MP - Translate and Transform Presentation

Explanation

Goodday whoever is reading this,

I know this presentation looks disjointed but let me try and explain all my ideas (it's unfortunate we only had 3 minutes because I like to talk ALLLLOT)

Initially, as displayed in my previous tumblr posts, I wanted to create a monochromatic color set of meals. I'd take pictures of these meals and create an editorial. My target audience for this was working or middle class food enthusiast interested in following trend of monochromatic meals.

I chose red, green and yellow as they are natural colors often seen in meals. Other meals with different colors use food coloring. The food will appear artificial and my goal is to be as natural as possible. The only time I changed the color of an ingredient was rice with tomato to create jellof rice (African delicacy). I planned to make the meals not only aesthetically pleasing but edible. What's the point of cooking food people can't taste?

Unfortunately, due to making it edible, I cooked with a lot of spices and fat (oil). This changed the color in some ways and struggled consuming the pasta (This is an experiment and not a reflect of my cooking skills).

If it was edible and appeared beautiful, I'd call in friends to be tasters. During the tutorial, Dot questioned me "I like the idea of synesthesia but it's not reflected in your final outcome. The illustration cards appear to be used in the case of Covid 19 to educate kids if they lost their taste. Have you spoken to anyone who has synesthesia? Did you consider using a blind taster (blind fold taster) and ask them what colors they think the peppers are? " Obviously, Rich added to that conversation too and in the same direction.

I was also questioned about my rationale. Due to things not working out, I made illustrations as I'm talented in that aspect. I created human persona illustrations because this translate and transform. Thus, I wanted my outcome to be metaphoric but can be understood easily. Finding a typeface for my illustration style was difficult and I envisioned it as a comic type. However, there's no way I'll use comic sans for this project, it didn't sit right with the illustrations and presentation of idea. Thus, I chose Nobel (a basic sans serif). To display taste of fonts (another difficult feat, I admire food brands now but that's why they probably use basic fonts at times), there was coincidently a font pack made by Sarah Hydman (Thank God!). This showed how the colors would taste. The other type, 8 is also an interesting typeface. The counters and eye of the eye is small and makes the type bold. This shows that the flavours are confident in themselves even if they are not the strongest or spicest. The typeface also has a lot of personality and works as a display font but is not legible as body copy unfortunately.

Now, the presentation was near so I didn't fully explore my idea and basically showed the characters educating people how they’ll feel rather than showing them how they’ll feel.

However, I’m proud of myself for doing something unique. Also, I wanted to have fun with it, this why red= spicy/fun, yellow = quirky/energetic, green = super serious but has a soft spot (can be seen in his full image where he is smiling). The correct term to giving human traits to this non-human objects is anthropomorphism.

when you’re drunk

will stay nearby to make sure nobody tries anything weird

he is a certified party animal but knows your limit and will cut you off before you go past it (you’ll thank him for this later)

but if he says he’ll be the designated driver so you can go crazy, uber or ask samu to drive y'all lmao you can’t trust him to stay sober

cuddles with you if you have a hangover the next morning, but, again, teases you so much you end up kicking him out of bed anyway

when he’s drunk

thinks he’s a heavyweight but is actually a lightweight lmao

seriously can’t hang when he’s drunk

gets super flirty (but only with you) and will whine until you give him attention

“(f/n)-channnnn, lemme make out with youuuuuu!”

cue iwaizumi, hanamaki, and mattsun in the back like why tf did we agree to go bar hopping with this mf

and if you’re not there, he’ll send you drunk texts all night long that are very spicy

but he has his brightness turned like all the way up and big font on his phone, so everyone can see he’s thirsting for you

definitely should not be texting such things in public places

makki takes his phone, screenshots the texts, and sends them in the group chat with mattsun and iwaizumi so they can roast him

if he’s at a house party, he’s in the living room, kicking ass on super smash bros (he plays better when he’s drunk???)

or he’s asleep on the couch moments after telling everyone he was going for another drink to “prove he can handle his alcohol”

gets very cuddly and clingy, and you have to constantly keep his hands under control or else he will put you at risk of public indecency

sleeps like a rock when he gets home

when you’re drunk

will dance with you a lot to make sure everyone gets the idea that you’re off the market

will not hold back your hair if you throw up

instead sends iwaizumi or one of your other friends to help you while he utters reassurances from a safe distance

will 100% have sex with you wherever if the alcohol has you feeling a certain kinda way

Neko

Veggies VS Meat

Miss Neko is a feline beastwoman, and cats are well-known to be obligate carnivores. However, in being a beastwoman, she also needs some form of a human diet as well. Her preference is absolutely meat, but she stopped begrudging the need to eat vegetables at about age nine.

Spicy food VS Non-spicy food

Cats are well known to have sensitive tongues, and Miss Neko is no exception! Anything more than mild spice and the poor thing will be sneaking ice-cubes out of the Mostro Lounge freezer for days!

Sweet VS Salty

She has a bit of a sweet tooth! Especially cake.

Noodles VS Rice

Rice is generally less messy, and there's nothing more irritating than ending up wearing most of your food, especially for a proud pedigree such as herself!

Mint VS No mint

I imagine mint will have the same effect on her as spice - it's less of a refreshing treat and more like a cold burn.

Singing VS Dancing

Miss Neko loves to sing! Whether she's good at it or not, well... That's up for her company to decide. Even then, it won't stop her.

Cold weather VS Hot weather

While she can manage the sun in small enough doses, Neko dislikes excessive heat. She learned the hard way to apply sun-lotion to the skin of her ears when she was but a kitten! The cold weather is so much more accommodating to her natural tendencies. Ah, a cushioned window-sill, a woolen sweater, a warm drink and the sound of the gentle rain hitting the window...

She could just... nod off right... there...

Dog VS Cat person

"Nya? Surely you jest! Can't you see from these adorrrable ears and this elegant tail that I am nothing less than a pedigree kitty? How silly~"

Big spoon VS Little spoon

Both! I was initially going to say it depends on who I ship her with, but even if she was dating one of the taller characters, I don't think she would shy away from curling in around them and purring against their shoulder to soothe them to sleep. Relationships are about give and take, after all!

Extrovert VS Introvert {It's... complicated}

I think that Miss Neko is an introvert that disguises herself as an extrovert. She displays a veneer of charm and natural charisma, putting forth the impression of a very confident person. However, her sense of bravado hides away a rather vulnerable side to herself, a part of her with insecurities and vulnerabilities that she doesn't want to readily share with just anyone.

Actions VS Words

Words can so often be empty. Actions, no matter how small, can say as much as a thousand words could. Although, if you wished to pair said actions with pretty words...

Thin-skinned VS Thick-skinned

I think it does depend somewhat on the situation, but I think that Neko doesn't allow things to pierce her very deeply unless they come from someone she holds in very high esteem. Working as a server in the Mostro Lounge has perhaps taught her how to let thoughtless words roll off her back... most of the time.

Movies VS Series

If you ask her to sit through much more than 90 minute movie, she might just doze off.

Comics VS Books

Both! Though she definitely gets through comics faster, unless the book she's reading is incredibly interesting.

Good liar VS Bad liar

A good liar to those who don't know her heart.

Persephone Amaryllis

Veggies VS Meat

Persephone finds it incredibly rewarding when meals are made using produce from her own garden! You can really taste the difference in quality.

Spicy food VS Non-spicy food

She's more adventurous with foods than others! She's always keen to try anything at least once. Kalim seemed delighted when she seemed to enjoy the dishes from his homeland despite the intensity of the spice. Even if a few others looked at her as though she'd grown a second head...

Sweet VS Salty

Sweet treats are great! Especially when you incorporate fruits and berries into a dessert.

Noodles VS Rice

Being someone who likes to work in the dirt when tending to plants, she doesn't really care much if she gets her clothes dirty from slurping noodles. Keeping her clothes spotless aren't a huge priority for her - stains just bring back fun memories.

Mint VS No mint

A little can go a long way, bringing a dish together to feel light yet fulfilling. Easy to overdo, however!

Singing VS Dancing

Being a rather animated person, she often has a lot of pent up energy! Who cares if you look silly, so long as you're having fun?

Cold weather VS Hot weather

Warm weather is Persephone's element. There's no better time to go for a long walk outside and take in the beauty of nature, wading through long grass, sitting in the shade of a tree, watching the gentle breeze sway the budding flowers to and fro. The soft caress of the sun as it cascades over your skin... what could be better than that?

Dog VS Cat person

Both animals are wonderful as far as Seph is concerned! They both have their own unique characteristics as a species that make them charming, though perhaps a dog might suit Persephone a bit more as a pet because dogs tend to match her energy more, and she could take a dog out on her adventures with her. Fancy getting a cat that isn't Neko into a harness!

Big spoon VS Little spoon

She has a protective and nurturing side to her as well. Sometimes all you need is someone to hold you close and be present with you in that moment. Seph may be a high-energy person, but she also knows when to mellow out and simply let a moment pass comfortably with peace. Nothing need be said, only felt. I'm here for you. I'm not going anywhere.

Extrovert VS Introvert

And extrovert, through and through! She has no qualms about going up and introducing herself with confidence and enthusiasm. Anything new, she will readily and cheerfully throw herself into it. She tends to be quite open and upfront about her positions and feelings on matters and people... there are few things that she feels the need to hide, but that's the same for everyone, isn't it? No one is entitled to her deepest secrets, it makes the version of her she shows to other people no less authentic.

Actions VS Words

Growing up, she learned that people liked to excuse their actions with words. She thinks it's best to let your actions and the way you treat others do the talking for you. Small gifts, body language, physical touch, small acts of service... That's her love language.

Thin-skinned VS Thick-skinned

There is nothing you could say to her that her mother or herself hasn't already. You'll have to try pretty hard or be pretty close to hurt Persephone Amaryllis.

Movies VS Series

Movies have so little time to really explore the world and characters! A series can offer more insight at a far less rushed pace than movies can, and you get so much more growth in a series than in a film. They feel more satisfying to Persephone.

Comics VS Books

There's just something so satisfying about the sound of a page turning, the scent of paper and ink, and a typewritten font...

Good liar VS Bad liar

Strict mothers make convincing liars.

Robin Redfearn

Veggies VS Meat

It takes both to make a wholesome, hearty meal!

Spicy food VS Non-spicy food

Robin is used to her grandmother's traditional cooking, where sadly the most spicy seasoning is probably pepper...

Sweet VS Salty

There's nothing like a nice trifle after dinner to hit the spot.

Noodles VS Rice

She prefers white rice because it soaks up the sauce in a dish, giving it more flavour.

Mint VS No mint

A little bit of mint is fine. Just not so intense that it makes her eyes water!

Singing VS Dancing

True to her namesake, Robin loves to sing and has quite a nice voice! She often sings while she does chores or schoolwork. If you make it known that you're listening, though, she'll trail off, turn red and quickly go back to her business but in silence.

Cold weather VS Hot weather

Many a winter night was spent cuddled up on her grandma's knee in front of the fireplace as it crackled and roared, the falling snow faint through the frosted windowpanes, the dog at her feet. Her grandmother's soft voice humming her a lullaby as she fought sleep but always eventually succumbed. These memories hold such a special place in her heart.

Dog VS Cat person

She's fond of dogs because of her grandmother's Scottish Terrier!

Also she's shipped with Jack, how can she not like dogs lol

Big spoon VS Little spoon

I don't think poor little Robin could be a big spoon if she tried... though the idea of her trying to spoon Jack is kind of hilarious. But no, I think that she would feel safe and content being in the arms of the person she loves, feeling his breath against the nape of her neck as his warmth envelops her. Lured into a secure, peaceful sleep, much like the roaring fireplace back home...

Extrovert VS Introvert

Robin is quite shy and timid at first, and while she does work on becoming more confident and assertive... she still can't quite manage to be as outspoken and energetic as Persephone. She likes smaller social gatherings, and if asked to attend larger ones, she generally sticks with a small, familiar group and tries to have a good time!

Actions VS Words

Both are necessary. Communication is an important part of any relationship. Telling someone she loves them, though nerve wracking to start, will eventually come to be as natural as breathing to her. She also shows love usually through cooking or baking. She'll purposefully make more than she needs to so she can give others what's left over, and omurice with a heart-shaped squirt of ketchup? You'd best believe it.

Thin-skinned VS Thick-skinned

Admittedly, she can be pretty easily discouraged and hurt. It's something that she knows is an issue and she's working on not taking things to heart so much. Easier said than done.

Movies VS Series

She doesn't really watch much TV. She gets more absorbed by books.

Comics VS Books

Having lived a rather sheltered life before she somehow ended up in NRC, she often found escapism in the form of fantasy books. Who would have thought that she would be walking amongst wizards and magicians, not unlike the ones in those childhood stories? Certainly not Robin!

Good liar VS Bad liar

Honestly if she had to lie she would probably just do it by omission or being very selective about the information she shares. Her grandmother had this look that always somehow managed to make a confession spill from her lips in mere moments... Sometimes Robin wonders if her Grandma might have been a magician...

This was fun, if not a bit long-winded... my apologies. I just get so into it! I hope it's not bothersome to read.

1) If you could bring any two fictional characters (from books or film/tv) into the same world who would they be, what world would you put them in, and what would their relationship to each other be?

It seems random but Theon Greyjoy and Cassandra Pentaghast from Dragon Age Inquisition! I did a DA!I play through as Theon and found the idea of a relationship between them beautiful and endearing. She’s an amazing character, and I love the idea of combining her strength and kindness with his gentleness and bravery.

2) If you could drop yourself into any fictional world from books or film/tv, which would it be?

Middle Earth!! Give me Lothlorien 😍

3) What’s your spirit animal?

4) What is the most unpopular opinion you hold?

As a lover of fantasy, I *hate* YA fantasy (with the exception of books I read when I was younger, for the nostalgia). I often have fellow adults recc fantasy books to me, and when I go to read them, they’re clearly meant for teens? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with YA fantasy, but for me they always feel so lacking and I dont understand how so many adults can enjoy them.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Guide & Information

Exactly how did it start? This October, I finally did it! I lastly marked off the Annapurna Base Camp trip from my wish list. I had for long been planning to take the ABC expedition after one of my peers, had done this expedition almost 2 years back. I scheduled a solo Annapurna Base Camp Trip, although the expense was a little bit greater than joining a team, I selected to do a solo trip as my friend told me that trekking solo was much more serene. The week prior to taking a trip to Nepal, I scheduled the trek with Nepal Trekking Routes as these guys seemed legit.

Arriving The lengthy trip from Seattle to Kathmandu, with a couple of transits in between, was boring but once I reached and touched down on the Himalayan soil, I right away rejoiced. Shailesh, my considerate guide was standing there with a huge smile at the arrival hall, he held a placard with my name printed on it in big font styles. After a brief drive through disorderly traffic, we got to the hotel. After taking a trip to their workplace to obtain my permits, I returned to the hotel and slept like a baby. Adventure Starts Early the following early morning, I awakened fresh and prepared to start my adventure. We took the initial flight to Pokhara, the lovely city had a lake right close to it. We drove for one and half hour to reach a location called Nayapul, where the actual expedition started. It was practically dark when we got to Ghandruk, I went through beautiful patches of forest as well as sometimes we climbed up above Annapurna Base Camp trek, Annapurna Base Camp expedition tree lines. Being a physical fitness lover, I had already begun delighting in the expedition. A dash of Thakali Set (Rice/cornmeal porridge with lentil soup meat curry and also veggies) completed the day, Dal-Bhat is a Nepalese staple and it is really delicious and filling, nonetheless, I prevented myself from trying hot spicy pickles. With hefty tummy, we retired for the night in a teahouse (teahouses are basic homes in the hills of Nepal).

The following day we headed off towards our next destination Chhomrong. Shailesh was a superb guide, his declining hairline provided the perception that he was older, yet he was simply a year older than me. He had stories to tell, he had actually led the way towards the Annapurna Base Camp for lots of like me. The trip was fairly simple today, after we the quaint town of Chhomrong, we decided on the rock patio in front of the teahouse with some neighborhood alcohol and also kept an eye out at mighty Annapurna and Macchapuchhre mountains.

Another bonus point of this trek After a few more villages and stop destination in course of a couple of days, we ultimately reached the Macchapucchre Base Camp (Fishtail mountain Base Camp) which is situated at 12,139 feet. Maybe it was my high enjoyment level, as I climbed up a little rock to take pictures; my left foot got stuck in a small crack on the surface of the rock and was sprained. The discomfort kept me awake till midnight, here I would love to thank my overview Shailesh, who rubbed my foot with some organic oil, surprisingly by morning, the discomfort was gone. However, the lack of sleep left me quite groggy the following morning.

Night at the Annapurna Base Camp Establishing that last step on the Annapurna Base Camp was a happy moment. The stunning sights of the surrounding peaks are just spectacular. The 360-degree view of some of the highest peaks in the world is something to crave; the Himalaya really make you recognize how trivial you are. The night at the base camp was much more enchanting; I sought out at the stars for a very long time, how plainly they looked from up here, perhaps since the air is so much thinner.

Nearing end With a heavy heart, we descended below the base camp; the return trip towards Pokhara was simply as spectacular as it began. We trekked past several towns and also settlements throughout an additional couple of days. At the same time, the impressive view of the mountains did not leave us.

This won't be my last time in Nepal After a hearty morning meal, we headed towards the domestic airport, where we caught a small, noisy double otter airplane which flew us back to Kathmandu. I walked around Kathmandu and almost got lost, nevertheless, the pleasant Nepalese guided me back to a location called 'Thamel," here you can meet with travelers from around the world; it's a noticeable traveler hub. I bought my papa a Gurkha (Nepalese) blade 'Khukuri' as a souvenir. Back at the hotel I looked at all the pictures of the Annapurna Base Camp and smiled to myself, for I knew this wasn’t not going to my last visit to Nepal.

(Sorry if I got a bit lengthy, it was just so nice to do something not university related after exams!)

1. How do you come up with ideas for your WIPs?

The heavy artillery from the get go, eh? *cracks knuckles* Okay, to be honest, I'm not sure. I've never really thought of it, they're just there, clamoring for attention (plot bunnies are my best ally and worst enemy). I definitely have bouts of very intense inspiration and days when I just,, can't. Even if I know where the scene is going, how it's going, and why, the words aren't there. Or they're all wrong. (This is when I default to writing ugly-crying emotional breakdowns or sex. Likely both.)

Working out a story is a game of association laced with concepts and core elements for me. Like this: dragons (core element) + mountains (association) + tribe/clan (concept) + shapeshifting (association/concept) + relocation/settlers (core element). And that's basically my dragon wip.

Eld's story is based on a Doctor Who quote "demons run when a good man goes to war". Ren and Kuro grew up with me; at some point they just started acting on their own - I just throw shit at them and sees what shakes loose at this point. (They have five kids! How???? did that?? happen???)

(I'm a sucker for prompts. My brain can see a single word and just, run of with it hollering in glee.)

2. How do you get past gaps in the plot?

Urrrrgh, I have to get past them??

I struggle, is what I do. Typically I let it sit, soundly on the back-burner in my mind, until I've mulled through my story to the point where the hole is gone. (This takes months, and with my sci-fi wip I ended up rewriting the dang thing completely at the third draft after eight years of working on it. Scrapping it was painful.)

Or I try a different angle. Sometimes it works.

3. What motivates you to keep writing?

I love writing. There's really no more significant reason than that. Writing allows me to express myself, create and explore worlds and characters who wouldn't exist otherwise. And it lets me just exist without any layers. When I've been hurting, writing has helped me get the pain out with no more than tears.

And I love words and languages; the way we have about 10 different words to say "snow" (partly because Swedish mesh several words into one but still) and maybe 2 (3?) for heat. That there are groups of languages with the same ancestors that are so close; how absolutely amazingly different they can be (I just learned "y" is not considered a vowel in English and I'm???? Completely blown. What. What do you mean it's not a vowel. Are you sure???). And languages with different alphabets and ones that use pictures to represent ideas instead of sounds! And sign languages!!

And idioms! It's so cool how idioms can carry words of wisdom, caution and reassurance, and rarely can be translated (classical examples from Swedish "There's no danger on the roof" and "The rain is standing like sticks in the ground") because they lose their connections to the cultures they are used in.

The universes in my head are as full of life as the real world and not nearly as anxiety-inducing. I have stories to tell. And you know that feeling when you’re in the zone and everything is flowing and you’re writing 10′000 words in a go? That.

4. Do you do any other kind of creative writing?

I dabble in poetry? Like, very sporadically and with mixed results. I have a friend into slam poetry who opened my eyes to it, too.

5. Do you have any other creative hobbies besides writing?

Urngh, yeah, too many. If I’m not reading, my hands need to be moving or I’m an unhappy bean. Though, writing is the only thing I never put down. Ever.

Okay, so, I draw (badly), both on paper and digitally. Mostly landscapes. I also try to make house sketches/plans. And I paint (a bit better than I draw), prefer oils or acrylics over water colors. My partner and I also paint miniature models when there is time.

I also crochet and knit, and I love origami. I roleplay (Dungeons & Dragons, whenever the DMs have time), and I play the violin (and piano) and write simple music for myself.

I garden if there's time in the spring and during summer, and I absolutely love these little fairy-gardens that have been popping up everywhere. On that note, I have more houseplants than I have space for.

I'm also thinking to start up a little thing making bracelets and bead strings for fidgeting. I needed some kind of stim toy to be able to focus and I wanted something silent with many different sensations to keep me entertained. I hunted around a bit but eventually made my own and they turned out pretty nice!

(I also like to bake, especially pies and breads.)

6. What do you do when you’re stuck on a scene and don’t know how to get it out / write it?

I slam the key words in. And then I ignore it until it stops fighting back so much.

Or I backtrack. Sometimes I've written myself into a corner unknowingly.

Sometimes I drop a wip that's giving me grief and work on another, or I use word/idea prompts to get me started.

7. How do you decide how to end your WIP?

God, please tell me because I don't hecking know. Should I do an epilogue? Should I leave it open/ambiguous? Should I just cut it off and leave the next step to the reader? Should there be a "true" ending, with goodbyes (actual or metaphorical)?

Urrrrrrrrgh. Good Lord, endings.

8. When in the process of writing do you decide how its going to end? Or do you kind of just wait til you get there?

Either I know from the start, before I write the first words, or I wait. Which tends to mean frustrating the hell out of myself. I have started to go through my wips (whether original or fanfiction) and give them all bare-bones outlines, because not having endings is a big problem for me.

9. Why did you decide to join writeblr?

Basically when I decided I had had enough of the "join to see more" button or the "sensitive material" warning. And when I realized there was a really nice writing community here I could maybe become a part of. (A major reason was actually @concerningwolves advice posts.)

10. What’s your favourite food?

(CW: Maybe skip if you’re vegetarian/vegan/you’d rather not read about meat.)

Chinese deep-fried chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce (not the spicy chili kind, the actual pineapple and tomato juice based kind) with rice. No question about it.

Mom's "blodbröd med fläsk" is a close runner up though, but we only eat it once a year, at the midwinter solstice. It's homemade Swedish tunnbröd (hard thin-bread) with blood instead of water in it that you dip in boiling water to make it soft, with white sauce, and fried, thoroughly salted pork.

(Believe me, some country-side Swedes in the northern parts are still pretty pagan about the sun coming back, me included. It's a big deal when you go between no night/darkness and then very little/no sun.)

11. If you had to kill off a character in your WIP, who would it be and why?

People are dying right and left in most of them already, since three include large-scale wars, so there's no shortage there.

But if I had to choose a main-character or a directly supporting character? (MY BABIES! NO.)

I think Ren, from the sci-fi wip, because he would be free from both responsibility and physical and mental pain. (My boi is a wreck.) It wouldn't be unlikely either. But at this point it would destroy my story! 😂 Less story-destroying would be their foster-guardian Sandra. It would still force me to write a completely new arc, but it would be do-able.

Although, regarding the fantasy wip Firestorm, Kebarock dying in their war would crush Sunling. That could be done without losing the plot entirely. Hmmm.

why i chose my url: honestly, i got the idea from the Palahnuik book, but i didn’t name myself after it (i really don’t even like that book.) i picked it because it’s like a ~metaphor~ for anxiety, flaws, thoughts, etc.

other blogs: 10 years ago someone made me a mod of a Brandon Boyd fan blog @locaxbrandonboyd and even though i haven’t posted onto it for probably 8 years and i am considerably less interested in Mr. Boyd, i’m still technically a mod. i don’t know how to remove myself and, at this point, i don’t know if i want to. who am i if i am not a very shitty locamenteBrandonBoyd mod?

do i get asks: sometimes, but not often. my friends and mutuals usually just message me.

following: 65, most of whom i consider friends who just post their own things and i love and support them! and we’re friends so we usually have the same interests anyway! a couple of people who i just enjoy the content of. a few inactive blogs i forgot to unfollow. handful of content creators and asexual support blogs.

what am i wearing: denim Tom’s flats that i found in the garbage, black high-waisted button fly skinny jeans, old baggy gray shirt that has ‘los angeles vintage co. & dry goods’ written in faded western font. a pumpkin colored army jacket with a pin that says “grody to the max.”

dream job: screenwriter, ideally an auteur a la Cohen Brothers or Sophia Coppola but I am entirely not privileged or white enough. i wanna specialize in female-led nuevo westerns with heavy symbolism and MISE-EN-PLACE. otherwise, i’d settle for contracted work along with script supervising, script editing, anything that means i work with a script and actually make money that buys more than beans and rice and a hotel room.

dream trip: being able to afford traveling is literally so far from my grasp that i’ve never really considered the “ideal” trip, but i guess maybe a really fancy, really long Disney cruise? that would be cool. or a year-long road trip where i can visit every single state and stay in each for a couple of days. america is so fucking big and i wanna pee on the ground in every state.

favorite food: curry, specifically butter or tikka masala sauces but i will literally accept any curry. i also love eggs and flour tortillas scrambled together, with or without soy chorizo. hong kong style chow mein. cheese and pineapple pizza with extra extra sauce and pan crust. just plain old baguettes. tamales. my secret recipe vegetarian dirty rice.

play any instruments: i’ve tried, but my dyscalculia makes it basically impossible. i’m able to play the first half of “what do you do with a drunken sailor” on a mini-accordion over and over and over to annoy my sister, but otherwise, i’m balls.

hair color: i guess like a dark auburn? it’s dark brown but it has red highlights.

languages spoken: i have a working understanding of speaking and listening to english, but i do a lot better with written. i can carry a conversation in ASL, but i wouldn’t call myself fluent. i also know a very small amount of german and french, and an even smaller amount of chata (which is pretty similar to other muskogee languages)

random fact: i honestly cannot stand puppies. i have helped raise over 100 puppies from newborn to full grown dog and i can not STAND them. they are the worst. i much prefer full grown dogs, and even those are on thin fucking ice.
