leech juice than the normal recipe requires. Has anyone else tried that? Reckon we’d have to have a bezoar on hand, if we tried it now, just in case, but...”
Every time Jacob brought one of their classes to a halt with questions like this, Mia felt the strong urge to hex his mouth shut. And yet, somehow, most of the teachers actually enjoyed listening to Jacob prattle on.
Professor Slughorn seemed to look forward to Jacob having something to say about his classes and frequently chortled whenever he raised his hand. Professor McGonagall was so impressed with Jacob’s talent for Transfiguration that she even gave him a handful of private lessons. Professor Flitwick in particular -- who Mia worked really hard to try to impress, considering his position as conductor of the Frog Choir and his considerable talent at Wizard Dueling -- seemed to have rose-colored glasses on when it came to Jacob. The Charms professor would even reward Jacob with house points, whenever the boy rose his hand to slip in obnoxiously scholarly additions to his lectures.
Even some of their classmates had come to find it endearing, rather than obnoxious. Fellow Ravenclaw Olivia Green would often smile listening to Jacob go on, even if she wasn’t completely able to follow his thought process entirely, and sometimes interjected serene additions herself, if she felt up to it.
“It doesn’t seem very humane for animals to be used in Transfiguration anyway,” she said airily, after Jacob had gone off on a tangent about comparing the Transfiguration Formula to Muggle algebraic equations in the middle of their second year Transfiguration class. “If we transform a mouse into a snuffbox, aren’t we effectively killing it? It was alive, and now it’s not. Or is it still alive while it is a snuffbox? Wouldn’t that be scary, to be alive, but suddenly not be able to move?”
Duncan Ashe, the snooty-faced Slytherin who’d been so derisive of Jacob in the beginning, would still frequently roll his eyes and tell Jacob to shut his trap whenever he prattled on, but whenever Jacob would get distracted doing something else, he’d always peek over at Jacob when he wasn’t looking, unable to completely hide just how impressed he truly was from his face.
Mia, however, was far too irritated to be impressed. How could she be impressed with someone who loved hearing themselves talk so much that they couldn’t even shut up and let a professor do their job? He was a bloody show-off, that’s what he was. Nothing but an obnoxious, pig-headed show-off.
...Okay, maybe he was some other things too. But the point still stood.
3) He has the attention span of a goldfish, and the work ethic of one too.
All of the Flumes had been Hufflepuffs. Ambrosius had been one; his wife Jenie had been one; and sure enough, all three of their daughters ended up becoming Hufflepuffs, one right after the other. In ‘74, there was Tia; a year later, Mia; and then three years after that, Callie -- and all of them ended up receiving recognition for their amiability and good work ethic, which Horace Slughorn himself said they’d inherited from their father. Mia in particular had been determined to make her father and family proud -- she was widely considered to be the brightest of her sisters when she was young, and at school, that conclusion was echoed by her teachers. And with that combination of smarts and relentless, hard-working attitude, she was definitely the image of an ideal student.
And yet even with all that hard work, Mia seemed to always come up short. And a lot of that was once again thanks to Jacob Cromwell.
One day in particular, right after her OWL exam for Potions, Mia was so enraged that she went to go sulk in her older sister Tia’s bunk in her dorm rather than her own, hugging a pillow beside her chest and fighting back tears of anger and frustration.
“It’s not fair -- it’s just not FAIR!” Mia’s voice came out as a muffled, furious sob as she buried her face in her sister’s pillow. “The examiner was talking to me -- it was my exam, and I did everything perfect -- even the Polyjuice Potion! I grew some of those ingredients myself, just to make sure it’d be right!”
Tia’s brown eyes softened sadly. “Polyjuice? Mia...that must’ve have taken an entire month, for you to gather the ingredients...”
Mia choked back another sob. “Two! I had to pluck the fluxweed during the full moon, and I’d just barely missed it the first time...”
Tia brought a hand through her younger sister’s hair.
“But...then it sounds like you did everything perfectly,” she said reassuringly. “You’re bound to have gotten an O, on your OWL -- ”
“Yeah -- but right when Mr. Tofty was looking over my work and appraising it, he got distracted by Jacob Cromwell, off in the corner, taking over the bloody blackboard and drawing all sorts of shapes and lines all over it. Instead of brewing a potion like everybody else, that absolute prat decided to let his head fly off into the atmosphere as per usual, and he got distracted going on a long, meandering lecture about the chemical composition of bezoars, theorizing if one could apply the Muggle periodic table to potion antidotes! Everyone else was tearing their hair out, brewing the hardest potions imaginable to try to get top marks -- and this airheaded git who never studies for any test at all, not even the most important tests of our entire lives, gets heralded for being a Potions genius and is probably going to get an O for doing NOTHING AT ALL!”
She threw herself down on Tia’s bed, screaming into her pillow.
Mia didn’t feel well enough to go down to dinner that night, so Tia headed out to the kitchens to pick up some tea and toasties to cheer her younger sister up.
4) He thinks he’s better than everyone else and acts like it.
As much as Mia enjoyed her classes, what she enjoyed most of all were the extracurricular activities. She was part of the Frog Choir and Dueling Club herself, while her older sister Tia participated in the scholarly Sphinx and Hippogriff Clubs and her younger sister Callie ended up being a colorful and well-liked Quidditch commentator. Then of course all three Flume sisters were frequently invited to Professor Slughorn’s “Slug Club” meetings -- with how fond he was of their father as a student, he was quite interested in seeing how they would blossom, post-Hogwarts.
And yet, for all of his many talents and interests, Jacob Cromwell never joined in on any extracurricular activities. In fact, the first time Mia heard a classmate ask if he was attending the upcoming Quidditch match, Jacob’s face twisted into a dry, almost mocking smile.
“Why would I want to watch a bunch of meathead jocks chuck balls at each other? No thanks -- I’d rather do something that involves some real brain activity...”
His disdain of Quidditch and its accompanying parties seemed to expand to anything that was more on the social side. Jacob seemed perfectly disinterested in going to any school functions that involved dancing or small talk. Although Jacob seemed to really enjoy Slughorn as a professor, he never showed up for any Slug Club meetings, no matter how often Slughorn invited or guilt-tripped him. Professor Flitwick had even expressed sincere disappointment that Jacob spent so much time chasing after the Cursed Vaults, when he would’ve loved to have such a talented tenor as part of the Frog Choir.
And all this wasn’t even touching Jacob’s behavior at the Dueling Club.
The very first time he strutted in there, back in second year, Jacob brashly declared that he wanted to face the best duelist there. Since none of the older students wanted to wipe the floor with him, they instead paired Jacob off with one of Mia’s fellow Hufflepuffs -- the poor boy then proceeded to get his arse handed to him, when Jacob Transfigured a snake out of his wand and then -- once it’d gotten close enough to his opponent -- Transfiguring it again into a rope that wound itself around the other boy and made him fall over. Jacob Cromwell then went on to beat every other person at the Club so effortlessly that it was like he could read their moves before they made them. The time Mia actually decided to try to give Jacob some of his own medicine for a change by challenging him at the Dueling Club herself (not long after that disastrous Potions OWL exam), he ducked and blocked every single spell she threw at him with a smile, before tying her up in magical bandages so tightly she resembled a mummy and knocking her back-first into a suit of armor. It took a good fifteen minutes for Mia’s friends at the Club to cut her loose off all those bandages, afterwards.
And yet even with how good he was at Dueling, Jacob never joined the Club -- never came for meetings, never tried to bring in new members or tutor newer ones. He’d just strut in now and again, knock everyone around a bit, and then leave, presumably to find something else to entertain him.
Mia had never wanted to hex someone’s head into a pumpkin more in her life.
5) His temper’s so violent I don’t reckon anyone’s safe around him.
Interestingly, for as much as Jacob Cromwell clearly disdained parties, he did attend one, in Mia’s memory. It was a Winter Ball organized by the students -- the theme had been “fire and water,” so the Great Hall was decked out with a gorgeous ruby red chandelier and flowing blue streamers, and the tile floor under them rippled like sparkling blue waves even as the sun began to set through the tall windows. And really, it was probably one of the most fun events in Mia’s fourth year, considering it gave her the opportunity to have fun with both of her sisters and their friends at school, while also dressing up and enjoying lots of good food.
At least until Jacob Cromwell pushed Sharon Edgecombe into the punch bowl, knocking the whole rest of the table over in the process, and started a fight right in the middle of the dance floor.
Mia didn’t ever get the full story about what had happened -- but according to what Sharon had said, Jacob Cromwell had gotten it in his head that she was sweet on his “friend” Duncan Ashe, and in a fit of jealousy, he attacked her. Many students had a hard time believing that story, but Mia was ready to believe it. Jacob Cromwell had always been a reckless, entitled, childish sort -- it’d be totally in-character for him to lose his temper thinking this guy he was clearly head over heels for and yet didn’t bother committing to might be interested in someone pretty and popular like Sharon.
Both Jacob and Duncan had been escorted out of the party by Mr. Filch -- but just about everyone who’d been at the party that night decided right then and there that they would never pick a fight with Jacob Cromwell.
6) He breaks every rule in the book and never feels sorry.
If pressed, Mia would have to admit that she was something of a goody-two-shoes. It really wasn’t that she was afraid of getting in trouble for breaking rules -- it was really more that she saw very little reason to break the rules, just for the sake of breaking them. Very often a lot of those rules were very sensible and were there to try to keep everyone else safe. Even in the case of the silly ones, it seemed like the tiny gain that would come from gloating and “sticking it to the Man” would be outweighed by the punishment that would no doubt ensue. This was why even if Mia didn’t earn the Prefect badge herself for her house and year (there had been some concern among the staff that she’d be a bit biased in her enforcement of the rules, whether in favor of Hufflepuff or against certain other students of different houses), she still generally respected authority and didn’t needlessly antagonize anyone. She even ended up endearing Mr. Filch to her somewhat, after she offered to let him sample some of the chocolates that she’d made for the school staff one Valentine’s Day.
Jacob Cromwell, on the other hand, was anything but a rule-follower. In his tenure, he’d broken just about every school rule imaginable -- trespassing in forbidden corridors; breaking curfew; trekking through the Forbidden Forest unaccompanied; sneaking into Hogsmeade village and smuggling firewhiskey and butterbeer back into school; stowing away into other people’s common rooms; busting into the Restricted Section of the Library; casting magic in the corridors; smuggling in contraband; experimenting with dangerous potions and advanced magic; leaving school grounds without any oversight or permission; and so on. Even his uniform was in a constant state of disarray, with his collar undone, his shirt forever untucked, and his tie flapping free rather than under any kind of jumper or sweater.
And yet despite all this -- despite how unfair it was, that he could get up to so much trouble, all the time -- so much of the staff and student body couldn’t help but like Jacob Cromwell, for the work he and his friends did to try to help with the Cursed Vaults. And so, time and again, Jacob’s bad behavior continuously went unpunished -- which, in Mia’s opinion, perfectly explained why he continued to break more and more rules unabated, until he finally went way over the line.
7) He cared more about the Cursed Vaults than he did his own friends and family.
This was the most damning thing about Jacob Cromwell, to Mia Flume. For someone who somehow managed to endear so many people to him, even with how obnoxious, arrogant, rude, violent, condescending and overall aggravating he could be, he was still more interested in cracking the mystery of those stupid Cursed Vaults than he was actually being a decent friend, brother, son, or even human being.
Everyone was whispering in confusion and concern, when Olivia Green disappeared. Everyone interrogated Jacob and Duncan about it at the time, though neither of them could offer a proper explanation. Duncan had always removed himself from any discussion, clearly too wounded to talk about it. Jacob, on the other hand, would answer, but end up saying almost nothing.
“...I do know what happened to her.”
“It won’t be long.”
“She’s going to be okay. I promise.”
Over the course of their sixth year, both Jacob and Duncan’s behavior grew more erratic, but it was Jacob’s that got the student body whispering. It was around this time that he started leaving school grounds without permission or oversight -- he’d done it several times, presumably sneaking into Hogsmeade and then using the Floo Network to travel to and from. No one quite knew where he was going or what he was doing, but there were some pretty nasty rumors -- rumors he was skulking around Knockturn Alley...that he’d even been recruited by some old Death Eaters. Such rumors were given more steam when Albus Dumbledore ended up expelling Jacob -- something that, many suspected, was largely in part to the death of Duncan, who was found with the remnants of an experimental Erumpent Potion. Duncan Ashe would never have experimented with such dangerous potions, before befriending the likes of Jacob Cromwell...
And then, in the midst of all that -- in the midst of losing his best friend, of disgracing his family and himself -- Jacob Cromwell disappeared without a trace. Some said he left the country -- others, that he’d killed himself. Some claimed he’d joined You-Know-Who’s old supporters and was now skulking around Knockturn Alley with a completely new identity and face.
When Mia had heard about Jacob Cromwell’s disappearance, she’d felt no concern for him whatsoever -- but she had felt sorry for his family. No matter how much she’d daydreamed reading about adventures in far-off places as a kid, she’d learned that one could and should find happiness just where they are...and so she knew she would never in a hundred million years choose anything over her family.
It was a pity that Jacob Cromwell’s mother had such a heartless son. Mia couldn’t imagine hurting her mother so badly -- just disappearing without a word. Jacob had a little sister too, Mia seemed to recall -- he’d rambled about her more than enough times, over the years.
As if I ever would leave Callie alone, to fend for herself, she thought scathingly. As if I’d leave Tia alone!
And all because he just had to know what was up with those stupid Cursed Vaults. It had to be just karma, Mia told herself, that he finally got some proper come-uppance for putting so much value on something like that, over sticking by the people who cared about him -- over caring about other people and their feelings. It was a story of hubris, clearly -- a cautionary tale that should be used to ward people off from becoming anything like Jacob Cromwell.
But then he had to actually come back. He had to come back, somehow just as boyishly 18 as he was when he first disappeared -- and much to Mia’s ire, he kept popping up at the far corners of her life, almost taunting her, while always being just out of reach of her best hexes.
For these reasons and more, I swear here and now that I shall loathe Jacob Cromwell for all eternity.

HOGWARTS HOUSES FOR KOTLC CHARACTERS HEADCANONS:
Sophie: It’s pretty obvious that her house is Ravenclaw- she’s wise, creative, and is very acceptable of people’s eccentrics/ quirky traits. I mean- she herself has ‘quirky’ traits. She’s also very individualistic, which makes her a perfect fit for Ravenclaw. I also thinks she fits into Gryffindor, but idk, Sophie in Ravenclaw just makes more sense.
Fitz: Fitz is pretty hard to fit into a box- so choosing his Hogwarts house is difficult, but I feel like it would either be Gryffindor or Slytherin. He’s pretty ambitious and daring, chivalrous if I may say, and he values at least some traditions (Like matchmaking). If I had to choose though, I think his house would be Gryffindor because a lot of Gryffindors do have slytherin tendencies/ traits. I think the house that least fits him though is Ravenclaw since I don’t think he’s the wisest, the most creative, or accepting of other elves’ unique traits.
Keefe: He is literally the textbook definition OF GRYFFINDOR. He’s reckless, daring, brave, and willing to do whatever it takes for him to save his friends. The house he least fits in is Slytherin, he doesn’t care for tradition, isn’t very ambitious, and isn’t very cunning.
Biana: I feel like her character doesn’t really fit into any specific house, her character traits are spread out, but I feel like she would be a Hufflepuff/ Gryffindor mix since she’s very loyal, hard-working, reckless, and courageous. She also has a strong sense of justice.
Dex: RAVENCLAW/ HUFFLEPUFF COMBINATION- he’s very innovative, kind, loyal, and hardworking. He’s also very smart. He just fits perfectly. The house that least fits him is Slytherin for sure, he’s nothing like a Slytherin.
Tam: Oh god- this is the most difficult one, BY FAR. Tam does not really fit into any of the houses- He has traits scattered from all across the houses, and his character isn’t really developed enough/ shown enough to know perfectly where he belongs. Even though this might sound crazy since they are basically opposites, I think he’s a Hufflepuff/ Slytherin mix, more so on the Hufflepuff side. First, Tam is a very loyal person with a strong moral code, this is demonstrated many times. In addition, he’s very hardworking and while not being reckless is still brave. However, his Slytherin side is that most of the time, he’s mistrusting of others and is self-reliant. In addition, he’s resourceful and can certainly be cunning and intelligent. So there we have it, Slytherin/ Hufflepuff combo.
Linh: It’s pretty obvious that she’s a Hufflepuff- her qualities are very reflective of a Hufflepuff’s, so-. She’s hardworking, courageous but not in a reckless way, loyal, dedicated, and fair.
Marella: Oh god- this is going to be a pretty hard one to decipher. Again, in this series, we don’t really know much about Marella, and the stuff we do know, more specifically her personality, isn’t really something you can put into one house. This is probably going to be inaccurate, but bare with me. I think she is a Gryffindor/Hufflepuff combo since she’s pretty courageous, feisty, and BRUTALLY HONEST, but she’s also dedicated and definitely hard-working. She also is a practical person, which is a Hufflepuff quality.
Stina: Slytherin, but not because she’s ‘evil’. She is definitely an ambitious and cunning person who is intelligent, no doubt. She is definitely a natural leader, is resourceful, pretty mistrustful of others, pretty self-reliant, and prideful, all of which are Slytherin qualities.
Wylie: he gives me Ravenclaw/ Slytherin vibes. He’s resourceful, intelligent, etc. (too lazy to explain by now)

My Analysis of Mystery Incorporated and Hogwarts Houses
I want to start by saying that I don’t believe The Sorting Hat chooses your house based on your personality. There is no clear-cut definition to each house. Every one of us exhibits traits of all four of the houses. So I like to believe The Sorting Hat chooses your house based on your values. This is why entire wizarding families are in the same house - they have the same values, but they don’t necessarily have the same personalities. This is why classifying can be controversial. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way to classify the gang because everyone has different interpretations of them depending on what they’ve read/watched. This is my take where I explore some different perspectives, so hear me out :)
Fred.
I feel like this is going to be smallest discussion by far because there’s literally nothing to discuss; Fred is a Gryffindor through and through. He’s the textbook definition of brave, he’s a do-er and he has a strong moral compass and sense of justice. He can be a little bit reckless and heroic, and I definitely see Harry’s personality within Fred’s. The only other house I’d possibly consider for him is Hufflepuff because he has a heart of gold and is so loyally devoted to his friends. But his competitive nature and tendency to act without thinking make him far more suited to...
GRYFFINDOR !
Daphne.
Looking at all the Scooby Gang in Hogwarts interpretations online, I have discovered that Daphne is the most controversial. I’ve seen her portrayed as all four, but I think there’s definitely more of a case for Slytherin and Gryffindor. For starters, while Daphne is very smart, she isn’t the type to think before acting, and she isn’t always logical (she’s a firm believer in the supernatural in many series). So she isn’t Ravenclaw, but what about Hufflepuff? I think Hufflepuff fits her, but she also has other qualities that are better exhibited in the more ‘extroverted’ houses, so to speak. Just like Fred, Daphne is far too competitive and ambitious to be a true Hufflepuff.
Something that a lot of people miss about Daphne’s character, particularly if you’ve only watched the older series, is her bravery. She can be heroic too, and as Scooby Apocalypse showed us, she can be a fierce leader too. An argument for Daphne being Gryffindor over Slytherin is that she is more passionate than reasonable. In my opinion, Gryffindors tend to be guided by their passion, whereas Slytherins are driven by their reason. At first glance, she may look like a Gryffindor because of her confidence and sense of adventure. But I think there are a couple of key reasons as to why she is not a Gryffindor.
To decipher the problem as to why she is not a Gryffindor, I simply compared her to Fred. She has a tough exterior, but I think inside, she is vulnerable and afraid of rejection and perhaps, at times, uncertain of her morals. This wavers from the fundamental definition of a Gryffindor.
Daphne likes to get her own way, and uses a variety of means to get it, whether it be her looks or smarts. That leads on to another thing - I just think she’s too smart for Gryffindor. Of course, you can have smart Gryffindors (hello Hermione), but she’s a different sort of smart. Hermione is book smart, but Daphne is more street smart. In that sense, she can also be manipulative and does have the potential to use this to her own advantage, whether it be good or bad. I believe that Daphne’s influential capacity makes her different from a Gryffindor, who has a strong sense of justice. She also highly values her reputation and appearance. In many incarnations, Daphne has been shown to be extremely resourceful and quick-witted. Gryffindors are more socially orientated and tend to do things for the ‘greater good’, governed by their own morality. Slytherins on the other hand, are more individually focused and I definitely think many of Daphne’s actions are for her own individual sense of self satisfaction. For all these reasons, Daphne is a...
SLYTHERIN !
Velma.
Okay, so the obvious thing here would be to say she’s a Ravenclaw because she’s smart. But there’s so much more to Velma than being ‘smart’ and Ravenclaws value more than just intelligence. Also remember there are people in Gryffindor, Slytherin and Hufflepuff who are highly intelligent.
Let’s do this by a process of elimination. First off, she’s not a Hufflepuff. I see Hufflepuffs as affectionate, caring people, and while Velma has an undeniable loyalty to her friends and family, she’s not open about it. Hufflepuffs are fair and modest people, but Velma never misses an opportunity to outshine a rival with her wits.
Gryffindor. *exhales* Velma is a brave person, but she’s not recklessly brave. You may argue that Velma is similar to Hermione, but I think the key thing that differentiates them is their thought process. Hermione is more of a doer, and has little time for planning, whereas Velma likes having a plan, especially during a trap. There are many episodes throughout the franchise where she gets frustrated with Fred’s lack of plan. This is Fred’s Gryffindor shining through, and I think in moments like these, the difference between their values becomes plain.
You may think by now that I’m pushing Velma towards Ravenclaw, especially since it’s clearly Hermione’s secondary house. Consider Slytherin. This is an interesting debate - in my opinion, Slytherin and Ravenclaw are the generally the smartest houses, and I can see Velma in both of them.
Overall, I think she is a Ravenclaw. This is because she has a constantly active mind and a love of learning and books. The defining trait of a Ravenclaw is their confidence in their own knowledge. Without a doubt, Velma has this to the point where she actually comes across as arrogant and a know-it-all. And she is probably the most introverted and independent character in the gang.
But I also want to present the lesser discussed notion of Velma being a Slytherin.
Velma is a detective with an incredible ability to read and understand the criminal mind. This in itself makes her a clever, calculating person, which are qualities of Slytherin. She is also ambitious and highly competitive, especially in the academic world. And she has a small group of close friends who she is very loyal to. Remember that SDMI episode where she hacks the monster biker’s computer to save Scooby’s life? *loyalty* I also think she demands a certain level of respect from the people that she meets. She wants to project herself as a smart, capable person and she gives me the feeling that first impressions matter to her.
As for the distinction between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, I think the key thing is this: Ravenclaws are both logical and abstract thinkers who think outside the box. Ravenclaw Luna Lovegood gave such insightful answers to enter the Ravenclaw common room, eg, a circle has no end or beginning. I just don’t think Velma is an abstract thinker. She’s a very practical person who likes to be in control of the facts of the mysteries. She freaks out whenever something is slightly off, like that BCSD episode when she got so caught up on why the monster was a Yeti instead of actually solving the mystery. In my opinion, Slytherins are more practical minded, they can have a nasty streak and they’re highly self reliant. Oh, and Velma is a sarcastic QUEEN.
In conclusion, Velma could easily be in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. I think she has elements of Slytherin (especially in SDMI), but at heart, I declare Velma to be...
RAVENCLAW !
Shaggy and Scooby.
The go-to for our iconic duo is Hufflepuff. They’re obviously not Slytherin or Ravenclaw (if you need further convincing, read Velma’s section above), but Gryffindor isn’t completely out of the question. Perhaps the polar opposites of primary and secondary houses is why Shelma, in my opinion, are incompatible.
It is widely known and played upon in all of Scooby Doo how cowardly Shaggy and Scooby are. But like, they’re not??? Their courage is seriously overlooked. They’re always placed in the most dangerous positions, and that requires a lot of bravery to overcome. They’re often the heroes who save their friends. If they were placed in Gryffindor, I’d see them as being very similar to Neville Longbottom.
But there are a few reasons as to why they are not true Gryffindors, and are, in fact, Hufflepuffs. Shaggy and Scooby are not at all competitive (where it matters - excluding sports or races) or tempered in nature. They hate conflict, and Shaggy is often the mediator between the gang’s arguments.
They are Hufflepuffs because of their loyalty, fairness and open-mindedness. Just like Cedric Diggory in the Triwizard Tournament who suggests Harry takes the cup, Shaggy and Scooby value people over individual glory. Shaggy is a very inclusive person and obviously an animal lover. Also, they obviously love to eat. There is a reason why the Hufflepuff common room is right beside the kitchens, and if Shaggy and Scooby got wind of this, they wouldn’t give the other houses a thought. So without further discussion...
HUFFLEPUFF !
Me!!!
I got Gryffindor in Pottermore but my values and personality are more suited to Ravenclaw. If I had to choose, I’d say RAVENCLAW, but my hybrid house feels the most accurate for me and it’s GRIFFINCLAW !!!
Anyway, I hope I sparked up some new thoughts/perspectives you hadn’t considered before.
What house are you?

Hogwarts House Sorting: Lucifer Characters
After hemming and hawing for weeks, I finally decided to commit to making this character analysis. I’ll be using the @sortinghatchats system of house sorting because I really love how much nuance it allows for!
You can find excellent explanations of the system on their blog, but a brief explanation for the un-initiated: Primary houses explain WHY a person does things. Secondary houses explain HOW they do them. Frequently, people may model another house, meaning they borrow that system or approach, but will fall back on their “true” house when the chips are down. Additionally, people can lose touch with their house(s) in a process called burning/falling/petrifying/stripping. Without further ado, here we go! Sortings under the cut. [Spoilers through Season 4].
LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR. I’ll start with Lucifer’s secondary, which I think is more straightforward. Our chaotic Devil is a Slytherin secondary through-and-through. He’s at his best when he’s improvising by charming other people, waltzing into a drug dealers’ home base, or paying off a traffic cop. While he can look like a charging Gryffindor or a favor-dealing Hufflepuff, these are ultimately tools that Lucifer uses to be a more effective Slytherin.
At first glance, Luci looks like a Slytherin primary, too. However, I actually think our titular Devil is a burned Hufflepuff primary who resorted to modelling Slytherin when he Fell. In fact, Luci’s character arc over the course of the show is to un-burn, a journey that starts even before he meets Chloe in the pilot. Hufflepuff and Slytherin primaries are both loyalist; the main difference between them is in the scope of their loyalty. Slytherin primaries prioritize a smaller circle of people whom they have decided to prioritize. In contrast, Hufflepuffs believe in the innate value of people, and seek to prioritize people based on need or a sense of what is fair–in Lucifer’s case, this revolves around the basic right to free will.
Hufflepuffs tend to burn when the world has treated them so unfairly that they end up believing that caring about everyone is an impossible goal. Facing this rejection, they narrow their circles and start to prioritize looking out just for themselves, or a few loved ones. This often comes with a sense of shame: if the Hufflepuff were a better person, they could be kind to everyone (and remember, being kind doesn’t mean being nice). Lucifer is constantly asking himself this question. Is he a monster? Can he be a good person? In the pilot, his first interaction with Amenadiel includes asking, “Do you think I’m evil because I was born that way, or because dear old Dad decided I was?”
At the beginning of the series, Lucifer mostly looks out for himself and, to a lesser extent, Maze. However, even in the pilot, we see glimpses of his inherent sense of justice and compassion for humanity. His interactions with Delilah (and his reaction to her death) set the stage, and his work with the LAPD–beyond his fascination with Chloe–continues the trend. Linda says it best when she tells him, “I think you’re starting to enjoy seeking justice for the good ones.” He only punishes people who have betrayed his innate sense of what is kind and fair–people who hurt other people–and he detests when someone takes away another person’s choice.
This isn’t to say that Slytherins can’t have this innate sense of fairness and compassion; it’s that a Slytherin would still put their “own people” first when the chips are down, and feel good about that decision. A Hufflepuff would feel like they’ve done the right thing when they put the collective good first. When Luci gives Marlotte her own universe at the end of season 2, he’s prioritizing the good of the world–and God and all his siblings in Heaven, estranged they may be–above keeping someone he loves very dearly: his mom. It’s a pretty significant character moment that this is the moral act which gives him his wings back.
Similarly, Lucifer’s pivotal decision at the end of season 4 also shows his Hufflepuff primary. He makes a huge personal sacrifice by going back to rule Hell, and hurts Chloe and his other loved ones to do it too. At the end of the day, Luci wants to do what’s best for humanity, even if it’s at cost to his inner circle. The flip side of this is the very Slytherin decision he makes at the end of season 3 which triggers the reappearance of his Devil face: killing Cain. Lucifer has killed exactly two people, both for the Slytherin motivation of protecting Chloe. Now, we can argue that Luci’s Slytherin model actually served him pretty well here, and the show generally wants us to support Luci after these difficult choices. But the key is in his reaction, which is an intense level of guilt uncharacteristic of someone who genuinely believes that the ends justify the means when it comes to protecting the people they love.
For our true Slytherin primaries, we need to look no further than the occasional murder-buddies, Maze and Dan.
MAZIKEEN SMITH. Maze is a classic Slytherin primary through and through, and she petrifies over the course of season 3. Her Slytherin primary clashes with Lucifer’s Hufflepuff primary as he slowly un-burns; she can’t understand why he cares so much about humans and why he would change for them. It also explains why she’s so betrayed by his refusal to take her back to Hell: For Slytherin Maze, Lucifer refusing to prioritize her must mean that he cares about her less. For Hufflepuff Lucifer, he has to consider the good of the system–and taking Maze back to Hell could endanger everyone else by angering his father. Plus, it would break up the family!
At the beginning, Maze’s circle consists of herself and Lucifer, and she’s willing to go to any length to protect him–including almost killing Chloe and siding with Amenadiel to bring Lucifer home.  While her stance on humanity ends up changing, it’s primarily because she finds some humans that she happens to like–Trixie and Linda, first and foremost, though she adopts more as the series goes on. She tells Chloe, “I’m glad I didn’t kill you,” not because she suddenly decides murder is inherently bad, but because she ends up looking at Chloe and thinking, ‘This one is mine.’
Maze petrifies when she slowly loses everyone in her circle besides herself. This starts by Linda and Amenadiel lying to her and spirals out of control when Lucifer refuses to take her back to Hell. “None of you deserve me,” she tells him, and suddenly finds herself with no one to protect but herself. However, Maze un-petrifies at the end of the season; the first step is when Amenadiel shows her compassion, but she ultimately finds her place again when she rushes to save Linda from the bluffed threat from Cain.
Maze is a Gryffindor secondary. She’s at her best when she charges head (and knife) first into situations. However, she also has a Ravenclaw model that, similarly to Lucifer, she uses to make her a more effective Gryffindor. Maze collects weapons and fighting styles in a very Ravenclaw-fashion so that she can be the best possible torturer and bounty-hunter, but when trouble arrives, she’s not going to stop and make a plan–she’s going to kick trouble’s ass.
DAN ESPINOZA gets along with Maze so well because they’re both Slytherin primaries. Dan’s willingness to feed Warden Perry to the mob–and his lack of remorse afterwards–because Perry is a scumbag who hurt someone he cares about is clear evidence of his primary. He also knows exactly where to look for a little backup in Maze, who’s always down to offer him the means to his end. At his “Detective Douchiest,” Dan is leveraging his Slytherin primary to justify his bad behavior. He’s loyal to himself, after all, and throws himself into his work to avoid being attached to anyone else. However, Dan’s primary is also a strength. It makes him fiercely loyal and dependable to the people he loves–willing to do whatever it takes to protect them, or get them the revenge they don’t believe in getting for themselves.
Speaking of throwing himself into work: Dan is a Hufflepuff secondary. He’s a hard-working detective who keeps his head down–which makes him clash with his Gryffindor ex-wife, Chloe, who would rather make loud, controversial decisions in the name of justice–and puts in steady hours to chip away at his goals. When he’s in a good place, he puts a similar work ethic into the people he loves. When he’s in a bad one, he hides behind his work and detaches from the “human” side of his secondary.
CHLOE DECKER. Like I just mentioned, Chloe is a Gryffindor primary who desperately wants to pretend that she’s a Ravenclaw. Her Ravenclaw model–attributing morality to the legal system, carefully considering the facts when making decisions–can serve her well, and she falls back on it when she’s trying to wrangle Lucifer’s Slytherin antics. However, Chloe’s real strength has always been following her gut–occasionally to the point of self-righteousness. This also explains her base moral conflict with Dan, who both prioritizes people over ideals. A similar conflict could exist with Lucifer, but Luci is constantly encouraging Chloe to trust her instincts–he values her true primary more than her model. She has an innate sense of right and wrong that she has to fight very hard to overcome, and things normally go worse for her when she does.
I’m talking about the clusterfuck that was early season 4, obviously. Chloe sees Lucifer’s Devil face at the end of season 3 and is faced with a reality that her Ravenclaw model was stubbornly refusing to accommodate; she has a gut reaction of fear that tells her to run away. This initial need for space wasn’t actually the issue. I think that, if Chloe had met anyone besides Father Kinley, things would’ve been just fine. But when she meets Kinley in Rome, Chloe is manipulated into ignoring her Gryffindor instincts. Her heart is telling her to trust Lucifer–that he’s a good person who she loves. However, Kinley manipulates Chloe into trusting an external source of morality instead: his twisted brand of Catholic pedagogy. What restores Chloe’s conscience is tossing out everything Kinley tries to tell her and realigning with what she feels, which is love for Lucifer.
Chloe is also a Gryffindor secondary, although her Ravenclaw secondary model is more useful and stable than her primary model. Like Maze, she borrows the thoughtful planning and skill-collecting of a Ravenclaw. Chloe tackles cases by examining every angle, carefully interrogating suspects, and weighing the pros and cons of every solution. I would hazard a guess that most of her colleagues assume that Ravenclaw!Chloe is all there is–especially because she seems so much more sensible that her reckless partner. But if we dig deeper, Chloe is more than happy to charge into situations with a stubbornness and bravery that’s nearly unmatched. When push comes to shove, Chloe will take a psychologist on a date rather than wait for special permission to speak to a suspect, leverage Lucifer’s impulsivity to shake down perps, and stand between Lucifer and Cain’s henchmen while daring them to shoot.
AMENADIEL.  Our resident solider of God is a little harder to pin down than most of the others for me, primarily because I really want to know more about his time in Heaven before the series started. Amenadiel reads either like a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor primary, though I lean towards a stripped Gryffindor. This is complicated by the fact that Amenadiel was stripped long before he realizes it during season 2. Stripped Gryffindors learn that they can’t trust their own moral compass and have to find a new system to follow instead. I think this happened to Amenadiel when he was still living in the Silver City, perhaps around the time Lucifer Fell, if not before.
Amenadiel functions by being his father’s loyal solider–by doing exactly what he’s told, because it’s supposed to be the right thing. He labels his brother as selfish, reckless, and evil despite harboring a clear love for him at the same time. This cognitive dissonance exists because someone else taught Amenadiel that he should believe those things about Lucifer. He survives in Heaven by falling in line–essentially adapting his father’s party line, like a Ravenclaw would. The issue is that a Ravenclaw would be satisfied with adapting such a system, and would not struggle as much to revise this system later if they found it inadequate.
In contrast, Amenadiel is constantly struggling to figure out what’s right. He’s horrified by his own behavior during season 1, causing him to Fall from angelhood and lose his wings and powers, but can’t seem to re-orient himself. He tries on different hats–first being like Lucifer, then following their mom instead of their dad, and finally trying to follow their dad again–but nothing ever feels right. Amenadiel’s greatest comfort is found in the realization that angels self-actualize. Once this realization comes, Amenadiel learns to trust himself again and regains his wings once and for all.
Amenadiel splits himself between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw secondaries and somehow manages to fail at both. (I say this with love). This is mostly because, I think, his Gryffindor primary is so stripped that his HOW is too detached from a WHY that makes internal sense–this leaves him ineffective and lost. Looking at season 4, though, I think Amenadiel is a Ravenclaw who models a Gryff secondary. While he’s still up for a Gryffindor-esque charge into the fight, Amenadiel approaches Linda’s pregnancy and impending fatherhood with a desire to learn as much as he can and make a better world for his son.
LINDA MARTIN is a Ravenclaw primary who briefly falls when she sees Lucifer’s Devil face, then promptly picks up herself back up and builds a new moral system for herself. It takes her about a week and she’s fairly satisfied with the result, even when her emotional and physical fears flare back up and she has to baby-proof her ceiling. Pre-fall, Linda believed in a system of compassion and warm skepticism, which made her an excellent therapist. She liked to think she might be reincarnated as a chameleon. She enjoyed the process of questioning the world. During her fall, Linda found her current system incapable of accommodating the simultaneously massive and personal scale of Divinity–and post-fall, she builds a new system that largely looks the same as before but, as Amenadiel helpfully points out, contains “different questions.”
With Linda, we’ve finally found a straightforward Ravenclaw secondary, no modelling to be found. Linda likes to plan for trouble, and she flounders when that opportunity is taken away from her. She’s constantly trying to remind people that she’s not that kind of doctor, and while she lets herself get swept up into Lucifer’s schemes–like breaking God out of a psychiatric hospital–she’s never comfortable in that kind of situation and the decisions she makes impulsively don’t tend to work out well for her (see: the resulting interrogation from the ethics review board).
ELLA LOPEZ is another “double” house, and our second Hufflepuff primary. While many people who have a strong religious faith can be seen as Ravenclaw primaries, Ella’s connection to her faith is driven by her innate love for humanity. She believes that people–including the Devil, who she says gets a bad rap–are basically good and deserve love and kindness. After Charlotte’s death, we see that Ella’s response is not to lose faith in her approach to life like a Ravenclaw might–instead, she resents a God who she thought shared her Hufflepuff morals and clearly doesn’t, if such senseless bad things can happen to good people.
Her Hufflepuff secondary is a fairly classic kind, combining cheerful work with an interpersonal warmth that endears people to her. Ella’s natural charisma is a sweet, understated variety that makes even Azrael, the Angel of Death, want to look out for her. While Ella rarely leverages this consciously–and her lack of desire to do so feeds into her charm–there are multiple points in the series where people casually go to bat for her. Two prime examples are when Charlotte tells off Pierce in an immensely satisfying fashion and when Lucifer scares Ella’s brother straight.
CHARLOTTE RICHARDS. Oh, dearest Charlotte. So much of her time is spent in a existential crisis that she’s another hard one to pin down. but I think she’s a Slytherin primary. When Charlotte finds out about the Devil of it all, she doesn’t run like Chloe, and she doesn’t have to reconstruct her view of the world like Linda does. Instead, Charlotte struggles to understand how to be a “good” Slytherin. Pre-trip to Hell, it’s implied that Charlotte lived fairly selfishly, extending her Slytherin circle to herself, her clients, and perhaps her children. Post-Hell, Charlotte is rocked to her core by the realization that she was not living free of guilt.
Now, some could argue that this means Charlotte isn’t actually a Slytherin. However, Slytherins aren’t free from other aspects of morality just because their first priority will always be their chosen people. Charlotte prioritized protecting criminals who she knew did terrible things, and she put herself first to an extent that many people would feel guilty about, even though most would agree that it’s good to put yourself first sometimes. When she’s trying to become a “good” person, Charlotte initially tries to give up her Slytherin ideals entirely. She quits her job and joins the DA’s office, trying to more like the cheerful Hufflepuff Ella.
This ultimately fails; it simply isn’t her. But Charlotte finds success–and a tragic redemption–when she learns that there’s more than one way to be a Slytherin. She turns some of her Slytherin loyalty outwards, towards victims and survivors of domestic abuse as well as new loved ones–Dan, Ella, and Amenadiel. She’s willing to go to great lengths to protect the people in her circle, which is still a very Slytherin motivation, but one that she feels much more at peace with in the end.
As for Charlotte’s secondary? Look, anyone who steals a dude’s motorcycle while cheerfully informing him, “Don’t worry, it’s for God!” is probably a Gryffindor. I don’t make the rules here.
MARLOTTE. The thing about being a Hufflepuff primary is that people matter, but not everyone has the same definition of “person.” At first glance, the Divine Goddess might look like a Slytherin primary. However, I argue that she actually values all “people” equally, it’s just that she considers Celestials to be people, and humanity to be both too foreign and simple to matter. (This logic is, by the way, the same reasons Hufflepuffs are no less capable of racism, homophobia, etc. than anyone else).
Goddess’s primary goal is to reunite her family, sans God, and she’s willing to roast a bunch of humans on the Santa Monica Pier to do it. Humans are fundamentally expendable–except for her “favorite human,” Dan, who essentially gets a loophole when she spends enough time with him and stops seeing him as “other.” But Goddess doesn’t consider any Celestial to be expendable. She’s not willing to harm Luci and Amenadiel, even when she realizes that they were planning to betray her. She doesn’t value herself more than she values her children, and she doesn’t play favorites. If she did, she might be content to try and stay on Earth, or to wage a war in which some of her children (i.e., the ones who didn’t side with her) died. If Goddess were a Slytherin, it would be possible to “kick” people out of her circle, like Maze does when she petrifies. Instead, Goddess’s natural state is essentially inclusive, much like her son, Lucifer–they just have a pretty substantial conflict over who gets included.
Goddess is a determined Ravenclaw secondary. When she needs to make things better with Lucifer, she learns how to make “cheesy noodles.” She throws herself whole-heartedly into learning  how to live as Charlotte Richards–including reading every legal book every, apparently. While she’s certainly cunning like many Slytherin secondaries, Goddess actually doesn’t function very well without a plan. Things fall apart for her pretty quickly when she runs out of time in her body and has to make decisions off the cuff. Unlike Lucifer, who works best when he’s under pressure, she needs time to set up her course of action.
EVE is another difficult one to sort because so much of her characterization is about not knowing how she is. This makes her primary fairly obscured, and I hope we’ll see more of her in season 5 so I can revisit this sorting. For now, I’m going with a Gryffindor primary. Eve is motivated by doing what feels good–whether it’s leaving Heaven because she’s tired of being someone’s wife or convincing her boyfriend to punish people. She has an instinctive solution to every problem–even when logic says, ‘Hey, maybe don’t release demons from Hell?’ because she knows how things should be–and that’s with her and Lucifer together.
The reason she clashes with Lucifer is that while Eve’s primary is about ideals, Lucifer’s primary is about people–whether he’s operating on his Slytherin model or his true Hufflepuff primary. Lucifer cares a whole lot about other people’s desires–including Eve’s–but he doesn’t care that much about his own if they hurt other people. Interestingly, Chloe and Lucifer have this same idealist vs. humanist conflict; Eve and Chloe just have very different flavors of Gryffindor morality, and it turns out that Chloe’s ideals match up with Lucifer’s Hufflepuff values more of the time. Furthermore, Chloe comes to accept Lucifer’s Hufflepuff-ness in a way that Eve doesn’t. Chloe actually prefers Luci as a Puff–her Gryffindor righteousness says that they should protect other people, which is the same thing Lucifer wants to do.
Much like Ella, Eve uses a Hufflepuff secondary to build connections with other people that she can depend on. However, Eve leverages those connections on a much more conscious level than Ella ever does–in fact, it’s essentially the first thing that Eve ever does, both in her life and in the series. She starts by connecting herself to Adam, trying to be the perfect wife. Then, she leaves Heaven and seeks out Lucifer, relying on him to help her accomplish her goals. After getting dumped, Eve jumps to Maze instead. She’s a particularly effective Hufflepuff because of her Slytherin model, which allows her to adapt to whatever the other person needs her to be (see: the entirety of “Super Bad Boyfriend.”) You could make the argument that Eve is actually just a Slytherin secondary, since the “chameleon” aspect is so central to how she functions. However, Eve has a level of discomfort with her constant mask-wearing that a Slytherin secondary probably wouldn’t. In fact, deciding to part ways with her Slytherin model and figure out who she is represents Eve’s big character moment at the very end of the season.
MARCUS PIERCE/CAIN. I saved Cain for last because (in my opinion) he’s the closest thing to a pure antagonist that we have on the show, but frankly even that’s debatable [EDIT I FORGOT KINLEY EXISTED LMAO]. Anyways, Cain is a Slytherin primary who has been petrified for so long that he’s ready for a hard-out on the whole immortality thing. The only person in his circle is himself–we see, mostly in flashbacks, that this is because he’s tired of the pain that comes with losing people he loves. Cain only wants to live again once he adds Chloe to his circle and she reminds him what it feels like to have people to live for.
The neat and/or horrifying thing about Cain is that he’s a fantastic example of a truly insidious Hufflepuff secondary. His entire Sinnerman persona revolves around crafting a network of people and resources he can depend on. When Luci and friends put his back against the wall after the death of Charlotte, Cain doesn’t resort to charging, improvising, or leveraging his own skills. Instead, he calls up a bunch of people who owe him favors and are too terrified to betray him, and they do all the dirty work for him. It actually very nearly works, too.

(cis female | she/her | milena tscharntke) —— isn’t that AMELIA SUSAN BONES? yeah that is them, sitting there at the GRYFFINDOR table with those other FIFTH years. when sybill looks into that crystal ball of hers, she sees ink marks on long parchments; the warm summer breeze while waves break in the sand; fast heartbeats when learning something new; a steadily wielded wand and the exceptional gift for defensive spells; narrow suspicious eyes thirsty for justice; silly whispers at night. anyway i’ve heard they’re pretty HONEST, CLEVER and UNDAUNTED. apparently they’re a FOR THE LIGHT and PUREBLOOD but i’m sure that’s not related.
HEADCANONS
B I O  &  F A M I L Y  C O N T E X T
Amelia Susan Bones is the middle-daughter of the three kids of Leonard Bones and Evanna Pierce (Edgar, Amelia and Benjamin). Her father is a brave and smart auror, known by his talent on defensive spells and a huge sense of justice and equality. Evanna is a healer at St. Mungus and sweet, loyal and empathetic woman, brilliant in potions. They're both sympathizers of The Order of Phoenix and absolutey loyal to Dumbledore.
The Bones family is a traditional and powerful wizardly family, known by their magical greatness and ethical philosophy. Mostly of them went to Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff and they are very tolerant and open minded.
In this context, Amelia was raised to be a great, bold, intelligent and noble witch. The name she carries pushes her to a lot of pressure for perfection and sometimes she may have anxiety crisis.
She’s very dedicated and competitive and doesn’t believe in the conquer without working hard. She fights for the best positions, includind inside her own family: she’s the only girl in three generations and is decided to make history.
She’s very attatched to her family and there’s nothing in the world she wouldn’t do for them. All of her values became from them and she’s very proud of them.

Do you have any headcanons about Frances and Alexis' Hogwarts house?
Of course I do! The pair of them are Gryffindors.
While Frances may outwardly seem like a Slytherin with her cool, yet stern demeanour (and affinity for the colour green), she has very little in way of ambition and while she may have a fair bit of typical Phantomhive cunning that isn't her defining trait. Above all else Frances values integrity and honor, placing greater stakes on a person's abilities rather than anything else. She's confident enough to tell you when you're in the wrong or a disappointment and has a strong sense justice.
Alexis on the other hand has many traits that would define a Hufflepuff, he's steadfast, dedicated and exceedingly loyal. But again his true values are justice, courage and honor. He's practically living proof of the adage 'chivalry isn't dead' and a knight of the realm to boot. Much like his wife he has an inane confidence in himself and his abilities and is unafraid to take charge in stressful situations. For example his choice to stay behind on the doomed Campania rather than retreat to the lifeboats with his family, just because there were people that needed saving.
Tldr: The Midfords are Gryffindors.

Hogwarts houses for the gals! (And bonus Hannibal and Marcurio too)
Hmm. I’ll admit, I have thought about this before, but I haven’t got a definitive answer for some of my characters. Nevertheless I’ll have a stab at it...
JULIANNE: a Ravenclaw par excellence, which I doubt will come as a surprise. Her devotion is to scholarship and learning, and she will if necessary transcend arbitrary rules to achieve knowledge for knowledge’s sake.
CORINNE: her quiet determination and her unfailing loyalty would likely put her in Hufflepuff. Though to be fair, most of the Blades would for that end up in Hufflepuff, and I don’t know if that would be accurate or not. Anyway, I’ve never thought of her as anything but.
MARIANNE: she’s a more difficult one, it must be said. I’ve often thought of her as Gryffindor, in the sense that she does what she thinks is right and damns the consequences. Certainly she’s brave, and may be perceived as rather stupidly so, when she’s defending something worth defending.
LUNETTE: I definitely think she’d be a Slytherin. She is perfectly capable of, and happy with, using manipulation and cunning to get what she wants, and she’s ambitious, if nothing else. Hers is not ambition for ambition’s sake, though: her ultimate values are somewhat the same as Marianne’s, she just wants to defend the voiceless, and fight inequality.
JULIENNE: I rather think she’d be another Ravenclaw, though the boundaries are rather less clear, as she isn’t much of a proper scholar. But her ventures are not for some exterior goal, or even necessarily out of altruism, they are for discovery, and self-improvement, and I think that makes her more similar to Julianne than might be at first obvious.
TALVYNEA: likely another Hufflepuff, though this time because she is hardworking, patient, and devoted to justice. There’s a bit of the Gryffindor in her, but I think she’d more suit the quieter of the Houses.
HANNIBAL: almost certainly a Ravenclaw. Despite his position and influence, I don’t see him particularly as an ambitious Slytherin. I rather think he didn’t see the post of Arch-Mage quite how it is, I think he saw it as scholarly rather than political, and my characterisation of him is certainly as an academic more than anything.
MARCURIO: his scholarly interests might suggest yet another Ravenclaw, but my sorting him into this House is less from what he is, than from what he isn’t. That is, I don’t think he much suits any of the other Houses. My writing of him tends to posit him as something of a scholar, and with similar motivations to Julienne, so there’s that.

Prompt 3, 1, 6, 7, 19 for COTT?
Of course, anon dear! Thank you for your request and I hope you enjoy the headcanons - it’s really fun to write AU’s, so I really enjoyed writing these!
1. What house will you be in?
Both Jay and Theresa are both in Gryffindor. Jay is a natural leader and most of his prominent traits are ones that are highly valued by Gryffindor and he never really had a doubt, heading into Hogwarts, as to which house the Sorting Hat would place him in. Theresa, meanwhile, was one the Hat hesitated on for a bit but, given her intense desire to be in Gryffindor (mainly due to her parents also having been in Gryffindor) and the fact that she does have traits that the House values, that’s where she ended up.
Odie and Archie are both in Ravenclaw! Odie, who considers knowledge the greatest power, was a sure fit for the House and nobody was surprised. He’s a little sad that he and all his friends aren’t in the same houses but he still wouldn’t switch houses for all the money or power in the world - the bookshelves in the common room alone make it worth it. Archie, meanwhile, surprised everyone, including himself, with which house he was sorted into. However, despite his gruff exterior, he’s got a quick wit, an open mind, and natural intelligence in spades, all of which Ravenclaw values heavily. He and Odie may or may not have a competiton to see who can guess the riddle to get into the common room the fastest.
Atlanta and Herry are both in Hufflepuff! Herry’s whole family has been in Hufflepuff, or so his Granny says, so he was actually really happy to be sorted into the House. He’s a little disappointed, like Odie, that his friends are scattered throughout the houses, but he doesn’t consider that a boon to their friendship or anything - Herry’s all about being friendly to everyone whenever possible and makes friends among the houses easily. Atlanta was a natural pick for Hufflepuff as well, with her loyalty and sense of justice and her desire for fair play in all. She’s a bit more hot-headed than most of her fellow Hufflepuffs - the Sorting Hat did briefly consider Gryffindor for her but in the end, how hard she’s willing to work got her put into Hufflepuff, not that she minds too much. She’s got pride in her house!
Neil, meanwhile, was the only one of the friend group put in Slytherin. He was a little disappointed at first, because he didn’t share a house with any of his friends and because most students look down on his House but, like with anything else, Neil took the Sorting Hat’s decision and he owned it. Besides, green does look perfect with his colouring. It takes him a bit of time to get used to the common room and he complains about it quite a bit, but he does have pride in his House and, with his good luck in earning House Points, he’s usually behind Slytherin being in the lead for the House Cup.
6. What’s the core of your wand?
Jay, Archie, and Herry all have wands with unicorn hair cores. Theresa and Atlanta have wands with dragon heart-string cores. Neil and Odie both have wands that have phoenix feather cores.
7. Do you think you’ll be part of the quidditch team?
Jay and Theresa both play for the Gryffindor team, Jay as Keeper and Theresa as a Chaser.
Archie plays as a Beater for the Ravenclaw team, while Odie cheers for his house from the stands. If Ravenclaw isn’t playing, Odie stans Gryffindor’s Quidditch team while Archie always supports Hufflepuff’s team right after his own.
Atlanta plays as a Seeker on the Hufflepuff team. Herry loves Quidditch but, because of his poor flying skills, he loves it from the stands.
Neil doesn’t understand what’s so great about Quidditch anyway but will join the House Team just to get attention and praise. His almost supernatural luck makes him an invaluable Seeker.
19. On hogsmeade visits, what shops will you go to?
All the friends gather together after their shopping to enjoy a round of Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks. This is always a non-negotiable thing for all of them, especially since they don’t always get to spend a lot of time together, being in different houses. However, they all have shops they absolutely must go to before meeting up. Neil always makes time to go to both Gladrags and the hair salon in Hogsmeade whenever the students are allowed to visit. He has to do his best to keep looking this good - for all his fans, of course. Herry visits Honeydukes every time and spends way too long inside the store. It’s just so hard to decide - it all looks amazing. Both Archie and Atlanta have an unhealthy love for Zonko’s, much to their victims friends dismay. Theresa loves Madam Puddifoot’s, though she won’t admit to it, and might have wondered if she could possibly get Jay to go there with her. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take much convincing on her end. Both Jay and Odie love Dervish & Banges, while Jay always takes a chance to visit Spintwitches Sporting Needs to check out the Quidditch supplies and Odie always has to make a stop at Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop to replace the numerous quills he manages to lose.

Taylor Swift is a Gryffindor: A Persuasive Essay by Sabrina AKA Harry Potter’s Literal Birth Daughter
There are four houses of Hogwarts. To start out, I would like to reference the Sorting Hat’s song from the book series, that briefly discusses the main traits of each house.
You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve and chivalry, Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true, And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, If you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin, You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folk use any means, To achieve their ends.
To summarize this, Gryffindors primary trait is their boldness. They are competitive, headstrong, and extremely stubborn. They are also very loyal to those they love. However, their morals are at the forefront of their mind at all times, and therefore, when it becomes necessary, they won’t hesitate to stand up for what is right (i.e. despite Hermione’s obsession with following the rules, she didn’t hesitate to break them when the time came that it was necessary).
Hufflepuffs value loyalty and kindness. They are patient, hardworking, and kind, but they can stand up and fight if it comes down to it. I don’t have too much else to say about Hufflepuffs.
Ravenclaws are intelligent and witty, but not always in a book-smart way. They’re wise beyond their years and like to think creatively and out-of-the-box. They enjoy poetry and riddles and things that make them think on a deeper level.
Slytherins are cunning and shrewd. They’re also fiercely ambitious. The part of the Sorting Hat’s poem that really sticks out about Slytherins are that “those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends.” No, not all Slytherins are bad despite their reputation. However, when they really want something, they know how to get it, and they will get it. Even if this means sacrificing other things to get it.
I would like to approach this essay by explaining what Taylor has in common with the houses as well as how she differs. To start, many say she is a Slytherin but I believe this is the farthest from the truth. Although Taylor is extremely ambitious, she clearly values her family and friends over everything else. I believe if it came down to her career or her family/friends, Taylor would choose her family/friends in a heartbeat. Slytherins’ desire for power and success would overpower their love or possibly damage their relationships. The fact that Taylor’s relationships (Abigail, Selena, etc.) have lasted for as long as they have proves she truly prioritizes them in her life. Though she is calculating, another Slytherin trait, she uses that skill as a way to protect herself from being hurt, rather than as a way to plan and get what she wants.
The next house, Ravenclaw, is one I believed Taylor fit into for quite a while. We’ve witnessed her dry witty humour for a long time, and she’s proved herself to be wise beyond her years. She’s also showed she has a thirst for learning and continuing to better herself. However, I don’t believe wisdom is the thing she values the most. Also, despite her stubbornness, I don’t believe it’s the same kind of stubbornness that Ravenclaws exhibit. It’s not so much of a “I am right,” stubbornness, and more of a “I need the last word,” stubbornness.
Two houses down, we move on to Hufflepuff. Don’t get me wrong, Taylor has plenty of Hufflepuff qualities. She’s extremely loyal to those she loves, she values fairness and hard work. She wants to reward people who she sees are good and are putting in effort (i.e. all the people whose careers she has quite literally skyrocketed). Not to mention, towards the beginning of her career, she was very much a people-pleaser. She wanted to be liked and she wanted to appeal to the masses. However, I believe that over time, that desire in her has changed. From the videos and information we have from before she was famous/her early career, we see she was much more bold and outspoken and gradually calmed herself down as she got pushed more into the spotlight. I believe this was partly due to the pressures of fame, and also probably due to advice from her management and record label. She has been outspoken about the amount of anxiety she developed from fame and having people watching her every move. However, in recent years, we’ve seen her develop an unapologetic attitude similar to the one she had early on in her career. She stands up for herself and isn’t afraid to call out people who have wronged her or those she loves. She’s also speaking more about politics making a call for justice. Although Hufflepuffs will also fight for what is right, the fact that this seems to have been her personality all along (before she was famous), it seems she fits more in the Gryffindor category. Even the most stubborn Gryffindors can be swayed by anxiety and fear, but we push through. And she did.
Yes, everyone who doesn’t know much about Harry Potter says they’re a Gryffindor. It’s very possible Taylor said that due to having only seen the movies (Maybe she’s read the books, who knows!). We don’t know until she confirms she’s taken the test. However, I truly believe she is a Gryffindor and here is why. Gryffindors are competitive (always wanting the last word). Taylor is one of the most competitive people I’ve ever witnessed. Along with this, Gryffindors bold and can sometimes allow their feelings on a subject to control their actions. This leads them to act pretty impulsively some of the time. We’ve seen her act impulsively when emotions are high, like calling Joe Jonas out on the Ellen show in 2008. Dare I mention…… the gloves? Some of the sassy and iconic award show comments about Justin Bieber? There are more but we must move on. The outright nerve for her to say some of the things she said I mean just take the entire of the album Speak Now (2010). She really just put multiple 5-7 minute songs on there and put everyone’s issues out there. She didn’t care about the angry emails or how they would react. Even I, a VERY stubborn and proud Gryffindor, get nervous releasing vulnerable songs I know the people they were written about will hear. She said I DON’T CARE I have things to say. And she said them. She said do NOT step on me. This is evident again with her trial and k*nye. I don’t believe a Hufflepuff would have called out people in the way Taylor has done throughout her entire career.
All in all, Taylor has a little bit of every house in her, and she definitely has many Hufflepuff traits, especially since some of those traits are shared with Gryffindor (i.e. loyalty). However, her boldness is what makes her a Gryffindor. When people first meet me, many assume I would be a Hufflepuff because I come off as friendly and a bit shy. However, once people know me, they’re like “YOU ARE SUCH A GRYFFINDOR YOU ARE SO STUBBORN SHUT UP.” I’ve never taken a sorting quiz and gotten anything but Gryffindor and for some reason, I’m always scared I might get Hufflepuff or a different house (my hogwarts house is literally……. who I am), but I never do. I may not always outwardly appear this way to strangers due to social anxiety, but I am fiercely bold about my beliefs and justice and I will fight for those I love. Hell, I stand up for others more than I stand up for myself. I think Taylor is very similar to me in this way (we are also both Sagittariuses- fire signs. Like Gryffindor.) and therefore, though she may not outwardly appear it all the time, I believe she is a Gryffindor at heart.

I'd like to ask for your headcanons about Marvel characters (mostly Steve and Peggy) in HP universe? Not only your ideas for which house they'd belong to, but how do you see their adult careers?
Ooooh, interesting. I wouldn’t call these hard and fast headcanons, especially regarding houses as there is so much overlap, but what I tend to lean towards:
Steve as a Hufflepuff. The traits that I associate the most with Steve as a highly developed sense of justice, of what’s right and wrong, and what’s fair, and being willing to work hard and keep persevering in order to get where he wants to go, as well as his being a very loyal person and valuing loyalty. I think there’s a strong argument for placing him in Gryffindor, but looking both at his traits and his values, for me he leans more into the Puff side.
Alternatively, if we’re talking Steve attending Ilvermorny rather than Hogwarts then I think, based on what little we know about those houses, that he would be a Thunderbird (representing the ‘soul’).
I do think he would be likely to end up an Auror, but I think he would be a very troublesome one who is constantly only just toeing the line if not crossing right over it, preferring to follow his own morality than adhering unquestioningly to the rules - I imagine he’d be hauled up for warnings and official reprimands, going out in the field when he’s technically on probation and meant to be a behind a desk, all around a complete thorn in his superiors’ sides, but they can’t just get rid of him because he usually turns out to be right and because they know the team of Aurors he leads would riot if he was fired.
Peggy, on the other hand, I think is absolutely a Gryffindor, although one with some very Slytherin behaviours. From a young age she’s valued ideas of chivalry and daring, and I see her as someone who values courage and determination in other people - and I think she’s also more interested in what’s right and less interested in what’s fair, if that make sense, where I see Steve wanting both.
Post Hogwarts, I think she would also join the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, but I think she would climb the ladder rather than staying in the field and eventually end up as Department Head - I think she would also frequently clash with Steve when he breaks the rules, or at least appear to since really she also bends the rules a lot herself to help him and is a good part of the reason why he’s never actually been fired.
Other characters I have more defined ideas for are:
Bruce - Ravenclaw. He’s a scholar at heart, wanting to learn and accumulate knowledge and use that to understand the world around him, but he’s also an innovative and creative thinker. I see him as going to work as an Unspeakable in the Department of Mysteries, researching things no one else quite understands - and its his work there that culminates in an accident that leaves him with this peculiar, and dangerous, shape-shifting condition that he cannot fully control.
Tony - Slytherin. As intelligent as Tony is, he’s not that interested in knowledge for knowledge’s sake, but more for how he can use it to benefit himself (and, later, others). He’s also a very ambitious person, and willing to pursue that no matter the odds. I don’t know that he would go down a traditional career path as such, but would create several new spells and potions, perhaps refine wand-making techniques, perhaps even find ways of integrating muggle technology with magic.
Natasha - Slytherin. Natasha may not be ambitious, as such, but she is clever, cunning and has learned to adapt and do whatever she needs to do to survive. I can see her as a metamorphmagus, and a mistress of potions and spells that she can use to enhance her natural ability to disguise herself, all of which makes her a very valuable asset to the special Auror branch she works for that involves many undercover missions.
Clint - Hufflepuff. He’s not one for flashy displays of daring or particularly values that idealistic sort of courage in others, but he does care about fairness and doing the right thing, and giving people second chances. He’s determined, and loyal and he will see things through to the end. Career wise I can actually see him starting out as a Curse Breaker, often working closely with the Ministry. (When he was at Hogwarts he was a Seeker on the Quidditch Team, and got nicknamed Hawkeye for his unerring ability to spot the Snitch even at the far end of the pitch. To no one’s surprise when he learned to cast a Patronus, it was a hawk.)
Thor - Gryffindor. The most Gryffindor, he prides himself on being brave and daring, is a bit hotheaded and tends to jump into things without thinking them through, but at heart he wants nothing more than to be a good person and to do right. And he values that same sense of goodness and bravery in others. Honestly, I think he would be a big ol’ jock and end up going into professional Quidditch, ending up a star Chaser and Captain.

It (2017) Sorting
Hi there guys! I (Mod Star, from Hufflepuff) saw this movie a couple weekends ago, and I adored it, so I thought I’d sort the Losers Club and Pennywise!
Now, I KNOW there is a second movie coming out later, and the kids may ‘change’ as they get older, and Pennywise isn’t It’s true form, and all that, but the kids are about the right age at 13 or so to be sorted at Hogwarts, so even when the second film comes out, it won’t matter. The sorting hat never makes mistakes anyway, does it?
After you’ve read my sorting (and you’ve seen the movie, hopefully), tell me, who is your favourite of the Losers? And what did you think of my sort? Do you agree or disagree with where I put any of the kids or It?
My personal favourite of the Losers is Bev, with Eddie, Bill or Richie coming a close second!
(I’ve put the sorting under a cut, so you can choose to read it or not, and because it is a long-ish post.)
WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS FOR IT, WHICH UNFORTUNATELY CONTAINS SOME MENTIONS OF PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SEXUAL ABUSE. I HAVE CHOSEN GIFS THAT DON’T HAVE ANY BLOOD OR ABUSE MENTIONED OR DEPICTED, HOWEVER.
Bill Denbrough: Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Bill, the leader of the Losers Club with a stutter is shown to be a relatively smart kid, but it’s his deductive reasoning that puts him into Ravenclaw, like working out using pipes that Georgie could have been at the Barrons, then the sewers and he is also very willing to believe that It is a real thing, showing his creativity and willingness to understand things that seem absolutely insane to everyone else. In that way, he’s like Luna Lovegood. Bill’s fear is his dead brother Georgie, and it manifests in his own basement, where Pennywise uses a puppet of him that gradually rots, before drowning the puppet. He also knows that the only way to get rid of It is to no longer be afraid, but it isn’t a natural thing for him, as he is a normally very easily anxious and scared person, which makes Gryffindor a poor fit for him. If it weren’t for the possibility of finding Georgie or who hurt him, he would have never gone into the house, or sewer, and he is the person who comforts Richie that the Wanted Poster isn’t real, showing his slight detachment from fear.
Ben Hanscom: Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Ben is the first of the kids to recognize that It’s killings are every 27 years, and that the people in Derry disappear 6 times the national average, and he has dedicated his room to working out the numbers and is the key person piecing it all together. He isn’t particularly witty, but his intellect is what would gain him entry to Ravenclaw house, along with his desire to do something good for the world. Many Ravenclaws try to use their intelligence to do something good for humanity with it, and Ben is no exception. Ben’s fear is the history of Derry, which manifests as a headless kid, the same one who was pictured in the library book he was reading. He’s not necessarily scared of it happening to him, but knowing the dark history of his current home is a bit of a scary thing to have under his belt.
Beverly Marsh: Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
Bev is possibly the most tragic of the Losers Club, as her loyalty to her father is the strongest thing she knows, regardless of the fact he sexually and physically abuses her. She can see he’s hurtful, but she doesn’t know what to do, nor does she have the heart to do anything. And really, her fear that It manipulates is possibly the most meaningful. She isn’t scared of zombies, or clowns or anything really, but she is scared of maturing, growing up, being tied to her father forever and bleeding (yes, her menstrual cycle), which had It attack her with the hair she cut off and washed down the drain and cover her and the bathroom with blood. When she becomes a member of the Losers Club, her loyalty slowly shifts over the course of the film to be more towards them than her father, and it takes one final straw for her to cut ties with him, and she is the glue holding the Losers Club together. She just wants to be fair, kind and loyal to the people she cares about, even if it is destroying her mentally. While she could be a decent fit for Gryffindor as she does stab Pennywise through the head in the Wellhouse, it was only because her friends were in danger, not because she wanted to, and she does prefer to take a sideline in the later battle until the last minute.
Richie Tozier: Gryffindor
Tumblr media
Richie, the loudest member of the Losers Club has a fear of clowns and suffers from neglect, hence why he is so loud, so he isn’t forgotten. He is one of the 3 who ventures into the abandoned house to find It, and tends to be able to control his fear, except for when he sees the Missing Poster with all of his details on it, and he starts panicking and crying, which shows a fear of many Gryffindors; he doesn’t want to be lost to time or forgotten by anyone. He is also the one to initiate the fight at the creek with Henry and his gang of goons, and like a Gryffindor, he swears, can be a little (okay, a LOT) inappropriate and is unabashedly himself. When nobody else wants to go into the House, including himself, he volunteers anyway, showing his true grit and nerve.
Stan Uris: Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Ravenclaw is a very broad house that takes anyone from the Luna Lovegoods who will believe in just about anything, and then those who use logic to decide something can’t possibly be real. Stan is a Ravenclaw who finds it harder to believe in something he can’t prove, as It seems to be in everyone’s head, and manifesting in real life, rather than a real thing that EVERYONE sees, and the fact that’s It shifts It’s form makes it even more unlikely. To Stan, wouldn’t It have a consistent form that EVERYONE sees, not something different every time? His fear is the disappointment of his father, seeing he is the Rabbi’s son, and the painting shows that he is scared of things he doesn’t understand and shouldn’t exist, like creepy women from paintings and a mysterious entity that scares, harms and kills children and adults. To Stan, if It exists, literally anything can, which is the scariest thing of all.
Mike Hanlon: Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
Mike just wants Derry to be safe. He also wants his friends to stay safe, and he has such compassion that he won’t kill sheep, even though it’s his job and his grandfather wants him to do it. The only reason he harms Henry Bowers is because he was going to kill his friends, with whom his loyalty lies. He tends to run from danger, and his bullies, but he is scared of fire and what has happened to his now dead family, as Pennywise creates a fire behind a door, with the cries of Mike’s family. He works hard at his job (though he hates it), and is also a big proponent of justice. Hufflepuff would be a great fit for Mike, even though Ravenclaw does come a close second.
Eddie Kaspbrak: Slytherin
Tumblr media
Eddie is another interesting member of the Losers Club, being that he is an INSANE hypochondriac thanks to his mother with possession issues and her use of meds and made up illnesses to control Eddie. His biggest fear is illness and disease, which It manifests as a Leper, but his belief in his diseases shows a very strong sense of preservation of self. He is shown being petrified of all sorts of diseases, like his asthma, allergies and the current AIDS epidemic, talking about how someone he knows ‘got it from touching a dirty pole on the subway’. Eddie is also determined to make sure It dies, and with luck, suffers at the hands of himself and his friends, as he is determined It won’t harm anyone else. He’s also a little dry in his humour, like many real life Snakes can be, and the loyalty to ONLY his inner circle is what keeps him safe. He values fraternity, and sticking to a group as well, though he won’t voluntarily go into the abandoned house, but he’ll do it because he drew the straw.
It/Pennywise the Dancing Clown: Slytherin
Tumblr media
Pennywise lives for the fear. It deliberately antagonizes and scares children to somehow make them a more tasty meal, which involves learning and manipulating their fear, and manifesting as the worst possible version of it, like a Leper, blood, a rotting Georgie, dead ancestors and of course, clowns. It is like a Dementor in that way, but unfortunately, saying ‘Riddikulus’ won’t get rid of It. Like the typical evil Slytherin like Voldemort, Grindlewald and Umbridge, It also has a strong sense of self-preservation, running when It is stabbed in the head by Bev, or when the Losers Club almost kills It towards the end of the film, retreating deep into the sewers. It’s ability to turn into whatever cares a person is also incredibly resourceful, as It knows one thing won’t work for all, and It hides in abandoned building and sewers to avoid detection. Voldemort would love It, but Salazar certainly wouldn’t have. I imagine Salazar would have actually been ashamed of a Slytherin who LIVES to scare and harm and kill others.

The chocobros (+Cor, Ravus, Ardyn, Luna, and anyone else you feel like?) Hogwarts houses. I have my own headcanons but I'm interested to hear your take on it.
*cracks fingers*  *cries bc it hurt*
This is a very lovely ask. I absolutely adore the Hogwarts world, so thanks a lot for asking!
As a note, I’d like everyone reading this to know that this is just my opinion and it may differ from yours. So please be careful to not get upset and let’s just be nice to each other, okay? No wars, please, hahaha.
Remember that being in a House doesn’t mean you don’t have the qualities of the other houses; being in a House means that you value its respective qualities above the others’.
[After writing this] Woah man I thought most would be Slytherin but Hufflepuffs went on the loose?
If I had to work as the hat, this is what I’d say.
Noctis is the first one I try to write and I’m already conflicted. I’m sincerely lost on Noctis, not sure which House I’d put him in. I get sort of Ravenclaw vibes. It may be just my subconscious toying with the blue tie he wears to school in Brotherhood, but I do kind of get Ravenclaw vibes. More than treasuring knowledge and wisdom, I think he values them above courage, justice or ambition. He’s not seeking for more power or the throne just for the throne itself, and we see him think instead of just throwing himself to the danger (like a good hot-headed Gryf). He’s the one that learns the most in the journey, and he ends up valuing it. His own way, he tries to be wise and do what’s right according to this.
Gladio is a Hufflepuff. You’d think he’s a Gryffindor because we associate him so much to color red and fire and going around roaring and hitting things, but nope. Gladio is brave, but not reckless. He thinks things through very well before he gets on it. He doesn’t attack just to attack, he’s prudent. A Hufflepuff, besides treasuring loyalty and justice, values hard-work. He says he does his duty with pride, which means he treasures and values his loyalty for Noct (like only a Shield can be towards his king), and he works hard all the time to be strong enough for Noctis (his Episode focuses fully not on self-discovery journeys and angst, he’s focusing on becoming better and working hard for Noctis, the figure where all his loyalty is in).
Ignis is a trouble to me, hahaha. He’s somewhere between Hufflepuff and Slytherin for the same reason than Ravus descibed below.
He’s the smart guy and knows lots of things so it’s easy to think he’s a Ravenclaw, but I think people still confuse the abilities a person has to those that they value most. "It is our choices, Harry, that show us who we truly are, far more than our abilities." - Dumbledore.
I have not known a character that values and holds loyalty so dearly and so greatly as he does. All that he does and has ever done is always for Noctis; Ignis would never ever do anything against him, and we see him make huge sacrifices for him. This speaks of a huge, great sense of loyalty, which he may value above everything else. According to HP wiki, A Hufflepuff values “hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play.”  I think I like to see him a Hufflepuff for these reasons.
Though, like Ravus, he has the description of a Slytherin. Cunning, with his own hint of malice, would do (and actually does) anything and everything no matter the consequences or who is in the way or what he has to do to get to his goal. And here I’m troubled because while he does have this Slytherin qualities, it’s more of a method, as his priority is his loyalty for Noctis.
Sopleasedon’tbeupsetIseehimasHufflepuff but Slytherin suits him perfectly if anyone wants to disagree.
Prompto is a Hufflepuff, not only because of the golden and black trademark colors. More than treasuring courage, or knowledge, or ambition, he values loyalty. He started training not for the sake of courage, but because he wanted to accompany Noctis to make sure he would be alright. And when he fights it’s not because he wants to challenge himself to test how brave he is, it’s because he wants to be of use for Noctis and the guys. He’s not in the journey with the desire to get something other than Noct’s wellbeing. Prompto got into this situation because his loyalty for Noctis took him there, and he gladly accepts it, so long he can stay with his friend, no matter what he has to face.
Cor is a Ravenclaw. Cor may have been upset in his younger years because he was sure he was a Gryffindor, but nope. A teenager so brave he was stupid, Cor learns that strength and power is not everything in life. He becomes wise and tries to share this wisdom later on; it’s not about war and chopping arms off, it’s about the meaning of things and the inner strength which will make of the outter strength valuable. Cor grows as a smart and very wise man, shown whenever he’s on-screen, Episode Gladio included.
Ravus may surprisingly be a Hufflepuff. While we see him do every and any thing that will let him get closer to his goal, like a good Slytherin, his only reasons to do that is to get to his only one priority; Lunafreya. All that Ravus does and ever did was keeping in mind Lunafreya’s wellbeing and health, which speaks highly of his loyalty. His sense of justice may be weak in a beginning, but later on it becomes strong enough that he faces the very same Niflheimian Emperor himself standing in favor of Lucis and Noctis.
So while he would do (and does) anything in his power no matter the consequences so long he gets what he wants, this is only a method; his real priority and the reason he behaves like a Sly is his loyalty (Lunafreya, and later on Lucis too), and his sense of justice kicks in as well.
Ardyn is the face of Slytherin. This sucks a bit because it makes it seem into the idea of “Slythering are the bad guys” and “the bad guys are Slytherin”, but it’s not that. Ardyn is a cunning person that would (actually does) do anything so long he gets what he wants, whatever the price. Cunning, wit, resourceful.
Lunafreya is a Gryffindor. She’s wise and tries to share this with Noctis and everyone, but I don’t think wisdom is what she values the most. We see her act rather recklessly in Kingsglaive and face the dangers without hesitating, thing that is both stupid and brave, like a good Gryf. In the English version, when Leviathan starts raging at her, she’s like “Leviathan... >:(”, but in the JPN she’s like “LEVIATHAN! D: This girl is absolutely reckless, I tell you. It also seems like one could get on her nerves if triggered correctly, she’ll just grab her trident, and go smash sense into the enemies. Hot-headed, if you will, just we don’t see it because she’s prudent and patient on-screen.
Aranea is a Slytherin. Easy peasy. A mercenary, she sticks to the side that gives her better things. While that’s true and a big reason to give her qualities of a Slytherin, it’s not what she values more. She seems to value resourcefulness better, which is still a Slytherin quality. “Stop moping, start hoping” -> stop wasting time and do useful things already, get on it fast. So, Slytherin she goes.
Loqi is, surprisingly, a Gryffindor. Hot-headed, short-tempered and reckless little ball of fury. He’s the kind to slam doors when upset and gets very stubborn when facing an enemy; he’s on that fragile line between being brave and reckless/stupid, pretty much like any Gryffindor.
Weskham is a Ravenclaw. I don’t really know why, I just wanted him to be here.
I wanted to do Regis and Clarus too but I was starting to break my brain and it feels like I’m deactivating a bomb hahahaha.
Hnngdnf, please don’t be upset with my choices, ahahah. I just made a Ravenclaw protagonist with three Hufflepuff companions. They’re four so they’re the best party to give a House to each one, but this is where my train of thoughts led me.
I guess loyalty is a very strong quality shown among the bros, hence my head going to Hufflepuff over there.
I do, however, enjoy of other Hogwart Houses choices I’ve seen around, so anyone is free to share their thoughts as well and not stick with these opinions if you don’t want to. :)
And that’s what I think! Thanks a lot for the question! ☆ ~('▽^人)
I FEEL SO NERVOUS ABOUT POSTING THIS SO I’LL DO IT BEFORE I THINK TOO MUCH ABOUT IT HERE I GO-

The Flash & Harry Potter
Given that I’m midway through season 2 in my rewatch of CW’s The Flash (I only made it to, like, the season 2 finale last time), I must sort the characters into Hogwarts Houses.
Barry Allen: Hufflepuff
Reason: He is loyal to a fault, believes that all things should be as fair and just as possible, and 98.9% of the time tries work things out so nobody gets hurt; he always puts others before himself, and works harder than anyone else I’ve seen in the whole show — also his alternate dimension self is a total background character
Francisco Ramon: Gryffindor
Reason: As much as he cares about other house’s values like justice and progress and ambition, and as loving and loyal as he is to his friends, he has a penchant for “cool stuff” that’s on par with The Marauders and a willingness to fight that surpasses even his own fears
Caitlin Snow: Ravenclaw
Reason: Like Cisco and Barry, she values justice and loyalty and fairness and cherishes her loved ones deeply, but she also has a “default” belief that basically anything and everything can be scienced — the solution is always, always, always to know more and to work as intelligently with that knowledge as possible, regardless of whatever else her end goals and values may be
Iris West: Gryffindor
Reason: If you’ve lost count of the number of times they’ve run headlong into danger WITHOUT treating their own well-being as an afterthought the way a Hufflepuff would, then they’re probably a Gryffindor; Iris is almost always looking for the most direct way to do things, whether it’s for her family or her friends or her city or herself, and doesn’t shy away from the risks involved in taking the direct path — even when people tell her that’s exactly what she should be doing
Joe West: Muggle, No House
Reason: While I believe Joe would probably be a Hufflepuff because of how deeply he cares about others and how intensely he values family and how quickly he defaults to “use me as a sacrifice” when his loved ones are at risk, I just cannot imagine him being one to fit into the wizarding world; he is the man who has 3 wizard kids and just... tries his best to deal with that and understand their world from afar, not a wizard himself
Wally West: Gryffindor
Reason: Like his sister, Wally tries to take the most direct path to move towards his goals — or away from the things that hurt him, as the case may be — and while he can have a bit of that Slytherin selfishness and cynicism, he’s ultimately the type to try and keep things fair and protect others as much as he can without doing the Hufflepuff thing and neglecting to save himself; he has this sense of nobility/justice/heroism that, try as he might in the wake of his upbringing and the losses it’s caused, he can never truly escape
Eobard Thawne: Slytherin
Reason: Ambition has been Eobard’s defining characteristic from the very beginning, and he has used cunning and deception to try and achieve his ambitions in a way that is TEXTBOOK Evil Slytherin Character; he pulls his enemies close just to stab them in the back, and is probably a teacher that everyone hates but upperclassmen don’t warn underclassmen about because having him tear you down is a “rite of passage” of some sort
Harrison Wells: Slytherin
Reason: He can be extremely single-minded in his goals, distrusting of others, overly independent, cunning, and deceptive — but, he has a low-key tsundere kind of love for the people around him and still values life and love and justice in a way that keeps him human; he is a Good Slytherin, and would probably be that one Slytherin Head Boy who redeems his entire House by taking a flock of misfit underclassmen under his wing (ie, the rest of Team Flash + his daughter) and helping them navigate the school and bring up their grades and deal with bullies and such
Tell me if you think I’m wrong about anyone or want my House Sorting for any other characters from this universe! Up to the end of season 2, anyway. 😅

IT Chapter 2 Characters Sorted Into Hogwarts Houses | ScreenRant
With the release of IT Chapter Two the epic saga of the Losers Club and their war against the demonic force most commonly referred to as Pennywise has come to it's blockbuster conclusion. And (minor spoiler alert for the information ahead) it's revealed that the dark magic that has been affecting Derry for so long has existed within the literal ground of the land since before history even began.
RELATED: 10 Great Gifts For Fans Of IT
So, with Derry situated on top of some of the most powerful mystical energy on earth, it seems like it would have helped if the town of Derry had some education in the ways of magic and how to wield it for their own safety and benefit. Namely, it would have really helped if they had their own Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So, if the Losers Club and the rest of the Derry population had the opportunity to attend Hogwarts, which Hogwarts house would they all have ended up in?
10 The Shopkeeper - Slytherin
Tumblr media
In a little meta wink at the audience members who are big fans of Stephen King's work, IT Chapter Two included a scene of Stephen King playing the shopkeeper in a local thrift store in Derry. The shopkeeper gouges Bill Denbrough when Bill rediscovers his old bike at the store, which goes to show that the shopkeeper is a pretty cunning and clever dude who knows how to play a situation to his advantage. Plus, wearing a face as recognizable as Stephen King's in a little Maine town of all places while still remaining inconspicuous is impressively sneaky for a supposed small town store owner.
9 Henry Bowers - Slytherin
Tumblr media
Students who wind up in Slytherin aren't only bullies or psychopaths, but it does seem like Slytherin is home to a disproportionately high number of bullies and psychopaths. And Henry Bowers has always been an angry and scary person who loves to watch other people suffer.
RELATED: 10 Hilarious IT Memes That'll Make Pennywise Seem Hilarious
Henry may have been able to blend right in with the rest of the Slytherin students, and it's not too hard to imagine him as one of Draco Malfoy's henchmen. However, one would hope that a Slytherin education would have allowed Henry to channel more of his negative characteristics in a positive way and get him off the path of total destruction.
8 Mike Hanlon - Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
Mike Hanlon would have undoubtedly been a superstar student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he likely would have been a school prefect. He is also a man who was far braver than most Gryffindors and much smarter than many Ravenclaws. However, the house that suits him best is Hufflepuff. The values of Hufflepuff are a happy and peaceful home, loyalty and friendship, and a commitment to justice and fair play. That describes Mike Hanlon to a T. Hufflepuffs are often the unsung heroes of Hogwarts, but a student like Mike would have given Helga's house the opportunity to shine.
7 Ben Hascom - Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Like everyone else in the Losers Club outside of Mike, Ben Hanscom returns to Derry 27 years after their original fight against Pennywise playing catch up. He's trying to figure out the situation when he's already behind the curve, but he seems to be able to inherently understand and think through what needs to be done in order to effectively battle It as well as keep as many people safe as possible. Plus, it seems like Ben is a very accomplished superstar in his regular life and has coped with his childhood trauma the best out of everyone, which shows there's a big brain to go along with his big heart.
6 Stanley Uris - Hufflepuff
Tumblr media
Honestly, if someone like Stanley Uris wound up at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry it'd be pretty ironic, because Stanley is the kind of person who would rather not be involved in the world of magic at all.
RELATED: The 10 Most Anticipated Horror Movies of 2019
Stanley was forced into the situation with It when he was a child and he is not able to cope with being dragged back into it as an adult. He's a good person and a loyal friend which makes him a good fit for Hufflepuff anyway, but it would have also been a good match because it would allow him to explore magic without any pressure to be the hero, genius, or villain.
5 Eddie Kaspbrak - Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Eddie Kaspbrak is yet another member of the Losers Club who was essentially conscripted into the fight against Pennywise just by virtue of who his friends were, and while he is a morally decent person he has never had a moral compulsion great enough to drive him to actually go on the offense against Pennywise. He knows that it's a fight that needs to be fought, but he doesn't want to be the one to square up. However, despite his lack of moral commitment, he is an undeniably intelligent person, sometimes to the point of his own detriment. For that reason, he's Ravenclaw.
4 Richie Tozier - Ravenclaw
Tumblr media
Richie Tozier and Eddie Kaspbrak have one of the closest bonds in the entire Losers Club group, and it's easy to understand why. They are both pretty decent people who aren't quite morally righteous enough to want to involve themselves in a potentially deadly battle against a massive force of evil, and their desire to keep themselves safe definitely overrides most of their impulses to do the more dangerous right thing. But Richie is absolutely the most quick-witted member of the Losers Club, so he obviously would have been the rascally class clown of house Ravenclaw at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
3 Bill Denbrough - Gryffindor
Tumblr media
Within the Losers Club in IT Chapter Two, Bill Denbrough is pretty much the alternate universe version of Neville Longbottom. He is at his heart a painfully shy and insecure individual, but he has a very strong sense of justice and has a moral backbone that drives him to do things that he would normally never think he's capable of.

And he's not being heroic because he wants to play the hero, his feelings are incredibly genuine and he feels a personal responsibility to be the one at the front of the line to fight. He is the kind of student Godric Gryffindor would have been proud to call his own.
2 Beverly Marsh - Gryffindor
Tumblr media
Out of the entire Losers Club, Beverly Marsh is probably the toughest and bravest of all. It may be because she had the most frightening home life out of anyone, but she is truly made of steel and she is always willing to go up against an enemy that is stronger and more powerful than she is, even if their power seems almost godlike. Every member of the Club contributed something to the group overall, and what Beverly did for the rest of the Losers was give them the strength and courage to do what they were afraid of, and she did that by leading by example.
1 Pennywise - Slytherin
Tumblr media
Pennywise is the purest evil being that the Losers Club had ever and will ever come across, but he is also a pretty complete embodiment of everything that house Slytherin is meant to value and represent. Pennywise looks out for his own interests above all other things, he feels superior to all of the humans around him and enjoys flaunting that, and he uses a lot of wily tricks and cunning maneuvers to trap all of his victims in just the way that he wants them to. Pennywise is honestly probably more Slytherin-like than Salazar Slytherin himself, which is scary.

Vee Hauntley’s Personality Profile
Hogwarts Houses
[Hufflepuff Primary] When reading about the primaries, I was surprised at how much Slytherin spoke to Vee’s personality. Because she IS fiercely loyal to her loved ones. However, she values community as a whole and feels drawn towards those in need of her help and protection. I feel like if a threat ever faced the town, she’d be the one trying to motivate her friends and family to help her help those in need. And thus, I decided that she would be better suited for Hufflepuff.
[Gryffindor Secondary] Vee is impulsive and will face her problems head on, often forgetting to think before she speaks (and often facing the consequences of her actions). She is brave to a fault and believes strongly in trying to do the right thing. I also feel like she possesses the Gryffindor trait of staying true to herself and that is the source of her struggle with hiding her true nature.
Of course the logical question is “Well, why don’t you act like a vampire then?” And her answer would be that she values her humanity as well. It’s an eternal struggle between present vampire nature and past humanity. She feels a strong connection to both.
Ilvermorny House
[Puckwudgie] Vee’s quiz actually had her tied between Puckwudgie and Wumpus, but once I had read the descriptions I felt she would make a better Puckwudgie. Vee’s greatest strength is the defining feature of this house, her heart. She demonstrates love, kindness, care and passion in everything she does. Her greatest concern is protecting those around her, especially those those with which she has formed a bond.
Enneagram
[Type 2 (The Helper) with 2w3 wing] Need a helping hand or an encouraging word? Vee is your vampire! She is highly motivated by her desire to help others whether it be through physical means or simply being that ray of sunshine, even when she’s not feeling particularly sunny herself. She cares so much, it hurts.
The type 3 wing is on a significantly lower level, but it makes sense. She is confident and desires validation. Just not in the typical way. Her wish for acceptance and validation is on a root identity level. She doesn't just want to feel worthy, but is driven by a desperate desire for people to look past the perceived monster on the outside to the heart beneath.
Meyer Briggs Personality Type
[ESFP (The Entertainer)] When I saw the results of Vee’s quiz I had one of those “Of course she’s the entertainer. Duh.” moments. While she doesn’t necessarily aim to be the center of attention, she has a tendency to buck tradition and wishes to experience life to its fullest.
As far as the trait she relates to most, I believe its “Feeling”. Following her heart is huge to her and, with a few rare exceptions, keeping the peace is something she strives for on a daily basis. Overall, she is people oriented and is generally worried for everyone except for herself.
Moral Alignment
[Neutral Good] This moral alignment aptly describes Vee’s personality and code of conduct. Sure, she appreciates good order and discipline, but is perfectly happy to work outside the law if its for the greater good. She is concerned with fairness and the well being of her friends and peers, so you may see her purposely orchestrating some outrageous plot that breaks all of the rules if it helps a friend achieve a life long dream. Or breaking the established hierarchy of the school to face down a bully in the interest of protecting her fellow classmates. Conversely, she is happy to respect the laws/rules until such a time as she determines more good can come from breaking them.
Sun House
[Libra] So, I always pick my characters birthdays based on zodiac traits, and I picked Libra for Vee because even in the beginning, I imagined her as a generally fair minded, well balanced individual. Not only that, but part of her journey is seeking justice for vampire kind in that she wants the world to have a fair and reasonable view of her kind, judging each on their individual actions rather than the actions of the many.

DBH characters sorted into Hogwarts houses
(you can’t change my mind)
Connor - Slytherin - He’s determined and throughout the game works towards a certain goal (though he doesn’t necessarily achieve it). However the game is played he’s shown to be resourceful and at points cunning. Stop putting him in Ravenclaw because he’s smart like honestly it was Salazar Slytherin that valued cleverness.
Kara - Hufflepuff - both before and after deviating she’s hardworking, and her motivation is drawn from her loyalty to those she cares for.
Markus - Slytherin - he’s determined to gain the freedom for all androids, plus from the moment he showed up at Jericho he’s shown to be a strong leader. This is typical of Slytherins, and those traits whether he’s played as a pacifist or not.
Hank - Ravenclaw - though during the time of the game he lack motivation, he’s worked hard to be good at his job. Ravenclaw values wit, and it’s something he possesses. Furthermore, it’s a house that prides itself on being accepting, and that’s something he learns to be.
North - Gryffindor - she demands justice, though others may not see her methods as fair, and she faces revolution head on. She’s passionate about her cause. Her background also contributes to the brave persona she has.
Josh - Hufflepuff - he’s very patient in his methods, preferring to win the favour of humans peacefully rather than charging right into battle. Nevertheless, if that’s the route Markus choses, Josh is loyal enough to follow him
Simon - Hufflepuff - He’s dedicated to preserving what had been built up at Jericho. He’s also fair to whoever arrives there, and having been there for so long, he clearly demonstrates patience
Luther - Hufflepuff - After ‘waking up’ at Zlatko’s, he clearly works hard to be honest. He also demonstrates great dedication and trust towards Kara and Alice, to the point of being willing to lay down his life for them at a moment’s notice
Alice - Gryffindor - enduring everything she has is incredibly brave of her, and throughout the game she tries to get Kara to make the ‘right’ choices which fits with the ‘just’ nature of the house
Gavin - Slytherin - he’s described as ‘ambitious and unapologetically arrogant’ and ‘will do anything to advance his career’ so idk what else to tell you
Carl - Ravenclaw - as an artist he is shown to value creativity, as shown when he gets Markus to try painting, and really his views toward android are very accepting, which is another trait of this house
Amanda - Slytherin - all her interactions are hugely manipulative and cunning, she praises connor for being smart and getting the job done, and the whole thing where she (+ cyberlife) planned for connor to become a deviant and the seize back control is incredibly sly
Kamski - Ravenclaw - he clearly values intelligence and is sharp witted, furthermore based on the whole ’Kamski Test’ thing he’s evidently willing to do whatever to learn something. He could probably fit into Slytherin too tbh
