The walk back to your dorm was uncomfortable as hell, the headache of the physical exhaustion of James's long-ass practices and having to dodge Sirius's lethal bludgers were making your arms and legs hurt, plus, the constant anxiety of staining your uniform was so stressful. Inside the common room, you see Remus and Lily chatting about the last prefect meeting, who greet you with a small smile and a wave. Remus, the sweet boyfriend he is excuses himself to walk towards you.

"How was practice, love?" He kisses your forehead and you try your best to smile.

"Great, I'm just tired, m'gonna go take a shower." Remus frowns at your lack of excitement, you adored quidditch practice with James and Sirius, who speaking of...

"Darling, every time it happens, you get all moody and is obvious that you're easily annoyed." Sirius chuckled. "I kind of figured it out when you snapped at me, but I did the math and it makes sense, you know."

"So that's why you almost scream at me?" Remus teases you, wrapping an arm around your waist.

"I didn't scream at you." The pout you give him only makes him laugh. "I'm sorry, I know this is no excuse for my bad mood, but it's really fucking uncomfortable when I'm flying. "

"Don't worry, pretty girl." James joins the hug, kissing your nose lovingly. "Let us know for the next time, and if you don't want to go to practice, is fine."

"Why don't you tell me is fine to skip practice?" Sirius glares at James, stabbing him with his grey eyes.

After a shower, you're now comfortably laying under the covers of Sirius's bed, biting on a piece of dark chocolate. He asks, this time kissing your lips, tasting the chocolate.

i'm struggling to see how the script has anything in our favour... pls give me a hand you're my fav st blog and i always reread your posts when i have doubts but nothing is working rn lol

Okay—first off, and probably most importantly: scripts are not law. You cannot and should not take the script more seriously than anything you see on screen, given that its more a starting document that has to be edited and brought to life, not the show in and of itself.

Taking what is in a script and saying "oh no, we lost because THE SCRIPT said" would be like your professor throwing out your final paper, pulling out one of your earlier rough drafts, and saying "THIS is what I need to take most seriously and grade for concepts and final ideation...rather than their final product," with all your incomplete notions, underdeveloped concepts, and even things you realize later didn't work for making your final (actual) points included...which is what people are doing when they take a script more seriously than what they see on screen.

Just like it would make no goddamn sense to do that with an essay, so there's no reason to do it with a script....ESPECIALLY when we know that The Duffers are 1) more collaborative than a lot of creators (there are some directors where the script is law...Matt & Ross just aren't those directors), 2) there are quite literal obvious changes that happened between script and screen between The Piggyback script and The Piggyback itself, and 3) WRITING is not the medium this story is being told in—its television and film.

Scripts should only ever been looked at for the sake of understanding the starting concepts and ideas that M&R were trying to convey + learning their style/tone of writing, given that what was on that page eventually evolved through collaboration & editing to better convey a more cohesive, thematically comprehensive and even complex story on the screen (and the several mediums other than writing that make up a show that aren't writing) itself. Period full stop.

NOW. (cut because image heavy/script breakdown)

Maybe i'm just inoculated to any true doubt at this point, but: I fail to see what happened in this script that we didn't already know? Or...what would inspire so much doubt?

If its about the monologue, we knew already that Mike said he loved her, and if you read the script back in the version we got...El was literally pale, covered in blood, and losing consciousness as Mike was speaking...and holding onto his words like a lifeline because that's what you do when you're being choked to death. The cues in the moments around what Mike says make that clear as day:

Trying to imagine this scene holds any romantic connotations (in the form in the script, because, again, the script is not what ended up on screen) with these cues is like saying someone drowning in a pool wouldn't cling to the words of person trying to save them from the water, or "find strength" to keep trying to live...even if that person was a stranger.

There's nothing inherently romantic about holding onto someone like a lifeline, which is what this script delineates El doing...with a complete absence of positive "romantic" connotations in her or Mike's (or even ANYONE ELSE'S) responses to what's going on in the moment. Everybody literally thinks she's gonna die—and Mike is just saying whatever motivational thing he thinks is gonna get her to use her powers to stop herself from dying...after Will encourages him to use his leadership ability to help her out.

That...is what happened, both in the script and on screen (though the screen version is arguably WAY worse for romantic mlvn...which is a "good" thing if you choose phrase it like that)—

—and given that we have not one, but two different "romantic (or sexual) tension" moments written in this script as well, its really clear that the intention of the monologue was different than the others.

Even the scene where Argyle calls mike "Romeo" is more romantic-coded than that little monologue...and instead of lovebirds who get their moment like Lucas and Max, we immediately cut to Will being sad about it, which means we weren't allowed to just be happy about their little "flirty" moment anyway.

....like? This is just an ask so I'm not gonna go hard in on it (or comb over 127 pages again) but??? If the script gave you any doubt over what we've spent an entire year breaking down the show itself, the most important thing you can do is put it back in its correct context.

We're fine. Nothing changed. Everything is the same as it was yesterday morning, the canon of the show is still the canon, and the release of this was a rough ideation draft shared for the Emmys and not the final product we all drew our conclusions from.

I just. I guess I hope that helps you lmao. Also, I probably won't be doing any further breakdowns of this script though I did already pull some things I enjoyed before.

Rook: From the pacing, I'm getting the vibe that this one might be another 4 part story? mayhaps? Or maybe Rook isn't like the other girls TM and gets something different.

Vil: I haven't read this one yet, but I'm excited to sit down with it soon! What's the overall length/number of parts you're planning for at the moment?

I'm pretty sure this was asked at some point before, but what's your stance on epilogues? There has been... discussion. about a Leona epilogue before, I recall, but are you considering epilogues for all of them, or only specific characters?

What's like. your vibe, rn? With each of the stories? Like in terms of "I'm really feeling this, so I'm working on it and it might be posted in the nearish future, assuming no disasters" to like "I plan to continue this, but not rn. I've got a different worm chewing on the brain lettuce atm". I'm gonna put this all under a little cut thing just because I feel like there's quite a lot! So here we go~

Jack -- It would still only be two parts I think! I only had short plans for that going forward, and it's currently at the bottom of my bucket list so to speak, not for any big reason just because Jack isn't one of my favorites so he falls behind on what I actually want to write.

Rook -- Was a bit more up in the air in terms of what I wanted to do. Had started writing a third part for it, but Rook's in particular felt very like, episodic? If that makes sense? Rather than an overarching cohesive arc. So I could write so much more little random side stories! But aside from a bit I had sort of planned regarding Riddle, there wasn't too much specific I had in mind.

Vil -- Probably one or two more parts to wrap up what I wanted with him; most likely one of the same length as the first. But that one of all of them may get a separate little piece because I am such a sucker for mermaids/sirens soooo that may get some special love

Epilogues -- bit of a mish mash. Really depends how I'm feeling tbh. If I want to write something, I'll word vomit like no one's business, but if I'm not overly invested then I probably won't bother writing one. But again

Vibe Check -- I’m absolutely wiped. Not with these stories, because I do genuinely love them. But like, back to back tough placements on top of illness is a trip. So I’m a bit more tired and less motivated than I normally am, just because most of my brain is chewing on actual school work and case reports and trying to not make myself look like an idiot every time I’m asked for a diagnosis list and go “uuuuhhhhhhhh.” But! I have some brain worms. Right now — big thing I’m working on is the second half of a very long commission. Which is loads of fun but also there’s so much to chew over there, so that takes a lot of my brain. On the side, I was really also writing my Vil Siren Part 2. Because that’s also a lot on the brain and it’s very different Vibe to the commission, so like it’s a good one to go back and forth between depending on what mood I’m in. Jamil is also very On My Brain right now oddly enough. I think because I read a short little Naga piece a while ago and it reminded me how much I love them. So that's on my brain a lot. As for the others, Jack has sorta fallen to the wayside admittedly. Mostly because I adore him as a Bro, but he’d just not usually a character my brain swoons over, so he’s sort of just… existing. I also wasn’t entirely sure where I wanted to go with that other than just “oh wow we fixed it together!” And that’s a factor too. As for other things, the birthday one comes back and forth depending on my mood, but idk if that’ll ever go up. I have lots of it written, but not enough to post or really toss together straight away. If that makes sense

Zeth’rinn is just. whatever’s the flirtiest possible thing. Even if it doesn’t make sense. ‘I’ll Bregan your D’aerthe, valentine’. what does that mean, Zeth. what does that mean.

and since I've got Rune brainrot (again), his would be like 'the fastest way to my heart is through the third and fourth rib. don't miss, valentine'

as for doing special holiday things:

Obedience boys are both kinda pretending the holiday isn’t that important and then both try and surprise each other with nice things. God, their first valentine’s, Rizeth would so overcompensate, try and have like. the Perfect Date. Flowers. Chocolate. The works. Ashenivir enjoys that stuff, but doesn’t need it.

They’re also going to spend as much time in bed together as possible, and after they’re done fucking each other stupid, Rizeth’s gonna feed Shen chocolates by hand. Because Shen’s still tied to the bed, obviously.

Whoever Zeth’s dating at the time would get treated to something elaborate. He’ll do the equivalent of ‘borrowing’ dads credit card to take someone on the fanciest, most expensive date possible. When he was with Menzova, I think he’d definitely get kinda sad to not be with her on the Love Holiday (she lives in Mythen Thaelas, and he was on the surface for a good chunk of their relationship. they seperated bc of it eventually, but it was friendly)

oh my god, additional thought: Zeth making valentines for every single Bregan D'aerthe member currently at the safehouse. Just painstakingly writing them out. Valas is bemused by this.

...i'm realising now that I think Zeth has a bit of a longstanding crush on Valas, who is never going to let anything happen because he helped raised that boy and thinks of him like a weird little cousin/step child.

Hey! You're in luck anon cuz I've been on some new antibiotics from my dermatologist for my severe acne and they make me nauseous a lot 🤪 so it is not hard at all for me to imagine needing comfort from feeling sick rn haha.

I decided to make this about being sick in general though and not just nausea, hope that's alright and hope you enjoy!

Peter can almost immediately sense something is wrong

you've been acting off since you woke up, the life sucked from your face and your movements more sluggish

thankfully neither of you had anywhere to be today, but still, you're not usually like this even on days off

he notices you haven't eaten your breakfast, and you usually always do when he makes things for you

"What's wrong, darling?" he asks.

"I just feel really...weird today," you mumble. "Like everything hurts. And I'm super nauseous, and I'm afraid to eat because I might throw up,"

"Oh, hun," he takes your chin between his fingers. "Don't worry, you won't on my watch. I'll take care of you,"

he gets you something to eat that's a little more bland so it won't upset your stomach, and a cup of your favorite tea

he then pulls you to the couch and holds you, covered in the softest blanket you own

"I hate feeling like shit," you groan, a single tear falling down your cheek from what feels like your entire body failing you.

"Where's your pain besides the nausea?"

"I have an awful headache too, and just general aches all over," you reply.

"I could fix that,"

"Peter, no-" you shake your head. You hate when he uses his powers for silly little things like this. Sure, he's powerful and can handle it, but you still try not to ask him for anything.

"Darling, please, let me take away at least some of your pain,"

hi! i just finished reading atyd from Sirius’s point of view and I was just wondering one thing—did you write in Tonks becoming closer to Remus towards the end to stick to canon of them getting married and having Teddy? if so, do you think Remus really married her because he moved on and loved Tonks, even if it wasn’t the same as the love he had for Sirius? Hope that makes sense, sorry!

oooh ok hello very interesting question but i feel like i have a lot to say so i'm gonna put my answer under a cut! also still planning to write a tonks oneshot for "another perspective" at some point wherein these questions would be answered, but since that probably will not be happening for a very long time the following will essentially be what i was envisioning for the canon-compliant remadora i wanted to write:

ok so first off gonna start out with the disclaimer that like...in terms of personal preference, i normally hc remus as a gay man and tonks as a lesbian and just ignore everything going on in canon w remadora + teddy. BUT since i was writing a canon-compliant story it was an interesting challenge to think about what their relationship might look like, and i essentially created like...the most angsty version possible in my head lol. so, to answer ur questions, this is my vision/interpretation of a canon-compliant remadora:

starting with tonks -- i imagine tonks as a character that has sort of struggled with identity her whole life. like, as a metamorphmagus (or whatever the term is i don't feel like googling rn) i think her perception of herself would be very shaped by the fluidity of her appearance and this ability to sort of shift into whatever people want. and i also imagine her as a character who's like, a little clumsy, a little abrasive, always sort of been told she's too much. so i imagine her sort of shifting her appearance as she grows up to try to make people like her and struggling with this deep insecurity that who she actually is is someone that is fundamentally unlikeable, someone that is too much. throw in some mommy issues and an additional anxiety surrounding gender--again, because like...she can literally change her appearance at will! what ties her to one gender??--and we get this character who is very young, trying to find her place in the world, deeply insecure about whether she could ever be someone truly loveable, whose first line of defense against that insecurity is to alter her appearance and sort of...put on this performance of being someone else, someone confident and loud and secure.

and i imagine tonks meeting remus and him being sort of like....one of the first people to make her feel comfortable, to a certain extent, about who she is. like--everyone else thinks she's too much, but remus finds it kind of sweet and charming. and i imagine tonks very much latching onto him, in a way that is not necessarily healthy, and thinking this is someone who could love her. but i also imagine that she wasn't oblivious, and that she saw what was going on between remus and sirius, and she like...wanted that. she wanted, so, so badly, for someone to love her in the all-consuming way that remus loved sirius.

and then sirius dies. and suddenly remus is like....a shell of a person, with nothing tethering him to the earth. and i think tonks would have this desire to like...fix him, just to prove to herself that she could. like, it's part of the canon that tonks is very much pursuing remus, even as he's trying to tell her it wouldn't work.

so i imagine tonks pursuing remus and sort of being the only person who's actually trying to deal with him in the aftermath of his grief, the only person who still wants to be around him.

and remus....i think he'd be in this horrible position where like. he knows what tonks wants and he knows he can't give it to her because he truly and genuinely can never love anyone the way he loved sirius. but at the same time, she is all he has left, the only person who is still consistently caring for him, who's there, and he does care for her too. but the more he tries to tell her to just leave him, that she deserves better, the more she digs her heels in and insists that he can love her if he just gives her a chance.

and u guys know me, i love coming up with the angstiest scenarios possible, so i imagine this like. really unhealthy situation where one night tonks transforms to make herself look more like sirius--maybe just the hair, or the eyes, or both--and remus is like please don't do this, please don't do this, but tonks is like you like me like this don't you? don't you?? and remus !!! it's like. what does he have?? except ghosts, and memories, and imitations? and he knows tonks isn't sirius, he knows that, and he knows she never will be, but she's so much like him--so much like him before the war, the same mischief and laughter and brightness, and he can't hold sirius, but he can hold this person who looks so much like sirius, who reminds him in so many ways of sirius, and just....i think he'd fall apart. and he'd let her pick up the pieces, even knowing that there's no way it won't just end up hurting them both.

so. that is my vision for canon-compliant remadora, and honestly i think it fits well with the like. very rapid elopement + pregnancy and then remus freaking out about the pregnancy and trying to leave with harry, because suddenly it's all too real, and he never wanted to be a father, and he doesn't know what do with a kid and a wife and this life that he's sort of fallen into with his grief. which...yeah not a great situation for anyone involved! and obviously this is just one interpretation and it's me specifically interpreting canon in a way that is like. very angsty and unhealthy and fucked up, because that's just the kind of thing i like to write :)

You're the fnaf mutual so I'm going to overthink in your inbox for two seconds. The company in game and books is aware of the terrible past, and is using old code to speed up programming things (the mimic joke here) but what if they are using more of the old technology from the old fnaf pizza places? Wouldn't giving their main attractions actual souls make them more life like and relatable to the public? You can literally talk with Freddy Fazbear, he has a personality and everything, isn't that amazing kids give us your parents money. They certainly used certain parts of the funtime designs for the glamrocks, that ice-cream cake and pinata chest cavity wasn't originally designed for that purpose. The scooper apparently still exists, if it's the original one how much soul juice does it still have/had in it?

I like the idea of greedy corrupt company going into an area and not realizing the consequences because they are too busy looking at the money. Not knowing all of the fine details about everything, not realizing how dire the consequences could get, with money-making in the way to blind them further. I don't know if they're getting this detailed with the story though, I'm just throwing stuff at a wall

I'm very tired so if possible I'll try to add on in the morning but this is pretty tricky to answer bc we got a lot from HW2 but not the main answers we were looking for.

I'm pretty confident rn that none of the animatronics are haunted, just super advanced AI (as was suppose to be the case in Sl before Pizzeria Sim happened(?)) otherwise the mimic virus wouldn't have corrupted them, Freddy not being affected may just have been bad writing or safe mode just wiped it out of him somehow idk. Also they make it quite clear almost all the souls have moved on besides a few.

The only thing we don't know about is all the Nightmarionne imagery, possibly/most likely a ghost that just refused to move on bc they knew what the company was doing and wants them to suffer. Dying on your birthday at Freddy's is one thing, but fianlly killing your murderer only for the company to profit off your death is another. And than to top it off a random endoskeleton LEARNS about William and decided to become him? What a fucking nightma(ionne)!

From how I look at it SL was the branching off point for the advanced AI. Baby was a very advanced AI and the literal ringleader of the operation, she would use Ballora and FT Foxy as lures/distractions while she killed the kids and got FT Freddy to help hide the mess. She was also keen on manipulation "faking" being Elizabeth to earn the nightguard's trust and sympathy so she can scoop out his insides and live inside of him till the body rotten so much they had to stop their collaborative roleplay server for being outdated and jump ship. With this ultimately leading to Baby being kicked out for abusing admin.

Also about the Glamrocks using the Funtime's design, I think this was done so the company could cover the fact their animatroncis were literally designed to kill kids. Like oh no no the Freddy hatch was just for cake! See??? Just a simple reuse of the design to deflect instead of actually being the same design itself. Baby's was easier to defend bc she also literally did use it to produce ice cream, I'm guessing the claw was turned into a hand in HW2 because Scott looked at that and went "okay thats a bit too obvious lemme tweak it a bit" or someone at SW suggested the changed and Scott said yes bc it makes more sense. Chica's voicebox may have also been a reuse of FT Foxy's and Ballora's lures but thats more of a stretch.

So basically SL was the introduction of the advanced AI era, Pizzeria Sim got rid of most of the spirits (and helped trapped William in hell in UCN) and made the companies ads literally help fuck you over on nights which is pretty on the nose looking back, and SB was our formal introduction to the new era of Fazbear Ent and its consequences with HW2 tying them all into one game/one era (HW going up to SL and HW2 having SL and after in it)

Or maybe I just pulled most of that out of my ass bc when it boils down Baby ACTUALLY being Elizabeth and being such a "daddy's girl" instead of the manipulative genius she was in SL literally ruined her character in general idk (like yeah shes a traumatized child but the way it just happens still kinda sucks) . And also again I'm tired as hell!

my favourite character is tigerclaw. i don’t care what anyone says, early warriors he was a good, complex villain and every other villain after wishes they were as good as him. he had a lot of potential and i really hate how in tpb there were a lot of throw away concepts, particularly regarding his character. least favourite off the top of my head is hmm jayfeather. interesting character but his awful personality and the fact that in the end he doesn’t actually do anything major made me lose interest in him. i love him in fanon tho.

worst ship: nightheart/sunbeam makes me vomit atm. i’m a big shadowsight/sunbeam fan rn they are so gay. tnp was a pretty boring arc but had interesting ideas, and i think pot wasnt very good at all but i think the characters had potential.

unpopular opinions (?)...the prophecies begins had its issues but imo will always be the most well written story from the erins. while i don’t like the way they are written sometimes purely for annoying repetitive conflict, i do like tigerheart and onestar as characters and leaders. breezepelt and nightcloud are good characters and i love crowfeather’s complex relationship with them. silverstream didnt do shit shes literally another average love interest idk why theres intense hatred for her.

i was actually writing a rewrite for tpb but eventually it just became an original work that i really enjoy working on. but my ideal warriors, unrelated to my work, is sort of like: there’s no code so the cats being ‘wild and free’ makes more sense, the clowders are one and there are no borders. conflict mostly comes from scrapping for food, family drama, drama between families, and murder. the clowders see other cats as equals, and are mostly indifferent on kittypets but are interested in their relationship with humans as they are rarely seen in the woods. annd i think less evil dictators as antagonists.

i actually do not have any warriors ocs </3 but i will share my ocs from my story soon once i get some stuff worked out. idk if it will be on here tho or on my main

I like how much thought goes into simple things like where to sit down. It's quite ordinary at first glance, but in royal speak, there's actually a lot more that goes into it. The thought process behind Wilbur's sitting is actually kind of fascinating.

Elytra details!! Fascinating. I love that Phil is using details of his home planet to try to reach Wilbur more, while also podding at something he knows Wil is interested in, a neat way to bond. It also helps me, the avid reader, learn so much more about that juicy worldbuilding I'm always craving. Hehehe.

Wilbur has never been more comfortable in Phil's presence as he is right now. It's an interesting comparison to make with what he was like in barely a few chapters previously. He still misses Tommy, with every breath he takes, because it hurts that his best friend, his little brother, had to be so cruel to him and leave him behind the way he seems to have. He keeps hoping that he doesn't run into him, but at the same time, the yearning is so strong. It's so sad.

there's so much thought put into tiny gestures like that. the table is empty except for phil. where wilbur chooses to sit is a statement being made. royal politics are all about the tiny, unsaid statements you make with your actions. after all, actions speak louder than words.

lol ngl I use those reading bits both as a way to show bonding, but also as an excuse to infodump some more worldbuilding in a way that doesn't feel forced. it serves a duel purpose so I really like throwing in those book reading scenes.

wilbur has slowly been getting more and more comfortable with phil, but this fight with tommy is what pushed him over the edge. he literally has no one else now, and he desperately needs someone to lean on. so of course phil is the logical choice here. he misses his brother so badly, but he also is terrified of seeing him again. so instead he sticks to phil, because somehow phil has become more familiar to him than his own brother.

I just read your fic Am I Screaming to An Empty Sky? In one go and I have to admit.. I'm not okay. I've been staring to the ceiling for the last 20min not able to form very coherent thoughts.

You made me feel a lot, I went through all the motions, i yelled, I cried, I cursed Riko and the entire f*cking mafia clan there, my jaw dropped at the Twinyards therapy session, I was there with Andrew throwing himself at Riko at the dinner, my heart swelled for Kevin and Andrew forming a plan and finding hope (me too!), I wanted to reach into the story and take Neil into my arms keeping him safe. The roof scene broke my heart.

I'm rereading aftg rn and just finished The Raven King and am so disgusted with Riko but...after all he's done and what he's responsible for.. It's nothing in comparison to what a psycho monster he is in your fic. Holy shit.

I kinda want to applaud you for pulling off such a dark story? Like WOW I'm just floored. I started writing a dark multi chapter for my main fandom but I couldn't pull it off emotionally for more than a few chapters even though it means a lot to me and my reader's feedback was estathic. I just couldn't put the character through all the pain, so I closed the story. Maybe...hm I think reading your fic here was kinda cathartic for me in the sense that I want to give that fic of mine another try. Thank you so much for that.

It's common that he gets a lot of work, so he just stays at his office for couple of days, even when he is at home. He just goes into his room(totally not me 😇) and just do his work entire day.

It's pretty annoying bc we want to spend some time with our bro!🤬 He would always throw us out of his room or office. Sometimes he would give us random stuff from his office like magnifier( is it that called⁉️) and be like: "go watch bees or something with it".

He is really stressed when he can't get something right. He as well would be so frustrated. ( We still don't know his real personally so this might be a bit oc but let's say he is like that for now 😇😇) He doesn't really like yelling at people for no specific reason, but at those times he is just so stressed he can't really control what he is saying at the moment.🤯

I think we would also go check on him everyday (bc why not🙄🙄🙄😒😒) just to see if he is doing okay. So that day he was really really frustrated, he didn't sleep, he didn't eat anything except drinking coffe, he barely left his stupid office and case he was doing right now was complicated. When we get in, we said like everyday: ( bc we are good sibling uwu😉) "Rise and shine Heizou! If i can help him, if i can take even the slightest care of him, if i can get him better, then. that means i'm not beyond saving, either. if i help him it'll mean i'm ok. that i still have a chance." . and just . smth like a bit of a hero complex moment. but dima is a BOY and yura is a boy TOO so he CANT LIKE HIM!!! because that will be GAY and yura is a young slavic teen lol of course hes got some homophobia shit going on. internalized, repressed, whatever it is its NOT good !!!

yura doesnt rlly love dima as much as he loves the idea of proving that he can prove something to himself, in short ❤️or Something like that. only knew him for a week anyway and for half of it dima wasnt all that concious. dont know if this makes sense. 👍

[parasocial bestie] to both responses on ur wip fics; i'm not a writer myself, like in a fic way altho i pour my brainrots out in a narrative way its a Mess, but i get what you mean!! it does feel like the more you stretch a story out there's bound to be a lot of loose ends and gaps you need to fill since you basically expanded it. in a way its how it is with drawing when you do big Big projects, having too much blank spaces over your main subjects without a decent background of the piece can get Annoying.

i have too many thoughts on death and near death and grief. something about xiao not allowing himself to grieve or process that he'd really been dead for a moment there because he survived, it's in the past, what is there to worry about? what is there to think of? it doesnt matter anymore. lumine struggling to come to terms with how close it was, constantly pushing back the what-ifs, if she'd been sooner if she'd been later if she hadn't been able to help him the way she did if zhongli hadn't come if if if if. zhongli, so accustomed to deaths of those so dear to him and moving forward from it, still shaken to the core because no matter how many times it happens you never really get used to it. it doesnt ever get easier. similar to xiao, telling himself over and over that it doesnt matter, all that matters is that xiao is okay, there's no need to grieve or be upset when he's alright. it's pointless.

lumine (and paimon) (and probably also venti lbr) bonking them both on the head because its important to process your emotions, because the fact that xiao isnt dead doesn't just magically get rid of the fear and the grief that the situation created. yes we Are talking about our feelings you stupid fucks ignoring the elephant in the room will not make the elephant in the room disappear. ignoring your feelings will not make them vanish it will only allow them to fester and grow stronger and more destructive!!!!

you'd think that people who've been alive for thousands of years wouldve learned how to express themselves by now but lumine and venti have to really push them through it.

and idk. just. the physical repercussions and what that means for him mentally. the intense feelings of self hate and uselessness amplified by being stuck in bed, amplified by being unable to move and fight and function the way he used to, having to relearn such "basic" things. he would be SO hard on himself about it. he should be better than this, he shouldve avoided it, it never shouldve happened in the first place, he should be recovering faster (nevermind that he is recovering exceptionally quickly in the first place, all things considered. just adepti things). and working through all of that, working through the frustration and the helplessness, being shown endless patience and love and care through it all, i just. mmmmmmmmmmmmmgmnfmngmfngmfdgnmg fuck.

finding himself useful and kept around and maybe even cared for as a tool vs being very suddenly forced to face the reality that even when he cannot fulfill his duty, even when he cant fight, even when he has no "use" and cant fulfill what he sees as his purpose- he's alive. he's cared for. he's loved and learning and moving forward regardless.
