I saw one of your latest fics (PERFECT HONEY🤍) and I just thought you were a great writer and it was like so cute and soft AAARGH
and then I also saw that you were accepting requests and I couldn't help but get excited, because I had an idea the other day - BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WRITE 😭 so...
I was thinking about a short story fluff like with re2r Leon, where he still works at the police station but kind of without those traumatizing events YOU KNOW (or idk, you decide) so,,, he already knows Claire, who works in a cozy café near the police station where Leon usually goes on his break,buttt,, a new employee arrived (reader) and became friends with Claire (and kind of attracted Leon's attention 🥀) and idk, she (you decide if you want to use a feminine or neutral pronoun;) could work as a barista or waitress and was kind to Leon, until Leon started going to the cafe more often just to see her (or babbling about how pretty she is with Claire) until he found the courage to ask for her number or talk properly with her and, I don't know, this could end in a date or just Leon being a fool in love with a kind barista or waitress :)
IDK I AM DELULU BUT I KIND OF THOUGHT OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT
so...feel free to ignore this if you found it boring hun ^^ Thank you in advance for reading this thought and if you want to accept the idea ;)🩷🩷

Notes: My first request! I hope you like this, I honestly found this concept so cute, and I love writing for RE2R Leon.
WC: 1.7K
CW: Fluffy Leon, no outbreak, Leon just being a clutz sometimes. Claire being your wingwoman basically and getting you both together. Mention of Y/N like once.
➽───────────────────────❥
After his first week in the RPD, Leon managed to get himself to work early enough to not get a lecture from Lieutenant Branagh. Soon enough, he met Chris Redfield who worked for S.T.A.R.S. Which quickly led to Chris taking him to a nearby café where his sister worked. Claire was a sweet girl, Leon and her slowly opened up to each other after a few days. Promptly, he became a regular customer. Getting the same raspberry and white chocolate muffin alongside a vanilla latte. Today was no different, Leon entering the café - however, he didn't see Claire at the counter. But you.
Leon couldn't help but think you were the prettiest girl he had seen. Trying to avert his eyes from your face he felt his legs subconsciously walk over to where Claire was sweeping the floor. "Morning Claire... New employee?" He mumbled as he nodded his head over to your direction. "Yeah! She came in yesterday. Super sweet." She laughed, taking out the tea towel as she wiped down the coffee table. "You don't have to be scared Leon." Claire couldn't help but snicker as she stared at Leon mentally psyching himself up to not fuck up his order. "I'm not scared.." He yipped back, before walking up to the counter.
Your hands slowly wrapped around the mug handle as you polished the inside of it, oblivious to the man in front of you. A quiet tap of the bell seized your attention, looking up to see a dark blonde haired man staring at your movements. "Oh! Sorry, hold on I'll only be a minute." You frantically rush back to the mug stack, gently placed it on top before returning to the stranger. "Sorry about that, what can I get you?" A bright smile is plastered on your face as you tap onto the half broken machine, trying to input your worker code. "Uh.. please could I get the raspberry white chocolate muffin and a vanilla latte?" Leon asked, fumbling with his thumbs below the counter. Thank fuck he didn't mess up his sentence. His hands slowly travelled to his face as he swept the hair out of his eyes, maybe he really should get a trim...
"Yeah of course! That'll be $6.24 please." Leon fumbled with his wallet after taking out $10. "You can keep the change." Leon uttered as the cash register opened, the till jittering out. You couldn't help but smile sweetly as he offered the change to you. "Are you sure?" He nodded as he saw you put the tip in your pocket. "Thanks... I'll get that for you straight away." Your body shifted towards the coffee machine. Leon couldn't help but admire the way you performed your job, it was somehow so different to how Claire would do it. You were angelic in your movements - his thoughts soon interrupted as he felt someone tap his shoulder. "In love?" Claire teased, earning a nudge from Leon's elbow into her side. "Ouch! Okay.. okay." She laughed as she went behind the counter, packaging Leon's muffin. You couldn't help but glance at Leon's smile. He was cute, super cute.
A few minutes later, a warm takeaway coffee cup and muffin stuffed into a brown paper bag laid neatly in front of Leon. "Thanks." Leon took both items into his hand and waved off to Claire, showing you a small smile as the bell chimed, indicating he had left the store. "Who was that?" You rushed over to Claire, her eyes looking at you with playful eyes. "That's Leon, he's my brother's friend or I guess co-worker sort of? He works for the RPD." Claire responded to you with a funny tone. "Why are you looking at me like that?" You laughed out, slowly wiping down the coffee stains on the counter. Your eyes wondering over to the door, missing the stranger you just encountered. "Oh it's nothing, I'm sure you and him will get along well y'know?" She giggled, shoving the tea towel in her pocket. "What the fuck is that suppos-" Your sentence quickly cut off as Claire shouted "I'm going on my break!"
Days passed, time and time again Leon soon became a person you got used to seeing. Smiling whenever you would see that navy blue uniform. A small crush blossomed in your heart - you couldn't tell him that though. Nor could you tell Claire, but she saw it in the way you stared at him as he ordered the same thing. Soon enough, you prepared it beforehand for him to have immediately. 8:30 AM, that's when Leon would come in. With that same uniform and same hairstyle, oh and of course he was handsome every time. Today was no different, except for the fact you weren't in. Leon's day was 100 times better when he saw you, entering the café he expects to see you. Seeing Claire at the front instead of cleaning caught him off guard. "Where's Y/N?" Leon closed the door behind him, leaving the cold and rubbing his hands together as the cozy environment felt different.
"She called in sick, why? Are you lovestruck?" She poked fun at him, getting his order ready. "Oh shut up.." He chuckled, sitting down at a nearby table. Thinking about Claire's words, he knew she was right. He was lovestruck by you. Leon couldn't help but find you so attractive, the way you were so attentive to him. That small talk wasn't awkward with you. He had a crush. "Honestly, yeah." His eyes diverted to the muffin and latte ahead of him. Claire's ears perked hearing his mini confession? "Oh?" She smacked his shoulder lightly. "She's beautiful and super sweet, don't get me started on how.." Leon soon rambled on about you, from your personality to your looks, the way you carried yourself. Losing himself in time as he subconsciously sipped on the latte, finishing the muffin. Claire had to sit down for this, it was cute seeing him chatter about you. "Fuck, sorry about that." He chuckled, checking his wrist-watch, seeing the time flicker to 9:00 AM. "Shit, I gotta go. Thank you for the treat Claire." Leon hastily got up and dashed out the door. Oh how Claire couldn't wait to tell you all about this tomorrow.
"You're shitting me right?" You mumbled, polishing the mugs as you looked over to the wall clock. 8:25 AM. Leon's order by your side as you heard Claire laugh. "Why would I lie about him basically confessing his love about you?" She nudged your arm, snickering as your eyes rolled back playfully. As if Leon could have a crush on you. I mean, you were just a barista who served him his raspberry white chocolate muffin and vanilla latte. What could've been so special about your actions? "Get out of your trance, it's 8:28." You heard Claire from one ear to another as she moved to dust the corners of the room. Oh how cruel could she be to leave you with this new information? The chime of the door caught you off-guard, seeing that same man in that RPD uniform.
"Good morning Leon." A shaky voice elicited from your throat. For Christs sake, pull yourself together. "Morning.. I see my order there." He chuckled, pulling out his wallet, taking out a $20 bill. "Keep the rest." A small grin crept on his face as he passed it to you. You couldn't accept this, not for basically doing something that took you three minutes at most. "Oh Leon, I can't accept this." A breathy laugh pursued out your lips. He wasn't going to take no for an answer. "Please, it's on me. You've been nothing but sweet to me. And this place must be a pain in the ass to clean up at the end of the day." Leon laughed as he took his muffin and latte, sitting down at a table. That was unusual. He usually left to enjoy his snack, but today seemed different. Your friendship seemed different. Leon was right, the sticky sugared tables and coffee splatters were annoying to clean - knowing he would refuse the money if given back to him, you stuffed the change in your pocket. "Thanks Leon.. but you really don't have to tip me each day. Makes me feel guilty, like I owe you." You muttered as you came out from behind the counter. Leon's eyes wondered over you, a small smile corrupting his lips as he thought of something.
"Well.. if you think you owe me, come sit down with me for a bit?" A teasing tone was laced with his words, but who were you to deny him. Even if the blush on your face was evident. "Alright, but why are you sat down? Don't you have to get to the station quick?" Your question rang in his head, your voice melodic in his ears. "Not really, if it comes to it I'll run." He chuckled, sipping on the latte. Burning just the tip of this tongue - warming up the rest of his body. Nothing warmed him up like you though, those pretty lips that rested peacefully on your face. Your giggles enticing him as he looked at your hands slowly fiddle, it was clear you were nervous. Fuck. So was he, but to him this was now or never.
"I uh... can I have your number?" Leon hastily said, averting his eyes from you and staring into the little leaf shape carved by the frothed milk in his hot drink. Did he mess up? Troubled thoughts rushed over Leon's head until he heard you speak. "My number, sure." You couldn't help but smile, Leon just asked for your number. This was practically a dream come true. A quick exchange of each others phone numbers soon lead to a conversation. Getting to know each other was time consuming which soon lead to Leon's face dropping as he checked his wristwatch. "Shit it's 9:15." He laughed, putting his leftovers in the bin. "I'll text you later yeah?" His hand waved off to you, feeling content in yourself.
Throwing your bag to the side of your room, your back aching from the constant horrible posture you had as you bent over tables to wipe them. Your phone buzzed. It was from Leon.
Leon: Can I take you out for dinner this weekend?

College bets
Fandom: Indiana Jones
Ship: Indiana Jones x reader
Warnings: swearing, slight mention of smut
Requested by: @groovy-lady
Summary: Indy asks your hand in marriage and the students of the collage you work with couldn’t be happier.
Tumblr media
-----------
It was no secret that Doctor Jones and Doctor (Y/L/N) were MADLY in love with each other. They both shared a passion for discovery and history. Dr. Jones taught Archeology and Dr. (Y/L/N) taught world mythology. They had went on archeological missions together and had dug together in many archeological sites. They were always attached by the hip, they always had lunch together either in one of their classrooms or at the cafe, every time a student wanted to talk to Dr. Jones in his classroom, Dr. (Y/L/N) was there and vice versa. It was rarer to see the couple alone than together.
If you asked the university’s students, they would tell you that these two were the “it” couple. Since the students watched Dr. (Y/L/N) and Dr. Jones interact with each other one time she came into his classroom to ask him something regarding work, they all shipped them nonstop. There were rumors regarding both of them, they ranged from seeing the kissing, to having sex on a classroom and seeing them go on dates. Of course these were rumors and rumors only.
It wasn’t until Dr. Jones mentioned his partner in one of his classes, asking the students what he should buy her in his next date. He was always so professional but yet so casual with his students, that’s why they all loved him. Immediately all of the students (mostly nosy people who had a crush on him) started asking questions about who his partner was and of course, after a lot of insisting, he gave in and revealed that these two were actually dating. You swore you heard cheers from across the hall in the other classroom, but you had no idea what had happened until Indy told you he had revealed your relationship. It was fine, it wasn’t like you cared if the students knew you two were dating. You both were in a committed relationship and had nothing to hide.
Everyone in the college was very happy for you and, surprisingly, you weren’t in trouble for being in a relationship with your co-worker. The students shipped you so much before that they were always excited and asked both you and Indy questions in class. Questions such as “Where is Dr. Jones taking you on your date?” “Have you guys watched the stars at night as a date?” “Do you guys live together?” “Have you been to his house?” almost everyday came up before your class started. They were all surprisingly respectful towards you and Indy and never really asked any improper questions.
As time passed, the two of you always went to work together, so the students assumed you both were, in fact, living together. And when more than a year passed, a new question came up amongst the rest in Indy’s classroom “When are you going to propose to Dr. (Y/L/N)?”. Every time he heard that question he just looked with confidence towards the student that asked him and he just didn’t answer it, starting or continuing the class as if no question had been asked. It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to ask your hand in marriage, he just didn’t know if either of you were prepared for that commitment. And, although he would and always will deny it, he was VERY scared of rejection and he didn’t want you to say no. The more time passed, the more frequently that question came up. He usually just shrugged it off and thought nothing of it until one day he overheard a conversation between some students that really made him question wether or not to ask you.
“Hey! 20 bucks. I’m betting 20 bucks that Dr. Jones is going to ask Dr. (Y/N/L) to marry him in less than two months!”
“Bullshit, he is never going to ask her. I don’t think their relationship will last. 50 bucks that they are breaking up before the end of the year.”
“No way dude! The are madly in love and are TOTALLY getting married, but I think he is going to ask her this month. I’m betting 35$ that he is asking her this month”
The students all shut up when they saw Indiana walking down the hall but immediately looked at him when he saw their other professor walk up to him and start making small talk. When you held his hand unconsciously while walking, you could hear the students say small “aw’s” and “I’m totally winning that bet”. When you asked Indy about that bet they were talking about, he said it was just some joke the students were talking about before she arrived and shrugged it off.
After that encounter, he really started to question how, when and where to ask you to marry him. The first thing he did was buy a ring, he bought you a beautiful white gold ring with the biggest diamond he could afford (which ended up being a huge gem). He thought it was best to ask you as soon as possible to get it over with, by that he meant his anxiety, he wanted it to be special for both of you but wanted to do it as soon as possible to get an answer from you. He really believed that you were going to say yes, but there was never really knowing until he asked you. He also planned on asking you in the college’s library, since that’s where you two met.
One day, he asked you to go with him to the library, it wasn’t a really weird request for him to do, since you two spent the most time there, together, and reading. You really didn’t know what he was doing but when the two of you reached the center of the library and just stopped there, while Indy was hugging your waist softly looking down at you with his greenish eyes sweetly, you knew something was going on.
“Darling, I love you. I thought I would live my whole live doing just two things: going from place to place digging up buried treasure and teaching in the four walls of my classroom. I don’t think I would be the man I am today if it weren’t for you, doll.” he said sweetly, with a soft voice as two not disturb the students that were studying and working in the library.
“Aw Indy, thank you! I love you too, so much.” You said, hugging his waist and pressing your head into his chest. After a few moments, he pulled away from the hug and grabbing your hand, he knelt down on one knee, that is when you realized what was going on. Happy tears filled you eyes as you looked at the man before you, the same man that has made you feel so special for almost two years. Some people may think it was too soon for him to ask your hand in marriage, but from the moment you two met, you both knew you would be spending the rest of your like together.
“Y/N, will you marry me?” you nodded you head furiously while crying.
“YES!” Everyone in the library, professors and students alike started clapping, whistling and congratulating you both as you kissed.
“I TOLD YOU THEY WERE GETTING MARRIED IN LESS THAN A MONTH!” was heard as two other students sighed and gave money to the student that shouted that. You could help but laugh hugging Indy again.

well-kept secrets
summary: having a crush is one thing but having a crush on your co-worker? a totally different kind of feeling.
pairing: percy hynes white x actress!reader
…………………………………………………………………………….
percy knew that the minute you walked into the room for the first time, he was going to fall for you. the show that you guys were working on was a romantic drama. it’s set in new york city and it follows a boy named evelyn (your character) who swore to never fall in love due to past family issues until she meets oliver (percy’s character).
the boy was nervous when he walked up to your door. you guys decided to rent rooms in the same apartment complex that way it was easier to just travel together for work. the two of you were going to be hanging out to read the next scene that was to be filmed and he didn’t want to show up empty handed. so he walked down to the cafe that you guys called ‘the hot spot’ and picked up your favorite stuff, along with getting something for himself.
“y/n, i uh got your favorite drink and a pastry from our spot,” percy hands you the warm cup as you stood by the door. you took it with a bright smile, a smile that makes him melt inside.
“our spot, huh?” you stepped aside to let him come into the apartment. the boy’s face warms up with the realization that he called the cafe that.
“sorry, i just meant that because we found-“
“percy! i’m just teasing you. thank you for this,” you cut him off from his rambling and reached to kiss his cheek. percy knew that he was definitely blushing at this point.
“right right. i knew that. ready to run the lines?”
“hell yeah! i’m excited to see what was next for our story.” the word our falling gracefully out of your mouth sent him into a spiral. he wished to be with you officially but he’d never want to ruin the friendship you guys built. plus you were his co-worker which made the situation trickier.
“perc?”
“huh?” he looks up from his shoes to your concerned face.
“you okay?”
“yeah just um tired that’s all.” you nodded your head at him and motioned him to follow you to the couch. you sit with your legs folded on the seat while percy puts one of legs under the other leg. turning towards each other, you guys get ready to run the lines.
“where did you want to start y/n?”
“let’s do the very beginning! i haven’t gotten a chance to read that yet.”
percy’s eyes scan the page to get a brief view of what the scene was. it was a fight scene between both characters. it ended with a confession and a kiss. his eyes widened reading that he had to kiss you.
running the scene was no problem but as soon as it came to the kiss, percy backed away. leaving you guys to keep restarting and you were getting frustrated with him.
“percy, if you don’t want to kiss me just say that! we’ve been doing the same scene for hours.”
“no it’s not that.”
“then what is it?” he opened his mouth to speak but instantly closed it. he couldn’t tell you the real reason because he felt it’ll change everything and not in a good way.
“it’s nothing.” you scoffed at him and turned your head to look at the wall.
“you’re lying.”
“no, seriously it’s- it’s nothing y/n.”
“i think we should call it a night. i’ll see you later, yeah?”
“okay,” percy whispered and stood up to collect his things.
once he had everything he needed, he offered an awkward wave to you while you stayed seated on the couch, leaving out the front door. when he closed the door behind him, he took a second to lean his back onto it and sigh quietly to himself. the whole crush on a co-worker thing was gonna be harder than he thought.
-
you felt bad for getting upset with percy. so you woke up a bit earlier to stop by the cafe to pick up some treats for him. you decided to wait for him in his trailer since you guys already established that it was okay to just walk into each other’s trailer. you’re as quiet as a mouse when percy walked in. he looks up from his phone and physically jumps back making you laugh.
“what the fuck! you scared the shit out of me.”
“sorry, i just wanted to bring you some treats from our spot. i wanted to apologize for last night.” still with heavy breathing, he shakes his head at your words.
“there’s no reason to apologize.”
“yes there is percy. i was a little mean and i’m sorry.” percy walks up to you and wraps his around your shoulders.
“it’s okay, if anything i should be sorry. i was the one who was fucking up.”
“happens to the best of us,” your eyes meet his and he feels the world stop. percy finds himself in a trance within your eyes, so beautiful and soft is how he would describe it. the secret was getting harder to keep. removing his arms from you, he takes a step back and goes to the pasty box.
“i hope you got the good stuff.”
“oh you know i got the good stuff,” you both shared a laugh before digging in to the box. small moments like this is what he liked most about working with you but more importantly what he liked about you.
-
“guys i need you to give me your rawest emotion. think of you actually building up the courage to tell someone you love them. make it real!” the director gave you guys some encouragement getting ready to film.
“and action!”
the scene
“oliver can’t keep running from me.”
“watch me. i don’t want to deal with this,” percy walks away from you and you rush to grab his arm just as the script said to.
“tell me one good reason why.”
“no.”
“tell me the reason oliver.” he turns to glance at you and percy gets lost. your eyes had him trapped again and he thought you looked beautiful with the water running down your face to act as the rain for the scene.
“because i fucking love you y/n and i’m trying so hard not to fall for you but here we are. you told me not to fall in love, so please let me go.”
“cut! we have to reshoot this.”
percy’s face paled at the realization he said your name. your name and not the character you played. taking one look at your face was all he needed to leave. your jaw was dropped and eyes widened. he was fucked at this point and needed a way out.
“i’m sorry, i have to go.” percy let’s his feet guide him back to his trailer quiet and quickly.
opening the door, he slammed it shut and locked it. the boy felt his eyes water thinking he had lost a friend. he went and made it weird which was the opposite of what he wanted to do. he thought that he could ignore his feelings for you and by the time filming was done everything would be okay.
“percy? i know you’re in there. let’s talk about this.” you knocked on the trailer door and the tears in his eyes fell down.
“y/n, just leave. it’s embarrassing enough,” he replied in a choked voice.
“let me in. please.”
percy huffed and moved to unlock the door. once you heard the lock click, you opened it to find the boy in tears.
“i’m so sorry. i didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable fuck. i- i swear i didn’t mean to do that,” his lip trembling trying to keep the tears at bay.
“did you mean it?”
“what?” he looked up from his hands to meet your eyes.
“did you mean it? did you mean what you said back there?”
“yes,” he said with a low whisper and looked away from you once more.
you close the distance between you guys and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. leaning on your toes and turning his head towards you, you placed a delicate kiss on his lips. he swore his heart started beating faster.
“what was that for?”
“i’m in love with you too silly. that’s why i was upset last night thinking that you didn’t want to kiss me,” your words fell on his lips while you bring a hand to wipe the tears that adored his cheeks.
“so i didn’t make you uncomfortable?”
“heavens no! i’m really happy right now even though we’re both soaked with water from head to toe,” sharing a laugh together, he kisses your temple.
“where do we go from here?”
“well i was hoping you’d say the magic words,” you catch your bottom lip in between your teeth to hide the grin you had.
“y/n, will you be my girlfriend?”
“hmm i dunno.” he smiles down at you still holding onto your waist.
“the anticipation is killing me here.”
“i have decided that i’d love to be your girlfriend!”
“yeah?” he looks in your eyes before his eyes drift down to your lips.
“yeah.” this time he initiates kiss and pushes you closer to him. percy felt like a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders and he could finally breathe.
“guys we really need to reshoot the scene!” your stage manger calls out to you both making you break the kiss.
“c’mon babe, we got a scene to shoot.” placing once last kiss on your cheek, he grabs your hand leading you back to set. he couldn’t be more happier than he was right now.

sneak peek for coffee shop au/college!ellie x female!reader
please note - this is not the full completed part!!! this is just an extended sneak peek as an apology for it taking so long due to how busy i've been from uni ): when the entire fic is finished, i will tag those who asked to be added to the list
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚
the late summer air might've subconsciously motivated ellie's walk that day, her relaxed demeanour acted as a foolish guise from her anxious thoughts. she usually waited until the last possible minute to leave for class, but something today was different.
maybe she hoped that if she walked around for awhile, her body and mind would tire themselves before class, leaving herself sleepy with concentration instead. maybe she hoped that her early start would somehow prompt a late arrival to class, giving her an excuse to just not go.
ellie sighed, squinting in the sun. it was too early in the semester to start that bad habit.
she came across a little campus cafe on her wander, quickly recognizing it as the one that dina had frequented. she hesitated briefly, trying to peer through the glass windows in a not obvious way. it looked relatively empty, compared to the usual crowd, so ellie dragged herself inside.
the air conditioning instantly hit her warm skin, causing goosebumps on her arms. a small group had claimed a table by a window, chattering away with laptops covering the table top. ellie wasn't exactly sure what she was looking for, and the line was pretty short, not allowing her much time to think. ellie lingered in the doorway, wondering how strange it may appear if she turned on her heel and immediately exited the establishment right after entering, until she heard possibly the sweetest voice to ever hit her ears.
"have a nice day," you regarded softly, handing someone their drink with a quick smile.
you were still relatively new at the job, fumbly and awkward with the interactions. your previous job had sucked. your co-workers were mean, you were paid basically nothing, and you were left with little time to complete assignments. your final straw was getting yelled at over the phone by your manager after calling off of work with the flu.
finally gathering the courage to quit, your friend had rallied you up to work at a campus cafe alongside her. the idea of that sort of work scared you, talking to customers, making drinks, but the pay was good and the hours were flexible. you put in an application and by the end of the week, you had started the training process. it was relatively comfortable, until your friend had suddenly decided to quit and left you alone.
"sorry," she had apologized weakly. "i think i might pick up doordashing or something instead."
you pushed out a quick sigh, drumming your fingers on the counter before plastering a smile on your face, moving to greet the next customer.
ellie craned her neck, trying to see the owner of the voice above the heads of the people that stood in line. once her eyes landed upon you, ellie sucked in a breath. she moved wordlessly into the line, no plan of action in mind.
she watched, dazed, as you entered orders and nodded. when you turned around to grab something and ellie spotted the bow that you were wearing in your hair, her palms began to feel warm. she strained her ears, desperate to hear your voice again above the sound of conversation and the typical coffee shop music.
ellie didn't even notice that there was another person, some guy, also behind the counter until he switched spots with you, greeting a different customer.
fuck, ellie thought, rapidly looking around to watch where you were going. you disappeared into the back, behind a set of secretive doors. ellie's heart sank. she would be up soon, and she didn't even know what she was doing. she didn't want to talk to some random guy.
she just... wanted to talk to some... random girl?
fuck.
someone else wandered into the cafe. ellie contemplated making that person's day, wondering if she should just leave the line. of course she should, this was stupid, but then you reappeared. you were carrying a small brown box, and huffed at a strand of hair that had fallen into your face.
ellie was almost up, and she rapidly began praying to any type of higher power that would listen. please don't let it be the guy, please don't let it be the fucking guy-
"hi," you greeted automatically, restocking a small display of reward punch cards. "what can we get for-" you finally dragged your eyes upwards, freezing at the sight of ellie.
your gaze widened and you mentally cursed yourself for having a horrible poker face. the girl standing in front of you was extremely attractive, to say the very least. you felt trapped in her green-eyed gaze, hand hovering above the cards that you were previously toying with.
ellie cleared her throat, shifting awkwardly on her feet. if anyone's voice matched their appearance perfectly, it was yours. you looked doe-eyed, caught off guard, and ellie's face flushed.
you blinked at the slight cough, snapping back into customer service mode. "what can i get for you?" you asked, pointedly changing the we to i. she had freckles. the smile you offered wasn't forced, but genuine.
fuck. fuck fuck fuck. she had to actually order something, not just stand there and stare at you. it was ellie's turn to be wide eyed, as she scrambled to pinpoint something from the menu. god. she really didn't want to be that person. you had all that time waiting in line, just pick something for christ sake!
you stood awkwardly, smile wavering as you waited for a reply. at least while the cute stranger was distracted by the menu, you could use the opportunity to stare.
mentally, ellie was a mess. she had held the skill of reading for the majority of her life now, but ellie couldn't make sense of a single word that was displayed on the menu. everything blurred together and she could feel your eyes on her as she scrambled for something to say.
"uh, what do you recommend?" ellie questioned, meeting your gaze. her cheeks burned when she noticed that you had winced. ellie wasn't being cute or friendly, she was being annoying. the last thing that you probably wanted was to rattle off a list of seasonal beverages you had been asked to promote. ellie mentally cursed herself, but you were stuttering for an answer before she could take her inquiry back.
"oh! um, well there's the..." you glanced over your shoulder at the seasonal drink specials, and ellie held back a grimace. poor fucking girl, she thought.
your face burned. you were still pretty new to the job, and honestly, penny pinching. despite the few that you've snuck during your shift, you hadn't tried many of the drinks yet. you so badly wanted to have a quick answer, something to impress her with your amazing taste. instead, you faltered, taking too long to answer.
"sorry," you laughed, shaking your head sheepishly. "i'm pretty new to this," you explained, ignoring the stare that you were getting from your co-worker. please don't ask to help me, you silently pleaded. despite the awkwardness of the interaction, you didn't want it to be cut short. you wanted to know if her freckles were always that visible, or if they popped out more due to the summer sun.
"that's okay," ellie said, a little too quickly. she looked down at the nametag that you wore on your apron. your name was written neatly, in your own style with a mix of cursive and regular letters. you had drawn a little flower next to your name.
"that board has some of our summer features though," you explained, finally regaining your footing. you nodded in the direction of a display board. "they're super popular, people really like them. i've tried the lavender one actually, it's super good. uh, we unfortunately don't get the pumpkin spice stuff in for... two more weeks, i think? so... i'm sorry about that," you quietly rambled, wringing your hands.
"pumpkin spice? it's barely september," ellie commented, wrinkling her nose. her attention was drawn to your nails, painted perfectly and neat. she wondered how big of a fool she would be making herself out to be if she attempted to flirt with you.
you shrugged, grinningly bashfully. "it's good," you resigned.
noted, ellie thought. i like pumpkin spice now. ellie opened her mouth to ask about the lavender thing, but the girl behind her in line obnoxiously cleared her throat.
ellie's eyebrows raised and you glanced apologetically at the other girl, who was tapping her foot.
"i'll be right with you," you commented. the girl scoffed and ellie's lips twisted at the sound. you were so sweet, wasting one of your pretty smiles on someone who didn't deserve it.
"yeah, no big deal," the girl replied sarcastically. "it's not like i have a class to get to or anything." she looked around the room, trying to garner support for herself, but no one was paying attention.
"i'll be right with you," you reiterated with a harsher tone. ellie fully blushed, feeling guilty for delaying the interaction. now you were getting backlash and your co-worker was completely eyeing you up, and ellie felt at fault for it. you met her eyes again, apologizing with a sad smile. ellie's grip on the strap of her bag tightened.
"sorry," ellie mumbled as her cheeks burned. "i'll get, um-"
the girl in line sighed again and ellie lost her train of thought, noticing that you were holding back your frustration with a tight smile. finally, a good idea emerged in ellie's head. she knew dina's order by heart. dina was certainly a creature of habit, at least when it came to her food and drink orders. ellie had heard dina order a million times.
ellie confidently allowed dina's coffee order to roll off of her tongue. you blinked in surprise as she gave specific directions, a direct contrast to how clueless she had seemed just a moment ago.
you frantically entered the order into the system, scared of making a mistake and looking dumb. "hey," you called softly, gaining the attention of your co-worker. you recited the order to him, to which he nodded in understanding.
"what's your name?" you asked politely. you grabbed a sharpie, waiting.
ellie's heart skipped a beat and she thought maybe she would have stood a chance, until she realized that you were asking for the drink and not because you genuinely wanted to know.
except, really, you did want to know. having to ask was just a perk.
"ellie."
"ellie," you repeatedly warmly. it was the best thing that ellie had ever heard. "i like it," you mumbled, grabbing a cup from a stack.
"thank you," ellie mumbled, watching as you wrote her name on the cup. your teeth pulled at your bottom lip in concentration, determined to use your best writing. once you had gotten to the second L, you looked up.
"oh," you realized sheepishly. "you can go wait at the end," you gently instructed her. ellie could've facepalmed herself for her stupidity, but didn't want to drag herself away from your presence. ellie wanted to say something more, but failed. she did, however, feel as though she had caused you enough trouble for the day. ellie gave you an awkward smile, as genuine as she could manage, before moving to step away.
once ellie had turned away, you realized your mistake.
"oh! wait!" you called, your voice louder than it had been all day. ellie froze, wondering if she had done something wrong or maybe you wanted to ask for her number.
the girl who was supposed to be next groaned.
"i'm so sorry," you whispered once ellie's body was in front of you again. "i forgot to have you pay," you muttered your confession, humiliated as your co-worker made a tsssk sound.
ellie thought that after this, she might drop out of college and move somewhere, maybe the country. somewhere far away from civilization.
"fuck," ellie swore under her breath, quickly rummaging through her bag for her wallet. "sorry," she said. you gave her the total, eyes lingering on ellie's tattoo while she swiped her card.
"um, do you want a reward card?" you asked, your voice sounding more robotic compared to before.
ellie was ready to automatically say no, but she took in the sight of your rounded cheeks and bashful smile.
"i would love one," ellie replied, and she felt as though her body jolted when your fingers grazed hers, handing over the card.
"if you buy nine drinks, the tenth one is on us!" you chirped, clearly haven gave this spiel before.
"jesus, nine?" ellie grumbled, and to her horror, your smile dropped.
"that's a great number!" she exclaimed awkwardly, scrambling to fix her mistake.
you nodded. "have a good day," you dismissed, and ellie's stomach lurched.
as ellie made her way to the end of the counter, she heard an exasperated "finally!" before you began to mumble apologies. ellie rolled her eyes. asshole.
when her name was called and she was handed her drink, ellie froze. her name, written pretty in your handwriting, punctuated with a doodle of a smile. her pulse quicked, and ellie wondered if she had always been this pathetic or if she had just gotten soft.
before she left, she turned around to give you one last look. you saw her heading for the door, and strained your neck to look at ellie once more before she was gone. you made eye contact, and ellie almost did an awkward half wave that certainly would've kept her up at night, cringing.
you tore your eyes away from ellie, mentally cursing yourself. but god, she was cute.
ellie shook her head discouragingly, once again met with the warm breeze of the afternoon as she stepped outside. she stared down at the little smiley on her cup. ellie frowned. she didn't really like coffee, but she also didn't want to throw it away. she heaved a sigh, holding the beverage as she began her trudge to class.
the doodled smiley carried ellie on a high throughout the entire day.

Obey Me-Leviathan Secret Santa
I hope you enjoy! I was so excited when I found out @zhonglis-waifu was my secret Santa assignment!! And thank you to @omsecretsanta2022 for hosting this super fun project! Maybe if it’s available next year I’ll do it again ^^
Word Count: 1,646
Tumblr media
Leviathan was reluctant to face the human world after being selected for a one year vacation but after everything…he was excited to find all of the new content he could get his hands on. Animes were even more popular in the human world, so he had really found his people. He was glad he was selected, and found himself…in a regular cafe.
He knew who his favorite worker was, and they always seemed happy to see him. At first it was really awkward, he didn’t know much about coffee, but he wanted to try your favorites. A blush here, a stutter there…and he was infatuated. It was nice to meet someone who likes anime too. He would come to the cafe daily, until he learned your schedule. He seemed to always be there on days you worked.
You worked almost every day, and he learned it was to cover the bills you had on top of owning your own cat. He thought the cat was cute in your pictures…and you always seemed excited to talk about him to Levi. He couldn’t help but think…maybe he could visit your apartment someday before he returned to the devildom. But he could never ask to do so. He was too scared of rejection…
But when you didn’t show up today…he got worried. He sat and waited, one of your coworkers tried to take his order but he shut her down quickly, saying he was waiting for someone. She smiled and walked off. 10 minutes turned to 30, and 30 to an hour. After an hour and a half, he finally had enough and walked up to the counter.
The woman smiled, “Can I help you with something?” Levi’s stare at her seemed to make her falter but she continued to smile, trying to be polite.
“Where are they?” He asked, barely making eye contact. He fidgeted in his place, wringing his fingers together, still pent up from all the worry.
“Oh! They’re sick today. They should be back tomorrow!” She apologized, and went back to work.
Sick…? Fine. He would simply see them tomorrow.
So he came back the next day…but you weren’t there again. He huffed, returning to his temporary place. Then the next day passed, then the next.
If he wasn’t worried before, he definitely was now.
It was the fourth day when he returned once again to your cafe, and he was so excited to see you! You looked a little worse for wear, but overall much better than his anxiety-riddled mind created due to his vivid imagination.
He ran up to you, and you turned, excited to see your favorite regular.
“Levi! Hi!” Your voice was a little hoarse, and face slightly pale, but still alive. That’s what matters.
He sighed in relief before borderline glaring at you, “What’s wrong? Why were you sick for so long? Are you okay? Do you need medicine? Was it the flu?” His questions came at you a mile a minute, and you couldn’t hardly process one before he moved to the next. “Are you feeling better now? Are you good to be at work? Can-”
You cut him off with a cough, but answered quickly knowing he was simply filled with worry “I’m fine! It was just a cold. I promise, I’m all better now!” You gave him a wide smile, and seemed to subdue him for the moment.
He did something…he was scared to do. He pulled you into a hug, his head resting on your shoulder as he held you close. “Please…don’t ever do that again.” He sniffled, all of his worry finally overflowing. “I thought…you were never coming back.”
You were shocked, did he really care about you that much? You would be lying if you said it didn’t make you feel good…he was really your favorite regular. You gently pulled him off you, a soft smile on your face as you looked him in the eyes.
“Levi…I’m fine. Promise. I didn’t mean to make you worry so much, and I’m sorry.” Hesitantly, you put your hands on his cheeks, and he instantly flinched away. “I…I’m sorry…I didn’t mean, I just!” Now you turned red, thinking he didn’t want the affection.
He looked you in the eyes for a second, before his gaze darted away, then back to you. “It’s…fine. I’m just not used to…well…touch.” His face turned even more red than yours, and he carefully guided your hands back to his cheeks.
He then did the cutest thing in the world…and nuzzled his face against your hands. Now you were both red in the face, all the way to your ears. However, both faces contained a smile of pure joy.
“If…” You blushed, now looking away from him. “Um! Never mind.” And you took your hands away from his face to cover your own.
With confidence he didn’t know he had, he carefully removed your hands from your face so he could see you. “What is it? You can tell me anything…”
You gulped at the intensity in his eyes, but decided to just spit it out. “Maybe…if you wanted…you could come visit me after work?” At the words, his face turned to shock. “YOU DON’T HAVE TO IF YOU DON’T WANT TO!” It came out much louder than planned, and you looked around to see a few people staring. You cleared your throat, and continued “I just figured…if you’re worried about me…you could spend some time with me outside of work…? If that would help?” He was still silent, mouth wide open. “I…uh…I mean…” He tried to form words, but couldn’t. He had to take a few deep breaths, and smiled. “I would love to.” He held one of your hands in his, and he looked so happy. Still red in the face, if not even more so than before, but he was filled with joy.
“Oy! Get back to work!” Your manager called over to you, but with a smirk on his face.
You didn’t see it, but Levi glared daggers at the man. Who did he think he was? This was quality time you were sharing, and he dares to interrupt?
When you turned back to Levi, he replaced his glare with a soft smile. “Sorry Levi…I get off work in around 4 hours, you don’t have to wait for me for that long, though!” You rested a hand on his shoulder for a moment, before returning to work.
He sat down, and spent the remainder of the 4 hours just…adoring you. You were so kind to everyone you worked with, both coworkers and customers, and he found himself liking you more and more…and every once in a while, you’d return to fill his coffee cup, and give him a big grin. It made his whole day for you to be so kind to him, although maybe jealous when you shared a similar smile to other customers.
After your shift, you gave him a “just a second” and went back to your locker. He was eagerly waiting by the entrance for you, and you were off! It was a short walk to your apartment, and he wanted to hold your hand…so badly. It was almost an awkward silence, and you would both catch the other glancing over, only to dart your eyes back to the ground.
You walked up to the right door, and let him in. You had been talking regularly for a few months, but neither had the courage to invite the other over. Harboring feelings was difficult, especially when both parties were secretly scared of rejection without the other knowing so.
You walked him over to the couch, and sat down next to each other. It was silent for a while, both trying and failing to spark a conversation.
The silence was broken when he looked around and saw an anime poster! “What anime is that from?” He inquired, turning to you fully, giving you his full attention.
You looked to see which poster and smiled, “Oh! It’s actually not from an anime, it’s from a game! His name is Zhongli, and he’s from Genshin Impact!” You then proceeded to ramble about the game you loved so much, and he even asked questions about certain things to let you know he was listening.
After a while, you blushed, “I’m sorry…I can really ramble, huh?” And looked away shyly.
He gasped, and held your hand “N-no! I mean. You do ramble. But I ramble too. It’s nice to see someone you care about passionate about something!” He realized his own words and tugged his hand away, turning a deep shade of red once more.
It was your turn to look shocked now. “Y-y-you…care about me?” And he looked at you, looking almost afraid of your reaction.
“Yes…I…I do. A lot.” He stood up, and walked quickly to the door.
“W-wait! Levi!” You called, rushing after him. “I care about you too!” It stopped him in his tracks.
He turned to you, looking so full of hope. “Then…maybe we could play genshin together. As a…a…d-d-d-d-date?” His statement was more of a question, but the meaning still came across.
“Levi…” You all but whispered, and both parties looked reluctant. “I would love to have a date with you.” And you gave him the biggest smile he’d seen from you yet.
He sighed, with a smile matching yours. “Here we are, two otakus…talking about a date. Ironic isn’t it?” And he chuckled, which only made you do the same.
You dissolved into fits of laughter, and that was how it started. Something you would never regret, is inviting him over to your apartment on that day. He was precious to you…and eventually, he would even tell you who…or what he was. But that was for another time.
For now…you simply enjoyed the company of the other. And that was more than enough.

I should be finishing a math exam thats due tonight but instead I have an au idea
Daybreak Dessert vs Scala Sweets!
Daybreak Desserts is staffed by the khux cast. Its a cat (chirithy) cafe/soda shop that is known for tasty treats.
Skuld and Elrena work with the customers. Elrena has to be constantly reminded to not sass and berate the customers. Skuld is a master of up selling and conflict management. Homegirl got her crap together.
Elrena will be taking her smoke break now.
Everyone helps out but Lauriam and Strelitzia are the main food staff. Lauriam is the boss but Strel is nothing to sneeze at. Shes the reason all the desserts are so cute.
Ephemer is the manager but it's both him and Brain that keeps the place running (and Lauriam/Strel's family's money). Brain is also the reason that they have a great website/app. He's also in charge of feeding the cats.
All the cats can talk they just only talk to the staff since they're too good for the peasants.
One time while Elrena was taking a smoke break she saw a worker from Scala Sweets dump a suspiciously human shaped bag in the dumpster. They made eye contact and now she's scared. Baldr doesn't remember this ever happening.
Scala Sweets is right next to DD. SS has twice the staff but only half the people actually do work.
Vidar and Hoder are the managers. Vidar is swamped by trying to keep the place afloat, so Hoder is the one who manages the rest of the staff. Her grandfather is the owner (Odin) so she can kinda do whatever she wants
Whenever someone doesn't show up to their shift Hoder calls Baldr in.
Baldr is the Jack of all trades master of none. No he does not get paid extra due to it being a "family favor :)". He has no idea how to tell her no. He dreams of burning the place to the ground.
Hoder is seemingly friendly but actually super passive aggressive
"Working hard or hardly working? :)"
Xehanort is the new guy and does exactly what he is paid to do. No Hoder he cannot help there are 30 seconds left on his break. No Hoder he cannot stay late his shift is over. Vidar forgot that xehanort was an employee
Eraqus is a slacker that suddenly cares a lot about work because he wants to look good in front of Xehanort.
Vor really wants to climb up the latter (shes a dish washer) but she's easily distracted. Shes doing her best though so Vidar is patient with her.
Helgi never comes to work but he isn't fired since he's dating Sigrun and shes friends with Hoder.
Urd is a massive people pleaser but Vala and Hermond stand up for her when people get mean
Vala and Elrena are enemies and always try to out mean each other. They pray on each other's downfall
I have no ideas for Heimdall sorry Heimdall.
~~~
Eraqus is really freaked out by the fact that DD was a worker that is literally identical to him in every way. Brain could not care less
"Hmm that guy is my mirror self, weird, anyway-"
Eraqus gets really worked up because, despite them being identical, everyone thinks Brain is way hotter.
Xehanort thinks one of the guys looks like his grandather but doesn't care enough to look further into it
The cats have spoken to each member of the DD staff but the staff haven't told each other since they think it's just them going crazy. Brain doesn't know if the place is haunted or just has a gas leak.
For Love♡
Please read Part 1! Word count: 742
A/n: So I changed the genre of this story to like horrorish? 。◕‿◕。There is no happy ending for the boys, but the reader gets to live a happily ever after with her sibling(s). (⌒▽⌒) Summary: After having a good nights rest, you are awoken to another mess. You’re late for work and there is some bad news. Characters used: Kazuha, Childe, Xiao, Zhongli, Lumine
Tumblr media
Kazuha looks up from the book he was reading.
“Welcome home.”
Kazuha? Why was he here?
Kazuha seemed to have read your confused expression and answered, “I just came to check on Lumine, since you were coming back home late.”
Gratitude swells in your chest. But before you could thank him, Lumine excitedly tells you about the haiku she made with Kazuha.
“Adepti are cool, I want to be one one day, Qilin are the best.”
It was so random, but you loved it.
“Wow! It’s so good!”
You turn to Kazuha. “Thank you. I hope she wasn’t too much trouble.”
“No no, she was excellent.”
Lumine yawns in your arms.
“Let’s get you to bed.” you whisper.
She yawns again in response.
Getting Lumine to bed was always a hassle. And today was no different.
“Whew, finally, we’re done.” you say in relief.
“Not yet.” Kazuha gently shakes his head. “You haven’t gone to bed yet.”
You shake your head in protest. “I’m no done with the dishes and I have too-”
“Shhh.” Kazuha places one finger over your mouth, shutting you up.
It wasn’t long until you were also placed in bed next to your sister.
“But Kazuhaaaa-” you complain only to be interrupted again.
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything. Just stay here and sleep, Ok? I know you’re exhausted.”
Kazuha then left your bedroom.
He was right, you were very tired, and the bed was warm… Soon you fell into a deep slumber.
“Y/n!” You were awoken to a frantic Lumine, desperately trying to wake you up.
“We’re gonna be late!”
Late? What time was it?... OH. The hands on the clock were definitely past 8:20. You get ready as quickly as you can.
The shop was going to open at 8:30!
After you help Lumine get ready for school, you take off to the cafe.
As you near your destination, you see several cars in the parking lot- and customers inside to your dismay. Someone was taking the shift of being the barista, although you were sure it was yours.
Going in through the back door, you enter the ‘employees only’ room.
Your eyes widen as you realize that your apron wasn’t there! Was one of your co-workers nice enough to pose as you in your shift? You exit from the back door and enter through the main entrance.
To your surprise, you see a green haired man in your apron.
“Xiao?” you call out.
The apron you usually wore looked so tight on him. Too tight. A blush creeps up your face as you realize how ripped he is. And the other female customers fawning over him seemed to notice too.
“You weren’t here. And the other customers were waiting. So… I decided to help out.”
“Oh thank you Xiao!” you say in delight. If he hadn’t helped you out, you were sure you would’ve gotten in deep trouble.
“Hey comrade, you should also thank me.” A new voice comes from the corner.
“I also decided to help out. Mr. Emo boy here was scaring off most of the customers.”
“Hey!” Xiao growls.
“Well someone had to do something. It wasn’t good for business.”
“Your ‘helping out’ had mostly to do with talking. A lot.”
“But it stopped people from leaving because of you.” Childe points at the line of customers as if to prove his point.
“No, the only reason there is a line of customers now is because you spend 5 minutes talking with each one of them!”
The two men glare venomously at each other.
“Well, you both helped me out a lot. I appreciate your kindness.” you say interrupting their small conflict.
Childe’s sour mood from before disappeared as quickly as it came. “Of course, sunshine!”
“Oh, so we’re giving Y/n nicknames now?”
After you retrieve the apron, you start your shift.
Soon, the number of customers dwindled, you give Childe and Xiao a free cup of coffee as a thanks.
“By the way, how did you get into the cafe?” you ask, curiuosly.
“It was unlocked when I came.” Xiao says plainly.
“Oh I was sure I locked it yesterday…” you say trying to recall the moments before you closed the shop the day before. Had you been in such a hurry to get back to Lumine that you forgot about such important things?
Before you could continue, a frantic Zhongli walks in.
“Have any of you seen Venti?”
Tumblr media
⌕ PEEK-A-BOO ; halloween event
— day 06 , hina hikawa
› summary : Hina seems to be up to some mischief, and you were dragged into it.
› cw : none ? you two are in an established relationship, also kinda ooc and short im so sorry
› a/n : i want the halloween hina card so bad 😔😔
Tumblr media
The season of Halloween meant a new line of music and ideas for idols, not exluding Pastel*Palettes.
Although, during this season Hina has made it her mission to scare her co-workers, with her partner-in-crime: you.
"Hina, are you sure you wont get like, fired over this?" you questioned, while she hummed a no heading towards the practice room holding a drink filled with ice except one of the ice's had a fake bug in. Knowing that Aya was quite fearful, she was the first target.
Opening the door to the room, you two see Aya sitting on the floor scrolling through her phone. "Hina, [name]! How are you two?" a sweet smile was seen on her face, you felt pity that this smile was gonna get replaced with terror in the next seconds.
"Ayaa! want some water? I've heared you've been practicing quite some while!" Hina said while handing her the glass, which she happily accepted. Not noticing a glance on the drink she chugs it down immediately. After finishing the drink she looks into the cup and and screams.
"Ahhh!! Hina!" she looks back at your girlfriend who has a cheeky smile on her face.
--
The last victim, Chisato Shirasagi. You two had successfully scared the rest of her bandmates, it almost seemed like she was made of iron. But this time you two had found her weakness, bugs.
Chisato was heading out to her acting duties, while you two secretly follow her. Hina tip-toed upon her fellow band mate while holding your hand. Finally pressing her hands on her shoulder, she says a suprising 'boo!' that startled Chisato.
"Hina?! U- what are you doing here?" Chisato questioned. With the familiar smile on Hina's face she hands a box to Chisato saying it was something from corporate.
While Chisato opened the box with slight suspiciousness, she was definitely caught off guard with the amount of fake bugs in it, thinking it was real.
--
"[name]! wanna go to a cafe? I'm super tired from pranking everyone." she sighed while holding your hands once again, although the day has been full of fun it's these kinds of moments that you heavily cherish, moments of softness and sweetness for each other.
"Of course, I'd love to. Now which cafe should we go to?
One I Liked (Campfires and Wolves)
The smell of smoke filled my nose, laughter filled my ears, space dreamed on as I wrote. A distant noise grew louder and louder.
Holly...
"Holly?"
"Holly!"
"Wha-," I said pulling myself out of my palace of imagination.
"We've been calling you for the last five minutes," Katherine expertly explained, her hair blew from a picked-up breeze. And I noted that it looked like the waves from the lake below our cliff.
"Sorry," I sighed, "I was writing." This was the millionth time I had gotten lost in the dreamworld. At school, I was called dreamy by the students, smart by the teachers. I had all advanced classes and actually skipped a grade, leaving the friends around me behind. They were all in their last year.
Dan had his arm around Grace, her feet hung on the side of her purple fold up chair. Dylan was sleeping on his blue chair while Katherine sat next to me playing with my long fire ash hair, it was supposed to help my anxiety and actually worked.
We had a party hosted here for the class's graduation. Too many people came and now, two days later, my mind had not gone down.
"Holly! You zoned out again." Dan spoke gently. He was always gentle, it always seemed to calm the people around him, even when he was buzzed from the alcohol. Very different from Dylan.
Dylan was the hyperactive one of our little group. He was always trying to get me to go to parties and 'loosen up,' but I just didn't want to I was fine sitting at home reading, writing my column for the newspaper, or even working at the small cafe that is owned by my mother.
"Maybe you should go home, you look scared and worn out, Holly," Dan continued.
Grace nodded. "I think you should too, tiny." Tiny was a nickname for me from middle school when I only ate a little bit of my food every meal. My father had a tumor the size of a popped baseball in him. And I was always the worrier. Dylan made a joke that if I didn't eat I would start to shrink and eventually abandoned not eating.
I nodded to Grace. Katherine stood up, shaking Dylan awake. He jolted before looking around and smiling at me. Katherine was my ride and so I trailed behind walking next to Dylan.
"Good morning, Tiny," he joked.
I giggled, "It's not morning genius. You've only been asleep since eight, and it's nine almost ten now."
"Well... I know that." He walked around Katherine's car to his beat-up old truck. The truck was a gift from his grandfather. It said specifically, underlined, that Dylan got the truck, nobody argued.
I opened Katherine's car and sat down. I looked down at my phone after putting my seatbelt on and shutting the door. I decided to continue writing, my mind still dazed.
Katherine started up the car and pulled out starting to drive. We curved and bent down the road. Passing one blue car and a giant black truck. A soft song came on in the background and Katherine hummed along. Her mind probably going back to the fact she broke up with her boyfriend. She never told us why just that she needed to fix something.
"My dad died," Katherine spoke, tears dribbled down her face. "Ten years of not knowing where he is to he's just not here anymore. I have a younger sibling, she's only ten, I'm her only living relative. I said yes when they asked, I'm eighteen and have a stable internship at the news station.
"Her name is Lilly, with two L's. I got to have a phone call with her. She loves to draw and paint. And she is so creative, she reminded me of you, Holly. She was scared and the workers told me she was refusing to eat. So I said yes, I don't want to lose her to the system, I already lost one sibling there."
Her older brother by two years was lost in the system, she has to know the idea where Michael is and she wants to know him, but when they're lost, they're lost. The only thing she has of him is the coat she got from him protecting her.
Katherine's dad was a drunk, a mean one. Her mother is still recovering from that experience. Her older brother always held her when it got bad and put her in the closet when he got violent.
"I didn't know what to do. I can't just have a boyfriend and take care of my sister. The news station has weird schedules and trying to juggle you guys, a boyfriend, and a kid. It didn't sound like a good idea. So I dropped the one thing I could."
"You should have heard him though. He just kept asking and asking what he did wrong and I didn't do anything just listened and then hung up."
She sobbed and the car lapsed into silence as we continued down the curving road. When we pulled up to the cafe, I sighed in relief. Home, where I was the most comfortable.
I turned to Katherine. "Maybe you should explain why. Call him now, his shift should be done, and explain to him. He might be able to help, you might need him."
Katherine nodded and pulled out her phone as she drove away. I turned and trudged to the door, unlocking it as I went inside and locking it as I passed the knob. I glanced at the clock and saw it was now eleven-thirty.
I continued down, past the tables and chairs, around the corner to the lounge, and through the door. I decided to just fall asleep on the comfortable looking couch. Grabbing the throw from the couch after setting down my bag, I relaxed into the couch.
And with the final closing of her eyes, Holly Nika fell asleep.
-----_-----
A war had raged on between the clans. Wolves and Jaguars fought. The Jaguars good at stealth and sneak attacks, the Wolves good at power and strength. It was times like these that General Timber wondered why we fought.
His mate had died not twelve days earlier and his 2-week pups needed a surrogate mother, so they went to his mate's sister until he retired two months later.
Pain in his side stopped his thoughts. Turning to his opponent, he jumped over her side using his back claws to scratch her back. She yowled as dark red streaked down her back and she turned away to help another
A shriek pierced the air and General Timber turned.
No, not another one! A wolf collapsed the weight of his mate bond-breaking too much. General Timber scanned to clearing and saw his sister, Goldie, collapsed, dead. She wasn't moving her throat slashed and a giant cat, the leader, stood over her like he was proud. He yowled and the remaining cats fled through the trees.
Just as Timber was about to turn, a purple like dust flew through his nose. His mind slipped as he was caught off guard and he passed out.
There are no spoilers for Scarlet/Violet in the following beyond what’s been shown in the first trailer and mention of bugs
I was thinking Pokémon today and sadly I haven’t been able to get to into the new games because the bugs early on really took me out of it. My partner is really loving it but I’m just gonna give it a few days and try to go into it, cause when I tried last time my game straight up crashed multiple times. But I’ve heard great things, from my partner and the exploration, from other mutuals about the story, others talking about how there’s those little town stories Johto type stories that I fucking ADORE and how despite how the game has obvious signs of crunch, creativity being rushed, there where little glamours of “oh hey remember that amazing ending in X and Y, yeah we can still do that” just a shine that as my partner says reminded them of the best of X and Y (I’ve heard more comparing it to Black And White? But afaik the game story is more similar to X and Y and it’s being compared to BnW bc of it being *good*)
But like I see all this praise, very fair criticism of how much crunch there is, the usual discourse where people call the devs lazy and then others put the blame rightly on corporate all tinged with a weird Japanese fetiishization, that Japanese game studios simply can’t exploit their workers because we don’t hear about it like we do Acti or Ubi (mostly because resources that translate those horrible issues arent as widespread atleast in my circles as they should be)
But maybe not to the same degree as idk what BnW and X and Y where to me, but this Pokémon generation feels *big* yknow? Like it feels chunky it feels like all my friends are raving about a different aspect about the game good or bad. The story, competitive and when I get to play. I I’ll probably rave about the region and cultural representation and history. Galar nor Alola felt *big* like Paldea, Paldea feels like it has stories that it wants to tell in its environment about the history of the region, the culture. Unlike Galar and Alola which felt very obvious “haha get it it’s a reference to London get it” which to be fair all the Pokémon games do, Kalos certainly does this. But there’s imho a difference between the city of Paris being contextualzied as the big city of a region, it’s little quirks translated into Pokémon with so much care to hightlight what makes a Parisian cafe special, what makes being a guy with a house in rural france special. Where as Galar imo was like “hey look that’s Big Ben, oh look the stadiums are like football the English love football”
To me Kanto all the way to Kalos felt like respectful tributes and inspirations that where obvious in a way I loved where as Alola and Galar felt like stereotypes in Pokémon form (previous regions had stereotypes but afaik they where less…prevalent?) Paldea seems to take a step back in the right direction, albeit the prevalence of wild areas kinda scares me but hey I’m excited to try it out
This is all to say that Paldea is seeming like a really solid region to explore, that it has modern Pokémon issues but there’s something there, there’s a charm there that I want so bad. And game freak really dropped all that to talk about JUST when Temtem got it’s full release huh.
Hi! do you think you could write something about fans meeting Drew and wanting pictures and stuff while he’s out with y/n and y/n is just really proud of him and offers to take some of the pictures for them and fans really love her.
Tumblr media
signings and impromptu goodies
"I love the city in the morning." y/n gleams at the nearby buildings while Drew held onto her hand, making their way towards the cafe on 6th.
People nod and say their 'good mornings' as the couple pass thousands of sleepy citizens, most getting ready for their days up above in apartments, maybe even still sleeping, or passing those who are already making their daily commute.
"I feel like people are nicer in the morning which is odd." Drew replies, looking around as the pair cross the street.
Y/n chuckles, tightening her grip on her boyfriend's large hand, his rings clinking against her's causing them to smile at one another before Drew reached for the front door of the cafe.
The bell above the door rings, signaling the workers that more customers have arrived for the morning rush, which caused the barista's and cashier's to look up and greet the couple happily.
"Good morning!" Drew and y/n say in unison while they stand in line, relieved that there are only three people ahead in line.
The line moves quickly and before they know it, Drew and y/n are ordering their regular iced lattes. On a whim, y/n decides to buy a box of treats, Drew bumps his hip into hers as she quickly inserts her card to pay for the order making the cashier chuckle at their banter of fighting over who'd pay.
"Shut up its just coffee and food!" y/n grumbles out as they move to the side and wait for their order.
Drew folds his arms over his chest, a playful glare slicing through y/n causing her to shove at his chest while shaking her head. "It was my turn, and you're starting classes again." he points making y/n scoff.
"Drew, really? can we not talk about this right now?" she questions making drew huff out in response.
The barista calls out y/n's name and hands them the lattes and the box of warm baked goodies. The couple thank the workers and head out towards the street, silently deciding to head towards the park and enjoy the morning air while people watching.
"Thank you," Drew finally says, "I love my coffee." he says, bumping his shoulder into y/n's, her giggle ringing around them as she rests her head against his arm.
"You're welcome." she hums as they turn the corner, nearing the park that's now coming into view. "Oh!" she says excitedly causing Drew's ears to perk up as he takes a sip of his latte, "I almost forgot to tell you about that apartment on-"
Y/n pauses as her and Drew both gasp out in shock as they hear a loud squeal from behind them, They turn around quickly to see where the noise is coming from and because their nosey, and they obviously need to know what's happening behind them.
To their surprise, they see a group of girls, younger than them, they're in school uniforms and Drew immediately understands why they're excited, and why they are making their way towards him and y/n.
"What is going- ohhhh!!" y/n nods happily as she steps back slightly to give Drew his space to meet the girls who begin to stand around him.
"Oh my God we saw you down the street and were scared to call your name!" one girl smiled.
"I couldn't not scream when I saw you!" another squealed.
"You're Drew Starkey right?" another one blushes.
Drew smiled happily, "Yes! It's nice to meet you guys! You can call my name any time." he chuckles making the girls swoon, blushing, and nervously looking at each other as they ask him to sign whatever they were carrying. Some asked him to sign their phones, backpacks, arms, and notebooks.
Giggles and loud murmuring erupt all around them as Drew make's conversation with the girls causing y/n to smile shyly, not really knowing how to act, or what to do.
"Can we get a picture?"
"Of course!" Drew says, watching the girl's take out their phones so they can all take selfies.
One girl peers over towards y/n and smiles and waves. Y/n smiles brightly and waves back, she shuffles closer causing the girls to turn their attention towards her.
"Hi guys!" y/n says.
"You're y/n!!" one girl says excitedly, "You guys are dating right?"
Drew smiles at y/n and pulls her towards him in conformation, "Yep, she's the reason why I'm always in New York!" he winks making everyone chuckle.
"You're so pretty!" One girl says.
"Thank you!" y/n blushes and laughs, pointing at the rest of the girl's before flying her hands up as she looks around at the pretty faces in font of her, "You all are literally so gorgeous! and so nice."
Conversation begins to flow between the small group, jokes, laughter, and questions fill the corner of 6th street as fans get to know an actor and his girlfriend.
More pictures begin to snap and y/n offers to take the photos, making sure to be generous by snapping a bunch to make sure that different angles and poses are being met.
"Can we all take a picture together?" the fan's ask Drew and Y/n making them happily oblige.
Even though y/n nods, she's shock as to why they want a picture with her in it, she's nowhere near famous, she's just a college girl with an average gpa.
"Lets all say, I'm a proactive person!" Drew shouts as he throws up his middle finger causing everyone to laugh and repeat after him, holding out their fingers to the camera as he snaps the group selfie. "This is amazing," he says looking at the picture. "I'm posting this and tagging you guys." he says making them all stare at him in shocked excitement.
While Drew begins his posting process, asking for the girl's instagrams, y/n grips onto the box of goodies as her eyes light up as an idea comes to mind. "Do you guys want some croissants or cannolis? I got them from the cafe down the block."
The girls all nod, thanking y/n as she opens the box for them to peer inside and take the ones that catch their eye. "These are so good. thank you y/n!"
"Of course!" she says before they all take turns going in to hug y/n and Drew. The girl's decide that they should probably head towards school before they end up being late which cause the couple to laugh and say their goodbyes, sending them on their way.
As the pair watch the group of girls head in the opposite direction, they decide to continue making their walk towards the park.
Drew smiles from ear to ear while looking down at his phone revealing the instagram picture that was now posted. Y/n beams up at him and kisses his shoulder, "I'm so proud proud of you. That was incredible."
Drew blushes, throwing his shoulder around her and squeezing her tight against his side, "I think they liked you more than me!" he jokes causing them to laugh loudly.
yandere! you ignoring them- nct dream
hyung line
maknae line
mark
one thing you should know about mark
he does not like to be ignored
he kept calling your phone
but to no avail, you weren’t picking up
livid, he ran to the cafe you worked at, causing a scene
“has anyone seen y/n l/n?” he shouts aggressively
the customers look around, confusion written all over their faces
he runs to the counter, peaking through the ‘employees only’ room as workers come in and out of the door
then he finally spots your figure as you make your way past the door
“y/n!!!! come here right this second”
it was annoying. he always belittled you. always made you feel like a small child compared to him.
it pissed you off that he came to your job, let alone, made a scene!
you went over to him only because you didn’t want him to cause an even bigger commotion
he pulls you close so that his mouth is aligned with your ear, “ not only did you ignore my calls, babygirl. but you disobeyed me by not coming to me the first time i called your name.”
“when we get home, get ready for your punishment.”
renjun
you were supposed to be watching a web drama with renjun when your best friend called you
he gave you the “don’t answer it” look
but you answered anyway, saying it wouldn't take long
10 minutes went by and you were still on the phone
getting sick of this, he asked you when your phone call would end, “come on, let’s watch the drama…”
you only glanced at him before turning back to your phone
okay, now you’ve done it. renjun is fuming.
he snatched the phone out of your hand and threw it from the balcony window
you went to the balcony rail to see where your phone landed
the phone landed right in the middle of the street
not even ten seconds later a truck ran over the phone, smashing it into pieces
you looked at the crime scene in horror
“looks like you need a new phone. oh well. that’s what happens when you don’t listen to me.”
you slowly turned around, anger boiling inside of you
jeno
you were walking down the street on your way home when jeno called you
you didn’t answer because you were about to cross the street that led to your apartment building
then suddenly it started to rain
you walked quickly across the street, trying not to get your hair wet
you ran to the front entrance of the building, hurriedly getting inside the warm building
finally making it to your door, you entered your apartment
your boyfriend walking back and forth not noticing your presence
until you shut the door behind you, causing him to lookup
he embraced you in a deep hug, “i thought something bad happen to you. you don’t know how worried i was,” he sighs in relief.
he wasn’t mad that you ignored him. he could never be mad at you. he was more worried than anything. scared that something bad had happened to you.
in a way, he can be very possessive of you.
he hates it when he’s not by your side because he can’t easily protect you if he’s not with you.
“from now on, i’m picking you up from work.”
haechan
haechan had bought tickets to a musical
you were supposed to meet up with haechan at the theater by 6:45 pm but you were running late
he kept calling you to notify you that the show would be starting in 15 minutes. you denied each call.
haechan was angry because he spent so much money on these tickets
if you don’t show, then he did all of this for nothing
when you finally do show up, it’s 7:15, the show had already begun, and haechan grew angry
“sorry i’m late”, you say. “oh, it’s no problem. i only waited, say, 30 minutes outside.” he stated sarcastically. okay, he was mad.
sitting in your assigned seats, you tried whispering to him that you were sorry, but he didn’t budge.
majority of the car ride home, haechan talking about the show while you stared out the window finding the dull night sky more interesting than this uncomfortable small talk.
“y/n! did you hear me?” I continued staring out the window, not wanting to talk to him right now.
“so you’re ignoring me, is that it? just wait until we get home.”
takes one to know one || fushiguro megumi
➵ megumi just wants to buy some flowers from the nice stall attendant he definitely doesn’t have a crush on in peace. gojou has other plans.
wc: 2.4k
warnings: gn!reader, incoherent chaos
a/n: gracie dearest this one’s for you :( you are so sweet and so lovely to me and i’m so, so glad we met in this hellscape (i would personally like to thank psycho-pass for existing) i hope i did your boy well!
By the time he arrives at Jujutsu Tech, Megumi knows the flowers are a mistake.
“For me?” Gojou gasps, hands clasped and mouth agape in perhaps his most punchable smile. “Oh, you shouldn’t have.”
Megumi’s fist tightens around the handle of his bouquet. Today, it’s lilacs, irises and white lilies. It’s also much bigger than usual – too big to inconspicuously leave on someone’s fence or place in the school gardens.
“You can have them if you want,” he murmurs. What else is he supposed to do with them?
The delight on Gojou’s face collapses into a precarious mix of genuine confusion and insatiable curiosity. “Hah? They’re not for anyone?”
“No,” Megumi says. And if they were, I wouldn’t tell you. Although he doesn’t say that last part. Gojou would perceive it as a challenge, and the less he knew about Megumi’s private life, the better.
“So…” A grin splits Gojou’s face. “The person you bought them from must be special, then.”
Megumi freezes for just a second. But he knows a second is enough for Gojou to glean all the information he needs.
“Ah,” Gojou hums. “I see.”
“No, you don’t,” Megumi mumbles, well-aware of the heat rising in his cheeks.
“But why would you go out of your way to buy a bouquet of flowers, hm?” Gojou grins, shit-eating grin back on his face. “They don’t hand these out for free, you know.”
Megumi’s grip is so firm he’s scared he’ll crush the stems.
Although, he still doesn’t know what he’s going to do with them. It doesn’t feel right to throw them out – not when you’d spent time putting it together – but he wasn’t about to revamp his room with a distinctly floral accent.
Is it against social protocol to give the flowers back to you? Not now, of course, but maybe on his evening walk… or tomorrow morning…
He still doesn’t know why he didn’t just walk past you that first day.
But something about the way you were gazing out into the street, eyes wide and hopeful as you watched people ignore you on their daily commute… something about that drew him in.
And once he’d bought something from you once – just a small flower, one he didn’t know the name of, but seemed appropriate behind a cute girl’s ear – he couldn’t very well start ignoring you.
Not when your smile is so bright, your eyes sparkling with gratitude whenever he takes whatever floral arrangement you’ve lovingly bundled together out of your hands.
But now he’s paying the price – in more ways than one.
✧ ✧ ✧
Your flower stall is just a few feet away from one of the trendiest cafes in this area of Tokyo, and whoever oversees your little operation is obviously trying to capitalise on that. Setting up so early must be an attempt to catch the rush of bleary-eyed corporate workers craving their necessary morning coffee.
What use an office worker has for flowers, Megumi doesn’t know. But he has a feeling that you’d probably say something along the lines of “it’ll help brighten the place up.”
As usual, you’re waiting there patiently, eyes hopefully scanning the streets for any potential customers. Your face positively lights up when you finally catch sight of him – something that still makes Megumi nearly trip over his own feet.
“Good morning!” You call out, waving to him.
Megumi raises a hand in response, shuffling towards you with all the embarrassment of a high schooler on their way to their first date.
“Can I interest you in a floral arrangement on this fine Saturday morning?” You grin, eyes twinkling as you make your marketing pitch.
“Sure,” Megumi sighs, scanning the vast array of flowers currently on display. He’s getting better at picking them out, but he still can’t name any of them on sight.
You wait patiently, hands folded on the counter. If you think he’s an idiot, you keep it to yourself.
“Those ones,” he says, pointing at a group of blue heart-shaped flowers.
“The morning glories?” You ask reflexively, reaching over to pluck a bunch out of their display.
“Yeah,” Megumi shrugs. He has no idea what a morning glory is. The term sounds like something Gojou and Yuji would snicker at.
“They’re gorgeous,” you smile, taking a moment to admire them.
“Yeah,” Megumi says again.
Flowers aren’t really his thing; God help him if he was ever asked what his favourite kind was. But there’s no point in saying any of that – not when he’s already spent an embarrassing amount of money at this one stall.
“You’re keeping the business afloat, you know,” you giggle, as if reading his mind.
Megumi blinks at you. “Really?”
“Mhm,” you nod. “It wouldn’t be amiss to say you’re our most important patron.” You beam at him, same sparkle in your eyes as always.
He’d be furious, if you weren’t so nice.
How is he supposed to focus when you’re looking at him like that? How’s he supposed to ask who ‘we’ is? A business partner? A partner partner?
But you look so young. You can’t possibly be running a business. But you might have a boyfriend. Or a girlfriend. Or both. Or a partner of an otherwise non-binary gender.
Too many questions, no social capacity to ask them.
“So,” Megumi begins, his voice calm and composed as ever. His mind, however, is scrambling around like a fast-food joint at rush hour, trying to string together a sentence that’s not only coherent but also fascinating.
“How old are you?”
Whoops.
It’s the forbidden question. Or, at least, that’s what people always say. People, in this case, is Gojou. It usually is.
You seem unbothered. “I turn seventeen this year.”
Was it only a forbidden question for people who’re older? But in that case, surely knowing someone’s age was pertinent for the whole ‘respect’ thing. Maybe Gojou just didn’t think he should ever ask anyone’s age because then he’s not beholden to honorifics.
But Megumi can’t imagine him using them properly anyway.
That’s not the point. The point is that you’re the same age as him. You weren’t somehow twenty-seven with a baby face.
“Oh,” Megumi nods. “Me too.”
The smile you give him is almost unbearable. How is it even more of a smile than your usual smile? That doesn’t make any sense.
There’s a certain excitement bubbling in his gut that he doesn’t recognise or like.
Wait, if you’re his age, then…
“Do you not go to school on Saturdays?” He asks.
Is this conversation too dry? He’s not sure. He doesn’t usually make an effort at this sort of thing.
“My school doesn’t have classes on Saturday mornings,” you smile, meticulously wrapping brown paper around the stems of a set of particularly bright morning glories. You always do it so delicately; where on earth do you find the patience?
There’s something… graceful, about how you go about it. Sure, it’s your job, but Megumi still enjoys watching you work because—
“Hello there!”
Megumi knows that voice.
Oh no.
“Hello!” You fold your hands in front of you and give your new customer a bow. But your usual smile has been replaced with an expression of middling confusion as you look him up and down.
Megumi doesn’t need to turn around to know who’s standing behind him.
“Who’d’ve thought there’d be so many kinds of flowers in bloom, huh?” Gojou grins, slinging a lanky arm around Megumi’s shoulders.
Megumi glances to the side.
A pair of startingly blue eyes peek at him from behind black shades.
“What are you doing here?” He asks through gritted teeth.
“Oh, I thought I’d just come out for a morning stroll,” Gojou sighs, gesturing to the sky. “Don’t you think it’s gorgeous?”
Megumi’s ready to commit a murder.
“And look at all these flowers!” Gojou exclaims, bending down to peer at some asters closely. “Did you grow them all yourself?”
“Of course not,” you laugh. “I just sell them.”
Jealous maybe isn’t the right word. But there is a twisting in Megumi’s gut upon the realisation that within minutes of meeting you, Gojou had made you laugh. Megumi, on the other hand, was yet to do that.
“Well, either way, my student is a big fan,” Gojou smirks, shaking Megumi’s shoulder. Megumi’s soul is currently leaving his body.
“I was just telling him that he’s our most valued customer,” you smile, tilting your head at the pair of them.
“Ah, is that so?” Gojou grins. It’s amazing, really, how he manages to capture all the terror of the apocalypse in one smile. “I never really took him as a flower guy.”
“Everyone’s a flower guy, sir,” you tsk, shaking your head. “Even you.”
Gojou places an affronted hand on his chest. “So quick to make assumptions!”
“Not at all,” you smile. “You’d be surprised by what our customer base looks like.”
“You don’t say,” Gojou grins, turning to Megumi.
Megumi considers the consequences of punching Gojou right in the nether regions. He doubts he’d be punished for it by the higher ups; if anything, he’ll probably be rewarded. Maybe even pushed up a grade for his invaluable service.
“Fushiguro!”
Oh no.
Megumi’s eyes widen ever so slightly. His head whips round to Gojou. His teacher is already looking straight at him.
“Ah,” Gojou grins. “I told Yuji to meet me here this morning.” The glint in his eyes strikes terror right through Megumi’s departing soul.
Sure enough, Itadori barrels his way towards them, damn near colliding against Megumi with a ‘thump’.
Megumi can do something but stare into the abyss, hoping, wishing, praying this is just a nightmare.
Unfortunately, it’s not.
You give the newest addition to this strange little posse a customary bow. “Good morning!”
Itadori beams at you, his entire face lighting up. “Good morning!”
A strange panic starts to rise from Megumi’s gut. If he thought about it, you and Itadori would get along well. Too well.
Thoughts of you and Itadori walking hand in hand down the street as you laugh, Itadori offering you his coat on a clod morning as you blush, Itadori walking you home, rubbing the back of his neck bashfully as you lean towards him and –
Megumi blinks the thoughts away. What is wrong with him today?
You and Itadori have just met. And what was it to Megumi anyway? It’s not like he—
“Megumi?” Itadori tilts his head at him.
Megumi stares back blankly. “Hm?”
“I wanted to know how you found this place,” Itadori asks, voice bright but with the uncertain quality inherent to repeating oneself.
“Oh,” Megumi murmurs. “Well, I…”
In truth, he doesn’t remember. He just saw you one morning and decided to approach. He still doesn’t know why. But he doesn’t regret it.
“I roped him in with my charm,” you piqued up, picking up the lull in conversation.
Try as he might, Megumi just can’t concentrate. Itadori’s pressed against him, Gojou’s still got his arm slung around his shoulder, and—
“Ah, Nobara’s here!” Gojou beams, waving a hand over his head.
“What are you doing here of all places?” Nobara frowns, raising an eyebrow at Megumi. “I wouldn’t have taken this as your sort of scene.”
If there’s a hell, Megumi’s sure it’s this.
Conversation is bubbling around him but none of it is registering in his mind, he can see Nobara’s dissatisfied look as she takes in the situation at hand but he doesn’t have the energy to retort, Gojou is playing with the petals of one of the display flowers but Megumi knows he’s not going to buy it and—
“Hey, Megumi?”
He snaps back to reality at the sound of your voice, gentle and concerned.
“Are you alright?” You ask, tilting your head to the side. It’s as if you’re completely ignoring the rabble, as if you see him and only him.
Next to him Gojou, Yuji and Nobara watch with rapt attention.
“Yeah,” he lies. “I didn’t sleep well last night.”
You frown at you look at him. Something flashes in your eyes and you suddenly duck beneath your countertop.
Megumi and his gaggle of fools blink in surprise.
In a moment you hop back up, something purple bundled up in your hands. “Here,” you smile, handing it out to him, “this is supposed to help you sleep.”
One whiff and he knows it’s lavender.
“How much?” Megumi asks.
You shake your head. “Oh, no. It’s on me.”
Megumi’s heart flutters as you smile. Despite the chaos going on around him, despite the fact that he knows he’s going to be mocked for this for weeks to come, he’s grateful.
Somehow.
“Sorry about this…” he mumbles, rubbing the back of his neck.
“It’s fine,” you giggle, shaking your head.
Megumi feels Gojou chuckle quietly, his chest rattling. Itadori is unusually quiet and Nobara seems moments away from a laughing fit.
“I should go,” Megumi says quickly and suddenly. He doesn’t give you time to respond, zipping down the street as fast as his feet can carry him. He needs a shower and then a run and then he needs to beat a training dummy up and then—
“Wait, Megumi!”
He freezes in his tracks. That’s… your voice.
And around his wrist is… is…
He turns to look at you over his shoulder, eyes darting for where you hand wraps around his wrist. Why is his heart racing so absurdly fast? Why does it feel like his head’s about to explode? You’re just holding his wrist. You’re not even touching his skin. Not that it matters—
“Will I see you tomorrow?” You ask, not quite able to meet his gaze.
It brings him back to the moment.
“Of course,” Megumi answers reflexively.
You finally lift your eyes up. They seem to be sparkling. “I look forward to it.”
Before he even has time to process it you’ve let him go and trotted back to your stall, tending to your flowers as if nothing’d happened.
This has been too much embarrassment for one day. He’s not entirely sure what’s going on and he’s not sure he wants to know. But man, he needs at least several hours alone to process everything.
As Megumi shuffles away, Gojou bounds after him, still grinning like a fool.
“So, Megumi’s got himself a—”
Megumi elbows him in the stomach before Gojou even has a chance to finish his sentence.
Stuck Between a Vampire and a Werewolf | part 9
a/n: angst y’all!!! so happy with this chapter 😌
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“With midterms coming up and all, I’m gonna take some time to just focus on all of my assignments before spring break,” you tell Emmett as you two are leaving class. It was a chilly day, so you were wearing a hoodie.
But Paul remained in your mind, how he could warm you up within seconds with just his body heat. Something Emmett couldn’t do.
Stop!
Lately, your mind has been comparing the two, but you have to keep reminding yourself you love Emmett, he is your boyfriend. Paul is just a friend. Unfortunately for you, the imprint bond was tugging you too hard, which is why you were feeling this way.
“Okay. Carlisle has been needing my help with building some new shelf or piece of furniture for one of his co-workers, so I’ll help him with that while you be a responsible college student on her way to a university.” You chuckle and give him a side hug as you arrive at his car.
“Well, I’m headed to the cafe for an hour or two,” you tell him, though it’s a partial lie. Paul asked you to go to lunch today after class, so you were going to La Push to the local diner to meet up with him.
“Stay safe, I love you,” Emmett mumbles against your forehead, pressing a kiss to it. You smile, eyes falling shut. Guilt washes over you for a split second, making you gulp.
The entire drive to La Push, your mind races with things to talk about with Paul. This was going to be your first time hanging out outside of the pack, so you had to talk about something besides vampires, werewolves, and things alike.
You quickly find a parking spot in the lot next to the diner. Taking a deep breath, you get out of your car and head inside, immediately seeing Paul in a booth towards the back. He waves you down with a small smile.
“Hi,” you greet him, taking a seat across from him.
“How was class?” He asks.
“Boring. We’ve just been working on our mid-term projects, and it’s so much work.”
“Oh, so English literature is too much work?” He teases. You roll your eyes at him just as a waiter comes over to take your drink orders.
The rest of the lunch went well. You mainly talked about his transformation and life before he phased, what he liked to do and what he likes to do now, the friendships he lost and gained, everything.
It was nice to be with him away from the pack, as he was slightly more relaxed and willing to open up and be honest with you without the rest of the pack teasing him for “being soft” as Jared would put it.
He was also willing to tell you anything you wanted to know and answer any questions about being an imprint.
“So will you always just be with me?” You confirm your imprint status. “I mean, there’s nothing I need to do or anything to, like, accept it?”
“I mean, you already did accept it, the night of the bonfire. But fully accepting it is the next step, but that’s talk for another day. And there’s nothing else you need to do, other than spend some time with me, as much as you can.”
“With school and-”
“I know, I know. I’m just saying, if you want to go on vacation with the lee…Emmett, for two weeks, I’ll need to at least call you to hear your voice. And I don’t know if he’ll be okay with that.” You sigh and nod, looking down. “Does he know?”
You shake your head in response, scared of how Paul was going to react.
“Do you plan on telling him?” He calmly asks. Gazing up at him, you see a soft look on his face, one that almost holds sorrow, sorrow for your current situation.
“I know I should, but I don’t know when the right time is. It’s a lot to take in, dating a vampire, and then finding out a natural enemy of his is supposed to be your soulmate or something like that. I’ve just been trying to deal with it all, and I may tell him over spring break, just so it’s not getting in the way of school.”
“He needs to know,” Paul says. “He deserves to know.”
“He does, but…I just don’t want to deal with the repercussions.” Paul reaches across the table, holding his hand out for you to take. Grinning, you place your hand in his and he immediately closes his around yours.
“I’ll be here for you if things go bad,” he reassures you.
“Thank you,” you whisper.
After lunch, you two head to the beach, one of Paul’s favorite places. Paul drives, promising to bring you back to get your car at the diner.
“How often do you come here?” You wonder, walking a few feet from the shoreline. You were bundled up, due to it being early spring, the weather still relatively cold.
Paul, however, with his wolf-like body temperature, was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of cropped pants, different from his usual cutoff shorts.
“A lot more than the others. It helps clear my mind and calm me down. Whenever one of them gets on my nerves, I phase and run here, turning back before anyone can see. I’ll usually find a rock or a piece of driftwood and just sit and listen to the waves.”
“How much do the other guys get on your nerves for you to come here a lot?” You ask with a small grin and light-hearted tone in your voice. Paul’s expression drops, though. He knew he was going to have to tell you about his anger issues now or never.
“Well, there’s one thing you don’t really know about me. Before I transformed, I had a lot of anger issues. So much that I used to punch holes in my wall, and my dad hated it. He got tired of it. When I finally phased, I made a promise to myself that I would get better and control my anger. I’m easily set off sometimes, and it causes me to phase into my wolf form instead of just punching a wall.”
“Oh,” you mumble.
“But I promise I’m getting better. I want to, for you, actually.” Your head shoots up to find him already looking at you.
“For me?” He nods.
“I don’t want you dealing with my angry self all the time. And I really don’t want to run the risk of hurting you,” his voice tapers off. “If I happen to get angry with you during a fight and accidentally phase and hurt you, I would never forgive myself.”
“Oh Paul,” you stop walking and step in front of him, grabbing his hands. “You’re not going to hurt me, I know it. The way you look at me, the fact that you recognize your problem, and the sincerity in your voice on how hard you’re trying to work on your anger, I know nothing will happen.” Paul smiles thankfully and pulls you in for a hug.
It lasts a few seconds before you pull away and walk closer to the shoreline, leaving Paul to watch you with so much adoration in his eyes. He quickly catches up to you as you kneel down to pick up a shell. You run to the waves crashing against the sand and wash it off, showing it to Paul.
“One thing my family and I did whenever we would go to a beach in California, collect shells.”
“That’s one thing I’ve never done,” he admits. You gasp jokingly, making him laugh.
“Then get to work, wolf boy! And shark teeth are extra points.”
The following day, Paul invites you to dinner with the pack, also asking you to have a movie night with him afterwards at his house, with just him.
“How are things with Emmett?” Emily asks you in the kitchen as you get another plate. No one else was in there, so she felt comfortable asking. There was no way any pack member would bring him up, especially around Paul.
“Things are…going,” you respond. “He’s super sweet and caring, not to mention how funny and cheeky he is.” Emily laughs.
“It sounds like you aren’t sure?” She suddenly turns serious. You sigh, setting your plate down.
“In a way, yes. I do love him, I really do. He takes great care of me and he knows how to treat a girl, really. But Paul, the imprint bond, I feel like it’s tearing me away from Emmett, and I don’t know how to feel about it.”
Emily rests her hand on your shoulder, gently rubbing it.
“You’ll figure out where you’re supposed to be soon. But just make sure it’s the right decision. If you want to be with Emmett, you’re going to have to break the news to Paul and find a way to maintain peace between the two. If you want to be with Paul, you have to make sure Emmett won’t come back and get revenge on the pack.”
You take her words in, nodding along.
“I don’t know what I want,” you whisper, rubbing your face in a stressful manner. Sensing your discomfort and sadness, Paul is in the kitchen within seconds, eyebrows furrowed in worry.
“Is everything okay?” He asks you specifically, but also Emily.
“Everything's fine. I just realized I still have so much homework to do,” you put on a fake facade, not to worry him further.
Once dinner wraps up, you and Paul head over to his place.
“Is there a specific movie you wanna watch?” Paul asks, handing you the remote to flip through the streaming service he has.
“A comedy, please. I’m in the mood for something funny.” Paul heads to the kitchen to make some popcorn while you find the comedy section. After a little, you realize you aren’t entirely in the mood to laugh, but get your heart broken as well.
So you land on Sleepless in Seattle.
When Paul returns, finding the opening scene different than he was expecting, he gives you a strange look.
“I thought you wanted comedy? This looks really sad,” he says. You shrug, grabbing a small handful of popcorn.
“I did, but I haven’t watched this in forever, and I remember loving it a lot.” Paul sighs and takes a seat next to you.
“What exactly is it?”
“Sleepless in Seattle. It’s a romantic comedy.” Paul groans loudly at the genre, throwing his back back.
“A chick flick? Really?” He complains. You giggle and slap his shoulder, breaking his facade immediately. He truly didn’t care, whatever you wanted to watch, he was happy to as well.
About halfway through the film, you were really into it, but Paul couldn’t help but draw comparisons to you and him and Annie and Sam, Emmett in this scenario being Walter, Annie’s fiancee.
Suddenly, he pauses the movie.
“What’s going on?” You wonder. Paul just stares straight forward, trying to gain the courage to say what he was truly thinking.
“Would you ever consider doing what Annie’s doing? Think about leaving Emmett?” He finally asks. You are stunned silent.
“W-what?” Paul turns to you, wanting to grab your hands, but judging by your reaction, he doesn’t.
“Would you leave Emmett for me? To live a better, more stable life? With someone who truly loves you and would be anything and do anything for you?”
“Paul, where the hell is this coming from?! That is not at all what is happening in the movie.”
“I know, but my mind has been racing and-”
“It’s also pretty insulting for you to think Emmett doesn’t truly love me.”
“(Y/N), just hear me out, plea-”
“No,” you suddenly stand, walking over to grab your jacket and slip your shoes on. “Please take me home.” Paul is dumbfounded but nods.
As soon as Paul parks in front of your house, you wait to get out, letting him know if he wants to say anything else, this is his time to do so.
“I heard you and Emily talking in the kitchen,” he admits. You continue to stare straight forward, although you listen closely. “How you aren’t sure what you want, me or him.”
“You know, it’s not really nice to listen in on people’s private conversations,” you scold. Paul sighs and shakes his head.
“All I’m saying is that Annie second guessed her relationship with Walter, the same way you are second guessing with Emmett. I don’t know how the movie ends, but I do know that if you love someone, but you fall in love with someone else, you should always be with the second person. If you truly loved the former, you wouldn’t have fallen in love with the latter.”
“I…haven’t fallen in love with you,” you whisper. “But the imprint bond is pulling me towards you and making me second guess everything.”
“It means the imprint is doing what it’s supposed to do.” You don’t respond to this, and instead gather your things. “All I ask is that you think over the options you have. Live with me as a human, or die and live a long, eternal life with Emmett, leaving everyone in your life behind.”
“Okay, Paul,” you mumble, exiting his car and heading inside. He stays put, making sure you get inside safely. He drives away as soon as the door shuts.
His words ring in your head, especially the part about being with Emmett. You didn’t get much sleep that night, too caught up in your thoughts.
