23/4/24 The Music Venue Trust has hit back at Manchester’s Co-Op Live for saying some grassroots venues are “poorly run” – despite having had to delay its own opening this week.

Co-Op Live, which cost £365million, is set to become the UK’s largest indoor arena when it opens, with a capacity of 23,500.

The venue’s executive director Gary Roden spoke to the BBC recently, where he discussed the proposed £1 ticket levy on all gigs arena-sized and above, to help secure the future of grassroots venues and artists.

Roden said that he was “very aware it’s a hot topic”, and that he was “embracing the conversation”, but that he believed the levy was “too simplistic”.

The report suggests that he thinks support should come directly from the government, and added that while he acknowledges the financial pressures on small venues, he thinks some of them are poorly run.

20/4/24 Bosses of the UK's largest arena have apologised for cancelling tickets to a test show hours before it was due to start.

It comes after organisers at Co-op Live in Manchester said they had to cut capacity for a preview concert by Rick Astley to allow them to test the 23,500-seater venue "effectively".

Those affected have instead been invited to the Black Keys show at the £365m arena next week.

Co-op Live is set to be officially opened by comedian Peter Kay on Tuesday.

The popular Light Dragon Print from Tears of the Kingdom, is now available in Sticker form! With inspiration taken from stamp-based creations, these Vinyl Stickers feature the background square from the original print to help line up, and fit in to most notebooks and sticker collages

Printed using an Inkjet printer on 100gsm Waterproof Glossy Vinyl Sticker sheets. Dimensions: Sticker can fit within 10cm x 8cm space, actual sizing just a few millimetres smaller than the stated size.

All stickers are die-cut by hand, each batch of stickers has also been tested to ensure it is still possible to peel of the backing sheet by hand.

This is a work of fanart. The Light Dragon is a character from The Legend of Zelda series which is owned by Nintendo.

caught a cold 😷 oof. was gonna work today and be like ayyy grindset no days off! but uhhh i might just upload the leftovers from yesterday's market onto my online shop and then call it for the day: anyone waiting on commissions (i think its just 2 people right now) i'll start up working on those tomorrow

commissions are absolutely open though and i think if you want something specifically in time for the 25th december i can still get them done if you email me on or before the 21st.

#anyway uhhh basically im still about £400 short of the UK minimum income floor for this month so every little helps #and i mean i will have days in the month after the 25th its just #y'know how it is. that's The Big Day in december #also i mean for the past few years i HAVE #happily scraped by on about half of minimum UK wage its just #right so i signed up to this startup scheme they have for #self employed ppl here in the UK #i wasn't like... thrilled about it but it HAS helped #it's just that it's all about 'Business Growth' and all that #and um. basically i like locked myself into these #agreements and commitments to try and meet #the requirements to be 'gainfully self employed'#and if i haven't qualified at the end of 12 months #which i think is in april 2023 #then i think they're gonna be like. u should get a real job #so i'm just yeah really trying to make it work #anyway sorry if u read all this. not looking for advice just #want to vent and also be up front with everyone #thank you all sooooo much for your support this whole time #it does not go unnoticed and it is SO appreciated
