Rex turned to him, "Did what hurt, Wolffe?"

"The general..." Wolffe couldn't bring himself to say anymore, as he felt the bitter bile stir in his stomach.

"No," Rex tried to sound reassuring, tried to sound like everything will be alright when it ultimately won't and will never be, "I think it was quick, painless."

Remember when I mentioned a Max Payne style game with Commander Fox as protagonist? I hope you remember, because I can't find my own post about it lol.

Since then, I wanted to draw Fox doing bullet-time stunts.

Clones with videogames

Okay so I need to make a big old thread of clone posts so I'm gonna link them to each other each time I make them. Here's the videogame one.

Fox has an illegally modded version of 'Doom' where all the enemies look like Palpatine. He absolutely does, I won't take criticism. When he isn't using the console then Thorn will log on to try and beat Fox's high score but when Fox has time off he kills a lot in that game.

Fives loves the 'Legend of Zelda' franchise but the problem solving parts do his head in. He begs Echo to do those parts for him. Echo acts like it's annoying but he actually really enjoys it.

Crosshair, despite his skill at shooting, doesn't play shooters. He's actually incredibly skilled at games like 'Guitar Hero', due to how quickly he can move his hands.

Jesse and Kix worked really hard to try and make some of their favourite places in 'Minecraft'. They were really upset when Hardcase flooded the locations with tons of different animals.

Tech has been progressively playing through 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' with Wrecker and Omega. He is very meticulous about how his island is set out and always tell Wrecker and Omega off when they visit his island and fish his fish and catch his bugs. When Tech visits their shared island, he is gifted many items he has been collecting since the beginning of his 300+ hour game time. He still takes them anyway and sells his originals, always making sure to display his gifts for when his siblings visit his island.

Hunter plays 'Stardew Valley'. He prefers it over 'Animal Crossing'.

Rex and Cody have 'Mario Kart' tournaments. Cody is better at all the tactical side of it but Rex has memorised the shortcuts.

Hound has a copy of 'Nintendogs' but rarely plays it when there are perfectly good Massifs in real life. Besides, Grizzer would get jealous if he spent time with fake dogs.

Any other headcanons are welcome! These are just some that me and @just-here-with-my-thoughts came up with.

I have a Fox fic that absolutely captivated me for the entire... idk 36 hour period that I sprinted through this 28 chapter fic? I regret to say that I don't remember which tumblr I think I found this linked on (it was a late night find and I was deep in the search results), so I apologize to the tumblr-presence of the author (I hope they pop up so we can follow). Do-Over by TooManyTeeth on AO3 is described in a few spare lines, and I want to keep it that way 'cause that's part of what drew me in:

I received a request for something platonic with Fox, Thire, Thorn, and Hound and an artistic padawan!reader, so here goes. Obviously Grizzer is going to be there too.

You usually kept a low profile when you were out of the Jedi temple. You sat not far from some clones you knew well, but didn’t go over and say hi, hoping you could capture them in the moment. Thire, Thorn, Hound, and Fox all sat around a table eating lunch and you were tucked away in a chair off in the corner. You made a quick sketch of them and then filled in some details. It must be a pretty good day because they were all smiling and joking.

Somehow, Hound had managed to get Grizzer in here and the massiff sat next to the table waiting for any scraps. It wasn’t long before you could tell the massiff smelled something, turning around, sniffing in the air. That something turned out to be you. Grizzer smiled and bounded toward you.

“Grizzer!” Hound jumped up and followed, assuming his massif was up to no good. He sighed a little when he saw you, feeling relieved.

“Oh good,” Hound said. “It’s you. Don’t need to get kicked out of here over an upset stranger.”

You gave Grizzer some good scritches and the massiff snuggled up to you, seemingly looking at your sketch.

“What’s that,” Hound asked.

“Oh, I umm,” you got a little shy, but he had already seen, so you let him have a better look.

“Hey boys,” he waved to the others. “Get over here. Look at this.”

Thorn, Thire, and Fox all came over and looked at your work.

“You managed to capture each of us,” Thorn said quietly.

“We look like brothers but individuals,” Thire added.

“You made me look less tired,” Fox joked and Thorn bumped his arm with a smirk.

“Look at Grizzer,” Hound said. “Look at that perfect face. Such a wonderful likeness.”

“Can we have a copy,” Thire asked.

You hadn’t even considered it. It was just a sketch and unbeknownst to them, you sketch them and their brothers quite a lot.

“Sure,” you said, smiling.

“Do you have any others,” Fox asked.

“Well, yeah,” you admitted.

They waited while you pulled out other sketches and they relived the moments you had captured.
