Amortentia
Summary: Pansy forces a secret out of you, and you’re strongly debating which curse/jinx to use on her.

Word Count: 749
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
Tumblr media
“It’s a nice out tonight.”
You sat down on the edge of the astronomy tower next to Draco. The summer breeze danced across your heated cheeks, cooling you down. The events from twenty minutes ago still boiled your blood and you wanted nothing more than to go back to the Slytherin common room and give Pansy a good wack. Maybe even a curse or jinx.
“What do you want, Draco?” you asked, not daring to look over at him.
“What’s Pansy talking about?”
You took a deep breath. Apparently Draco wasn’t going to beat around the bush with this. You could see him looking at you from your peripherals, his blue eyes haunting in the moonlight. You debated your options. Tell Draco what started this mess, or pretend like you didn’t know. Instinctively, you wanted to choose the latter, but Draco knew you too well, and he’d know you were lying. Even without looking at him. You pursed your lips.
“Remember the Amortentia potion?” you started. You didn’t give him the opportunity to answer as you continued. “I didn’t smell my boyfriend – ex-boyfriend. I smelled you.” You kept your eyes on the moon, ignoring your peripherals. Ignoring your body tingling as Draco scooted closer to you. “Pansy asked me who I smelled. She found out, somehow. I didn’t even tell her, didn’t want to.”
“You always were a bad liar,” Draco said softly. You noted the way his fingers twitched where it rested on his leg, almost as if he wanted to touch you, but decided against it.
“Yeah,” you responded. “I am.” Your heart beat in your chest wildly. Of all the things he could have said, he decided to point out your inability to lie? Had you not just dropped a bomb of information on him? Did he not even care? Your stomach flipped at the thought, legs tingling. What if he didn’t care? What would you do? Would your friendship be over?
You dared a peak at Draco. He was looking at the moon now, admiring her glow. Her haunted rays of light made Draco almost glow, the light bouncing off his light blonde hair. He looked almost like an angel. A haunted, fallen angel. You looked away from him and focused your gaze on the ground hundreds of feet below you. You’re not even sure if you could see the ground properly, or if that was just a thick layer of mist.
“It’s a good thing for me, though,” Draco said suddenly, breaking the awkward silence. Or maybe the silence was only awkward for you?
“Why?”
Draco looked at you, a small smile playing on his lips. “Because I like bad liars. I like you.”
Your eyes met Draco’s and you searched for any deceit. The only thing you saw was sincerity and…longing. Had he always looked at you like that?
You shifted under his gaze and returned your eyes to the floor—or the mist—whatever that was.
“You don’t have to pity me, Draco.”
You heard him scoff. “I was never taught to pity anyone. I’m telling the truth, Y/N, I like you. More than a friend. And I think you like me more than a friend, too.”
It was your turn to scoff now, only when you did it, it sounded more like a weak laugh. “What gave it away — the amortentia?”
Draco smiled and moved closer to you. “Something like that.”
You returned the smile and rested your head on his shoulder. You took a deep breath of relief and contentment. Apples. Leather. Galleons. Just as you had smelt in the potion days ago.
Perhaps a part of you had always known your feelings for Draco were beyond that of friendship. He was the closest person in your life, had been there the longest, too. Whatever shit was going on with your parents, you had always found each other. It seemed fitting you would find your way to be together, and you were sure your parents would have arranged it anyways. Purebloods, they would have said, are meant to be together. That didn’t matter to you. You were with Draco because you wanted to.
You looked up at him through your lashes to find that he was already looking at you. Without missing a beat, you leaned forward and kissed him. His lips were soft and a bit dehydrated, but it felt right. This felt right. You both were still children in society’s eyes, but you knew, somehow, that this would last.

Asteroids - The Nine Muses
Tumblr media
Hello everyone!
We are back today with an introductory post to our next series: The asteroids associated with the nine muses in Greek Mythology!
We wanted to give a little background on these by talking about their mythology overall, and make this a little landing page for these asteroids. Each of the muses is associated with a talent or gift of some sort, usually in the fine arts, and their asteroids are associated with the same gifts. Each muse is going to have a different post where we talk about the mythology behind the asteroid, as well as what it affects or indicates in someone's individual birth chart.
*Please do not copy, redistribute, or alter and claim our work as your own. We work really hard on our content, so please be considerate and credit us for the time, effort, knowledge, and love we put into our posts. All of our astrology posts are for entertainment purposes only (we aren't licensed in things like medicine or psychology so we legally have to put this here) and as such should be taken as they resonate, and not as legal, medical, or health advice. Not everything will fit with you exactly with astrology in every situation, so please be discerning about what feels right for you. 💜 *
Mythology:
The nine muses are the beautiful daughters of Zeus, the ruler of the gods, and Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory. The story is that Zeus found Mnemosyne very attractive, and disguised himself as a human shepherd in order to lure her into sleeping with him. They slept together for nine consecutive nights, and each night they conceived one of the muses. They were all born in Pieria at the foot of Mount Olympus. It is said that Mnemosyne gave the babies to Apollo and a nymph named Eufime. Apollo raised them on Mount Parnassus, Helicon, or Elikonas. (It's debated where they actually resided between these three places). He taught them to express their talents in the arts, as he himself was a god who loved fine arts and music. They grew up to perform for, and entertian, the gods residing on Mount Olympus. In doing so they also were the ones who encouraged inspiration and imagination for many artists and scientists.
In other myths: The Muses are sometimes referred to as water nymphs, and there are some accounts of them having been born from the four sacred springs on Mount Helicon that appeared when Pegasus stomped his foot on the ground there.
The muses are known as the inspirational goddesses of literature, sciences, and the arts (including art, music, dancing, etc.) The etymology of the word "muse" has a meaning of desire, wish, or inspiration, and this word is also where we get the modern day "museum" from. (Which honestly makes sense you know...because museums have art and science in them.) Muses are seen, even today, as inspiration for artistic creation. That's why we have the term "my muse." They are also inspiration for the creation of many instruments, languages, and different types of writing and poetry.

Asteroid Urania #30: How You May Process Astrology & Mathematics 🌟📘 + Urania #30 through the 12 Houses <33
Tumblr media
Hey everyone; today I want to discuss Asteroid Urania.
What is Asteroid Urania?
Looking into the background information on this Asteroid, I came to find out that Urania is known as a Greek Goddess; Daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. She is also one of the 9 Muses in Greek Culture.
Urania represents the connection to creating abstract thinking and providing deep knowledge/understanding to subjects in regards to Astronomy, Cosmology, Philosophy, and even Mathematics.
Wherever Urania #30 is positioned in your birth chart, it can show how you process the terms stated above (Astronomy, Astrology, Cosmology, Philosophy, and Mathematics).
------
I now want to discuss how Urania can influence you to process and guide your learning/understanding with Astrology and Math through the birth chart.
Below, I will go through all 12 Houses, interpreting Urania's influence and ability to affect you based on where she lies within your own birth chart!
Urania in the 1st - Astrological and Mathematical concepts/subjects are introduced in a direct manner; you may experience these subjects as very inviting, refreshing, surprising, or viewed in your own method of understanding. Your own perceptions are projected through both subjects.
Urania in the 2nd - Using/Understanding Astrology and Mathematics can benefit well in ways where you may gain close and codependent connections within both studies. Peers may rely on you for your solutions and interpretations of both subjects to the point where you may receive gifts from them. There is a sense of reliance here; you provide comfort and reassurance through the work you may do within these subjects. You can also benefit well allowing to give and receive information, Awards and Achievements on a personal scale for your efforts are possible as well.
Urania in the 3rd - Astrological and Mathematical based information is well expressed through forms of self-curated ideas, observation, perception through thought, and in forms of communication (open discussion, debate, self created content) that could mostly bode well in the online world (forums, social media, video content). You may do well with bringing in new ideas and planning online events for your peers based off of the ideas you create or base off with others. Using the web and computer based items can help you become a teacher and guide others through your interpretations and mathematical solutions.
Urania in the 4th - Concepts regarding Astrology and Math are introduced or taught through the family or ancestors; there is a lineage where the concepts of Astrology and Mathematics may come together (individual may have people involved with either subjects in a very important/longstanding matter). Urania in the 4th has a very strong connection to how they interpret or how they learn either subjects, so a need to push into more outer terms and interpretation is needed. You must be guided to reach out to new understandings/solutions through sharing or using the collective to strength your abilities in Astrology and/or Math. Private or closed off communities ay be your favorite space.
Urania in the 5th - Astrology and Mathematics can be presented/expressed with a lot of enthusiasm, confusion, and full of multiple grand opportunities. Big realizations with either study happen after a long period of time; you're able to hold alot of information and observation of both which can make you someone that is heavily reliable and admired by peers secretly. You may receive a lot of backlash for the way you view both studies in detailed terms, but its powerful all in the end. Financial situations may come up in places where you involve yourself seriously with either study; you can implement your actions and words into people permanently.

You may have used your abilities in understanding both subjects from powerful or admirable individuals; methods of interpretation and solution benefit you from how you well you have attained the information through constant practice, failure, and endurance. Peers around you my admire how you treat either subject, especially through presentation and class; there is a chance you're able to get involved with conferences and performances having to do with either study. You can also receive a lot of jealousy and backlash from peers due to how you treat your study with power, control, and strictness. You are bound to have many looking to you for your works, so you may have many that look up to you and rely on your interpretations.
Urania in the 11th - Studies, professions, and understanding the concepts of Astrology or Math come through or from communities that you are involved in from the start. You're able to use communities and public/social events to broaden your view on both studies; there is a chance you can use both studies for charity or humanitarian purposes. You can grow in various communities or create friendships that are involved with either practice; there is also a chance you may be able to help friendships with mathematics or astrology!
Urania in the 12th - Astrology and Math are introduced to you in ways where they can misunderstood or projected on as tough or confusing; you must find your own method of study with either you choose to invest yourself in. Forms of study around may leave you out of the loop or you simply can't understand anyone else's method of understanding of either subject so you are able to create your own. A lot of misunderstandings, backlash, and projections may come in due to this, but you rise to your own power when you choose to create your own understanding of these subjects.

Why Ancient Indian Literatures are Extinct today?
Tumblr media
Ancient Indian Literatures were high even before few hundred years ago but now except few university courses under UGC India and some foreign enthusiasts in University of Michigan or University of Heidelberg etc, general students avoid reading those old articles.
Argument of this topic is why Indian students or their parents are not suggesting Indian Ancient History or Ancient literature as a career in today’s world?
If we go back to those beautiful pastimes of Indian education, from 3600 plus years ago, almost all great courses in Art, Literature, Science, Philosophy etc, were being taught only in Indian Universities.
Taxila or Takshashila University
Mithila University
Telhara University
Sharada Peeth Temple University
Nalanda University
Vallabhi University
Pushpagiri University
Odantapuri University
Vikramshila University
Sompura University
Bikrampur University
Morena Golden Triangle University
Kanthalloor Sala University
Jagaddala University and so on…
Some Indian scholars in Mathematics were Aryabhatta, Baudhayan, Brahmgupta, Bhaskaracharya, Mahaviracharya. Some famous scientists were Kanaad, Varahamihir, Nagarjuna. Medical Science was also highly developed in ancient India. It is hard to name all of them. Based on my minor research I have only few names as below.
“Sushruta Samahita” on Principles of Surgery and Medicine – by Sushruta, 100 BCE.
“Aryabhattiyam” on Principles of Astrophysics - by Aryabhatta, 476 CE
“Artha Sasthra” on Commerce & Business Administrations – by Chanakya, 375 BCE
“Pancha Sidhanta” on Treatises on Astronomy – by Varahamihir, 505 CE
“Patanjalayoga Sastra” on Principles of Yoga – by Patanjali, 2BCE
“Charaka Samahita” on Principles of Aayurveda – by Charaka, 200 BCE
“Rasendra Mangalam” on Science of Alchemy – by Nagarjuna, 150 CE
“Vaiseshik Dashan” on Principles of Atomic Theory – by Kanaad, 6 BCE
“MahajyanayanaPrakara” on Principles of Calculus – by Madhava, 1340 CE
Tumblr media
When ancient Indian sages discovered that the great details on Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Philosophy, Astronomy, Health, Linguistics etc., were all there in Vedas which were that time in the form of “Shruti” which were only in the form of “what was being heard” from early Sages, they converted them into “Smriti” which were nothing but story telling or narrations of Vedas. This is to make things easy for the readers with more explanations on each branch of studies. Also, to make Vedas easy for the readers, ancient sages have concluded almost all details in texts distinguishing each part of Vedas (they are – Samahitas , Aranyakas and Brahmanas) for easy understanding.
Those great maestros (ancient Sages) not only have left these great treasures for the future generations but also tried in multiple ways to distribute that precious knowledge into various education systems in terms of texts, narrations, debate, explanations from past times (The Puranas) and conclusions (The Siddhantas) through help of Kings.
It is on us to consider this premium knowledge still available in various forms or reject it and again keep hunting for the remakes in more cosmetic and customized way. The irony of remakes is most of times the core values and ideologies would dissolve in versions.
Happy Reading….

Random Eilia Facts
so i just sort of realized ive been hc'ing all this stuff abt her but never really put it down anywhere so i thought id change that! as a result these are all v random factoids so bear with me but hopefully they'll be fun anyway <3
1. eilia is a first-rate nerd
always a curious girl with a passion for learning, eilia is a collector of factoids, an experimenter, and an advocate for the education of all. in her day she built public libraries and universities, and gave abundantly to foundations of learning, and esp to those that would benefit the under-privileged, particularly orphans, the poor, bastards (a sympathy roderick now calls 'damning,' implying she knew she was a bastard all along!), and women and in fact wrote and published a treatise on how this improves life for everyone not merely those receiving the education, etc!
def the sort who loves museums, pretensious poetry, and scholastic debates! she def had a reading group and all kinds of lively debates about philosophy, politics, ideals, art, science, and everything else intellectual on the daily w her friends and ladies during her reign!
eilia can absolutely be a bit pretentious abt these things and that certainly hasn't changed and, in fact, she doesn't quite view this as personal arrogance as she likely should, instead simply taking it all as part of her interests rather than a way to lowkey feel superior from ~within her interests~ by refusing to acknowledge that she can sometimes take this to a silly extreme, and viewing it solely as sophistication
eilia looks down on willful ignorance/close mindedness and condemns it as the worst sort of falsehood. as you can imagine, she's just adoring roderick's whole thing ;D lkajsdfkljsdf /sarcasm
2. eilia loves botany and astronomy!
building off her native curiosity, and likely informed by the astairan focus on plants/the earth and the stafford focus on the heavens/stars, eilia took to studying them from an early age. one of her favorite things to do is study the earth and the sky, seeing them almost as mirrors of one another!
even as a lil kid, eilia kept a garden all of her own and a journal of intense notes and sketches, rigorously studying plant lifecycles and experimenting with such things. this was an interest that also came in v handy as queen of a largely agrarian society, helping her to better understand what her ppl required seasonally etc, a factor which had helped encourage her interest in it in the first place. similarly, she always had a telescope and another journal, also filled with copious notes and sketches of the movement of the cosmos!
while roderick has limited her outdoor time and thus she can rarely indulge much in her garden and botanical pursuits, and roderick has removed her telescope (concerned she would use it to spy as much as to watch the skies -- and, in this case, rightful so), she is able to maintain her watch on the stars, though only as much as the naked eye can observe
3. eilia is blunt but not impulsive
she tells truth to power, but this is not to be confused w the way cillian does it: eilia is far better at picking her moments, and her battles -- she also doesn't, however, always express herself as delicately as she'd like to, which has always been an issue in her reign, but has been a huuuuge struggle in dealing w the varmonts, but she's working on it!! still, she rarely articulates things quite as she wishes to, having a forthright quality she still can't seem to entirely do away with. if anything, tho, dealing w the varmonts has taught her to be even less impulsive than she wou'dve been
eilia also has a tendency towards sarcasm which sometimes slips out at inopportune moments but, with a love of humor, she can't seem entirely to do without. in fact, in many ways she leans on it more than ever, now, having become something of a defense mechaism since the occupation
4. eilia is proud af
and even a lil arrogant but this has def been tempered a lot by that whole...getting conquered thing! at the same time, however, it deffff still bubbles up, and she has by no means entirely defeated it! eilia has always had a battle between her fears and her desires, smth that causes her to at once place too much faith in her abilities all while deep down fearing that she has never been and never will be good enough. i'll talk a lil more about that internal conflict lower, but that's a huge part of her character and always has been.
nonetheless, the arrogance side of this was absolutely smth that played a big role in her early reign and, in some ways, helped her bc that blind confidence was a bit infectious -- 'well she must have this all figured out to behave this way!' -- and helped her ram through a number of policies that greatly benefited astaira in her only about six years of rule!
it did, however, also have bad consequences, alienating some critical supporters whose indifference and even irritation later proved catastrophic when astaira was most in need of allies to help abate the conquest. it has also cracked in light of the conquest, causing her to waffle between this and her inferiority complex since the invasion, but again more on that later!
5. eilia is a believer!
those guardians out there making the world go round <3 for her it is much more than a cultural practice and she is a true believer! eilia literally believes that the world is in jeopardy, but she means to do smth abt that -- literally everything she can!! this includes herself, her loved ones, everything -- eilia is a deeply practical person (ill talk more abt this later) and so she believes to hold anything back, including the things youd otherwise have sacrificed everything for (your loved ones etc -- eilia is 100% the type who would much, much ~rather sacrifice herself than her loved ones! so this idea is the toughest of all for her) is mere selfishness in the face of the needs of the whole world, seflishness magnified when ur queen.
nonetheless, she does struggle w whether or not she's a good ruler to ultimately sacrifice her loved ones for the world, when it comes down to it, but she truly believes that that would be the just move!
paired with her (secretly) idealistic heart (more on that in a sec), eilia has a lot of faith, but she also knows she needs to do her part -- and what frightens her is that she might not be able to, anymore. but eilia's never been one to give up (see stubborn section)!
6. she's a romantic at heart but also a logician and lowkey feels these goals are in opposition to one another
building a bit on the above, she's got this war going on inside her, head vs heart, style! eilia is an idealist in a way, but she's also a realist. she will also hide her romanticism at all costs, and try to deny it bc she prizes reason and practicality, and believes its her duty as queen to put that first!
nonetheless, that same idealism she tries to deny also feeds and fuels her vision of a better future which is, in fact, her best trait as a ruler. fortunately, this is something that eilia, as a practical person realizes about herself and her rule. unfortunately, the fact of that knowledge and its source only further fuels the tension inside of her!
7. arrogance vs insecurities as queen (& person)
at once too proud AND too humble!! how does she do it? ;D while, when she first became queen, eilia was profoundly confident, post-conquest she fears she's too little, and that she was once too arrogant, for the challenges before her! yet she still struggles to find an equilibrium between these two, waffling flagrantly between confidence in her own abilities and an utter lack they even exist, a condition that only worsens w pr much every single action roderick takes
8. eilia is a v observant person
ppl watching isn't just a hobby -- its an art! and its served her well in being the king's shadow as a princess and heiress presumptive, learning statescraft at his knee. now, as a captive, it is continuing to serve her well as she keeps her counsel and watches. eilia has learned a v great deal about the varmonts and their culture this way, smth which informs her moves
9. stubborn (once her mind is made up)/forceful of nature
another sometimes alienating factor, eilia is often slower to make choices, but once she does, she is utterly implacable! this is bc she generally applies her reason to problems, so once she's made up her mind, its based on reasonable and principled factors that can only be disrupted by still more reasonable and principled factors. paired with her arrogance, this can sometimes come at cost bc sometimes she places perhaps greater faith in her choices than she ultimately ought to do, but her intentions are good!
until she makes a choice, however, she is quite open minded which she also views as a key factor of being a good leader, and comes out of her love of scholasticism
this willful bent also pushes her to, in turn, push others particularly galvanizing her to debate and to challenge others. she also respects those who do the same to her, though not always in the moment. she does, however, in general enjoy defending herself and her ideas in open discussions with others, and dissecting all notions in the realm of friendly debate, smth she greatly misses, given roderick's close-minded ways.
paired with her stubbornness, however, this will often prompt her to push others to defend their beliefs when she believes them wrong, even in a context where this is unwise. it is smth she is fighting hard to cut back on, now, surrounding by varmonts, but smth she has yet to entirely manage
however, her determination means that eilia will never give up so long as she still breathes and that is, perhaps, her greatest strength of all
10. deeply moral
going hand-in-hand with her belief system, eilia always wants to do do what she believes is good -- pursue the right course for the right reasons, and she will do all in her power, moving heaven and earth, to see justice done. she can sometimes fall too readily into the-ends-justify-the-means trap due to her logical nature, and the belief stemming from it that the means of the many outweigh the needs of the few, which in some circumstances isn't the best, but this is a factor relating to her position as a ruler, believing rightly that it is her task to serve by seeing the big picture
11. big picture thinker
while she tries, eilia isn't extremly detail oriented which can be a difficulty as queen, but smth she ~is, is extremely dogged once she's decided on smth as well as being far-sighted in her vision, an even more important factor in rule. bc of this, she does often delegate to those she trusts, creating a network of highly skilled ppl focusing in on individual facets of problems in order to create a larger, more just system for everyone. she does realize that bad things can, in the longterm, fall out of beaurocratic measures however, which is why eilia also installed a system of checks and balances to oversee these systems, all from different points of views, and ensured that each of these delegates serves not at the pleasure of the queen, but at the pleasure of the ppl just as she does, w elections
further, eilia is quite aware of her shortcomings, which further feeds into her insecurities, but allows her to combat them as well, her generally open mind, and helps her to see the full scope of her actions
12. patient & disciplined
perhaps her crowning achievement in the days since the conquest, eilia manages to hold herself in check largely through this trait, alone. it also served her well as queen, giving her reasonable expectations and allowing her far-seeing plan to unfurl rather than forcing it down everyone's throats and thus collapsing it before it had a chance to bloom

Exploring the best Gurukul Education System: Gurukul Takshashila
Tumblr media
In the vast landscape of education history, Gurukul and Takshashila shine as prominent symbols of ancient learning. These educational institutions, deeply rooted in Indian heritage, offer fascinating insights into the ways knowledge was imparted and cherished in ancient times.
Gurukul: A Revered Tradition
Gurukul, meaning "the teacher's family" or "teacher's house," was an integral part of ancient Indian education. It embodied a unique system where students lived with their guru (teacher) in an ashram (hermitage) for years, imbibing knowledge not only through structured learning but also through daily life experiences.
One of the remarkable aspects of Gurukul was its holistic approach to education. Students didn't just study academic subjects; they also learned life skills, ethics, and values essential for a well-rounded personality. The guru played a pivotal role, not just as an instructor but also as a mentor and guide, shaping the character and intellect of their disciples.
The simplicity of Gurukul life fostered a deep bond between students and their guru, creating an environment conducive to learning and personal growth. Students not only gained knowledge but also imbibed humility, discipline, and respect for elders, forming the foundation of a harmonious society.
Takshashila: A Beacon of Scholarship
Takshashila, situated in present-day Pakistan, was renowned as one of the oldest universities in the world. It stood as a beacon of scholarship and intellectual exchange, attracting students and scholars from different corners of the ancient world.
At Takshashila, a diverse range of subjects was taught, including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, politics, and philosophy. The university boasted a faculty of eminent scholars who not only disseminated knowledge but also engaged in scholarly debates and discussions, enriching the academic environment.
The significance of Takshashila lay not only in its curriculum but also in its cultural and intellectual vibrancy. It served as a melting pot of ideas, where students from various backgrounds came together to learn, share knowledge, and foster intellectual innovation.
Tumblr media
Legacy and Relevance Today
While Gurukul and Takshashila belong to a bygone era, their legacy continues to inspire and resonate even in modern times. The emphasis on holistic education, personalized mentorship, and the pursuit of knowledge for the betterment of society remains as relevant today as it was centuries ago.
In a world increasingly driven by technological advancements and standardized education, the principles embodied by Gurukul and Takshashila offer valuable lessons. They remind us of the importance of fostering a deep connection between teachers and students, nurturing not just intellectual prowess but also moral and ethical values.
As we reflect on the rich heritage of Gurukul and Takshashila, let us endeavor to uphold their spirit of inquiry, wisdom, and enlightenment, ensuring that the pursuit of knowledge continues to illuminate our path towards a brighter future.

Loceit teacher au! (idk what happened but there’s a little angst at the bottom)
Logan teaches astronomy and is the director of the debate team for Cedar High
he’s a pretty hard teacher but makes sure that everyone knows what to do (EX clear directions)
he’s always open for questions and if multiple students don’t understand what he’s teaching he goes to look at his lesson and usually changes it to a different teaching style.
it’s not uncommon for his teaching styles to change dramatically throughout the year to see which works best for which class
classes are not identical because of this, which is a bonus because it’s harder to get answers to tests when two classes are taught diffrently.
he’s pretty popular with students
he’s also not very open about his home life so trying to ask personal questions to waste class time will not work
He rarely has movie days
Janus teaches philosophy and is the director of the debate team for Acre Academy
his class is hard, but really fun
he’s also always open for questions and makes sure everyone understands the directions because “if you can’t understand the directions then I won’t understand your assignment”
he holds lots of mock courtroom scenarios and debates, he has a hands on learning approach and almost never does tests and when he does there will be references to things that happened in that specific class, so there’s no use getting the answers from someone else
netflix documentaries all the time, without packets, but if he asks a random question you better know the answer and don’t even think about falling asleep, there’s a really bag stack of miscellaneous books for a reason.
One of the best parts of his class is that every week he’ll give either a truth or a lie about his personal life and you have a week to try and figure out if it’s a truth or a lie
if a class is correct he never shows it
“Fuck Donald Trump” has been known to play loudly before and on the bus ride to debates
“Eat the rich” is also chanted often
Logan has gone over to Janus’s team multiple times to tell them to quite down.
Everyone including the teachers think that they hate each other
I mean how could they not? They’re practically opposites.
That ans Mr. Sanders son Virgil and Mr. Dolas’s son Remy swear they despise each other.
One day after some pretty aggressive “eat the rich” chanting Logan walks over looking rather mad.
“My students are practicing and doing their homework Mr. Dolas, and you chanting eat the rich is not doing them any favors.”
“Sorry love, We’ll stop chanting.”
“Just for today or for the rest of the year?”
Janus smirked “we’ll see”
it happened again a week later “Mr. Dolas please, stop chanting, my students are trying to learn,”
“As are mine Mr. Sanders.”
“Please refrain from chanting ‘eat the rich’ for the rest of the year Mr. Dolas.”
Janus just winked.
they hated each other.
“Alright class, because of Mr. Sanders we will no longer be chanting eat the rich.”
That disappointed the students tremendously.
“But he never said anything about ‘vore the rich’“
Mr. Sanders once again walked into Janus’s room in themiddle of them chanting “vore the rich”
“Vore the rich. Really Janus?”
“I’m surprised you know what it means Mr. Sanders.”
“I asked Remus what it meant,”
“I bribed him not to tell you.”
“yes but you forget two can play at that game, you may know Remus longer but I know Roman. Where there’s a twin there’s a way. Darling.” Logan left with a smirk on his face.
Janus was left trying to suppress the sure gay panic.
Mr. Dolas and Mr. Sanders knowing the same person made the rumor mill run wild.
Then the accident happened.
Janus got the call first, his adopted brother Patton was in an accident.
He grabbed his things and left as soon as possible. He called Logan in the car
Logan picked up the phone. “Yes? I’m in class. I’ll get the boys and meet you at the hospital. Go make sure Patton is ok.”
He left with Virgil and went to Acre Academy to get Remy.
that brought so many more questions.
Patton was fine and recovered.
when they got back everyone including the other teachers asked them about what happened.
Logan said “Janus is my best friends brother, which is how we know each other.”
Janus said “Logan is on of my brothers best friends so we’re well acquainted.”
Roman actually asks why they keep their relationship status a secret.
Logan doesn’t like telling the students and doesn’t see it as necessary for them to know.
Janus respects that Logan doesn’t want everyone to know and also isn’t keen on telling everyone
besides, it’s so much more fun to keep everyone guessing
Then Janus has an interview with a law firm and gets a job.
Meaning he has to leave the school.
everyone is sad to see him go.
the last truth or lie on the board is “I hate Mr. Sanders”
everyone says it’s true which Janus privately laughs at.
Everything is pretty different, and Janus’s students really miss chanting “vore the rich” “eat the rich” or whatever the new chant was
Janus proposed to Logan at the observatory
“Logan Sanders, will you marry me?” Janus did not get on one knee.
“I thought you said weddings where stupid and overly expensive pageantries,”
“I’ve decided to make an exception,”
Patton suprises Logan right after school ends.
“Let me see thing ring right now! I’m so happy I helped pick the ring and suggested the snake. It looks perfect Logan!”
Logan obliges showing him the very simple ring, with an engraved snake
Remus Looked at Logan ded in the eyes “I swear to fucking god if you so much as look at my bestfriend the wrong way they’ll never find your body.”
Logan laughed “I wouldn’t dream of it,”
“Good! Because you’re my best friends fiance. and it’d be a shame to kill you,”
“It’d be a shame to die before my wedding day.”
“Dad! Can we go? as much as I love this you can always I dunno not do it outside of my school.” Virgil said.
“Virgil, I just go engaed, I’m going to talk about it. If you want you can walk to Acre Academy and get a ride from your brother and Emile.”
“We should leave, I need to make a similar threat to Janus, can’t have him hurting my best friend,” Roman said.
“Roman!! You ruined it! Me and Remy worked so hard!” Virgil complained.
Roman laughed “yes and now it’s time for the dramatic revel!”
“It’s not very dramatic,”
Then everyone knew that they didn’t in fact hate each other.
Remy had the most fun picking up Virgil “get in loser we’re going shopping!”
“Remington Dolas-Sanders, grounded for a week.”
“Ha sucker!”
“You too Virgil!”
“dang it!”
that was confirmation for anyone and everyone that Mr. Dolas and Mr. Sanders where indeed together.

4. Was there anything their parents pushed them to do? (e.g. sports, theatre, band)
Arthur found this child in the grass and said to himself, “Why yes, I think I’m quite capable of educating and civilizing him.”
School wasn’t an entirely new concept to Alfred, after all, they were some of the first buildings in the colonies, only outranked by homes and places of worship. The education present was largely influenced by the Protestant Reformation, with even larger influence by the various religions sects at the time such as the Puritans and Quakers. Education meant the preservation of their individual cultures and to keep all followers loyal and disciplined. Corporal punishment was commonplace, thought to drive the devil from the child's body. Needless to say, Alfred would come and go as he pleased. He was stuck between being afraid of the burning pits of Hell and his mind always wandering to even further off places.
Along comes Mr. Arthur and his teachers, tutoring the child himself in the comfort of their home in Massachusetts. The subjects taught were designed to assist in practical matters of daily life: arithmetic for business; languages such as Latin and Hebrew, debate, and reading to provide access to the Bible and to understand contracts, government documents, and laws.
Alfred had snuck off to the colony of New Netherlands in New York to learn Dutch before it was taken over by the British; he would pop up in Pennsylvania to learn German. With Matthew around, his French improved.
Even when Mr. Arthur was gone, Alfred had access to hundreds of books in their home library. He read about philosophy, naturalism, astronomy and all the things people so very long ago had found important and people only just now were remembering that.
Alfred loved to read. He loved hearing Mr. Arthur telling him stories of the stars and timeless myths and heroes of old. He loved impressing him with his ability to use an abacus and doing numbers in his head. Shakespeare was fun to read, Mr. Arthur did all the voices so he did his best to do the same.
He hated memorizing useless passages and reciting them over and over. He hated the stupid metronome as he struggled with the violin. He didn’t want to hear anymore Bible stories or sing hymns. He didn’t care about his handwriting. Alfred always made sure Mr. Arthur got the message when he didn’t want to do something.
5. Describe your muse’s worst nightmare.
Alfred smiles.
His friends have all come for a visit. They’re waiting at the door.
Bottles of starlight are gathered in his arms.
It’s time to be happy.
His friends love when he smiles. When he laughs. When he tells happy stories.
His friends hate when he frowns. When he cries. When he tells sad stories.
The glass breaks.
Happy little stars in fragments all over the floor.
He’s cutting his hands. He needs to fix them. He’s not hurt.
The door opens.
The façade is gone.
He’s disappointing everyone who believed in him.
Happy thoughts in a million pieces that fall through his fingers like grains of sand.
These weren’t meant for him, they were for his friends.
They’re shouting and pleading and crying and Alfred can’t hear what they’re saying.
Get out, get out, get out, get out, get out.
Please.
Leave me alone.
They know you.
12. What are some warning signs that your muse is getting depressed?
Alfred’s on his fifth cup of Folgers and just ordered three large pizzas and it’s not even noon. He’s been at his desk all night playing Minecraft because the music in combination with the feeling of loneliness is really starting to get to him.
His depression is a secret, buried deep deep deep in the recesses of his mind. He doesn’t like confronting those feelings. He denies to others, denies it to himself. He’s in front of the mirror pulling his mouth into a smile.
He’s out jogging more, he’s eating out more, he’s calling people to hang out more, he’s spacing out more, he’s working more, he’s lying more, he’s drinking more, he’s yelling more, he’s crying more, he’s hurting more.
He’s burnt out.
Desperately trying and trying to pull out any happy thoughts and smile and assure everyone, assure himself, that everything is okay.
He’s not.
Everything comes forward at once, the bottle overflowing and he doesn’t know where to put these feelings. He’s pacing his home, talking to nothing because who can he trust. He’s laying on his floor because he doesn’t know where to go.
Matthew hasn’t reached out to him in a while. He calls him to check up, to make sure Matt’s doing okay. His brother really needs to get out of the house so Alfred is packing his bag for a visit.
He has to make sure his brother is alright.
17. Does your muse pray, whether it be to a god or some other force?
Alfred and religion have been a complicated affair, I touched a little on it in the answer about his education. When he first died and understood that was what happened... things began to falter. He had watched other people die, prayed for them to go to Heaven and even cursed at mean people to go to Hell. But he wakes up every time and didn’t see any of the things he was taught. He was confused. He still prays, goes to church, stares at the crosses and stained-glass windows, asking God for answers for what he is.
His roots are there, in reciting prayers at meals and before he went to bed, in being afraid of sin and being a bad person.
He only grows more confused as he gets older but he keeps going like he’s always known. He prays with his soldiers and asks God to help him and his country. It’s harder and harder to keep the same morals as he was taught as a child. Sex is good, getting drunk and high can be fun, and it’s okay for him to enjoy things and be happy. He’s not nearly as religious as he used to be in the modern age, he’s more open to the idea of other things out there.
Still, in quiet moments as he’s standing in old churches, he’ll give God a quick hello and thank you for keeping him alive this long.
47. Name a song your muse can sing every word to.
Almost what artist can he sing every word of all of their songs to is more accurate. The man’s a king at karaoke and sings every song at the concert he’s attending. Dumb blonde king is vibing hard with the rhythms of the sun-bleached Pacific coast and knows every Beach Boys song. I can go on about he knows way too many bands that were popular in the 70s and 80s (Eagles, Rush, Queen, Guns ‘N Roses, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Journey, etc.) that he adores and will sing their songs while drumming the steering wheel and playing air guitar while in the shower.
He’s as equally versed in modern pop and indie music. I swear, at least 15% of this man’s brain is memorized song lyrics. You never know what you’ll get if you shuffle his liked songs on Spotify.

Minor schools around the world: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada,Runescorn Academy of Magic
Runscorn Academy of magic lies within a cluster of rural homes on the outskirts of Edmonton. The homes, which are in reality the dorms and homes of both staff and students, circle the school itself, which appears as a 1980-built home. They accept students from all across Canada+Alaska with a set limit of 4005 per year. They are currently the only known minor school to accept both humans and vampire children. It is a boarding-only school. The school has a total of 8 floors. The top 2 floors are on the surface, while the bottom 6 floors map the underground of the rural area. There are two fields (One surrounded by a church facsimile to hide the Quidditch/Quodpot players),  a playset, and a outdoor rink. Like most European schools, students in North America are also accepted upon the age of 11 (Grade 6), but graduate upon 18 (Grade 12), whereas Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and others   graduate upon 17.  The Principle as of 2010 is Mr. Laughvin Bedroit, a former Halfblooded vampire alumni of Runescorn (Scrollreader) -------------------------
Classes offered are:  (Mandatory): French, DADA, Transfiguration, Math, Science/Potions, Charms, History (Electives): Alchemy, Runes, Music, Fine arts, Debate, Astronomy
The set uniform for males is: Vest, Runescorn robes (Runescorn jacket in the winter), white dress shirt, and jeans The set uniform for females is: vest, Runescorn robes (Runescorn jacket in the winter), white dress shirt, and black skirt (optional to wear jeans)
Students are sent a letter through both magical and muggle means (depends on the student), and there are five houses that students may pick from; Halo: Students here are known for their bright, sunny, and accepting personalities. They average of about 15 new students per year, and many are Native Americans from Alberta, such as those from the Blackfoot confederacy. Their dorms are on the 1st floor, a sharp right from the Grade 6 French classroom, and have large windows to let the sun in. Many graduates in Herbology are usually from here. Their colours are white and yellow; their symbol is a simple white ring against a yellow background. The students are known as “Angels”, and have good relations with the Shamans.
Crowfoot: Named after the Siksika chief, this house also has a high amount of First Nations children. The students here are known for being among the best fighters in Alberta, often climbing quickly on the ranks on both Canadian and American wizarding duels. The current female house prefect, 11th grader One Who Sings (Rough translation), is the leader of the dueling club at Runescorn. Students here graduate with high degrees in DADA and Transfiguration. The dorms are on the 7th floor, next to the dueling floor and favour woven carpets made of Wendigo hide. Their colours are brown and green; their symbol is a sword crossed with a leafy tree branch against a brown background. The students are known as “Chiefs”, and have good relations with the Sailors.
Scrollreader: As you can probably tell from the name, the students here are smart, quick-witted, and cunning. Although not particularly known for studying, they are rumoured to hold the secret to Technomagic (A form of magic by carving runes and creating specific wards for technology to work). Only loyal Scrollreaders may know the secret and they cannot use it outside of the dorms. There is a severe penalty for exposing the secret (nobody knows what it is- that should say it all). Their dorms are also on the 7th floor, almost outside of the rural area, and encompasses the majority of the top floor of the library. Their colours are grey and dark blue; their symbol is a scroll against a blue background. Perhaps unsurprisingly, 70% of all Vampires chose this house. The students are known as “Scrollreaders”
Shaman: Also probably obvious. In this house, older students teach the youngers about the popular form of healing magic that is only taught in Canada (A mixture of Gitxsan healing practices and traditional ritual magic). Many of them are from B.C First Nations tribes. The school nurse, Mary Housen, was from this house, and as such, it has gained the popular nickname, “House of Healing”. Their dorms are on the 1st floor, next to the Halo dorms. Their colours are yellow and a deep red; their symbol is a Gitxsan frog jumping over a healing rune. The students are known as “Shamans”, and have good relations with the Angels.
Wendat: More then a tribute then anything else, the students here tend to be incredibly athletic and make up most of the sports teams at Runescorn. Despite this, they are incredible loyal to their closest House, the Chiefs, as well as the Shamans, who take the time to heal the 101 injuries the house tends to get, and don’t take too kindly to bias (There was an incident in 1970 that resulted in a pureblooded Sailor getting thrown out by his own house due to his continued use the word “Mudblood”). Their dorms are across from the Crowfoot dorms and also favour woven carpets made of Wendigo hide. Their colours are black and light blue; their symbol is a mohawk with a hockey stick in the background. The students are known as “Sailors” (A reference to where the Wendat lived), and get along well with the Chiefs.
------------
Students wake up each weekday at 6:15 by a prescribed bell (7:30 on weekends), and breakfast is served until 7:45. Students then spend until 8:30 cleaning up the school and tending to the gardens for Herbology, and go to classes at 8:45.
Lunch is served at 12:00 until 1:00, and classes end at 3:34. Dinner is served at 7:30, but Grades 10-12 have mandatory study hall at 7:45 until 8:50 (practices and games exempt). Lights out is at 9pm for Grades 6-9, and at 10:30 for Grades 10-12. Astronomy students will go to bed at 2:15 with the help of a sleeping drought.
During weekends students may Portkey to Rosethorn Avenue, in Medicine Hat (Alberta’s version of Diagon Alley).
School starts on September 6th, winter break starts on December 17th (ends January 6th, or the day after that), and summer break starts June 15th. Students may stay over the break within reason.
Following the Albertan curriculum, Grade 6′s take their PWAT’s at the end of the year (PAT’s but wizardized), and Grade 12′s take their diploma’s around the same time. Graduation for Grades 9 and 12 will happen in a small ceremony at the end of the year.

the west wing professor au
i feel like this has been done before, but i can’t find it if it does exist. if this is your au, please know that i did not intentionally copy any ideas because, again, i’m not sure if this really exists.
also before i start, i don’t know how other people’s colleges work, so just in case: a capstone class is a sort of cumulative class for seniors (i’ve also heard it called a senior seminar). it’s usually a very small class size and either discussion-based or research-based. what’s required for the class varies by major.
dr. joshua lyman (ratemyprofessor score: 4.5): chairman of the political science department. also teaches one capstone class per semester. it is the single most sought-after class in the department (which strokes his ego. also, he literally does not have time to teach a second section).
dr. josiah bartlet (ratemyprofessor score: 4.7): the only econ professor anyone likes. his classes fill up very quickly, given that he’s a nobel laureate and all. he’s kind of a hard grader, but he’s very kind and enthusiastic.
dr. claudia jean cregg (ratemyprofessor score: 4.9): teaches communications. she loves her capstone classes because they give her more one-on-one interaction with the students. she’s taught several influential people who cite her as one of their sources of motivation and inspiration.
dr. tobias ziegler (ratemyprofessor score: 3.7): teaches comp. you either hate dr. ziegler or you love him. no in between. praise in the margins of your papers feels like winning the lottery.
dr. samuel seaborn (ratemyprofessor score: 5.0): teaches english and creative writing. if you’re attracted to men, it’s practically a rite of passage to have a crush on him. he’s so sweet and enthusiastic and encouraging that it’s nearly impossible to not.
dr. leopold mcgarry (ratemyprofessor score: 4.5): teaches psychology. fairly universally beloved for his dry jokes and in-depth lectures. he gives a little half-smile easily, but sometimes he smiles with teeth and it’s enough to make everyone want to cry.
professor donnatella moss, m.a. (ratemyprofessor score: 4.9): teaches music theory and choir. sweet, encouraging, knows how to foster talent. don’t disappoint her or make her mad. she’ll break your heart and you’ll never forget it.
professor charles young, j.d. (ratemyprofessor score: 5.0): adjunct professor of civil procedure, also practices human rights law part time. every student loves him to pieces (he’s a genuinely good teacher, but the weekly bonus point opportunities certainly don’t hurt).
dr. abigail bartlet (ratemyprofessor score: 4.2): teaches biology capstone classes and anatomy. a little bit of a hardass, but she really does want students to succeed. even if her classes make you want to die and reconsider your major, you can’t help but love her.
dr. william bailey (ratemyprofessor score: 4.3): teaches astronomy, and his eyes just light up when students ask thoughtful questions. a little bit of a mess, but he’s pretty endearing (and a pretty easy grader–if you get the concept, you get most of your points).
ms. katherine harper (ratemyprofessor score: n/a): head rotc coordinator. has personally visited high schools across the country to speak on her experiences with rotc. when students come to her, she takes them very seriously. has made many a girl wonder if they liked girls (spoiler alert: they usually do).
dr. annabeth schott (ratemyprofessor score: 4.3): adjunct professor, teaches public speaking and advises the student theatre group. makes her students do silly exercises to loosen them up. fairly well-liked. does some media consulting on the side.
dr. amelia gardener (ratemyprofessor score: 4.0): teaches women’s studies. tough as nails, but clearly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject. not very good at answering student emails, so it’s best to go to her office hours.
dr. josephine lucas and mr. kenneth thurman (ratemyprofessor score: 4.3): joey is second chair of the political science department and teaches statistics for political science. she generally uses power points so she can click to the next slide and have both hands free to sign while kenny interprets. students adore both dr. lucas and mr. thurman.
dr. matthew santos (ratemyprofessor score: 5.0): teaches humanities with a specific focus in government and global relations. is just the most enthusiastic, fun guy on campus with so much passion for his subject. includes corny jokes in his power point slides.
professor ainsley hayes, j.d. (ratemyprofessor score: 4.2): teaches constitutional law. loves nothing more than civil debate in class. a tough grader, but leaves lots of constructive feedback. she only wants her students to be better.
professor daniel concannon, m.a. (ratemyprofessor score: 4.4): teaches journalism. enjoys teaching well enough, but takes semesters off at every opportunity to go cover stories worldwide. his assignments seem hard, but he helps the students work through them.
margaret hooper, carol fitzpatrick, ginger webster, and bonnie parikh (ratemyprofessor score: n/a): grad students working as ta’s. margaret teaches psych under leo, carol teaches comms under cj, ginger teaches chemistry labs, and bonnie teaches creative writing under sam.
bonus:
everyone knows that dr. and dr. bartlet are married--they’re the campus power couple who literally promote their spouse’s classes (”and if any of you are biology/econ majors, you’ll probably have my wife/husband”).
however, it’s somehow several years before any student figures out that there’s something going on between dr. lyman and professor moss.
they both have wedding rings on, but they don’t necessarily talk about their personal lives in class, so nobody really thinks much of it until a particularly gossipy student runs into them (holding hands, no less) at a local theatre’s production of a tennessee williams play and it spreads like wildfire.
so now everybody knows they’re married (and have impeccable taste in theatre).
cj and toby have been having an ongoing affair ever since his divorce, but they keep it very quiet.
sam is painfully aware that his students have crushes on him, but he keeps it incredibly professional (besides, he has one eye on that cute astronomy professor).
one of the girls who met kate and wondered if they liked girls was ainsley (and, spoiler alert: she did). there was a faculty/staff mixer at the beginning of ainsley’s first year teaching, and when they shook hands, ainsley forgot how to breathe for a second.
josh and joey went on one date during josh’s first year after he started teaching at this university, but it didn’t really work. however, they remain close friends.

hi! i hope you're having an amazing day <33 i was wondering if i could have a grishaverse and a riordanverse match-up? my pronouns are she/they and i'm a lesbian infp hufflepuff. i love writing and really want to be an author. i love to bake, especially cupcakes & brownies and i could talk about flowers, astronomy, and poetry for hours. i try to stay away from conflict but i can hold my own in a debate. and i'm very active in local clubs. i'm very smart & empathetic. tysm in advance <3
Tumblr media
Grishaverse, Nina Zenik:
- Nina has a bit of a sweet tooth herself and has a very specific love for cakes and pastries. Finding out you love to bake, she will always use it as an excuse. She claims it is great quality time, and though this is partially true, she loves to eat the bakings afterwards. Nina is not a great cook, but she is a quick learner. She often throws in too much sugar or flour, so you’d have to teach her to slow down on the use. Careful though, because she will do it again on purpose just so you can make an entire new project.
- She loves to chat. She has trouble shutting up at times and - obviously - isn’t afraid to say what she thinks. However, the second you begin talking about things you enjoy to explain about, she’s quiet. Dead quiet. Simply listening to everything you have to tell her. She is genuinely so interested. And she remembers everything. She has a great memory to those kind of things. If there are ever questions about it, she will answer them in deep detail, holding your hand tight while mentioning that you taught her that, every five seconds.
- Nina is a walking conflict. She loves chaos, and if she cannot find it, she will create it. Though you try to stay away from it, it will be difficult with her. You’d have to be the one to pry her away and calm her down often. She gets pissed off pretty easily. Just hold her hand or run your hand down her back and she’ll come to her senses. She loves snuggling with you afterwards, simply ranting about the whole issue while you stroke her hair gently. She often falls asleep like that. It’s endearing.

Tumblr media
Riordanverse, Hazel Levesque:
- Hazel loves poetry and the art of writing. She finds it is a great way to collect stories and spread them over the years. Knowing her s/o practices that art makes her so happy! She cannot get enough of it. Regardless of what you write, she will encourage you the entire way. Fantasy? An amazing look into that brain of yours! Historical fiction? Will absolutely help you with some aspects (I have a headcanon where she is really great at history). Biopic? Taken aback by how well you can write those things. Super supportive in everything you make.
- Speaking of writing, the two of you share amazing conversations over poetry. You love talking about it and she knows a surprising amount about the genre. Both of you learn things from each other that you would have never found otherwise! Nights at the campfire at either Camp Halfblood or Camp Jupiter are more often than not spent discussing new collections and authors.
- Fights are quite rare for the two of you. Both of you are empathic and know when to stop an argument before it worsens. A lot of people get ballistic because of it. Conversations like “you two never fight?” take place so often, that it became some sort of inside joke. Share a simple look with her and her smile will make you wave off the entire thing. You truly could not care less about what others have to say about a relationship that isn’t theirs. You and Hazel are happy and that’s the most important part.

I don’t feel like I give Atreus very much love here, so here’s a few headcanons that I’ve been building on the past week or so:
Atreus hates physical fighting but loves debate. Due to the nature of his upbringing, he was taught how to wield a sword but expressed very early that he never wanted to hurt or kill anyone with it. Which is partly why Astra stepped up and took spot as heir.
As such, Atreus shies away from most pressure of any kind because he’s used to Astra taking the reigns and protecting him from most of life’s problems.
He gets very anxious when it comes to physical altercations to the point of avoiding most people entirely if he knows they practice kendo/martial arts/knife throwing, etc, with the exception being Astra because he trusts her with his life. Later, he adds Azha to the list. (and in verses other than main, he’s merely skittish). This is in part to his mother’s treatment of Astra after the incident that led to their uncle’s deaths.
Atreus’ interest in astronomy comes from their family history--as a child he was entranced by the constellations that were explained to him and as he grew older, he learned astronomy in earnest from their Uncle Orion. He’s very, very good at it and has multiple contributions acknowledged and accredited amongst his peers.
Eventually he takes a Professor’s position at a university and teaches advanced geophysics, astrometry, astrogeology and astrophysics.
He’s very grumpy in nature and doesn’t like being awake before noon, loves coffee and reading. He frequents small coffee shops, favoring quiet, dark  places that aren’t too popular amongst others.

Character redesign references: Danny, Sam and Tucker .
(Art by the wonderful @gally-hin-phantom / @gally-hin ) click/tap image for higher resolution.
This is way overdue!! Sorry for the delay!
Danny
Full name: Daniel A.Jax Fenton
-Yes his middle name is A.jax and it's entirely bc of this post and this post .
-Danny is Trans, (note the cute bracelet!) having officially transitioned over the summer between middle school and his freshman year.
-Danny is still fourteen, and is the youngest, as well as the shortest out of the trio.
-12 ounces of whoop ass, snark and anxiety. Also puns. Dear God, the puns....
-hobbies include: Astronomy, astrology, D.O.O.M and horror movies.
-Astronmy is more of a hyperfixation tbh.
-Proficient in gymnastics, having taken classes from ages 6-12, and participated in jr. cheer-leading throughout some of middle school as a flyer. Actually used to be friends with dash and paulina.
-Favorite classes involve Science and Mathematics, he’s good at understanding difficult concepts when he can pay attention. Absolutely awful at reading comprehension.
-His style hasn't changed all that much; he absolutely lives in graphic tees, jeans and sneakers. He usually wears the hoodie to cover up the litchenburg figure scars he received from the accident.
-The Accident occurred roughly a week or so before the start of his freshman year at Casper High.
-Much of how Danny got ghost powers remains in line with the established canon, with Sam urging him to investigate the ghost zone portal, and his getting caught and electrocuted within the frame after accidentally turning it on.
-Sam didn't have to do very much convincing though, Danny's definitely a lot more interested in his parents work that in cannon, even if they can be super embarrassing about it a lot of the time.
-And this is the point where I break off from that canon: but I'm going to make a seperate post for detailing Danny's ghost half / Phantom.
Sam
Full name: Samantha Nicole Manson
-Sam isn't an Amity park native, she moves into town over the summer after getting expelled from a fancy private school and finishing the year out online/ at home.
-At 15 years old, She's the oldest out of the three of them- having gotten held back a school year at some point for "behavioral issues"
-Sam's personality is still very much in line with her cannon counter part, although while she may still be stubborn to a fault, she knows when to admit she's wrong.
-Her revised style is really more punk, than goth.
-Sam's family is still pretty well off, as her father is the Owner of "Manson refrigerators" which has had a long-standing partnership with Dairy-King Co.
-She doesn't have a great relationship with either of her parents- they view her as out of control while she feels that they're too controling. Her grandmother is a constant mediator between the three of them.
-she's a vegetarian, she won't eat meat, but ethically sourced eggs and dairy is fair game.
-Pan-romantic Asexual.
-hobbies include: Cooking, Gardening, urban exploration, social activism, Anime, horror films and novels, and D.O.OM.
-She meets Danny over the summer at the movie theater during a horror flick marathon. After talking with him for a while, she's intrigued when Danny explains what it is his parents do. Being equally shocked that she doesn't immediately dismiss their work and call him a freak, he invites her over to see the portal...
Tucker
Full name: Tucker Foley
-Meet Danny in kindergarten, and the two of them have been pretty much inseparable ever since. He's only older than Danny by about a month.
-Was the first person that Danny came out to.
-Bisexual
-Dated Danny VERY briefly (like, a week) in middle school, which, unfortunately leads to a lot of people assuming they're still a "thing" (it's annoying but I has absolutely gotten them out of a few sticky situations *cough* fake out make out *cough*
-Not really a fan of sam at first. Tuck Actually feels somewhat threatened by her in the beginning beacuse for the longest time it's been JUST him and Danny, the dynamic duo. He gets worried that Danny'll stop hanging out with him because Sam is just SO much cooler. (These worries are completely unfounded, of course.)
-Still a tech wiz, same as in cannon. Even though I've decided I'm going to set the rewrite in the early 2000's, there's gonna be more "modern" technology. (bc I love the fact that Jack, Vlad and Maddie were in college in the 80's and also don't feel like doing math to adjust the timeline) Tucker probably still has at least one PDA somewhere cause hey, vintage shits kinda cool! But it's definitely not gonna be his go to device anymore.
-Tucker has an issue with iron deficiency...hence, an increase of red meat in his diet. The "meat vs veggies" debate is absolutely a heated issue between him and sam, although after a while it settles into friendly banter rather than lengthy arguments that have Danny pulling out his hair at the lunch table.
-Tucker hates the horror genre, cause he's a freaking wuss, lmao. But he lets Sam and Danny drag him out to see movies anyway.
-Tucker's hobbies include tinkering, computer games, (including but not limited to D.O.O.M) coding and yarn crafts.
-His grandmother taught him to crochet when he would visit her in the hospital, Tucker Actually made his beanie himself.
-Danny's the only one who knows about that though because he doesn't want to be teased for liking something "girly"
-He still has a phobia of hospitals. Watching has grandma slowly deteriorating in one is what caused it.
I think I've covered everything, but odds are I'll be adding onto this at some point.
Next post will probably cover Danny's ghost half in depth!
(on a final side note, if anyone is interested in drawing character refs for this project, dm me! I can compensate with a fic based on prompt of your choice, or if you have set commission rates, $$$)

On 2nd April 1593, the College of New Aberdeen was founded.
Just a wee thing to think about here, the British Isles, at this time, had 7 Universities, 5 of them were in Scotland.
Nobleman George Keith, the 5th Earl Marischal, founded the New College Which would later bare his name, in 1593. The college initially occupied buildings from a 15th century Franciscan Friary. The first new construction started in 1676 and extended into the 18th century.
A College is a combination of schools or classes working together for a common purpose under one head or directing body; but what is a University? Cicero used the Latin "universitas" with the meaning of the whole human race. In Medieval Latin the term "vestra universitas" was frequently used to indicate those to whom Bulls, Letters, and Charters were addressed. The Pope it might mean the whole world, over which he at one time claimed temporal power, or the whole Christian world, over which he still claims Ecclesiastical authority. Used by a Bishop, it meant all the Churches and congregations and Priests under his jurisdiction.  But used in connection with a College, "universitas" had quite a different meaning. It denoted a scheme of study which was in contrast with that in use in the only other schools of learning in the middle ages - the Cathedrals. By these the young Priests were taught Latin, perhaps Greek and Hebrew too, and Theology, and any other branches of learning desirable for a Priest to know, and nothing else. In contrast to this a University was a College where the whole circle of knowledge concerning everything that men took an interest in could be acquired:- religion, languages, law, medicine, mathematics, physics, astronomy, plants, and animals.  Anciently men had no scruple about undertaking to teach everything that was worth studying, and a University in the Middle Ages better deserved this name than its modern representative. Then it might have been said with some truth that every student learned everything studied at the time; now we specialise and try to learn much, not many things.
The college's creation was first understood as a reaction to Aberdeen's other university, King's College in Old Aberdeen. The idea that Marischal College was somehow a Protestant tank on the lawn of Catholic King's has been thoroughly debunked – King's was Protestant by the time Marischal College came into being. However, a refinement of this initial idea is that Marischal College was a result of the failure of King's to modernise.
Marischal was the second of Scotland's post-mediaeval 'civic universities', following the University of Edinburgh, that is to say it was not, like earlier seats of learning, established by a Papal Bull and initially run by the Catholic Church. As such, both Edinburgh and Marischal came to be known as the 'Toun Colleges' of their respective cities. The university was founded with the expressed aim of training clergy for the post-reformation Scotland.
The College was constructed on the site of a medieval Franciscan Priory disused after the Reformation. This building was later replaced by a William Adam designed building in the mid-18th century, however this, together with the Friary remains, were demolished entirely for the construction of the present building between 1835 and 1906. The college's Greek motto translates as "virtue is self-sufficient".
For me, the Marischal College Building is one of the finest in Scotland. The ornately carved granite pinnacles on the facade are a joy to look at, the statue of Robert the Bruce just adds to it.
For many years, much of the building was derelict as university departments had moved to King's College or Foresterhill years or decades before. Up to 2009, the only parts of the college building chiefly used by the university were the Mitchell Hall (for graduations, concerts and other events), the Marischal Museum, and the Anatomy department, which was used for 1st year medical students until March 2009. It was also home to the University's debating chamber.
The college itself became The University of Aberdeen after the merger of Marischal College and Kings College in 1860. The teaching and research traditionally based at Marischal is now hosted at the Foresterhill and King's College campuses. Until 2008 the Marischal Museum was open to the public at Marischal College. The building still houses closed displays and the collections are available to view online in a virtual museum.
The first pics is how the college looked in the mid 18th century, the next are of the beautiful building that could very well have been lost if the council had now stepped in and housed the council HQ there.

HP HEADCANON: PARIS UNIVERSITY
𝓵𝓮𝓼 𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓾𝓵𝓽𝓮𝓼 ✯ 𝓊𝓃𝒾𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓈𝒾𝓉𝒾𝑒𝓈
There are five different facultés (abr. fac) in Paris, each one called by a number and the name of a famous wizard/witch or a district in Paris. Each fac has its specificities and various pathways that should please most of the young students trying to find what they want to do with their life after they graduate
Paris I — Babel: Modern languages, dead languages, magical languages, magicology, magical literature, theoretical studies of magical and non-magical art
Paris II — Ruggieri: Astrology, astronomy, divination, theology, psychology, philosophy and sociology
Paris III — Nicolas et Pernelle Flamel: Alchemy, occult sciences, arithmancy and mathematics, magical and non-magical medicine, biology
Paris IV — Cluny: Botanics, care of magical creatures, potions, magical geology and crystal healing, elementary magic
Paris V — Kardec: Necromancy, spiritism, divination, transfiguration, illusionism and oneiric magic, hypnosis and psychology
French students either use the number or the name of the uni to refer to it, never both. Ex: “I did my masters at Paris IV”, “I was a teacher at Cluny for two years” or “Flamel has the best course for arithmancy”
Paris universities are known for being selective but welcome students from every social class: there are no tuition fees except for social security which is calculated on the income of the student or their household if they still live with their parents. The more you earn, the more you pay but it is capped to 20 galleons per student (roughly 450€). If you’re doing a joint honour degree in two different fac, you won’t have to pay twice.
Be careful with this because French bureaucracy is kind of a mess, especially when it comes to uni life. Most people working for the administration have a precise timetable they like to stick to and won’t be kind to you if you raise your voice, even if you’ve been waiting for 2h at their door because the only free time you had is during their lunch break. But sometimes, the right owl sent to the right person will be enough, so don’t hesitate to communicate!
Depending on which fac you’re attending, you’ll probably meet a lot of different people but since we’re French (a.k.a. judgmental), each fac has a typical profile of students:
Students from Babel are considered clever and cultivated but most people think they just don’t really know what they want to do with their life yet. They enjoy uni life in Paris and spend time hanging out with a great deal of foreign students from every part of the world, learning and researching for academic purpose. They create more or less harmful spells and like to talk in latin or ancient greek on a daily basis. They make inside jokes about politics and are the first ones to go on strike any time they don’t agree with the government’s decisions. Very diplomatic and charismatic but also kinda conceited since Babel was the first actual French magical faculté in the Sorbonne (this title is also claimed by the Perrault Institute). They love to debate about any topic of the wizarding world and for the most part, they know a lot about the non-magical world too since they study languages spoken by muggles as well.
Students from Ruggieri are more discreet and contemplative. They are passionate and having your astral chart drawn up by one of them feels like becoming an open book, even though knowing about astrology doesn’t always mean being intuitive. They aren’t known for being empathetic though, and they have a tendency to despise divination techniques that aren’t based on what’s written in the stars (students from Kardec can tell). They love mythology, mind games and poetry. They often go to the countryside beyond Paris’ suburbs to escape light pollution and if you’re lucky, they might invite you to their next nocturnal picnic in Seine-et-Marne.
Students from Flamel are hard-working and competitive since medicine studies (and other courses taught in this university) follow the numerus clausus method. You have more chances to see a Flamel student at the BAM (Bibliothèque Académique de Magie, en. Academic Library for Magic) than attending any of the cool parties young French witches and wizards organise throughout the year. Actually, since the BAM is physically part of Paris I, this has created a long-time resentment among students who all claim priority to access the Library. Flamel students are ambitious and passionate by their field but suffer from a great deal of pressure since failing one exam can be  eliminatory. They also have the worst writing ever.
Students from Cluny are seen as the weird hippies of the academic wizarding world. Always down for going on a trip or testing new things. Their shared interest in elementary magic makes them very welcoming and warm since they tend to focus on how a group is stronger than an individual and how you can always seek for help in others (“others” sometimes meaning plants, animals or rocks). They are very genuine and you won’t know for sure if they are really down-to-earth or if they constantly keep their head in the clouds. They love going outdoors and escape the city from time to time but they can also spend hours (days) underground cultivating fungi. Laugh now if you want to, but they get the best kind of psychedelics and liquors for your next party and they won’t bring any if you make fun of them. Also, they throw their own parties in cool speakeasies all over the Mines. Keep your ears open if you want to get the password!
Students from Kardec are actually the real anarchists of the academic landscape, even though Babel tries to steal their far-left thunder. Non-conformists, skeptical and teasing, they love throwing some unpopular opinion in a debate and watch how it takes. You’ll see them at protests and art events since they hang out a lot with students from the ENSBAMO and the Académie de Musique. They generally have no filter whatsoever and are also trying to figure out what they want to do with their life but even though they seem a bit puzzling at times, they’re really sweet. They might know their way around the Mines better than students from Cluny and believe me when I tell you this: they throw the best Halloween party every year — apparently being located in a cemetery helps a lot.
Of course, these are reputations, not distinctive character traits and every student is different from the other so don’t worry: you’ll fit right in wherever you want to go!
